Social Security And The Welfare System
In as early as 2012 it is estimated there will only be two workers paying taxes for every one recipient
of Social Security benefits. At that time the surpluses generated each year will cease, and Social
Security will begin to run a deficit (paying out more than it takes in). The government will then have
to begin paying back the money borrowed from the trusts, plus interest. Since no money has been
saved for this purpose, the government will be forced to increase the national debt, cut spending, or
raise taxes. Even worse, unless something is done, the entire Social Security system will use up its
government IOUs and go bankrupt by 2037 (www.socialsecurityreform.org). We ve known about the
approaching Social Security troubles for some time now. Numerous plans of reform have been
proposed by Senators Gregg, Moynihan, Kerrey, Representatives Porter, Sanford, Smith, and the
Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, State Street Bank, the CATO Institute, National Taxpayers Union
Foundation, and the Center for Strategic International Studies, and the Advisory Council of Social
Security. Due to politics, no president has touched the issue. Even though we ve known about the
problems in Social Security, no president has ever attempted reform as it isn t a current problem.
Therefore it has never been a priority for those needing votes to stay in office. Now that we are as
close as seven years to recalling the IOUs, the issue is rapidly progressing into a crisis. Even if we

Chaining applies to my learning because you must get all the necessary information to help with the

not be. I learn the way that is best for me.
Verbal association (p.79)
Is the learning of chains that are verbal; Basically, the conditions resemble those for other (motor)
chains. However, the presence of language in the human being makes this a special type because
internal links may be selected from the individual s previously learned repertoire of language. (p.79)
Verbal association does not really pertain to me because I am more a hands on person. I like to see
what I am learning instead of hearing it. I feel I learn better if I have an illustration to reference back

Multiple discrimination (p.79)
The individual learns to make different identifying responses to as many different stimuli, which may
resemble each other in physical appearance to a greater or lesser degree. Responses to a series of
similar stimuli that differ in a systematic way. (p.79)
Multiple discrimination does not really apply to me because, if I m understanding it right it would

Eveline By Joyce Essay
In Joyce s, Eveline , most of the story is situated in the mind of the main character, Eveline. Eveline is
characterized as passive, easily influenced, and indecisive. Joyce highlights Eveline s indecisiveness
as she struggles with her immediate predicament; should she leave her abusive father and disobey her
duty as a daughter, or pursue a new life with her potential husband Frank, to be free? As she
contemplates, readers are taken inside Eveline s mind to discover factors from her past and present
that contribute toward her final decision. While Joyce utilizes rich literary devices including
symbolism and dramatic irony, Eveline s final choice is based on what is repressed in her unconscious
mind her mother s last words. Eveline s mother s last word Derevuan Seraun is the deciding factor in
which why Eveline chooses stays home.
Derevuan Seraun is an old Irish Gaelic, translating to at the end of pleasure, there is pain (Tigges 120).
Significant because these are Eveline s mother s last words, it contributes as to why Eveline viewed
her mother s life as a life of commonplace sacrifices closing in final craziness (Joyce 33). Many
commenters argue that Joyce s choice of adding Derevaun Seraun into the short story did not have
purpose and was a smudging of Irish culture given the improbability that a Dublin woman of this time
and class would know Gaelic (Suglia). However, Joyce purposely added the Irish Gaelic as a form of
an allusion. Throughout Eveline,

Current new entrants into this industry are small, independently owned hotels, motels, and bed and

The quality and availability of supplier services and equipment is essential to the hotel industry. Hotel
operations are reliant upon sophisticated technology and systems like their reservation systems. The
hotels major dependence on these technology suppliers makes the supplier power quite significant.
Property owners also have a somewhat high bargaining power because hotels want to make sure that
they are located in the best place possible so that they are attractive to customers and therefore
profitable.
Other suppliers do not hold as large as power as the technology suppliers. This is because there are
many options to choose from, all of which are fairly inexpensive and easily transitional. For example,
switching between real estate agents is not going to affect a particular hotel company significantly.
Also larger hotel chains have no qualms in expanding their backward integration into the real estate
business or developing employee training facilities

Bell Curve Analysis
Good Afternoon Professor Swaney
Thank you for sharing this information. I remember the bell curve as and the pressure as I felt as a
student of being on the right side of the curve. I also remember the negative feelings and feelings of
disappointment for being on the wrong side of the curve what I thought were letting my parents down
for not succeeding in an academic subject. When I was young (Elementary and some Jr. High) I really
struggled with reading and retention. I did very well in other subjects, but it always bothered me that I
struggled in reading. My mother and father were always very supportive but I am not sure they
understood why (I grew up in a different time of education) I struggled. My mother was from a
different country, France and though educated still had language barrier issues and my father was a

