Managed Care Through The Delivery Of Health Care
Managed care integrates the delivery of health care and financing of health care. In managed care,
insurance companies controls the cost, quality, and access of medical care to beneficiaries by limiting
the reimbursement levels paid to providers,, by reducing utilization, or both (Beik, 2014, p. 116).
There are different types of managed care. Some of the most common types of managed care are
Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) and Health Maintenance Organizations. Managed care
programs uses different interventions such as economic incentives for doctors and patients, increased
cost sharing, controls on inpatient admission and length of stays, and so forth (Deom, Agoritsas,
Bovier, Perneger, 2010, p. 1). On the other hand, managed care tools such as gate keeping, health care
networks, second opinion requirement, and pre approval requirement for expensive treatments or
hospitalization has changed healthcare delivery on both the macro and micro levels. On the micro
level, it greatly impacts the quality of care, cost, autonomy, and relations with patients. According to
the research study, managed care greatly affects physicians. It reduces career satisfaction through its
impact on doctors autonomy and the pressure caused by managed care may affect the doctor s ability
to provide high quality of medical care. (Deom, Agoritsas, Bovier, Perneger, 2010, p. 7). Like for
example, managed care contracting has a positive and negative impact on physicians and patients. The

Effects Of Depression On Young Females And Increase The...
Depression decreases a person s overall quality of life. The National Institute of Mental Health
(NIMH) a government agency, affirms that depression is the most common form of mood disorder in
the United States (NIHM, 2015). Depression involves a combination of genetic, biological,
environmental, and psychological factors (NIMH, 2015). It affects work, family life and relationships.
Although depression usually affects adults, children and adolescents experience depression and are
most likely affected into adulthood. (Guttmann Sameroff, 2004). This paper will evaluate how
conflicts between mother and daughter relationships directly affects depressive symptoms in
adolescent girls. Finally, this paper examines the preventive and intervention strategies to help control
depression in young females and increase the relationship between mother and daughter during
adolescence years. Recent studies have shown that females are at a greater risk to experience
depression than males (Daley Rao, 2000, Morris, McGrath, Goldman Rottenberg, 2014). Adolescence
is a time in young girl s lives that they are faced with transitions. A time when adolescence begins at
13 years old (Morris, McGrath, Goldman, Rottenberg, 2014) and young girls are faced with increases
in social and academic demands (Daley Rao, 2000). According to Gutman and Sameroff (2004), this
is a time in an adolescent girl s life that stressors can predict more serious problems (Gutman
Sameroff, 2004).

Mammography Research Papers
One in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer over the course of an entire
lifetime. Statistics show that individual risks may double if a first degree relative has been diagnosed
with breast cancer (Breast Cancer Risk and Risk Factors, 2016). My risks are doubled as my maternal
grandmother had breast cancer. My passion for radiology coupled with my personal risk of breast
cancer has influenced my desire to pursue a career in mammography. Mammography is a non invasive
radiographic modality performed to image tissues of the breast to detect abnormalities of the breast
tissue and provide a diagnosis. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in woman. The best
defense against breast cancer is early detection with regular mammograms (Bontrager, 2014, 248).
Mammography uses a low dose of ionizing radiation to image and detect breast tissue abnormalities,
and is most often used in conjunction with ultrasound, nuclear medicine, MRI and PET scans.
Mammograms use a low kV and high mAs, therefore radiation dose is substantial to patients tissues.

Honey Bees Persuasive Speech Research Paper
Have you ever thought about a world with little to no food? In a world without bees, this could be a
possibility. Today, I ll be talking about the decline in the bee population and how it will affect every
single one of us if it continues. I ve always been interested in bees. After joining my school s Future
Farmers of America group, I started working on entomology, which is the study of bugs. When my
group went to the state competition for entomology, I became even more interested in bees and the
cause of the decline in their populations. This speech should inform you of the decline in the bee
population and how it will affect all of our lives. All over the world bees have slowly begun to die out.

you ve learned. By telling others about what s happening to the bees, more people are informed about
the subject. The more people that are informed about the subject, the more people care about the
subject. This could potentially cause a change in society to help us all become more bee

Sorcery And Magic In Ancient Civilizations
Discuss the existence and practise of sorcery and magic within three civilisations
(ancient Egypt, ancient Greece and ancient India)
Magic and sorcery have implemented a major influence on humans throughout time. Its power is to
induce the supernatural which intertwine with individual s everyday events. Due to the belief in the
supernatural forces, the existence and practise of sorcery and magic was prevalent within many
ancient societies. It was eminently common within three major civilisations; ancient Egypt, ancient
Greece and ancient India. Although these civilisations are geographically dispersed, they each share
common principles and similarities, such as whether everyone within the civilisation accepted and
agreed with the practise. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ancient Egyptians carried amulets, and never left their house hold without one.

