The Effect Of Flicker Paradigm On Visual Perception
Discussion The purpose of the study was to measure the effect that the Flicker Paradigm had on visual
perception. The Flicker Paradigm causes a distraction while there is a change made in the image. It
was designed to test how long the groups took to react to a change in the visual field. The test is meant
to show that the disturbance in the visual field made it much more challenging for the viewer to notice
any changes that were made in the image. The hypothesis stated that the experimental group, the
group using the Flicker Paradigm, would take longer to notice the change in the visual field than the
control group, which had no flicker between the altered images. This is because the disturbance in the
visual field caused the brain to miss the change that was made to the image because the information
was deemed as unimportant. The majority of the perceived changes occurred in the background of the
scene, and were considered minor in reference to the whole scene. This was proven true from the data
collected, and coincided with previous tests. (Rensink, R. A. 2000). The data in tables 1.1 and 1.3
shows the individual participant data for the test with a flicker for both tests one and two. Tables 1.2
and 1.4 represent the individual results for the tests with no flicker, or the control group. Graphs 1.1
and 1.2 showed the relationship between the time taken to recognize alterations in the images. The
data was taken from the average time to recognize the change from all

Reflection On Learning Experience
Session 1 I am thinking about all of the areas of improvement I have the opportunity to take advantage
of during my time at my practicum. My field instructor reviews all of my call logs, which at first I was
unsure as to why she would take so much tie during supervision instead of focusing on something
else. I now understand that in order to provide proper feedback and help me grow as a social worker, it
is important she read my call notes. While my field instructor is reviewing my call notes, I have time
to reflect on my calls. This helps me to think back on how I handle the situation and formulate
possible areas for growth. I am feeling somewhat unsure of my relationship with my field instructor
after this supervision meeting. Although she provides great feedback, I still am learning her style and
trying to understand where I may stand with her. I think I am very lucky however, I have heard some
of my classmates talk about struggles or disagreements with their field instructor, and I have not
experienced this. I am also feeling thankful for my education, as I feel it has prepared me to stand out
as a student in my practicum. Each time I have a moment where I realize or understand how I could
have better handled a situation with a caller, I am able to process that in my brain and use it next time
I am on the lines. Using my journal during supervision sessions really helps with this matter; I am able
to review suggestions from my field instructor before my shifts. Since I have identified being unsure
of my relationship with my field instructor, I will continue to be conscious of ques from her, this will
help me gain a better grasp of our relationship. I welcome feedback from my field instructor in all
areas. She is my mentor and I can tell she is truly interested in helping me grow as a professional. I
very much enjoy the fact that she starts all of her feedback by giving positive, strengths before
providing areas for growth. This allows me to see that I have things I am very good at and that I am
effectively learning. It also shows me that I am a student and have areas where I can strengthen my
skills. I am not sure I am overly sensitive to suggestions from my field instructor.

The Coefficient Of Friction And The Deceleration Of An Object
Research Question
How is the coefficient of friction between two surfaces related to the deceleration of an object?
Introduction
Besides for the fact that friction is a drag (pun intended), humans have utilised this motion opposing
force, to its greatest potential. One of the most prevalent things, though generally perceived as
overused, the automobile, could be considered the epitome of friction utilization. The principles of
friction applies to everything, especially that to that of a car s tires. Suppose if they were perfectly
smooth, and to make matters worse, the road was perfectly smooth as well, the vehicle would keep
moving forward when the driver attempted to stop, due to Newton s law of inertia. For this reason,
tires are designed with raised tread to maintain a high degree of friction, gripping the road tightly and
dispersing water when the roadway is wet.
Friction is quite fundamental, seemingly elemental, the automobile is riddled with friction usage.
From the friction caused by tyres to the friction in the car, making it possible to drive at all. The
¬capabilities do not end there, but with possibly the most underrated use of friction, a match,
something any Neanderthal would have appreciated. [6]
Friction in Bitumen and Sandpaper
This experimental investigation endeavours to replicate the friction caused by different surfaces of a
road. Therefore this experimental investigation requires similar surfaces to be compared. Bitumen can
vary in the amount

Moving To Toronto Essay
After graduating high school in June, I plan on moving back to my birth city to study Materials
Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto. After not living in Toronto since I was a baby
and have absolutely no memories from then, I hope that I will be able to seamlessly adapt to the
different environment. I am certain that I will struggle with the cold for at least my freshman year, but
I still think I will be able to get used to it.
Moving to Toronto as of September will be quite difficult because of the distance of over 2.5 thousand
miles and not knowing anybody who lives there. I will have a completely fresh start in my social life,
which can both be a good and a bad thing. Although I will be leaving my friends, I will be able to
create and form new friend groups and gain a newer perspective on matters by communicating and
spending time with a larger variety of people. Given the fact that the University of Toronto has over
80,000 students, I have no doubt in my mind that I ll be able to meet a wide range of people with
different cultures and backgrounds.
My future university is located in the center of downtown Toronto and therefore, I am looking forward

The University of Toronto is ranked 16th in the world by USNews and from what I ve read and heard
from my dad, an alum of the school, it seems as though doing well academically is very difficult. The
grading scale with deflation makes it extremely difficult to meet my goals of success, but I am willing
to take on the challenge. As I will be majoring in Materials Science and Engineering, I plan on also
spending some of my time on doing undergraduate research work in a lab and also taking advantage of
the internships and study abroad programs offered by the university so that I can establish a strong

Psychological Perspective on Antwone Fisher Essay
Antwone Fisher was an individual that endured so many things. He faced a lot of challenges that may
have seemed impossible to recover from. This story was an example of the many things that some
children may experience. Antwone was not raised in an upper crust home. He did not grow up in a
home in which his mother and father was present. Instead of having positive role models, he had to
live with individuals that were abusive to him. When observing Antwone s personality, one may refer
to two different theorists such as Bandura and Rogers. Bandura s theory uses the social learning
approach. This approach would explain that Antwone was a product of what he saw. This showed in
the behaviors that he displayed. This approach derives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, Bandura puts emphasis on self efficacy. This concept means that an individual should feel as if
they are capable of excelling and being efficient in life (Schultz Schultz, 2013). People low in self
efficacy feels helpless, unable to exercise control over life events (Schultz Schultz, 2013, p. 338). As
Antwone got older, he joined the Navy, but he never faced his past. The models that were around
Antwone taught him to not trust or be intimate with another woman. However, a young woman named
Cheryl was the only one that Antwone began to grow close to. Antwone later revealed to his
counselor, Dr. Jerome Davenport, that he was a virgin because of his previous experiences of being
molested. As the movie progressed, one may begin to understand that Antwone was beginning to be
controlled by his past. Bandura s goal in developing his social cognitive theory was to modify or
change those learned behaviors that society considers undesirable and abnormal (Schultz Schultz,
2013, p. 341). Some other experiences that Antwone went through included being tortured with fire,
tired up for punishment, and beaten. When a counselor is trying to address fears and phobias in a
client, one may need to use a technique called guided participation (Schultz Schultz, 2013). The
technique is used for other models to be observed (Schulz Schultz, 2013). Dr. Davenport, Antwone s

