Theme Of Beatrice In Much Ado About Nothing
Shakespeare established Beatrice s character in order to bring to the stage opposition to the typical
woman of the Elizabethan era and shed light on gender inequality. Hero seems to be the optimal
woman, polite, obedient, and quiet. She supports societies patriarchal views, submitting first to her
father, who commands her to accept Claudio s hand when he proposes, and submissive to her new
fiancé, even after he publicly humiliates her. Beatrice, on the other hand, is cynical, sharp, witty, and a
feisty woman. A woman legitimately criticizing a man does not go with gender roles in this society,
and therefore Leonato feels the need to cover it up, belittling and dismissing what Beatrice has to say
her honest opinion of Benedick. The same issue seems to arise when Beatrice and Benedick banter
back and forth. Beatrice takes jabs at Benedick s character, and unable to handle a woman insulting
him, he gives up, or cops out. Beatrice stands out as a character in Much Ado about nothing because
she is a proud, strong female character, rare during Shakespeare s time. She refuses to marry because
she hasn t found a perfect equal partner and is unwilling to submit her control and freedom to a
husband. She yearns to be equal with men, something that challenges the gender inequality of
Elizabethan time.
The way Shakespeare has the men view the women characters in Much Ado About Nothing also gives
insight into Elizabethan gender equality as well. Throughout the play, women

How Is Crane-Man In A Single Shard
Crane man, one of the lead characters in the novel A Single Shard, undergoes several changes from the
beginning to the end. Two of his main traits are his selflessness and his independence.
At the beginning of the novel, Crane man is seen as selfless; because, although he is crippled, he takes
in a young orphan named Tree ear. There are many ways Crane man shows his selflessness. For an
example, when Tree ear went on his long journey, Crane man made Tree ear take all of the food
instead of giving half to Crane man. On page 102, Crane man says, Are you thinking of me, my
friend? Do not worry. I fed myself and you, for that matter for many years before you worked for Min.
I can do so again. Do you think me so helpless now? Crane man

Jooslin Diabetes Center Case Study
Joslin Diabetes Center Case Analysis Situation The Joslin Diabetes Center (the Joslin) is a facility that
serves patients who suffer diabetes, conducts diabetes researches and provide diabetes education. The
center was founded in 1898. After insulin was found and introduced, the Joslin grew fast. In 1956,
Joslin Diabetes Center facility was finished and it was the first facility that focused on diabetes care.
After years of developing, by 2007 it had become the largest diabetes center in the world. However,
the Joslin was suffering operating losses consistently, which led to the decrease of restricted assets.
The Joslin was first to develop a diabetes care model that combined both medical and educational
professionals. This model includes three key elements: treatment, education, and research. Applying
this to the practice, the Joslin contains three departments: clinical, research and strategic initiatives.
Treatment Approximately 80,000 patients visited the Joslin in 2008. Most of the patients came to the
clinic no farther than 50 miles from home. About 60 percent of the Joslin s patients had Type 2
diabetes; the rest had Type 1 diabetes. Among the patients, about 2,000 were under 20 years of age,
almost all who had Type 1 diabetes. Research All of the research conducted in the Joslin was related to
diabetes. The Joslin received subsidy from National Institutes of Health and other financial sources.
Besides, the Joslin has a program to make its innovations profitable.

Difference Between Miscarriage And Ectopic Pregnancy
Have you ever had an experience that changed your life in a blink of an eye? An experience so intense
that it keeps replaying in your head? I m nineteen years old and in these days it s not shocking to hear
young girls getting pregnant, but no matter what age, it s always hard to hear about any type of
miscarriage. An ectopic pregnancy was what I had, and I m still recovering from it. 1 in 4 girls have an
ectopic pregnancy, which is also called a tubal pregnancy. It is not considered a miscarriage, but it is
considered to be in the same category as one. The difference between a miscarriage and an ectopic
pregnancy is that with a miscarriage, the fetus is still growing but along the way something happens.
An ectopic pregnancy (tubal pregnancy) is when the fetus is misplaced in a fallopian tube and the tube
ruptures which can cause you to bleed out to death. This is very difficult to find since an ultrasound

While I was in the recovery room, my surgeon came in and told my boyfriend and I that the fetus had
grown to the point where my tube ripped so they had to remove my left fallopian tube completely. My
first thought was my baby and why this had to happen to me. Everything happened so fast that I didn t
know how to process all of it. It was hard to know that I was pregnant one moment and then the next
having that amazing feeling getting ripped away from me. A couple hours later I was finally able to go
home and rest. As days go on I think about all the things that happened to me in that short period of
time. I didn t know what an ectopic pregnancy was until that day. I had an experience that changed my
life completely in just in a blink of an eye. Even though 19 is still a young age, it should never happen
to anyone. I stop to think every day about that day and what had happened to me was a tragedy. Ever
since then, I ve seen how much I have changed and because of that I cherish life

Sharks hunt for food in a variety of ways. From the blood sniffing style of the Great White to the
ambush tactics of the Goblin shark, they all needed to catch their food somehow.
The Whitetip shark, for example, lives In deep water where it is hard to find food it must be ready to
catch food. The shark has extremely tense senses, so that it can sense the slightest movement and
easily catch the prey easily.
The infamous Great White shark has very simple tactics, its senses are also not as extreme. They like
to hang off shore and pick off prey like seals and small whales. The unique hammerhead shark enjoys
eating stingrays. They can detect electricity with special organs in their head, they then can chase

How Does Montresor Plan To Kill Fortunato
The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as best I could; but when he ventured upon insult, I
vowed revenge. ... I must not only punish, but punish with impunity. (Poe, 233)
Some of Montresor s very first words when he is telling the story show that he wants revenge against
Fortunato. By saying, I must not only punish, but punish with impunity, it is shown that he intends to
get away with the deed he plans to commit.
It must be understood that neither by word not deed had I given Fortunato cause to doubt my
goodwill. I continued, as was my wont, to smile in his face, and he did not perceive that my smile now
was at the thought of his immolation. (Poe, 234)
By this point in the story, Montresor is clearly planning to kill Fortunato. While to Fortunato he
appears friendly and cheerful, he is secretly thinking of ways to murder his friend. Montresor does not
want Fortunato to suspect anything, as is shown in the sentence, It must be understood that neither by
word not deed had I given Fortunato cause to doubt my goodwill. ... Show more content on