18th Century Ottoman Essay
Honors College History 232
23 January 2013
Eighteenth Century Ottoman Empire The Ottoman Empire was a state founded by Turkish tribes
under Osman Bey in 1299. Under the leadership of Mehmed II, this fledgling nation became an
empire with the conquest of Constantinople in 1452 by Mehmed II. The Ottoman Empire continued in
its imperial form until it became the Republic of Turkey in 1923. As an empire, it was the most
powerful state in the world with 32 provinces during the seventeenth century. In the last half of the
seventeenth century, the Ottoman Empire functioned under the rule of the Koprulu family, a notable
family of imperial bureaucrats from Albania who overhauled the bureaucracy and instituted military
reforms. After the fall of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Janissary corps distinct social class and special privileges soon brought more harm than good to
the Sultans of the eighteenth Century. The group of men grew corrupt and lived above the law. Not
even the poor were given mercy. A prime example of this can be found in Lady Montague s Turkish
Embassy Letters, where the janissaries slaughter and feast on the poor s livestock then require the
households to pay teeth money. The lawlessness of these men grew so unbearable that Lady Montague
also observes and writes about, how tis the Emperor s interest to flatter [the janissaries] (Montagu,
105). The groups power became unchecked and tension between the Sultans and janissaries
magnified.
Ahmed III was the first ruler of the eighteenth century. His close ties to the European rulers lead to
prosperous relations with the French and Swedish. Ahmed, during his reign, afforded refuge to
Charles XII of Sweden after the Swedish defeat under the hands of Peter I of Russia in the Battle of
Poltava of 1709. In response to the Swedish defeat, Ahmed declared war against Russia and won the
Ottoman Empire s most notorious victory over Russia. Never before had the Ottoman forces come so
near to breaking the Russian power. The invasion, however, was halted in response to the incursion of
Safavids. Aside from the war, Ahmed left the finances of the Empire in a flourishing state

Character Analysis Of Charlie Gordon In Daniel Keyes...
Charlie Gordon knows he is not very intelligent and that the only thing he is good at is his job. In
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, Charlie, a 37 year old man, has an I.Q. of 68 which is a result
of a mental disorder. Later on he gets an opportunity from Dr. Strauss and Dr. Nemur to get an A.I.
surgery which would triple his I.Q. Charlie takes them up on the offer. After the surgery, Charlie gets
smarter, and a lot people get scared after knowing him as not being intelligent. He even gets fired from
his job because everyone felt uncomfortable and inferior around him. They signed a petition for him to
not work there anymore. Charlie didn t know what to do since it s all he s ever done. It s great that he
got more intelligent, but Charlie s life was way better before the surgery. He was happier, he was more

motivation, but after the surgery he had sadness, depression, lonely, and he could also feel ashamed.
The quote Now I m more alone than ever before... (Keyes 235). This shows he had depression. People
often think that since Charlie was smarter and could accomplish more after the surgery that he was
more liked previously, but most people didn t like him and were uncomfortable with him. For
example, he even lost his job because people didn t want him there because they were uncomfortable
with him. Dr. Nemur appears to be uncomfortable around me. Sometimes when I try to talk to him, he
just looks at me strangely and turns away (Keyes 236). This is why Charlie was better off before the

Privacy Law
1. What is the difference between privacy law and information systems security? How are they
related?
Privacy law stipulates what is public and what is private data. IS Security is required to comply with
the laws, which is how they are related.
2. Was the employee justified in taking home official data? Why or why not?
Uncertain. The employee had taken the work home for 3 years, and being as this is very likely to have
gone unnoticed for this period of time, although unauthorized, it was apparently considered normal at
that particular office.

11. What information system security and privacy security policies do you think would help mitigate
this breach and loss of privacy data?
Obviously, requiring all assets containing PII or PHI to be secured at the VA, with removal of those
assets being a violation of employment and cause for termination.
Modification of their Acceptable User Policy to reflect these requirements.
Conducting training for all personnel that have access to sensitive information.
12. What or whom was the weakest link in this chain of security and protection of privacy data?
Administration. With proper policies and requirements in place this incident would likely not have
happened.
13. If the VA had performed a security and information assurance audit for compliance, what can the
VA do on an annual basis to help mitigate this type of loose policy conformance?
By identifying deficiencies in policies or practices they can address the issues directly and ensure that
all policies are sufficient for information security compliance. Also, personnel with access to sensitive
information must be made aware of the consequences of non compliance, ensuring that accountability

Arterial blood gas analysis (ABG analysis) is a method used to measure the levels of oxygen and
carbon dioxide in the blood, these values are often reported as the partial pressure of oxygen and
carbon dioxide respectively (1). AGB analysis is also used to directly measure blood pH, with the
blood pH and partial pressure of carbon dioxide, one is able to calculate the concentration of
bicarbonate in the blood. ABG analysis can also be used to measure hemoglobin, lactate and
electrolyte levels contained, but is most commonly used to measure oxygen, carbon dioxide and pH

Due to the lack of insulin patients with type I diabetes are unable to use glucose as their primary
energy source, as a result their body switches to fat metabolism as its source of energy. As a result
acidic ketones are produced as metabolic byproduct, this can be directly detected as a decrease in pH
on ABG analysis. Patients with moderate to severe DKA have a blood pH ranging from 6.9 7.2,
lowered bicarbonate levels and a carbon dioxide partial pressure in the rage of 15 20mmHg. The the
cause of our patient her partial pressure of carbon dioxide was 15mmHg, bicarbonate was low and a

the ABG test results rarely effect a physicians diagnosis, treatment and management of the condition

