It s Time to Redesign the Parking Lot Essay
When the bell rings for students to go home the quiet and serene field of asphalt in front of school
becomes a sinkhole and everyone is fighting to get out. Most school parking lots are accessible, safe,
and orderly; the Hinckley Big Rock High School parking lot is an accident waiting to happen. With so
many problems, a slight redesign of the schools main parking lot would seem practical.
Anytime the idea of making any corrections or additions to the parking lot comes up in a discussion,
the notion is put down due to the time the parking lot would be unusable while under renovation. How
long does it take pavers to put in a residential driveway? A licensed and bonded concrete crew can lay
multiple driveways ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the first hour bell rings on the first day of school the parking lot has few cars and they are
packed into certain areas. Why should spots be handed out numerically? A first come first serve basis
for assigning parking spots to students only causes crowding and large empty spaces. With only
enough cars to fill up half a parking lot, it would make sense to spread them out evenly. Numbers for
these spots should be first handed out evens first, so at least for awhile there will be an ease of
entering and exiting individual parking spots with out having to watch out for every other vehicle
around. Then later in the year as needed the odd numbered spots can be issued, filling up all empty
spaces.
When vehicles are on both sides of a spot it can be difficult to pull straight into a parking spot without
having to back out and try again because of the tight aisle. If all the spots are tight together and the
students have to back in there will be a large back up and there will be total tyranny.
Hinckley Big Rock High School has many students that come from farming families and for the most
part drive trucks. These trucks can be inches or even feet longer than the spot that is provided to them.
These students need larger spots because the part of their vehicle that is sticking out into the aisle is

An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Compare And Contrast
The short story An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce is a short story about a man
named Peyton Farquhar is about to be hanged. The story takes place during the Civil War and
Farquhar is constantly thinking of his wife and children at home. He dreams that he is able to escape
and run to safety, where he finds his wife. When he goes to hug her, he suddenly feels a strong pain
around his neck. Farquhar is then hanging off the bridge with the noose still around his neck. He
imagined all of this before he was hanged. The story and the film of An Occurrence at Owl Creek
Bridge have many differences. An example of a difference would be the detail in the story opposed to
the film. In the story, you can use many descriptive words to

The Playboy Of The Western World Critique
The Playboy of the Western World Critique I was overall extremely impressed with the University of
Houston s production of The Playboy of The Western World. The play and the intention of comedy
were both carried out very well by the actors. I felt that I was engaged in the play, seeming like I was
actually a part of the performance. The theatre department s attempt on this play was very worthwhile,
providing both a good laugh and a superb form of entertainment. The predominant theme of this play
was the chaotic father/son relationship. The message the play is trying to give is that children can go
against their fathers, rioting against them and disobeying their orders and expectations, and how a
stereotypical message of disobedience is sent. In the worst of cases, the father becomes nearly
powerless, unable to act or alter the situation in anyway. I do agree with the message that sometimes
children can have control over their parents, and how sometimes there is nothing that can be done
about it. In the play, it was exactly like that when Christy tried to kill his father three times without
ever obeying a single one of his commands and even getting in a face to face fight with him. I have
also witnessed this situation in other TV shows and novels. I found that message to be extremely
disturbing for me in The Playboy of the Western World. The idea of a son killing his father was a
terrible idea for my brain to comprehend during the course of the play. However, I must say

WHAT IS IP v 6?
IPv6 was designed during the mid 1990s, when the Internet Engineering Task Force
(IETF) realised that IPv4 address size constraints would soon be a major impediment to the continued
growth of the Internet. IPv6 was first known as the Next Generation
Internet Protocol (IPng) during development within the IETF. Since 1998, it has officially been known
as IPv6. In the transition to IPv6, both IPv6 and IPv4 will co exist until IPv6 eventually replaces IPv4.
The most obvious difference between IPv6 and IPv4 is the vastly expanded IP address space available
The most obvious difference between IPv6 and IPv4 is the address size. IPv6 addresses comprise 128
bits, whereas IPv4 addresses comprise 32 bits. This difference results in a huge expansion in available
IP address space:
◊ I Pv4: 2 32 a ddresses equals 4.3 billion addresses (less than the global human p opulation of 4.7
billion)
◊ I Pv6: 2 128 a ddresses. Because the last 64 bits are used to allocate a ddresses within a subnet, that
leaves 2 64, which equals 18 billion billion s ubnet addresses.
IPv6 is not backwardly compatible with IPv4
Whilst IPv6 performs the same address function as IPv4, IPv6 is

Mathematical Interview Report
For my mathematical interview I interviewed Gracie, a third grade student. She is eight years old, and
loves shopkins, makeup, and fashion. Her best friends are Olivia, Charlotte, and Ava. In Gracie s free
time she enjoys going to dance class and singing. After I learned more about her, I asked Gracie what
she was learning in math. She told me they were working on multiplication, and she was working on
her two s. Gracie then sang me her math rap, which she loved because singing is one of her favorite
hobbies. To find out about Gracie s counting abilities, I asked her the highest number she could count
to, and she said 1,000. Since I did not want to make her sit there and go from 1 to 1,000, I had her start
from 950 and go forward. She said

Heat Transmission Of Thermal Energy
Running Head: Report
Heat transmission Heat transmission is the process through which heat is transferred in swap of
thermal energy that exists between the physical systems, depending on the pressure and temperature
by dissipating heat. The essential modes of transferring the heat are convection, conduction or
diffusion and radiation. Heat is transferred from region of high temperature to low temperature region.
The various modes of heat transfer are as follows:
Conduction
Conduction mode of heat transfer is the process in which transfer of energy is taken place between the
objects that are having the physical existence. In this process heat is spreads through a matter when

In radiation heat can be transferred through empty breathing space with the help of thermal radiation.
Building are designed and built with the purpose to provide shelter and comfort zone to the living of
human being. Buildings are also a major source to rescue from the external temperature, various
unstable weather conditions and environment. In accordance with the natural rule the human beings
release well defined amount of heat in order to feel comfortable. The reduction of heat will maintain
the normal body temperature of human being. If the heat is not released the person will not maintain
its normal body temperature and feel either cold or hot. Heat is released to maintain the body
temperature and to maintain that normality heat must be released into the external environment. Heat
will help to maintain the temperature if required amount of heat is not released it would create a
warmer temperature and resultant a suffocation and if too much heat is released temperature could
become cooler. Heat can be released through various building elements such as doors, floors, windows
or building sealing. Heat transferred due to the certain loads, these loads are also known as the fabric
heat gain or loss. Generally heat is transferred from high temperature region to low temperature
region. Heat transmission through building, wall, and floor or of any construction can be expressed in
the form of an equation. The equation is as follows. Ht?= U A