The agreement was created in part to facilitate trade among the three countries. The goal of NAFTA
was to eliminate barriers to trade and investment between the U.S., Canada and Mexico. At the time
that the trade agreement was signed and ratified by each nation s legislative or parliamentary branch,
the president of Mexico was Carlos Salinas de Gortari. President Carlos Salinas is a very controversial
figure in Mexican politics even before he became President of the United States of Mexico, (as it is
officially known as). Salinas was a member to the Institutional Revolution Party (PRI) and for the first
time the PRI Party was faced by significant opposition from the right, the National Action Party
(PAN). Also, for the first time, the Federal Electoral Commission, the institution in charge of the
electoral process, installed a modern computing system to count the votes. On the day of the elections,
the system crashed. After the supposedly crash was resolved, the votes were counted up and Carlos
Salinas was declared the official President of Mexico. Ex President Salinas was also responsible for
the devaluation of the Mexican currency which lead to widespread criticism in Mexico. On January 1,
1994 the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) issued their first declaration from the state of
Chiapas in southern Mexico. The date coincides with the date that NAFTA came into force, a trade

Teaching Assistant Essay
The traditional classroom, staffed by a single teacher is rapidly disappearing in schools across the UK.
(Wilson et al, 2003, cited in Parker, 2009)
Teaching Assistants
There are many titles currently in use to describe the role of a teaching assistant, such as: classroom
assistant (Lee and Mawson, 1998), learning support assistant (Farrell et al., 2000), teaching aides (Hall
et al., 1995), para educators (French and Chopra, 1999) and auxiliary support (McGarvey et al., 1996).
In the past, teaching assistants (TAs) were appointed as and when needed in an informal manner. For
example, if a need arose to support a student with special educational needs (SEN), or if a bit of extra
cash came to the school then a teaching assistant would be employed. However, it is now widely
recognised that a teaching assistant post should be properly advertised (Watkinson, 2010). There has
been a noticeable growth of teaching assistants over the years; according to the Department for
Education (2014), there has been an increase of 4.9% between 2012 and 2013. In line with this, there
is now notably a need for job descriptions and recognition of the successful candidate as becoming a
full member of the school staff.
The changing role of a teaching assistant
The role of a teaching assistant has dramatically changed over the years and continues to do so. There
are both arguments in support of the use of teaching assistant and against. An example of this is
Blatchford et al. (2006) who reported

Slavery Was The Cause Of The Civil War Essay
I believe that dispute on slavery was the largest of the causes of the Civil War, and it led to more
disagreements between the North and South. After reading the South Carolina Declaration of
Secession, the Georgia Declaration of Secession, and the Constitution of the Confederate States;
March 11, 1861, I have determined that slavery holds the most blame for starting the Civil War. Just as
the colonists fought the Revolutionary War for their independance from Great Britain, the South
fought the Civil War to gain independence from the Union. The main reason the South wanted
independence was that they feared they would lose slavery if the remained in the Union. The majority
of the South believed that it was a right of the states to have slaves, ... Show more content on

This insulting and unconstitutional demand was met with great moderation and firmness by the South.
We had shed our blood and paid our money for its acquisition; we demanded a division of it on the
line of the Missouri restriction or an equal participation in the whole of it. These propositions were
refused, the agitation became general, and the public danger was great. The case of the South was
impregnable. The price of the acquisition was the blood and treasure of both sections of all, and,
therefore, it belonged to all upon the principles of equity and justice. In this passage, and the entire
document, Georgia specifically states that the assertions for the exclusion of slavery was causing great
agitation. Since they paid for the slaves with blood and treasure , it is their right to keep slaves. The
last sentences indicates that the removal of slavery is unjust. The northern states were continually
attempting to remove slavery against the southern states will, ultimately leading to a civil

Propaganda And Manipulation – Hardcore Investments
Propaganda Manipulation HardcoreInvestments
Today the term propaganda carries an unfortunate implication that suggests dishonest and calculating
tactics, however that was not the original meaning intended for the term.
The word propaganda was derived from the Latin title of a committee of Roman Catholic cardinals,
the Congregatio de Propaganda Fide (Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith).
This committee was called propaganda for short, and was established by Pope Gregory XV in 1622 to
administer and provide overall leadership to Christian missionaries for the purpose of proselytism.
Gradually, propaganda has come to mean any effort to spread a doctrine or ideology.

Infiniti s Athletic Midsize Sedan
Infiniti s athletic midsize sedan can now be had in an extended wheelbase version. The elongated

The luxury market is an intensely competitive one with BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Lexus seated

Lexus augments its standard models with hybrids.
Further down the luxury sales line Audi, Acura and Cadillac do battle, followed by Infiniti sitting in a
distant seventh place.

passengers. Not quite matching limousine proportions, but very close indeed and you can cross your

Mercedes Benz S Class, the Q70L offers a reasonable alternative.
That alternative is marked by a handsome visage with a bold grille, a muscular hood, and strong
shoulders. From its sides, the Q70L offers a stately appearance with its long flowing lines, rising belt
line, and rocker panel ornamentation. Handsome dual quad aluminum alloy wheels and chrome
accents provide this model with added expressiveness.