Young Women In The Coquette By Eliza Wharton
In Hannah W. Foster s, The Coquette, Eliza Wharton is portrayed as a woman of status, above average
intelligence and education, with a flirtatious nature. Though the author does not cast her in an
antagonistic light, her manner is painted as foolish, flippant to 18th century social conventions, and
lacking in forethought. As such, The Coquette should be viewed as a literary warning for young
women of the day, especially those who may have shared undesirable attributes with Eliza. It is the
novel s intent, by way of Eliza s thoughts and actions, to discourage young women from pursuing a
fleeting and non virtuous lifestyle. Through the novel, Foster acts as a moral guide to young women
by persuading them to obey social conventions like entering into dutiful marriage, refraining from
political and public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In portraying the dichotomy of virtue between Boyer and Sanford, Foster means to convey the moral
sense in courting a chaste man like Boyer, and the great error in pursuing a libertine like Sanford. It is
Foster s intent to show Eliza s carefree indecision as a hindrance to her true happiness and ultimately
as the reason for losing Boyer. Conversely, Peter Sanford acts as a moral foil to the virtue of Reverend
Boyer; he is charming, but manipulative, deceptive, and rakish. It is the author s intent to portray
Major Sanford as the type of man to which women of inconsistent virtue were likely to be drawn.
Eliza is shown as not caring about Sanford s past indiscretions (and ultimately suffering for it), saying
a reformed rake makes the best husband (Foster, p.49). The social convention of the day was for
women to marry quickly and smartly; it is Foster s intent to illustrate how a woman active in society
life and frivolous in her affairs will ultimately end up being a woman with no

The Civil War And The 19th Century Essay
The 19th century was one of the most troubling times in human history. Things like the civil war, child
labor and even slavery helped shape the literary culture from 1850 1900. The civil war was a war
fought between the Northern and Southern States in the United States of America. Among the 34
states in January 1861, seven Southern slave states individually declared their secession from the
United States of America and formed the Confederate States of America. The first state to secede was
south carolina after the election of president lincoln in 1860. After South Carolina seceded, the cotton
states of Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas followed, seceding in January
and February 1861. Union and Confederate leadership and fighting soldiers on both sides believed that
slavery caused the Civil War. Union men mainly believed the war was to emancipate the slaves.
Confederates fought to protect southern society, and slavery as a part of it. Sectionalism refers to the
different economies, social structure, culture and customs and values of the North and South. While
the south based their economy off of slave labor and plantation agriculture, the North was urbanizing,
industrializing and had feigned slavery out of existence. Southern slaveholding states, because of their
low cost labor, had little need for industrialization. While the North highly invested in its
industrialization, could not compete with the industries of Europe in offering high prices

Personal Narrative-My First President Bill Clinton
I found myself in bar in downtown alexandria, the day before president elect donald trump would be
sworn into office as the 45th president of the united states. I was enjoying a beer when conversation
between a stranger and myself manifested in the way that conversations at bars do spontaneously. His
name was john and surprisingly he attended jmu just a few years ago. We made small talk and relished
in what a coincidence it was to have met each other. It wasn t long before the conversation turned
political, not a surprise for the dc metro area and especially with the election just a day away. I liked
john, he seemed like a nice guy, however i found myself in strong disagreement with his political

resist and called trump a fascist, but when questioned on the definition of fascism, didn t know it; alas
the ignorance is nonpartisan. Protesters were heard chanting blocks away during Trump s speech,
although faint. Quickly after i made my way to the protests, not necessarily to take part, but to witness
just as i witnessed the inauguration. At mcpherson square in dc there was quite a large gathering, and
michael moore gave a speech to inspire us into action. As i walked around taking the experience in, i
noticed a couple young trump supporters with their red hats on, being surrounded by a group of
protesters dressed in all black. Things turned violent, with water bottles being thrown, then rocks, and
eventually one was kicked to the ground. I helped him up, and escorted him away from the hostile
protesters but just as we were clear, a masked man hit him with a stick from a nearby tree. My initial
instinct was to go after him, and i lunged, however i second guessed myself and attended to the fallen

Why Did Latin American Culture Change
Nueva Granada, now known as Colombia, covered a vast majority of northwest South America. Until
Spain colonized Nueva Granada, the individual tribes had successful government and social
structures. Once colonized, the daily life of the people of New Granada was completely changed. The
changes in every aspect of their lives can be shown by looking at how Colombia was before, during,
and after its colonization. Colombia is a country on the northwest coast of South America. Colombia
shares a border with Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Panama. The Caribbean Sea is to its north
and the Pacific Ocean is to its west (Sturner). Before Nueva Granada was colonized, Nueva Granada
was inhabited by the Chibcha Indians. The Chibcha Indians were divided ... Show more content on

Public land was assigned to the government or the military. Many separatists movements developed in
the late 1700 s because of this. On July 20th, 1810, New Granada finally gained its independence from
Spain. One of the most important people who took part in the fight for independence was Simon
Bolivar. Bolivar renamed Nueva Granada Colombia (Sturner). Today in Colombia you can still see
many long term effects that colonization has caused. For example, the majority of the population is
mixed indigenous and white. Also, 81% of people in Colombia are Roman Catholic. The official
language of Colombia is Spanish (Retsema). Today, there are still effects from Spain that can be seen

The New Way Of Life And Culture On The Lower East Side...
It goes without saying that all things, miniscule or monumental, are bound to become subject of
change. Change can be caused by a number of things, but for the women who s tales were recanted in
Immigrant Women in the Land of Dollars: Life and Culture on the Lower East Side 1890 1925 written
by Elizabeth Ewen, change was especially imminent as they were forced to exchange the old ways of
their native countries for the new ways of America. Immigrant women s lives were completely altered,
as they had to adjust to American culture in an innumerable amount of ways; they specifically saw
change in how they perceived leisure and luxury, their views on marriage and roles as wives, and also
their expectations as daughters.
The first, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On a trip to the Upper East Side, Maria Ganz, a Jewish girl who had been growing up in a Jewish
tenement community, saw the stark differences between the two sides of Manhattan; the contrast she
saw between uptown wealth and ... the tenement districts led her to see things in new ways (Ewen 21).
The social environment of America was drastically different than what these immigrant women were
used to; in America there were distinct social classes that were completely defined by how much
money one had, or didn t have; while in Europe they had of course dealt in money, but also dealt in
barter or kind (Ewen 23) while in America everything was measure in money terms (Ewen 23). This is
not to say that middle class immigrant women did not have their own form of luxury; while their day
to day lives were still reminiscent of nineteenth century life, many women indulged in meals at
tasteful restaurants, shopping at department stores, and finding more affordable variations of Fifth
Avenue inspired fashion looks. While immigrant women and families may have been discouraged to
find that a life of extravagance and ease, as the American dream had promised, may not be a viable
option; it was certainly not impossible for these women to adapt to the American culture and find their
of versions of luxury.
Immigrant women in this era also saw a change in how the idea of romance and marriage correlated as
well as how they were expected to act as wives.

