What Is My Best Vacation Essay
The best trip I have ever went on was when I went on my family vacation to Orlando, Florida. We
went as a huge family, as in my dad s side of the family, I went with my grandma my grandpa my aunt
and uncle my two cousins my mom and my dad and my two sisters and a brother, only to meet up with
more family. We had went in the middle of June and were going for a week, we took a plane there and
back and stayed at a hotel for a day or two. My family and I went up to Orlando for a couple days and
then we drove to Miami, Florida to see my cousins because they used to live up in Miami. When my
family and I first arrived we went to our hotel and got all situated, it was dark out and we were hungry
so we decided to go to one of the most popular restaurants, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

By this time the cousins we were waiting all day to see were sleeping and my aunt came down and got
us all set up and ready for the next week in Miami.
The next morning we were sleeping in because we were so terribly tired, but our cousins woke us up.
And we havn t seen them in four years since that trip and there my best friends. We spent our first day
swimming and getting used to each other, for the rest of the days we were signed up for beach camp
with our cousins, that s where you would surf and swim and tube and see new animals and learn
spanish and meet new friends. And then after that we would swim more and fish and take pictures. My
favorite part of the trip was going to my first NBA game. It was the highlight because I got to meet the
teammates from Miami Heat and we were part of the family room so we got to eat fancy food and
play basketball and just have fun. The funniest part of that night was I was walking by the court and
they were announcing the player and I was standing on this circle and all of a sudden flame is shooting
out behind and I look down and I was like oh, shoot and jumped off of it before it went up in flames, It
was very scary. That was the best trip I went on, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I

Essay on Margaret Thatcher s Climb to Power of Prime Minister
Margaret Thatcher as Margaret Hilda Roberts was born October 13, 1925 in Grantham, England to
Alfred Roberts, a grocer, preacher, and local mayor, and Beatrice Ethel. She, along with her younger
sister, Muriel, spent most of their childhood in Grantham, helping with their father s grocery business.
Margaret s father was active in local politics and brought up Margaret and Muriel as strict Methodists.
He became Mayor of Grantham in 1945, but lost his position as alderman in 1952, when the Labor
Party came into power. Margaret won a scholarship to Kesteven and Grantham Girls School, where
she was head girl for the academic year 1942 1943. Her school reports showed academic consistency
and brilliance in many extracurricular activities. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1970, Margaret Thatcher, as the Minister for Education, encouraged an increase in the education
budget and the creation of more schools. However, her tryst with infamy began when she earned the
title Thatcher, the Milk Snatcher when she abolished a scheme providing free milk to primary school
children during school hours. Margaret attracted a lot of negative publicity for her impetuous actions.
Due to frustration with then Prime Minister Edward Heath and his contrasting ideas, she ironically
announced, I don t think there will be a woman prime minister in my lifetime in 1973. On October 12,
1984 the Irish Republican Army planted a bomb in the hotel Thatcher was staying at in an attempt to
assassinate her. In 1974, the Conservative Party lost their power and Margaret soon became a
dominant extortion in her political field. She was elected as leader of the Conservative Party in 1975,
victoriously beating Edward Heath and became the first woman to serve as the opposition leader in the
House of Commons, succeeding 130 votes against 119. Thatcher was finally appointed as the Prime
Minister on May 4, 1979, defeating the opposition party which was unpopular and separated. In 1979,
Britain s economy was in a critical financial crisis and Thatcher s first term in office saw her adopting
a new economic approach known as Monetarism .During this