Character Analysis Of Brutus
Cassius states, Caesar doth bear me hard; but he loves Brutus. Cassius sees that Brutus can be
manipulated both in spite of and because of his nobility. Cassius flatters Brutus and appeals to his
perception of equality. He justifies murdering his closest friend, Ceaser, harming both himself and the
people of Rome. He is proud of his reputation for honor and nobleness, but he sometimes is not the
most practical man, and is often naive. He is the only major character in the play dedicated to make
his behavior fit a strict moral and ethical code. Shakespeare uses the assassination of Caesar to
develop ways to show the complexity of Brutus and his character throughout the play. He cannot
justify, to his own satisfaction, the murder of a man who is a friend and who has not misused the
powers of his office. Consequently, thinking of the assassination in terms of a ritual instead of a
murder makes it more acceptable to him. Unfortunately for Brutus, he misunderstands the citizens of
Rome. In William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, Brutus is naive, because he exhibits characteristics
flaws such as foolishness, idealism, and self righteousness, which eventually lead to his killing of
Caesar and himself.
Brutus s naive personality leads him to be easily manipulated by others. Cassius tells the other
conspirators his plan in the killing of Caesar. The other conspirators believe that it would be a smart
idea to do it the following day, due to Caesar receiving his crown. The conspirators decide that it
would only work to involve Brutus in on the plan too. The conspirators agree they will only get Brutus
on their side if they write fake letters to Brutus saying they are from the people of Rome. Later that
night Brutus finds the letters and reads them. After reading the letters, Brutus States, ... Speak, strike,
redness. I am entreated / o speak and strike? O Rome, I make thee promise / If the redness will follow,
thou receivest / Thy full petition at the hand of Brutus (II.i.55 58). After reading the letters, he feels he
needs to join the conspirators. So Brutus agrees to the plan and tells the conspirators what he plans to
do. Cassius knew that the conspirators could not assassinate Caesar without Brutus support. Brutus

Yemen s Humanitarian Crisis
What many individuals do not know is that Yemen is one of the worst humanitarian crises occurring
today. Yemen is located in the Middle East, north of the horn of Africa and south of Saudi Arabia.
Before the current conflict began, Yemen was already the poorest country in the Middle East, with half
of their population at or below the poverty line. Since 2004, a war between the Republic of Yemen
Government (RoYG) and the Houthi rebels began, which increased the humanitarian crises in Yemen
(Whitaker, 2011). This affects the citizens of Yemen as the unlawful airstrikes from Saudi Arabia are

Cost and Reasonable Rental Value
I. Purposes of the Brief
This brief amicus curiae does not address the merits of the predatory pricing allegation against
BuyGasCo Corporation ( BuyGasCo ). It speaks only to the nature of the cost accounting system that
we, as students of accounting, think to be appropriate for addressing the issues presented by cases of
this general type.
We offer our views on this subject out of concern about the allocation of indirect costs used in
assessing the appropriate gasoline cost value in State of Florida v. BuyGasCo Corporation, 2003
05143 (D. FL. 2003). We regard the allocation system employed in that opinion to be inconsistent
with systems in common practice. Use of that system has a potential adverse effect on both the motor
fuel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This system is often imprecise as it distributes costs on the basis of a single variable when there are
typically several factors involved, particularly when there are multiple end products sold.
To address this imprecision, we offer a refined costing system which reduces the use of generalized
averages in the allocation of costs. In general, this is accomplished by first dividing the indirect costs
into homogeneous pools so that we can more appropriately distribute them. Second, these cost pools
are allocated on the basis of the driver of that cost segment which ensures that costs are more
accurately tied to their source. Thus, a refined costing system is preferable as it ultimately delivers a
more correct cause and effect relationship between costs and their sources.
Although this system is preferable, it has some disadvantages. First, refined costing systems require
more information about the nature of the costs involved, and often gathering this information results in
additional costs for the firm. Second, even with a broad range of data available, some averaging and
estimations are still necessary. So, without outside motivation, such as the MFMPA, small firms retain
simple costing systems.

Our Cell Phones Ourselves Analysis
The 21st Century is unlike any other century. Our lives tend to depend on technology. Technology
makes our lives easier while it can also be a hazard to us. Technology causes us to be less social. Both
articles Our Cell Phones, ourselves , by Christine Rosen and Taking the Offensive Against Cell
Phones , by Lisa Guernsey are centered on the relationship between humans and technology. However,
Rosen s article uses anecdotes and broad scope to demonstrate the negative and positive impacts that
technology has on individuals. While Guernsey s article uses anecdotes and a narrow scope to focus
on ways that we can reduce the use of technology.
Today, we can t even walk one block without spotting a type of technology. The writer Rosen uses a
personal anecdote to explain how technology can be useful in an emergency. In the essay, Rosen states
One man pulled out his cell phone, called his wife back in the United States, and had her send an e

have some credit transaction, double entry may be required. Then at the end of an accounting period,
the Excel users (owners) may provide the spread sheet to accountants or someone who have
accounting background to prepare BAS for the ATO or other financial reports for stakeholders.
Unlikely, MYOB or Mind Your Own Business is a specialist accounting software that designed for
small business and is probably the best known accounting software in Australia and New Zealand.
With MYOB the users only need to input the transaction information and the system will
automatically prepare the BAS, financial report and also bank reconciliation. Moreover, MYOB is a
more complex accounting computer system compare to Excel, since it provides different functions that
help the owner to manage their business; such as payroll, inventory,

