Kitmap Skills
I have many skills and great knowledge of the game as I have played hcf and kitmap for many
years. I can pick up hacks such as Kill aura (attacks on more than one player around a particular)
Force field (head snap player would focus on one player then head snap) Bhop or speed (allows
players to use a infinite speed boost to move faster) Regen (allows players to regen hearts to the
max when on 1 or 2 Anti kb (allows player to take 0% knock back) Rapid fire (allows player to
shoot 100 arrows instead of 1) These hacks are mainly found when pvping and I have a good
understanding of how to implement a punishment and have good understanding how to ss (screen
share a player) This is a ss guide, I think it s important to provide this as it will show... Show more

Another skill I bring along with me is that I would use my moderater rank with pride and wouldn

are sure they are hiding it, ask them to download cheat smasher. I would like to back up my point
when saying I m Australian. I know I wouldn t be given staff rank just because I m in the AU
region, but having me in this position would mean that it would be beneficial to US staff and
would help increase the player rate as people would be able to rely on staff to clean the server in
the Australian time zone. I would be polite to everyone and give my full undivided attention to
anyone in doubt about a situation or feels unsecure about anything involving forums,ts and in

Terrible Transportation In Las Vegas
Terrible Transportation in Las Vegas The RTC, Regional Transportation Commission, is the only
bus system all around the Las Vegas area and it covers most of the valley. People all over this vast
city depend on this multicultural transit system, whether they are old, young, rich, or poor.
Nevertheless, riding the busin Las Vegas is not only dangerous, it is time consuming, on top of
being a filthy place to expose oneself to. The bus in this city is alarming to ride in many areas of
the town as passengers make their way from point A to point B. The bus travels straight up and
down each street without turning on most of its routes. As the bus repeatedly drives along its route
it heads through some not so decent parts of town, this can be seen... Show more content on

Remember how earlier it was mentioned that any fare paying passenger was allowed on the bus,
this includes people with the flu or any kind of sickness creating a germ infested bus that is only
cleaned once a day! All too often bus riders seem to have no sense of respect for fellow
passengers leaving their trash on the seats when they depart. In just about every bus in the valley,
a rider can see stains on the floor that are sometimes sticky from the drinks spilled throughout that
single day even though drinks are not allowed on the bus. Along with icky floors comes gross
windows or sometimes even gunk on the seats this is often from the children who smear their
dirty fingers and faces all over the bus. Unfortunately, this junk is left on the bus all day for each
passenger to see. Rather a repulsive sight when someone takes the time to think that even as often
as the bus stops at the transit stations no one wipes the buses down between runs even with all the
stops that a bus

Industrial Revolutions During Europe During The Industrial...
Industrial Revolution in Europe
Before the industrial revolution, Europe was mostly dominated by farmers but as the industrial
revolution progressed this changed dramatically. Industrial revolution had a significant impact in
the process by making new demands that shaped the way of life through increased competition and
technological innovation. Generally, it was a historical period that sparked in a stroke a number
numerous changes in the economic, social and political dimensions. It is considered as a period
that made the biggest impact on 19th century Europe considering that it was the period that the
countries realized significant progress that shaped their economies in great details with nationalism
and imperialism as well being direct impacts of the revolution.
Not many could have anticipated the rapid rise of the European industry that was realized from
industrial revolution. As a note, dominance in wage labor, rapid growth of cities and evolution of
industries mostly from steel and iron factories were perhaps the greatest changes that were
experienced. In economic changes, manifestations were evident through the increased rates of
immigration to better places, rapid growth of cities as centers of trade and changes in the type of
work and working structures. Socially, reorganization of family was experienced as well as changes
in ownership of jobs, rural to urban migration as well as where and when to work (Lynn et al. 413
414). Politics also played a great role in

The Disease Of Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is a multisystem, inflammatory illness. It is caused by the bacteria Borrelia
burgdorferi. It is a vector borne infection (which means it is spread directly from one host to
another) transmitted specifically through the bite of an infected tick (Mayo Clinic: Lyme Disease
Definition, Aug. 27, 2015). There are certain risk factors which can increase one s chance of
contracting Lyme disease. For example: where a person lives can heighten one s likelihood of
getting this illness. Wherever deer or white footed mice are high in population, ticks are likely to be
as well, since these animals are their main food source. Ticks also thrive in heavily wooded and
grassy areas, so, if a person lives or works in such a place, they... Show more content on

8, 2006). Therefore, one s best protection against infection of this bacteria relies entirely on
preventative measures. First of all, avoid wooded, grassy areas, which generally have a high tick
population. Furthermore, if one must venture into such an area, cover up in light colored
clothing to improve one s ability to spot a tick and obstruct the tick s path to the skin. Tucking
pant legs into the top of one s socks is an effective measure, as is wearing hats and gloves, and
sticking to trails as much as possible. Secondly, invest in tick repellent; there are many chemical
products, such as DEET, or natural protections, like vinegar mixed with essential oil and water,
available. Tick proof your property by clearing away brush and tall grass. Also, be mindful that
when you spend time outdoors check yourself, your children, and pets frequently for ticks. Ticks
like to burrow in dark, warm areas that are difficult to spot: the underarm, groin, hair line and the
back of the knee. Depending on what stage a tick is in its life cycle, it will feed on its host for 3
10 days. Although, it has been reported that the sooner a tick is removed,

Jewish Immigration In Argentina Essay
Argentina, as the second largest country in Latin America, contains approximately 42 million
individuals. Containing over 181,000 Jews, Argentina obtains the largest Jewish community in the
region. From unrestricted immigration policies to the quartering of Nazi criminals in Argentina,
there had been a wide spectrum of events that Argentinas Jewshave endured. They have
persevered through both seasons of coexistence and seasons of heightened anti Semitism
prejudice, discrimination and hatred of Jews as a national, ethnic, religious or racial group. It all
began in 1492 when Father Tomas de Torquemada expelled all Jews from Spain due to the fear of
Judaisminfluencing new Christian converts in Spain. Facing religious oppression, they were forced
to flee, and many consequently landed in Argentina. These secret Jews (also known as conversos)
fused into the Argentine population, many forsaking Judaism altogether, leaving a small amount of
Jews left in Argentina by the mid 1800 s. In 1810, President Bernardino Rivadavia set a foundation
of freedom and respect for Jews by implementing policies promoting liberated immigration and
recognition of human rights; he befittingly annulled the Inquisition which was formally depriving
Jews of their freedom. With this tolerant environment came another influx of Jewish immigration

In support of his assertion that President Buchanan s friendships were one sided and ultimately
led to his downfall, Garry Boulard quotes Associate Supreme Court Justice Robert Grier
commenting on Buchanan s presidency in its final days saying He put his confidence and gave
his power to his enemies and not to his friends and now he is enjoying the fruits of his mistakes,
(Nevins 360). The author drew this quotation from The Emergence of Lincoln, Volume II Prologue
to Civil War, 1859 1861 by Allan Nevins. This quotation is a primary source, regardless of being
drawn from another historian s book.
Garry Boulard also uses a letter from President Buchanan to Governor Pickens to continue to
support his claim that the president s friendships weakened his position on the secession of South
Carolina and his other claim that Buchanan failed to declare his position on anything of importance.
This weakened position would boost the confidence of the rest of the southern states in their right to
secede from the Union as well. In this letter to Pickens, the author argues that Buchanan subtly
conceded that South Carolina was an independent nation through his poorly worded attempt at
discouraging Pickens from laying siege to Fort Sumter; in that, he failed to assert his power as the
President of the United States and subsequently weakened the

There has been a great deal of active discussion regarding hemp in today s society and its

the improvement of brain performance. Hemp seeds that contain essential amino acids, improves

