Paradiso On Extra Sensory Perception
After analyzing the text from Looking Glass House and the article by Paradiso and Dublon titled Extra
Sensory Perception provided by the stimulus packet, I was inspired to look into the effects of violent
video games on adolescents by asking the question, Do violent video games contribute to youth
violence? The advancing technology making virtual scenarios more lifelike that was mentioned in
Extra Sensory Perception combined with Alice s active imagination in Looking Glass House made me
question how impactful the use of violent video games might be on an adolescent s mind. The impact
of violent video games is becoming a more common debate because, over the past few years, the sale
of video games has skyrocketed and therefore, so many teenagers and children are being exposed to
the content of these games. The advancements in technology have further enhanced the appeal of
video games. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paradiso on Extra Sensory Perception explained the how technology has made massive advancements
in the recent past the gyroscopes and accelerometers that are now in every smartphone were bulky and
expensive (Dublon). With the advancements in technology pointed out in the article, the realistic
graphics and animations of video games has also advanced. This increase in life like video games
draws more attention the violent content within the games and the effects of this violence. Some
psychologists, pediatricians, and parents are concerned that the violence in video games influences
youth to commit violent crimes or to act aggressively. When looking at the issue from a psychological,
a cultural/social, and a criminal perspective, it can be concluded that violent video games contribute to

DataVast Case Study Essay example
Identifying Major Issues: There are many issues in this case study that overlap each other throughout
the process of developing the product for DataVast Inc., developed by founding Winston Hao. He is
the creator and founder of this company but as we all know developing a company isn t as easy as it
may seem when you invest time, money and energy for company that begins to face turmoil. The
difficulties that Mr. Hao face is trying to re improve and modify original cloud storage product that
stored large quantities of digital data, The big issue was that even though they were ready to send out
there newly modified product was who would be their target. This was just the beginning of many

Now for Public Cloud it did have an advantage over Public Cloud as the data didn t need to be store

the premises of their home office. The next issue for Mr. Hao was dealing with integrated back up
system that were offered by IT providers such as IBM and Tivoli. This company had offered many
areas of individualization with high performances levels, however they were in high price range and
were difficult for smaller companies to pay for that couldn t afford to. Ultimately, the next step was
business data storage in China. Bringing this concept to China was hard because companies that were
backing data were North American who were using out dated data. It was a frequent thing that people
were involved with service industries to sell client info a practice that makes it hard for company trust

products to China. This was new to the Chinese market, and Hao hoped that since working with the
largest telecommunication company it provide with some recognition. This however caused Chinese
businesses to be resistant to adopt cloud products by 2011 five years into operation DataVast was still

El racismo aun prevalece en nuestra sociedad
Perfil Racial

What Is Catch Me If You Can Film Techniques
In the film Catch Me If You Can, by Steven Spielberg, Carl Hanratty, is an FBI agent on the chase for
Frank Abagnale Jr. In this scene, he finds out Frank is hiding in a small town in France at a factory
writing himself cheques. He then convinces Frank to handcuff himself and turn himself into the french
officers. During this scene, Spielberg uses four main film techniques to create a theme and moods.
These techniques are, cinematography, editing, colour and lighting, and sound. Spielberg uses these
four techniques to create a mood and build suspense. The use of these techniques links to the theme
that Frank s actions will eventually have consequences because the director is making the audience
believe that Frank could get caught, meaning Frank s actions will have consequences.
The first film technique spielberg successfully uses is cinematography. Specifically, he uses close up
shots on Frank and Carl s face during their conversation about whether Carl is telling the truth and
then swears on his daughter s life. During these close ups, there is a good use of camera movement by
zooming even further into their faces. The use of this technique gives a strong effect on the audience
by showing the seriousness and emotion in the characters faces. It also shows the tension and suspense
in the room. This shows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some themes these techniques highlight in the scene are, escaping and hiding your identity, actions
will catch up with you, and throughout the film, appearances can be deceiving. Overall, throughout
Frank s arrest scene in Catch Me If You Can, Spielberg uses a combination of close up shots, low key
into high key lighting, a series of short cuts during Frank and Carl s dialogue, and background non
diegetic sound to help develop a suspenseful, tense mood, as well as create an emotional connection

How Does Julius Caesar Use Rhetoric
Julius Caesar Rhetoric Research Essay The art of rhetoric has been practiced and admired for
centuries for its powerful effects over audiences. These effects are clearly presented in Shakespeare s
The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. The famous eulogies by Mark Antony and Marcus Brutus are prime
examples of how public speaking can generate a whirlwind of reactions and emotions from people. In
Brutus address, he states that killing Caesar was for the good of Rome, and the continuity of Rome
should be put above all else. He bluntly points out that as Caesar was an ambitious man, it would have
had a disastrous affect on Rome. In Mark Antony s speech, he sets Caesar as a man of the people with
ambition to make Rome greater. He carefully counters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brutus also shows his role in power by commanding the people to be silent, that [they] may hear... him
(Shakespeare III.ii.13 14). As Brutus speaks, it can be seen that he is not speaking within his natural
form, iambic pentameter. He is instead using prose, a common speech that is typically not used in his
rank of power, but rather in commoner conversation. This shows that due to the unnatural events that
have occurred, he is not able to speak in his natural form. Brutus is easily affected by events and
conflict more so than other characters in the play. After Brutus is done speaking, he demands, not asks,
the crowd to listen, complete opposite to Mark Antony s start of speech. Mark Antony addresses the
people as Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears, putting friends above citizens of Rome
(III.ii.75). Antony asks for permission to speak before the crowd. Still speaking in iambic pentameter,
he establishes himself as a regular sympathetic citizen of Rome, greatly impacted by the death of
Caesar. This angle works as the citizens of Rome as they too start to feel sorry for Caesar, and realize
his death was not justified. Antony´s emotional appeal to the crowd is described