Eating Disorders In Adolescent Girls
Introduction of Eating Disorders
Eating disorders, a range of psychological disorders characterized by abnormal or disturbed eating
habits is a growing problem. The three most common eating disorders are Anorexia Nervosa, Binge
Eating Disorder, and Bulimia Nervosa. Eating disorders currently affect 25 million Americans.
(allianceforeatingdisordes.com) Children under 12 who were hospitalized for an eating disorder
increased by 119% between 1999 and 2006 (Fox News). While males are affected by eating disorders,
75% of people affected are female. One group of the population that is largely affected are teenage
girls. I chose to research the topic of eating disorders in adolescent girls because I became concerned
when I met someone struggling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This type of disorder affects mostly adolescent girls who are completely aware of their change of
eating habits, have an extreme fear of ever being fat, and are overly unhappy with the way there body
is shaped. Bulimia first starts with frequent eating episodes with mass amounts of food, with the lack
of control to stop, (binging). After binging, some will even result in taking types of medications in
order to prevent any type of weight gain. Furthermore, when attempting to hold off the weight using
laxatives or self induced vomiting it s known as the purging type. People who excessively exercise or
try to restrict any type of weight gain are known as the non purging type. Purging is usually kept a
secret due to the shame and insecurities that follow. Also, most people that are diagnosed with Bulimia
also have the same symptoms as someone who has Anorexia Nervosa. However, unlike Anorexia,
people with this disorder are more than likely able to maintain a normal weight, sometimes even
underweight, but see themselves as overweight or even heavier than what they actually are. Statistics
show that 64% of individuals with bulimia have a near normal body weight (Alliance for eating
disorders). Most people do not know that purging does not eliminate all of the calories ingested.

Culture And Subcultures Of Fashion
If you look online, there are millions of pictures of Harajuku style. Guys and girls dressing up
androgynously, or wearing the most bizzare pieces of clothing ranging from sky high platforms to
mixing unlikely prints together. Some even wear their hair and makeup in the most avant garde way.
Japan for a while has been displaying fashion that intrigues us and influences us in many ways and
what people don t know is that of these fashions there are different communities and subcultures of
fashion that these people in the pictures conform to. Japan has a vast array of street fashion styles and
trends. They are all mixed with elements of traditional, foreign and/or local styles. Their street fashion
cultures vary from the tan skinned Ganguro girls to the victorian styled Lolitas. One of the most
popular and biggest Japanese fashion influencers were the high school girls of Kogyaru. What exactly
did these schoolgirls do to become one of the biggest trendsetters of Japan? The answers are within
their signature style, Japan s popular magazines, and ability to popularize certain products.
Kogyaru style was started by and became very popular among high school girls. That s what the name
literally means: ko means little but it could also stand for high school and gyaru means girl. To
achieve their style you must have a high school outfit with the pleated skirts hitched up to alarming
heights according to Richard Lloyd Parry from the Independent (Parry, par.2). Their school

Animal Rights Against Animals
magine eating a delicious piece of bacon with the fat juice dripping off while biting into the bacon, it
crunches. Now imagine the pig that the bacon came from. An innocent creature now has been shocked
with electric prods, had its throat cut, and has bled out to death. Pigs are not the only creatures to
suffer such a despicable death. Animals like sheep, cows, chickens, and goats are slaughtered for their
meat. The animals are all butchered in a place called a slaughterhouse. Slaughterhouses are horrible
places where humans believe they have the right to treat animals any way they want as long as they
get the meat they need. People who eat meat need to understand what happens to an animal before it
winds up on a plate.Animals can not defend themselves against humans. Therefore, someone else
must defend the animals. Slaughterhouses must be stopped.
Slaughterhouses are the cheapest ways for humans to get meat. Rather than paying large sums of
money to put the animals down humanely, they are just murdered. Animals are separated in
slaughterhouses from their families after being with them for weeks. Imagine one never getting to
know his mother, then being ripped away from their child, while trying to manage to survive.Animals

Magnesium Ribbon Lab
In order to conduct the experiment, one must determine the volume of one mole of hydrogen gas at
STP. First, a eudiometer tube was placed in an enamel pan, ⅔ filled with water, with its open end
upwards, made sure that the tube is clamped to the ring stand and clamp. Next, the length of the
sample of magnesium ribbon given was measured and recorded it. The sample of magnesium ribbon
was slightly bent in order to make it fit in the eudiometer tube, while making sure the sample of
magnesium ribbon did not break in the process. Afterwards, a piece of thread was tied to the sample of
magnesium ribbon at the bend. Then, about 20 mL of hydrochloric acid was measured using a