The Exploitation Of The Natural Environment
Despite the fact that efforts were made in the past to entrench the rights of the people, people are
still born into a miserable life with no possibilities of escaping of poverty, while others may inherit
fortunes and financial freedom empires. Inequality, like the gap between the rich and the poor, has
never been as critical as it is a present. Unfortunately, the future does not appear to be bright if the
degrading activities of the natural environment continues(7), the expanding shortage of resources,
overpopulation especially in under developing countries as well as the apathy of the majority of
the world brings even worse issues of poverty.
Many under developed countries are trapped in poverty because of the shortage of raw materials,
being forced to resort to trade in order support themselves, as well as overexploitation of the limited
resources they posses. Unable to implement eco friendly technologies in the production processes
and therefore force to use hazardous and cheap methods of production, which is contributed further
degradation of the environment. For instance, many suffer from poverty live on soil that is not
fertile; as a consequence, they are forced to resort to intensive farming. This practice is damaging to
the environment and furthermore, these people do not have the financial means to improve the
technologies they use in agriculture or basis infrastructure in this aspect. As a result, they can only
produce low and insufficient quantities of food in

Reaction Paper On Bullying
There are many times where we are observers of other people s behavior whether negative or
positive and do not give it deep thought unless the behavior impacts us directly. We may go
about life with the belief that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad
people. Then when a bad thing happens to a good person (or vise versa), we then take the time
to analyse how can this be possible and whether it is fair or not. Now imagine that you are
raising a well mannered child who respects others, but comes home year after year letting you
know that she is being bullied at school. You then wonder what can your child be doing wrong to
deserve this, what can she do differently, and you can t seem to understand why your child who is
a good person is having bad things happen to her. Bullyingin fact causes serious health issues as
well as social and it has been estimated that around 30% of children are victims of bullying in the
adolescent years (Garland, Policastro, Richards, Miller, 2017). In the past schools and parents did
not look at bullying as an issue and many times the bullying went unnoticed because it was
considered the norm and a part of growing up. In turn this can be a reason why people blame the
victim for what happens to them and not the victimizer. When these thoughts cross our minds, we
are participating in a Belief Just World Phenomenon. The Just world theory started because the
world has the duty which goes without saying that we as humans

A Visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral
The Notre Dame Cathedral is certainly one of the most beautiful locations in the world, as the city
of Paris as a whole and the building s surroundings contribute to making visitors acknowledge the
importance of this monument. Construction on the cathedral started in 1163 and was largely
finished by 1250, with most of its features emphasizing Gothic influences. The building s
architecture, the sculptures present in it, and the impressive stained glassall stand as reminders that
the French community invested most of its cultural values into the church at the time when it was
constructed.
From the very first moment when entering the cathedral one is likely to be struck by the silence
dominating the massive interior. In spite of the somewhat annoying number of curious tourists
(others probably saw my curiosity just as annoying as the noise), the church manages to maintain its
quiet and peaceful nature. This is truly remarkable, taking into account that it is constantly filled
with tourists through visiting hours.
It is difficult to ignore the fact that the Notre Dame is one of most popular monuments in the world
and that many visitors prefer this particular building to the Eiffel Tower. Its popularity certainly
makes it difficult for one to feel the sacredness that it contains and that it was initially meant to put
across. The fact that so many visitors walk through its entrance every day diminishes its value
somewhat, especially considering that many of them fail to

The Causes Of The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl
It started off as a normal day for the Johnson boys, They woke up, ate breakfast and headed off to
the fields to start their chores. Their chores included feeding and tending the livestock and
taking care of the crops. There were two boys, Rick and Morty the youngest son, Morty loved
feeding the cows and sheep his favorite was a calf named Chad. Chad and Morty have been best
friends ever since Chad was born. When Morty was feeding Chad he looked over and saw a
cloud of dust that ranged for miles. He yelled at his brother to look and together they put away
all the livestock and went inside for shelter. Four hours goes by and the storm finally passes. The
two boys go outside to see that everything has been covered in dust. They run to the barn and see
that all their livestock had died from dust suffocation. Rick and Morty go in a panic everything
they worked hard for was gone. They had no other choice but to migrate to try and find a job so
they can survive. So the next day they packed everything they could carry and got the next ticket to
California. This was very usual for the farmers in the midwest to do this. The Dust Bowl affected
people s way of life in the Midwest forcing them to migrate to California in search of a job and food.
For years the Dust Bowl traveled the southern plains making the everyday activities not so simple.
According to a English Professor at University of Illinois, Cary Nels on, the dust bowl lasted about

Knowledge Management is an organization s methodology of making their intellectual assets as
fully functional, or effective as possible. This is a systematic approach organized to enhance
understanding. It s the managing of information in a way that provides an organization with a
competitive advantage.
Information Systems can be summed in three words: technology, people, and process. Information
Systems is a group of interrelated components that first start with the technology, which includes:
hardware, software, and infrastructure. People are also included and they are the trained personnel.
To put the system together would be the process, which includes combining the trained personnel to
work together to support decision making and provide a value to an organization.
Organizational Learning has two main parts. First, it is manifested by shared ideas in an
organization. Then the shared ideas are developed into a common meaning by the organization.
Organizations learn by the interaction in a collective setting.
A High Performance Team is a group of people that molds together their skills in order to strengthen
performance results. The group members commit to a common purpose and are in line with one

Structural Significance Of The Fall In John Milton s...
Final Milton Paper on the Structural Significance of the Fall
The introduction should brief characterize PL... and set up argument elegantly.
Though Milton details Adam and Eve s falls separately, the fall in Paradise Lost is not two
separate falls, but one because Adam and Eve are not independent of each other. Rather Milton has
them fall physically apart to emphasize how connected they are, and in doing so, through the fall,
he solidifies Eve as a symbol of liberty and Adam as a symbol of reason, thus making significant
comments on the relationship between and the significance of the relationship between reason and
liberty. In totality, through the structural significance of the fall, Milton is not only able to justify
the ways of God to man, as stated in his thesis for Paradise Lost, but is able to justify the ways of
man, legitimizing some of his major assertions in his prose works such as Second Defense of the
English People, Areopagitica, and The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates.
Analyszing their individual falls revelas that Milton uses the falls to solidfy Eve as a symbol of
liberty and Adam as a symbol of reason. Thoughout the epic, Adam is portrayed as a symbol of
reason through his rational disposition. In Areopagitica, John Milton s address to the English

Dr. Iwan s The Bad Doctor
The second strip of page 192 in the comic, The Bad Doctor, highlights persistent stressors that
exist in Dr. Iwan James s life. The scene depicts Dr. James driving a patient, Julie Myers, into
town. Prior to this, Iwan was visiting an elderly patient, Mrs. Flowers, where he accidently knelt
in her urine. After convincing her to visit a hospital he drives away and that is where he notices
Julie who requests for him to drive her into town. Dr. James complies and the page ends with an
image of Mrs. Flowers being wheeled away into an ambulance. The second strip is symbolic not
only of Iwan s extraordinary care for his patients, but also the persistent judgment Iwan has to face

Living Here Was Nothing Special
I live in a small town called Ocean City, New Jersey. To me, living here was nothing special.
Ironically, anytime I say that is where I m from I hear, Wait, you live in Ocean City?! That is my
favorite place in the world. We go there every summer! How can a place be a bother to someone
and an amazing get away to another? I went to Ocean City High School, where I could walk five
feet to the beach. Who could hate that? I sure could. I begged my parents to let me transfer my
first two years. I went to a Catholic school from kindergarten through 8th grade while everyone
else at my school attended the public middle schools in the area, which meant that everyone was
already friends and I had to make new ones. This was my first time ever in public schooling, and
I felt like a lost fish in the sea. Obviously things got better and I ended up making some of the
best friendships that I know will last a lifetime, but I still can t deny that I thought I could say June
18th, 2015, graduation, was going to be the best day of my life. Then things changed. This summer
I worked on the beach and was never done later than 12:00, so I went every single day after I
clocked out. To say I gained an appreciation for where I live would be an understatement. There
is nothing more relaxing than hearing the crashes of the big blue waves slowly putting me to
sleep as I lay in the warm sun. I was slowly beginning to realize why everyone loves this place so
much. Excitement for heading off to college