The Cardiovascular Fitness Chart My Rating Is At Poor
1) For the Cardiovascular Fitness chart my rating is at poor. I wasn t surprised at my rating because in
high school I use to run indoor track, play lacrosse and I was on the crew team (number 8). Therefore I
use to be able to run for 12 minutes without walking, I was able to pace myself and my breathing. I
had more control over my body. I m not satisfied with my current rating because I know what the
factors of being unhealthy can lead to. Diabetes, Cancer and heart disease run in my family, therefore I
should be a lot more active then I am. Since I have took the 12 minute run I have took my fitness in
my own hands. I have been mediating morning and night to keep my stress down, find my inner self,
as well as increase my confidence. I have learned that stress can increase body fat as well, and before
mediating I use to always stress about every single thing and was depressed often. Another thing I
have done to improve my cardiovascular fitness rating, is yoga, twice a day. The last step I have taken
for improvement is I eat at least two salads a day and I drink mainly water. With eating the two salads
a day I make sure to cut out my snacking on things like candy. I also make sure to get plenty of
veggies in my salad and I have changed my salad to a light dressing. The change I feel inside is
incredible and it helps me to stay positive with my fitness. In the future I would like to be able to run
12 minutes and my rating changes from poor to good. Also I would like to add

Symbolism in English Literature
Archetypal figures present in Chaucer s The Miller s Tale By José Luis Guerrero Cervantes According
to Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, an archetype is a symbolic formula that begins to work wherever there
are no conscious ideas present. They are innate universal psychic dispositions that form the substrate
from which the basic themes of human life emerge[1]. The archetype is experienced in projections,
powerful affect images, symbols, moods, and behavior patterns such as rituals, ceremonials and love.
Jung[2] compared the archetype, the pre formed tendency to create images, to a dry river bed. Rain
gives form and direction to the flow, we name the river, but it is never a thing located in any place, it is
a form but never the same, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

attention on the physical description and little is said about her character. However, the adjectives
skittish , jolly , tall and upright describe her as someone irreproachable in any sense. After she falls in

Background of Csr
Background of Corporate Social Responsibility

1.1 Evolution of csr: A Short History
We believe that the leading global companies of 2020 will be those that provide goods and services
and reach new customers in ways that address the world s major challenges including poverty, climate
change, resource depletion, globalization, and demographic shifts.
Niall Fitzgerald, former ceo Chairman, Unilever
Debates over the concept of csr span from the 1930s to the 21st century. A debate over the
responsibilities of corporate managers and directors to their shareholders and other groups directly
influenced by corporations took place in North America during the 1930s, marking one of the first

Mapping Corporate Social Responsibility in Trinidad And Tobago
Also in many developed and developing countries, corruption is still widespread and there is a
general lack of transparency and accountability which all give momentum to the emergence of csr.
Finally, the growing awareness that csr is good for business has also aided its development. While the
primary role of corporate executives is to maximize shareholder value, the global marketplace, where
reputations matter deeply, dictates that shareholder value increasingly depends on corporate values.
Business leaders understand that practising corporate responsibility affects their corporate reputation
and brand image. Managers are becoming more and more aware that socially responsible investors
and activist shareholders can impact the bottom line. For example, company executives recognize that

The Pros And Cons Of Mass Shootings
The First Amendment of the Constitution says that the Congress cannot make a law that forces people
to follow one religion or prohibit free speech. It also says that people have the right to hold peaceful
assemblies to make a change. This allows people to have opinions and express them freely as long as
they are peaceful.
The article connects to the First Amendment because the NFL players are protesting what they believe
in and using freedom of speech. If Congress made a law to throw players in jail who kneeled during
the national anthem it would violate the United States Constitution. But, while the First Amendment
protects them from being sent to jail, they could still be fired from the NFL. By this point, however, it

This article talks about Venezuela s President Nicolás Maduro wanting to rewrite the country s
constitution, originally written in 1999. The exact changes that would be made to the document are
not known, but citizens and leaders of both Venezuela and the United States, including President
Trump, believe it will make the government too much like Cuba s. Cuba has a communist government
that controls everything. There will be a vote that many people plan on boycotting, and there have
been many protests from all the people who do not want the President of Venezuela to go through with
the changes. These strikes are dangerous and have ended up killing many people.
The Twenty Sixth Amendment of the Constitution reduces the voting age to eighteen years old. It says
that a citizen who is eighteen or older cannot be denied the ability to vote by any state because of their
age. Until this, in most states, citizens had to be twenty one years old to vote.
The article and this amendment connect in certain ways. Many Venezuelans do not like their President
s plan to make changes to their country s constitution. If something like this were to happen in the
United States, and citizens were angry at the idea, the people s voice would need to be heard. With the
voting age at eighteen years old, more people could vote against the plan to show the government just
how many citizens disagree with making changes to the

To be an American during the time of the Revolutionary War had a lot of different meanings to many
different people. To white men it meant freedom. To many people and men specifically it mean that
they wanted to have freedom from Great Britain. To women it mean that you had to do as your