Table #1 shows that the length of the sample of magnesium ribbon given was 1.67 cm (to 3 significant
numbers), the barometric pressure (total pressure) was 95.81 kPa, the room temperature was 24.9 °C,
and the measured gas volume converted from 24.72 mL to L was 0.02472 L. Then, the pressure of H2
was found by using Dalton s Law of Partial Pressure, using the equation Ptotal = PH2+ PH20., found
on Table #2 Part A. The pressure of H2O, 4 kPa, was determined by using Table H Vapor Pressure of
Four Liquids on the Reference Table for Chemistry. Then, the pressure of H2O, 4 kPa, was subtracted
from the total pressure, 95.81 kPa, to find the pressure of H2, 91.81 kPa. Next the mass of the sample
of magnesium was found, shown on Table #2 Part B, given that the mass of Mg = 0.0100 g/cm. It was
calculated that the mass of Mg per length found was 0.0167 g. Afterwards, the mass of Mg was
converted to moles, using 3 significant numbers, shown in Table #2 Part C. The calculations shows
that the number of moles of Mg found was 0.000687. Next, the mole ratio of Mg to H2 produced was
determined by writing a balanced equation for the reaction, found on Table #2 Part D. The mole ratio
of Mg to H2 produced was 1:1. Then, the number of moles of H2 produced (using 3 significant
numbers) was found by using stoichiometry, shown on Table #2 Part E. The number of moles of H2

The Shortcomings of the Articles of Confederation
The years following the American Revolution, better known as the Critical Period, were some of the
most vulnerable moments in the extensive history of the United States. The Critical Period is infamous
for a post war recession, disorganization and competition of states, as well as a total lack of unity
about the nation. The Articles of Confederation, ratified during the onset of this tumultuous period,
added new dimension to early Americans idea of national government. The Articles formed a loosely
united country under a highly restricted federal government. This apparent aversion of strong central
government was rooted in the former colonists fear of a sequel to their monarchial horror that was
England. Some believe that the Articles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Five years earlier, in a letter from the Rhode Island Assembly to Congress the assembly concluded
that taxation on imported goods creates inequality between the commercial and the agrarian societies
of America (Document 1). The Rhode Island Assembly brings up the idea that state governments were
allowed to tax freely without congressional regulation, while Congress posed to levy importation taxes
geared towards the Northern, more commercial part of America. This letter speaks to the injustices of
taxation, and taxation was the main reason for Shays s Rebellion. Shays s Rebellion caused that unjust
and disorganized means of taxation further exemplifies the failure that was the Articles of
Confederation. The final reason why the Articles of Confederation created an ineffective government
is inadequate foreign affairs. Prior to the revolution, the thirteen colonies were not united as they did
not need to be they were all there for the purpose and betterment of Great Britain. As the colonists
won their independence, almost every state began producing a different type of currency, untracked
and unregulated by the new federal government. This total disunity left the states in competition over
exports with one another. This competition left the country as a whole weak, and other countries
perception of us the same. In the table that compares the value of exports to Great Britain to the
population of the nation displays

The Influence Of Sleep On The Brain
Sleep is vital to give the cerebral cortex (the brain s thinking part) a rest. When we re in a deep sleep,
rapid eye movement (REM) occurs when your eyes move rapidly up for 30 minutes at a time, it
continues every 90 minutes. Most of our dreaming happens during REM and our eyes moving
forcefully, our bodies are very relaxed and that s what make us continue to sleep. One of the most
recent and compelling explanations for why we sleep is based on findings that sleep is correlated to
changes in the structure and organization of the brain. this phenomenon, known as brain plasticity, is

Oxidative Coupling Of Alkyne Lab Report
Oxidative coupling of alkynes using the Glaser Eglinton Hay reaction
CH203 02
Fadwa Mekkaoui
Introduction/Procedure:
Oxidative coupling of alkynes is a method in which an oxidizing agent is used to eliminate a hydrogen
from an alkene, causing a carbon carbon bond to be made. A catalyst is used in order to speed up a
reaction by lowering the activation energy. The solvent used is 2 proponal and a chelating reagent,
tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA), is used to help CuCl dissolve in solvent. The experiment uses
techniques such as recrystallization, TLC, and infrared spectroscopy. This experiment is incredibly
green, since air is used as an oxygen resource and has no cost. CuCl is used a catalyst and a green
solvent, 2 propanol, is also used as a reaction medium which is a greener solvent.

the color went from a navy to a light blue with a tint of green. When the temperature was around 100
degrees it became a bright electric green and was shortly after filtered through vacuum filtration. The
crystals had a slightly green tint until they were properly washed with distilled water. A TLC was run
using the starting material and rxn. The product was massed and a melting point was determined. The
range for the meting point was given to be (174° 176°C) and the value obtained for the product was a
melting point of 177°C. This proved that our product was rather pure since it is one degree outside the
range. Errors could have occurred when measuring out the proper amount of CuCl or not washing the