Essay on Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market
Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market
One of the strongest emotions inherent in us as humans is desire. The majority of the time, we are
unable to control what we crave; however, with practice, we learn not all things we want are
necessary. As a result of this mature understanding, we are able to ease our feelings and sometimes
even suppress our desires. Something even more mature is understanding that when we give in to our
desires, we become vulnerable. In a harsh, brutal world, vulnerability will not work to our advantage.
In Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market, she writes about a sister who succumbs to her desire and pays
dearly for it while the other sister resists her desires and receives the ultimate reward of her sister s ...

Lizzie, having run away from the goblin men, isn t faced with any real desire for their fruit yet;
however, at the onset of her sister s premature aging, she is forced to seek out the goblin men for her

angry and begin to force the fruit upon her. She resists all attempts and the goblin men leave: Lizzie

My Reflection Of My Personal Experience In College Writing
Being away from college for three years you forget the basic understanding of particular material f or

Writing. Writing 101 help me familiarize myself with the basic grammar and mechanics in college
writing, this was an opportunity that many military personnel are unfortunate to receive due to being
deployed, where most service members have to interact with their teacher via the internet. I have the
chance of being placed in a hybrid class; this afforded me the opportunity to interact with both the
students and teacher on a weekly basis and give me a synopsis of what college life is like when I

Examples Of Foreshadowing In The Veldt
The Veldt Excessive attachment to technology can be dangerous to families and cause destruction.
Ray Bradbury, the author of the short story The Veldt , has been described as a mainstream fantasist of
great brilliance by Richard Wollheim. Lydia and George have raised two children, Peter and Wendy, in
an electronic house where they can have everything they ever wanted. Everything is done for them,
replacing the need for real parents. However, there is one exceptional room that the children have
become excessively attached to. This room is known as the nursery, a high tech room that converts
into whatever the human mind can conjure up. The children s unhealthy attachment to this room leads
to their parents demise, as it replaces their actual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A quote from The Veldt is He showed it to her. The smell of hot grass was on it and the smell of a lion.
There were drops of saliva on it, it had been chewed, and there were blood smears on both sides
(Bradbury). Within the story, Bradbury uses foreshadowing shown through George s wallet found on
the nursery ground. This wallet had been chewed and smeared with blood, foreshadowing that soon,
George would face his death. A quote from another source is, Bradbury uses this technique to hint at
the fate of George and Lydia Hadley. While the two are lying in bed, they hear screams coming from
the nursery, and Lydia comments, Those screams they sound familiar. Later, the reader realizes that
the screams sound familiar to Lydia because they are actually her screams and those of her husband
(Ira Mark Milne). Another example of foreshadowing are the screams George and Lydia hear
throughout the story. The screams are a result of Wendy and Peter conjuring up the death of their
parents with their minds in the nursery. This ties to the theme because foreshadowing connects to the
idea that technology takes reign in the lives of children. One last quote is, He bent and picked up a
bloody scarf. This yours? (Bradbury). Once again, George discovers a sign of death within the
nursery. The scarf gives an insight into the children s minds, which are filled with dark thoughts. It
foreshadows death once again, however, this time the personal item belongs to Lydia, foreshadowing

Nine Anatomic Terms
The hip, one of the largest major weight bearing joints in the body. It s where the thigh bone also
known as the femur meets three other bones known as the pelvic bone. These bones create a ball and
socket joint which is when a ball shaped bone (femur) articulates with cup shape cavity of another
bone (pelvic bone). A ball and socket joint is also characterized as synovial joint. Synovial joints are
more complex joints that are held together by a capsule of dense connective tissue and filled with
synovial fluid that lubricates the joints. The joint capsule which is composed of large ligaments,
tendons, and other muscles keeps the hip from dislocating. The head of the femur and the socket of the
hip bone (acetabulum) is covered with articular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The femoral neck or intracapsular fracture occurs when the neck of the femur breaks and sometimes
the ball may move out of it s place. This type of fracture happens more likely with athletes and
performers. Over years there have been several methods orthopedists have used to fix femoral neck
fractures. In 1931, Smith Petersen used internal fixation by reducing pain and pressure to the fractured
parts followed by immobilization in a spica cast application. Until 1970 another widely spread method
called the multiple pin fixation technique was introduced by another orthopedist. In this method the
fracture fragments would heal with the insertion of Pugh nails and Richards screws. Both of these
methods include a sliding fixation process where the fractured fragments rub against each other. The
second type of hip fracture which is repaired more frequently is intertrochanteric hip fracture. The
intertrochanteric hip fracture occurs slightly below the neck of the femur and the lesser trochanter.
These fractures undergo a treatment that involves the insertion of AO proximal femoral or sliding
plates, intramedullary nails, cannulated or dynamic hip screws, and/or rods to balance and protect the
fractures. After the surgery, surgeries suggest that the patients stay in bed to make sure the fracture
does not occur again. The third type of hip fracture is subtrochanteric fracture. The

Dental Implant Equation
Comprehensive treatment of patients with missing teeth and/or hypodontia is difficult. It requires a
teamwork included an orthodontist, a prosthodontist, and a surgeon( in case of implant insertions) to
achieve ideal results. Dental implants may be considered the best treatment option for patients with
hypodontia. Using dental implants in patients with hypodontia may be challenging due to some
limitations such as reduced mesiodistal space, impairing the ideal positioning of implants. Too often,
surgeons attempting to place standard diameter implants have forced the restorative team to manage

