Victoria Secret Vs. Victoria s Sport
Victoria Secret (VS) that positions their products accurately is a well known company. It is also the
largest women lingerie retailer in the U.S. Furthermore, VS deeply knows how to put their goods in a
right position. At the beginning, they simply focus on women s sexy lingerie, such as bra. Because
they use right segmentation methods, they earned around $500,000 at the first year 1978. For instance,
they have focused on the gender female, customer s income, and the lifestyles for all women, such as
low price, sexy, feminine and comfy. Then, they moved on to other two sections step by step Pink and
Victoria s Sport. Pink centers upon college girls, and Victoria s Sport focus on those girls who like to
work out frequently. It is surprised

Bed Bug Disadvantages
Bed Bug Extermination
Have you ever heard people complaining about itching or biting during night hours or about having a
large number of small insects crawling in all over the kitchen, bedroom or at other places at home?
Yes! These are bed bugs and they are what people have been combating to get rid of them for years.
They re the most devilish and vulnerable creatures caused itching and biting leaving red spot, skin
bumps and welts on victim s skin. It is the most disgusting thing to look at. Besides these apparent
issues, there could be also other potential issues like sleeping disorders, embarrassment and even

Every year, bed bugs make thousands of the people to change their lodging to get a better place free
from bed bugs. But it is not sure that you ll be safe at new place. People invest hundreds or even
thousands of $$$ to get a pest controlling spray or call some bugs examiners to get rid of them
completely. They use every possible ways that could potentially help them to spend a hygienic and
healthy life again. The question is that; do people get enough success that values their hard earned
money and time? The fact is that in most of the cases people leave in depression and hopelessness
after they have spent hundreds of dollars and their valuable times as well. It is because the most of the
products available in the market just work for time being or no more effective against bed begs. On
the other side, those products have not been designed or formulated after conducting some good and
proven research derived from personal experience. The most of the product used for removing the bed
bugs also cause air pollution, health hazards and comes with other precautions. They couldn t be used
in house without leaving it empty. To defeat the bed bugs is not as easier thing as it is considered.
Once they destroyed, they come back again and again and create permanent

Caged Bird Analysis
The role of voices in text is to give meaning and to highlight the composer s attitudes and beliefs.
Maya Angelou s politically complex voice in Caged Bird explores her belief in the human rights for
equality, and the freedom for every individual regardless of race or creed. Paradoxically Bruce Dawe s
satirical and judgmental voice in Enter without so much knocking (Knock) conveys his criticisms of
society s shallow meaningless life. Caged Bird by Angelou makes the audience reconsider the real
conditions of the free bird and the caged bird . This contrast between the birds throughout the poem
enables her to explore the issues of freedom and isolation in African American society. Angelou
utilises various literary devices and techniques such as repetition, irony and imagery to convey her
attitudes and beliefs about the beauty of freedom. Repetition is used when the poem repeats the third
stanza at the end of the poem to further emphasis freedom, this reflects the two birds that are different.
for the caged bird sings of freedom is the last line of stanza three conveying an important message to
the readers, that the caged bird wants to be free. This allows the reader to conclude that every
individual should be aware and thankful for the freedom in their society. Although less direct in
conveying Angelou s attitudes and beliefs, she adequately utilises irony to enable us to further
appreciate freedom. The caged bird sings with a fearful trill evokes sympathy for

Essay about The Woman in Black
The woman in black: how does Arthur s character change during the course of the story?
At the beginning of the story Arthur is a proud and striving townsman, who enjoys life. This satisfying
state deteriorates by the dreadful experiences he encounters during his stay at Eel marsh house. This
affects him for the rest of his life.
Arthur was an ambitious man, who was interested in building his future; we learn this in the first
chapter:
This house was one day to be my own home. (p13)
To finance these ambitions he hopes to take more responsibility in the business so that he can ask for a
pay rise from Mr Bentley his employer. (p41)
On the train journey to Crythin Gifford Arthur expresses his pride in his job by saying: ... Show more

Whatever little Arthur hears about it he classifies it as tales that had grown out of proportion.
When Arthur sees the woman in black for the second time near Eel marsh at the burial ground, he has
a slight suspicion that she is not a human being:
Who she was or what and how she had vanished, such questions I did not ask myself...I did not
believe in ghosts.
but what other explanations was there?(p66 and 68)
This creates a little bit of curiosity in Arthur s mind and soon or later he finds out what she really is.
It was Arthur s experiences at Eel Marsh house which damaged his mental and physical life.
For how long I sat there, in extremes of despair and fear fullness, I do not know. (p76)
When a person like Arthur who adopts such high grades of fearlessness and resiliency expresses his
fear in such a manner he must have been terribly scared. Surely such levels of fear must affect a
person.
A key point in the story is when Arthur visits Eel Marsh house he explains his experiences as follows:
I had been as badly frightened as a man could be (p85).
Arthur was such a brave and resilient man, the same man who dismissed all the stories that he had
heard as tales that had grown out of proportion, must have experienced intense levels of fear to be so
terrified. These experiences change Arthur himself into a completely different man who now lacks in
physical activity and

Distillation Lab Report Discussion
Abstract:
Distillation is a technique used to purify and separate substances based on the different chemical
properties of each substance. By heating the mixture, vaporizing, and condensing the vapor, the
resulting substance with lower boiling point can be then collected and analyzed. In this lab two type of
distillation were performed the simple and the fractional distillations. In the simple distillation, the
resulting vapors immediately go through into the condenser that condenses the compound by cooling
it. In the fractional distillation, the fractionating column provides theoretical plates on which the
refluxing compound can condenses, re evaporate, and condenses again. The purpose of this
experiment is to compare the efficiency of simple ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Volume of distillate for both simple and fractional distillations, it can be concluded that the both
technique give different results. In the simple distillation, the line appears straight. As there was only
one phase, vaporization and then condensing, the process looks steady. The temperature almost rises at
the first boiling point. At this point the methanol materials starts to boil off and the volume distillate
increases. The temperature remained constant. As the last portion of the methanol boils off, the
temperature start to increased. In the fractional distillation, the graphs appear in phases and going
upwards. There is time between phases where no change take place. The temperature rises and there
was no component collected yet due to the number of time that methanol is vaporizes and condenses.
The graph proves that fractional distillation is better and more efficient for separation than simple
distillation. In the fractional distillation technique, the initial mixture contained 00000mole % of
methanol and the first distillate contained 000 of methanol. However, in the simple distillation
technique the initial mixture contained 30.01mole % of methanol and the first distillate ended up only
with 57.80% of methanol. This demonstrates that fractional distillation is more efficient than the
simple one. Using the mole percent composition for each type of distillation, the number of theoretical