Of Plymouth Plantation Mary Rowlandson Analysis
A typical belief that is upheld by the Puritans is the concept of providence, which means God acting in
the life of his creation. This concept is demonstrated in both William Bradford s, Of Plymouth
Plantation and Mary Rowlandson s, Narrative of the Capacity with God playing significant roles in
their lives. For instance, in William Bradford s journey to Cape Cod, him and his crew face starvation
who rescued by Squanto, was viewed as a special instrument sent (by) God... who directed them how
to set their corn (Bradford 33). Also demonstrating providence in the making is in Rowlandson s
narrative, who in times of turmoil is aided by God when she says, the lord answered, in some measure,
my poor prayers: For as I was... mourning and lamenting

Essay On Charles Lindbergh Kidnapping
The Kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh Jr.
What man is so cold hearted to murder a baby just to try to acquire some money? Charles Lindbergh
Jr. was kidnapped in attempts to get some ransom money from his wealthy father, the famous pilot
Charles Lindbergh. The murder of the child almost seemed to be an accident and that it was a slip up
in the plan to kidnap the child. The man that all evidence points to and that was convicted was Richard
Hauptmann, but a man named John Knoll might have been the mastermind behind the kidnapping and
murder Charles Lindbergh Jr.

From the start of the investigation investigators thought that the case would go cold because of the
lack of any information on who might be the kidnapper. Due to this lack of evidence and no possible
suspects at the start of the investigation it made the case have no real breakthroughs for the first two
months. This is until the evidence was evaluated more in depth, and new ransom notes were delivered
to the Lindbergh s.
The in depth analysis of the little evidence from the crime was able to lead the main suspect, Bruno
Hauptmann. From the first search of the nursery a ransom note demanding $50,000 was found on the
nursery window sill ( Lindbergh Kidnapping ). This ransom letter was found to have handwriting
similar to that of a German. After the case went cold for three days a second ransom note showed up,
this time the price was raised to $70000 ( Lindbergh baby kidnapped ). The Lindbergh s decided that
after the second ransom note, saying that their kid was still alive, they decided it was time to pay the
ransom money to save their child. They were able to negotiate with a man named John to pay the first
ransom of $50,000. This transaction went down in a cemetery close to the Lindbergh house, and gave
the mysterious man the nickname Cemetery John . This ransom money would later be used to find
Bruno Hauptmann, the real killer.
The gold certificates, not many were left in circulation, used to pay the ransom was the only reason

Modern Day Approach To Negligence
The modern day approach to negligence has developed significantly across the twentieth and twenty
first century. The stance now taken upon an action for negligence is that it must be established that a
duty of care is owed by the defender to the pursuer in order for liability to arise. This came about
following the decision made by Lord Atkin in the case of Donoghue v Stevenson, and has been further
developed in a number of other common law examples. Prior to this revolutionary judgement, there
was a quantitative restriction as to where a duty of care would arise, primarily only in relationships of
a particular nature i.e. a doctor and their patient. Where a wrongdoer carried out an act outside a
recognised relationship, there was no general ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The neighbour principle, introducing the foreseeability and proximity factors, has been critiqued as it
can be debated that the decision extended the scope far too much. The approach itself was a way
which would be able to unify the court and aid their decision, whilst also offering an element of
predictivity in relation to future cases. It is however worth noting that it can become too predictable at
times, as in many cases the neighbour principle will be somewhat perfectly fitting. Is it just as simple
as establishing that there is even just an ounce of proximity there and hence creating that duty of care?
There has been some degree of scepticism and so this brings us to Lord Wilberforce as he attempted to

The Stoop Effect of Interference
The Stroop Effect Since birth, we are taught that certain words are connected with certain ideas. For
example, the word R E D is associated with the color of the wavelength of light from approximately
620 740 nm on the electromagnetic spectrum (Bohren (2006)) or in simpler terms, the color of stop
signs, roses or strawberries. What if after you have connected the word RED to this certain color, the
word changed to A H P A H, a nonsense syllable? Kline (1921) created a law that says: If a is already
connected with b, then it is difficult to connect it with k, b gets in the way. In the example above,
anyone who is accustomed R E D being associated with the color red, would have difficulty
connecting the color red to AHPAH. This law is not just specific for colors. Any example involving
concepts or routines makes sense in the law. In Stroop s (1935) interference article, it was discovered
that there is more interference in color naming then color reading. The experiment described in the
article tested whether there was more interference from words or from colors (Stroop 1935). Two tests
were administered each with a separate control. The RCNd test determined how fast one could read
color names where the color was different from the color name while the NCWd test determined how
fast one could name colors where the color was different from the word on the page. The mean time
for 100 responses increased from 63.3 seconds on the RCNd test to 110.3 seconds on the NCWd test