Woman Hollering Creek Summary
Woman Hollering Creek
As I was reading the Marriage unit assignments, I found I had a hard time relating to the readings as I
am Asexual Aromatic and cannot relate to the relationships or many of the circumstances the authors
wrote about. However, one story that really stood out which I could semi relate to, was Woman
Hollering Creek by Sandra Cisneros. The main character Cleófilas s story has many similarities to my
mother s. While the story doesn t directly relate to me, the parallel events of Cleófilas s and my
mother s stories have affected my life in one way or another. Similarly to Cleófilas, my mother
experienced domestic violence, isolation from friends and family, as well as a fear of shame towards
leaving her husband. Within Cisneris s story, the main character Cleófilas experienced domestic
violence just as my mother had in her past. A few years ago, after my parent s had separated, I was
talking with my mother; somehow we go on the topic of domestic violence and abuse. She told me

The Beat Generation Research Paper
Women of The Beat Generation The Beat Generation, one of the most significant social and cultural
movements of the 1950s, inspired a lifestyle which rejected conformity and focused on individual
freedom. It was America s most celebrated counter culture and consisted of numerous writers of which
Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Neal Cassady and William S. Burroughs are well known today. One of
the key figures, Jack Kerouac, is famous for his work in On The Road which is about adventurous

object of desire. Moreover, they were not highly acknowledged for their work as men were. Those

Hollow Men Imagery
This is an interesting work as it threw me in a loop trying to understand the imagery. His speaking of
Hollow Men create an imagery of scarecrows with straw in their hats. He speaks of hollow men who
are stuffed, seemingly contradicting himself in the first sentence until he mentions the hats filled with
straw. He seemingly speaks of scarecrows as they represent the human form but are lifeless, empty,
stuffed with hay. I am listening to the story these Hollow Men mean to tell me, they whisper so softly

These others seem to acknowledge the Hollow Men as nothing more than scarecrows rather than what
they really are. I learn here that the hollow men are in fact spirits or lost, violent souls. Our Hollow
Men appear to have not crossed over, as if they re in limbo. Previously they are mentioned as
something yet nothing, meaning that these hollow men are just people who have lost their humanity or
the qualities that made them human. The Hollow Men are frightened to meet the gaze of the spirits
who cross as if they think they are beneath these others. Until the Hollow Man tells me that the
kingdom is unlike paradise, there is a tree swinging, and voices are in the wind s singing more distant
and more solemn than a fading star. He seems to have a fixation on eyes as if they are important as he
explains There, the eyes are Sunlight on a broken column . Now this imagery appeared to me as a
fractured incoherent mess as it said eyes were like sunlight cast onto a broken column, but I came to
the conclusion that the eyes see truth and truth can be mostly be compared to light as like light helps
you see and understand so does truth. These eyes see the Hollow Men for what they truly are and the
Hollow Men are terrified of the image they see. The Hollow Men live in an incomprehensible world
and are terrified of knowing how things truly are so they stay

Influenza Pandemic Of 1918 Essay
From 1918 1919, the influenza virus swept the world and had disastrous effects. Different factor
contributed to the spread of the virus. Many religious groups believed the virus was an evil that had
fallen on the land and that only God can save them. Others caught the disease due to the lack of
sanitary prevention, such as there being no inspections in the trading ports. Also many people were
ignorant and knowledgeable about the pandemic because of the lack of response from
health/government officials. In all, the lack of authority was a huge contributing factor to the spread of
the influenza virus.
The Great War helped create the influenza pandemic of 1918, and due to the close quarter s nature of
military service and trench warfare that helped the virus spread. Army recruits in World War One were

Scholars like Johan Galtung, Robert Gilpin and Noam Chomsky greatly influenced the background
ideas of this paper. Most of the cases the author argues come and are mostly based from the books of
the said scholars.
Galtung discusses most of the points that are crucial to this paper like the similar factors between
empires and the current western imperialism and what the implications of these similarities are. Gilpin
on the other hand, is more focused on the discussion of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One of which is the book named the European superpower. The book by John McCormick is all about
Europe being the new superpower. McCormick based his ideas on the economic, political and cultural
status of Europe. It has become a routine for everyone that the United States of America is the world s
last remaining superpower. The nature of power has developed since the Cold War driven meaning of
superpower evolved.
Military power is no longer essential to great power; the author argues that control of the means of
production is more important than control of the means of destruction, and contrasts the threatening
hard power of the United States with the opportunities offered by the soft power wielded by the
European Union. McCormick also argues that the reason why Europe is a superpower is because the
combination of civilian and military instruments in a unique and unprecedented is giving more
advantages over the US in a world in which, as Iraq has shown, hard power has clear limits and soft
power backed by tangible means is a commodity of growing significance. The European Union (EU)
global role is the doubt of most of the current assessments of unipolarity in world politics and
American empire .
McCormick is into the idea that the global economy and the non military actions against security
threats in particular terrorism are more likely to work because they did good in encouraging and
giving opportunities to get others to

A Simple Mathematical Model Of The Underlying Economics
The current crisis is catalyzing an array of responses, including searching for causes, reworking
regulations, scapegoating and a massive capital injection. Without a clear understanding of the cause,
the remedies may do more harm than good, innocents may be scapegoated, and valuable progress in
financial tools may be lost. Worse, it will happen again. From a simple mathematical model of the
underlying economics, I first predicted this crisis in July of 2004. Economic dynamic relating very
low interest rates to the structure of the demand curve in the housing market made this outcome
foreseeable, indeed inevitable. The current crisis had a mathematical cause. There isn t space here for
full explanations; see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two central facts are these: for reasons we ll discuss, buyers buy a monthly payment, not a house
price, and buyers buy as much house as they can afford. This brings us to the heart of the matter:
mortgages that require no down payment, and only interest payments, alter the structure of the demand
curve for real estate, in a way that is harmless enough when interest rates are high, but which drives a
bubble at low interest rates. Specifically, they make housing prices inversely proportional to the
interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, house prices double. When those rates double, house
prices are slashed in half. When interest rates are large, they are not likely to double or halve, but
when interest rates are small, a small adjustment can be a big percentage change, and the danger of big
swings in housing prices is appreciable, even inevitable. With no down payment, no amortization and
closing costs folded into the loan, the only issue in affording a house is the monthly payment, which is
the house price multiplied by the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, the house you can buy
with a given monthly payment costs twice as much. But the same number of people with the same
income distribution is competing for a fixed stock of housing. The house price is bid up until the new
monthly payment at the new interest rate matches the old monthly payment at the old interest rate. The
house price varies inversely