Neolithic Agriculture
Agriculture is one of the best things that has happened to humans. For once, humans were freed from
the bonds that nature had over them. Agriculture has allowed so much more efficiency in
domesticating animals and plants and innovating technology. These major things have branched off
into more advanced things we know of civilizations today.
Before settlement, foraging was an extremely hard life to keep up. Many of the very young and very
old were killed, because they could not live in a harsh environment of constantly moving around and
gathering food. Foragers did not have as reliable food resources as farmers. Also, some foods are
seasonal. Growing food meant that there could be a surplus to last through times of the year when
food was not being grown. The neolithic era was a popular time for people to start establishing
organized religions and sharing ideas in a more orderly fashion, whereas foragers shared among their
groups. Forager groups kept large ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Foragers had a varied diet but these food were not always around. Many archaeologists believe that
foragers were healthier than farmers, because they were less exposed to disease and had more
nutrition. It is also speculated that without agriculture, social inequality would not have became a
problem. This is simply untrue, because man has a way of wanting to be over each other and after a
long time, somebody would inevitably end up as a leader. Since people had been hunting and foraging
for so long, they became very skilled at it. After a while, 75% of big game went extinct. Think of how
many more animals would have gone extinct if domestication and herding had not been introduced.
There might not have been any animals left to hunt by this time if hunting at their extent had
continued. William Howells is utterly flawless in his argument that agriculture is one of the most
important things that has happened to

The Book Thief Opens The Story With The Idea Of Death
Yin yangs within carry a universal message of peace and balance in which there must be dark and
light times for peace and equilibrium to exist in society. Humanity is a yin yang. Such balance of
beauty and destruction is needed for humanity to continue in a way where we can appreciate and feel
sorrow. Humans adapt and that is the total essence of the yin yang or humanity which is adapting to
our life in a way where we can live in beauty or destruction. That there is no beauty without
destruction and no destruction without beauty that being the case, the swastika meant good and hope
for 90% of Germany and destruction for the 10%. The course of humanity is beauty and destruction
and they have always coexisted because of this, humanity is beautiful for it can withstand much
destruction and continue to produce humanitarian aid to rid of the ugly in humanity. Through national
disaster humans true colors are shown where there is beauty in rescue but ugliness in survival. Zusak
in the novel Book Thief opens the story with the idea of death and how it essentially narrates the novel
in a way the reader can see the beauty and ugliness in people. The time period Book Thief was written
in was between 1938 and 1943, a major national disaster had occurred in Germany. World War two
had been the main focus of the German citizens but in specific the Nazi party and the rat like jews
they all hated. World War two, which exterminated many innocent Jewish people, did leave various

The Importance Of The Indian Removal Act
In class, we participated in a role play activity, which was a re play of the congress in 1830, when the
Congress was debating over whether or not to pass the Indian Removal Act. In history, the U.S.
president and the Cherokees signed a treaty, which not only established peace and friendship between
the U.S. and the Cherokees, but also guaranteed the Cherokees right to use their land forever.
However, the peaceful and friendly relationship was broken in 1830, when the Indian Removal Act
was passed by the congress; the bill authorized the president to grant unsettled land west of
Mississippi in exchange for the lands that the Indians own currently. Although many resisted the
removal policy, many natives were eventually forced to leave their lands. Since the day the Indian
Removal Act was effective, the fate of the Cherokees were doomed approximately 4,000 Cherokees
died on the march to the west, the situation continued to worsen as they reached their relocated lands.
Throughout the debate of The Indian Removal Act in the congress, many strong and valid arguments
were made. For instance, the Cherokee group launched an attack to the Andrew Jackson
Administration group by querying the reasons of why they broke the treaty. The Andrew Jackson
Administration remained calm and they explained that the reason why that broke the treaty is solely
for the betterment of the U.S.; they argued that the importance of the nation s economy growth
outweighed the trust and friendship with

Questions On Learning And Lesson Planning
1. What challenges have you faced?
Some of the challenges I have faced behavior issues with the students, disgruntle parents, difficult
administration and time management. When I 1st started teaching I had 34 students and I would give
homework and I could not check the homework every night and I had a policy where if the child
missed 3 homework they would get a phone call. And she called the students home the parent was
very rude and was wondering why she was just now getting a call. She didn t use profanity but I felt
degraded and my confidence went down and I felt like I wasn t a good teacher.

One of my weaknesses is technology and incorporating it into the lesson. But I am trying to get better
by asking questions and my school offers training in the technology in the classroom. The smartboard
being an example. Plus, they upgraded the smartboard and I was just adjusting to the one I had
currently and then we got a new one.
8. When did you decide to become a teacher and why did you choose this field?
I always wanted to be a teacher even as a child. What helped me make that decision was my first
calculus and accounting course because I realize business was not for me and I have always worked
with children on one level or another. I was a Sunday school teacher at my church and I had nieces
and nephews that I had to watch and assist with their work.
9. What personal strengths do you find especially helpful in your teaching?
The personal strengths that you find helpful in my teaching is the fact that I have always been around
children which helps me know how they think and being a team player and work well with others.
And plus, I liked to see a finished product. I like to start something and finish it through which is
important when teaching.
10. What is your philosophy of education?

