UML (Unified Modeling Language) is used to design and layout many aspects of code and syntax. It includes diagrams like use case diagrams, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, and collaboration diagrams that can be used to model interactions with a website, lay out page hierarchies and interlinking, and design how users will interact with and access elements of a site. The document provides examples of how sequence diagrams and use case diagrams can be used to design a simple 5-page personal website covering topics like an index page, about the author, their school, favorite films, and sports/music interests.