Tennyson s The Arrow And The Charge Of The Light Brigade
Out of all the poems Tennyson wrote, The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade was the
ones that have been selected. Tennyson was one of the greats that came from the Victorian era.
Tennyson wasn t just known for being a poet, he was also known for writing plays and music.
There will be some comparing and contrasting of The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade
on the poetic devices Tennyson used and what inspired him to write both these poems. Tennyson
was inspired to write The Eagle when he went to the mountain. Even though The Eagle was a
short poem, it had a lot of imagery. He clasps the crag with crooked hands a good use of imagery
in this poem. It is also a metaphor because Tennyson wrote it as if the eagle had hands like a
human. It explained about how the eagle lives in its natural habitat. The Eagle had a rhymescheme
of (a, a, a) which is a triple rhyme, where the stanzas have three lines and they all rhyme. The
poem also contains alliteration and simile. And like a thunderbolt he falls is a simile that was
used that could be used to describe the eagle falling. In all cases we would think Tennyson meant
the eagle was falling fast like a thunderbolt but he wasn t. Although the unwary reader might
associate the swift, downward flight of the eagle with a lightning bolt, Tennyson does not use this
term (Jackson 26). He was wording it as the sound of the rock landing a thunderbolt (Jackson 26).
The poem uses alliteration such as He

from Asia. Chrysanthemum is my grandma from my mother s side. When Chrysanthemum came
over, things got messy.
Previously there was something that happened in her country. That something involves my two
grandmas and three of my aunts. One of my grandmas were from my father s side and the aunts
were also from my father s side. My grandma from that side is named Gem. Chrysanthemum was
involved too. There were a fight and an argument. It began with a pretty hot and nice day. It was
that way because my aunt took me to fun and pretty places. Where I got to try and see new
things. It was a good day until I came to Gem s house. Chrysanthemum rode a motorcycle to the
house I was staying at. She rode over to the house because she wanted to pick me up. Because it
was her turn to take care of me, but Gem didn t let her. Chrysanthemum was mad because of ...

My grandma from my father s side heard what Chrysanthemum said to me, and said, Do not. I

When she said that to me I didn t know what to do, so I started to cry. I think that they were

Comparing Myrtle Wilson And The Great Gatsby By F. Scott...
Although two people may seem like they are completely different, they can have many
similarities. Myrtle Wilson and Jay Gatsby from F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby are
excellent examples of this idea. Both Myrtle and Gatsby have goals of acquiring money and
being accepted into the lifestyle of the upper class lifestyle that the Buchanans are living and
end up being victims of their actions. However, Gatsby s goal of being accepted was to be
accepted by Daisy while Myrtle s was purely for money. Although Gatsby and Myrtle appear to be
vastly different people, they are actually quite similar. Myrtle and Gatsby both share the same goal

never told me about it, and the man came after it one day when he was out (34 35). Myrtle
Wilson thinks that she made a mistake marrying her husband, George Wilson, because he is
poor. Myrtle loves the idea of Tom because he comes from money, so she has an affair with him
and plans to leave her husband to be with Tom. Moreover, Gatsby s goal of being rich was so
that he could be accepted back into Daisy s life. It was a strong coincidence, I said. But it wasn t
a coincidence at all. Why not? Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be just across the
bay (78). Gatsby bought the house across the bay from Daisy in hopes that she would see the
parties that he would host each week and decide to show up. He figured that she would show up
to the parties and figure out that it was his house and be impressed with what he had made with
himself. Gatsby bought his house with the intention of impressing Daisy and aspired to be

Drug Patents Essay
Why do consumers purchase specific drugs for various ailments, sicknesses or diseases they might
have? Why do physicians prescribe certain drugs over competitive drugs that may be available to
the public? Why is it that most of us can easily name specific drugs that fit the many ailments of
today s society? On the surface the answer might be as simple as good TV advertising or radio
commercials or even internet adds. The truth of matter is the major pharmaceutical manufacturers
own the patents on these drugs and this gives them all of the marketing budget and muscle they
need to promote the drug and control the pricing. The incentives for larger pharmaceutical
companies are very enticing and as a result, they don t mind spending the... Show more content on

If multiple drugs are created for the treatment of similar symptoms or illnesses, they can each
receive a patent providing they are not identical in formulation and don t have the same key active
ingredient in them. A patent can only last for 20 years and as a result, new drug companies could
potentially take over the drug formulation. Given the fact that drug pharmaceuticals are always
advancing, their will most likely always be new drugs that are even better (Lehman 4).
The main purpose of creating the drug patent is to achieve market exclusivity for the product
created. With only select brands of the same drug available it is much easier to market and sell the
product. Companies are able to determine their price which allows them to achieve maximum
profit. The importance of making a large profit in the pharmaceutical industry is that drug testing
and clinical trials are extremely expensive. In many cases the profit gained by selling expensive
products will be allocated for future endeavors such as the creation of a future drug, or of the
improvement of the drug already on the market. New research is done every day to find the new
miracle drug that will fix whatever illness is at hand (FDA). If the selling price exceeds the
production cost, the pharmaceutical companies will continue to receive a large profit. Often the
company will choose to continue their research, making advancements to the existing drug, that
way it can

The Ethics Of Abortion And Abortion
The Ethics of Abortion
Abortion, which according to the Merriam Webster dictionary (n.d.) refers to any action that is
taken to prematurely end the life of a growing fetus in its mother s womb before it is born, is a
very controversial topic in our society today. Every day, several women die as a result of lack of
access to proper abortion facilities (Kaczor, 2013). It has been estimated that 2% of women
within childbearing age i.e. ages 15 to 44 will have an abortion (Medoff, 2013) and the yearly
number of abortions worldwide is estimated to be around 46 million ( Kaczor,2015). This statistic
is further increased due to the society s perception of the morality and ethicality of abortion. Pro
life supporters argue that life begins at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite this law, the regulation of abortion is still left to provincial government and this has led to
various interpretations of R v Morgentaler (Johnstone Macfarlane, 2015). These various provincial
regulations have contributed to the inaccessibility of abortion to several women across the country
(Sethna, 2012; Vogel, 2015).
Arguments from both sides
Pro life
The pro life movement believes in the sanctity of human life which they say begins right from
the conception of the child (Zuradzki, 2014; Seipel 2014). According to Pro life supporters, an
embryo has the right to a full moral status and right to life as any other human being (Zuradzki,
2014; Seipel 2014). Religion plays a big role in emphasizing and propagating the anti abortion
movement and also influences the views of several Canadians on abortion (Saurette Gordon,
2013). Religious views, especially those taken from the Christian perspective, believes in the
sanctity of life and views abortion as murder which is a sin (Zuradzki, 2014).
Pro choice
Supporters of abortion rights argue that a woman s decision to abort a fetus is in alignment with
the right to freedom and choice (Seipel, 2014). They argue that the concept of whether or not a
fetus can be regarded as a person should not infringe on the right of the mother to make choices
without the interference of the state (Seipel, 2014). They also argue that the concept of personhood
is subject to a person s personal and moral judgment and that one

Mgm Studios And Stuart Little
Whether the story is about a tiny mouse or a gigantic ogre, there is magic in storytelling and
bringing to life characters that relate their challenges of being unique. By comparing and
contrasting two films, Shrek (2001) by DreamWorks Studios and Stuart Little (1999) by Sony
Studios, the reader will better understand the dynamics of successful family entertainment with
regards to the Disney model . Over the years family appropriate content, style and marketing has
allowed for non Disney produced films to achieve success, but will they ever be as profitable as the
Disney films? The Disney model has created a culture of mega entertainment and expectations, so
that more family entertainment from non Disney companies makes for a greater variety of films,
but not a guarantee of the synergy and ancillary markets to support the films.
The giant company that started as Disney, all began with Walt Disneyarriving in California in
1923. Earlier in Kansas City, he had made a cartoon called Alice s Wonderland which would soon
be the pilot for his series called Alice s Comedies . Disney was contracted by a distributor, M. J.
Winkler, on October 16, 1923, which was the official start of one the largest entertainment
companies to ever exist, Walt Disney Company. Disney went on to produce many short and full
length films suited for family entertainment. Their early full length animation movies in the 1950 s
that captured family viewing were Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland

The Downfall of Capitalism
As the distinguished economist, John Maynard Keynes notes: Capitalism is the extraordinary belief
that the nastiest of men, for the nastiest of motives, will somehow work for the benefit of all. At the
core of the Robert Taylor homes is a functioning capitalist society. As in all capitalist societies, it is
the role of the government to defend the economic interests of the faction that controls the means of
production by suppressing anyone seen as a threat to its dominance. In the Robert Taylor homes, the
Black Kings were the state that defended the means of production by suppressing any threat to their
business through notion of hustling. Even though as a functioning capitalist society, the Robert
Taylor homes were community plagued by severe destitution. The community suffered from many
illegal activities in addition to the high rates of unemployment and welfare. Furthermore, the
housing project was completely ignored by the municipal government. In this lawless environment,
there was no independent police, and for many there was no steady income. The combination of
these two elements increased the power gang, thus they were the enforcers. The people of the
community had to compete amongst each other for resources. Those of the Robert Taylor
community had to make the best use of what they had, and this is known as survival. What many
come to understand, as hustling and other unethical activities, are known as survival to members of
the Black Kings gang and the tenants

The refugee exhibit in Pioneer Square was set up into different sections where each section told a

they need to leave their home countries. In the beginning you are given a card, which holds an
identity of an asylum seeker, migrant, international displaced people, refugee, and you are to
become that person. We were then told to select five items that we thought were beneficial for
our journey. In my experience I was an asylum seeker from Afghan. The five things I selected
were a cell phone to contact family when I crossed the border and tell them I m fine. The next
item was money for expenses, an animal, passport to have identification, and lastly water so I
stayed hydrated. I thought it was easy enough until the tour guide explained the circumstances.
When refugees start their journee to leave their homeland they don t think about valuables, but

something new such as, a boat ride, food, a charger to charge your phone, which as I learned was

Essay The History of Rock and Roll
Rock music has come a long way since its development in the early 20th century. The genre,
defined as a merger between rhythm blues and country (Scaruffi, The History of Rock
Music:1955 1966), started out more as an underground market, but ended up becoming a
significant aspect of American popular music history. Rock n Roll music produce many
legendary artists who will for ever be known as innovators of the genre. Elvis Presley and Chuck
Berry were some of the many artists in Rock n Roll who will always live on in their music. Many
teenagers were also to identify it due to its rebellious nature their disapproval of the cold war.
Towards the end of the 1950s, Rock n Roll was ending on a particularly bad note, with a brief

However, the 1960s was considered at a stand still when it came to popular music. In 1964, when
the Beatles arrived to America, everything changed. I think this was the time when Rock n Roll
was truly reborn as Rock music. The changing of Rock and Roll terminology is illustative. Rock
and Roll became simply Rock , connoting its new heaviness (seriousness) (Cary, pg 31) The
oncoming decade allowed for new developments within rock music and as a result, soared in
popularity. The British invasion, a phrase coined by Walter Cronkite while reporting the arrival of
the Beatles in the USA,and American folk singers were the causes of the rapid changes in Rock
music. It was British bands that altered how Rock n Roll was played, and at the the same time
American folk singers were in the process of changing how its audience, particularly the youth,
perceived it.
The United states has always met with great success in exporting their own popular music to
Europe. However, the impact that the Beatles had on our country started the beginning of what
Star and Waterman call an aggressively reciprocal process (Star and Waterman, pg 255). Which is
true because the Beatles s debut on the Ed Sullivan Show was a huge success 73 million
Americans watched their first appearance on the show. After wards, British invasion groups took
America by the storm. The Beatles arrival in America in 1964

Castaway Analysis
In the movie Castaway, Chuck Noland is marooned on a deserted island by himself. He lost
everyone he ever knew and because of that he started to go insane. To cope with this, he created
a friend for himself, helping him keep his sanity and to be less lonely. At times, he lost
motivation, and he almost gave up. Noland learned how to get food, clean water, and make a
shelter in the four years he was on the island, fulfilling his basic needs . Ultimately, the main
reason he almost died multiple times while marooned was because he was alone. Love and
belongingness needs are one of the most important needs for human survival because without
human interaction, one could lose their sanity, motivation, and can become lonely. Some people
who follow Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs believe that the basic needs are the most important
needs. Seeing as how the basic needs include food, water, and rest, this makes sense. Without those
essentials, one will die. In the book The Clay Marbleby Minfong Ho, in chapter nine, a young
refugee named Dara is walking back to her campsite after being separated from her family. I
noticed an old man looking at me curiously. He was sitting with his own family, holding a plate
of cold rice. I looked at it hungrily, but could not bring myself to ask for any food. Dara is
rejecting asking for food, and yet the only reason she is there in the first place is to find her
family. Dara cannot bear to lose them, and would rather go hungry looking for them than be
fully nourished without them. This shows how much risk people will go through for the ones
they love. Dara wandered back to her campsite, right after it had been bombed, to try and find
the people she loved. Eating, drinking, and sleeping are key human instincts, but on the other
hand, so is love. In the article Homeless turn lives around step by step , in which the topic is a
woman who started a running club for homeless people, On line 36, Anne Mahlum, the founder
of the running club, Back On My Feet, state s: Right above those needs is an innate desire to be

Summary Of A Different Drum By Simon Tong
Simon Tong s short story, The Beat of a Different Drum explores the journey of a young boy
immigrating from Hong Kong to Australia with a lack of knowledge of the Australian culture and
tradition. Through the ambiguous understanding of his unwelcoming classmates, he is victimized
to the extent that he feels both violated and humiliated, emphasised by the fact that he is unable to
express his feelings in English. These feelings result in him becoming increasingly insecure and
irritated as he has become confused and alienated. The rich vocabulary and literary techniques
enabled Simon s short storyto become more relatable to the audience by exploring the common
adolescent crisis of Being Different .
During Simon s first playground experience, he was bombarded with the unexpected questions of
students who seemed to want to befriend him. Beginning with innocent questions, Are you from
Japan? ... Are you from China? , quickly revolved into immature and offensive questions such as,

Difference Between Daoism And Confucianism
Confucianism and Daoism Confucianism originated from Confucius and The Five Classics. The
Five Classics provided both the ideology and framework that informed government policy. They
includes the descriptions of deities, ghosts, and spirits, and the rites. Similarly, the primary source
of explanations, the Book of Rites, also explains how the rites serve the ultimate goal of
Confucianism, which is the creation of a harmonious society through careful self cultivation not
for the sake of the self, but for the sake of the society . The Classics make it clear that a peaceful
and harmonious society cannot be achieved without harmony in the family. The section on
Principles of Sacrifice in the Records of Rites explains that a ruler must have a wife to assist in
both state and familial duties. Furthermore, the king and queen were together responsible for
making offerings at the ancestral temple representing the imperial family. Interestingly, there is a
balance of yin and yang, which is reinforced by the first two trigrams in the Classic of Changes.

How Does Internet Addiction Affect Different Aspects Of An...
How does Internet Addiction affect different aspects of an individual and the brain? Internet
Addiction Disorder, abbreviated as IAD, is defined loosely as a pattern of addictedness to the
use of the internet (Mosher). Chao and Hsiao defined IAD as an individual s inability to control
his or her use of the internet, which eventually causes psychological, social, school, and/or work
difficulties in a person s life (Akhter). Many reports believe that an individual may rely on the
internet to avoid anxiety provoking situations like face to face interaction, or as a way to escape
from reality. Dr. Orzack from The Clinical Associate in Psychologyat McLean Hospital would say
believe that it is not those who possess a computer that is exposed to the risk of addiction, but more
of the depressed, lonely, impatient, or a recovering addict who are more exposed. The Internet is a
helpful tool, but once it reaches a certain level of addiction, consequences will happen on many
different aspects (Murali, George). IAD is becoming a bigger and bigger concern as the new
generation is more dependent to the technology. Internet addiction affects the physical aspects of
the brainand the individual, the mental or psychological aspects, the social aspects, and the
intellectual aspects of an individual. IAD has many physical effects on the body and the brain of
an individual. The effects IAD has on the body varies from carpal tunnel syndrome, dry eyes,

After review of Andrea s case study, consideration of symptoms, and history my diagnosis is
Bulimia Nervosa F50.2 in partial remission. Andrea presented signs of a feeding disorder. All other
feeding disorders were ruled out due to either symptoms or time frame. Differential diagnosis
included Binge Eating disorder F50.8, but ruled out because it was mentioned Andrea engaged in
inappropriate compensatory behaviors such use of prescribed and illicit drugs, and diuretics.
Andrea met criteria for All aspects of Bulimia Nervosa in section a both 1 and 2; eating within a
discrete period of time, and the sense of over eating during the episode (American Psychiatric
Association, 2013). Also meeting criteria in section B, C, D, and E. Recurrent compensatory ...