Flat Management And Transparency Worked For Them Essay
This post is inpsired by a post I found recently on inc.com
I found this title to be very intriguing. So much so that I decided to do some research as to why Flat
management and transparency worked for them.
So Here is why!
Introduction
Flat management is an organizational structure which eliminates intermediate executive levels and
their functions. In this, the top most level of management is in directly intertwined with frontline
customers, employees on the floor and salespeople. Undeterred by their breath, flat management can
be benefited from various advantages for the customer like faster response times and also other
customer preferences.
From increased productivity to faster decision making, here are 5 compelling reasons as to why flat or
horizontal management could work for your company.
1. Focus on core Products:
With a flat management system there is more time to listen to your customers and their reviews on the
products. Thus giving you the feedback you need to refine your the product. With a Flat structure you
don t have to deal with the nitty gritties of Human Resources or any issues related to it. Departmental
meetings are also not required. Staff meetings, however, should be conducted at least once every week
so that you can have a clear status about the state of the business. In this meeting you get a good
opportunity to discuss on ideas and techniques offering customer service suggestions, content, new
product features etc.
It has been found that flat

learned about CIW and its business careers and how it will benefit me in being a computer technician.
One of the many things I ve learned about CIW and its Business Careers is that in your web Brower
you have these things called Cookies. A cookie also known as an Internet or Web cookie, is the term
given to describe a type of message that is given to a Web browser by a Web server. The main purpose
of a cookie is to identify users and possibly prepare customized ... Show more content on

The second key to having a successful business is to provide value by working towards the same goal
inspires in the team members with a strong sense of purpose. The team sees value in working together
to accomplish a certain goal that gives them a meaningful reason to work together, along with
receiving mutual benefits for the company as well as the team. And the last key thing to having a
successful business is that everybody does an equal amount of work. This is very important to having
a successful business because it provides every team member with equal opportunities to participate
and communicate their ideas. This to me is very helpful to make me a better computer technician and I
now will know what to do if I ever have to work in a group.
The third thing I found to be very important to help me better become a computer technician is
netiquette. The word netiquette has been made to encourage a common sense and politeness, and to
establish general rules for Internet etiquette. In order to conduct a productive and effective career
search, it is critical to practice good networking etiquette. Five key important things about netiquette is
that first, it is very important to have good networking etiquette is to be mindful of other people s
time, time is everything to your customers.

âOf Mice and Menâ is the fictional short novel written by John Steinbeck in 1937. Steinbeckâs
perspective when writing the novel could be based on the fact that he had once worked on a ranch and

Smoking is illegal on public transport and in the following public places: healthcare facilities,
educational facilities, and places of worship. In other types of public places and in workplaces,
designated smoking areas must be provided. With respect to outdoor places, children s playgrounds
must be smoke free. The realization of smoke free places and smoking restricted places, however,

Ecological Theory And Social Work
Hospital social work is time limited and the focus could easily be more directed at problems rather
than solutions. Patients enter the hospital with a physical problem and desire to leave with answers. In
this type of environment the focus can be on the physical ailment rather than additional factors that
may be contributing to physical distress. Environmental factors can promote well being or become a
barrier to wellness. An ecological perspective provides a lens to view patient systems in a broader
context.
Ecological perspective is a useful framework in which to view the individual in context with their
environment. According to Rogers (2013) ecological theory was originally developed by a
psychologist, Urie Bronfenbrenner in 1979 (p. 42). A fundamental tenet of ecological theory is that
people are actively involved with their environments and their perceptions of the environment
significantly affects their well being (p. 42).
Ecological theory describes four levels of the environment that interconnect and impact people.
Moving from the most intimate individual system to a broader inclusion you can identify the many
systems that play a role in individual s lives and well being. These interactions could be harmonious
and create homeostasis or could be disharmonious and cause stress.
First, the microsystem level encompasses roles and relationships in a person s immediate environment
(Rogers, 2013, p. 43). For example, Maria s relationships and home living situation

The Fear Of Death And Dying
One of the most common fears is thanatophobia, the fear of death and dying. Perhaps that s because
the want to live is a natural instinct that controls human behavior; the fear of death is ancient and
primal, permanently wired into our genetic programming. Scientists are experimenting with
biotechnology more and more these days many people hope to, one day, be able to live forever and
avoid death completely. In fact, humanity has researched the concept of immortality quite thoroughly,
albeit not enough for us to achieve it. Not yet, anyways.
I was tightly gripping the remote control in my hand, staring into the darkened television screen. The
deuteragonist was still my favorite character, but after that plot twist... You can t just kill him off like
that! Not by taking a stab through the chest from his best friend, that s just cruel! It s not supposed to
work that way! The lead isn t allowed to kill the other characters, especially not the next most
important one, who just so happens to be his childhood friend! I shakily set the control down. Sadly,
character death was quite common in apocalyptic literature, and you d think I d have grown
accustomed to it by now, judging from my love of the genre. Unfortunately, that wasn t the case.
I leaned back on the brown leather recliner, futilely attempting to reach the state I was in before seeing
that traumatizing event. Even though I d only witnessed it through a screen, the killing still managed
to unnerve me. I closed my eyes