Al Capone Gang Stereotypes
Al Capone
Gangs have many stereotypes, stereotypes on how gangs work and the structure behind them. The
other major stereotype is the focus on criminal behavior, and the blaming of gangs for criminal acts
(Moore). The research on gangs and drugs is small, because not many people have been able to
infiltrate the gangs and make gang members speak (Kobler). The police and the media make the
public afraid of the gangs because of the drugs and the violence. The media shows the gangs in a
terrible light to attract better audiences. What is known about gangs, is almost all heard from the
media and the police who essentially blow the event out of proportion and make it look worse than
what it actually is (Moore). Al Capone was seen as a violent man ... Show more content on

As he was leaving the courtroom, he was arrested for contempt of court (FBI). The reason he was
arrested was that he attended a racetrack in the Miami area and had taken a plane trip to Bimini and a
cruise to Nassau when he was supposed to be in his bed. The penalty could be one year in prison and a
fine of only a thousand dollars. Capone posted a five thousand dollar bail and was released (History

Capone s first arrest was for carrying a concealed weapon in Philadelphia. Within sixteen hours, they
had all been sentence to a one year term (Al Capone Biography). Capone served his time and was
released in nine months for good behavior (Woog).
Capone was arrested again for tax invasion. His mob bribed the jury, but on the day of the court date,
the judge suddenly switched the bribed jury with a new one that had been chosen the night before (Al

and was sentenced to eleven years. Capone also picked up a $50,000 fine and a court cost of 30,000

International Business Transactions Have Many Elements...
Introduction Those organizations wishing to engage in international business transactions have many
elements they must consider. One of these elements is that of foreign exchange rates, the rate at which
one currency can be converted into another (Hill, 2014, p. 296). While a company may be located in
the United States, they may engage in commerce with organizations in foreign markets that require
payment in their domestic currencies. Organizations must pay careful attention to these exchange
rates, as their fluctuations can significantly impact the costs of doing international business, as
demonstrated in the first section. While exchange rates are determined by the supply and demand of
currencies on the foreign exchange market ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Identify the spot and forward exchange rates between the two currencies. What factors influence your
decision to use each? Which one would you choose? How many dollars must you spend to acquire the
amount of yen required? This organization wishes to limit its transaction exposure when paying its
Japanese supplier in six months. This exposure reflects how the cost of this transaction is affected by
foreign exchange price fluctuations (p. 313). Because the exchange rate is expected to fluctuate during
this period, the ¥1,000,000 will payment will cost the organization differing amounts depending on
which exchange rate is used for the conversion of the domestic currency into the Japanese Yen, which
will impact the organizations profit margins. There are two options for this conversion, the spot
exchange rate and the forward exchange rate. The spot exchange rate is the currency conversion rate
on a specific date (p. 298). As of May 28, 2016, the spot exchange rate for the conversion of U.S.
dollars into Japanese yen is $1=¥110.36 (USD/JPY US Dollar Japanese Yen , n.d.). If the organization
chose to convert its domestic currency into Yen on this date, the organization would be required
exchange $9,061.26 (rounded up) to fulfill the ¥1,000,000 requirement. An alternative to this rate is
the forward exchange rate. This rate is the currency exchange rate governing transactions that occur in

Summary Of Oliver Twist
Oliver Twist is the narrative of a youthful vagrant, Oliver, and his endeavors to remain great in a
general public that declines to help. Oliver is conceived in a workhouse, to a mother not known to
anybody in the town. She passes on directly in the wake of bringing forth him, and he is sent to the
parochial halfway house, where he and alternate vagrants are dealt with unpleasantly and sustained
practically nothing. When he turns nine, he is sent to the workhouse, where again he and the others are
dealt with severely and for all intents and purposes starved. Alternate young men, unfit to stand their
appetite any more, choose to attract straws to pick who should go up and request more nourishment.
Oliver loses. On the designated day, subsequent to completing his initially serving of gruel, he goes up
and requests more. Mr. Blunder, the beadle, and the board are offended, and choose they should
dispose of Oliver, apprenticing him to the parochial funeral director, Mr. Sowerberry. It isn t
extraordinary there either, and after an assault on his mom s memory, Oliver flees.
Oliver strolls towards London. When he is close, he is so powerless he can scarcely proceed, and he
meets another kid named Jack Dawkins, or the cunning Dodger. The Dodger reveals to Oliver he can
accompany him to a place where a man of his word will give him a place to rest and sustenance, for
no lease. Oliver takes after, and the Dodger takes him to a flat in London where he meets Fagin, the

How Did Doyle Write The Hound Of The Baskervilles
Arthur Conan Doyle s Beliefs that Impact his Writing Arthur Conan Doyle believed in the paranormal
realms. That belief has helped inspire The Hound of the Baskervilles. In 1901, Doyle went on a
vacation with his friend, Fletcher Robinson, who first told him about the legend of the hound from
Dartmoor, Devonshire (Major 862). In the same year Doyle wrote The Hound of the Baskervilles,
which he called a real creeper based on the legend (Major 862). Sherlock Holmes was put in as an
afterthought, possibly because of the pressure Doyle felt from fans for Doyle s killing Holmes (Major
862). The Hound in The Hound of the Baskervilles is portrayed as a frightening being, who kills
because of the Baskerville family curse. Although hellhounds ... Show more content on

Unknown Blood Cells Lab Report
Introduction When foreign antigens enter the body, chemical signals are dispatched to different parts
of the immune system and send it into action. B lymphocytes produce the antigen specific antibodies.
The antibodies will then attach to the antigen/virus and T lymphocytes will attack the antigen that the
antibody has bound itself to. Once the antigen has been eliminated phagocytes, which are cells that
absorb bacteria and other small particles/substances, will come through and absorb the remains of the
antigen/infection. In a forensic setting antibodies can also be used to identify an unknown
blood/protein. The purpose of this experiment is to use the process of immunoprecipitation to identify

