Mayor De Blasio Case Study
Mayor de Blasio Obviously Pleased Prosecutors Didn t Bring Charges in Fundraising Probes New
York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is might easily win a second term, all thanks to the state and federal
prosecutors clearing two separate year long probes into his campaign fundraising practices.
Addressing the decision Thursday afternoon in City Hall, de Blasio repeatedly denied any
wrongdoing, deflecting reporters questions by responding the issue has been exhaustively investigated
and told reporters this would be the final time he would discuss this matter. It simply confirms what I
ve said all along and I was obviously pleased to see the issue closed, de Blasio said in a combative
news conference with reporters. My staff, my colleagues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They had to make a judgement on whether anything inappropriate happened and their judgement was
it did not. The move to conclude de Blasio parallel criminal probes came just days after Preet Bharara,
the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, was fired by President Trump. Bharara led
the year long investigation into the mayor fundraising after a lead investigator at the state Board of
Elections asked prosecutors to investigate whether de Blasio broke the law by funneling campaign
contributions to Democratic state Senate candidates through state committee groups to evade donation
contribution limits. Just last month, de Blasio met with Bharara voluntary for four hours regarding the
probe. The meeting was considered to be the final step in determining whether or not charges would
be brought. Since the meeting with Bharara, de Blasio refused to go into detail about what was
discussed due to the matter being an active investigation. Now with the investigation closed, half the
question the mayor faced during Thursday press conference were about disclosing the details of the

What Are The Similarities Between China And Ancient Rome
Both Rome and China have similar and varying cultural aspects. Rome and China both were very
efficient cultures, which produced many new inventions that benefitted the world around them. Both
cultures were heavily influenced by their beliefs, and those beliefs also influenced the ways they
celebrated, or participated in the arts. While both cultures contributed to the world around them, both
cultures shared strong belief systems that led to cultural celebrations and artistic endeavors, they still
were very different from one another. The ancient Romans were a very productive and creative
society. They created public toilets, sewage systems, and public baths. The Romans made concrete, so
the roads and sidewalks would be leveled and smoother. If the Romans hadn t made those things then
people won t have any privacy of their own and the grounds also won t be leveled. While ancient
Rome was responsible for many creations, the ancient Chinese people were also responsible for
creating some cool stuff too. They created books with bamboo strips, and paper. They also made
gunpowder. The Chinese also made a compass, so when people get lost they can just look at the
compass and see if they are going north, south, east, and west. If the Chinese hadn t made these things

This impacted their daily lives. The majority are Roman Catholic, but most of them don t participate
on a regular basis. The expectation for the men, women, and children were that the men go to school
and the women get instructed on how to be wives and mothers. Their daily lives were also very unique
because there was different types of families. One of them is the patrician which means father, and the
fathers were the nobles of Rome. Another type of family is the patria potestas. The patria potestas is a

Houghton Hancock Area 25 Year Housing Plan
Houghton Hancock Area 25 Year Housing Plan
Background
The Houghton and Hancock area is heavy influenced by Finlandia and Michigan Tech Universities
with roughly 7,500 students between them. The cities of Houghton and Hancock had a total
population between them of 12,342 using data from the 2010 census. Seven percent of the population
of Houghton are 65 years of age or older whereas 13.8 percent of the State of Michigan s population is
of that age. The median household income was $27,661 and the median family income of $56,146 for
Houghton for the period of 2009 2013 with 42.1 percent of persons falling below the poverty level
(US Census and City of Houghton Master Plan). There are 1,734.1 persons per square mile in
Houghton. Because more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 2006 Campus Master Plan states that the dormitory style rooms of Douglas Houghton Hall,
Wadsworth, and McNair are not appropriate to upper class students and that apartment style housing is
needed. As of 2015, Michigan Tech offers a limited number of apartment units between Hillside Place
and the aging and out of style Daniell Heights apartments. There are several hotels in the area that
provide tourists a place to stay during summers and key events throughout the year.
Future Housing Approximately two thirds of Michigan Tech students live off campus, so around 4,600
students. Students demand rental housing so a large demand is created in Houghton, especially
locations closest to Michigan Tech s campus. Michigan Tech estimated the need for an additional 400
beds mostly in apartment style housing for student use in their 2006 Master Plan. Housing costs at
Michigan Tech run $9393 and up (including food) per academic year so rent should be marketed lower
to make it a viable option considering commuting expenses and inconveniences to campus. Many
houses Tech students live in now are larger low cost homes that are past/ well past their prime. As
these houses need to be removed, an emphasis should be placed on apartment style units as well as
semi, duplexes and up. Low rise or garden apartments would make the most sense for the area
considering the smaller population. A high rise apartment should only be

Film Ideology
Assignment 2 Film and Ideology
The definition of the word ideology can be represented in many ways. Today s basic understanding of
the word can be defined as the body of ideas reflecting the social needs and aspirations of an
individual, group, class, or culture (Farlex, 2009).Gus Van Sant s exceptional biopic Milk (Gus Van
Sant, 2008) depicts the story of Harvey Milk, the slain gay rights activist who became the first openly
gay man elected to any substantial political office in the history of the planet. Harvey Milk s life
changed history his courage still motivates people today, his ideals still teach people today and his
hope still inspire people today. The release of Milk in 2008 has helped to bring back a new sense of ...