The Remains Of The Day
Protagonists of novels should be relatable and realistic. They should be individuals with whom readers
can easily identify, and consequently should be painted with as much humanity as possible. Mr.
Stevens, the protagonist of Kazuo Ishiguro s novel The Remains of the Day, is no exception. He is
meant to be an incredibly human character, and consequently it makes sense that the reader should
seek to define his flaws and limits, and whether or not he exhibits spiritual imprisonment , as Robert
Stone terms it. Of course, it is necessary to identify exactly what spiritual imprisonment is. At its core,
spiritual imprisonment can be defined as someone being restricted by someone or something else from
pursuing what they value. The character of Stevens that Ishiguro draws in his short narrative, and the
personal values that Stevens subtly exhibits, suggest that Stevens, while misguided in his values for a
large portion of the book, is free to pursue those values, and consequently is not spiritually
imprisoned.
Before delving further into an analysis of Ishiguro s protagonist, it is absolutely necessary to identify
exactly what Stevens values. He values and meditates on throughout the entirety of the novel dignity.
Specifically, Stevens posit[s] that dignity has to do crucially with a butler s ability not to abandon the
professional being he inhabits (Ishiguro, 42). Moreover, he reflects that the great butlers are great by
virtue of their ability to inhabit their

The Lord Of The Ring Essay
It takes time for a person to developed, no one knows who they are from the very beginning.
People/characters go through events in their life that changes them for better or for worse. In The Lord
of the Ring by J.R.R Tolkien we encounter many character that shows growth but one character that
develops for the better is Aragorn. The first thing we are told about Aragorn is from Gandalf letter to
Frodo Not all gold glitter which tells the reader to not underestimate him, but when Aragorn is first
introduced in the story, we assume he is just a ranger and nothing more, he doesn t seem like someone
which much help or of use but it turns out that he is actually Isildur heir which makes him the rightful
king of Gondor, and as we later see in the novel one of the biggest help they could of find. Aragorn s
character grows so much from his motivation to protect middle earth, his interaction with the people
around him and finally his acceptance as role of king. The first key characteristic for Aragorn
character would have to be his motivation to protect middle earth form Sauron evil. Throughout the
novel we see how Aragorn motivation encourages him and pushes him to continue on with his mission
and the journey. His first mission was to get Frodo to Mordor to destroy the ring. which he does with
the company of the ring. but even when they get separated Aragorn does not let the journey end. He

Values in quot; The Chosen quot; Essays
Throughout my reading of the novel, The Chosen, by Chaim Potok, and I definitely did read it, I
found three distinct values to be evident. Friendship, individuality and religion were very focused on
and even shaped the lives of the two main characters. Each of these values have a big impact on my
life not only since I have come to Augustana, but every day since I can remember.
To define friendship is not easy. It is so many things and so many feelings. It is kindness, compassion,
honesty, trustworthiness, respect and dependability. It is being there for another person when they
need you, whether to listen or to help guide them in the right direction. It is standing beside them
when it is their time to shine and also when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout our lives we will need friends. Even when we fall in love and embrace ourselves in that
companionship, we will still need friends to keep a part of our individuality.
Individuality is another value from the book that I believe plays an important role in everyday life.
Both boys in the book wanted to pursue careers different than what their father wanted for them. They
both wanted to lead their own lives, to be their own individuals. It is important to know who you are
and what you want so you don t get lost in everyone else s expectations, and lose your sense of self.
While some people are dieing to be exactly what everyone else is, they fail to realize how different
everyone else really is. Each person has different dreams, aspirations, needs and wants. Every person
has their own taste in clothing, food, music, cars, books and even other people. However, individuality
is sometimes the very thing that defers us from seeking out friendship in other people. The way people
look, talk dress and like as a way of expressing themselves, sometimes separates them from others. I
ve always tried to see through the cloth to see the inner workings of other people and I am often
surprised to find that my first impression was so wrong. Individuality is very important as it sets one
person apart from the next. It makes everyone unique and special.
The last value present is religion. Religion while very important to some plays a smaller

The Human Struggle In Yasujiro Ozu s Tokyo Story
Generations don t battle, they mostly clash into each other. We see this in our very own lives, where
parents bring up their past and say, If only you knew how good you have it! . This will forever be
somewhat a problem in the past, present, and future of our lives. One generation will always be
underestimated or beyond correct then the other. In Yasujiro Ozu s film Tokyo Story we see constant
clashing of the elderly and the youth. Ozu s message of how the generations have changed is a way of
him defining to us what the human struggle is. Due to the character s actions in the way they treat each
other we can pick up on the struggles that they are having and see the human struggle in the film. At
the start of the film, Ozu shows us two of the main characters of the film; Shukichi and Tomi. We see
them packing their bags to go on a trip. They are going to see their children whom, they haven t seen
in a long while. We can see that Ozu is showing us that becoming old is one struggle that most
humans fear, but of course it must occur in our lives. When the old slow couple are packing, Shukichi
asks Tomi where the inflatable pillow is and Tomi responds and says that she gave it to him. With
aging comes forgetfulness and stubbornness; and when Tomi says she gave it to him he starts to say no
you didn t, you still have it. Later we see it appear in his bag where he said it wasn t and nothing is
said when he finds it. It is simply brushed away with no argument to follow. Ozu shows

Why Are Myths Still Relevant To Today
Myths still endure today, because it sets a moral cod, explains natural phenomenon, and entertains the
reader. One reason mythology sill endures is because it sets a moral code for future people to follow.
For example in the story Achene, the wise goddess Athena turns Arachne into a arachnid, because
Arachne was being very cocky, arrogant, and rude, cause Athena to kick Arachne off her high horse .
Athena tells Arachne to live on wicked girl, live on and spin you and your decedents (Coolidge 51). A
second reason mythology is still relevant is because is explains natural phenomenon. For example in
the story Pandora, Curiosity truly kills the cat because Pandora opens a do not open box, which
releases all the terrible things in this world,