The Australian Media Is An Available And Reliable...
The Australian media is generally considered to be an available and reliable information source for
Australian society. The media therefore has a strong influence over the information of social and
individual opinions. Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their home because of war,
natural disasters or persecution. The media represents this category of people using a narrow group of
information, presenting a particular skew of opinion, which is passed onto the individuals who place
trust in these sources. Through the media interpreting the typical Australian, generally not showing the
reality of immigrants it allows society to disregard refugees or asylum seekers as they do not fit this
ideal Australian. This ideology of the Australian has caused a history of social categorization and
discrimination, often based in a racial or religious difference between the British Australian settlers,
and a variety of groups, including: the Indigenous community, Chinese gold rush settlers, and
Mediterranean immigrants. Recently, these social categorizations have been strongly targeted toward
those seeking asylum on Australia s shores. The rapid evolution of technology and the media has
caused dramatic changes in the way that society, and the individuals within it have understood and
approached these issues.
The media in its news form is considered to be a highly trusted source of information. This gives them
a huge influence over Australia s views over certain topics.

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Plate Heat...
Plate Heat Exchangers Design and Advantages
Plate heat exchangers are clearly sorts of warmth exchangers. It capacities by exchanging the warmth
starting with one liquid then onto the next through the utilization of metal plates. Contrasting it and
traditional warmth exchangers, these ones are supported particularly in light of the fact that the liquids
deal with bigger surface zones and are equipped for scattering to the metal plates. Basically, the
methodology empowers appropriate assistance of warmth exchange as it velocities up the adjustments
in temperature happening amid the procedure.
Knowing more about the idea of plate warmth exchangers includes taking a gander at the
configuration of the device and in addition separating the focal points from its inconveniences.
Fundamentally, a warmth exchanger uses channels to cool or warm a liquid through the procedure of
exchanging it to another liquid. The funnels dividers are frequently made either out of metal or
different substances known not of high warm conduction abilities. This is to guarantee that the
exchange of warmth starting with one liquid then onto the next will be legitimately encouraged.

The Importance Of Violence In Schools
When it comes to violence in schools, it s nothing new. Every day, the news media covers a story over
violence happening in school. My views over violence in school is there needs to be better protection.
The safety in schools is important because the kids in school is our future. They are our future
engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc., and if they don t have the protection they need, the kids in school can
t learn. A couple suggestions to make the schools safer are practice the A.L.I.C.E. more than once, go
over what to do when an intruder is in the building, and how to protect themselves and the people
around them.
A way for the schools to be safer is to practice the A.L.I.C.E. A.L.I.C.E. stands for Alert, Lockdown,
Inform, Counter, and Evacuate (Eells). It s effective to practice it because the kids and teachers have a
chance to practice how to protect themselves during a real life events. School intruder situations can
last anywhere between five to seven minutes (Eells). When the school is alerted that they are on
lockdown, teachers are advised to use plain and simple language. They are advised to use plain and
simple language because it won t confuse the children and they can escape quicker. If the class can t
escape through the windows or through the doors, the school urges them to barricade and lockdown
the classroom. Barricading the classroom may include moving file cabinets to the door, shoving desks
against the door also, and covering all windows. After lockdown,

DM74LS47 BCD to 7 Segment Decoder/Driver with Open Collector Outputs
General Description
The DM74LS47 accepts four lines of BCD (8421) input data, generates their complements internally
and decodes the data with seven AND/OR gates having open collector outputs to drive indicator
segments directly. Each segment output is guaranteed to sink 24 mA in the ON (LOW) state and
withstand 15V in the OFF (HIGH) state with a maximum leakage current of 250 µA. Auxiliary inputs
provided blanking, lamp test and cascadable zero suppression functions.

The internal NAND gate that generates the RBO signal has a resistive pull up, as opposed to a totem
pole, and thus BI/ RBO can be forced LOW by external means, using wiredcollector logic. A LOW
signal thus applied to BI/RBO turns off all segment outputs. This blanking feature can be used to
control display intensity by varying the duty cycle of the blanking signal. A LOW signal applied to LT
turns on all segment outputs, provided that BI/RBO is not forced LOW.