Throughout Milk we can see that Harvey, though a very passionate gay rights activist, is not only
looking out for the queer folk. He holds dear to the ideal that everyone is equal. In a way he embodies
what Kinsey and Freud say. He did not believe in just one norm. In his fight for gay rights he isn t
trying to one up the vast heterosexual majority by over throwing them and getting homosexuals to run
the world, he is merely trying to get them to see that homosexuals are no different from any other
person. Harvey Milk was trying to break down the social barriers that led to narrow minded thinking
of just one social norm. In Milk during one of the public rally s he had, Harvey said that all men are
created equal. No matter how hard you try, you can never erase those words he believed these words
with all his heart. To Harvey Milk, he wasn t just fighting for gay rights; he was fighting for a way of
life that did not constrict its citizens to conform to just one social norm.
Milk, Gus Van Sant s film project that was close to two decades in the making, was released on the
26th of November 2008 and marks the 30th anniversary of Harvey Milk s death and the brief but
brilliant political career he led. Harvey Milk was unfortunately gunned down on November 27th 1978,

Why School Sports Should Be Banned
Schools are banning sports because of the high prices and education. Would you want to ban school
sports from your school? No, schools should not ban sports! Kids have the right to do sports. Why?
Well, people who work for the district think that school sports cut of education are wrong. A study
shows that kids actually do well and have a higher percent on tests, than others who do not do sports.
Sports make the mind stronger. In text it states, The ancient Greeks understood that to discipline the

The Extracellular Matrix of Multi-Cellular Animals
The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a feature of all multi cellular animals . It is a complex network of
proteins secreted locally by cells via exocytosisalberts. The protein components that form the ECM
include proteoglycans, glycoproteins such as fibronectin and fibres such as collagen. In addition a
family of five matricellular proteins called thrombospondins are present.
All cells are in close contact with the ECM either continuously or at important phases of their
development27. The ECM provides a physical environment in which a cell exists. It supplies the
substrate for cell anchorage, wound repair and for transmitting environmental signals which affects the
proliferation, differentiation and survival of a cell 1.
Even though the assembly of ECM proteins into the highly organized functional matrix is known to be
absolutely vital for the survival and normal development of animals it is still not fully understood5.
Continued understanding of this dynamic structure is needed due to the important role the ECM plays
in the normal development and function of tissues, homeostasis, wound repair and regeneration in
multi cellular organisms. Therefore among the many ECM protein components that interact, the
formation of collagen networks is pertinent to this study.
The collagens are arguably the most dominant protein in the ECM. The collagens represent a large
heterogeneous family of ECM glycoproteins which contain at least one triple helical domain collagen
family. All

Disability Discrimination And Americans With Disability...
1. Introduction In the field of legal research and practices, it is against the law to discriminate any
person against his/her disability in various areas of their lives. Today, discrimination against disability
has become a complete law by which a person can sue the other party for being discriminated on any
impairment. In the United States, the law is covered by Americans with Disability Act (ADA). The
law prevents one party (specifically employers) to discriminate other party (particularly employees)
on the basis of their physical impairments. The purpose of this paper is to discuss and analyze
disability discrimination. The paper will include detail description and history of disability
discrimination and Americans with Disability Act (ADA). The paper will also include three cases
showing background, issues, questions and holdings of each case. Finally, opinion will be provided for
the paper and conclusion will be drawn on the basis of discussion.
2. Disability Discrimination Disability discrimination refers to a situation in which an employer or
other entity covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended, or the Rehabilitation Act,
as amended, treats a qualified person with a disability who is an employee or application unfavorably
because of his/her disability. Disability discrimination also tends to occur when an employer treats an
applicant or employee less favorably because of his/her medical history or because they are believed

Comparing Tom Stoppard s Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are...
We as individuals most certainly believe that we have the ability to choose whatever we desire. It is in
our power to decide between good and bad.We as human beings are more fortunate than other species
with this ability. There are no obligations in our decisions, it is entirely up to us.Philosophers and
psychologist call this ability, Free Will.
On the other hand, most humans understand the fact that everything happens for a reason, every action
has a reaction and the world runs on cause and effect. The leaf on the tree falls because the wind
blow. This philosophical position [1] is called Determinism.
A great example of these two features in human lives are amazingly shown in Tom Stoppard s play