Importance Of Communication Between Parents And Parents
The significance of communication between educators and parents has been studied and stressed for
many years because of its impact on academic achievement and success of students. Parental
involvement can have a remarkable effect on the academic achievement of students.
Epstein (2008) found that when parents are involved with their child s education that more students
earn higher grades in English and math, improve their reading and writing skills, complete more
course credits, set higher aspirations, have better attendance, come to class more prepared to learn, and
have fewer behavior problems... (pg. 10). A huge problem is that many parents face today are work
schedule with two parents working families or single parent family not being able to connect with the
school not being able to find the time due to work schedules.
Often times the only when a behavior or an academic crisis happen teachers reach out to parents.
Likewise when a parent experience a problem academically or socially with their child will a parents
reach out to talk to a teacher. Technology is making communication much easier between parents and
teachers.
The most common of the communication between teachers and parents is based off of grades,
attendance and behaviorally. Four times a year teachers are in communication with parents due to
grades and sometimes in between the grade periods if a child is struggling. Some school districts use
printed report copies and send them home with students

Analyse the effects of domestic and global free trade and protection policies on the Australian
economy
Free trade is the unrestricted purchase and sale of goods and services between countries without the
imposition of protection such as tariffs and quotas. This enables economies to focus on their core
competitive advantage(s), thereby maximizing economic output and fostering income growth for their
citizens. Australian exports rose from $66.6 billion in 1990 91 to $300.4 billion in 2012 13, with an
average growth in export volumes of 4.6 per cent per annum since 1990 91. This is reflective of
Australia s proactive actions to phase out protection since the 1970s. The major effects of domestic
and global free trade and protection policies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, there has been poor progress in reducing agricultural protection in recent years. In fact,
if global trade liberalisation was achieved by the WTO s Doha Round, it could have boosted Australia
s agricultural exports by US$9 billion by 2020; thus displaying how highly protectionist economies
and trade blocs adversely affect the Australian economy.
Since Australia s first free trade agreement (FTA) with New Zealand in 1983, Bilateral and
Multilateral FTA s have been a great advantage and focus in securing economic prosperity for
Australia. Australia s two way trade in goods and services was A$616 bn in 2012. Australia has seven
FTAs currently in force with New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, US, Chile, ASEAN (with New
Zealand) and Malaysia. Together, these countries account for 28% of Australia s total trade, which
displays the great benefit of bilateral FTAs to the Australian economy. Additionally, there are four
bilateral FTA negotiations currently in place, two of which are substantial trading partners; China,
being Australia s largest export market (A$78.7 bn) and Japan, being Australia s second largest export
market (A$49.8 bn). The Japanese Free Trade Agreement has been negotiated, and will be a great
benefit to the Australian economy, especially the agricultural sector, for example tariffs on beef

Analysis Of Guiding Mirrors In Jane Eyre
Guiding Mirrors In the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Bertha serves as a primary obstacle in the
novel, as her marriage to Rochester is a hindrance to Jane s emotional fulfillment and happiness.
Bertha is depicted as a violent and insane woman who is kept hidden in an attic throughout the novel.
Bertha s rage eventually leads her to burn Thornfield, in which Rochester loses an eye and severely
injures himself. Despite the portrayal of Bertha as an inherently monstrous figure, it almost seems as
though oppression by a male dominated society has fueled the destructive rage she comes to embody
in the novel. This rage in Bertha is a manifestation of Jane s passion and independent nature, which
seems to serve as a guiding force for Jane on her journey towards autonomy. Through the ominous
characterization of Bertha coupled with the positive impact her actions have on Jane, Brontë explores
gender inequality in an Victorian era and seems to suggest that passionate and independent women in
male dominated environments are deprived of their femininity and may even be dehumanized. Bertha
s presence acts as an obstacle for Rochester and Jane s marriage, and therefore a hindrance to Jane s
quest for emotional fulfillment. Brontë achieves an obstructive characterization of Bertha by using
animal imagery to describe her throughout the novel. In fact, one of the very first descriptions of
Bertha reveals she has a savage face with lips swelled and dark and bloodshot eyes who

for the increase in population for the predator species.
c) The population dynamics of species A lags behind species B because the predator s food needs to be
abundant in order for its population to increase. As the prey population increases, it creates the food
resource necessary for an increase in the predator population. As the predator population increases,
more prey are killed and less food becomes available, resulting in a decreased predator population.

The Nervous System and Sexual Function Essay
The nervous system is divided into three components: the central nervous system, which encompasses
the brain, brain stem, and the spinal cord, the peripheral nervous system, which includes the sensory
receptors and effector muscles and organs in the body, and the autonomic nervous system which is
part of both the peripheral and central nervous system and controls visceral and largely unconscious
functions (Barker Barasi, 2005). The sexual response activates all these systems.