Virulence Factors Of Cryptoccus Neoformans
Cryptococcus neoformans (Cn) is a basidiomycete fungus that causes cryptococcosis worldwide in
immunodeficiency and healthy individuals. In this pathogen, the elaboration of virulence factors
including melanin and the capsule depends on intact intracellular trafficking, an essential cellular
process also required for nutrient uptake, ion homeostasis, and receptor recycling. Our previous
studies have found that Cn evolves a cryptococcal intersectin (Cin1) regulated endocytic pathway
essential for growth and virulence. We have also obtained evidence linking Cin1 to extracellular RNA
through RNA Seq and to CNS survival through co infection of a mouse model of cryptococcosis.
However, how Cin1 governs the transport network affecting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Specifically, we will find if Cin1 orchestrates the only endocytic pathway and how it affects host
parasite interaction through regulating exRNA transport and mouse CNS survival. We propose three
specific aims: Aim 1 is to determine if Cin1 mediates the sole endocytic pathway in Cn through
identification and characterization of pathway components. Aim 2 is to examine the role of Cin1 in
exRNA export through continued annotation and analysis of RNA Seq data. Aim 3 is to further
explore the CNS survival advantage of Cin1 S by generating the Cin1 L strain using one step CRISPR
Cas9 mutagenesis method we recently developed and testing it through co infection.
Our central hypothesis is that intracellular trafficking is important in pathogen growth and interaction
with a host resulting pathogenesis (our long term goal). We propose those specific aims to test the
hypothesis that Cn evolves a distinct Cin1 endocytic pathway necessary for pathogenesis (short term
goal). Through studying a fundamental cellular process and its adaptation to pathogenesis of Cn, our
investigation could lead to the discovery of novel antifungal targets. 2. Specific Aims
Cryptococcus neoformans (Cn) virulence depends on active transport of vesicles that contain melanin
and capsule precursors, proteinases, and other macromolecules. We found that Cin1 is critical in
mediating intracellular trafficking affecting growth and virulence and that Cin1 S isoform exhibits a
marked survival advantage in the

Invention Of The Light Bulb
In our career and even life itself, we find that we take certain habits and processes that once we did not
have. Some of these are products of the influences other people have over us while others are
discoveries from our own personal experiences and stabs in the dark. These are littered with successes
but are primarily made up of failures. When something goes wrong for us or another and it could have
been prevented by taking another course of action, we learn what not to do and what to do. Take
Thomas Edison for example, the acclaimed inventor of the light bulb. Inventing a light bulb was not
an easy task and, as can be expected, there were many failures. Nonetheless he believed that I have not

The Majority Of Male Characters
The majority of male characters in Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion appear to be fundamentally flawed in
some important way. Freddy Eynsford Hill is raised as a gentleman and, thus, is a fool who has trouble
hailing a cab, let alone finding any suitable occupation for himself. Henry Higgins is well educated
but ill mannered, alienating him from society due to his inconsideration for others. Alfred Doolittle
appears to lack any sort of morals and seems equally free from fear and conscience. The only male
figure who stands out is Colonel Pickering, who seems talented, respectful, and compassionate
compared to his competition. Even so, Pickering is only superficially a gentleman; his concern,
respect, and treatment for others are overshadowed by his lack of growth and the play s criticism of
gentlemanly behavior as a whole. Pickering s true concern and compassion for others, particularly
Eliza, distinguish him from the other male characters. His first words to Eliza are, won t you sit down?
(Shaw II, 39). This courtesy, which Higgins does not extend, rightfully suggests that he thought and
felt about her as if [she] were something better than a scullerymaid, much to Higgins chagrin (V, 122).
At the same time, Pickering is not infatuated unlike Freddy (V, 130), who laughably spends most of
his nights on Wimpole Street because it s the only place where [he s] happy (IV, 106). All Eliza wants
is a little kindness, and Pickering, who is neither inconsiderate nor

drugs which result in a higher cost on consumers. If competing companies were allowed to produce
generic forms of those drugs, consumers will be able to afford those medications even in cases where
those consumers have no insurance coverage. The company responsible for developing and inventing
the original medication could be offered incentives to invent in the future by either obtaining tax
breaks or NIH funding for future research. They could even be offered a percentage of the sales of the
generic drugs. Economist Gary S. Becker advocates dropping many FDA requirements that, in his
opinion, provide no additional safety measures but rather delay the development of new drugs.[12]
Betamethasone, for example, has been part of the standard prenatal care in Europe since the late 1970
s while it got adopted in the U.S. after 1997. On many occasions, the FDA ignores all scientific
evidence concerning certain drugs because the manufacturer did not follow their mandated
bureaucratic standards. Many countries such as Canada, India, and the UK have price controls. The
governments of these countries impose regulations that control the prices of new drugs as well as
generics without compromising safety but at the same time they do not burden pharmaceutical

An Analysis of Toy Story Essay
Toy Story Analysis
Toy Story is the groundbreaking 1995 motion picture developed by Disney and Pixar and directed by
John Lasseter. The film was so revolutionary not only because it was the first feature length animation
to be created completely by CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) but also, also the film was more
rounded in all respects. The characters not only looked more sophisticated and three dimensional but
their personalities were also more human and fewer cartoons like. The film uses a constructed text in
order to put across a theme of two very different characters learning to work together beyond their
rivalries to rise above a common enemy and work towards a common goal. The film uses characters

Woody quickly becomes jealous and insecure with the arrival of Buzz and this turns him into a bully.
Not the characteristics expected of a Disney hero. This is shown in the way Woody constantly
ridicules Buzz making fun of his name and teases him maliciously about the fact he thinks he actually
is a space ranger. This brings us on to Buzz. He is super confidant and suffers from delusions of
grandeur. However although he may be a little irritating he is still likeable, cheerful and helpful. He
has too much confidence in own abilities. This is why when he sees the advertisement for Buzz
Lightyear Action figures he completely loses his will to live and is unable to do anything. This is
another theme that self belief has a reflection in what you are able to do as they both find out at the
end in that when they have confidence in themselves they are able to rise above seemingly
insurmountable obstacles in rescuing Buzz and getting back to Andy. Another theme is that of
appearances being deceptive. Woody and Buzz immediately consider the toys in Sid s room as evil.
The audience also get this feeling. Not only do they look disturbing but also they are also associated
with Sid who is the main evil character. Despite their initial fears, Woody and Buzz are soon
convinced that Sid s warped creations are also prisoners and are in fact friends. It turns out that
without the intervention of Sid s toys Sid would