Fatalism can also be seen in the character Claudius, the new king of Denmark, Hamlet s uncle who

inking s fate to be killed by Hamlet. The ghost of his brother gives the mission to Hamlet and when he

China s Second Hand Trade Essay
2.1 General Introduction Second hand trades have been growing rapidly in the past __ years. The
second hand industry grew at about 7% a year in 2014 and 2015, according to the National
Association of Resale Professionals (Narts). Second hand luxury goods, in particularly, has become a
unique segment standing out among the rest of second hand products. While companies like The Real
Real and What Goes Around Comes Around (WGACA) have been successfully enticed U.S.
customers to sell and buy second hand luxury, they might have left another huge group of potential
customers behind international college students from China, who carry a stack of cash to the US each
year and share a strong enthusiasm towards luxury brands at a young age like most middle class
Chinese. This study intends to focus on Chinese students studying in the US, their culturally specific
motivations and concerns for shopping second hand luxury so as to provide insights for local second
hand stores to better attract them as potential customers. 2.2 Development of Second hand Stores The
second hand trade started during the 14th century in Europe when new garments were too expensive
to afford for the majority (Frick, 2005). Ever since then, second hand business has been growing with
ups and downs ( ). From a global perspective, Today, there are over 25,000 second hand stores in the
US, according to the Association of Resale Professionals. The whole resale industry is worth of

Slapshot And Goon Analysis
Hockey is a sport that dates its roots back to the 19th century in Canada. It has always been considered
a violent and brutal sport. The puck which is the thing they slide around on the ice and shoot with.
Now, that word comes from the Scottish word puc , which literally means to punch or deliver a blow.
The violence and brutality associated with hockey is an immediate draw for a crowd at the movies,
because in Hockey games when players fight everyone is standing, cheering, and they probably have
their phone out recording. The Directors for Slapshot and Goon both incorporated the violence of
hockey with the use of things like old time hockey and enforcers in their films. Although some people
would argue that Slapshot is a better and different movie from Goon, these movies are similar because
of their use of old time hockey, violence, vulgarity, and a final game or battle in each movie.
Moreover, these two movies both incorporate violence through the use of old time hockey, which
means to play a really physical game with checks along the boards, slapshots, fights, and brutality
while giving it all on the ice. In the film Slapshot, they show old time hockey in every game, they
shoot slapshots, they get physical along the boards with checks, and they have full line brawls, where
everyone on the ice grabs a guy on the other team and starts fighting. In the film Goon, all the players
are physical, but it follow a more individual approach focusing on one Goon named

Imagine living in a city where hundreds of people go missing in just 6 months. Then, we find out that
on person is suspected of killing over 200 people. This serial killer, is Herman Webster Mudgett,
common alias H. H. Holmes. It happened at the Chicago World s Fair when the head architect, Daniel

through historical records, letters, and documents, we know Burnham and his intentions, were good.
In Erik Larson s, The Devil in the White City, Holmes and Burnham are polar opposite brought
together by the Chicago World s Fair. Holmes represents evil while Burnham represents good.
However, they do have two things in common, their negative perspective about women and their want
for riches.
Both Holmes and Burnham exhibit a great determination to become rich. If Burnham could obtain
enough money to out Eiffel Eiffel he could become the greatest architect (156). Holmes would kill
anyone to get money, his only problem was that he couldn t kill under the radar. However, the Chicago

Pros And Cons Of Daycare
Daycare is the care of a child during the day or even the night of a child by another person not their
guardian. Children usually go to daycare because their parents work during the day or they have other
duties that require that the child be taken care of someone else. That person taking care of the child
usually has a license and has a set place to be able to take care of children, unless it is someone from
the family or a friend. Daycare is a great option for many people but it also means that there are many
risks that parents or guardians need to consider when deciding if they want to do it.
Does daycare really affect children? There are many pros and cons of child daycare. In my personal
experience when I was very young I didn t go to any type of daycare until I was about 10. My parents
have always worked and my sister and I have had to go to daycare since I was 10. When I went to
daycare it was a pretty good experience because I had the company of my sister with me so I wasn t as
lonely. When I went to daycare it taught me that there are so many things to learn like sharing, and
caring about others feelings. I always knew that I should be sharing with everyone and that I should
always care about what others are feeling. Going to daycare just helped me to keep learning even
more of what I already knew and what I did. I learned to share with other kids that weren t related to

The United Kingdom s Economy After The European Union
Early this year the United Kingdom held a referendum to decide whether to leave or stay apart of the
European Union. This event is called the Brexit (Britain exiting the European Union), but even though
the acronym only includes Britain it means the entirety of the United Kingdom. In the referendum,
most of England and Whales voted to leave while Northern Ireland and Scotland voted to stay.
Ultimately the United Kingdom s vote was won in favor of leaving the EU with a 51.9% vote to stay
and a 48.1% vote to leave (BBC News). Now the question is what does this mean for the UK and how
will this impact its economy in the future? It may be too early to tell how this will play out, but for us
to identify what is happening now we must thoroughly and truly understand the reasons for this Brexit
in the first place.
By looking at the United Kingdom s economy after the referendum, it seems that nothing has