The Marine Corps Is An Equal Opportunity Military Branch...
George S Patton once said, Accept the challenges so that you can feel the exhilaration of victory (
Motivational Quotes. BrainyQuote. Xplore. Web. 04 May 2016.). As a Marine I was taught to always
accept challenges that are thrown at me, and to never to give up no matter how big or small the
challenge is. If the Marine Corps is an equal opportunity military branch of service so should the
standards of its weight requirements for both males and females. Out of all of the branches of military
service the Marine Corps holds their selves to a higher standard in everything but especially when it
comes to their height/weight standards and overall appearance in their uniforms. Physical fitness
requirements and overall health plays an important part in how both men and women Marines try to
maintain their weight.
In the Marine Corps though men and women both serve together they often aren t treated the same in
certain areas. When it comes to weight standards a female and male can be the same height but a male
is allowed to weigh more than a female. For instance, taller women are allowed to weigh more, with
the weight limit set at 164 pounds for a woman who is 5 foot 8 and 184 pounds for a woman who is 6
feet tall. By comparison, male Marines are allowed to weigh more but must maintain a lower body fat
composition . A man in the service is allowed to weigh up to 180 pounds at 5 foot 8, and up to 202
pounds at 6 feet tall ( Female Marines May Be Allowed to Bulk up as Service

Brain Process Memory
The brain processes memory in three stages. Think of your brain like a computer. The first stage is
called encoding. The brain records usable information in your memory. The second stage is storage.
The brain uses that recordable information and stores it to be used later. The final stage is retrieval.
The brain the recovers that recordable information that was stored to use at a later date.
There are three types of memory: sensory, short term and long term. First, a split second memory of
sight, sound and other senses is sensory memory. Driving down the highway, I heard a car speeding
towards me. The car nearly side swiped me. I smelled the burnt rubber as it swerved to miss me. I
tried to quickly look at the license plate, but the car was driving fast. I caught a first glimpse of the
plate, but could not remember it. This is an example of sensory memory. Information that is not
retained is forgotten. The information that is retained is then stored in our short term memory.
Second, short term memory remains in the brain for a short period of time, maybe 25 seconds unless it
is reiterated over and over again to be preserved longer in the ... Show more content on

Long term memory can be stored permanently. If you review material for an extended period and it is
significantly important to you, it can be forever left in the memory then also tough to recover. Long
term memory has two parts. The first is declarative memory which consists of periods, details, etc. For
instance, I was born in November. It is an actual detail which makes it declarative memory.
Declarative memory is also distributed in semantic and episodic memory. Semantic memory is periods
or information about the world. Episodic memory is memory of occasions at a specific time, place or
setting. An occasion in my life that I remember is the first time I met my husband. The second is
procedural memory. How to drive a car is an example of procedural

Sexual Offenders Is The Most Vilified Type Of Offenders...
Sexual offenders are the most vilified type of offenders within public opinion and the criminal justice
system. The American precedent cases of Jacob Wetterling, Pam Lyncher, Megan Kanka, and other
notorious crimes perpetrated by sexual offenders with a prior history of conviction have demanded a
response from the criminal justice system to increase public safety. In 1994, the Jacob Wetterling
Crimes against Children and Sexually Violent Offender Registration Program was passed (Scholle,
2000), the first piece of legislation to advocate for the development of state maintained registries of
convicted sexual offenders. The legislation has been amended numerous times since then; in its
present state, the law requires all states to maintain a registry, the mandatory registration of convicted
sex offenders after release, community notification laws in place, and public access to the registry
(Burchfield and Mingus, 2012; Lees and Tewksbury, 2006; Petrunik, Murphy, and Fedoroff, 2008;
Scholle, 2000; Tewksbury and Lees, 2006; Wagner, 2011).
Sex offender registry laws were intended to increase public safety and to reduce the reoffending rates
of sexual offenders. However, this paper will argue that registration has no effect on recidivism rates
and that the law actually negatively impacts rehabilitative goals because of the unforeseen issues
stemming from registration. An analysis of the existing body of literature concerning registration from
the United States will address the

Marya Mannes How Do You Know It s Good
In a world that has become immune to accepting all types of art, Marya Mannes believes we have lost
our standards and ability to identify something as good or bad . In her essay, How Do You Know It s
Good , she discusses society s tendency to accept everything out of fear of wrongly labelling
something as being good or bad. She touches on various criteria to judge art, such as the artist s
purpose, skill and craftsmanship, originality, timelessness, as well as unity within a piece rather than
chaos. She says that an individual must decide if something is good on the basis of instinct,
experience, and association (Mannes). I believe that by using standards and the process of association,
we will be able to judge what makes an art piece good in comparison to others. However, Mannes
forces me to consider the difference between what may be appealing versus what is actually good, and
when deciding which art we should accept, which is truly more important. I believe that good and bad
are two ends of a large, subjective spectrum of grey area. It is possible for a piece of art to be good in
some areas and bad in others, and if something does not live up to all of our standards, it does not
necessarily mean it should be dismissed. Thus, I believe my personal standards for judging art are
based on which my standards are largely based on the personal reaction evoked from a piece of art.
Though I agree with Mannes standards to an extent, I believe that certain standards, such as evoking a
personal response, can be more telling of if a piece of art is good as opposed to its timelessness, or the
level of experience of an artist in his/her craft. As Mannes stated, the process of association is essential
in determining the quality of art, by comparing it to the other art we have seen. I am able to judge the
multitexts I have read in class by using the process of association to compare them to each other. For
example, we are able to judge the quality of the pieces by comparing and contrasting them to each
other. All three of our multitexts used certain writing models such as analogy poems and dialogue.
Cusion s piece Blame , is an analogy poem that he used to build on his multitext, implicitly telling