How Music Should Be Too Much Power And Sway
Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud, and Tidal, What do all of these have in common? They are all

much power and sway which gives them the chance to charge these outrageous monthly prices. Here

In regards to the finances, our company will need a start up of approximately $220,000. This start up
funding is crucial in ensuring we hire the correct personnel to keep our business sustainable. Most
software engineers, have an average salary of around $100,000 which will be the bulk of our
expenses. After that, we just have to pay employee salaries which will be somewhere around $25,000
in that first year. Our long term goal is to allow our users, specifically the ones who will be uploading
their original works, the opportunity to copyright their music. We understand that in the early stages of
our business, we can expect to have a spectrum of music quality ranging from potential hits, all the
way to songs that are often overlooked or ignored. With that in mind, we know that we should push
off all copyrights until we have enough of a following, much like a Soundcloud or Spotify. We want to
hopefully bring in the concept of copyrighting into our 3 5 year plan. This idea will eliminate any
headaches from users having any potential complaints on the subject of copyrights. The human
resources we will need aside from the software engineer will have to be employees who take care of
the day to day operations in regards to user feedback, and ensuring that we

Magical Realism In The Virgin Suicide

Shostak acknowledges Eugenides writing as a call for change within the modern era. Shostak details
the Lisbon Girls and their suicides as a great metaphor: representing what is wrong with the country ,
being the novel s ultimate scapegoat [...] predicting the forthcoming decadence , or suicide to reflect
the natural deaths due to industrialization (207). Shostak sees many reasons for Eugenides writing
about the tragic death of young girls. Primarily, Eugenides is depicting the younger generation as
morally corrupted. Shostak argues Eugenides writes with a greater purpose than to sadden his
audience with horrible stories. Shostak argues Eugenides writes with the purpose to educate his
reader: to send morally equipped readers to face a corrupted world armed with opinions and an
understanding of tragedy. The Virgin Suicides raises awareness of teen suicide. Eugenides begins
many conversations with his works, particularly this dark love story, with underlying notions to our
disappointing world.

Counter fit ?
Cosmetics are seen everywhere in the market nowadays. Those who care a lot about how they present
themselves to other people would definitely buy them out of need. These products are often sold at a
high price and this is a problem to those who cannot afford them.
However, recently, products of the same name but different price have been popping up in the market.
Consumers all around the world would notice that these products are priced lower than the usual.
These cheaper products would most probably be counterfeited beauty products.
Counterfeited products are imitations of the real thing but usually sold in a reduced price. The reason
why people still buy counterfeited products is because who would want to resist a bargain? Bargain
prices are something good to us but considering what would happen if we buy and use these
counterfeits, it would not be worth it. Even though they look the same, these counterfeits are far from
the original. Therefore, it is only right that people should take proper measures to avoid buying
counterfeit make up and beauty products because they are harmful to our health, impacts the economy
negatively and are linked with other illegal
Activities.
Firstly, counterfeited beauty products should be avoided because they have been found to be
associated with bringing harm to the consumers well being. The reason for this is mainly because
these fake products do not go along with the

Students With An Optimum Learning Experience By Creating A...
Chapter Two: Literature Review
Introduction
Professionals in the field of education want to provide students with an optimum learning experience
by creating a favorable atmosphere (Lane McWhirter, 1992). Dauber and Epstein stated that a healthy
learning environment in school can lead to academic achievement (as cited in J. Noaks L. Noaks,
2009). Within existing educational structure opportunities for empowerment of students is limited,
according to Wyness (as cited in Sellman, 2011). Educators spend more time teaching pupils how to
be good citizens when they grow up instead of providing them opportunities to engage in civic duties
at school (Sellman, 2011). Students are citizen too and should be held accountable for improving their
own lives, working conditions, and relationships. This literature review is presented under the
following subheadings: conflict, conflict resolution, peer mediation research, benefits of peer
mediation, and peer mediation downfalls. The purpose of this literature review is to understand what
conflict is and how it can be resolved peacefully. Conflict resolution can be taught using peer
mediation framework to guide teachers and students. Peer mediation can be a positive experience for
students but there are specific points to consider before implementation of a peer mediation program
at school.

The New Liberal Arts
In today s generation college students struggle to attend higher education. Tuition has been higher than
ever before to attend college. This is true, college students battle to go to college. A book that I read
They Say, I say mentions, many families are indeed struggling, in depths of recession, to pay for their
children s college eduction. (Sanford, 191). Paying for college funds affect families as well as the
student. The title provides the basic to justifying the claim. The title can grave the readers attention in
the first paragraph or have them hurtle away. The title of Sanford, The New Liberal Arts catches the
readers attention. The word New made the reader want to know what was the new liberal arts. So the
reader will dig into the first page to find out what the new liberal arts is. The claim is what the writer
is trying to say to the reader also know as the main idea of the reading. Sanford s claim is that liberal
arts is a better investment based on his experience although is cost the most. Sanford say, a liberal arts
degree is a luxury that most families no longer afford. That being said Sanford claim is strong because
he gives examples to support his claim throughout the chapter. An arguable opposition was that
students are taking shorts cuts to well paying job. Although this may be a good idea they are job that
may have a deed end. Sanford disagrees with taking short cuts because they do not teach critical

Former Auditor Sues Bank Of Internet
I did my paper on the article Ex auditor Sues Bank of Internet by Peter Eavis and he wrote the article
for the New York Times. Peter Eavis has written a couple of articles for the New York Times about
Bank of Internet USA. Bank of Internet USA is just like the name says, is a bank that provides its
services over the internet so it is always open because it is online. It was created in 1999 and now has
over $6 billion in assets. Most of their business comes from loans on expensive mortgages.
The article is about a former internal auditor, Matt Erhart, who thought that there might have been
some shady things happening behind the scenes at Bank of Internet. Bank of Internet provides loans
and mortgages to well off persons who do not have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Eavis)
According to Gilliamlaw, Erhart s complaint had various wrongdoings that he brought to management
and federal regulators. Other than the two mentioned above in the summary, Bank of Internet made
threats to Erhart saying if he continues to turn over rocks, eventually he s going to find a snake and he
s going to get bit. (Gilliamlaw) This type of behavior is unethical, corrupt, and unprofessional. This
was not the only threat towards Erhart, there was a threat to have Erhart arrested by the police for
informing the federal regulators of what he has found. Erhart was also told by an employee that CEO
Garrabrants was telling employees that he intended to bury the BOFI whistleblower . (Gillamlaw)
According to Orzeck, some of the corporations that regulates Bank of Internet are the Office of the
comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission.
Some of the stakeholders that were affected by this suit were the employees of Bank of Internet,
creditors that rely on the financial statements for interest rates and credit scores and the shareholders
of the company. The employees feel as if they are not safe anymore now because the Whistleblower
Protection Act of 1989 was supposed to protect Erhart but instead he was harassed and threatened.
Employees may be reluctant to act on their own moral judgment since it might go against