Examples Of Madness In Tell Tale Heart
Madness is an idea that has been widely explored and theorized throughout the ages, particularly
within Shakespearean literature and other works along those lines. It is nearly impossible to establish a
working definition of madness itself, because there are so many different forms of madness shown
throughout time, as well as different contexts. It breaks down to subjectivity, along with time and
place, and situational circumstances. In Edgar Allan Poe s Tell Tale Heart, a perhaps unusual form of
madness rears it s head, the madness of passion, and how too much exertion on a single passion may
in fact lead to madness. Tell Tale Heart explores the idea of passion operating as a gateway for
madness, which is then followed by a state of delirium, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Foucault also states that delirium is essentially the most integral part of madness when he states: this
remorse, this belief, this hallucination, these speeches, in short, this complex of convictions and
images which constitutes a delirium. (96) Although Foucault was referring to an example from
Diemerbroek, a man who suffered from melancholia, it is clear that these same principles are
applicable to the hallucinations and delusions the narrator experiences in Tell Tale Heart. The
heightened sense of hearing for instance, shows that the narrator not only felt that he or she had a
superior sense of hearing that allowed them to hear things the average human wouldn t hear, such as a
person s heartbeat from a distance, or people having a normal volume level conversation from afar,
but it also shows that the narrator believed that this sense of hearing was real, rather than it being
imagined, which it most likely was. As far as the speeches Foucault is referring to, it is apparent that
the narrator experiences these as well, perhaps not in the traditional speaking to another person form,
but more along the lines of giving the

The Mafia s Money Laundering
Money Laundering
The term money laundering is said to create from Mafia possession of Laundromats in the United
States. Gangsters there were earning huge sums in cash from extortion, prostitution, gambling and
bootleg liquor. They needed to demonstrate a legitimate source for these monies.
Money laundering is the process by which criminals try to conceal the true origion and ownership of
the proceeds of their criminal activity, allowing them to maintain control over the proceeds and, in the
end, providing a legitimate cover for their sources of income .
In the 1980 s, money laundering was considered only as interest basically with drug trackling
backgrund. It created trouble in western society, because the profit genration was increasing from
criminal activities. Therefore, there was a force from society to take action against drug dealers by
introducing legislation that would remove them of their illegal gains.
Government soon identified that criminal organizations, which made massive profits from drugs,
could corrupt the system of state at all levels.
Money laundering is a worldwide trend, supported by international society which is a 24hrs a day
business. If one closes, another opens for business.
As a 1993 UN Report noted: The essential features of laundering of profits of crime are its global
nature, the flexibility and adapbility of its operations. These make the crime in an organized manner.

Expanding Child Participation in Prevention and Elimination of Child labor through Peer Education
and Child Labor Monitoring (A Concept Paper) I. RATIONALE: A. BACKGROUND A survey
conducted by the National Statistics Office (NSO) and international labor Organization (ILO) in 2011
estimated working children, 5 to 17 years old at 5.5 million. 3 million or 54.5 % were engaged in
hazardous child labour. Under the law, child labor is defined as any form of work or economic activity
performed by a child that subjects him/ her to exploitation, is harmful to health and safety, physical
and mental or psychosocial development. The top three industries are agriculture, hunting, forestry,
wholesale and retail, and private households. Over 60% are in agriculture while 30% are in the service
sector. Families and children often times refuse to see the risks of dangerous occupation to children.
They believe that it is necessary to be able to help in addressing the needs of the family. Regardless of
the danger they face, children are forced into labour due to poverty and lack of available resources and
services for their needs. School represent the most important means of drawing children away from
labour. However, despite policy for free education, children do not attend school due to costs of books,
projects, school supplies, meals and transportation and possible lost earnings. On January 2013, The
Department of Labor and Employment, introduced the roll out of a convergence

Milk Science Experiment
My science experiment has 3 different results but there was only one that matched my hypothesis.
After applying all my steps to the soda, when I put it through the strainer the soda completely went
through the strainer; there was nothing left behind. Later after applying all my steps to the juice. i also
put it through a strainer and i ended up with the same result as the soda. The only liquid i didn t get a
bad result for was the milk. The milk went through the strainer and left behind this white squishy
looking material. It looked almost as if it were some type of white goo.
With my science project i gained a greater understanding on how vinegar can create a chemical
reaction so quickly when working with other liquids. I learned that the lumps left behind in the
strainer from the milk are actually called casein . The individual protein strands within the milk and
the vinegar combine to make the solid, also known as a polymer molecule strand. The globs are made
of fat minerals and the protein.. The combination of heat and vinegar (acetic acid) helps to pull out or
precipitate the protein casein from the milk. In fact, this plastic is environmentally friendly because it
will eventually decompose, unlike plastics made from petroleum products. ... Show more content on