Comparing Blessing by imtiaz Dharke and Island Man by...
In this essay I will be comparing two poems which show connections between people and the places
in which they live. The two poems I will be comparing and contrasting are Blessing by imtiaz Dharker
and Island Man by Grace Nichols. Both of these poets express their feelings through these poems.
Grace Nichols allocates her experiences of how people feel when separated from the environment and
place they lived in for such a long period of time. On the contrary Imtiaz Dharker uses the poem
Blessing to convey the importance of water for less fortunate people. From both of the poems I have
chosen I can see that the poets have written about something they feel is important. The reason why I
have chosen these two poems is because both of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The poem Blessing is about an unfortunate group of people who miraculously find clean water
because of a pipe bursting. This is seen as a blessing because of the inadequate amount of water they
get in addition to the hot weather conditions and constant droughts. Imtiaz Dharker sets the poem
Blessing in a shanty town near Mumbai. She starts the poem with a powerful simile describing the
state of these people whilst setting the scene. The skin cracks like a pod . The word skin could demote
metaphorically to the earth. Immediately an image of drought and dry soil comes to mind. The phrase
cracks highlights how hot the country is. This is effective because it allows the reader to envision the
scene. The use of onomatopoeia exemplifies the noise of the ground exemplifies the noise of the
ground. On the other hand the poem. Island Man is about a Caribbean man who one morning woke up
in London. This anonymous character is used live in the Caribbean island but wakes up every morning
to the sounds and blissful memories of the Caribbean. The Caribbean Scenario that he thinks he has
woken up to contrasts harshly with the reality of his existence in London. The sentence wakes up to
sounds of blue surf proves that Island Man sees the Caribbean as a calm and relaxing location
however the poet describes London as a grey metallic soar . This usage of language is an illusion

Laws of Supply and Demand
Microeconomics and the Laws of Supply and DemandECO/365October 13, 2014Professor
CoulibalyComedian P.J. O Rourke said it best when he said, microeconomics concerns things that
economists are specifically wrong about, while macroeconomics concerns things economists are
wrong about generally. Or to be more technical, microeconomics is about money you don t have, and
macroeconomics is about money the government is out of (Beggs, 2014). On a serious note however,
macroeconomics and microeconomics are different from each other yet both play a crucial role.
The Atlantis simulation gave a great example of the two important aspects of economics,
microeconomics and macroeconomics. This simulation showed different scenarios and situations of ...

Their immediate response was to lower the rent and in doing so they raised the demand rate because it
added to consumers desire to move into apartments with lower rental costs. As the demand for the
lower rental costs rises, the vacancy rate or the supply decreased.
As the number of available apartments increases, the supply curve shifts right. As the rental rate
increases, the supply also increases. By leasing all 2,500 apartments, the rental rate will be pushed to
$1,500. The demand curve begins to shift down as the rental rate and supply of apartments increase. If
Goodlife increases their rental rate to the $1,500, the demand for the apartments will decrease. To
reach the equilibrium Goodlife must decrease the rental rate to $1,050 and in so doing the number of
demanded units and the number of supplied units will be equal.
In applying this to my workplace, supply and demand is based on the number of students brought into
the system every other week. Most times we expect to get six to eight new students every fourteen
days. If that number goes up we have to order more goods to take care of the increase. On the other
hand if that number decreases we have to order fewer goods. Also, with fewer students we need fewer
staff to take care of those students.
In microeconomics, the market supply and demand rely on competitors and prices. Market equilibrium
is one of the most important concepts in the study of economics. Market equilibrium is a market state

The Value Chain Of Tesco
INTRODUCTION
Large business organisations constitute not only a single strategic business unit, but a culmination of
several business units. The business units which may number anywhere from 4 to as many as 20 or
more cannot be considered as a single, separate and disparate entity. Rather the business units are
attached to each other like a string completing a full circle, where each complements the predecessor
and the successor. The breakdown of any one entity in the chain can have a telling effect on the whole
chain itself. Now depending on the type of sector chosen the units in the business chain vary in
number and complexity. For example unlike a software company the units/ operational units in
company which deals with products/goods are much larger in number. As explained in the previous
lines the units in operation are linked and performance of one affects the performance of the other
units linked to that unit. Value chain management comes in this picture. ... Show more content on

Child Witnesses
Courts within United Kingdom, along with several other countries have made several propositions for
addressing the vulnerability of child witnesses within the courtroom, although these provisions
generally do not directly address the linguistic difficulties. Thus, in some jurisdictions, child witnesses
are allowed to give evidence on closed circuit television, in order to alleviate them from trauma of
being face to face in court with a suspect against whom they are testifying against. However, children
are often required to be present in court for cross examination, sometimes provided with support by a
screen between the child and the accused (Birnbaum, and Bala, 2010).