Health IT Consultants
After extensive research and a great deal of thinking I believe Consulting is my desired career path.
With a major shift towards electronic health records in the healthcare industry, Health IT consultants
are of high significance and are rapidly becoming one of the more vital and in demand professions.
Working on various projects throughout undergrad as well as graduate school, I have come to realize
that the consulting role is a role that I d be a very good fit for. Health IT consultants are responsible
for several tasks. From overseeing clinical application systems to managing and administering
databases, there are a lot of duties and responsibilities of Health IT consultants. This role can include
responsibilities related to all aspects of the clinical information system, from implementation and

When considering an implementation plan, consultants are the face of the company. When a project is
being implemented, consultants are the individuals who represent the company who is hired to do the
implementation. So their role is crucial. When undergoing an implementation plan, they are
accountable for administering each of the phases of the implementation so that the necessary activities
take place as scheduled and at the anticipated level of quality with effective involvement of all those
individuals taking part in the implementation. The consultants are also responsible for creating a
detailed work plan for the implementation. This plan must include appropriate tasks and these tasks
must be allocated to the right individuals. Consultants will also add value to the project, they bring
their prior experiences and knowledge about implementations. During implementation, since they
know what will work and what wont, they eliminate the trial and error method of implementation and

Introduction
A man was running walking to his destination and came across a mountain. He could hear the sounds
of those who were chasing him. The mountain like a colossus stood defiantly in his path. All that he
had was a rope and no equipment to climb the mountain. It was either climb the mountain or risk
being caught. There was no other way to reach his destination. He looked at the mountain and made a
decision. He placed his hand upon the rock and started his ascent up the mountain.
Some people saw the man climbing the mountain from a distance and laughed at him. The man
ignored his critics and moved upon the rock. Inch by inch, he climbed the mountain. Soon his hands
were sore, his feet hurting but he kept on climbing. He had no resources but his rope, his strength and
his mind. Many hours later, he stood upon the summit of the mountain. He did not climb the mountain
because the mountain was there. He climbed the mountain with no resources because he had no
choice.
Growth Hackers like the man climbing the mountain have to grow rapidly because they

Summary Of Fairy Tales From Angela Carter Burning Your Boats
In this essay, I will be discussing different elements of fairy tales from Angela Carter Burning your
Boats. I will be discussing The Loves of Lady Purple, Penetrating to the Heart of the Forest, The
Bloody Chamber and The Werewolf. Between the four of these stories, they displace a wide variety of
feminism that the Grimm Brothers and Anderson did not display.
From reading The Loves of Lady Purple, this story didn t resemble a normal fairy tale, this story
resembles gothic literature. Lady Purple was no princess, she was no queen of a kingdom or a castle,
she was a cruel, vicious person. Lady purple was a vampire and Angela Carter described her as, white
as chalk because it was covered with the skin of supplest white leather which also clothes her torso,
jointed limbs and complication of extremities. Her beautiful hands seemed more like weapons because
her nails were so long, five inches of pointed tin enameled scarlet, and she wore a wig of black hair
arranged in a chignon more heavily elaborate than any human neck could have endured. This
monumental chevelure was stuck through with many brilliant pins tipped with pieces of broken mirror
so that, every time she moved, she cast a multitude of scintillating reflections which danced about the
theatre like mice of light. Her clothes were all of deep, dark, slumberous colors profound pinks,
crimson and the vibrating purple with which she was synonymous, a purple the color of bloods in a
love suicide (Carter, p. 43, 1995).
Lady Purple was not a typical woman in a fairy tale, if you want to call this story a fairy tale. In most
fairy tales, women are passive, their hardly paid attention to, they re expected look a certain and act a
certain way. Their Lady Purple was none of that, she was cruel, manipulative, she was not a true
prostitute for she was the object on which men prostituted themselves. In most fairy tales, woman are
portrayed as vampires who are gold diggers, but Lady Purple was in this case.
I think the reason why Angela Carter wrote this story was to step away from the fairy tale approach.
From reading this story, I did not pick up on any fairy tale elements. When I was reading this story, I
thought there would be a love interest between Lady

Exegesis Abram was a man of seventy five years when we received his call. The readers are
introduced to the call of Abram who at that time was called by this name.
The text comes after the story of creation in Genesis, and before the destruction of Sodom and
Gomorra. The book of Genesis is said to belong to many different traditions, and therefore, is said to
be a narrative. This book is a collection of oral and written records.
Genesis 3 records mankind s disobedience to God which was eating the forbidden fruit. Genesis 4
mentions about Cain killing his brother Abel, another act of disobedience that he should not have
chosen to be a part of. Later in Genesis 5, we read about humankind s sins and the story of the flood
that took place in Noah s time. Further, Genesis mentions humankind s another big act, the incident of
the Tower of Babel. All these were the bad incidents and it is in Genesis 12:1 4 that we get to see what
God initiating a call is about.
One commentary states concerning a call wherever the call was issued, its substance was the same: he

Asylum Seeker Rights
The process, effectiveness and limitations of the human rights system in protecting asylum seeker
rights.
It is widely accepted that Governments are primarily responsible for guaranteeing the basic human
rights of their citizens, however when a person becomes an asylum seeker they lose this State based
support and protection often it may not have been there in the first place. Without the assistance of
other States this vulnerable group of individuals can be open to persecution and violations of their
rights at home and abroad (UNHCR, 2015, np). Whilst providing a solutions based focus for the rights
of asylum seekers, it is argued that the current scope of the Convention Relating to the Status of

Societal Values In Homer s Iliad And Women In Genesis
The women in Homer s Iliad and the women in Genesis both exhibit the accepted societal values in a
woman through their duties as wives, which typically consisted of obedience and the ability to sustain
their husband s lineage. Rebekah and Andromache both assume their roles as wives, but sometimes act
in ways outside of the what was considered normal in their society. Though both Rebekah and
Andromache maintain the classic role of a wife, they occasionally contradict the expectations of how a
woman should behave by making decisions traditionally made by men. Through revolutionary
behaviors demonstrated by both women, they grant themselves more authority and power in decision
making, which in turn affects the fate of each woman s family. Both Andromache and Rebekah share a
parallel in terms of their roles in carrying out the fate of their families, however what ultimately
distinguishes one from the other is how successful they are at sustaining those roles.
In the Iliad, Homer displays societal norms placed for wives through the actions of Andromache, yet
at the same time, conveys her as having more power and involvement in the family than what was
expected for a woman at the time to have. In her encounter with her husband, Hector, Andromache
establishes one of her main roles of trying to manipulate fate (moira) through attempting to prevent
him from returning to the war and facing his inevitable death. She pleas for him to show some pity
and stay here by the tower, don t