Why Were The Loyalists In The Early Twentieth Century
The loyalists had a long tradition of mural painting, dating back to the early twentieth century in
which they would paint murals to celebrate the Twelfth of July, a day which commemorates the
Protestant victory over Catholics at the Battle of Boyne in 1690. Therefore, many of their murals
reflect not only their ideals but make figurative stabs at the nationalist and Catholic communities.
These types of murals remained mainly a holiday celebration until the 1980 s when nationalists,
frustrated at their own inability to legally create similar murals decided to step up and begin doing so
anyway, sparking rapid mural creation on both sides. The republican mural tradition got a slow start
for several reasons. Not only did they lack the cultural celebratory reasons for creating them that the
loyalists had, there were also economic factors at play. A simple ... Show more content on

For example, while the Red Hand of Ulster was originally used by both sides it came to symbolize the
loyalists willingness to fight on, whatever the cost. The Red Hand of Ulster supposedly refers to a
mythic contest between local chieftains in which the winner cut off his own hand in order to win the
contest as well as to take control of disputed territory. For the loyalists, they used the symbol to show
that they would sacrifice whatever was necessary to retain control of the territory they saw as
rightfully theirs and to prevent rule by the republican Irish. Loyalists often also used the Union flag in
their mural designs in an effort to link their cause with overall British causes, eliciting sympathy and
support from other British people outside of Northern Ireland. Ultimately, loyalist murals tried to
portray themselves as heroic guardians of a fragile, but ultimately just, political system under constant
threat from the dangerous and violent terrorists of the republican

Cognitive Dissonance In The Freakonomics
It is sobering to consider that each of us is only one person in a nation of millions ( a world of
billions), most of whom have opinions and prejudices no less firmly held than our own. As products of
human nature, while inexplicably diverse, futile and out of control, our species shares certain
similarities in the way we acquire our beliefs. As a whole, the conclusion of our beliefs is
incommensurable, vast and contradicting. The reason lies in the notion that we are slaves to human
nature and the human condition. And while we may all be victims of it, it plays no hindrance in our
individuality. Overall, people determine where their beliefs lie through the experiences that found their
human existence and the level in which they endure cognitive dissonance. Individuals rely on the
human experience to define not only their self concept but their conviction. According to the theory of
mind, humans can only intuit the existence of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

simple as your name can affect your beliefs. This is evident on the basis that your name changes the
way in which people perceive you which in turn directly effects and influences your experiences. The
most blatant evidence of this is the cultural segregation that names can cultivate. If you are a person
with a Black name and this fact alone lowers your chances of being hired for a job, it is exceedingly
difficult for someone who must face this reality, to not hold negative beliefs toward the group who is

and defined objectives for elementary and secondary students across the United
States. These guidelines consist of what every student from kindergarten to the 12th grade should

The lessons will be more difficult and rigorous to teach because it requires students to develop higher
critical thinking skills. Jobs may be on the line if students do not perform well on assessments.
Students are faced with a bigger challenge with CCSS. No longer will memorizing information be
enough for students to graduate to the next grade level but a higher level of thinking will be required
for all students. According to the CCSS, the skills required to master the concepts for the next level
and after graduation of high school will be beneficial to all students. While this may be theoretically
true students in low socioeconomic communities who attend low performing schools may be at a
disadvantage. These schools are already having trouble with students performing at previous
standards. Providing more challenging standards may prove to be insurmountable for these schools
and students which may lead to jobs being lost and state legislators taking control of the school. The
mathematical standards of the CCSS build upon the high quality of standards for mathematics across
the United States. These standards are developed from the best international practices along with
research and input from different experts and educators. The math standards provide clarity and
specificity that stresses upon conceptual understanding of key ideas and organizing principles to
structure those ideas. The

Brady Tragic Hero
Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee s drama Inherit the Wind depicts the story of the Scopes Monkey
Trial. It takes place in a small religious community where talking about evolution is against the law. A
schoolteacher within the town had been caught teaching Darwinism to his science class, which drew
attention from people all over the country. A famous lawyer named Henry Drummond arrived to
defend him, while a man named Matthew Harrison Brady, a well liked religious figure, visited to
prosecute him. It could be argued that Brady possessed the traits of a tragic hero, which is a flawed
character that suffers for his beliefs. Brady s choices and ways make him fit the traits of a tragic hero.