(a) The autonomic nervous system controls the smooth muscles and secretions in all the male
reproductive organs (Dail, 1993). This includes the parasympathetic and sympathetic systems

Several hypothalamic areas have been shown to modulate erections in rats, including medial preoptic
(MPOA) regions (MacLean, 1996), while Barker and Barasi (2005) s findings suggest the
ventromedial area is the main control centre for the sympathetic nervous system and the lateral
hypothalamic area being the main centre for parasympathetic activation. Steer (2000) reviews lesion,
electrostimulation, and tracing data and identifies two pathways from the hypothalamus to sacral
autonomic centres. The first goes from the dorsomedial hypothalamus through dorsal and central grey
matter, travels to the locus coeruleus, and then projects to the mesencephalic reticular formation,
where descending efferent input is sent through the dorsal columns of the spine down to the
thoracolumbar and sacral autonomic nuclei. The other pathway arises from the dorsomedial and
ventromedial hypothalamus, travels through the ventral and central tegmental regions, the pontine
reticular formation, and the substantia nigra, and finally through the ventrolateral area of the pons and
medula and into the dorsolateral funiculus in the spinal cord. The hypothalamus also has direct
projections from the paraventricular nucleus to the autonomic areas in the spine involved in erection
(Saper et al., 1976) as well the sacral ventral horn, a penile somatic motor nucleus. Ascending genital
sensory input also plays an important role in central

Notes On Forex Trading Software
Forex trading software has a noble aim: to completely automate the forex trading process. It can either
produce trading signals and you make the actual trade, or the more sophisticated programs can be set
to make the trade as well. When you are trading on the stock market, you would typically choose one
or more companies and start watching their shares. You will study their financial statements. You will
listen to what other traders say about their stock value whether it s undervalued or overvalued. But
whatever you do, it is unlikely that you will ever get access to the information that can really make or
break a particular company. Things like technological changes that will make their products totally
obsolete. The forex market is somewhat different in this regard. At least theoretically it s a level
playing field. All traders have equal access to market information. What s left for the traders then is to
analyze that information, come to a trading decision and start making money. So try to comprehend
the development that took place through years. Every moment forex market constructs a new history
and hence you have to know what the recent news is and how it is influencing the price movements.
Also you should be familiar with the parties those are working on the trading like the forex brokers or
the companies selling trading signals or other relevant services. If you can comprehend these simple
requirements then understanding the functioning of automated currency

The Generation Of The United States
The Generation
1) Ellis sees the founding of the United States as phenomenal because the U.S. brought together
people of all different factions and beliefs in order to overthrow the reigning regime. He also believes
it is phenomenal because the United States was able to survive and become a nation that was brought
up upon an argument between state and federal sovereignty. In addition, to fight in the revolution and
win against Britain s best army and navy, the U.S. had to carve its own path with unprecedented steps.
Dues to the challenges the republic faced and overcame, the founding of the United States is truly
phenomenal in Ellis s eyes.

Those who saw nearsighted felt that America had no sense of national unity, and nothing to bring them
together except for the common wish to separate from Britain.
4) Combining the opposite perspectives that Ellis writes about on the founding of our country, the
central paradox of the revolutionary era is created. This paradox is that despite the massive advantages
America had provided by geographic isolation and bountiful natural resources, the points used to
justify the separation from England are the same reasons that overwhelmed the government leaders
who would oversee the new population and unify the 13 sovereign states.
5) Critics of the Constitutional Convention highlight many of the same faults in the convention. One
of these criticisms is that the convention was only to revise the Articles of Confederation not to
replace them. In addition, the meetings of the Convention were held in secrecy and the matters
discussed stayed private from majority of the average citizens. The reason behind this was because the
fifty five delegates were a group of elites that were hardly a good representation of the population as a
whole. Another criticism was that the southern delegates abused these meetings by using them to
obtain assurances that slavery would not be abolished in the south.
6) The first major liability of the United States was that no one had ever established a

Triple Alliance And Triple Entente During World War I
In the beginning of the 20th century, many changes where to take place that would ultimately
determine the alliances commonly known as the Triple Alliance and Triple Entente during World War
I. In 1904, the Russo Japanese War began. This war ended with a defeat for Russia, which was
humiliating, but did encourage the Russian Empire to focus on the Balkans, an area that would play
more dominate roles in World War I ( 10 Events that Led to War One 1). Their newfound interest in
this area forced them to reassert themselves later, during the Bosnia Annexation Crisis (Trueman 1).
Over the years, Germany began to grow as an empire and an extremely militaristic power (Tonge 1).

war on France and Britain, who declared war on their enemy, Germany. This created the two sides of
World War I, The Allies: Braitain, France and Russia, and the Central Powers: Austria Hungary and
Germany . In 1915, Italy joined the Allies, Bulgaria joined the Central Powers, and in 1916 Romania