Conformity In One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest
Conformity has been the target of many works of literature even before Holden Caulfield from
Catcher in the Rye spewed angst about everyone around him being a phony. To many people, there are
forces in the social order that shape others to fit a certain mold, and one who does not fit the mold will
be considered an outcast by society. During the 1960 s, rebellion was a shared act among the majority,
including authors and artists; this was due to the conflict in the East as well as the Civil Rights
movement. To these people, the government was a criminal, even a machine perhaps, which
threatened one s individuality. This provides some historical context on the background of One Flew
Over the Cuckoo s Nest. Ken Kesey, the author, worked in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Most of the characters are truly plagued by the government, as it rejects any sort of nonconformity in
society. Patients such as McMurphy are forced into the ward because they refuse to conform to the
normal standards of civilization, and thus they must be fixed. The Combine s machines of oppression
cause many to conform, and eventually leads to the fall of many, including McMurphy. Personified as
Nurse Ratched, the Combine s tyranny causes a major conflict with McMurphy throughout the novel
and much of the persecution that he endures. McMurphy rejects compromise and constantly fights the
Big Nurse as she tries to emasculate him and the other patients. McMurphy, as the representative of
the individual, fights against the grip of the mechanized civilization that has forced him into the ward.
He tries to enrage Ratched to cause disorder and thus destroy the foundation of regularity and
consistency; he succeeds in this when he and the other patients pretend to watch the World Series and
Ratched explodes in anger. When McMurphy finds out that he is one of two patients that are
involuntarily committed to the hospital, it makes him realize that he alone is fighting for his freedom,
and the others have been repressed by Ratched to the point of being afraid to rebel against her or
simply leave. McMurphy fights until the end to free these men of their emasculation even if it

Common Misconceptions About Video Games
Shigeru Miyamoto, a legendary video game developer, expressed his thoughts on video games, Video
games are bad for you? That s what they said about rock n roll. There have been common
misconceptions about video games being a bad influence on children due to their violent content they
can have and leading children to be more violent. Miyamoto disagree with this misconception using
rock n roll as an example. He stated just like how rock n roll was considered bad in the past
generation.therefore the current generation of children and adults will not be affected by video games
in a detrimental way. There have been many case studies disapproving this myth about how video

However, these misconceptions are debunked by news sources such as PBS. Henry Jenkins, an MIT
Professor, wrote a list of reasons on video games myths on the PBS website. He believes the link
between youth violence and video games are merely a coincidence, because in the modern age, more
and more of today s youth are connected to social media and technology, and it really depends on the
person s mental stability. There has been research on how the more aggressive people enjoy playing
more aggressive games like the aforementioned game, Doom, and that there are no conclusions that
link video games to change normal people to killers. Incidentally, these misconceptions of youth
violences linked to video games are still commonly believed today by a small group of people around
the word despite the growing popularity of video games in modern day culture. All things considered,
video games can be used as an educational tool in providing a lesson in educational facilities.I will go

Creatinine, a breakdown product of creatine phosphate, is a waste product excreted through urine.
Since, depending on muscle mass, age, sex, diet and exercise, creatinine is produced at a fairly
constant rate by the body, hence, its measurement is commonly used to assess the GFR (1). Various
methods often employed for the estimation of creatinine are: Jaffe s method, Enzymatic method, High
performance liquid chromatography, Gas chromatography with mass spectrometry and Isotope

standard for creatinine estimation, however because of its cost and cumbersome nature, it cannot be

The absorption of light by normal bilirubin (4Z,15Z bilirubin) results in the creation of 2 isomeric
forms of bilirubin: structural isomer (Z lumirubin) and configurational isomer (4Z,15 E bilirubin).
Both these structural and configurational isomers of bilirubin have substantially different chemical
and light absorption properties than bilirubin, are less lipophilic than normal bilirubin and can be
excreted into bile without undergoing glucuronidation in the liver. The absorption of light by bilirubin
also results in the generation of excited state bilirubin molecules that react with oxygen to produce
colorless oxidation, or photooxidation products. The rate of formation of bilirubin photoproducts is
highly dependent on the intensity and wavelengths of the light used (13). The most efficient
wavelength for the isomerization of bilirubin is approximately 450 nm, whether applied to the fluid
samples for testing or the treatment of jaundice. Wavelengths that fall within the range of 400 nm 500
nm, and more specifically 445 nm 475 nm are known to effect isomerization (14). The blue lights are
chosen for light emission wavelengths of approximately 450 to 530 nm, which is the optimal range of
light absorption for bilirubin. In contrast, the optimal range of light absorption for

The Effects Of Social And Emotional Development On Children
Social and Emotional is as important as physical and motor development. Physical and motor
development are much easier to observe than social and emotional development but it doe not dismiss
how important this concept is. It is through social and emotional development that a child self
awareness and their ability to regulate body and behavior. Transition is very important for the success
of a child in school and social life. When a child is aware that he or she is separate from their
environment than they can began to process and understand the world and establish meaningful
relationships through their work or play. In order to understand the data and analysis of the children
we must keep in mind that each child is unique in his or her rate of growth and development and there
will be major milestone differences. This paper focuses on the observations of social and emotional
development in children ages 3 years to 8 years old. For my observations I picked two girls and one
boy. My first child is a little boy blonde baby with brown eyes by the name of Oliver. He was born on
January 10th, 2013 and is now 3 years old. Oliver is very energetic he loves to play outdoors. He is
very self reliant and follows instruction when asked to do a task. Oliver was observed in the three year
old classroom at the Child and Family Research Center (CFRC) on the University of Nevada, Reno

Franklin D. Roosevelt And Public Health
Franklin D. Roosevelt/Health Care Administration
Introduction
The paper provides detailed information about Franklin D. Roosevelt contribution to the community
and public health with regards to how the individual s contribution impacts on today s public health
system. The previous paper provided the historical background and the personal beliefs that prompted
Roosevelt to make his contributions to the community and public health. The paper will also discuss
how the input of Roosevelt is still relevant today and how his contributions could support or be
expanded for future community and public health benefits.
During his reign as US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt realized that his desire to reform the health
sector would require the backing of the people for it to pass through Congress. His tenure between
1933 and 1945 was characterized by the Great Depression, World War I, and the New Deal that
included the Social Security Bill (Physicians for a National Health Program, 1999). The Great
Depression presented a perfect opportunity for President Roosevelt to pass a mandatory health
insurance in the US, but the country was reeling from the effects of the depression with
unemployment and millions out of work. Unemployment insurance became his priority before taking
a swipe at the inclusion of a health insurance bill since he feared that including the Health Insurance
Bill in the Social Security legislation would face opposition in Congress.
Before his Presidency, FDR won the