Joseph Hayden s String Band Essay
Joseph Haydn was one of the most acclaimed composers of the Classical Era. Known as the father of
the string quartet, he has created music that is withstanding the test of time and only becoming more
eminent in today s choice of literature. Hayden s String Quartet in C Major, Op. 74, No. 1, Movement
III, is one of so many that deserve a closer look and a keen eye to decipher. The use of elements such
as balance, harmonic closure, form and modulations are easy to look over at first glance. However,
through active listening and chord analysis, it becomes easier to absorb the material and thoroughly
appreciate the masterpiece. While looking at the bigger picture, we can see that the overall form of the
piece is ternary with smaller binary sections within. The entire beginning Menuetto section can be
considered an A section, which would make the Trio the B section. This is considered ternary because
after both sections have been completed, the A section is repeated once again (without its internal
repeats) and ends on a strong tonic cadence without continuing on to the B section. The A section
contains a binary form in itself. This is easily visible with the use of repeat signs from measure 1 14
(a) and then signifies b from measures 15 60 (also the end of A). Although beginning material is
repeated in this b section, in measures 32 39, Hayden takes the piece elsewhere with a small scale
tonicization of a bVI chord and continuing on in a different manner than a.

The Human Psyche, By Michel De Montaigne And Sir Francis...
When King David considered the majesty and greatness of God, he felt insignificant by comparison,
and asks, what is man that you are mindful of him? In Psalm 8 of The Bible, David stands in awe of
the majesty of the Lord, and when he realizes how vast and magnificent God truly is, he is even more
amazed that God would take the time to notice him a mere mortal man. Buried deep in the human
psyche is the desire to explore the subjects that give human life meaning, and the question of what it
means to be human has been a source of contemplation for as long as recorded history. The
Renaissance essayists, Michel de Montaigne and Sir Francis Bacon, with their immense minds and
insatiable curiosity, used the literary form of the essay in an attempt to capture the world in its entirety
and its diversity: every thought, every experience, and every inquiry in their work questions the
intrinsic value of humanity. The intelligence and imagination of these two essayists becomes a small
universe , in which the individual can articulate the way in which humans think about the world and
their relation to it. Montaigne s essay, Of Experience (1580 92), and Bacon s Of Studies and Of Truth
( 1625) are critical meditations that raise fundamental questions about the nature of human endeavour,
and suggest that knowledge of what it means to be human is to be found in observation through
experience, rather than through reason alone. The writers and philosophers of the

The Bible And The Wiersbe Bible Commentary Essay
In this paper, I will write a scriptural response to the assigned reading of the NIV Study Bible and the
Wiersbe Bible Commentary. I will write my response to the reading from Deuteronomy in the NIV
Study Bible and Wiersbe Bible Commentary. Obedience God stresses the importance of obedience all
through Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy starts with Moses retelling of how Israel delivered from
oppression by God. How if they had only been obedient in the first place they would not have had to
wander in the wilderness for all these years. Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach
you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land the Lord the
God of your ancestors, is giving you (NIV Deuteronomy 4:1). Moses later says, Keep his decrees and
commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you
and that you may live long in the land the LORD you God give you for all time (NIV Deuteronomy
4:40). Moses reminds them that they should fear the LORD. And now, Israel, what does the LORD
your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him to love him, to
serve the LORD you God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD S
commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good (NIV 10:12 13). Moses also
reminds Israel that by staying obedient to God and by following God s commands, He has declared
that he will set you in praise, fame

