Celador is a British production company that was founded by Paul Smith and acquired by Complete Communication and later 2waymedia. It owns the TV show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and has had success funding productions through licensing deals and legal settlements. Film 4 co-finances up to half of productions and is required to fund seven films per year as part of its BBC license. Celador has partnered with Film 4 and sold rights to productions to obtain funding. While its crews are freelance to control costs, Celador's ownership of intellectual property has allowed it to fund future productions.