Why Dogs Should Not Be Judged
Imagine a world where people were based off their race, family, religion or whatever makes them
different.Imagine a world that bases you off of that information and bans you from somewhere or
something just because of a stereotype.I know this might sound strange but instead of people replace
those with dogs and instead of race or religion its breeds. Dangerous dog breeds such as pit
bulls, rottweilers, and even german shepherds have been suffering from these stereotypes because
people believe they are too treacherous to live in the same place as them.I believe that these
Treacherous dog breeds should not be judged because on most occasion it is the owner who trained

A Critique on the 1994 Rwanda Genocide
Critique/ Discussion
Despite receiving considerable among of funds and international attention since the genocide in 1994
Rwanda is having a bad experience of political governance. According to a report by the World Bank,
around 10 percent of the population which is more than 850,000 people was killed during the deadly
conflicts and about 3 million escaped to neighboring countries. Thousands of children were left with
the responsibility of caring for more than 90,000 households, which left a large number of widow and
orphans (Peyntjens 2010). Also, thousands cases of extensive rape which led to HIV/AIDS and spread
these daises throughout the country. Furthermore, there hundred and thousands victims suffering
trauma of rape and violent acts and they were died after months of being in trauma and some even
killed themselves. On the other hand, Rwanda can still feel the bad economic effects of those deadly
conflicts (Panic 2010).
This paper described the seizure of power and the merging of hegemony by a particular group of
Rwandans who came from abroad. Their social base was, and remains, very narrow till the end. The
brutal regime used certain strategies through repression, terror, and extreme violence elimination of
countervailing voices, both political and social to achieve their goals. The government used excessive

A Comparison Of The Fast And The Furious
Although Hollywood is not a stranger to a movie being used as a stencil or a cookie cutter to generate
other. If the plot was dissected of the award winning movie, The Fast and the Furious, one could see
an exact story line to another award winning cult classic, Point Break. With the 10 years in between
the production of both movies, it has become very easy for some and especially the newest generation
of movie watcher to completely miss the shocking similarities and brilliance of these two movies. The
unforgettable excellence of these two classics is unmistakable, but The Fast and the Furious walks

plot, built a franchise, and ran with it for the last 16 years.
Both plots are very similar, but with very minor modifications. The Fast and the Furious is dubbed the

Inner Ring Essay

Professor Ledri Aguilar

Inner Rings and the Motives that Come Along C.S Lewis delivered a speech named The Inner Ring at
King s College, a University in London. As Lewis continues on in his speech, one may be a little
thrown off by what these inner rings are and what exactly they mean to people. Although Lewis
mentions both good and harmful inner rings, one could argue that most people find themselves so
caught up in these inner rings they do not even realize they are trying to be involved in them for the
wrong reasons. Some people strive to have a certain appearance that comes along with being involved
in these inner rings that they tend to forget what really is important to them. ... Show more content on

Some of these inner rings are the reason we have competition, jealously and spite in the world. It is
not right for one to feel left out just because they do not have certain traits or don t have the same
views as another. Lewis even acknowledges this with his passage, Unless you take measures to
prevent it, this desire is going to be one of the chief motives of your life, from the first day on which
you enter your profession until the day when you are too old to care (Lewis 152). An example of today
s inner ring would be fraternities at Colleges. People who aren t part of a certain fraternity would feel
left out when they see the Frat s doing activities only Frat members are allowed to do. This might
make one feel the need to fit in and do certain things they do not enjoy just to be accepted in a
fraternity. Although this particular example does not apply to everybody, it still does not hide these
inner rings because they can be found everywhere.
Arroyo 4
Another example of an inner ring existing is social class in itself. Rich hang out with the rich, poor
hang out with the poor. People obviously have different circumstances that make their social class rich
or poor, but the ring still exists. Lower class people feel left out when they see the upper class driving
nicer cars, eating expensive dinners, and living in expensive homes. While on the other end, lower
class workers are living pay check to

Electronic Commerce ( E Commerce )
The development of new technological innovations, such as the Internet, has brought on changes for
the market. The Internet offers a world wide network, which connects millions of individuals and
businesses and creates a global marketplace with huge business opportunities (E business, eEurope,

communication tool to reach consumers at any place and at any time. This also enables consumers to

Thus, there is a need for promoting trust and confidence on the Internet. For consumers, security and
privacy issues are seen as barriers to shopping online (Windham Orton, 2000). They want their
identity and personal information to be confidential, due to fear of being exposed to online fraud
(Petrovic et al., 2003). People are more willing to take risks with people or organizations which they
trust. The potential risk in e commerce is greater because of the anonymity, distance and lack of
physical interactions (Cazier, Shao St. Louis, 2006). Many elements of personal interaction that are
used in the offline environment, for example, facial expression, gesture and body language, are lost or
not applicable in an online environment (Grabner Kräuter Kaluscha, 2003). Many consumers
appreciate the real shopping experience of touching things and trying items on. So, in order to
understand why people do or do not engage in e commerce activities, it is important to study online
trust (Cazier et al., 2006).
Trust is an essential tool for a transaction to take place, both in an online and offline environment. In e
commerce, the Internet vendors as well as their websites can be trust building sources in themselves.
So, it is important for companies to learn how to manage consumers trust in e commerce. Although,
building consumer trust on the Internet is a challenge for online vendors. For this