How Music Has Impacted My Life Essay
Music has always played an important role in my life. Even as a student of film, I tell stories inspired
by song lyrics, for the words, rhythms, and instruments of rock music have impacted my life to an
unimaginable extent. Whenever I edit video, the underscore is vital. When I write a script, there s a
poetic sound, a lyricism to the dialogue. I would not even be here in Los Angeles if not for artists such
as Courtney Love and Jared Leto, who cross boundaries between music and film. In particular, Jared
Leto s career is something to behold. An award winning actor, director, musician, and pure artist, Leto
epitomizes my creative values: never settle, and don t be afraid to be dedicated to whatever you want
to do.
Origins
Born in Louisiana, Jared Leto attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia to pursue painting.
However, he eventually dropped out and studied acting in NYC. He then transitioned to California to
begin his career music ( Jared Leto: Biography ). His big break in acting came from the short lived,
yet critically lauded TV series, My So Called Life (1994). Four years later, he became lead singer for
his rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars. As the years progressed, Leto found success in both artistic
avenues.
Leto s last film of the 2000s, Mr. Nobody (2009), was met with critical accolades, but marked the
beginning of his hiatus from film. In 2013, Leto returned in full swing with his supporting role in
Dallas Buyer s Club (2013). A commercial and critical

Security protects organisation or properties from an individual without authorisation. Security protects
your computer from assault, theft and fraud etc. In business there needs to be a document stating how
the company can protect their information technology and the company s material. This all needs to be
written down. The company s security policy is always updated because of the employee and
technology. There are many security threats on the internet, here are a few of them:
Identity theft:
Identity theft is when a criminal gets hold of your personal information. For example bank account
details.
Virus:
Virus is a code that attacks the network system and computer. This happens because the data files are
contaminated and this is done on a system through the internet or disk. The virus tries to hid it self and
send it self to others. The virus is harmful to your computer.

Trend analysis:
Trend analysis predicts the potential movements of a stock that is based on past data. There are
different types of charts that you can create. For instances you can make a chart Traders get an idea of
what might happen in the future, they get this idea from what has happened before in the past. The
three types of trends are long, short, and intermediate term. Trend analysis is good because it does not

Summer for the Gods concentrates on the Dayton, Tennessee Scopes trial, or Monkey Trial, of 1925.
The trial was over a Tennessee law that banned teaching evolution in public schools. The American
Civil Liberties Union protested the law with teacher, John Scopes, who agreed to help. The trial of the
century brought together two famous political enemies, William Jennings Bryan, who led the anti
evolution crusade, and Clarence Darrow, who was known as the best criminal defense lawyer and
evolution supporter. The author presents the history of controversy that led to the trial. Fossil

Understanding the book requires a semi vast knowledge of vocabulary and laws, and is clearly
intended for an audience that has studied the subject of Christianity versus Evolution before.
Larson starts out by describing the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin and why he thinks it is such a
great piece of scientific literature, and describes how it greatly affected the Christian community
because a large part of it went against the Bible. He then explains the ideas behind evolution and
natural selection. Larson stated that evolution was the theory that current living species evolved from
preexisting species (Larson 14). Next, he sets the background for the rest of his book by giving details
of how the situation surrounding evolution arose, and how the two lawyers got involved in the case..
He sets the background for the court case by stating that the teaching of evolution was banned in the
schools of Dayton, Tennessee and that John Scopes was being prosecuted for teaching it to the class he
was substituting.
Following his explanation of the basis on the case, he describes the differences between
fundamentalism and modernism. He describes how one of the main causes of the pressure between
them is an aftermath of World War I. Fundamentalism is following religion as stringently as possible,
while modernism is the exact opposite of it. Furthermore,

United Law Of Public International Law
Report to International Law First concerning the fear that the concept of state sovereignty in public
international law is frequently overlooked by politicians, the media and others. Introduction.
International Law First has asked for a report concerning the impact of public international law on the
concept of state sovereignty in the UK. This report will examine the limits that public international
law imposes on state sovereignty and the effect that this has on the balance of power within the UK
and internationally. This report will explain how state sovereignty is impacted by public international
law and the way in which public international law is incorporated into the UK s domestic law. A
conclusion will be reached as to the level of impact that public international law has on the UK s state
sovereignty and the necessity of this impact for the successful functioning of the UK within the
international community. Incorporation of public international law into UK domestic law. Unlike
many European states the UK operates a dualist approach to the incorporation of public international
law into domestic law. In dualist systems the ratification of international treaties by the government
does not have any effect on domestic law until the treaties are given effect by further legislation. In the
light of a dualist approach UK laws can only be created by Acts of Parliament. Furthermore, the
Constitutional Reform Act 2010 introduced legislation enabling Parliament to

Analysis Of Tabula Rasa By Robert Southey
What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice, and everything nice, that s what little girls, are made of.
What are little boys made of? Snips and snails, and puppy dog tails. That s what little boys are made
of . Author: English Poet Robert Southey (1774 1843).
Tabula rasa this is how the educationalist John Locke, (1632) believed children were born, with a
blank slate beginning their lives morally neutral. He also wrote that the little and almost insensible
impressions on our tender infancies have very important and lasting consequences. He argued that the
associations of ideas that one makes when young are more important than those made later because
they are the foundation of the self. Locke, (1632) also argued that because a baby s mind was so
malleable a parent could mould them with careful diligence. However Kohlberg (2004) was one of the
first theorists to address gender as a learned, cognitive concept. His thinking was influenced by Piaget,
who portrayed children as active learners who use interactions with their environment to construct an
understanding of the world around them (Piaget, 1961). Kohlberg believed that children s cognitive
understanding of gender influenced their behaviour (Kohlberg, 1981).
Walking into any new born infant s room you could almost certainly guess the gender of the baby just
from the colour of his or her clothes, blankets, and toys. Any infant surrounded by pink items is
virtually certain to be a girl, whereas a child

Racial Diversity In America
The United States is a nation full of immense ethnic and racial diversity. Ever since its formation,
social injustices have contradicted the values that its Constitution upholds. Anyone who studies U.S.
history will soon find that the rights of many groups of people were not won without extreme struggle.
The first blacks taken to the U.S. saw their status change from supposedly second class slaves to bona
fide citizens of American society, although the change was slow and wrought with trauma. All
immigrants and foreigners (aside from those elite founded the nation), experienced a painful transition
as they tried to mesh themselves into popular society. Asian Americans are just one of the many

In 1871, 19 Chinese immigrants were killed in Los Angeles during race riots which saw the desolation
of every Chinese owned building. In 1885 the Rock Spring Massacre occurred, in which 28 Chinese
miners were killed, a few more were injured and 75 homes were destroyed by white immigrant
miners. When confronted about the incident, the US Secretary of State blamed the victims, stating
they brought it on themselves by being different and inassimilable .
As if all these mockeries of the Constitution were not enough, during 1800 s to early 1950 s numerous
additional discriminatory laws were issued, such as the Alien Land Law which barred Asians from
owning land in three different states. This particular law was not repealed in Wyoming until 2001.