The Philosophy Of Classroom Management
Theoretical Introduction  Philosophy of Classroom Management When I think of my future
classroom, I imagine it to a home. I plan for my students and I to be a big family , and it will still be a
learning environment. While I am teaching a lesson I would like for my students to be quite when they
should be listening and participating when it is time for them to participate. I am there to guide their
learning, the students will be allowed to share, correct, and exchange information when the time is
appropriate. I will have the traditional teaching style which is the students paying attention to the
teacher, then once the students seem to understand the content they will then be able to move around
and interact with other student in either group discussions or at the learning centers throughout the
classroom. My classroom will be nice and bright to keep up the positive energy, and it will still be
conducted as a learning environment for my students, and they will understand that everything that
they learn in my classroom will travel with them till they are old, and they will be able to understand
why they are in school and what their purpose is in life.  Assumptions about the Nature of Young
People and Learning Every young person wants to satisfy their basic needs which usually tends to be
power, love, freedom and fun. They always want to be in control of their selves and the area around
them. Children will misbehave when they feel like the area is too strict around them,

Children in most cases will have to live with it for the rest of their lifes (same with mental effects).
They can lose vital organs and their body can be in mutilated condition. Diseases can also be picked
up along the way in some kinds of labour including child prostitution (STI), underground
mines/welding causing respiratory diseases and lead poison etc. These children can also end up with
illnesses that sometimes can not be treated. Which can end up resulting in their own death. Children
rather than adults Children are usually prefered over adults for a couple of reasons: One, children can
be more easily manipulated than adults. Two, they are more willing to do the work. But children are
more susceptible to illness or disease rather than adults are.

Ever since I was in 8th grade I always dreamt of working on trucks. I really want to work on a Ram

Truck mechanics, from my knowledge, have many different jobs. Not only do they work on truck
engines but they work on brakes and other parts as well as change fluids. They can be regular
mechanics too. Truck mechanics can on normal cars because preventative maintenance isn t job
specific. Truck mechanics are able to test drive the engines they fixed to make sure everything is done
correctly. They also run free check ups for smaller commercial trucks with diesel engines. Sometimes
they change the oil to run diagnostic checks in their free check ups. Truck mechanics have many jobs

Misconceptions of Rastafarianism

mind. Some examples would be the stereotypical images of dreadlocks (long braids or natural locks of

Solutions to Lowering the Risks of the Hajj s #1 Issue
Air pollution greatly impacts the Hajj. According to Homeland Security News Wire
(2014), this great risk is due to the population (3 4 million people) that experiences the 5 day journey
and it is also due to the effects that Mecca has before the Hajj (p. 1). And according to
Urton (2014), however, by 2025, 1 2 million more Muslims are predicted to take the spiritual journey.
The Hajj is a tradition is for Muslims. This spiritual journey represents one of the Five
Pillars of Islam, according to Fetini (2009), and it is the pilgrimage to Mecca. Particularly during the
Hajj, Mecca must lower its air pollution in order for residents and visitors to avoid facing the specific
health problems due to the smog and other debris in the air.
During the Hajj, people can take cars, busses, or trains, with traffic lasting up to an hour long, if they
prefer them instead of walking. The utilizations of these excess vehicles create exhaust, which
contributes to smog in the air. With the transportation on wheels, there are many environmental issues
during the Hajj in Mecca. The main one is air pollution. Contributors include vehicle exhaust, benzene
high gasoline, coolants, and sprays. Homeland Security News

Primaries Pros And Cons
Abstract
This paper will talk about the presidential primaries in the United States of America. It will explain
what a primary election is, and where it comes from historically, also how it fits into today s society.
Another topic it will cover is how the primary process has played out so far this year, how some of the
contenders are currently faring in the race for presidency. It will also cover the strong suits of the
primaries and some of the major flaws of the primaries. The last topic this paper will cover is whether
or not the people of the United States should understand and care about the presidential Primaries.
Introduction
The Presidential Primaries is a system put in place to help chose the best candidates for being the
President of the United States of America. Now whether it is or is not an effective system is yet to be
discussed later on in the paper, but it was put in place to help better to represent the people of the U.S.
The presidential Primaries is very crucial to the candidates running for presidency. It allows the public
to see who the candidates are, and how they conduct a campaign against one another.
History of the Primaries The presidential primaries have a long and rich history with the U.S. It goes

Cancerous Brain Tumors
Tumors are an area of swelling in a part of the both that does not always create inflammation. These
tumors are usually created by an irregular growth of the tissue. There are two individual kinds of
tumors, one called malignant, which is cancerous and the other benign, which is noncancerous. There
aren t any environmental factors that can usually cause either one of these tumors. Genetic disease
although, can cause certain tumors that can overpower the genes that stop the formation of tumors. A
genetic disease such as neurofibromatosis type 2 can be a prominent cause of a cancerous brain tumor.
Malignant tumors are harmful to the body and need immediate action. They have an absence of a
border and metastasize by growing in different parts of the body once they have traveled throughout
the vascular system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, even benign tumors have a risk of causing damage to the brain through either compression
or infiltration.
A tumor in the brain is dangerous if it starts to compress parts of the brain causing neurological
symptoms. This action can destroy the brain tissue it surrounds or it can block fluid in the brain from
flowing. Although it is not cancerous it can also compress parts of the spinal cord depending where it
is in the brain and can also stop the flow of blood in veins surrounding it.
Some symptoms of brain tumors can be someone experiencing a seizure for the first, usually occurring
in older patients. Because the all areas of the brain are what control the functions of the body, certain
areas where the brain tumor is located may cause gradual speech impairments, or physical
impairments such as difficulty walking. A lesser symptom of brain tumors would be headaches that
can be caused by compression of the tissue which can occur in any age of a patient with this type of

Layton s Essay On Rhetorical Analysis And Discussion
Layton begins his essay describing what engineering is; that its work is in the marketplace rather than
in a laboratory. He then states the engineer s dilemma is based on bureaucracy, not capitalism.
Engineers are called the original organization man, and are important to large businesses, but a social
revolution amongst them would not end their terms of marginality. Moving on, Layton then goes over
engineering and its history in America. He then goes on to discuss professionalism. Many engineers
have a concern for their social status, and seek to be on par with doctors and lawyers, and to do this,
they must show more social responsibility. Layton quickly discusses autonomy, and then goes on to
explain the pros of professionalism, and that it prevents engineers from becoming cogs in the
industrial machine. Going on, Layton states that professionalism carries an air of elitism, and is not
democratic in nature, but can serve democratic ends. It requires engineers to align with their
profession. However, business resists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He then brings up the topic of a group a Ohio State University educators that specifically asked
businessmen on their opinions of the day, to show that education is indeed susceptible to outside
influences. Continuing on, Layton discusses the stages that an engineer goes through, from student to
full member. He then states that some must show unwavering loyalty to succeed, and talks about
conformism a bit more, some even going as far as to avoid unorthodox dress. Coming back to the
phases of an engineer, Layton states that the final step is moving from engineering to business.
Although this is not achieved by all, some do and completely sever ties with their previous
engineering profession, using Charles M. Schwab as an

A dusty pile of magazines could be found stacked inside Francheska Gatpayat s house. But she hasn t

Instead, she would browse these magazines for pictures and cut them out.