Augustus Caesar and Emperor Nero Comparision
I believe that being a beloved leader has a huge effect on being a better ruler. In 44 B.C. Julius Caesar
was assassinated by his senate chamber. Soon his nephew and adopted son, Gaius Octavian, would
join forces with Mark Anthony and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus into a three way dictatorship. This
transformed Rome from being a Monarchy into being a dictatorship. Lepidus left Rome soon after
Octavian began reign and went on to lead parts of Africa and Hispania. In 37 B.C. Mary Anthony met
Cleopatra. They fell in love and Mark followed her back to Egypt. Octavian took reign over Rome and
obtained the name Augustus Caesar. Mark Anthony and Augustus became enemies and war broke out
between Rome and Egypt. This is one reason for why I believe that ... Show more content on

Women gave birth during his shows and some people faked being dead just to be dragged out of it.
Some people even went as far as jumping off the ledge of the theater to their death. These plays would
go on for several days without any breaks. He attempted to set fire to Rome just so he could rebuild
the city. In my opinion, the action that Nero is most known for is for persecuting of Jews. Nero would
crucify Jews for spreading Christianity throughout Rome. Nero was the persecutor of the apostles Paul
and Peter. Nero was a violent leader and a leader who was definitely, not beloved. In conclusion, being
a leader that is beloved has a huge effect on being a better leader. For example, Augustus Caesar was
so favored that his name was passed on through all the emperors all the way up to 476A.D. The roman
citizen would hold festivals just in honor of Augustus. They loved Augustus which made Rome a
happier place all in all. In the other hand Nero made Rome become a dark and violent empire. I
believe that good rulers always work their hardest to please their people and have positive influences
on them. People want a leader who incurages them and is always striving to help the empire grow

Analysis Of The Poem The Lord Of His Love Essay
Christopher Marlowe s poem The Passionate Shepherd to His Love is widely understood to be a
combination of pastoral and carpe diem poetry that invites its subject, with the incentives of gifts and
paradise, to join its speaker in a natural utopia it embodies the trend of poetry and invention through
pastoral imagination. In comparison, Walter Ralegh s The Nymphs Reply to the Shepherd is on the
side of reason and philosophy, widely recognized as a refuting reply that uses Marlowe s own
structure against him to reject the Shepherd s invitation. The question then becomes, if Ralegh s
response is rooted in logic and meant to discredit Marlowe s work, why is it crucial that it be written
in the exact same form? Ralegh s choice to directly mirror Marlowe s poetry allows for
reinterpretation and subtle tweaking of the piece, so as to respond to it in the most critical way. The
Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd mirrors, repeats, and slightly alters aspects of the original work to use
Marlowe s own words and structure to critique both its content and essence as a poem. Every instance
of similarity and every subtle change made to Marlowe s poem is precise and purposeful,
demonstrating the power of language and the critical ability of poetic reinterpretation. At first glance,
the form is identifiably the same, possibly leading the reader to believe the two poems are doing the
same amount of poetic work this is not the case. The initial stanzas function differently, setting the

Undocumented Immigrants
In the past few years a dispute has risen in the middle of the controversy about illegal immigration and
border security. Are the children of illegal immigrants U.S. citizens? This a question that has provoked
intense arguments and various attempts to change the birth right law established in the Fourteen
Amendment. Many conservative people believe the sons and daughters of undocumented immigrants
shouldn t be granted American citizenship. They interpret the 14th amendment to exclude anyone
whose parents are not legal residents of this country. There has even been attempts to change the
Constitution and the Fourteen Amendment more exclusive. Doing so would leave many people

Not only from trying to figure out who is a citizen and who is not but once millions lose the right to
every part of being an American the economy would suffer. There s millions of adults with illegal
parents, many of them also have a college education and a job that contributes to the U.S. economy. If
their citizenship is revoked they would be deported along with their parents to the parents homelands,
Mexico for example who according to the Pew Hispanic Center attributes about 59% of all immigrants
in the U.S. In that case with so many people being sent there, Mexico would experience a great
economic growth. Economic growth that would be caused by an increase in numbers in the work force
and the experience and knowledge many people who used to work in the U.S. would have. According
to Granting Illegal Immigrants a Path to Citizenship Would Boost US and State Economies by Robert
Lynch if illegal immigrants were legalized they would attribute billions of dollar to the economy. In a
time frame of ten years the GDP [a measure of total economic output], of the United States would be

economy doubled in number by taking away U.S. citizenship from native born people and instead of

Athletic Director
Overview
An athletic director (commonly athletics director or AD ) is an administrator at many american
colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, who oversees the work
of coaches and related staff involved in intercollegiate or interscholastic athletic programs
(ehow.com). They are in charge of an athletic department at a high school, college or university and at
some colleges, the athletic director may hold academic rank. They are usually considered to be full
time administrators instead of, full time faculty members.