Sub Saharan African Countries Have Experienced Macro...
In recent years, sub Saharan African countries have experienced macro economic growth. The growth
rate per annum averaged 5.2% over the past decade between 2000 and 2011 (Kulundu, 2013). The
growth rate has outpaced Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe after being the slowest
growing region for many years. In Tanzania, the growth rate averaged 6.8% from 2005 to 2011. It was
ranked 1st in East Africa and 8th in sub Saharan Africa. In 2014 the GDP was expected to grow by
7.2% and continue growing at annual averaged rate of 7.7% in medium term (MOF, 2014). Ifzal et al
(2007) observed that, economic growth does not guarantee all people to benefit equally, because
growth itself is not sufficient for poverty reduction. If poor or marginalized people are left behind, it
will result in increase of income inequality (Ifzal et al 2007). Vijayakumar et al (2012) showed the
importance of economic growth by identifying its effect in the economy. It s observed that, if GDP
growth decreases by 1%, it might trap 20 million more people into poverty. Therefore, it is evident
that unstable growth will definitely have severe adverse impact on vulnerable groups of people in the
society. Furthermore high and increasing levels of inequality may reduce the effect on poverty
reduction resulting from a given rate of growth. Thus inequality has implications for social cohesion
and political stability required for growth sustainability. This has been studied in several research
works that have

The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst Essay
Have your parents ever told you that you needed to improve at something? It could be a sport,

causes conflict between Doodle and his older sibling because Doodle basically cannot do anything
without his brother, and if he is left, he becomes panicked.