Blackwell was settled first in 1811 by Enoch Blackwell, Sr.
Blackwells, as it was known on the early maps, became a busy center for railroading and lumbering
over the years. There are many remnants here of the railroad days.
On the north side of Blackwell, off Blackwell Square, is the original Blackwell church.
Then and now pictures are eerily similar.
(The original picture is in the Darling Run station museum) The Methodist Episcopal Church of
Blackwells was erected in 1892. Here it is now.
(This old photo of Blackwell is courtesy of David Ira Kagan, Pine Creek Villages, Arcadia Publishing)
The old Railroad House was built in 1884 and later became the Barton House hotel building which
still stands next to the rail trail. It can barely be seen in the background in the picture on the previous
page. It was originally a boarding home for railway workers. It also housed a general store and post
office for a time. The Old Barton House Hotel now.
Blackwell is home to a few year round residents and some seasonal camps. The store here is a fine
place to stop for snacks and ice cream. It s just off the trail as the trail crosses Route 414. It is the only
place we can stock up on bottled water as we head south.
To our right, at Blackwell is the Robert McCullough, Jr. boating and fishing access point. It is not
technically a biking access point. The biking access point

Pros And Cons To Legalize The Possession Of Marijuana
My position in this debate panel is to legalize the possession of marijuana. The liberal s stance is that
they want to legalize, regulate and restrict the access of marijuana. To many young Canadians end up
with criminal records for possessing small amounts of drugs ,which then is costly to the criminal
justice system and the young offender is caught in the criminal system for minor, nonviolent crimes.
They want to focus on keeping this drug out of the hands of children by implementing specific
locations to distribute this drug. The government is trying to shift the sells from the black market and
keeping the profits of out the hands of the criminals. There are going to be changes within the law,

Mentoring in the Workplace
Executive Summary Some major business executives may say that earlier in their career they
established a mentor relationship that helped them to get to where they are in their career. Research
has shown that this statement can be true for some executives but not for all. Some experts believe that
just having mentor relationships can or cannot affect someone s career path and development. The
purpose of this paper is to explain exactly what mentoring is and how it successful works within the
workplace environment. Using support from various scholarly articles, I was able to discuss define the
concept of mentoring and how it relates within the workplace setting. Using this concept, I establish
the role of the mentor and mentee in regards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Communication is key at the beginning of the relationship, mentees have to express to their mentors
their needs, future goals, and the kind of help they want from the mentoring relationship (Moore,
Miller, Pitchford Jeng 2008, p.78). Mentees should not be consumed with having the perfect mentor,
but should use their energy to invest in the mentoring relationship, and give it time to grow and
develop where trust and respect are one in the same (Janasz, Sullivan, Whiting, 2003, p. 84). Mentors
and mentees should establish a structure to their relationship in order for both parties to achieve
something out of it.
Establishment of Mentoring Relationships When a company establishes a corporate mentoring
program there are some factors that have to be considered. There has to be an understanding of the
organizational dynamics, and use these dynamics to create strategy, process, and programs for the
mentoring relationships (Friday Friday, 2002, p.154) The purpose of having a strategy for corporate
mentoring is to have it align with the objectives and long term goals of the organization. Without an
efficient strategy in place there cannot be a process or programs established. Once a mentoring
program is established, the organization should decide what type of mentoring relationship they want
to institute. There are two types of mentoring relationships, informal and formal. An informal
mentoring relationship is one that is not created

Post Conquest Mexico Essay
In 1521, the fall of Tenochtitlan proved to be an integral piece in the Spanish conquest of Mexico.
After months of devastating warfare between the Aztecs and the Spanish as well as the infection of
smallpox into the Aztec population, the Spanish conquered New Spain (Mexico) as their own,
resulting in the Spanish occupation and rebuilding of Tenochtitlan. The reshaping of the city was an
arduous and complex feat to say the least, as Hernan Cortés faced many challenges following the
satisfying victory of the conquest. In order to determine these various challenges involved in post
conquest Mexico, one must assess the various feats Cortés struggled through as well as Carlos I s
attempts to deal with the chaos in Mexico. The most decisive endeavours that the Spaniards faced
included: fixing a city of ruins, incorporating the indigenous peoples into society, and creating a
Christian basis throughout the land. Thus, post conquest Mexico faced a magnitude of challenges
based on the socio political, religious, and economic values necessary to conceive their perfect image