Questions On The Robotic Fundamentals Module
This document explains my approach to solve the coursework questions for the Robotic Fundamentals
module. The coursework is divided into three different parts. The first part of the coursework asks to
derive the forward and inverse kinematics of a serial manipulator (Lynxmotion arm AL5B) and plot its
workspace and trajectories. The second part asks to develop a kinematic simulation of the parallel
robot. The third part is an open ended relevant topic. Matlab software is used here to create model for
simulation. 2. Serial Robot Kinematics (Part 1) The 5 degree of freedom Lynxmotion arm AL5B
consists of a base, a shoulder, a elbow, a wrist, a wrist rotation and a gripper. To analysis its
kinematics, we need to first know the relationship between each link of the robot arms. Figure 2.0

  • 2. The Effect Of Flicker Paradigm On Visual Perception Discussion The purpose of the study was to measure the effect that the Flicker Paradigm had on visual perception. The Flicker Paradigm causes a distraction while there is a change made in the image. It was designed to test how long the groups took to react to a change in the visual field. The test is meant to show that the disturbance in the visual field made it much more challenging for the viewer to notice any changes that were made in the image. The hypothesis stated that the experimental group, the group using the Flicker Paradigm, would take longer to notice the change in the visual field than the control group, which had no flicker between the altered images. This is because the disturbance in the visual field caused the brain to miss the change that was made to the image because the information was deemed as unimportant. The majority of the perceived changes occurred in the background of the scene, and were considered minor in reference to the whole scene. This was proven true from the data collected, and coincided with previous tests. (Rensink, R. A. 2000). The data in tables 1.1 and 1.3 shows the individual participant data for the test with a flicker for both tests one and two. Tables 1.2 and 1.4 represent the individual results for the tests with no flicker, or the control group. Graphs 1.1 and 1.2 showed the relationship between the time taken to recognize alterations in the images. The data was taken from the average time to recognize the change from all ... • 3. Reflection On Learning Experience Session 1 I am thinking about all of the areas of improvement I have the opportunity to take advantage of during my time at my practicum. My field instructor reviews all of my call logs, which at first I was unsure as to why she would take so much tie during supervision instead of focusing on something else. I now understand that in order to provide proper feedback and help me grow as a social worker, it is important she read my call notes. While my field instructor is reviewing my call notes, I have time to reflect on my calls. This helps me to think back on how I handle the situation and formulate possible areas for growth. I am feeling somewhat unsure of my relationship with my field instructor after this supervision meeting. Although she provides great feedback, I still am learning her style and trying to understand where I may stand with her. I think I am very lucky however, I have heard some of my classmates talk about struggles or disagreements with their field instructor, and I have not experienced this. I am also feeling thankful for my education, as I feel it has prepared me to stand out as a student in my practicum. Each time I have a moment where I realize or understand how I could have better handled a situation with a caller, I am able to process that in my brain and use it next time I am on the lines. Using my journal during supervision sessions really helps with this matter; I am able to review suggestions from my field instructor before my shifts. Since I have identified being unsure of my relationship with my field instructor, I will continue to be conscious of ques from her, this will help me gain a better grasp of our relationship. I welcome feedback from my field instructor in all areas. She is my mentor and I can tell she is truly interested in helping me grow as a professional. I very much enjoy the fact that she starts all of her feedback by giving positive, strengths before providing areas for growth. This allows me to see that I have things I am very good at and that I am effectively learning. It also shows me that I am a student and have areas where I can strengthen my skills. I am not sure I am overly sensitive to suggestions from my field instructor. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Coefficient Of Friction And The Deceleration Of An Object Research Question How is the coefficient of friction between two surfaces related to the deceleration of an object? Introduction Besides for the fact that friction is a drag (pun intended), humans have utilised this motion opposing force, to its greatest potential. One of the most prevalent things, though generally perceived as overused, the automobile, could be considered the epitome of friction utilization. The principles of friction applies to everything, especially that to that of a car s tires. Suppose if they were perfectly smooth, and to make matters worse, the road was perfectly smooth as well, the vehicle would keep moving forward when the driver attempted to stop, due to Newton s law of inertia. For this reason, tires are designed with raised tread to maintain a high degree of friction, gripping the road tightly and dispersing water when the roadway is wet. Friction is quite fundamental, seemingly elemental, the automobile is riddled with friction usage. From the friction caused by tyres to the friction in the car, making it possible to drive at all. The ¬capabilities do not end there, but with possibly the most underrated use of friction, a match, something any Neanderthal would have appreciated. [6] Friction in Bitumen and Sandpaper This experimental investigation endeavours to replicate the friction caused by different surfaces of a road. Therefore this experimental investigation requires similar surfaces to be compared. Bitumen can vary in the amount ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Moving To Toronto Essay After graduating high school in June, I plan on moving back to my birth city to study Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto. After not living in Toronto since I was a baby and have absolutely no memories from then, I hope that I will be able to seamlessly adapt to the different environment. I am certain that I will struggle with the cold for at least my freshman year, but I still think I will be able to get used to it. Moving to Toronto as of September will be quite difficult because of the distance of over 2.5 thousand miles and not knowing anybody who lives there. I will have a completely fresh start in my social life, which can both be a good and a bad thing. Although I will be leaving my friends, I will be able to create and form new friend groups and gain a newer perspective on matters by communicating and spending time with a larger variety of people. Given the fact that the University of Toronto has over 80,000 students, I have no doubt in my mind that I ll be able to meet a wide range of people with different cultures and backgrounds. • 6. Psychological Perspective on Antwone Fisher Essay Antwone Fisher was an individual that endured so many things. He faced a lot of challenges that may have seemed impossible to recover from. This story was an example of the many things that some children may experience. Antwone was not raised in an upper crust home. He did not grow up in a home in which his mother and father was present. Instead of having positive role models, he had to live with individuals that were abusive to him. When observing Antwone s personality, one may refer to two different theorists such as Bandura and Rogers. Bandura s theory uses the social learning approach. The models that were around Antwone taught him to not trust or be intimate with another woman. However, a young woman named Cheryl was the only one that Antwone began to grow close to. Antwone later revealed to his counselor, Dr. Jerome Davenport, that he was a virgin because of his previous experiences of being molested. As the movie progressed, one may begin to understand that Antwone was beginning to be controlled by his past. Bandura s goal in developing his social cognitive theory was to modify or change those learned behaviors that society considers undesirable and abnormal (Schultz Schultz, 2013, p. 341). Some other