The HQ-9 is China's new generation medium- to long-range air defense missile system. under maximum load are important criteria for design andanalysis. In these projects, we
havecalculated the von mises stress and shear stress for the chassis frame and the finite element
analysis has been donefor the validation on the chassis frame model of jeep. We have taken certain
material as Mild sheet steel, aluminium alloy and titanium alloy for the rectangular hollow box type to
design chassis frame of jeep.
Software used in this project, CATIA V5-[Product 1] for design purpose and ANSYS 14 is used for
analysis.

Introduction • The HQ-9 is China’s new generation medium- to long-range,active radar homing air defencemissile. • The land-based HQ-9 system has ananti- radiation variant, known as the FT-2000 for export. • The American Congress responded by blocking all American funds for the integration of the Chinese systems into NATO defenses.

Design • The most basic formation of a HQ-9 batteries consisted of one Type 305B search radar, one tracking radar, one 200 kW Diesel generator truck, and eight Transporter erector launchers(TELs) each with 4 missiles, totaling 32 rounds ready to fire. • These equipments are usually mounted on Tai'an trucks. • This basic formation can be expanded into more capable larger formation.