prior to onset of symptoms and his onset seemed to be sudden. Category C was met by ruling
out substance abuse, mood affective disorders such as major depressive disorder, and catatonia.
Brief Psychotic onset can occur in early adulthood. To support a diagnosis of Brief Psychotic
Disorder one must take into effect a person s cultural background, and family practices such as
religion. For example, someone praying allowed can be viewed as speaking to themselves, or in
some cultures it being the norm to state one heard from God . While this could mean not
actually hearing voices but a spiritual form of guidance. Religion must also be taken into
consideration when crediting or discrediting someone s beliefs as delusional. In Martin s case
his delusions were of aliens conspiring with his family to kill him and could not be confused
with religious beliefs. It was clear he was suffering from delusions. It is also important to take
into account any family history of psychotic disorders. Martin s aunt suffered from erratic
behavior and had been in and out of the hospital for years. It is also important to take into account
any preexisting personality disorder traits which can predispose a person to develop the disorder

The Problem Of Crime Filled Neighborhood
A run down, crime filled neighborhood is looked at as something that needs improvement and
changing. Similar to a piece of furniture, people with money try to refurbish it and make it look
new while taking away the dinginess. However with neighborhoods it is not this simple. Many
people are quick to assume that by gentrifying a neighborhood, the amount of crimewill decrease
and this is not a far fetched thought. It seems self explanatory large amounts of crime occur in
low income neighborhoods therefore if higher income residents and homes replace those poorer
residents and homes, the large amounts of crime will no longer exist. However, gentrification is a
complex process and although it may look as if the process is a great thing, it... Show more content

Even when coffee shops and gang heavy neighborhoods ...cross paths in a neighborhood, one high
rank will not over come the other high rank... (580). Both of these types of gentrification, in which
their was no government involvement, showed how gentrification can reduce the rates of crime,
specifically gang related homicides.
Contrary to the types of gentrification mentioned above, when it came to the state involved
gentrification, it was a different story than the other two types. The study proved though you can
invade it, you cannot simply take away a criminals territory to decrease crime. State involved
gentrification in this study was the demolition of public housing and this process significantly
increased gang homicide over time (584). Public housing is housing sponsored by the government
and because the government doesn t always consider what is best for poorer neighborhoods, the
homes are often times run down and located in crime heavy areas. The demolition of these homes
causes an immediate effect of displacement and gang turf disruption on gang violence (578). This
demolition left people without territories and really nowhere to go, something that increased
homicides. In addition to increasing gang related homicides, removing housing and territories
causes untended persons and property are fair game for plunder (Skogan 216). This study and many
others have proved just

Ketogenic Diet On Exercise Metabolism, And
Ketogenic diet refers to low carb diet, or low carb high fat (LCHF), in which the body produces
ketones in the liver to be used as energy. This diet focuses on eating high fat, adequate protein, and
low carbohydrate foods, which could be beneficial to our bodies if we consume the right types of
fat such as avocado, beef tallow, butter, chicken Fat, non hydrogenated Lard, macadamia nuts,
mayonnaise (watch out for added carbs), olive Oil, coconut Oil, coconut Butter, red Palm oil, and
peanut Butter
According to The Effects of a Ketogenic Diet on Exercise Metabolism and Physical Performance in
Off Road Cyclists study, ketogenic diet stimulated some positive changes in body mass, body
composition, and in the lipid and lipoprotein profiles. In the study, they found significant
increase in the relative values of maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max) and oxygen uptake at
lactate threshold (VO2 LT) after the ketogenic diet, which can be a result of body mass and fat
mass reduction, and/or the greater oxygen uptake necessary to obtain the same energy yield as on
a mixed diet, due to increased fat oxidation or by enhanced sympathetic activation. There was also
a significant increase in max work load and work load at lactate threshold, as well ... Show more

Reflection Of Robert s Speech
Speaking Recognition Final Essay The most effective overall speaker in my opinion would have
to be Robert. The way he acts on stage feels like he knows where he s at and runs it. His speech
regarding the No Smoking Policy was outstanding in such a way it was well spoken. In my
opinion why he deserves to win the most effective overall speaker would have to be because of his
charisma, preparation, confidence, and attitude on stage. His charisma was amazing. He was
always happy and willing to make something funny out of serious embarrassing moments for
example when he gave the speechabout dating two people at once others can view that as
inappropriate. He was willing to go up on stage and make it funny which grabs the audiences
attention. Also he has a smile on which brings an happy attitude. This allows him not to speak with
a monotone voice which would make the presentation boring. His confidence on stage was the thing
that allowed him to be, in my opinion, the most effective overall speaker. He always stood up
straight, didn t use much filler words and new what he was talking about. His preparation was
one of the key aspects why he was so confident. You could tell he was super prepared for all of
his speeches which allowed him to talk in a clear voice and add funny comments within them. The
speech regarding the dating two people at once was my favorite because it was a random but
interesting topic to present a speech on. His introduction was interesting because he

Ankle Sprains Essay
In general, an ankle sprain is the stretching or tearing of ligaments in the ankle. If a patient it
diagnosed with a medial ankle sprain that means they have either overstretched or torn the
ligaments that are associated with the deltoid ligament. The deltoid ligaments, which are the
primary ligaments involved with this injury, include Posterior tibiotalar, tibiocalcaneal, anterior
tibiotalar, and tibionavicular. All of these originate from the medial malleolus. There are three
different attachment points consisting of the navicular, talus, and calcaneus. Both the PTL and the
tibionavicular ligamentattach to the navicular bone, the ATL attaches to the talus, and the
tibiocalcaneal ligament attaches to the calcaneus. Over time studies have found that there is a
superficial layer made up of the tibiocalcaneal and the tibionavicular and a deep layer containing
the ATL and PTL. The superficial layer is responsible for stabilizing and preventing any posterior
movement of the talus while the deep layer stabilizes the navicular calcaneal... Show more content

Michael Porter s The Competitive Advantage Of The Inner City
The essay The Competitive Advantage of the Inner City by Michael Porter, addresses the crisis of
inner cities, in particular, the economic distress and how to fix it. Porter discusses the advantages
and disadvantages of the inner city, and how previous efforts to improve the conditions of the city
have failed. Many past efforts were guided by the desire to meet the needs of individuals but not
the cityas a whole, even programs that were aimed at economic development were ineffective
because they treated the inner city as an isolated island (317), separated from surrounding economy
which favored local small businessthat did not bring in outside business.
Michael Porter is a renowned economist and professor of Business Administration at the Harvard
Business School, author of 18 books and more than 125 articles with topics that range from industry
competition to economic development. Porter was born in Michigan and went on to study
aerospace and mechanical engineering in Princeton from where he graduated first in his class and
with high honors from both the prestigious societies Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, which he was
also elected into. He is known as the c and is recognized worldwide for his take on competition and
company strategy, many say that his work has redefined the thought process related to competition
and economic development. Some of his most influential books include Competitive Strategy:
Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors, Competitive Advantage: Creating and
Sustaining Superior Performance and Redefining Health Care: Creating Value Based Competition
On Results.
In the essay, The Competitive Advantage of the Inner City, Porter explained the reason that
numerous past efforts failed to improve the economic conditions of the inner city were mainly
due to the increasing social investment in order to see growth in economic activity. However, in
order to create real change, we have to start with the notion that inner city businesses should not
only be profitable but also capable of exporting goods and services (317). Many would think that a
business in the inner city would not thrive because business prosperity depends on location,
however, it also varies on the way a

My Group Created A Retelling Of Othello
My group created a retelling of Othello in a modern day college setting. Before we started to
film, I met with the group after school for all of the brainstorming meetings except for one, since
I had to take a mock AP test. During the meetings, we went over possible settings and ideas for
the film. We played around with a few ideas, and even started to film one. The day that the group
met to film the prototype idea, I was not present. The idea didn t work, so we ended up scrapping
it and choosing a new setting altogether. We knew that we d need at least a week to film
everything, so Sophie and I ended up typing a completely new script without talking over all of the
specifics with our group. That week, we started filming, while also making... Show more content on