The Glass Ceiling Effect Stand Between Men And Women...
The literature review presented in Chapter 2 of this study discusses the issues associated with the glass
ceiling phenomena by explaining why there are smaller proportion of women leaders in business and
project management using the case of Transport for London. The purpose of this qualitative
phenomenological study is to ascertain whether women employees in TfL experience the glass ceiling
effect. As a result, the study is designed to focus on the positive experiences and approaches that
contribute to and influence the success of women in senior level administration positions instead of
focusing on the barriers to such.
Research Questions
The following question will guide the study: How does the glass ceiling effect stand between men and
women employees, especially those in senior level management within project management in UK
transport infrastructure projects and other industries? The question is further sub divided to provide a
concrete answer to the overarching question; this includes an analysis of how women in senior level
administrative positions in the transport industry describe and perceive the glass ceiling experience,
the characteristics of the women in such senior level administrative positions that are crucial in
breaking the glass ceiling.
Moreover, the study will also ascertain the tools and resources necessary for women in the transport

Acid Rain Effects
Acid Rain as a Human Endeavour
Acid rain is a global phenomenon that has many causes and even more different consequences as a
result. The main cause of acid rain is the burning of fossil fuels and motor vehicles. The result of these
actions get released into the atmosphere. All of these fuels that are getting burnt and running motor
vehicles are releasing multiple acids into the atmosphere that gets collected by the clouds and stores
them in their moisture. As a consequence, when it rains, the acids that have been collected by the
clouds then transfer to the water and get released with the rain. Hence the term acid rain . The acids
released into the atmosphere can also be collected by snow and hail. These acid pollutants in the air
can be carried by wind current extremely easily, therefore this phenomenon can affect many places far
away from the initial site.
Although rain water is naturally acidic, sitting at pH of 5.66.5 due to the dissolved carbon dioxide
from the atmosphere. Acid rain further increases this acidity, to a pH lower than 5.6, making the rain
harmful to many things. Including; plants, soil, marine wildlife and many different kinds of building
materials (eg. Limestone and marble will get eroded by acid rain). Note: Every drop of 1 in pH level
increases the acidity by 100x. The main acids that get released into the air are: multiple sulfur oxides
(SOx), which are also released by volcanoes; and nitric oxides (NOx), which are also released into the

Relationship Between The Legislative Branch And The...
The conflicting power struggle and rival relationship between the legislative branch and the executive
branch is one that has always seemed anticipated. The relationship between a President and the
Legislative branch is not only essential but it is significant making it equally an extremely delicate
affair. One of the main questions that experts on the workings of congress have is whether or not the
legislative and executive branch are capable of effectively cooperating with one another to ultimately
promote and sustain the American agenda. George H.W. Bush s relationship with congress can be seen
as a dynamic one.

guaranteed equal opportunities for individual regardless of your race, sex, religion and more. Another
huge legislative accomplishment was the passage of the Clean Air Act making it one of the initial
influential laws on protecting our environment and specifically taking responsibility as a nation for
our waste and pollution. The Radiation Exposure Compensation Act which served as a sense of
accountability and ultimately aid to those exposed to ration caused by nuclear test was also passed

immigration. He even fought Congress to provide a bill that would help cops apprehend delinquents

Bush pushed for an increase in several budgets such as education, childcare and the advancement of

Legal Validity Of Natural Law
Legal Validity in the View of Natural Law By: Micah A. Davis October 7, 2014 Abstract In this paper,
I will propose that it is better to look at whether a law is legally valid or not through the perspective of
natural law theory as opposed to positivist theory. My argument consists mostly of the language of
improvement which can only exist based on the theory of natural law which states that law is
something which has an objective truth behind it. Only when there is an objective mark to hit can
there be hits and misses and I believe that positivism disregards the possibility of hits and misses
entirely. So, my argument is that it makes more sense to consider legal validity of a law from the
perspective of natural law rather than positive law because it includes not only the previously set up
legal system when considering validity, but it also considers the general idea of some kind of morality
as well. A sub argument is that the starting legal system must have had some basis by which to have
been created and accepted which must be some form or notion of morality. Legal validity is how valid
or forceful or authoritative a law is within a system ( Validity ). There are many different ways to
interpret what it means when a law within a system changes. One way to view it is in a positivist
perspective. That perspective claims that when a judge changes a law, he is simply stating it based on
the words in the law and his interpretation of words,

High Risk Family Assessment Health Promotion
High Risk Family Assessment Health Promotion
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Substance abuse can occur with legal drugs like alcohol, tobacco and
prescription medications, illegal drugs that are purchased on the street, or prescription drugs used for
reasons other than health. Alcohol is the most frequently used legal drug, and cocaine, heroin, and
marijuana are the most commonly used illegal drugs. Each drug has precise effects on body systems.
Some drugs can lead to acute and chronic problems; some even can cause death. Nurses are among the
few health care professionals who assess and care for substance abusers. As such, they should be
equipped to distinguish the symptoms of substance abuse and put into practice measures to support
and help these people (Bailes, 1998). Substance abuse involving drugs, alcohol, or both is linked with
a variety of negative social conditions, including family disturbances, monetary problems, lost output,
and failure in school, domestic violence, child abuse, and crime. Furthermore, both social attitudes and
legal answers to the use of alcohol and illicit drugs make substance abuse one of the most multifaceted
public health issues. Estimates of the total overall costs of substance abuse in the United States,
including lost productivity and health and crime related costs, exceed $600 billion annually
(Substance Abuse, 2012).