Cultural Relativism
James Rachels essay titled The Challenge of Cultural Relativism is more of a critique over what
philosophers call Cultural Relativism. A theory in which states that there is no real sense of morality
and that it is one s own culture that makes up their own morality. A lot of people tend to reason things
in the way that Cultural Relativists might, by saying things such as Oh, well it s what that culture
does. It s okay that they re doing that however, sometimes people think the opposite No, it doesn t
matter. It is just wrong depending on the case. That s the thing with Cultural Relativism, making
things appear to be either helpful for some and harmful to others. And so, what Rachels ultimately
states in his argument that although ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are practices that are necessary in order for a society to continue thriving generation after
generation.
Different cultures have different moral codes. (Benedict, 18) What people find right or wrong lies in
the matter of opinion, which can vary depending on the type of culture they take a part of. This is the
first of the five main claims Rachels mentions in his essay that take a part of Cultural Relativism.
Which, by itself, is painfully obvious, it only takes a moment of learning about different cultures to
know this. But it is when the second claim; The moral code of a society determines what is right
within that society; that is, if the moral code of a society says that a certain action is right, then that
action is right, at least within that society (Rachels, 16) comes into place that brings up the cultural
differences argument. There are a lot of differences when it comes to moral cultures, this can be seen
from something as little as the mannerisms of the individuals to something as extreme as life and
death as Rachels mentioned with the example of the Eskimos. With those differences in mind, there
come different claims of morality depending on when and where the person is from. And thus,
morality becomes relative in regards to the cultural norms. And Rachels demonstrates an argument
against this, yes, there are differences amongst cultures, but it doesn t imply any difference when it
comes to the truth. Such as

Use Of Penelope s Voice In The Odyssey

Justice
No Truth in Story telling
Margaret Atwood gives voice to Penelope, one of antiquity s most infamous heroines, so that she can
tell her story at last and set the record straight once and for all (Canongate). The quotation printed at
the back of The Penelopiad gives a concise motivation why Margaret Atwood writes the book:
Atwood uses Penelope s voice to tell the readers how she is wronged in Homer s Odyssey. Although
the narrator Penelope dominates the book, the twelve hanged maids also interpose their own opinion
in prose and rhymes. However, it is not hard for the readers to find out that the two perspectives
contradict one another, the maids voice is often used as a counterpoint to Penelope s, when it comes to
why the maids are hanged. Since The Penelopiad is all about Penelope, then why does Atwood
employ the maids voice which causes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the mornings, our eyes darkened by lack of sleep, we d exchange smiles of complicity, and here and
there a quick squeeze of the hand...neither they nor I could take their servile behavior seriously (114 ).
From the vivid description of how close Penelope and the maids are, it can be seen that Penelope does
not only treat the maids with superiority, but also Penelope truly treats and loves the maids as if they
were sisters. Later, according to Penelope, when the suitors come, Penelope assigns the maids to be
her spies by ingratiating themselves with the suitors. When comes the turning point that Penelope
decides to tell the returning, furious Odysseus all about the plan, she is drugged to sleep. It was my
fault! (160). Throughout the whole book, Penelope frequently expresses her sorrow and dismay about
the hanging of the maids. It is as if Penelope herself were a victim in the hanging of the maids, she is
helpless and heartbroken when Odysseus kills her sister like

Foreign Direct Investment Risk Analysis on Cuba
Background: Cuba is an island in the Caribbean. La Habana is the capital of Cuba and its biggest city.
Cuba is not an industrialized country and it mainly consists of farms. Cuba is the largest island in the
Caribbean and the most populated with a population of over 11 million people. Cuba is a totalitarian
communist country and has been ruled by Fidel Castro since 1959. Raul Castro has succeeded Fidel

7. Support for Government 7 4 There is little to no support for Cuban government. There are currently
political prisoners and human rights movements that are not legally recognized by the government.
Also Cuba has government agencies similar to KGB of Soviet Union, which strictly investigates and
under covers people opposed to government, this they refer to as security of state. This is something I
am hopeful will change followed by more freedom for Cuban citizens.
8. Influence of Anti Business 5 3 The government allows foreign business but has full control to
change anything they want.
9. Public Opinion of Foreign 4 2
Ownership
Public is kept unaware of most major foreign ownership. For example, there are small islands off the
major island, which have been sold to Italy, Spain and France. The general population is told that
Cuba owns 51% of these islands. However, it is all very unclear being that the islands operate with
Euros. Cubans are not allowed on these islands; therefore I would think they are not happy with these
foreign ownerships.