Richard Brannon Generative Reasoning Perspective
This essay, in part, is set out to investigate how, and to what extent Richard Branson s strategic
methods relates to De Wit and Meyer s (2004) description of generative reasoning perspective and
rational reasoning perspective. An analysis based comparison between generative reasoning
perspective and rational reasoning perspective will present arguments on how the methodologies
between the two types of strategic thinking perspectives fuels the debate over which approach to
strategy may not only more effective, but also correlates to Branson s own strategic thinking method.
Secondly, a discussion on whether Richard Branson is a characteristic design thinker as described by
Liedtka will be put forth as well as an examination as to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is further argued by advocates of RRP that such reasoning strongly resembles the problem solving
approach of chess grand masters (Simon, 1987). This argument opens up certain views that RRP
revolves around a central theme that when dealing with strategic thinking, deductive and inductive
logic is commonly used.
Yet again with the use of Table 1 (Appendix 1), characteristics on RRP can be recognized. With this
information, we can start to identify to what extent Branson fits in with the RRP model. Arguably,
RRP is seen as more of a figurative way of thinking whereby decisions are based primarily on factual
information. With this understanding, Branson periodically demonstrates a RRP way of strategizing on
how he performs business.
The first clear example of Branson using the RRP is shown in the case study whereby he uses factual
based reasoning in regards to his efforts of expanding the product line of his company to different
areas in the market. Branson used analytical data stating that 96 percent of the United Kingdom
recognized the Virgin logo. Branson used the Virgin logo to help diversify into other currently
booming industries around the United Kingdom and other parts of the world (i.e. book publishing,
computer game development, soft drink manufacturing, cinemas and even financial services).
Arguably Branson would not have endeavored into this mode of expansion so quickly if he had not
known the statistical backing that

So we stayed in Nice for two weeks, joined a beach club on the Mediterranean for eleven dollars each,

We were just about ready to run out of money when we decided to go to a casino in Monaco, which
was right next to Nice you could walk there. We took whatever cash we had and put it on the roulette
wheel on the black. I m nowhere near an expert when it comes to casino games, I replied while

with two greens. You get paid one to one for your nine to ten in Las Vegas casinos and those in other

Research Employment Laws Is A Tough One
Picking out just one country to research employment laws was a tough one. I have been very fortunate
that during my childhood (I was a military brat, and lived everywhere) and even the last 16 years of
my adult life (from being in the military myself, and being married to a service member) I have been
to many countries around the world. I have enjoyed my time everywhere I have been, as I am one that
always makes the best of the new situation. I probably would be a great expatriate for a company,
since I am one that loves to indulge myself in the local culture and just learn as much as I can when I
am there. I decided on Germany, as that is one country I have spent the most time in, and one of my
best friends (that is born and raised there) is from there. I have always enjoyed the history and culture
of that country as well.
Hours Worked/Minimum Working Age When I lived in Germany I always thought it was frustrating
that everything was closed on Sundays; as Sundays are my days for grocery shopping, errands and
getting things ready for the following week. I had to learn to re do my routines to accommodate this;
but fortunately, being in Germany as military personnel, I was able to go on post (or base) to get
necessary shopping done as well since American posts/bases were run by American law. Germany has
a law in place that dictates the amount of hours per day/week/year that a person can work and this law
is the Working Time Act (WTA). According to Jung (2001), the

Blankets In First Nation Connotations
Throughout the centuries, the gift of a blanket has been associated with feelings of warmth, respect
and kindness from those giving a blanket towards those receiving it. Our article below covers just a
few of the aspects that come to mind when we give a blanket as a gift or even when we dream about
blankets in a dream or see one in a vision of sorts.
Blankets In First Nation Connotations
Depending on the particular first nation identity, such as Dakota, or even down to specific tribes
within a first nation, the blanket may mean something different from one national identity to another.
Moreover, they may be given during different times for various reasons.
For instance, a respected Teton Sioux elder may choose to wrap a wool blanket around ... Show more

In other words, the spirit of the father transfers to the younger who then passes it on to perhaps a
misunderstood child later on in life. Essentially, with the mere laying on of a blanket on their
shoulders or on their backs, an adoption process takes place; moreover, the family and tribe grows
with subsequent members who then become part of the community.
Blanket Giving In Other Cultures
Once again, depending on the culture in which blankets are given, blankets become talismans and take
on a spiritual dimension especially when worn in some dance ritual. Blankets can symbolize

Hollywood Comparison Of Pride And Prejudice
Jane Austen s famous novel Pride and Prejudice has had many film adaptations over the years. Two of
the most popular are the 1995 miniseries, and the 2005 Hollywood film. Both of these films have
many similarities, as well as many differences, and they both have strong points when representing the
novel and the Regency Period. However, the 1995 miniseries takes the cake when it comes to
accuracy. The miniseries is much longer than the movie, and as such, it gives more time for the
characters to grow and develop. The movie feels much more rushed; the pacing is too fast. The movie
also gives a more modern feel about love and romance. It is far more dramatic, and overly emotional,
such as the initial proposal between Darcy and Elizabeth. It took place out in the open, on a rainy day,
rather than privately in a home. The movie Elizabeth is more sensational and exciting, shouting her
emotions, rather than explaining them in a calm and collected manner like 1995 Elizabeth. ... Show

Not counting Knightley s emotional outbursts, both Elizabeths were wonderful. They were both witty,
and feisty; more independent and intelligent than many of the other female role. Darcy was just as
reserved and proud. Mrs. Bennet and Lydia managed to be extremely grating and annoying in each
film, and Mr. Bennet just as subtly funny with his sarcasm. Both Janes are shy, sweet, and kind
(though 2005 Jane had more of a personality). Mr. Collins, unfortunately, is just as cringe worthy and
disgusting. Both adaptations share much of the same dialogue, especially when it comes from

Case Study Of Marketing Affin Bank
LACK OF MARKETING AND BRANDING TACTICS Strategic marketing is the way a firm (bank)
effectively differentiates itself from its competitors by capitalising on its strengths (both current and
potential) to provide consistently better value to customers than its competitors. The marketing or
promotion strategy that Affin bank strategizes can be considered as weak as compared to other
financial institutions. The issue on promotional efforts are only too focusing on advertising through
their official website and the placing of bunting at Affin bank s various branches. Thus, the
communications of such promotions are not made in large scale. Furthermore, the web design is also
an important tool in marketing Affin bank brand awareness. The issue that lies in its web design are

SUBJECT: THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION
What is a revolution?
A revolution is a complete radical and pervasive change in the structure of the economy and social
structure. And it is mainly due to poverty, starving society, technology, and communication.
Russian revolution:
The tsar Nicholas II ruled Russia. Russia entered the World War I, under the leader Nicholas II.
Russian involvement in the war compounded by problems and corruption and weak economy reduced
the desperate straits. The Russian citizens were threatened because of the shortage of fuel and bread.

The Russian Revolution widely spread Karl Marx s economic idea of communism. As we know now,
communism has not worked out in history but in the 1900 s it was a very popular idea. The Russian
Revolution had many outcomes that were good and bad. The main positive effects are that the czarist
rule comes to an end and gives workers and peasants the right to interfere in the Russian society.
Moreover, after the revolution, Lenin created free education throughout Russia. Another positive
effect was that Lenin made the eight hour working day, which greatly improved working conditions.
On the other hand, there are some negative effects resulting from the Russian revolution for sure such
as the spread of communism around the world that was the reason for World War II. Another negative
effect was that 15 million people die after the Bolsheviks and anti Bolsheviks sweep Russia. After the
revolution, people s freedom was lost and people couldn t read, write, or say whatever they want.
People were also not allowed to celebrate religion as religious leaders were murdered and churches
were destroyed.