At the major college level, some of these responsibilities may be delegated but the athletic director
will still oversee these areas. Athletic directors work with coaches to determine scheduling of games
and practices. Athletic directors also work with conferences and leagues on scheduling and other
issues, like post season play.
Within a program, decisions may have to be made on how to allocate time for a field, court, or weight
room. The athletic director often provides guidance for coaches. At the major college level, the hiring
of coaches is a key responsibility for athletic directors that can be subject to public scrutiny
(careerpaths.com). Athletic directors work with coaches and perhaps a travel coordinator to plan trips.
They also coordinate officials and umpires at games and budget for their pay. Typically athletic
directors file reports on the status of each team and its successes and shortcomings. They may mediate
any disputes between athletes and coaches or between coaches.
Athletic Director Job Description
Athletic directors at the high school level work with other school administrators to assure student
athletes are academically eligible for a given sport. Athletic directors carry out this responsibility at
the college level as well. At the college level, they also typically work with a compliance officer to

  • 2. Social Security And The Welfare System In as early as 2012 it is estimated there will only be two workers paying taxes for every one recipient of Social Security benefits. At that time the surpluses generated each year will cease, and Social Security will begin to run a deficit (paying out more than it takes in). The government will then have to begin paying back the money borrowed from the trusts, plus interest. Since no money has been saved for this purpose, the government will be forced to increase the national debt, cut spending, or raise taxes. Even worse, unless something is done, the entire Social Security system will use up its government IOUs and go bankrupt by 2037 (www.socialsecurityreform.org). We ve known about the approaching Social Security troubles for some time now. Numerous plans of reform have been proposed by Senators Gregg, Moynihan, Kerrey, Representatives Porter, Sanford, Smith, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, State Street Bank, the CATO Institute, National Taxpayers Union Foundation, and the Center for Strategic International Studies, and the Advisory Council of Social Security. Due to politics, no president has touched the issue. Even though we ve known about the problems in Social Security, no president has ever attempted reform as it isn t a current problem. Therefore it has never been a priority for those needing votes to stay in office. Now that we are as close as seven years to recalling the IOUs, the issue is rapidly progressing into a crisis. • 4. Eveline By Joyce Essay In Joyce s, Eveline , most of the story is situated in the mind of the main character, Eveline. Eveline is characterized as passive, easily influenced, and indecisive. Joyce highlights Eveline s indecisiveness as she struggles with her immediate predicament; should she leave her abusive father and disobey her duty as a daughter, or pursue a new life with her potential husband Frank, to be free? As she contemplates, readers are taken inside Eveline s mind to discover factors from her past and present that contribute toward her final decision. While Joyce utilizes rich literary devices including symbolism and dramatic irony, Eveline s final choice is based on what is repressed in her unconscious mind her mother s last words. Eveline s mother s last word Derevuan Seraun is the deciding factor in which why Eveline chooses stays home. Derevuan Seraun is an old Irish Gaelic, translating to at the end of pleasure, there is pain (Tigges 120). Significant because these are Eveline s mother s last words, it contributes as to why Eveline viewed her mother s life as a life of commonplace sacrifices closing in final craziness (Joyce 33). Many commenters argue that Joyce s choice of adding Derevaun Seraun into the short story did not have purpose and was a smudging of Irish culture given the improbability that a Dublin woman of this time and class would know Gaelic (Suglia). However, Joyce purposely added the Irish Gaelic as a form of an allusion. Throughout Eveline, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hotel operations are reliant upon sophisticated technology and systems like their reservation systems. The hotels major dependence on these technology suppliers makes the supplier power quite significant. Property owners also have a somewhat high bargaining power because hotels want to make sure that they are located in the best place possible so that they are attractive to customers and therefore profitable. Other suppliers do not hold as large as power as the technology suppliers. This is because there are many options to choose from, all of which are fairly inexpensive and easily transitional. • 8. Teaching Assistant Essay The traditional classroom, staffed by a single teacher is rapidly disappearing in schools across the UK. (Wilson et al, 2003, cited in Parker, 2009) Teaching Assistants There are many titles currently in use to describe the role of a teaching assistant, such as: classroom assistant (Lee and Mawson, 1998), learning support assistant (Farrell et al., 2000), teaching aides (Hall et al., 1995), para educators (French and Chopra, 1999) and auxiliary support (McGarvey et al., 1996). In the past, teaching assistants (TAs) were appointed as and when needed in an informal manner. For example, if a need arose to support a student with special educational needs (SEN), or if a bit of extra cash came to the school then a teaching assistant would be employed. However, it is now widely recognised that a teaching assistant post should be properly advertised (Watkinson, 2010). There has been a noticeable growth of teaching assistants over the years; according to the Department for Education (2014), there has been an increase of 4.9% between 2012 and 2013. In line with this, there is now notably a need for job descriptions and recognition of the successful candidate as becoming a full member of the school staff. The changing role of a teaching assistant The role of a teaching assistant has dramatically changed over the years and continues to do so. After reading the South Carolina Declaration of Secession, the Georgia Declaration of Secession, and the Constitution of the Confederate States; March 11, 1861, I have determined that slavery holds the most blame for starting the Civil War. Just as the colonists fought the Revolutionary War for their independance from Great Britain, the South fought the Civil War to gain independence from the Union. The main reason the South wanted independence was that they feared they would lose slavery if the remained