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Temp
As the case study eluded to there are many advantages to hiring temps but there are also some
complications that come with it as well. As the study mentioned, one of the advantages of the situation
is the amount you could save in wages and benefits. The average wages for a temp were $14.59 and
the average benefits were $18.90, compared to permanent employees with an average per hour cost of
$24.19 for wages and $10.95 for benefits. (Denisi, 2017) Although, these costs are a major advantage
in the long run, I think it s worth mentioning that there are still costs associated with this policy. For
one, many companies go through a temp agency to avoid having to sort through all the resumes.
According to Petersen (2017), many agencies charge a percentage of the hourly wage paid to the
employee. Also sometimes they will charge to run background checks and other costs associated with
the pre hiring process. Its recommended to do research and find a quality temp agency to reduce costs.
Also, a journal done by Judy GreenWald (2017), had law experts explain that the use of temp workers
invite exposure, especially if not done right. Enzo Der Boghossian, who is an associate with law firm
of Proskauer Rose L.L.P., strongly urges that an elaborate agreement should be written up to protect
the business from liability. For example, a doctrine should be written up stating that the employees are
still legally employees of the Temp agency. But according to some court cases there are still

The Meaning Of Human Reflection In Emily Dickinson s Poetry
The question of, what is human understanding, can be complex to answer. Human understanding can
be seen in two different ways. The understanding of the majority, meaning that of a group, which
follows a certain ideology. It may also be seen as, the understanding of an individual, who ultimately
decides which ideology to follow or even which to create. Since, Emily Dickinson s poetry is the
subject, it is more appropriate to view human understanding as that of an individual. This is because,
Dickinson, herself, was quite an isolated individual, keeping to herself that poetry which is being
analysed in this treatment. It seems as though Dickinson held an acute understanding of the meaning
of individuality, a very human understanding of what it means to be one in a million. Because I Could
Not Stop For Death takes the insight of a soul which has passed from life to the afterlife and the
process of interacting with death. In a similar fashion, I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died speaks of the
reflection of an individual during their last moments and how something so simple, like the buzz of a
fly, can give peace. The Brain Is Wider Than The Sky calls attention and in a way celebrates the
capacity of the human brain. Emily Dickinson s Because I Could Not Stop For Death, I Heard A Fly
Buzz When I Died, and The Brain Is Wider Than The Sky present human understanding as both
unlimited and limited, boundless and small, which defines Dickinson s view of the individual self to
be profound, reflective and limitless. In Because I Could Not Stop For Death, Emily Dickinson
presents her profound view of life after death and compares it to the human understanding of death.
There is a distinction between what is considered death and Dickinson s view of death. Death is often
seen as something unwanted, unwelcomed, but for Dickinson, death comes as a friend, he kindly
stopped for me. (408, lines 2) Dickinson views death as understanding and kind, for she would have
not stopped for death, in the way that death stopped for her. There is a definite new view of the
meaning of death in Dickinson s poem, which takes the idea of accepting death to a profound extent.
Through this human understanding is expanded and the readers are caused to

Mythology in The Virgin Suicides
When one first thinks of mythology the first things that first come to mind are probably stories of
Greek gods and goddesses, and the humans that prayed to them. We often forget that mythology does
not end or begin with the Greeks. Authors have been using mythology for many would say centuries
as a source for symbols, characters, situations, or images that conjures up universal feedback. In the
case of The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides one of the archetypes that we see play out
throughout the novel is the one of The Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary in The Virgin Suicides

the last months of the remaining Libson girls lives. Just as we had begun to despair of ever being near
them again, more laminated pictures of the Virgin Mary began showing up (Eugenides 182). We begin
to see the significance of the laminated picture of the Virgin Mary had not only to the boys but also to
the Libson girls. These cards were their only way of communicating with the outside world. They
knew that if they left these cards the person who found them would know that it was coming from

card Cecelia held and the last card the girls left were almost a sign of bad things to come. The last card
the girls left said Tomorrow. Midnight. Wait for our signal (Eugenides 195). The remaining Libson
girls wanted to in a way imitate the night their younger sister s failed suicide attempt.
The Virgin Mary also provides an allegory between her, the archetype, and the Libson girls. In the

The serial should have filled the gap in the Saturday evening show schedule between the sport

based on three main characters adventures: an handsome young man hero , who should have
commanded the interest of young boy and girls, a goodloking welldressed heroine aged about 30 , to
command the interest of older women, and a mature man, 35 40, with some character twist , to catch

relative to trajectories of major moisture flow, and latitude. The latitudinal gradient for N_sn is 5 to

value (~ 9 days / degree for areas below 3000 m) reported for CA in this study. Leeward slopes tend to

characteristics, including SCD, SCD_ES and SCD_LS (same as SCD, SCOD and SCMD in this

groups. Trends of the summary statistics were analyzed using Mann Kendal test. The results show that
SCMD shifted earlier significantly in upstream catchments of Amu Dar ya and Syr Dar ya, as well as
in the elevation range between 2500 and 3200 m, which is in agreement with our previous work and
the results of this study in general. It is reported that SCOD moved earlier significantly all over CARs,
and no significant trend of SCD change can be detected in any catchment group or elevation zone,
which differs from our findings. In this study, within the boundary of CARs, significantly decreased
SCD was observed in mountainous areas of Tien Shan and Pamir, while only patches in WP and WT
experienced SCOD shifted earlier. The disagreement might come from the different temporal overage
of the two studies, or more probably the different calculation unit used when conducting trend test. As
shown in our results, the trend of change for snow cover statistics exhibits large spatial variability.

Hormones And Levels Of These Hormones
hormones and levels of these hormones. The amount and type of hormones we experience while in the
womb are responsible for differentiating female brains from male brains and vice versa.
These two instances, the guinea pig and sex reassignment studies, lend credence to the idea that
biology influences our sexual orientation. To bolster these findings Bailey et al. (2000) cite researchers
who have explored regions of the brain that are sexually dimorphic (areas that are notably different in
men and women). Bailey et al. (2000) cites that in 1976 Dorner identified two brain regions in rats
that he implicated in sexual behavior for rats. In males he credited the medial pre optic anterior
hypothalamus (mPOA) and in female rats the area he believed to be responsible for normal sexual
behavior was the ventromedial nucleus (Bailey et al., 2000). This led to others exploring the areas of
the hypothalamus thought to contribute to sexual functioning. Ultimately it was found that several
areas in and around the mPOA appear to be sexually dimorphic. Bailey et al. (2000) mention that upon