Forgiveness In John Grisham s Bleachers
John Grisham s, Bleachers conveys the theme, forgiveness can help to heal wounds, as Coach Rake s
time starts counting down and the players must take the last chance they must have to find
forgiveness. Forgiveness although most of the time has to do with more than one person, throughout
the novel forgiveness is shown by one person forgiving themselves. No one who was in the locker
room during halftime of the 1987 game would ever forget what happened. It was a wound to
everyone. A coach punching a player, he could have been fired. But not one person chose to share
about it to anyone, until it was dug up 15 years later. Everyone there was affected by it, especially
Coach Eddie Rake and Neely Crenshaw. Neely was so amazingly infuriated about it that, after he took
his anger back out against him, he took it out on the field. And as the Messina Spartans pulled a
victory after being down by a whole lot and were thought to have no chance, Rake was on the

The Obesity Epidemic in America Essays
Obesity among Americans has been a growing issue in the United States predominantly over the past
decade. Many may argue American s are obese because of poor food choices, over eating, genetic
disposition, lack of exercise, or the environment which one lives, while others blame it all on fast food
chains and restaurants. Throughout my research I have come to find a lot of facts and statistics about
fast food consumption causing obesity. Statistics show that without a doubt the United States is the
most obese country in the world. Since Americans typically live hectic lifestyles, fast food is a quick
and easy way to grab a meal on the go. However, eating fast food frequently provides the body with

Obesity is a serious health concern and should not be ignored. According to Sassi Obesity and the
chronic diseases associated with it are killers, with severely obese people dying eight to ten years
earlier than their peers . This means leaving ones family, friends and loved ones up to eight to 10 years
earlier than necessary. In the article Overweight and Obesity: Health Consequences, an estimated
300,000 deaths per year may be attributes to obesity . With this in mind, when ones life is busy and
hectic that 3 minute drive thru may be quick and convenient for the moment, but think of the long run

Unfortunately, Americans are consuming more fast food now than ever before. In 1952 there was
exactly one McDonalds in all of America, an entire six pack of Coca Cola had fewer ounces of soda

obesity slowly began to rise; many did not think anything of if it until obesity hit a shocking 23% in

The Romantic Movement Of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Did I request thee, Maker, from my clay To mould me Man, did I solicit thee From darkness to
promote me? (Important Quotes Explained). With Frankenstein being written in the early 19th century,
the Romantic movement, being as popular as ever, was clearly evident in Shelley s writings. Shelley s
mom, an active feminist, died during childbirth, leaving Mary to grow up with a radical political
philosopher and novelist, William Godwin, as her father. Victor Frankenstein, the main character, has
a strong desire for the pursuit of knowledge, which he eventually learns is more harmful than helpful.
The creature of the story, who remains nameless, is Victor s creation who although is seen to be evil
by others, actually has a pure heart. Robert Walton is the narrator of the book, telling Frankenstein s
story, who also shares his dangerous desire for knowledge. If Mary Shelley s 1818 novel,
Frankenstein, has survived for nearly 200 years, it may be due to the historical context of the romantic
movement, the way that the story stems from the author s own personal life, and the characters who
portray the idea that knowledge may be treacherous.
Frankenstein was written in the 19th century, a time for new creative ideas. During this century, the
Romantic movement become very prominent. This romantic period was a time of artistic, literary, and
intellectual growth (Romanticism). It was a period of enlightenment and a time of questioning the
world. Part of this movement was based off

A Brief Note On The American Heart Association
I still need a catchy intro The American Heart Association published an article on October 7th, 2015.
About polyunsaturated fats also known as PUFAs. PUFAs are consisted of one unsaturated carbon
bond in the molecule called a double bond Omega 3 and Omega 6, and they are easily found in oils.
Our bodies can make most of the fats that are needed, however a member of the University of
Maryland s Medical System stated that our bodies can t make some of the essential fatty acids, also
known as Omega 3s and Omega 6s. Omega 3 is very essential because it helps all of our tissues in our
bodies function. Research shows that it can also help reduce inflammation and it may help lower risk
of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer and arthritis. Omega 3 lowers the levels of
Triglycerides (fats in the blood), when your blood is filled with triglycerides it gets thick which makes
your heart work harder than usual. It is also very important for infants to receive Omega 3 from their
mothers during pregnancy are at risk for developing vision and nerve problems.
Omega 6, is an essential fatty acid just like Omega 3 our bodies cannot produce them but we can get
them through food. Omega 6, plays a crucial role in brain function, growth, and development. Also, it
helps with hair growth, bone health, regulate metabolism, and maintain the reproductive system. A
healthy diet is consisted of a balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 because Omega 3 fatty acids help

In addition, the strong theme of nationalism throughout this time period encouraged the loss of
individuality. Lastly, men in positions of authority in the novel dehumanized soldiers by abusing their
position of power. Overall, the events of the war promoted the development of the inhumanity of

Resettlement policy and practices can be analyzed by different context and perspective. In the United
States, resettlement policy has become a humanitarian issue which related to human rights and social
justice. USCIS has been playing an important role in identifying the refugees documents and
supporting them to make legal person in USA.
Capps, R., Newland, K. (2015) have discussed that refugee resettlement policy in a different host
country like USA from different perspectives for example how to address the primarily pre and post
migration issue is different. In this seminal work the author has discussed the increasing diversity of

James Dean: The Man That Lives On
James Dean once said, If a man can bridge the gap between life and death, I mean, if he can live on
after he s died, then maybe he was a great man. James Dean probably did not know he would be a man
that would qualify for this statement at the time it was said, but there is no doubt that he lived to
achieve it (Howlett 1). James Dean is an important American figure because he represented a powerful
character to many people, was a very popular and successful actor, and he was able to encourage a
new way of thought among a not so expressive society. Today we remember Mr.Dean as the
spontaneous character that inspired a new way of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He did however have one serious relationship towards the beginning of his career. The girl s name was
Liz Sheridan and she was engaged to James. After his engagement ended, he still managed to have
countless lovers. He was even rumored to having an affair with Marilyn Monroe. His lovers ranged
from both sexes, though he never had defined himself as bisexual (James Dean). This daringness to
oppose society was one of the Dean s most famous qualities.
James Dean was able to represent a society challenging and influential individual on and off the
screen. Yes his talent itself left many in awe, but it was more of the impact he was able to have on
people s perspectives. James s characters were easy to relate to since they all represented him quite
accurately. All three of his films were a major success. These films are east of Eden, Rebel Without a
Cause, and Giant. Even with his short life, he was nominated many times and won two awards. His
nominations included two Golden Globe awards (which he won), two BAFTA awards, and two
Academy Awards. His nominations were mostly for best actor (Awards). This was most likely because
his passion for his art really showed in his films. James really was a well trained and strict actor even
though his persona gave off a more casual and relaxed vibe. James wrote in a letter to his family:

Leadership And Hofstede s Six Dimensions
Leadership and Hofstede s Six Dimensions
Maneuvering through the sea of cultural differences in the workplace in today s business can be tricky.
As companies become more global, and employ people from different cultures, leaders must learn to
adapt to differences among these cultures if they wish to succeed. Leading the same across cultures
may not have positive outcomes. In this writing, I will discuss Hofstede s six cultural dimensions and
how they relate to leadership. I will then explain what combinations of these dimensions, I feel, make
the most effective leader. First, let s discuss the six dimensions of leadership.
Six Dimensions and Leadership
Between 1967 and 1973, IBM collected data of employee value scores. (Hofstede, ... Show more

Participative leadership style would be used in this case, giving followers the ability to be a part of
decision making.
Individualism Versus Collectivism (IDV)
This dimension measures how tight or loose knit the social framework is among people. (Hofstede,
2001, para. 5). Countries that measure on the higher side of this scale have more individualism,
meaning they look out for themselves and their immediate families. On the opposite end of this scale,
collectivism; people look at the better good of the group keeping all interests in mind. The leadership
for individualism is based more on one on one types of interactions, focusing on strengths of the
individual. (Ori, n.d.). In a collectivism environment, the leader will focus on the betterment of the
group, possibly utilizing a laissez faire style of leadership.
Masculinity Versus Femininity (MAS)
In the MAS dimension, societies that are high in masculinity focus more on achievements and are
more competitive. On opposite end of this dimension, society is focused more on caring for each
other, worried more about the quality of life. The leadership style for a high masculinity dimension
would be procedural, being more task orientated vs relationship based. ( Sides of Leadership, 2005).
The style for a low masculinity or feminine side would be more of a democratic, or even

Conclusion For Universal Health Care
Premise 1: A universal health care system would reduce health care costs.
Premise 2: Universal health care improves overall public health.
Premise 3: Universal health care would encourage patients to practice preventive medicine.
Premise 4: Healthcare would be affordable to all citizens if made universal.
Conclusion: Therefore, implementing a universal health care system in our society would greatly
benefit everyone.
Reducing Health Costs
With a universal health care system, the government would have control and run the system, therefore,
the cost of healthcare would be regulated. A universal health care system would be regulated by the
government, so costs overall would be reduced with a more monitored system to reduce inflated costs
for tests, hospital stays and procedures. (Ireland, 2017) When you regulate medical costs, the cost of
medical coverage, supplies, and prescriptions are more affordable for everyone.
Improved Overall Public Health
With universal healthcare being more affordable, everyone gets equal access to medical health care.
This can lead to a reduction in the number of medical issues suffered by our society. According to
Howard K. Koh, M.D., we can absolutely expect for overall public health to improve if we provide
quality, affordable health care coverage for all Americans. (Cohen, 2009) This means people would
miss less work and/or school. This also means that more people could be seen for some of the most
basic ailments such as colds,

Hypothyroidism often causes a person to sleep a lot, but the person is still tired. The parathyroids are
located within the thyroid, secrete parathormone, and controls levels of calcium and phosphates in the
body. The parathyroids are also involved with controlling excitability levels (Morris and Maisto,
2002).
The pancreas is located between the stomach and small intestine, and secretes insulin and glucagon to
balance blood sugar levels in the body. When the pancreas does not work properly, a person may be
diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, which is more commonly known simply as Diabetes (Morris and
Maisto, 2002). People with diabetes suffer from extreme thirst, fatigue, lack of or increased appetite,
and a myriad of other symptoms if their condition is not controlled properly with diet, exercise, and
medications (if needed) (Steadman s Concise Medical Dictionary, 2001).
The gonads are the male and female reproductive organs, the testes (males) and ovaries (females). The
testes and ovaries produce androgens (testosterone) and estrogens, these hormones affect
aggressiveness, mood, and sexual interest and behavior. Higher levels of these hormones have been
shown to promote aggressiveness in both sexes (Morris and Maisto, 2002).
The last glands are the adrenal glands, which are located above the kidneys, and have an inner core
and an outer layer. The inner core is called the adrenal medulla, and the outer layer is known as the
adrenal cortex.

The Characteristics Of Generational Differences In The...

Generational Differences in the Classroom
Most people have a learning style that mirrors how they were taught when they were younger. It
should be noted that there is not a one size fits all method when it comes to learning. The key to being
able to appeal to each of the different generations is to offer diversity in teaching styles in order to
satisfy the different preferences. As of now, there are four generations that are in the workforce and
those four generations are: The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials.
This paper will examine the characteristics of these four generations, how their learning styles differ,
and what to provide to each group in order for their learning experience to be most rewarding.
The Silent Generation was born between the mid 1920 s to early 1940 s. The silent generation was
born in the middle of the Great Depression, and saw their parents struggle with finance issues
(Levonius, 2015). This generation learned to value the money that they had and tended to save more
than spend. This generation was raised in the midst of the World War, therefore this generation
preferred to keep their heads down and stay silent while working hard to achieve slow progress
(Levonius, 2015). In the classroom, members of this generation prefer to be in the background and not
the center of attention. They are a group that respects authority, does what is asked of them and does
not quit the job until complete. This generation grew up in a teacher centric educational system,
meaning that children should be seen and not heard. While they were in school if they spoke out of
turn there was usually some sort of punishment. The silent generation has a learning style that is based
on the classic classroom structure, and what that means is they prefer to sit in front of an instructor
and listen to the lecture. They like for learning to be taught in a linear format with feedback that is
clear (Levonius, 2015). It is common that this generation has decided to return to school simply for the
fact that they want to keep their minds sharp, after retirement. It is important for these adult students

The Resurrection Is The Redemption From Sin Through Christ...
According to theologian Maja Weyermann, the resurrection is the redemption from sin through Christ
and therefore the nullification of death. In his biblical epistles to the Corinthians and the Romans, the
apostle Paul considers how the acts of Jesus Christ purge humanity of the previous exploits of Adam,
bringing salvation and life to all where there was previously sin and death. The initial parallels that
Paul draws between Adam and Jesus Christ became the building blocks by which church fathers
developed their own soteriology and theories of recapitulation. The most famous of which is St.
Irenaeus of Lyons, whose writings developed an early understanding of Christian theology in the late
second century. Drawing on Paul s biblical writings, Irenaeus further developed his theory of
atonement, or recapitulation, that focuses on the idea of a do over that undoes previously committed
sin. Based on the theological assertions made by Paul and Irenaeus, recapitulation in the greater
doctrine of salvation is achieved through Christ as the second Adam, the Virgin Mary as the second
Eve, and the Church as the second Eden.
The central claims concerning recapitulation are found in the Pauline epistles of First Corinthians and
Romans in the New Testament. The first biblical discussion of Paul s doctrine of salvation is found in
1 Corinthians 15. Paul claims, For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the
dead came also through a human being. For just as in