Mayor De Blasio Case Study Mayor de Blasio Obviously Pleased Prosecutors Didn t Bring Charges in Fundraising Probes New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is might easily win a second term, all thanks to the state and federal prosecutors clearing two separate year long probes into his campaign fundraising practices. Addressing the decision Thursday afternoon in City Hall, de Blasio repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, deflecting reporters questions by responding the issue has been exhaustively investigated and told reporters this would be the final time he would discuss this matter. It simply confirms what I ve said all along and I was obviously pleased to see the issue closed, de Blasio said in a combative news conference with reporters. My staff, my colleagues ... The move to conclude de Blasio parallel criminal probes came just days after Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, was fired by President Trump. Bharara led the year long investigation into the mayor fundraising after a lead investigator at the state Board of Elections asked prosecutors to investigate whether de Blasio broke the law by funneling campaign contributions to Democratic state Senate candidates through state committee groups to evade donation contribution limits. Just last month, de Blasio met with Bharara voluntary for four hours regarding the probe. The meeting was considered to be the final step in determining whether or not charges would be brought. Since the meeting with Bharara, de Blasio refused to go into detail about what was discussed due to the matter being an active investigation. • 3. What Are The Similarities Between China And Ancient Rome Both Rome and China have similar and varying cultural aspects. Rome and China both were very efficient cultures, which produced many new inventions that benefitted the world around them. Both cultures were heavily influenced by their beliefs, and those beliefs also influenced the ways they celebrated, or participated in the arts. While both cultures contributed to the world around them, both cultures shared strong belief systems that led to cultural celebrations and artistic endeavors, they still were very different from one another. The ancient Romans were a very productive and creative society. They created public toilets, sewage systems, and public baths. The Romans made concrete, so the roads and sidewalks would be leveled and smoother. If the Romans hadn t made those things then people won t have any privacy of their own and the grounds also won t be leveled. While ancient Rome was responsible for many creations, the ancient Chinese people were also responsible for creating some cool stuff too. They created books with bamboo strips, and paper. They also made gunpowder. The Chinese also made a compass, so when people get lost they can just look at the compass and see if they are going north, south, east, and west. The 2006 Campus Master Plan states that the dormitory style rooms of Douglas Houghton Hall, Wadsworth, and McNair are not appropriate to upper class students and that apartment style housing is needed. As of 2015, Michigan Tech offers a limited number of apartment units between Hillside Place and the aging and out of style Daniell Heights apartments. There are several hotels in the area that provide tourists a place to stay during summers and key events throughout the year. Future Housing Approximately two thirds of Michigan Tech students live off campus, so around 4,600 students. Students demand rental housing so a large demand is created in Houghton, especially locations closest to Michigan Tech s campus. Michigan Tech estimated the need for an additional 400 beds mostly in apartment style housing for student use in their 2006 Master Plan. Housing costs at Michigan Tech run $9393 and up (including food) per academic year so rent should be marketed lower to make it a viable option considering commuting expenses and inconveniences to campus. Many houses Tech students live in now are larger low cost homes that are past/ well past their prime. As these houses need to be removed, an emphasis should be placed on apartment style units as well as semi, duplexes and up. Low rise or garden apartments would make the most sense for the area considering the smaller population. A high rise apartment should only be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout Milk we can see that Harvey, though a very passionate gay rights activist, is not only looking out for the queer folk. He holds dear to the ideal that everyone is equal. In a way he embodies what Kinsey and Freud say. He did not believe in just one norm. In his fight for gay rights he isn t trying to one up the vast heterosexual majority by over throwing them and getting homosexuals to run the world, he is merely trying to get them to see that homosexuals are no different from any other person. Harvey Milk was trying to break down the social barriers that led to narrow minded thinking of just one social norm. In Milk during one of the public rally s he had, Harvey said that all men are created equal. No matter how hard you try, you can never erase those words he believed these words with all his heart. To Harvey Milk, he wasn t just fighting for gay rights; he was fighting for a way of life that did not constrict its citizens to conform to just one social norm. Milk, Gus Van Sant s film project that was close to two decades in the making, was released on the 26th of November 2008 and marks the 30th anniversary of Harvey Milk s death and the brief but brilliant political career he led. • 7. The Extracellular Matrix of Multi-Cellular Animals The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a feature of all multi cellular animals . It is a complex network of proteins secreted locally by cells via exocytosisalberts. The protein components that form the ECM include proteoglycans, glycoproteins such as fibronectin and fibres such as collagen. In addition a family of five matricellular proteins called thrombospondins are present. All cells are in close contact with the ECM either continuously or at important phases of their development27. The ECM provides a physical environment in which a cell exists. It supplies the substrate for cell anchorage, wound repair and for transmitting environmental signals which affects the proliferation, differentiation and survival of a cell 1. Even though the assembly of ECM proteins into the highly organized functional matrix is known to be absolutely vital for the survival and normal development of animals it is still not fully understood5. Continued understanding of this dynamic structure is needed due to the important role the ECM plays in the normal development and function of tissues, homeostasis, wound repair and regeneration in multi cellular organisms. Therefore among the many ECM protein components that interact, the formation of collagen networks is pertinent to this study. The collagens are arguably the most dominant protein in the ECM. The collagens represent a large heterogeneous family of ECM glycoproteins which contain at least one triple helical domain collagen family. All ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The violence and brutality associated with hockey is an immediate draw for a crowd at the movies, because in Hockey games when players fight everyone is standing, cheering, and they probably have their phone out recording. The Directors for Slapshot and Goon both incorporated the violence