War And Trade Between 1783-1860
War and Trade In between 1783 1860, the United States had many trade routes. One of the biggest
traders we have partnered with is Europe. We have traded about a value of $50 billion dollars or more
with Europe. Europe and America did not have conflict, there was too much at stake. Both were
making a lot of money off of each other, so if they went to war they would both most likely lose
money.War and trade were overlapping other places possibly because of money , also because of who
is trading with who and what they re trading. Trading agricultural goods and industrial goods was a
good thing, until trade partners started fighting. If trade led to war it had to have been because of
money. It also could have been because

Body Modifications Delaney
Told to us at a young age, we are supposed to love ourselves and love our bodies. Although in today s
times, that is not the case for everyone. Constantly people are changing their bodies. Whether because
society tell us to be thinner, curvier, or look a certain way, or because we believe we were supposed to
look a different way. Body modifications are common to see in millennials. Despite what most people
say about loving your body, some change to acquire the love for themselves. Although, body
modifications of how we want to look and how we feel we should have looked are two different
things; therefore, Delaney s Our Bodies, Our Selves and Screaming Queens contradict the theory of
the term body modifications. In Delaney s piece of Our

The 18th amendment was ratified on January 29,1919. The amendment went into effect about a year
later, 33 states had already authorized their own prohibition legislation. The National Prohibition Act.
Provided guidelines for the federal enforcement of prohibition. Championed by representative Andrew
Volstead of Mississippi as the Volstead Act . Even after President Woodrow Willison veto, the
Volstead Act was passed by congress. The act was passed on October 28, 1919. It was up to the
Treasury Department/ Internal Revenue Service IRS for the enforcement of the Volstead Act using
Prohibition agents employed through the IRS. It was eventually transferred to the Justice Department.
Most of the enforcers could be bribed by the bootleggers. The government had fewer than 1,600 low
paid, poorly trained prohibition agents for the entire country. The public reaction to the introduction of
prohibition was mixed. Less than one hour after prohibition took effect six gunmen hijacked a train in
Chicago and stole over $100,000 worth of whiskey that was marked for medicinal use . Prohibition
led to organized crime. speakeasies, bootleggers, bathtub gin, and a national wildness called the
roaring twenties. Prohibition turned the small gangs that existed in the early 20th century into the
powerful mafias that are still around today. A huge public demand for alcohol, made a very

Guatemal A Country And Poor Country
Guatemala is a beautiful, diverse yet small and poor country in Latin America. Because of its ongoing
economic crisis, the country has reached a reality where, according to WFP (2016), Guatemala has not
only the highest rate of malnutrition in Latin America, but also is considered the country with the
fourth biggest rate of chronic malnutrition worldwide. This topic has an enormous relevance because
as WFP (2016) mentions, the chronic malnutrition that kids from this country go though is what makes
Guatemala be one of the 36 countries in the world that form 90% of the worlds stunting. According to
Unicef (2016), the percentage of children of five years or less that are considered to be underweight is
for 4 in every 10. It is astonishing to realize that it is nearly half of the infant population in the entire
country of Guatemala that is undernourished. In the following paragraphs it will be examined
questions involving the relation that mothers have with the under nutrition of the children and if past
generations can influence under nutrition. Furthermore, it will be examined what is traditionally given
to kids at a daycare.
Is there a correlation between the relationships that mothers have with their children s under nutrition
at an early age? Can the current situation of malnutrition have been influenced by past generations?
Under nutrition is not only considered to begin at an advanced age (5 years or more). It has been
proven that infant malnutrition can begin even

  • 5. Caged Bird Analysis The role of voices in text is to give meaning and to highlight the composer s attitudes and beliefs. Maya Angelou s politically complex voice in Caged Bird explores her belief in the human rights for equality, and the freedom for every individual regardless of race or creed. Paradoxically Bruce Dawe s satirical and judgmental voice in Enter without so much knocking (Knock) conveys his criticisms of society s shallow meaningless life. Caged Bird by Angelou makes the audience reconsider the real conditions of the free bird and the caged bird . This contrast between the birds throughout the poem enables her to explore the issues of freedom and isolation in African American society. Angelou utilises various literary devices and techniques such as repetition, irony and imagery to convey her attitudes and beliefs about the beauty of freedom. Repetition is used when the poem repeats the third stanza at the end of the poem to further emphasis freedom, this reflects the two birds that are different. for the caged bird sings of freedom is the last line of stanza three conveying an important message to the readers, that the caged bird wants to be free. This allows the reader to conclude that every individual should be aware and thankful for the freedom in their society. Although less direct in conveying Angelou s attitudes and beliefs, she adequately utilises irony to enable us to further appreciate freedom. The caged bird sings with a fearful trill evokes sympathy for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At the beginning of the story Arthur is a proud and striving townsman, who enjoys life. This satisfying state deteriorates by the dreadful experiences he encounters during his stay at Eel marsh house. This affects him for the rest of his life. Arthur was an ambitious man, who was interested in building his future; we learn this in the first chapter: This house was one day to be my own home. When Arthur sees the woman in black for the second time near Eel marsh at the burial ground, he has a slight suspicion that she is not a human being: Who she was or what and how she had vanished, such questions I did not ask myself...I did not believe in ghosts. but what other explanations was there?(p66 and 68) This creates a little bit of curiosity in Arthur s mind and soon or later he finds out what she really is. It was Arthur s experiences at Eel Marsh house which damaged his mental and physical life. For how long I sat there, in extremes of despair and fear fullness, I do not know. (p76) When a person like Arthur who adopts such high grades of fearlessness and resiliency expresses his fear in such a manner he must have been terribly scared. Surely such levels of fear must affect a person. A key point in the story is when Arthur visits Eel Marsh house he explains his experiences as follows: I had been as badly frightened as a man could be (p85).