Arts Education
Introduction
When you think about the purpose of education, there are three. We re preparing kids for jobs. We re
preparing them to be citizens. And we re teaching them to be human beings who can enjoy the deeper
forms of beauty. The third is as important as the other two, says Tom Horne, the state superintendent
of public instruction in Arizona.
Arts Education in the school system has been declining since the 1980 s. Budget cuts and standards
put in core classes like reading and math make it almost impossible to find a good arts education in
public schools. The money that was used to fund the arts programs is now being denied and being put

than core classes. When it comes to picking which one stays and which one goes in a situation like
this, they feel that they are making the obvious choice by getting rid of the arts education courses.
Other reason that Metla talks about in her article, are the heavier standards put in the core classes, In
addition to less money being spent on education because of the recession, various government

interest groups would play in the new society was in doubt. Regarding labor unions, for example,
Qadhafi stated in a November 4, 1969, speech in Tripoli: There will be no labor unions . . . . Laborers
and the revolution are an indivisible entity. There may be certain labor organizations, but only for
ordinary administrative duties. On November 30, 2012, however, Qadhafi

A Short Note On Pricing And Non Pricing Strategies
A. Explain what type of market structure is presented in the movie. Explain the types of strategies Joe
Fox and Kathleen Kelly use to compete and maintain market power. Differentiate between pricing and
non pricing strategies (use Chapter 7 in Stengel s textbook). You can expand and talk about potential
strategies in the bookselling business even if they were not explicitly addressed in the movie.
All companies need to be competitive in order to survive. Not only do they have to come up with a
competitive plan that will attract new customers but also to keep current customers. Just like the
movie You ve Got Mail with Tom Hanks (Joe Fox) and Meg Ryan as Kathleen Kelly. They each have
their own bookstore located near each other in New York.
There are four market structures and they are described in the table below:
MARKET

  • 2. It s Time to Redesign the Parking Lot Essay When the bell rings for students to go home the quiet and serene field of asphalt in front of school becomes a sinkhole and everyone is fighting to get out. Most school parking lots are accessible, safe, and orderly; the Hinckley Big Rock High School parking lot is an accident waiting to happen. With so many problems, a slight redesign of the schools main parking lot would seem practical. Anytime the idea of making any corrections or additions to the parking lot comes up in a discussion, the notion is put down due to the time the parking lot would be unusable while under renovation. How long does it take pavers to put in a residential driveway? A licensed and bonded concrete crew can lay multiple driveways ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the first hour bell rings on the first day of school the parking lot has few cars and they are packed into certain areas. Why should spots be handed out numerically? A first come first serve basis for assigning parking spots to students only causes crowding and large empty spaces. With only enough cars to fill up half a parking lot, it would make sense to spread them out evenly. Numbers for these spots should be first handed out evens first, so at least for awhile there will be an ease of entering and exiting individual parking spots with out having to watch out for every other vehicle around. Then later in the year as needed the odd numbered spots can be issued, filling up all empty spaces. When vehicles are on both sides of a spot it can be difficult to pull straight into a parking spot without having to back out and try again because of the tight aisle. If all the spots are tight together and the students have to back in there will be a large back up and there will be total tyranny. Hinckley Big Rock High School has many students that come from farming families and for the most part drive trucks. These trucks can be inches or even feet longer than the spot that is provided to them. These students need larger spots because the part of their vehicle that is sticking out into the aisle is ... An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Compare And Contrast The short story An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce is a short story about a man named Peyton Farquhar is about to be hanged. The story takes place during the Civil War and Farquhar is constantly thinking of his wife and children at home. He dreams that he is able to escape and run to safety, where he finds his wife. When he goes to hug her, he suddenly feels a strong pain around his neck. Farquhar is then hanging off the bridge with the noose still around his neck. He imagined all of this before he was hanged. • 5. The Playboy Of The Western World Critique The Playboy of the Western World Critique I was overall extremely impressed with the University of Houston s production of The Playboy of The Western World. The play and the intention of comedy were both carried out very well by the actors. I felt that I was engaged in the play, seeming like I was actually a part of the performance. The theatre department s attempt on this play was very worthwhile, providing both a good laugh and a superb form of entertainment. The predominant theme of this play was the chaotic father/son relationship. The message the play is trying to give is that children can go against their fathers, rioting against them and disobeying their orders and expectations, and how a stereotypical message of disobedience is sent. In the worst of cases, the father becomes nearly powerless, unable to act or alter the situation in anyway. I do agree with the message that sometimes children can have control over their parents, and how sometimes there is nothing that can be done about it. In the play, it was exactly like that when Christy tried to kill his father three times without ever obeying a single one of his commands and even getting in a face to face fight with him. I have also witnessed this situation in other TV shows and novels. I found that message to be extremely disturbing for me in The Playboy of the Western World. The idea of a son killing his father was a terrible idea for my brain to comprehend during the course of the play. However, I must say ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

IPv6 was designed during the mid 1990s, when the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) realised that IPv4 address size constraints would soon be a major impediment to the continued growth of the Internet. IPv6 was first known as the Next Generation Internet Protocol (IPng) during development within the IETF. Since 1998, it has officially been known as IPv6. In the transition to IPv6, both IPv6 and IPv4 will co exist until IPv6 eventually replaces IPv4. The most obvious difference between IPv6 and IPv4 is the vastly expanded IP address space available The most obvious difference between IPv6 and IPv4 is the address size. IPv6 addresses comprise 128 bits, whereas IPv4 addresses comprise 32 bits. This difference results in a huge expansion in available IP address space: ◊ I Pv4: 2 32 a ddresses equals 4.3 billion addresses (less than the global human p opulation of 4.7 billion) ◊ I Pv6: 2 128 a ddresses. Because the last 64 bits are used to allocate a ddresses within a subnet, that leaves 2 64, which equals 18 billion billion s ubnet addresses. IPv6 is not backwardly compatible with IPv4 Whilst IPv6 performs the same address function as IPv4, IPv6 is