In the original play, both Desdemona and Emilia don t do much compared to Othello and Iago, but
since the majority of the characters in our film are female, the power struggle between genders isn
t as apparent. Because of this, however, females are given more opportunities to have a say in the
action. In Othello, Othello is the only black character, but in our film the only important white
character is Deborah. Though unintentional, it shows how Deborah cannot do anything, even
though she is the privileged race. Even though Deb only talks to Iris a few times, she seems to
genuinely trusted her, which shows the general consensus on Iris personality as well as
reinforcing Deb s feminine and simple personality. As mentioned above, our new setting was in
a college, and we used TU s campus to film. Though none of the people in our group are in
college, we ve heard all the rumors. The drama! The backstabbing! The secrets! It was the perfect
place to host a remake of a Shakespeare play, and having a theatre club was just a bonus. The
modern setting of our film contrasts nicely with the olden war time of Othello while still retaining
many of the same ideas and concepts. I ve already mentioned why we chose a college setting, but
another reason why it works well is because it fits the characters. Though technically adults, they
overreact to small provocations, and

Hamburger Hill Essay
Many people can attest to the fact that the war in Vietnam was very unpopular and unsupported.
One could say that it was the most unsupported war in this country s history. One of the many
battles that occurred during the war was the Battle of Hamburger Hill. Although it was a very
short battle, some would say that this battle was very unnecessary and a waste of manpower.
Hamburger Hill, also known as hill 937, was a ten day battle fought in the A Shau Valley from
May 10 20 1969. Hamburger Hill was given its name by the soldiers who fought in that battle
because of how gruesome and bloody it was, it reminded them of a meat grinder. Also, this battle

Lt. Colonel Honeycutt, commander of 3/187, ordered two of his companies to the north and
northwest ridges of the hill. Bravo company started pushing up the hill while meeting large amounts
of North Vietnamese soldiers. Because of the resistance, they called in close air support to aid in
moving up the hill. Miscommunication caused the air support to confuse the landing zone for an
NVA camp resulting in them opening fire and killing two and injuring thirty five of their own.
Unfortunately, this was the first but not the last friendly fire incident during this battle. The thick
vegetation caused for so much miscommunication and inability to properly identify targets.
Honeycutt continued to launch assaults against the NVA. Theses assaults would face heavy
resistance with many casualties. Lt. Colonel Conmey, commander of the 1st Battalion 506th
Infantry regiment shifted his assaults to the southern base of the hill. American pushes were
caused to fall short due to the thick vegetation, this also effected the capabilities of the American
s heavy weapons. Those hindrances gave huge advantages to the NVA. Because of all the
vegetation, they called in approximately 270 Air Strikes in a ten day period. These strikes dropped
890 tons of explosives and 115 tons of napalm. These air strikes and napalm eliminated many of the
NVA bunkers and trenching system (Hickman,

1. How is the word myth used popularly? For example, what does the statement, It s a myth mean?
In contrast, how is the word myth used in the academic context? After considering the definition in
your textbooks and course materials, write a definition in your own words.
Instinctively, the word myth brings to mind fantastical stories of good and evil and the inevitable
triumph of good. Reading the recommended materials for this class however, has brought me to a
new, yet not formed direction of thinking. Playing in the woods as a young boy with my two older

I think if we all understood the same things the same way we would lose our imagination.
Imagination is what I feel links me to the not yet understood; I can only conclude that is why there
are vast differences and yet striking similarities to myths throughout the world.
What is the relationship between belief, knowledge, mythology, and religion? Where do mythology
and religion intersect? Where do they diverge? Think about the function of myth and religion in
helping human beings cope with change, suffering, loss, and death.
I think the intersection of religion and mythology is not really an intersection at all, more a parallel
with variances, not having read a lot of mythology yet I can only opine that since the bible has
described divine powers and miracles happening at the will of GOD and later JESUS, that much
mythology has similarities. Just as in the Bible stories are told to teach through identifiable
situations, connecting with your audience is key to effect. My step daughter lost her biological
father four years ago, we leaned heavily on prayer, our church and GOD to get us through, my
daughter realized through her own readings that: life will go on, her daddy was sick and GOD
needed him home, he wasn t sick anymore, she told us one morning she was sad and JESUS held
her hand until she fell asleep last night. I