of hockey with the use of things like old time hockey and enforcers in their films. Moreover, these two movies both incorporate violence through the use of old time hockey, which means to play a really physical game with checks along the boards, slapshots, fights, and brutality while giving it all on the ice. In the film Slapshot, they show old time hockey in every game, they shoot slapshots, they get physical along the boards with checks, and they have full line brawls, where everyone on the ice grabs a guy on the other team and starts fighting. It is nearly impossible to establish a working definition of madness itself, because there are so many different forms of madness shown throughout time, as well as different contexts. It breaks down to subjectivity, along with time and place, and situational circumstances. In Edgar Allan Poe s Tell Tale Heart, a perhaps unusual form of madness rears it s head, the madness of passion, and how too much exertion on a single passion may in fact lead to madness. The heightened sense of hearing for instance, shows that the narrator not only felt that he or she had a superior sense of hearing that allowed them to hear things the average human wouldn t hear, such as a person s heartbeat from a distance, or people having a normal volume level conversation from afar, but it also shows that the narrator believed that this sense of hearing was real, rather than it being imagined, which it most likely was. Therefore, many of their murals reflect not only their ideals but make figurative stabs at the nationalist and Catholic communities. These types of murals remained mainly a holiday celebration until the 1980 s when nationalists, frustrated at their own inability to legally create similar murals decided to step up and begin doing so anyway, sparking rapid mural creation on both sides. It was actually a restraining order filed against me by that police horse that patrols Goodale Park. Don t ask. Then I received THIS letter from the lovely Julie! Proceed... Dear Emily, This boy I have been talking to has never had pumpkin pie. Is there any point in talking to him further? Sincerely, Clueless in Columbus Dear Clueless, I m so glad you wrote me. As a 30 something hound owner, I am an expert on making relationships work! A couple of scenarios would excuse his lack of exposure to pumpkin pie. 1) For most of his life he was in a coma and unable to consume pie. 2) He was captured by gypsies at young age. Everyone knows that gypsies prefer apple pie with a crumb topping. 3) He is a communist. This does not excuse his behavior but it does explain his lack of pumpkin pie consumption. According to the CCSS, the skills required to master the concepts for the next level and after graduation of high school will be beneficial to all students. While this may be theoretically true students in low socioeconomic communities who attend low performing schools may be at a disadvantage. The mathematical standards of the CCSS build upon the high quality of standards for mathematics across the United States. It had to have been a repeated behavior, since Mrs. Brady mentioned the doctor warning Brady about overheating. Furthermore, Brady didn t stop to calm down after getting worked up over the lack of attention from observers. To illustrate, as Brady s face began turning red, he freezes. • 37. Joseph Hayden s String Band Essay Joseph Haydn was one of the most acclaimed composers of the Classical Era. Known as the father of the string quartet, he has created music that is withstanding the test of time and only becoming more eminent in today s choice of literature. Hayden s String Quartet in C Major, Op. 74, No. 1, Movement III, is one of so many that deserve a closer look and a keen eye to decipher. The use of elements such as balance, harmonic closure, form and modulations are easy to look over at first glance. However, through active listening and chord analysis, it becomes easier to absorb the material and thoroughly appreciate the masterpiece. While looking at the bigger picture, we can see that the overall form of the piece is ternary with smaller binary sections within. The entire beginning Menuetto section can be considered an A section, which would make the Trio the B section. This is considered ternary because after both sections have been completed, the A section is repeated once again (without its internal repeats) and ends on a strong tonic cadence without continuing on to the B section. The A section contains a binary form in itself. This is easily visible with the use of repeat signs from measure 1 14 (a) and then signifies b from measures 15 60 (also the end of A). Although beginning material is repeated in this b section, in measures 32 39, Hayden takes the piece elsewhere with a small scale tonicization of a bVI chord and continuing on in a different manner than a. ... • 38. The Human Psyche, By Michel De Montaigne And Sir Francis... When King David considered the majesty and greatness of God, he felt insignificant by comparison, and asks, what is man that you are mindful of him? In Psalm 8 of The Bible, David stands in awe of the majesty of the Lord, and when he realizes how vast and magnificent God truly is, he is even more amazed that God would take the time to notice him a mere mortal man. Buried deep in the human psyche is the desire to explore the subjects that give human life meaning, and the question of what it means to be human has been a source of contemplation for as long as recorded history. The Renaissance essayists, Michel de Montaigne and Sir Francis Bacon, with their immense minds and insatiable curiosity, used the literary form of the essay in an attempt to capture the world in its entirety and its diversity: every thought, every experience, and every inquiry in their work questions the intrinsic value of humanity. The intelligence and imagination of these two essayists becomes a small universe , in which the individual can articulate the way in which humans think about the world and their relation to it. Montaigne s essay, Of Experience (1580 92), and Bacon s Of Studies and Of Truth ( 1625) are critical meditations that raise fundamental questions about the nature of human endeavour, and suggest that knowledge of what it means to be human is to be found in observation through experience, rather than through reason alone. • 40. The Bible And The Wiersbe Bible Commentary Essay In this paper, I will write a scriptural response to the assigned reading of the NIV Study Bible and the Wiersbe Bible Commentary. I will write my response to the reading from Deuteronomy in the NIV Study Bible and Wiersbe Bible Commentary. Obedience God stresses the importance of obedience all through Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy starts with Moses retelling of how Israel delivered from oppression by God. How if they had only been obedient in the first place they would not have had to wander in the wilderness for all these years. Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land the Lord the God of your ancestors, is giving you (NIV Deuteronomy 4:1). Moses later says, Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD you God give you for all time (NIV Deuteronomy 4:40). Moses reminds them that they should fear the LORD. And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him to love him, to serve the LORD you God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD S commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good (NIV 10:12 13).