The other major stereotype is the focus on criminal behavior, and the blaming of gangs for criminal acts (Moore). The police and the media make the public afraid of the gangs because of the drugs and the violence. The media shows the gangs in a terrible light to attract better audiences. One of these elements is that of foreign exchange rates, the rate at which one currency can be converted into another (Hill, 2014, p. 296). While a company may be located in the United States, they may engage in commerce with organizations in foreign markets that require payment in their domestic currencies. Organizations must pay careful attention to these exchange rates, as their fluctuations can significantly impact the costs of doing international business, as demonstrated in the first section. Because the exchange rate is expected to fluctuate during this period, the ¥1,000,000 will payment will cost the organization differing amounts depending on which exchange rate is used for the conversion of the domestic currency into the Japanese Yen, which will impact the organizations profit margins. There are two options for this conversion, the spot exchange rate and the forward exchange rate. The spot exchange rate is the currency conversion rate on a specific date (p. 298). This argument opens up certain views that RRP revolves around a central theme that when dealing with strategic thinking, deductive and inductive logic is commonly used. Yet again with the use of Table 1 (Appendix 1), characteristics on RRP can be recognized. With this information, we can start to identify to what extent Branson fits in with the RRP model. Arguably, RRP is seen as more of a figurative way of thinking whereby decisions are based primarily on factual information. With this understanding, Branson periodically demonstrates a RRP way of strategizing on how he performs business. The first clear example of Branson using the RRP is shown in the case study whereby he uses factual based reasoning in regards to his efforts of expanding the product line of his company to different areas in the market. Branson used analytical data stating that 96 percent of the United Kingdom recognized the Virgin logo. Branson used the Virgin logo to help diversify into other currently booming industries around the United Kingdom and other parts of the world (i.e. book publishing, computer game development, soft drink manufacturing, cinemas and even financial services). I have been very fortunate that during my childhood (I was a military brat, and lived everywhere) and even the last 16 years of my adult life (from being in the military myself, and being married to a service member) I have been to many countries around the world. I have enjoyed my time everywhere I have been, as I am one that always makes the best of the new situation. I probably would be a great expatriate for a company, since I am one that loves to indulge myself in the local culture and just learn as much as I can when I am there. I decided on Germany, as that is one country I have spent the most time in, and one of my best friends (that is born and raised there) is from there. I have always enjoyed the history and culture of that country as well. Hours Worked/Minimum Working Age When I lived in Germany I always thought it was frustrating that everything was closed on Sundays; as Sundays are my days for grocery shopping, errands and getting things ready for the following week. I had to learn to re do my routines to accommodate this; but fortunately, being in Germany as military personnel, I was able to go on post (or base) to get necessary shopping done as well since American posts/bases were run by American law. Blanket Giving In Other Cultures Once again, depending on the culture in which blankets are given, blankets become talismans and take on a spiritual dimension especially when worn in some dance ritual. Blankets can symbolize transitions in life such as weddings, graduations or new additions to a family. They can also mean legendary events, stories and the culture s heritage. As such, they express a form of craftsmanship, artistry, history and the represented culture itself. Blankets can even facilitate travel by transferring the spirits of those who gave them as companions on a distance journey. In some South African and Lesotho cultures, blankets mark rites of passage. Two of the most popular are the 1995 miniseries, and the 2005 Hollywood film. Both of these films have many similarities, as well as many differences, and they both have strong points when representing the novel and the Regency Period. However, the 1995 miniseries takes the cake when it comes to accuracy. The miniseries is much longer than the movie, and as such, it gives more time for the characters to grow and develop. The movie feels much more rushed; the pacing is too fast. The movie also gives a more modern feel about love and romance. It is far more dramatic, and overly emotional, such as the initial proposal between Darcy and Elizabeth. It took place out in the open, on a rainy day, rather than privately in a home. With Frankenstein being written in the early 19th century, the Romantic movement, being as popular as ever, was clearly evident in Shelley s writings. Shelley s mom, an active feminist, died during childbirth, leaving Mary to grow up with a radical political philosopher and novelist, William Godwin, as her father. Victor Frankenstein, the main character, has a strong desire for the pursuit of knowledge, which he eventually learns is more harmful than helpful. The creature of the story, who remains nameless, is Victor s creation who although is seen to be evil by others, actually has a pure heart. Robert Walton is the narrator of the book, telling Frankenstein s story, who also shares his dangerous desire for knowledge. If Mary Shelley s 1818 novel, Frankenstein, has survived for nearly 200 years, it may be due to the historical context of the romantic movement, the way that the story stems from the author s own personal life, and the characters who portray the idea that knowledge may be treacherous. His lovers ranged from both sexes, though he never had defined himself as bisexual (James Dean). This daringness to oppose society was one of the Dean s most famous qualities. James Dean was able to represent a society challenging and influential individual on and off the screen. Yes his talent itself left many in awe, but it was more of the impact he was able to have on people s perspectives. James s characters were easy to relate to since they all represented him quite accurately. All three of his films were a major success. These films are east of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause, and Giant. Even with his short life, he was nominated many times and won two awards. His nominations included two Golden Globe awards (which he won), two BAFTA awards, and two Academy Awards. His nominations were mostly for best actor (Awards). This was most likely because his passion for his art really showed in his films. James really was a well trained and strict actor even though his persona gave off a more casual and relaxed vibe. James wrote in a letter to his family: I have made great strides in my craft. After months of auditioning, I am ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Leadership And Hofstede s Six Dimensions Leadership and Hofstede s Six Dimensions Maneuvering through the sea of cultural differences in the workplace in today s business can be tricky. As companies become more global, and employ people from different cultures, leaders must learn to adapt to differences among these cultures if they wish to succeed. Leading the same across cultures may not have positive outcomes. In this writing, I will discuss Hofstede s six cultural dimensions and how they relate to leadership. I will then explain what combinations of these dimensions, I feel, make the most effective leader. First, let s discuss the six dimensions of leadership. Six Dimensions and Leadership Between 1967 and 1973, IBM collected data of employee value scores. (Hofstede, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Participative leadership style would be used in this case, giving followers the ability to be a part of decision making. Individualism Versus Collectivism (IDV) This dimension measures how tight or loose knit the social framework is among people. (Hofstede, 2001, para. 5). Countries that measure on the higher side of this scale have more individualism, meaning they look out for themselves and their immediate families. On the opposite end of this scale, collectivism; people look at the better good of the group keeping all interests in mind. The leadership for individualism is based more on one on one types of interactions, focusing on strengths of the individual. (Ori, n.d.). In a collectivism environment, the leader will focus on the betterment of the group, possibly utilizing a laissez faire style of leadership. Masculinity Versus Femininity (MAS) In the MAS dimension, societies that are high in masculinity focus more on achievements and are more competitive. On opposite end of this dimension, society is focused more on caring for each other, worried