Terrible Transportation In Las Vegas Terrible Transportation in Las Vegas The RTC, Regional Transportation Commission, is the only bus system all around the Las Vegas area and it covers most of the valley. People all over this vast city depend on this multicultural transit system, whether they are old, young, rich, or poor. Nevertheless, riding the busin Las Vegas is not only dangerous, it is time consuming, on top of being a filthy place to expose oneself to. The bus in this city is alarming to ride in many areas of the town as passengers make their way from point A to point B. The bus travels straight up and down each street without turning on most of its routes. As the bus repeatedly drives along its route it heads through some not so decent parts of town, this can be seen... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Remember how earlier it was mentioned that any fare paying passenger was allowed on the bus, this includes people with the flu or any kind of sickness creating a germ infested bus that is only cleaned once a day! All too often bus riders seem to have no sense of respect for fellow passengers leaving their trash on the seats when they depart. In just about every bus in the valley, a rider can see stains on the floor that are sometimes sticky from the drinks spilled throughout that single day even though drinks are not allowed on the bus. Along with icky floors comes gross windows or sometimes even gunk on the seats this is often from the children who smear their dirty fingers and faces all over the bus. Unfortunately, this junk is left on the bus all day for each passenger to see. Rather a repulsive sight when someone takes the time to think that even as often as the bus stops at the transit stations no one wipes the buses down between runs even with all the stops that a bus ... • 5. Industrial Revolutions During Europe During The Industrial... Industrial Revolution in Europe Before the industrial revolution, Europe was mostly dominated by farmers but as the industrial revolution progressed this changed dramatically. Industrial revolution had a significant impact in the process by making new demands that shaped the way of life through increased competition and technological innovation. Generally, it was a historical period that sparked in a stroke a number numerous changes in the economic, social and political dimensions. It is considered as a period that made the biggest impact on 19th century Europe considering that it was the period that the countries realized significant progress that shaped their economies in great details with nationalism and imperialism as well being direct impacts of the revolution. Not many could have anticipated the rapid rise of the European industry that was realized from industrial revolution. As a note, dominance in wage labor, rapid growth of cities and evolution of industries mostly from steel and iron factories were perhaps the greatest changes that were experienced. In economic changes, manifestations were evident through the increased rates of immigration to better places, rapid growth of cities as centers of trade and changes in the type of work and working structures. Socially, reorganization of family was experienced as well as changes in ownership of jobs, rural to urban migration as well as where and when to work (Lynn et al. 413 414). • 6. The Disease Of Lyme Disease Lyme disease is a multisystem, inflammatory illness. It is caused by the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi. It is a vector borne infection (which means it is spread directly from one host to another) transmitted specifically through the bite of an infected tick (Mayo Clinic: Lyme Disease Definition, Aug. 27, 2015). There are certain risk factors which can increase one s chance of contracting Lyme disease. For example: where a person lives can heighten one s likelihood of getting this illness. Wherever deer or white footed mice are high in population, ticks are likely to be as well, since these animals are their main food source. Therefore, one s best protection against infection of this bacteria relies entirely on preventative measures. First of all, avoid wooded, grassy areas, which generally have a high tick population. Furthermore, if one must venture into such an area, cover up in light colored clothing to improve one s ability to spot a tick and obstruct the tick s path to the skin. Tucking pant legs into the top of one s socks is an effective measure, as is wearing hats and gloves, and sticking to trails as much as possible. Secondly, invest in tick repellent; there are many chemical products, such as DEET, or natural protections, like vinegar mixed with essential oil and water, available. Tick proof your property by clearing away brush and tall grass. Also, be mindful that when you spend time outdoors check yourself, your children, and pets frequently for ticks. Ticks like to burrow in dark, warm areas that are difficult to spot: the underarm, groin, hair line and the back of the knee. Depending on what stage a tick is in its life cycle, it will feed on its host for 3 10 days. Although, it has been reported that the sooner a tick is removed, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Containing over 181,000 Jews, Argentina obtains the largest Jewish community in the region. From unrestricted immigration policies to the quartering of Nazi criminals in Argentina, there had been a wide spectrum of events that Argentinas Jewshave endured. They have persevered through both seasons of coexistence and seasons of heightened anti Semitism prejudice, discrimination and hatred of Jews as a national, ethnic, religious or racial group. It all began in 1492 when Father Tomas de Torquemada expelled all Jews from Spain due to the fear of Judaisminfluencing new Christian converts in Spain. Facing religious oppression, they were forced to flee, and many consequently landed in Argentina. These secret Jews (also known as conversos) fused into the Argentine population, many forsaking Judaism altogether, leaving a small amount of Jews left in Argentina by the mid 1800 s. In 1810, President Bernardino Rivadavia set a foundation of freedom and respect for Jews by implementing policies promoting liberated immigration and recognition of human rights; he befittingly annulled the Inquisition which was formally depriving Jews of their freedom. With this tolerant environment came another influx of Jewish immigration .The third... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In support of his assertion that President Buchanan s friendships were one sided and ultimately led to his downfall, Garry Boulard quotes Associate Supreme Court Justice Robert Grier commenting on Buchanan s presidency in its final days saying He put his confidence and gave his power to his enemies and not to his friends and now he is enjoying the fruits of his mistakes, (Nevins 360). The author drew this quotation from The Emergence of Lincoln, Volume II Prologue to Civil War, 1859 1861 by Allan Nevins. This quotation is a primary source, regardless of being drawn from another historian s book. Garry Boulard also uses a letter from President Buchanan to Governor Pickens to continue to support his claim that the president s friendships weakened his position on the secession of South Carolina and his other claim that Buchanan failed to declare his position on anything of importance. This weakened position would boost the confidence of the rest of the southern states in their right to secede from the Union as well. In this letter to Pickens, the author argues that Buchanan subtly conceded that South Carolina was an independent nation through his poorly worded attempt at discouraging Pickens from laying siege to Fort Sumter; in that, he failed to assert his power as the President of the United States and subsequently weakened the ... • 10. The Exploitation Of The Natural Environment Despite the fact that efforts were made in the past to entrench the rights of the people, people are still born into a miserable life with no possibilities of escaping of poverty, while others may inherit fortunes and financial freedom empires. Inequality, like the gap between the rich and the poor, has never been as critical as it is a present. Unfortunately, the future does not appear to be bright if the degrading activities of the natural environment continues(7), the expanding shortage of resources, overpopulation especially in under developing countries as well as the apathy of the majority of the world brings even worse issues of poverty. Many under developed countries are trapped in poverty because of the shortage of raw materials, being forced to resort to trade in order support themselves, as well as overexploitation of the limited resources they posses. • 11. Reaction Paper On Bullying There are many times where we are observers of other people s behavior whether negative or positive and do not give it deep thought unless the behavior impacts us directly. We may go about life with the belief that good things happen to good people and bad things happen to bad people. Then when a bad thing happens to a good person (or vise versa), we then take the time to analyse how can this be possible and whether it is fair or not. Now imagine that you are raising a well mannered child who respects others, but comes home year after year letting you know that she is being bullied at school. You then wonder what can your child be doing wrong to deserve this, what can she do differently, and you can t seem to understand why your child who is a good person is having bad things happen to her. Bullyingin fact causes serious health issues as well as social and it has been estimated that around 30% of children are victims of bullying in the adolescent years (Garland, Policastro, Richards, Miller, 2017). In the past schools and parents did not look at bullying as an issue and many times the bullying went unnoticed because it was considered the norm and a part of growing up. In turn this can be a reason why people blame the victim for what happens to them and not the victimizer. When these thoughts cross our minds, we are participating in a Belief Just World Phenomenon. The Just world theory started because the world has the duty which goes without saying that we as humans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. A Visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral The Notre Dame Cathedral is certainly one of the most beautiful locations in the world, as the city of Paris as a whole and the building s surroundings contribute to making visitors acknowledge the importance of this monument. Construction on the cathedral started in 1163 and was largely finished by 1250, with most of its features emphasizing Gothic influences. The building s architecture, the sculptures present in it, and the impressive stained glassall stand as reminders that the French community invested most of its cultural values into the church at the time when it was constructed. From the very first moment when entering the cathedral one is likely to be struck by the silence dominating the massive interior. In spite of the somewhat annoying number of curious tourists (others probably saw my curiosity just as annoying as the noise), the church manages to maintain its quiet and peaceful nature. This is truly remarkable, taking into account that it is constantly filled with tourists through visiting hours. It is difficult to ignore the fact that the Notre Dame is one of most popular monuments in the world and that many visitors prefer this particular building to the Eiffel Tower. Its popularity certainly makes it difficult for one to feel the sacredness that it contains and that it was initially meant to put across. The fact that so many visitors walk through its entrance every day diminishes its value somewhat, especially considering that many of them fail to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Causes Of The Dust Bowl The Dust Bowl It started off as a normal day for the Johnson boys, They woke up, ate breakfast and headed off to the fields to start their chores. There were two boys, Rick and Morty the youngest son, Morty loved feeding the cows and sheep his favorite was a calf named Chad. Chad and Morty have been best friends ever since Chad was born. When Morty was feeding Chad he looked over and saw a cloud of dust that ranged for miles. He yelled at his brother to look and together they put away all the livestock and went inside for shelter. Four hours goes by and the storm finally passes. The two boys go outside to see that everything has been covered in dust. They run to the barn and see that all their livestock had died from dust suffocation. Rick and Morty go in a panic everything they worked hard for was gone. They had no other choice but to migrate to try and find a job so they can survive. So the next day they packed everything they could carry and got the next ticket to California. This was very usual for the farmers in the midwest to do this. The Dust Bowl affected people s way of life in the Midwest forcing them to migrate to California in search of a job and food. Final Milton Paper on the Structural Significance of the Fall The introduction should brief characterize PL... and set up argument elegantly. Though Milton details Adam and Eve s falls separately, the fall in Paradise Lost is not two separate falls, but one because