The United Kingdom s National Health Service Essay
For any successful organization, there should be effective communication, culture, decision making
processes as well as organizational learning just to mention a few. The United Kingdom s National
Health Service is an organization that primarily helps citizens be in charge of their health care. The
group started with the principles that quality healthcare should be available to all regardless of their
social status, in this event, easy access to health care. NHS has over 64 million people enrolled and
deals with over 1 million patients every 36 hours. The organization employs over 1.6 million
employees who make it among the world s top employers together with other organizations such as
Wal Mart, McDonalds, and U.S Department of Defense. The NHS is wholly funded by taxpayer s
money that means that a majority of the public is often interested in what is going on at the NHS. The
rationale of this paper, therefore, is to look at four aspects of an organization and specifically the NHS.
These aspects are organizational communication, organizational culture, management and leadership
as well as organizational change. The second part of the paper is the background that will provide an
organizational overview of the key strengths and the challenges faced by NHS. Moreover, the paper
also contains concepts and analysis of the organizational theory and behavior. This section also
provides a current assessment of the NHS and determines if it is responsive or not. With the analysis

However, since McDoom s theory is based on Rwanda, it is not comprehensive in explaining
individual examples of defiance, which the majority of rescue acts were. Because intention and
motivation are notably impossible to determine, scholars have debated over the impetus for rescue;
established relationships, religion or the humanistic belief we are all human beings. Pre existing
relationships were commonplace and are excluded from Yad Vashem s Righteousness criteria. Kristen
Monroe tells the story of Irene, a Polish nurse compelled to hide Jews as she had close childhood
friendships with many Jewish girls, and had witnessed suffering in the ghettos. Irene instead likened
the Germans, not the Jews, to cockroaches. In contrast, Joanna Michlic has emphasised the
humanitarian desire to save innocent life. This has been backed up by Jacques Semelin, who cites a
banality of good in contrast to Hannah Arendt s often quoted banality of evil suggesting that some
people consider themselves connected to all human beings through the bonds of common humanity.

How Does Willy Russell Create Mood and Atmosphere in the...
In the Summer Sequence Willy Russell s three main protagonists are shown to grow up from the ages
of 15 to 18, thus becoming adults throughout the song. This means that the sequence acts as a
watershed in the respect that it marks a major turning point in the play. This is shown through the
atmosphere that Russell creates, which goes from fairly positive, hopeful tone to a more cynical and
desperate one over the duration of the sequence. Russell uses several techniques to create these
atmospheres throughout.
In the opening of the Summer Sequence the atmosphere is clearly a happy one, which is shown by
Russell by using words like young, free and innocent to describe the characters. In this section, the
word innocent is used twice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This explicitly refers to the brothers fate in a way in which the last section didn t, so the tone is far
more marred by the eventuality of their deaths. This date is also referenced when Russell extends the
metaphor, fate the later seasons bring , which causes the audience to remember the scene at the very
beginning of the play, preventing them from being drawn into the initial happiness of the three
teenagers in this sequence. Again, it refers to Linda being caught in the middle of the pair,
foreshadowing their final argument.
It also refers to Linda paying a price , a theme that was initially shown in the song Easy Terms , sung
by Mrs Johnstone, and in both cases foreshadows the price they ll have to pay for their involvement in
the twins lives. The music becomes far more serious and sinister, a repetitive tense note with no actual
melody.
In the next section a recurring theme is shown with the references to time. This creates a sad,
melancholic atmosphere, as the audience is aware of the character s significant lack of time together,
but the characters are not, so their happy unawareness and this dramatic irony is slightly poignant.
Again, fate is reference by the narrator care not for what s at the end of the day , again forcing the
audience to remember the fate of the boys, this

Edward Taylor Vs Anne Bradstreet Essay
Edward Taylor and Anne Bradstreet are two 17th century Puritan writers. Very so like most Puritans,
their works reflect their beliefs. Even though the writers are Puritans, they share some similarities
while having some differences. Taylor s works have a single focus which is totally religion based; on
the other hand, Bradstreet s works have a multiple focus of a personal level and of God. Alternatively,
both writers highly respect God.
Bradstreet uses metaphors and analogies of her own experiences and struggles with life to show God s

She personifies the poem as a child Thou ill formed offspring of my feeble brain (Line 1). The
offspring poem is horrible and ill formed. When she first writes her book, it is not good and she does
not want it to be published. Throughout the poem, she describes the process of her book being
published and her as a poet accepting her work. As for Edward Taylor, he writes with a narrower focus
and that is a focus on God. In all of his poems, he centers on God, but he is best known for his great
poem, Huswifery. In this poem, the speaker compares God making him into a better man to a woman s
spinning wheel. The poem opens with the pleading statement, Make me, O Lord, Thy spinning wheel

century poets share similarities, but not in their style of writing. Both poets share their beliefs of
Puritanism, but Anne Bradstreet also, gives readers a glimpse of herself. Moreover, they share

So in such circumstances, we must have some procedures for tackling illegal content on the Internet
and some mechanisms for allowing end user control of what is accessed on the Internet (Darlington).
It is argued that the genesis of the Internet was such that it embraced and fostered a new spirit of
freedom, openness and experimentation and that these values must remain an integral feature of the
Internet and if any form of regulation is introduced then the whole essence of the internet will be lost
and people would not be able to access the vast resources of information that it has to offer

individual s rights to freedom of expression and the concept of net neutrality because in such a
scenario a person may not be able to choose the content he wants to view. However, it should be
clearly understood that society is greater than a single person and if such rights of freedom cause harm
to the values of the society as a whole, then it is perhaps the responsibility of the government to
intervene and restrict the rights given to every individual in order to maintain those values.
There is offensive content on the internet , so this justifies the use of internet restrictions (Darlington).