Falling from the Cliff
1. Falling from the cliff
1.1 Case Study
On April 1, 2007, a 48 year old woman was killed after plunging 50 meters from a cliff while hiking
on the rugged Lion Rock. She planned to climb over Lion Rock along an unnamed path with 2 people.
However, they got lost along the path. So, the woman climbed upward along a rough cliff to try to find
a way out. Unfortunately, she sipped and fell 50 meters down the cliff. She suffered severe injuries
and lost consciousness. Later, she was declared dead in hospital. [1]
1.2 Possible causes
For hikers, they may need to bear part of the responsibility to protect themselves. Some hikers may
neglect the danger while hiking.
Firstly, some people may walk too close to the edge that they may accidentally fall down when they
are careless or step on little rocks.
Secondly, some people may wear unsuitable shoes while hiking, like high heels and slippers. These
kinds of shoes cannot prevent slippery and cannot protect their foot if accidents happen.
Thirdly, some hikers may play along the road and accidentally push the other down the edge. Also,
some hikers would walk together hand in hand. In case one of them lose balance, all of them may fall
down.
Also, the rocks and roads may not in good conditions and cause the hikers to fall down when hikers

The advancing technology making virtual scenarios more lifelike that was mentioned in Extra Sensory Perception combined with Alice s active imagination in Looking Glass House made me question how impactful the use of violent video games might be on an adolescent s mind. • 5. Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Is Catch Me If You Can Film Techniques In the film Catch Me If You Can, by Steven Spielberg, Carl Hanratty, is an FBI agent on the chase for Frank Abagnale Jr. In this scene, he finds out Frank is hiding in a small town in France at a factory writing himself cheques. He then convinces Frank to handcuff himself and turn himself into the french officers. During this scene, Spielberg uses four main film techniques to create a theme and moods. These techniques are, cinematography, editing, colour and lighting, and sound. Spielberg uses these four techniques to create a mood and build suspense. • 8. How Does Julius Caesar Use Rhetoric Julius Caesar Rhetoric Research Essay The art of rhetoric has been practiced and admired for centuries for its powerful effects over audiences. These effects are clearly presented in Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. The famous eulogies by Mark Antony and Marcus Brutus are prime examples of how public speaking can generate a whirlwind of reactions and emotions from people. In Brutus address, he states that killing Caesar was for the good of Rome, and the continuity of Rome should be put above all else. He bluntly points out that as Caesar was an ambitious man, it would have had a disastrous affect on Rome. Brutus also shows his role in power by commanding the people to be silent, that [they] may hear... him (Shakespeare III.ii.13 14). As Brutus speaks, it can be seen that he is not speaking within his natural form, iambic pentameter. He is instead using prose, a common speech that is typically not used in his rank of power, but rather in commoner conversation. This shows that due to the unnatural events that have occurred, he is not able to speak in his natural form. Brutus is easily affected by events and conflict more so than other characters in the play. After Brutus is done speaking, he demands, not asks, the crowd to listen, complete opposite to Mark Antony s start of speech. Mark Antony addresses the people as Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears, putting friends above citizens of Rome (III.ii.75). Antony asks for permission to speak before the crowd. Still speaking in iambic pentameter, he establishes himself as a regular sympathetic citizen of Rome, greatly impacted by the death of Caesar. This angle works as the citizens of Rome as they too start to feel sorry for Caesar, and realize his death was not justified. Antony´s emotional appeal to the crowd is described ... I wasn t surprised at my rating because in high school I use to run indoor track, play lacrosse and I was on the crew team (number 8). Therefore I use to be able to run for 12 minutes without walking, I was able to pace myself and my breathing. I had more control over my body. I m not satisfied with my current rating because I know what the factors of being unhealthy can lead to. Diabetes, Cancer and heart disease run in my family, therefore I should be a lot more active then I am. Since I have took the 12 minute run I have took my fitness in my own hands. I have been mediating morning and night to keep my stress down, find my inner self, as well as increase my confidence. I have learned that stress can increase body fat as well, and before mediating I use to always stress about every single thing and was depressed often. Another thing I have done to improve my cardiovascular fitness rating, is yoga, twice a day. The last step I have taken for improvement is I eat at least two salads a day and I drink mainly water. With eating the two salads a day I make sure to cut out my snacking on things like candy. I also make sure to get plenty of veggies in my salad and I have changed my salad to a light dressing. Symbolism in English Literature Archetypal figures present in Chaucer s The Miller s Tale By José Luis Guerrero Cervantes According to Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, an archetype is a symbolic formula that begins to work wherever there are no conscious ideas present. The archetype is experienced in projections, powerful affect images, symbols, moods, and behavior patterns such as rituals, ceremonials and love. In history, the U.S. president and the Cherokees signed a treaty, which not only established peace and friendship between the U.S. and the Cherokees, but also guaranteed the Cherokees right to use their land forever. However, the peaceful and friendly relationship was broken in 1830, when the Indian Removal Act was passed by the congress; the bill authorized the president to grant unsettled land west of Mississippi in exchange for the lands that the Indians own currently. Although many resisted the removal policy, many natives were eventually forced to leave their lands. Patients enter the hospital with a physical problem and desire to leave with answers. In this type of environment the focus can be on the physical ailment rather than additional factors that may be contributing to physical distress. Environmental factors can promote well being or become a barrier to wellness. An ecological perspective provides a lens to view patient systems in a broader context. Ecological perspective is a useful framework in which to view the individual in context with their environment. According to Rogers (2013) ecological theory was originally developed by a psychologist, Urie Bronfenbrenner