Adam and Eve are not independent of each other. Rather Milton has them fall physically apart to emphasize how connected they are, and in doing so, through the fall, he solidifies Eve as a symbol of liberty and Adam as a symbol of reason, thus making significant comments on the relationship between and the significance of the relationship between reason and liberty. In totality, through the structural significance of the fall, Milton is not only able to justify the ways of God to man, as stated in his thesis for Paradise Lost, but is able to justify the ways of man, legitimizing some of his major assertions in his prose works such as Second Defense of the English People, Areopagitica, and The Tenure of Kings and Magistrates. Analyszing their individual falls revelas that Milton uses the falls to solidfy Eve as a symbol of liberty and Adam as a symbol of reason. The scene depicts Dr. James driving a patient, Julie Myers, into town. Prior to this, Iwan was visiting an elderly patient, Mrs. Flowers, where he accidently knelt in her urine. After convincing her to visit a hospital he drives away and that is where he notices Julie who requests for him to drive her into town. Dr. James complies and the page ends with an image of Mrs. Flowers being wheeled away into an ambulance. The second strip is symbolic not only of Iwan s extraordinary care for his patients, but also the persistent judgment Iwan has to face as a result of being a great doctorin the town. The strip exemplifies the constant pressure Iwan feels to improve his patients lives. Depicted in the two panels we see Iwan assisting Julie regardless of the fact that he smells... Iwan has previously stated that he thought his correction of Julie s borderline personality disorder was a mistake (Williams 45:3:2) and he constantly doubts many of his other actions in a similar way. His sense of uncertainty towards his actions makes him feel vulnerable to judgement, which Julie immediately delivers to him in the car. Additionally, the car that the two are in could represent Iwan s feelings of being trapped within the town. The interior of the car takes up a lot of space in the panel, which leaves little room for Iwan and Julie. Iwan has previously stated that he cannot separate his life from the town itself (Williams 72:2). • 21. Living Here Was Nothing Special I live in a small town called Ocean City, New Jersey. To me, living here was nothing special. Ironically, anytime I say that is where I m from I hear, Wait, you live in Ocean City?! That is my favorite place in the world. We go there every summer! How can a place be a bother to someone and an amazing get away to another? I went to Ocean City High School, where I could walk five feet to the beach. Who could hate that? I sure could. I begged my parents to let me transfer my first two years. I went to a Catholic school from kindergarten through 8th grade while everyone else at my school attended the public middle schools in the area, which meant that everyone was already friends and I had to make new ones. This was my first time ever in public schooling, and I felt like a lost fish in the sea. Obviously things got better and I ended up making some of the best friendships that I know will last a lifetime, but I still can t deny that I thought I could say June 18th, 2015, graduation, was going to be the best day of my life. Then things changed. This summer I worked on the beach and was never done later than 12:00, so I went every single day after I clocked out. To say I gained an appreciation for where I live would be an understatement. There is nothing more relaxing than hearing the crashes of the big blue waves slowly putting me to sleep as I lay in the warm sun. Tennyson was one of the greats that came from the Victorian era. Tennyson wasn t just known for being a poet, he was also known for writing plays and music. There will be some comparing and contrasting of The Eagle and The Charge Of The Light Brigade on the poetic devices Tennyson used and what inspired him to write both these poems. Tennyson was inspired to write The Eagle when he went to the mountain. Even though The Eagle was a short poem, it had a lot of imagery. He clasps the crag with crooked hands a good use of imagery in this poem. It is also a metaphor because Tennyson wrote it as if the eagle had hands like a human. It explained about how the eagle lives in its natural habitat. The Eagle had a rhymescheme of (a, a, a) which is a triple rhyme, where the stanzas have three lines and they all rhyme. The poem also contains alliteration and simile. And like a thunderbolt he falls is a simile that was used that could be used to describe the eagle falling. In all cases we would think Tennyson meant the eagle was falling fast like a thunderbolt but he wasn t. Although the unwary reader might associate the swift, downward flight of the eagle with a lightning bolt, Tennyson does not use this term (Jackson 26). He was wording it as the sound of the rock landing a thunderbolt (Jackson 26). The poem uses alliteration such as He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why do physicians prescribe certain drugs over competitive drugs that may be available to the public? Why is it that most of us can easily name specific drugs that fit the many ailments of today s society? On the surface the answer might be as simple as good TV advertising or radio commercials or even internet adds. If multiple drugs are created for the treatment of similar symptoms or illnesses, they can each receive a patent providing they are not identical in formulation and don t have the same key active ingredient in them. A patent can only last for 20 years and as a result, new drug companies could potentially take over the drug formulation. Given the fact that drug pharmaceuticals are always advancing, their will most likely always be new drugs that are even better (Lehman 4). The main purpose of creating the drug patent is to achieve market exclusivity for the product created. With only select brands of the same drug available it is much easier to market and sell the product. Companies are able to determine their price which allows them to achieve maximum profit. The importance of making a large profit in the pharmaceutical industry is that drug testing and clinical trials are extremely expensive. In many cases the profit gained by selling expensive products will be allocated for future endeavors such as the creation of a future drug, or of the improvement of the drug already on the market. New research is done every day to find the new miracle drug that will fix whatever illness is at hand (FDA). The Ethics Of Abortion And Abortion The Ethics of Abortion Abortion, which according to the Merriam Webster dictionary (n.d.) refers to any action that is taken to prematurely end the life of a growing fetus in its mother s womb before it is born, is a very controversial topic in our society today. Every day, several women die as a result of lack of access to proper abortion facilities (Kaczor, 2013). Noland learned how to get food, clean water, and make a shelter in the four years he was on the island, fulfilling his basic needs . Ultimately, the main reason he almost died multiple times while marooned was because he was alone. Love and belongingness needs are one of the most important needs for human survival because without human interaction, one could lose their sanity, motivation, and can become lonely. Some people who follow Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs believe that the basic needs are the most important needs. Seeing as how the basic needs include food, water, and rest, this makes sense. Without those essentials, one will die. In the book The Clay Marbleby Minfong Ho, in chapter nine, a young refugee named Dara is walking back to her campsite after being separated from her family. I noticed an old man looking at me curiously. He was sitting with his own family, holding a plate of cold rice. I looked at it hungrily, but could not bring myself to ask for any food. Dara is rejecting asking for food, and yet the only reason she is there in the first place is to find her family. The Classics make it clear that a peaceful and harmonious society cannot be achieved without harmony in the family. The section on Principles of Sacrifice in the Records of Rites explains that a ruler must have a wife to assist in both state and familial duties. Furthermore, the king and queen were together responsible for making offerings at the ancestral temple representing the imperial family. Interestingly, there is a balance of yin and yang, which is reinforced by the first two trigrams in the Classic of Changes. Internet Addiction Disorder, abbreviated as IAD, is defined loosely as a pattern of addictedness to the use of the internet (Mosher). Chao and Hsiao defined IAD as an individual s inability to control his or her use of the internet, which eventually causes psychological, social, school, and/or work difficulties in a person s life (Akhter). Many reports believe that an individual may rely on the internet to avoid anxiety provoking situations like face to face interaction, or as a way to escape from reality. Dr. Orzack from The Clinical Associate in Psychologyat McLean Hospital would say believe that it is not those who possess a computer that is exposed to the risk of addiction, but more of the depressed, lonely, impatient, or a recovering addict who are more exposed. The Internet is a helpful tool, but once it reaches a certain level of addiction, consequences will happen on many different aspects (Murali, George). IAD is becoming a bigger and bigger concern as the new generation is more dependent to the technology. Internet addiction affects the physical aspects of the brainand the individual, the mental or psychological aspects, the social aspects, and the intellectual aspects of an individual. Similar to a piece of furniture, people with money try to refurbish it and make it look new while taking away the dinginess. However with neighborhoods it is not this simple. Many people are quick to assume that by gentrifying a neighborhood, the amount of crimewill decrease and this is not a far fetched thought. Public housing is housing sponsored by the government and because the government doesn t always consider what is best for poorer neighborhoods, the homes are often times run down and located in crime heavy areas. The demolition of these homes causes an immediate effect of displacement and gang turf disruption on gang violence (578). Michael Porter s The Competitive Advantage Of The Inner City The essay The Competitive Advantage of the Inner City by Michael Porter, addresses the crisis of inner cities, in particular, the economic distress and how to fix it. Porter discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the inner city, and how previous efforts to improve the conditions of the city have failed. Many past efforts were guided by the desire to meet the needs of individuals but not the cityas a whole, even programs that were aimed at economic development were ineffective because they treated the inner city as an isolated island (317), separated from surrounding economy which favored local small businessthat did not bring in outside business. Michael Porter is a renowned economist and professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, author of 18 books and more than 125 articles with topics that range from industry competition to economic development. Porter was born in Michigan and went on to study aerospace and mechanical engineering in Princeton from where he graduated first in his class and with high honors from both the prestigious societies Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, which he was also elected into. He is known as the c and is recognized worldwide for his take on competition and company strategy, many say that his work has redefined the thought process related to competition and economic development. Some of his most influential books include Competitive Strategy: Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors, Competitive Advantage: Creating and Sustaining Superior Performance and Redefining Health Care: Creating Value Based Competition On Results. In the essay, The Competitive Advantage of the Inner City, Porter explained the reason that numerous past efforts failed to improve the economic conditions of the inner city were mainly due to the increasing social investment in order to see growth in economic activity. However, in order to create real change, we have to start with the notion that inner city businesses should not only be profitable but also capable of exporting goods and services (317). In the original play, both Desdemona and Emilia don t do much compared to Othello and Iago, but since the majority of the characters in our film are female, the power struggle between genders isn t as apparent. Because of this, however, females are given more opportunities to have a say in the action. In Othello, Othello is the only black character, but in our film the only important white character is Deborah. Though unintentional, it shows how Deborah cannot do anything, even though she is the privileged race. Even though Deb only talks to Iris a few times, she seems to genuinely trusted her, which shows the general consensus on Iris personality as well as reinforcing Deb s feminine and simple personality.