experiences that Antwone went through included being tortured with fire, tired up for punishment, and beaten. When a counselor is trying to address fears and phobias in a client, one may need to use a technique called guided participation (Schultz Schultz, 2013). • 7. Young Women In The Coquette By Eliza Wharton In Hannah W. Foster s, The Coquette, Eliza Wharton is portrayed as a woman of status, above average intelligence and education, with a flirtatious nature. Though the author does not cast her in an antagonistic light, her manner is painted as foolish, flippant to 18th century social conventions, and lacking in forethought. As such, The Coquette should be viewed as a literary warning for young women of the day, especially those who may have shared undesirable attributes with Eliza. It is the novel s intent, by way of Eliza s thoughts and actions, to discourage young women from pursuing a fleeting and non virtuous lifestyle. Conversely, Peter Sanford acts as a moral foil to the virtue of Reverend Boyer; he is charming, but manipulative, deceptive, and rakish. It is the author s intent to portray Major Sanford as the type of man to which women of inconsistent virtue were likely to be drawn. Eliza is shown as not caring about Sanford s past indiscretions (and ultimately suffering for it), saying a reformed rake makes the best husband (Foster, p.49). • 8. The Civil War And The 19th Century Essay The 19th century was one of the most troubling times in human history. Things like the civil war, child labor and even slavery helped shape the literary culture from 1850 1900. The civil war was a war fought between the Northern and Southern States in the United States of America. Among the 34 states in January 1861, seven Southern slave states individually declared their secession from the United States of America and formed the Confederate States of America. The first state to secede was south carolina after the election of president lincoln in 1860. After South Carolina seceded, the cotton states of Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas followed, seceding in January and February 1861. Union and Confederate leadership and fighting soldiers on both sides believed that slavery caused the Civil War. Union men mainly believed the war was to emancipate the slaves. Confederates fought to protect southern society, and slavery as a part of it. Sectionalism refers to the different economies, social structure, culture and customs and values of the North and South. While the south based their economy off of slave labor and plantation agriculture, the North was urbanizing, industrializing and had feigned slavery out of existence. Southern slaveholding states, because of their low cost labor, had little need for industrialization. While the North highly invested in its industrialization, could not compete with the industries of Europe in offering high prices ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Remains Of The Day Protagonists of novels should be relatable and realistic. They should be individuals with whom readers can easily identify, and consequently should be painted with as much humanity as possible. Mr. Stevens, the protagonist of Kazuo Ishiguro s novel The Remains of the Day, is no exception. He is meant to be an incredibly human character, and consequently it makes sense that the reader should seek to define his flaws and limits, and whether or not he exhibits spiritual imprisonment , as Robert Stone terms it. Of course, it is necessary to identify exactly what spiritual imprisonment is. At its core, spiritual imprisonment can be defined as someone being restricted by someone or something else from pursuing what they value. The character of Stevens that Ishiguro draws in his short narrative, and the personal values that Stevens subtly exhibits, suggest that Stevens, while misguided in his values for a large portion of the book, is free to pursue those values, and consequently is not spiritually imprisoned. Before delving further into an analysis of Ishiguro s protagonist, it is absolutely necessary to identify exactly what Stevens values. He values and meditates on throughout the entirety of the novel dignity. Specifically, Stevens posit[s] that dignity has to do crucially with a butler s ability not to abandon the professional being he inhabits (Ishiguro, 42). Each of these values have a big impact on my life not only since I have come to Augustana, but every day since I can remember. To define friendship is not easy. It is so many things and so many feelings. It is kindness, compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, respect and dependability. They both wanted to lead their own lives, to be their own individuals. It is important to know who you are and what you want so you don t get lost in everyone else s expectations, and lose your sense of self. Bargain prices are something good to us but considering what would happen if we buy and use these counterfeits, it would not be worth it. Even though they look the same, these counterfeits are far from the original. Therefore, it is only right that people should take proper measures to avoid buying counterfeit make up and beauty products because they are harmful to our health, impacts the economy negatively and are linked with other illegal Activities. Firstly, counterfeited beauty products should be avoided because they have been found to be associated with bringing harm to the consumers well being. The reason for this is mainly because these fake products do not go along with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Students With An Optimum Learning Experience By Creating A... Chapter Two: Literature Review Introduction Professionals in the field of education want to provide students with an optimum learning experience by creating a favorable atmosphere (Lane McWhirter, 1992). Dauber and Epstein stated that a healthy learning environment in school can lead to academic achievement (as cited in J. Noaks L. Noaks, 2009). Within existing educational structure opportunities for empowerment of students is limited, according to Wyness (as cited in Sellman, 2011). Educators spend more time teaching pupils how to be good citizens when they grow up instead of providing them opportunities to engage in civic duties at school (Sellman, 2011). Students are citizen too and should be held accountable for improving their own lives, working conditions, and relationships. This literature review is presented under the following subheadings: conflict, conflict resolution, peer mediation research, benefits of peer mediation, and peer mediation downfalls. The purpose of this literature review is to understand what conflict is and how it can be resolved peacefully. Conflict resolution can be taught using peer mediation framework to guide teachers and students. Peer mediation can be a positive experience for students but there are specific points to consider before implementation of a peer mediation program at school. • 24. The New Liberal Arts In today s generation college students struggle to attend higher education. Tuition has been higher than ever before to attend college. This is true, college students battle to go to college. A book that I read They Say, I say mentions, many families are indeed struggling, in depths of recession, to pay for their children s college eduction. (Sanford, 191). Paying for college funds affect families as well as the student. The title provides the basic to justifying the claim. The title can grave the readers attention in the first paragraph or have them hurtle away. The title of Sanford, The New Liberal Arts catches the readers attention. The word New made the reader want to know what was the new liberal arts. So the reader will dig into the first page to find out what the new liberal arts is. The claim is what the writer is trying to say to the reader also know as the main idea of the reading. Sanford s claim is that liberal arts is a better investment based on his experience although is cost the most. Sanford say, a liberal arts degree is a luxury that most families no longer afford. That being said Sanford claim is strong because he gives examples to support his claim throughout the chapter. An arguable opposition was that students are taking shorts cuts to well paying job. Although this may be a good idea they are job that may have a deed end. Sanford disagrees with taking short cuts because they do not teach critical thinking and writing ... Peter Eavis has written a couple of articles for the New York Times about Bank of Internet USA. Bank of Internet USA is just like the name says, is a bank that provides its services