By heating the mixture, vaporizing, and condensing the vapor, the resulting substance with lower boiling point can be then collected and analyzed. In this lab two type of distillation were performed the simple and the fractional distillations. In the simple distillation, the resulting vapors immediately go through into the condenser that condenses the compound by cooling it. In the fractional distillation, the fractionating column provides theoretical plates on which the refluxing compound can condenses, re evaporate, and condenses again. Volume of distillate for both simple and fractional distillations, it can be concluded that the both technique give different results. In the simple distillation, the line appears straight. As there was only one phase, vaporization and then condensing, the process looks steady. The temperature almost rises at the first boiling point. At this point the methanol materials starts to boil off and the volume distillate increases. The temperature remained constant. As the last portion of the methanol boils off, the temperature start to increased. In the fractional distillation, the graphs appear in phases and going upwards. There is time between phases where no change take place. The temperature rises and there was no component collected yet due to the number of time that methanol is vaporizes and condenses. The graph proves that fractional distillation is better and more efficient for separation than simple distillation. In the fractional distillation technique, the initial mixture contained 00000mole % of methanol and the first distillate contained 000 of methanol. However, in the simple distillation technique the initial mixture contained 30.01mole % of methanol and the first distillate ended up only with 57.80% of methanol. This demonstrates that fractional distillation is more efficient than the simple one. The brain the recovers that recordable information that was stored to use at a later date. There are three types of memory: sensory, short term and long term. First, a split second memory of sight, sound and other senses is sensory memory. Driving down the highway, I heard a car speeding towards me. The car nearly side swiped me. I smelled the burnt rubber as it swerved to miss me. I tried to quickly look at the license plate, but the car was driving fast. I caught a first glimpse of the plate, but could not remember it. This is an example of sensory memory. Information that is not retained is forgotten. The information that is retained is then stored in our short term memory. • 12. Sexual Offenders Is The Most Vilified Type Of Offenders... Sexual offenders are the most vilified type of offenders within public opinion and the criminal justice system. The American precedent cases of Jacob Wetterling, Pam Lyncher, Megan Kanka, and other notorious crimes perpetrated by sexual offenders with a prior history of conviction have demanded a response from the criminal justice system to increase public safety. In 1994, the Jacob Wetterling Crimes against Children and Sexually Violent Offender Registration Program was passed (Scholle, 2000), the first piece of legislation to advocate for the development of state maintained registries of convicted sexual offenders. The legislation has been amended numerous times since then; in its present state, the law requires all states to maintain a registry, the mandatory registration of convicted sex offenders after release, community notification laws in place, and public access to the registry (Burchfield and Mingus, 2012; Lees and Tewksbury, 2006; Petrunik, Murphy, and Fedoroff, 2008; Scholle, 2000; Tewksbury and Lees, 2006; Wagner, 2011). Sex offender registry laws were intended to increase public safety and to reduce the reoffending rates of sexual offenders. However, this paper will argue that registration has no effect on recidivism rates and that the law actually negatively impacts rehabilitative goals because of the unforeseen issues stemming from registration. An analysis of the existing body of literature concerning registration from the United States will address the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Marya Mannes How Do You Know It s Good In a world that has become immune to accepting all types of art, Marya Mannes believes we have lost our standards and ability to identify something as good or bad . In her essay, How Do You Know It s Good , she discusses society s tendency to accept everything out of fear of wrongly labelling something as being good or bad. She touches on various criteria to judge art, such as the artist s purpose, skill and craftsmanship, originality, timelessness, as well as unity within a piece rather than chaos. She says that an individual must decide if something is good on the basis of instinct, experience, and association (Mannes). I believe that by using standards and the process of association, we will be able to judge what makes an art piece good in comparison to others. However, Mannes forces me to consider the difference between what may be appealing versus what is actually good, and when deciding which art we should accept, which is truly more important. I believe that good and bad are two ends of a large, subjective spectrum of grey area. It is possible for a piece of art to be good in some areas and bad in others, and if something does not live up to all of our standards, it does not necessarily mean it should be dismissed. Thus, I believe my personal standards for judging art are based on which my standards are largely based on the personal reaction evoked from a piece of art. Though I agree with Mannes standards to an extent, I believe that certain standards, such as evoking a personal response, can be more telling of if a piece of art is good as opposed to its timelessness, or the level of experience of an artist in his/her craft. As Mannes stated, the process of association is essential in determining the quality of art, by comparing it to the other art we have seen. I am able to judge the multitexts I have read in class by using the process of association to compare them to each other. For example, we are able to judge the quality of the pieces by comparing and contrasting them to each other. All three of our multitexts used certain writing models such as analogy poems and dialogue. I plan for my students and I to be a big family , and it will still be a learning environment. While I am teaching a lesson I would like for my students to be quite when they should be listening and participating when it is time for them to participate. I am there to guide their learning, the students will be allowed to share, correct, and exchange information when the time is appropriate. I will have the traditional teaching style which is the students paying attention to the teacher, then once the students seem to understand the content they will then be able to move around and interact with other student in either group discussions or at the learning centers throughout the classroom. My classroom will be nice and bright to keep up the positive energy, and it will still be conducted as a learning environment for my students, and they will understand that everything that they learn in my classroom will travel with them till they are old, and they will be able to understand why they are in school and what their purpose is in life.  Assumptions about the Nature of Young People and Learning Every young person wants to satisfy their basic needs which usually tends to be power, love, freedom and fun. The main cause of acid rain is the burning of fossil fuels and motor vehicles. The result of these actions get released into the atmosphere. All of these fuels that are getting burnt and running motor vehicles are releasing multiple acids into the atmosphere that gets collected by the clouds and stores them in their moisture. • 33. Legal Validity Of Natural Law Legal Validity in the View of Natural Law By: Micah A. Davis October 7, 2014 Abstract In this paper, I will propose that it is better to look at whether a law is legally valid or not through the perspective of natural law theory as opposed to positivist theory. My argument consists mostly of the language of improvement which can only exist based on the theory of natural law which states that law is something which has an objective truth behind it. Only when there is an objective mark to hit can there be hits and misses and I believe that positivism disregards the possibility of hits and misses entirely. So, my argument is that it makes more sense to consider legal validity of a law from the perspective of natural law rather than positive law because it includes not only the previously set up legal system when considering validity, but it also considers the general idea of some kind of morality as well. A sub argument is that the starting legal system must have had some basis by which to have been created and accepted which must be some form or notion of morality. Legal validity is how valid or forceful or authoritative a law is within a system ( Validity ). There are many different ways to interpret what it means when a law within a system changes. One way to view it is in a positivist perspective. That perspective