discussing questions. Getting students involved in discussion at times was like pulling teeth, no one
opens their mouths and I found myself doing all of the talking (discussing). With all honesty, there are
other Sunday school teachers who fall in this same question and answer category, which I have
experienced. Nonetheless, this article expressed our purpose as teachers is to get the students involved
in classroom discussions by asking the right questions. Discussion is not conducted for the sake of
therapy but rather for the sake of pinpointing answers to questions for solutions. Ordinarily, teacher

some fleece blankets can impact a child at Primary Children s a lot. At Nationwide Children s Hospital
the items donated to them include: toys, crayons, coloring books, games, puzzles, wii/xbox games/

A Website On Air Pollution
Our proposal is to create a website that encourages people to learn about how to use their car
efficiently. Our website is called Greenriding and there are some games and quizzes that teach you
about air pollution. During this game you earn points and you can trade it in for coupons and the
coupon is sent to the person by email, and comes in a printable PDF. These coupons can be traded in
for things that help air pollution (free smog checks, free tire inflation, free shuttle rides, and free tune
ups). The reason our proposal is mainly focused on learning lessons, to earn points, to get coupons, is
because actually keeping your car in good shape is a huge impact on the environment. Also getting
your car checked out, and fixed soon after your engine light goes on, can improve your mileage by
more than 30%. The second part of Greenriding is a car and shuttle system called Greenrides. You can
either rent a shuttle bus for multiple people, or you could rent an individual car for just a few people.
To become a member of the Greenrides program, you pay $25 per year. You get the individual car
rides for free, but would still pay $10 per shuttle ride. We the car manufactures are concerned that the
next generation of drivers will not be educated enough on air pollution. They should be able to learn
about air pollution for a small price. Your car is designed to run at an optimal efficiency, however
time, distance, and weather, contribute to decreasing that efficiency. Routine

Louisiana Territory Research Paper
If the United States had not purchased the Louisiana Territory and won the Western Lands from
Mexico in the Mexican American War, our nation would be a very different place. Firstly, if we
wouldn t have purchased the Louisiana Territory we would probably not have all the land that we have
today in the United States. Secondly, in my opinion if it wasn t for Thomas Jefferson, Meriwether
Lewis, William Clark, and all the Native Americans the exploration could have been very different
from what it was. Also, Meriwether Lewis led the expedition and William Clark was to co lead the
expedition with Lewis. The Louisiana Territory was a good move for the U.S. because it doubled the
size of the United States! Also, another good thing about this ... Show more content on

Some of the U.S. Generals were Zachary Taylor, and Winfield Scott. General Zachary Taylor led the
troops during the Monterrey, and in September 25th, 1846 they captured the city. Winfield Scott
landed in Veracruz and he defeated the Mexicans, and during this time it was very important on the
United States side to control the port. In my opinion without these two U.S. Generals we would need
even more help to win. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed on February 2, 1848. This was a
big deal in my opinion for both sides of the war. The United States paid 15 million dollars for
California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. These turned into states and now are apart of the
United States. A border boundary was at the Rio