  • 3. Theme Of Beatrice In Much Ado About Nothing Shakespeare established Beatrice s character in order to bring to the stage opposition to the typical woman of the Elizabethan era and shed light on gender inequality. Hero seems to be the optimal woman, polite, obedient, and quiet. She supports societies patriarchal views, submitting first to her father, who commands her to accept Claudio s hand when he proposes, and submissive to her new fiancé, even after he publicly humiliates her. Beatrice, on the other hand, is cynical, sharp, witty, and a feisty woman. A woman legitimately criticizing a man does not go with gender roles in this society, and therefore Leonato feels the need to cover it up, belittling and dismissing what Beatrice has to say her honest opinion of Benedick. The same issue seems to arise when Beatrice and Benedick banter back and forth. Beatrice takes jabs at Benedick s character, and unable to handle a woman insulting him, he gives up, or cops out. Beatrice stands out as a character in Much Ado about nothing because she is a proud, strong female character, rare during Shakespeare s time. She refuses to marry because she hasn t found a perfect equal partner and is unwilling to submit her control and freedom to a husband. She yearns to be equal with men, something that challenges the gender inequality of Elizabethan time. The way Shakespeare has the men view the women characters in Much Ado About Nothing also gives insight into Elizabethan gender equality as well. Throughout the play, women ... • 6. Difference Between Miscarriage And Ectopic Pregnancy Have you ever had an experience that changed your life in a blink of an eye? An experience so intense that it keeps replaying in your head? I m nineteen years old and in these days it s not shocking to hear young girls getting pregnant, but no matter what age, it s always hard to hear about any type of miscarriage. An ectopic pregnancy was what I had, and I m still recovering from it. 1 in 4 girls have an ectopic pregnancy, which is also called a tubal pregnancy. It is not considered a miscarriage, but it is considered to be in the same category as one. The difference between a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy is that with a miscarriage, the fetus is still growing but along the way something happens. An ectopic pregnancy (tubal pregnancy) is when the fetus is misplaced in a fallopian tube and the tube ruptures which can cause you to bleed out to death. This is very difficult to find since an ultrasound can t pick it up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I must not only punish, but punish with impunity. (Poe, 233) Some of Montresor s very first words when he is telling the story show that he wants revenge against Fortunato. By saying, I must not only punish, but punish with impunity, it is shown that he intends to get away with the deed he plans to commit. It must be understood that neither by word not deed had I given Fortunato cause to doubt my goodwill. I continued, as was my wont, to smile in his face, and he did not perceive that my smile now was at the thought of his immolation. (Poe, 234) By this point in the story, Montresor is clearly planning to kill Fortunato. While to Fortunato he appears friendly and cheerful, he is secretly thinking of ways to murder his friend. The majority of the time, we are unable to control what we crave; however, with practice, we learn not all things we want are necessary. As a result of this mature understanding, we are able to ease our feelings and sometimes even suppress our desires. Something even more mature is understanding that when we give in to our desires, we become vulnerable. In a harsh, brutal world, vulnerability will not work to our advantage. In Christina Rossetti s Goblin Market, she writes about a sister who succumbs to her desire and pays dearly for it while the other sister resists her desires and receives the ultimate reward of her sister s ... Ray Bradbury, the author of the short story The Veldt , has been described as a mainstream fantasist of great brilliance by Richard Wollheim. Lydia and George have raised two children, Peter and Wendy, in an electronic house where they can have everything they ever wanted. Everything is done for them, replacing the need for real parents. However, there is one exceptional room that the children have become excessively attached to. This room is known as the nursery, a high tech room that converts into whatever the human mind can conjure up. The smell of hot grass was on it and the smell of a lion. There were drops of saliva on it, it had been chewed, and there were blood smears on both sides (Bradbury). Within the story, Bradbury uses foreshadowing shown through George s wallet found on the nursery ground. This wallet had been chewed and smeared with blood, foreshadowing that soon, George would face his death. A quote from another source is, Bradbury uses this technique to hint at the fate of George and Lydia Hadley. While the two are lying in bed, they hear screams coming from the nursery, and Lydia comments, Those screams they sound familiar. Later, the reader realizes that the screams sound familiar to Lydia because they are actually her screams and those of her husband (Ira Mark Milne). Another example of foreshadowing are the screams George and Lydia hear throughout the story. The screams are a result of Wendy and Peter conjuring up the death of their parents with their minds in the nursery. This ties to the theme because foreshadowing connects to the idea that technology takes reign in the lives of children. One last quote is, He bent and picked up a bloody scarf. This yours? (Bradbury). Once again, George discovers a sign of death within the nursery. The scarf gives an insight into the children s minds, which are filled with dark thoughts. It foreshadows death once again, however, this time the personal item belongs to Lydia, foreshadowing her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The femoral neck or intracapsular fracture occurs when the neck of the femur breaks and sometimes the ball may move out of it s place. This type of fracture happens more likely with athletes and performers. Over years there have been several methods orthopedists have used to fix femoral neck fractures. In 1931, Smith Petersen used internal fixation by reducing pain and pressure to the fractured parts followed by immobilization in a spica cast application. Until 1970 another widely spread method called the multiple pin fixation technique was introduced by another orthopedist. In this method the fracture fragments would heal with the insertion of Pugh nails and Richards screws. Both of these methods include a sliding fixation process where the fractured fragments rub against each other. The second type of hip fracture which is repaired more frequently is intertrochanteric hip fracture. The intertrochanteric hip fracture occurs slightly below the neck of the femur and the lesser trochanter. These fractures undergo a treatment that involves the insertion of AO proximal femoral or sliding plates, intramedullary nails, cannulated or dynamic hip screws, and/or rods to balance and protect the fractures. Without a clear understanding of the cause, the remedies may do more harm than good, innocents may be scapegoated, and valuable progress in financial tools may be lost. Worse, it will happen again. From a simple mathematical model of the underlying economics, I first predicted this crisis in July of 2004. Economic dynamic relating very low interest rates to the structure of the demand curve in the housing market made this outcome foreseeable, indeed inevitable. The current crisis had a mathematical cause. There isn t space here for full explanations; see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two central facts are these: for reasons we ll discuss, buyers buy a monthly payment, not a house price, and buyers buy as much house as they can afford. This brings us to the heart of the matter: mortgages that require no down payment, and only interest payments, alter the structure of the demand curve for real estate, in a way that is harmless enough when interest rates are high, but which drives a bubble at low interest rates. Specifically, they make housing prices inversely proportional to the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, house prices double. When those rates double, house prices are slashed in half. When interest rates are large, they are not likely to double or halve, but when interest rates are small, a small adjustment can be a big percentage change, and the danger of big swings in housing prices is appreciable, even inevitable. With no down payment, no amortization and closing costs folded into the loan, the only issue in affording a house is the monthly payment, which is the house price multiplied by the interest rate. If interest rates are cut in half, the house you can buy with a given monthly payment costs twice as much. But the same number of people with the same income distribution is competing for a fixed stock of housing. The house price is bid up until the new monthly payment at the new interest rate matches the old monthly payment at the old interest rate. The house price varies inversely ... As the demand for the lower rental costs rises, the vacancy rate or the supply decreased. As the number of available apartments increases, the supply curve shifts right. As the rental rate increases, the supply also increases. By leasing all 2,500 apartments, the rental rate will be pushed to $1,500. The demand curve begins to shift down as the rental rate and supply of apartments increase. If Goodlife increases their rental rate to the $1,500, the demand for the apartments will decrease. To reach the equilibrium Goodlife must decrease the rental rate to $1,050 and in so doing the number of demanded units and the number of supplied units will be equal. Even as a student of film, I tell stories inspired by song lyrics, for the words, rhythms, and instruments of rock music have impacted my life to an unimaginable extent. Whenever I edit video, the underscore is vital. When I write a script, there s a poetic sound, a lyricism to the dialogue. I would not even be here in Los Angeles if not for artists such as Courtney Love and Jared Leto, who cross boundaries between music and film. In particular, Jared Leto s career is something to behold. An award winning actor, director, musician, and pure artist, Leto epitomizes my creative values: never settle, and don t be afraid to be dedicated to whatever you want to do. Origins Born in Louisiana, Jared Leto attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia to pursue