more about the quality of life. The leadership style for a high masculinity dimension would be procedural, being more task orientated vs relationship based. ( Sides of Leadership, 2005). The style for a low masculinity or feminine side would be more of a democratic, or even transformational, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Conclusion For Universal Health Care Premise 1: A universal health care system would reduce health care costs. Premise 2: Universal health care improves overall public health. Premise 3: Universal health care would encourage patients to practice preventive medicine. Premise 4: Healthcare would be affordable to all citizens if made universal. Conclusion: Therefore, implementing a universal health care system in our society would greatly benefit everyone. Reducing Health Costs With a universal health care system, the government would have control and run the system, therefore, the cost of healthcare would be regulated. A universal health care system would be regulated by the government, so costs overall would be reduced with a more monitored system to reduce inflated costs for tests, hospital stays and procedures. (Ireland, 2017) When you regulate medical costs, the cost of medical coverage, supplies, and prescriptions are more affordable for everyone. Improved Overall Public Health With universal healthcare being more affordable, everyone gets equal access to medical health care. This can lead to a reduction in the number of medical issues suffered by our society. According to Howard K. Koh, M.D., we can absolutely expect for overall public health to improve if we provide quality, affordable health care coverage for all Americans. (Cohen, 2009) This means people would miss less work and/or school. This also means that more people could be seen for some of the most basic ailments such as colds, ... While our environment molds some of who we are, much more comes from heredity and hormones. Genes passed on to us from our parents make up heredity, and glands throughout the body produce hormones. As generations progress, new psychological and behavioral traits are earned and learned. This paper will explain hormones and the endocrine system, glands associated with the endocrine system, behavior genetics, and evolutionary psychology. The parathyroids are located within the thyroid, secrete parathormone, and controls levels of calcium and phosphates in the body. The parathyroids are also involved with controlling excitability levels (Morris and Maisto, 2002). The pancreas is located between the stomach and small intestine, and secretes insulin and glucagon to balance blood sugar levels in the body. When the pancreas does not work properly, a person may be diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, which is more commonly known simply as Diabetes (Morris and Maisto, 2002). People with diabetes suffer from extreme thirst, fatigue, lack of or increased appetite, and a myriad of other symptoms if their condition is not controlled properly with diet, exercise, and medications (if needed) (Steadman s Concise Medical Dictionary, 2001). The gonads are the male and female reproductive organs, the testes (males) and ovaries (females). The testes and ovaries produce androgens (testosterone) and estrogens, these hormones affect aggressiveness, mood, and sexual interest and behavior. Higher levels of these hormones have been shown to promote aggressiveness in both sexes (Morris and Maisto, 2002). • 39. The Characteristics Of Generational Differences In The... Jordan Clary Professor Debra Owens Human Resource Management 27 September 2017 Generational Differences in the Classroom Most people have a learning style that mirrors how they were taught when they were younger. It should be noted that there is not a one size fits all method when it comes to learning. The key to being able to appeal to each of the different generations is to offer diversity in teaching styles in order to satisfy the different preferences. As of now, there are four generations that are in the workforce and those four generations are: The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials. This paper will examine the characteristics of these four generations, how their learning styles differ, and what to provide to each group in order for their learning experience to be most rewarding. The Silent Generation was born between the mid 1920 s to early 1940 s. The silent generation was born in the middle of the Great Depression, and saw their parents struggle with finance issues (Levonius, 2015). This generation learned to value the money that they had and tended to save more than spend. This generation was raised in the midst of the World War, therefore this generation preferred to keep their heads down and stay silent while working hard to achieve slow progress (Levonius, 2015). In the classroom, members of this generation prefer to be in the background and not the center of attention. They are a group that respects authority, does what is asked of them and does not quit the job until complete. This generation grew up in a teacher centric educational system, meaning that children should be seen and not heard. While they were in school if they spoke out of turn there was usually some sort of punishment. The silent generation has a learning style that is based on the classic classroom structure, and what that means is they prefer to sit in front of an instructor and listen to the lecture. They like for learning to be taught in a linear format with feedback that is clear (Levonius, 2015). It is common that this generation has decided to return to school simply for the fact that they want to keep their minds sharp, after retirement. It is important for these adult students to ... • 40. The Resurrection Is The Redemption From Sin Through Christ... According to theologian Maja Weyermann, the resurrection is the redemption from sin through Christ and therefore the nullification of death. In his biblical epistles to the Corinthians and the Romans, the apostle Paul considers how the acts of Jesus Christ purge humanity of the previous exploits of Adam, bringing salvation and life to all where there was previously sin and death. The initial parallels that Paul draws between Adam and Jesus Christ became the building blocks by which church fathers developed their own soteriology and theories of recapitulation. The most famous of which is St. Irenaeus of Lyons, whose writings developed an early understanding of Christian theology in the late second century. Drawing on Paul s biblical writings, Irenaeus further developed his theory of atonement, or recapitulation, that focuses on the idea of a do over that undoes previously committed sin. Based on the theological assertions made by Paul and Irenaeus, recapitulation in the greater doctrine of salvation is achieved through Christ as the second Adam, the Virgin Mary as the second Eve, and the Church as the second Eden. The central claims concerning recapitulation are found in the Pauline epistles of First Corinthians and Romans in the New Testament. The first biblical discussion of Paul s doctrine of salvation is found in 1 Corinthians 15. Paul claims, For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead came also through a human being. For just as in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Arts Education Introduction When you think about the purpose of education, there are three. We re preparing kids for jobs. We re preparing them to be citizens. And we re teaching them to be human beings who can enjoy the deeper forms of beauty. The third is as important as the other two, says Tom Horne, the state superintendent of public instruction in Arizona. Arts Education in the school system has been declining since the 1980 s. Budget cuts and standards put in core classes like reading and math make it almost impossible to find a good arts education in public schools. The money that was used to fund the arts programs is now being denied and being put towards the classes that are being required to take standardized tests. People feel that arts classes are less important than core classes. When it comes to picking which one stays and which one goes in a situation like this, they feel that they are making the obvious choice by getting rid of the arts education courses. Other reason that Metla talks about in her article, are the heavier standards put in the core classes, In addition to less money being spent on education because of the recession, various government policies, including the No Child Left Behind Act and the Common Core State Standards have placed greater emphasis on core subjects, such as math and reading. The General People s Committee had a universal secretary, but most of its sittings were most frequently chaired by Gaddafi himself. Well immediately after the revolution in Libya, the role that labor unions, professional syndicates, and other organized interest groups would play in the new society was in doubt. Regarding labor unions, for example, Qadhafi stated in a November 4, 1969, speech in Tripoli: There will be no labor unions . . . . Laborers and the revolution are an indivisible entity.