in 1979 (p. 42). A fundamental tenet of ecological theory is that people are actively involved with their environments and their perceptions of the environment significantly affects their well being (p. 42). Ecological theory describes four levels of the environment that interconnect and impact people. That s what they said about rock n roll. There have been common misconceptions about video games being a bad influence on children due to their violent content they can have and leading children to be more violent. Miyamoto disagree with this misconception using rock n roll as an example. He stated just like how rock n roll was considered bad in the past generation.therefore the current generation of children and adults will not be affected by video games in a detrimental way. He believes the link between youth violence and video games are merely a coincidence, because in the modern age, more and more of today s youth are connected to social media and technology, and it really depends on the person s mental stability. There has been research on how the more aggressive people enjoy playing more aggressive games like the aforementioned game, Doom, and that there are no conclusions that link video games to change normal people to killers. Incidentally, these misconceptions of youth violences linked to video games are still commonly believed today by a small group of people around the word despite the growing popularity of video games in modern day culture. Since, depending on muscle mass, age, sex, diet and exercise, creatinine is produced at a fairly constant rate by the body, hence, its measurement is commonly used to assess the GFR (1). Various methods often employed for the estimation of creatinine are: Jaffe s method, Enzymatic method, High performance liquid chromatography, Gas chromatography with mass spectrometry and Isotope dilution mass spectrometry (IDMS) (2,3). Although the IDMS method is considered to be the gold standard for creatinine estimation, however because of its cost and cumbersome nature, it cannot be routinely used in Clinical Biochemistry labs (4). The absorption of light by normal bilirubin (4Z,15Z bilirubin) results in the creation of 2 isomeric forms of bilirubin: structural isomer (Z lumirubin) and configurational isomer (4Z,15 E bilirubin). Both these structural and configurational isomers of bilirubin have substantially different chemical and light absorption properties than bilirubin, are less lipophilic than normal bilirubin and can be excreted into bile without undergoing glucuronidation in the liver. The absorption of light by bilirubin also results in the generation of excited state bilirubin molecules that react with oxygen to produce colorless oxidation, or photooxidation products. The rate of formation of bilirubin photoproducts is highly dependent on the intensity and wavelengths of the light used (13). The most efficient wavelength for the isomerization of bilirubin is approximately 450 nm, whether applied to the fluid samples for testing or the treatment of jaundice. Wavelengths that fall within the range of 400 nm 500 nm, and more specifically 445 nm 475 nm are known to effect isomerization (14). The blue lights are chosen for light emission wavelengths of approximately 450 to 530 nm, which is the optimal range of light absorption for bilirubin. During his reign as US President, Franklin D. Roosevelt realized that his desire to reform the health sector would require the backing of the people for it to pass through Congress. His tenure between 1933 and 1945 was characterized by the Great Depression, World War I, and the New Deal that included the Social Security Bill (Physicians for a National Health Program, 1999). Inner Ring Essay Arroyo 1 Alex Arroyo Professor Ledri Aguilar English 120 30 August 2013 Inner Rings and the Motives that Come Along C.S Lewis delivered a speech named The Inner Ring at King s College, a University in London. As Lewis continues on in his speech, one may be a little thrown off by what these inner rings are and what exactly they mean to people. Although Lewis mentions both good and harmful inner rings, one could argue that most people find themselves so caught up in these inner rings they do not even realize they are trying to be involved in them for the wrong reasons. Some people strive to have a certain appearance that comes along with being involved in these inner rings that they tend to forget what really is important to them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these inner rings are the reason we have competition, jealously and spite in the world. It is not right for one to feel left out just because they do not have certain traits or don t have the same views as another. Lewis even acknowledges this with his passage, Unless you take measures to prevent it, this desire is going to be one of the chief motives of your life, from the first day on which you enter your profession until the day when you are too old to care (Lewis 152). An example of today s inner ring would be fraternities at Colleges. People who aren t part of a certain fraternity would feel left out when they see the Frat s doing activities only Frat members are allowed to do. This might make one feel the need to fit in and do certain things they do not enjoy just to be accepted in a fraternity. Although this particular example does not apply to everybody, it still does not hide these inner rings because they can be found everywhere. Arroyo 4 Another example of an inner ring existing is social class in itself. Rich hang out with the rich, poor hang out with the poor. People obviously have different circumstances that make their social class rich or poor, but the ring still exists. Lower class people feel left out when they see the upper class driving nicer cars, eating expensive dinners, and living in expensive homes. Thus, there is a need for promoting trust and confidence on the Internet. For consumers, security and privacy issues are seen as barriers to shopping online (Windham Orton, 2000). They want their identity and personal information to be confidential, due to fear of being exposed to online fraud (Petrovic et al., 2003). People are more willing to take risks with people or organizations which they trust. The potential risk in e commerce is greater because of the anonymity, distance and lack of physical interactions (Cazier, Shao St. Louis, 2006). Many elements of personal interaction that are used in the offline environment, for example, facial expression, gesture and body language, are lost or not applicable in an online environment (Grabner Kräuter Kaluscha, 2003). Many consumers appreciate the real shopping experience of touching things and trying items on. So, in order to understand why people do or do not engage in e commerce activities, it is important to study online trust (Cazier et al., 2006). Trust is an essential tool for a transaction to take place, both in an online and offline environment.