painting. However, he eventually dropped out and studied acting in NYC. He then transitioned to California to begin his career music ( Jared Leto: Biography ). His big break in acting came from the short lived, yet critically lauded TV series, My So Called Life (1994). Four years later, he became lead singer for his rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars. As the years progressed, Leto found success in both artistic avenues. Leto s last film of the 2000s, Mr. Nobody (2009), was met with critical accolades, but marked the beginning of his hiatus from film. In 2013, Leto returned in full swing with his supporting role in Dallas Buyer s Club (2013). A commercial and critical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The trial was over a Tennessee law that banned teaching evolution in public schools. The American Civil Liberties Union protested the law with teacher, John Scopes, who agreed to help. The trial of the century brought together two famous political enemies, William Jennings Bryan, who led the anti evolution crusade, and Clarence Darrow, who was known as the best criminal defense lawyer and evolution supporter. Understanding the book requires a semi vast knowledge of vocabulary and laws, and is clearly intended for an audience that has studied the subject of Christianity versus Evolution before. Larson starts out by describing the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin and why he thinks it is such a great piece of scientific literature, and describes how it greatly affected the Christian community because a large part of it went against the Bible. He then explains the ideas behind evolution and natural selection. Larson stated that evolution was the theory that current living species evolved from preexisting species (Larson 14). Next, he sets the background for the rest of his book by giving details of how the situation surrounding evolution arose, and how the two lawyers got involved in the case.. He sets the background for the court case by stating that the teaching of evolution was banned in the schools of Dayton, Tennessee and that John Scopes was being prosecuted for teaching it to the class he was substituting. Following his explanation of the basis on the case, he describes the differences between fundamentalism and modernism. He describes how one of the main causes of the pressure between them is an aftermath of World War I. Fundamentalism is following religion as stringently as possible, while modernism is the exact opposite of it. Furthermore, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. United Law Of Public International Law Report to International Law First concerning the fear that the concept of state sovereignty in public international law is frequently overlooked by politicians, the media and others. Introduction. International Law First has asked for a report concerning the impact of public international law on the concept of state sovereignty in the UK. This report will examine the limits that public international law imposes on state sovereignty and the effect that this has on the balance of power within the UK and internationally. This report will explain how state sovereignty is impacted by public international law and the way in which public international law is incorporated into the UK s domestic law. A conclusion will be reached as to the level of impact that public international law has on the UK s state sovereignty and the necessity of this impact for the successful functioning of the UK within the international community. Incorporation of public international law into UK domestic law. Unlike many European states the UK operates a dualist approach to the incorporation of public international law into domestic law. In dualist systems the ratification of international treaties by the government does not have any effect on domestic law until the treaties are given effect by further legislation. In the light of a dualist approach UK laws can only be created by Acts of Parliament. Furthermore, the Constitutional Reform Act 2010 introduced legislation enabling Parliament to ... • 35. Analysis Of Tabula Rasa By Robert Southey What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice, and everything nice, that s what little girls, are made of. What are little boys made of? Snips and snails, and puppy dog tails. That s what little boys are made of . Author: English Poet Robert Southey (1774 1843). Tabula rasa this is how the educationalist John Locke, (1632) believed children were born, with a blank slate beginning their lives morally neutral. He also wrote that the little and almost insensible impressions on our tender infancies have very important and lasting consequences. He argued that the associations of ideas that one makes when young are more important than those made later because they are the foundation of the self. Locke, (1632) also argued that because a baby s mind was so malleable a parent could mould them with careful diligence. However Kohlberg (2004) was one of the first theorists to address gender as a learned, cognitive concept. His thinking was influenced by Piaget, who portrayed children as active learners who use interactions with their environment to construct an understanding of the world around them (Piaget, 1961). Kohlberg believed that children s cognitive understanding of gender influenced their behaviour (Kohlberg, 1981). Walking into any new born infant s room you could almost certainly guess the gender of the baby just from the colour of his or her clothes, blankets, and toys. Any infant surrounded by pink items is virtually certain to be a girl, whereas a child ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Racial Diversity In America The United States is a nation full of immense ethnic and racial diversity. Ever since its formation, social injustices have contradicted the values that its Constitution upholds. Anyone who studies U.S. history will soon find that the rights of many groups of people were not won without extreme struggle. The first blacks taken to the U.S. saw their status change from supposedly second class slaves to bona fide citizens of American society, although the change was slow and wrought with trauma. All immigrants and foreigners (aside from those elite founded the nation), experienced a painful transition as they tried to mesh themselves into popular society. When confronted about the incident, the US Secretary of State blamed the victims, stating they brought it on themselves by being different and inassimilable . As if all these mockeries of the Constitution were not enough, during 1800 s to early 1950 s numerous additional discriminatory laws were issued, such as the Alien Land Law which barred Asians from owning land in three different states. This particular law was not repealed in Wyoming until 2001. Children of Asian descent were also segregated in schools before Brown v. Board of Education outlawed such actions. ... • 38. Sub Saharan African Countries Have Experienced Macro... In recent years, sub Saharan African countries have experienced macro economic growth. The growth rate per annum averaged 5.2% over the past decade between 2000 and 2011 (Kulundu, 2013). The growth rate has outpaced Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe after being the slowest growing region for many years. In Tanzania, the growth rate averaged 6.8% from 2005 to 2011. It was ranked 1st in East Africa and 8th in sub Saharan Africa. In 2014 the GDP was expected to grow by 7.2% and continue growing at annual averaged rate of 7.7% in medium term (MOF, 2014). Ifzal et al (2007) observed that, economic growth does not guarantee all people to benefit equally, because growth itself is not sufficient for poverty reduction. If poor or marginalized people are left behind, it will result in increase of income inequality (Ifzal et al 2007). Vijayakumar et al (2012) showed the importance of economic growth by identifying its effect in the economy. It s observed that, if GDP growth decreases by 1%, it might trap 20 million more people into poverty. Therefore, it is evident that unstable growth will definitely have severe adverse impact on vulnerable groups of people in the society. Furthermore high and increasing levels of inequality may reduce the effect on poverty reduction resulting from a given rate of growth. Thus inequality has implications for social cohesion and political stability required for growth sustainability. This has been studied in several research works that have ... • 41. The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst Essay Have your parents ever told you that you needed to improve at something? It could be a sport, activities, or even how well you do in school. This is a vile thing for parents to do to their children. Sometimes parents just need to back up a few steps and let you be yourself. The same can happen with an older sibling! That is the case in The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst. The narrator of this story has a younger brother called Doodle, who has some health issues. Big brother pushes little brother to be better than he is. In The Scarlet Ibis, Doodle strives for the goals that his brother sets for him for many reasons, which reflects the conflict in the story. The brother s criteria for being normal is very precise, as Doodle is expected to be indomitable. This creates conflict between Doodle and society, which is external conflict. Finally, in The Scarlet Ibis, Doodle strives for these objectives because he is dependent on his brother. Perhaps he is even scared that if he doesn t do what his brother asks, then he will no longer have help from him. This is supported when they are in the loft and the narrator says, And before I ll help you down from the loft, you re going to have to touch it. (Page 387). He is threatening to leave Doodle up in the loft, all alone, until he touches the mahogany box which was to be his coffin. Doodle becomes very frightened by this intimidation, which is probably the cause of his fear later in the story. This causes conflict between Doodle and his older sibling because Doodle basically cannot do anything without his brother, and if he is left, he becomes panicked. Obviously, in The Scarlet Ibis, Doodle has many reasons to strive for the targets set by his brother, even though he does not have a competitive nature. One reason is that he wants to make his brother proud, which causes internal conflict for the narrator. Also, he wants to be an ordinary boy and fit in, which creates a fray between Doodle and humanity. Lastly, he is dependent on his brother and fears that he might be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