On the micro level, it greatly impacts the quality of care, cost, autonomy, and relations with patients. According to the research study, managed care greatly affects physicians. It reduces career satisfaction through its impact on doctors autonomy and the pressure caused by managed care may affect the doctor s ability to provide high quality of medical care. (Deom, Agoritsas, Bovier, Perneger, 2010, p. 7). Like for example, managed care contracting has a positive and negative impact on physicians and patients. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Effects Of Depression On Young Females And Increase The... Depression decreases a person s overall quality of life. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) a government agency, affirms that depression is the most common form of mood disorder in the United States (NIHM, 2015). Depression involves a combination of genetic, biological, environmental, and psychological factors (NIMH, 2015). It affects work, family life and relationships. Although depression usually affects adults, children and adolescents experience depression and are most likely affected into adulthood. (Guttmann Sameroff, 2004). This paper will evaluate how conflicts between mother and daughter relationships directly affects depressive symptoms in adolescent girls. Finally, this paper examines the preventive and intervention strategies to help control depression in young females and increase the relationship between mother and daughter during adolescence years. Recent studies have shown that females are at a greater risk to experience depression than males (Daley Rao, 2000, Morris, McGrath, Goldman Rottenberg, 2014). Adolescence is a time in young girl s lives that they are faced with transitions. Statistics show that individual risks may double if a first degree relative has been diagnosed with breast cancer (Breast Cancer Risk and Risk Factors, 2016). My risks are doubled as my maternal grandmother had breast cancer. My passion for radiology coupled with my personal risk of breast cancer has influenced my desire to pursue a career in mammography. Mammography is a non invasive radiographic modality performed to image tissues of the breast to detect abnormalities of the breast tissue and provide a diagnosis. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in woman. The best defense against breast cancer is early detection with regular mammograms (Bontrager, 2014, 248). Mammography uses a low dose of ionizing radiation to image and detect breast tissue abnormalities, and is most often used in conjunction with ultrasound, nuclear medicine, MRI and PET scans. The stance now taken upon an action for negligence is that it must be established that a duty of care is owed by the defender to the pursuer in order for liability to arise. This came about following the decision made by Lord Atkin in the case of Donoghue v Stevenson, and has been further developed in a number of other common law examples. It is however worth noting that it can become too predictable at times, as in many cases the neighbour principle will be somewhat perfectly fitting. • 16. The Stoop Effect of Interference The Stroop Effect Since birth, we are taught that certain words are connected with certain ideas. For example, the word R E D is associated with the color of the wavelength of light from approximately 620 740 nm on the electromagnetic spectrum (Bohren (2006)) or in simpler terms, the color of stop signs, roses or strawberries. What if after you have connected the word RED to this certain color, the word changed to A H P A H, a nonsense syllable? Kline (1921) created a law that says: If a is already connected with b, then it is difficult to connect it with k, b gets in the way. In the example above, anyone who is accustomed R E D being associated with the color red, would have difficulty connecting the color red to AHPAH. This law is not just specific for colors. Any example involving concepts or routines makes sense in the law. In Stroop s (1935) interference article, it was discovered that there is more interference in color naming then color reading. The experiment described in the article tested whether there was more interference from words or from colors (Stroop 1935). Two tests were administered each with a separate control. The RCNd test determined how fast one could read color names where the color was different from the color name while the NCWd test determined how fast one could name colors where the color was different from the word on the page. Our previous studies have found that Cn evolves a cryptococcal intersectin (Cin1) regulated endocytic pathway essential for growth and virulence. We have also obtained evidence linking Cin1 to extracellular RNA through RNA Seq and to CNS survival through co infection of a mouse model of cryptococcosis. Aim 2 is to examine the role of Cin1 in exRNA export through continued annotation and analysis of RNA Seq data. Aim 3 is to further explore the CNS survival advantage of Cin1 S by generating the Cin1 L strain using one step CRISPR Cas9 mutagenesis method we recently developed and testing it through co infection. Our central hypothesis is that intracellular trafficking is important in pathogen growth and interaction with a host resulting pathogenesis (our long term goal). This is the first of the five main claims Rachels mentions in his essay that take a part of Cultural Relativism. Which, by itself, is painfully obvious, it only takes a moment of learning about different cultures to know this. But it is when the second claim; The moral code of a society determines what is right within that society; that is, if the moral code of a society says that a certain action is right, then that action is right, at least within that society (Rachels, 16) comes into place that brings up the cultural differences argument. There are a lot of differences when it comes to moral cultures, this can be seen from something as little as the mannerisms of the individuals to something as extreme as life and death as Rachels mentioned with the example of the Eskimos. Use Of Penelope s Voice In The Odyssey Lingyan Xie Justice No Truth in Story telling Margaret Atwood gives voice to Penelope, one of antiquity s most infamous heroines, so that she can tell her story at last and set the record straight once and for all (Canongate). The quotation printed at the back of The Penelopiad gives a concise motivation why Margaret Atwood writes the book: Atwood uses Penelope s voice to tell the readers how she is wronged in Homer s Odyssey. Although the narrator Penelope dominates the book, the twelve hanged maids also interpose their own opinion in prose and rhymes. However, it is not hard for the readers to find out that the two perspectives contradict one another, the maids voice is often used as a counterpoint to Penelope s, when it comes to why the maids are hanged. Since The Penelopiad is all about Penelope, then why does Atwood employ the maids voice which causes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Later, according to Penelope, when the suitors come, Penelope assigns the maids to be her spies by ingratiating themselves with the suitors. When comes the turning point that Penelope decides to tell the returning, furious Odysseus all about the plan, she is drugged to sleep. It was my fault! (160). The United Kingdom s National Health Service Essay For any successful organization, there should be effective communication, culture, decision making processes as well as organizational learning just to mention a few. The United Kingdom s National Health Service is an organization that primarily helps citizens be in charge of their health care. The group started with the principles that quality healthcare should be available to all regardless of their social status, in this event, easy access to health care. NHS has over 64 million people enrolled and deals with over 1 million patients every 36 hours. The organization employs over 1.6 million employees who make it among the world s top employers together with other organizations such as Wal Mart, McDonalds, and U.S Department of Defense. The NHS is wholly funded by taxpayer s money that means that a majority of the public is often interested in what is going on at the NHS. The rationale of this paper, therefore, is to look at four aspects of an organization and specifically the NHS. These aspects are organizational communication, organizational culture, management and leadership as well as organizational change. The second part of the paper is the background that will provide an organizational overview of the key strengths and the challenges faced by NHS. Moreover, the paper also contains concepts and analysis of the organizational theory and behavior. This section also provides a current assessment of the NHS and determines if it is responsive or not. With the analysis ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because intention and motivation are notably impossible to determine, scholars have debated over the impetus for rescue; established relationships, religion or the humanistic belief we are all human beings. Pre existing relationships were commonplace and are excluded from Yad Vashem s Righteousness criteria. Kristen Monroe tells the story of Irene, a Polish nurse compelled to hide Jews as she had close childhood friendships with many Jewish girls, and had witnessed suffering in the ghettos. Irene instead likened the Germans, not the Jews, to cockroaches. In contrast, Joanna Michlic has emphasised the humanitarian desire to save innocent life. This has been backed up by Jacques Semelin, who cites a banality of good in contrast to Hannah Arendt s often quoted banality of evil suggesting that some people consider themselves connected to all human beings through the bonds of common humanity.