in the Union. The price of the acquisition was the blood and treasure of both sections of all, and, therefore, it belonged to all upon the principles of equity and justice. In this passage, and the entire document, Georgia specifically states that the assertions for the exclusion of slavery was causing great agitation. • 15. Character Analysis Of Brutus Cassius states, Caesar doth bear me hard; but he loves Brutus. Cassius sees that Brutus can be manipulated both in spite of and because of his nobility. Cassius flatters Brutus and appeals to his perception of equality. He justifies murdering his closest friend, Ceaser, harming both himself and the people of Rome. He is proud of his reputation for honor and nobleness, but he sometimes is not the most practical man, and is often naive. He is the only major character in the play dedicated to make his behavior fit a strict moral and ethical code. Shakespeare uses the assassination of Caesar to develop ways to show the complexity of Brutus and his character throughout the play. He cannot justify, to his own satisfaction, the murder of a man who is a friend and who has not misused the powers of his office. Consequently, thinking of the assassination in terms of a ritual instead of a murder makes it more acceptable to him. Unfortunately for Brutus, he misunderstands the citizens of Rome. In William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, Brutus is naive, because he exhibits characteristics flaws such as foolishness, idealism, and self righteousness, which eventually lead to his killing of Caesar and himself. Brutus s naive personality leads him to be easily manipulated by others. Cassius tells the other conspirators his plan in the killing of Caesar. The other conspirators believe that it would be a smart idea to do it the following day, due to Caesar receiving his crown. The conspirators decide that it would only work to involve Brutus in on the plan too. The conspirators agree they will only get Brutus on their side if they write fake letters to Brutus saying they are from the people of Rome. Later that night Brutus finds the letters and reads them. After reading the letters, Brutus States, ... Speak, strike, redness. I am entreated / o speak and strike? O Rome, I make thee promise / If the redness will follow, thou receivest / Thy full petition at the hand of Brutus (II.i.55 58). After reading the letters, he feels he needs to join the conspirators. BuyGasCo Corporation, 2003 05143 (D. FL. 2003). We regard the allocation system employed in that opinion to be inconsistent with systems in common practice. This system is often imprecise as it distributes costs on the basis of a single variable when there are typically several factors involved, particularly when there are multiple end products sold. To address this imprecision, we offer a refined costing system which reduces the use of generalized averages in the allocation of costs. In general, this is accomplished by first dividing the indirect costs into homogeneous pools so that we can more appropriately distribute them. Second, these cost pools are allocated on the basis of the driver of that cost segment which ensures that costs are more accurately tied to their source. Thus, a refined costing system is preferable as it ultimately delivers a more correct cause and effect relationship between costs and their sources. Although this system is preferable, it has some disadvantages. First, refined costing systems require more information about the nature of the costs involved, and often gathering this information results in additional costs for the firm. Second, even with a broad range of data available, some averaging and estimations are still necessary. So, without outside motivation, such as the MFMPA, small firms retain simple costing systems. • 21. Importance Of Communication Between Parents And Parents The significance of communication between educators and parents has been studied and stressed for many years because of its impact on academic achievement and success of students. Parental involvement can have a remarkable effect on the academic achievement of students. Epstein (2008) found that when parents are involved with their child s education that more students earn higher grades in English and math, improve their reading and writing skills, complete more course credits, set higher aspirations, have better attendance, come to class more prepared to learn, and have fewer behavior problems... A huge problem is that many parents face today are work schedule with two parents working families or single parent family not being able to connect with the school not being able to find the time due to work schedules. Often times the only when a behavior or an academic crisis happen teachers reach out to parents. Likewise when a parent experience a problem academically or socially with their child will a parents reach out to talk to a teacher. Technology is making communication much easier between parents and teachers. The most common of the communication between teachers and parents is based off of grades, attendance and behaviorally. • 23. Analysis Of Guiding Mirrors In Jane Eyre Guiding Mirrors In the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Bertha serves as a primary obstacle in the novel, as her marriage to Rochester is a hindrance to Jane s emotional fulfillment and happiness. Bertha is depicted as a violent and insane woman who is kept hidden in an attic throughout the novel. Bertha s rage eventually leads her to burn Thornfield, in which Rochester loses an eye and severely injures himself. Despite the portrayal of Bertha as an inherently monstrous figure, it almost seems as though oppression by a male dominated society has fueled the destructive rage she comes to embody in the novel. This rage in Bertha is a manifestation of Jane s passion and independent nature, which seems to serve as a guiding force for Jane on her journey towards autonomy. Through the ominous characterization of Bertha coupled with the positive impact her actions have on Jane, Brontë explores gender inequality in an Victorian era and seems to suggest that passionate and independent women in male dominated environments are deprived of their femininity and may even be dehumanized. Bertha s presence acts as an obstacle for Rochester and Jane s marriage, and therefore a hindrance to Jane s quest for emotional fulfillment. Brontë achieves an obstructive characterization of Bertha by using animal imagery to describe her throughout the novel. Steer (2000) reviews lesion, electrostimulation, and tracing data and identifies two pathways from the hypothalamus to sacral autonomic centres. In comparison, Walter Ralegh s The Nymphs Reply to the Shepherd is on the side of reason and philosophy, widely recognized as a refuting reply that uses Marlowe s own structure against him to reject the Shepherd s invitation.