over the internet so it is always open because it is online. It was created in 1999 and now has over $6 billion in assets. Most of their business comes from loans on expensive mortgages. The article is about a former internal auditor, Matt Erhart, who thought that there might have been some shady things happening behind the scenes at Bank of Internet. (Eavis) According to Gilliamlaw, Erhart s complaint had various wrongdoings that he brought to management and federal regulators. Other than the two mentioned above in the summary, Bank of Internet made threats to Erhart saying if he continues to turn over rocks, eventually he s going to find a snake and he s going to get bit. (Gilliamlaw) This type of behavior is unethical, corrupt, and unprofessional. This was not the only threat towards Erhart, there was a threat to have Erhart arrested by the police for informing the federal regulators of what he has found. Erhart was also told by an employee that CEO Garrabrants was telling employees that he intended to bury the BOFI whistleblower . (Gillamlaw) According to Orzeck, some of the corporations that regulates Bank of Internet are the Office of the comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Some of the stakeholders that were affected by this suit were the employees of Bank of Internet, creditors that rely on the financial statements for interest rates and credit scores and the shareholders of the company. The employees feel as if they are not safe anymore now because the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989 was supposed to protect Erhart but instead he was harassed and threatened. He could hear the sounds of those who were chasing him. The mountain like a colossus stood defiantly in his path. All that he had was a rope and no equipment to climb the mountain. It was either climb the mountain or risk being caught. There was no other way to reach his destination. He looked at the mountain and made a decision. He placed his hand upon the rock and started his ascent up the mountain. Some people saw the man climbing the mountain from a distance and laughed at him. The man ignored his critics and moved upon the rock. Inch by inch, he climbed the mountain. Soon his hands were sore, his feet hurting but he kept on climbing. He had no resources but his rope, his strength and his mind. Many hours later, he stood upon the summit of the mountain. He did not climb the mountain because the mountain was there. • 28. Summary Of Fairy Tales From Angela Carter Burning Your Boats In this essay, I will be discussing different elements of fairy tales from Angela Carter Burning your Boats. I will be discussing The Loves of Lady Purple, Penetrating to the Heart of the Forest, The Bloody Chamber and The Werewolf. Between the four of these stories, they displace a wide variety of feminism that the Grimm Brothers and Anderson did not display. From reading The Loves of Lady Purple, this story didn t resemble a normal fairy tale, this story resembles gothic literature. Lady Purple was no princess, she was no queen of a kingdom or a castle, she was a cruel, vicious person. Lady purple was a vampire and Angela Carter described her as, white as chalk because it was covered with the skin of supplest white leather which also clothes her torso, jointed limbs and complication of extremities. Her beautiful hands seemed more like weapons because her nails were so long, five inches of pointed tin enameled scarlet, and she wore a wig of black hair arranged in a chignon more heavily elaborate than any human neck could have endured. This monumental chevelure was stuck through with many brilliant pins tipped with pieces of broken mirror so that, every time she moved, she cast a multitude of scintillating reflections which danced about the theatre like mice of light. Her clothes were all of deep, dark, slumberous colors profound pinks, crimson and the vibrating purple with which she was synonymous, a purple the color of bloods in a love suicide (Carter, p. 43, 1995). Lady Purple was not a typical woman in a fairy tale, if you want to call this story a fairy tale. In most fairy tales, women are passive, their hardly paid attention to, they re expected look a certain and act a certain way. Their Lady Purple was none of that, she was cruel, manipulative, she was not a true prostitute for she was the object on which men prostituted themselves. In most fairy tales, woman are portrayed as vampires who are gold diggers, but Lady Purple was in this case. I think the reason why Angela Carter wrote this story was to step away from the fairy tale approach. From reading this story, I did not pick up on any fairy tale elements. When I was reading this story, I thought there would be a love interest between Lady ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was reminded of God s love, commitment and promise that we have read about today in Genesis 12:1 4. Body Exegesis Abram was a man of seventy five years when we received his call. The readers are introduced to the call of Abram who at that time was called by this name. The text comes after the story of creation in Genesis, and before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra. The book of Genesis is said to belong to many different traditions, and therefore, is said to be a narrative. This book is a collection of oral and written records. Genesis 3 records mankind s disobedience to God which was eating the forbidden fruit. Genesis 4 mentions about Cain killing his brother Abel, another act of disobedience that he should not have chosen to be a part of. Later in Genesis 5, we read about humankind s sins and the story of the flood that took place in Noah s time. Further, Genesis mentions humankind s another big act, the incident of the Tower of Babel. All these were the bad incidents and it is in Genesis 12:1 4 that we get to see what God initiating a call is about. One commentary states concerning a call wherever the call was issued, its substance was the same: he was to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 31. Societal Values In Homer s Iliad And Women In Genesis The women in Homer s Iliad and the women in Genesis both exhibit the accepted societal values in a woman through their duties as wives, which typically consisted of obedience and the ability to sustain their husband s lineage. Rebekah and Andromache both assume their roles as wives, but sometimes act in ways outside of the what was considered normal in their society. Though both Rebekah and Andromache maintain the classic role of a wife, they occasionally contradict the expectations of how a woman should behave by making decisions traditionally made by men. Through revolutionary behaviors demonstrated by both women, they grant themselves more authority and power in decision making, which in turn affects the fate of each woman s family. Both Andromache and Rebekah share a parallel in terms of their roles in carrying out the fate of their families, however what ultimately distinguishes one from the other is how successful they are at sustaining those roles. In the Iliad, Homer displays societal norms placed for wives through the actions of Andromache, yet at the same time, conveys her as having more power and involvement in the family than what was expected for a woman at the time to have. In her encounter with her husband, Hector, Andromache establishes one of her main roles of trying to manipulate fate (moira) through attempting to prevent him from returning to the war and facing his inevitable death. • 33. Questions On The Robotic Fundamentals Module This document explains my approach to solve the coursework questions for the Robotic Fundamentals module. The coursework is divided into three different parts. The first part of the coursework asks to derive the forward and inverse kinematics of a serial manipulator (Lynxmotion arm AL5B) and plot its workspace and trajectories. The second part asks to develop a kinematic simulation of the parallel robot. The third part is an open ended relevant topic. Matlab software is used here to create model for simulation. 2. Serial Robot Kinematics (Part 1) The 5 degree of freedom Lynxmotion arm AL5B consists of a base, a shoulder, a elbow, a wrist, a wrist rotation and a gripper. To analysis its kinematics, we need to first know the relationship between each link of the robot arms. Figure 2.0 AL5B Lynxmotion Robotic Arm 3.1 Joint and Link Structure Figure 2.1 Joint and Link Labeling First and foremost, we need to set up a model for analysis purposes. The names of joint and link are labeled accordingly. All joints here are revolute and the end effector is assigned as i6.