claims that when a judge changes a law, he is simply stating it based on the words in the law and his interpretation of words, ... • 34. High Risk Family Assessment Health Promotion High Risk Family Assessment Health Promotion Drug and Alcohol Abuse Substance abuse can occur with legal drugs like alcohol, tobacco and prescription medications, illegal drugs that are purchased on the street, or prescription drugs used for reasons other than health. Alcohol is the most frequently used legal drug, and cocaine, heroin, and marijuana are the most commonly used illegal drugs. Each drug has precise effects on body systems. Some drugs can lead to acute and chronic problems; some even can cause death. Nurses are among the few health care professionals who assess and care for substance abusers. As such, they should be equipped to distinguish the symptoms of substance abuse and put into practice measures to support and help these people (Bailes, 1998). Substance abuse involving drugs, alcohol, or both is linked with a variety of negative social conditions, including family disturbances, monetary problems, lost output, and failure in school, domestic violence, child abuse, and crime. Furthermore, both social attitudes and legal answers to the use of alcohol and illicit drugs make substance abuse one of the most multifaceted public health issues. Estimates of the total overall costs of substance abuse in the United States, including lost productivity and health and crime related costs, exceed $600 billion annually (Substance Abuse, 2012). • 35. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Temp As the case study eluded to there are many advantages to hiring temps but there are also some complications that come with it as well. As the study mentioned, one of the advantages of the situation is the amount you could save in wages and benefits. The average wages for a temp were $14.59 and the average benefits were $18.90, compared to permanent employees with an average per hour cost of $24.19 for wages and $10.95 for benefits. (Denisi, 2017) Although, these costs are a major advantage in the long run, I think it s worth mentioning that there are still costs associated with this policy. For one, many companies go through a temp agency to avoid having to sort through all the resumes. According to Petersen (2017), many agencies charge a percentage of the hourly wage paid to the employee. Also sometimes they will charge to run background checks and other costs associated with the pre hiring process. Its recommended to do research and find a quality temp agency to reduce costs. Also, a journal done by Judy GreenWald (2017), had law experts explain that the use of temp workers invite exposure, especially if not done right. Enzo Der Boghossian, who is an associate with law firm of Proskauer Rose L.L.P., strongly urges that an elaborate agreement should be written up to protect the business from liability. For example, a doctrine should be written up stating that the employees are still legally employees of the Temp agency. But according to some court cases there are still ... Later, slaves shipped to America from Africa brought even more diseases, such as yellow fever and malaria. Ever since, American history has been riddled with infectious diseases and epidemics. Although the United States has eliminated some horrible diseases that plagued it in the past, and helped other countries cope with epidemics, deadly diseases still pose problems in America. One of the earliest epidemics faced here was introduced by European explorers. • 37. The Meaning Of Human Reflection In Emily Dickinson s Poetry The question of, what is human understanding, can be complex to answer. Human understanding can be seen in two different ways. The understanding of the majority, meaning that of a group, which follows a certain ideology. It may also be seen as, the understanding of an individual, who ultimately decides which ideology to follow or even which to create. Since, Emily Dickinson s poetry is the subject, it is more appropriate to view human understanding as that of an individual. This is because, Dickinson, herself, was quite an isolated individual, keeping to herself that poetry which is being analysed in this treatment. It seems as though Dickinson held an acute understanding of the meaning of individuality, a very human understanding of what it means to be one in a million. Because I Could Not Stop For Death takes the insight of a soul which has passed from life to the afterlife and the process of interacting with death. In a similar fashion, I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died speaks of the reflection of an individual during their last moments and how something so simple, like the buzz of a fly, can give peace. The Brain Is Wider Than The Sky calls attention and in a way celebrates the capacity of the human brain. Emily Dickinson s Because I Could Not Stop For Death, I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died, and The Brain Is Wider Than The Sky present human understanding as both unlimited and limited, boundless and small, which defines Dickinson s view of the individual self to be profound, reflective and limitless. In Because I Could Not Stop For Death, Emily Dickinson presents her profound view of life after death and compares it to the human understanding of death. There is a distinction between what is considered death and Dickinson s view of death. Death is often seen as something unwanted, unwelcomed, but for Dickinson, death comes as a friend, he kindly stopped for me. (408, lines 2) Dickinson views death as understanding and kind, for she would have not stopped for death, in the way that death stopped for her. There is a definite new view of the meaning of death in Dickinson s poem, which takes the idea of accepting death to a profound extent. Through this human understanding is expanded and the readers are caused to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mythology in The Virgin Suicides When one first thinks of mythology the first things that first come to mind are probably stories of Greek gods and goddesses, and the humans that prayed to them. We often forget that mythology does not end or begin with the Greeks. Authors have been using mythology for many would say centuries as a source for symbols, characters, situations, or images that conjures up universal feedback. In the case of The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides one of the archetypes that we see play out throughout the novel is the one of The Virgin Mary. Spatial distribution of the number of snow covered days (N_sn, similar as SCD in this study) is found to be related with altitude, exposition of macro slope relative to trajectories of major moisture flow, and latitude. The latitudinal gradient for N_sn is 5 to 9.5 days / degree with a mean of 8 days / degree for the Northern Hemisphere, comparable with the value (~ 9 days / degree for areas below 3000 m) reported for CA in this study. Trends of the summary statistics were analyzed using Mann Kendal test. The results show that SCMD shifted earlier significantly in upstream catchments of Amu Dar ya and Syr Dar ya, as well as in the elevation range between 2500 and 3200 m, which is in agreement with our previous work and the results of this study in general. It is reported that SCOD moved earlier significantly all over CARs, and no significant trend of SCD change can be detected in any catchment group or elevation zone, which differs from our findings. In this study, within the boundary of CARs, significantly decreased SCD was observed in mountainous areas of Tien Shan and Pamir, while only patches in WP and WT experienced SCOD shifted earlier. The disagreement might come from the different temporal overage of the two studies, or more probably the different calculation unit used when conducting trend test. The amount and type of hormones we experience while in the womb are responsible for differentiating female brains from male brains and vice versa. These two instances, the guinea pig and sex reassignment studies, lend credence to the idea that biology influences our sexual orientation. To bolster these findings Bailey et al. (2000) cite researchers who have explored regions of the brain that are sexually dimorphic (areas that are notably different in men and women). Bailey et al. (2000) cites that in 1976 Dorner identified two brain regions in rats that he implicated in sexual behavior for rats. In males he credited the medial pre optic anterior hypothalamus (mPOA) and in female rats the area he believed to be responsible for normal sexual behavior was the ventromedial nucleus (Bailey et al., 2000). This led to others exploring the areas of the hypothalamus thought to contribute to sexual functioning. Ultimately it was found that several areas in and around the mPOA appear to be sexually dimorphic. Bailey et al. (2000) mention that upon comparisons of what is expected when looking at these areas in gay men there is a difference in size. An area near/in the mPOA called INAH 3 is found to be smaller and contain fewer cells in women compared to men. Gay men showed size and levels higher than women but less than men.