The significance in solving the problems of rebuilding Tenochtitlan, bringing the natives into the
Spanish homelands, and creating a Christian society in New Spain were integral to the initial success
of the Spanish colonies. Cortés and Carlos I were key players in the promotion of the goals of the
Spanish empire in creating a New Spain that is admired among the Spanish people. Overall, the chaos
and lack of order among the initial framework of New Spain was easily overcome as the communal
effort of the Spaniards led to the creation of their empire through rebuilding a city from ruins after the
conquests. In closing, Cortés was a great leader in the conquest of Mexico and hurdled over the many
obstacles facing New Spain for the good of the

Cole And Peter Quotes
When Cole and Peter came back from the island, they weren t able to follow their rituals. If I were in
their situation I would have tried staying in a quiet room in my house to clear out my mind, sit in a
bathtub with cold water for the pond, and listen to music for rolling the ancestor rock. The new rituals
that they tried were sitting in a freezer for soaking, carried bowling balls for the ancestor rock, and sat
at a park to become invisible. These rituals did work because Cole never went back to jail and Peter
didn t have ideas to commit suicide. For clearing out my mind and trying to become invisible, I would
have sat in my room where it is quiet. Cole and Peter use to sit in the park and close their eyes to
become invisible. One quote from the book is Reaching the park, they picked a comfortable patch of
grass under a big Norway pine . I would have tried this ritual, because I wouldn t want anybody
watching what I am doing. I would have felt more comfortable with a place where I know that I could

seeing if it s appropriate at that time.

During any crisis, it is important to know where to start because
if a professional is tempting to use the de escalation process and the client is not stable enough, then it
could cause more harm than good. A professional including a police officer or counselor needs to
know the client before getting in depth in a crisis. For example, if a police officer is tempting to use
the de escalation method on a individual, and they do not know the client then the client is not gonna

Comparing Faustian Legends In Washington Irving s The...
Faustian legends are common in many countries. The Devil and Tom Walker by Washington Irving
and The Devil and Daniel Webster by Stephen Vincent Benet bring the idea of making a deal with the
devil, and the repercussions of that deal, to American Literature. Each author writes a folktale with
uniquely American characters. The similarities and differences in both short stories depict the
philosophy of American culture. Because both short stories are folktales, the reader notices many
common elements. One common element that is shared by both short stories is the that the readers can
infer through their writing that both authors do not respect the way that the settlers treated the Native
Americans. This can be seen in Washington Irving s

Postural stress that mostly comes from the areas of your shoulders and neck is prone to happening

This was a very important time for Lands End as very key changes were being made in the

addition edition of shirts in the following year. This was done to take advantage of the web based
service it was already providing and to make more efficient and profitable sales. This helped an
increase in sales of 40% as compared to previous years and what was interesting to note that at that
time, none of the company s competitor were offering this service, showing that technology was

Therefore it was hard to believe that Lands End could maintain its competitive advantage through just
use of superior technology. Maturing growth in the USA and abroad had forced the company to reduce
its number of catalog pages and mail fewer books. Lands End was reaching logical limitations of what
the catalog could do for them
The last key issue was the company s decision to be acquired by Sears at $1.9 billion where it had the
exclusive right to sell Lands End product in its retail stores. This new horizontal integration had left a
big question on whether Lands End will be able to earn profits under this new organization and
whether any conflict will arise with this new establishment. At that time the company was facing
declining sales in catalogs and already was in talks with Sears in the previous years believing that the
retail stores would be a key addition to the platform for selling its products. The retail stores would be
used to showcase the Lands End products and if any product found unsatisfactory through catalog and
online purchase could be returned through these stores as well. There were a number of key decisions
that were needed to be made in order to ensure a successful future of Lands End. The first was that
should Lands End continues to partner with ASI as they had started providing similar services to
Lands End competitor and helping them achieve a much cheaper and better product. Currently ASI

Lord Of The Flies Jack Is A Leader Analysis
A powerful leader is one who knows how to lead with control and has strong leader characteristics. In
the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, some readers support the fact that Jack was a better
leader than Ralph, but others feel that Ralph was the better leader. Although several supporters feel
that Ralph is the best leader, it is evident that Jack is the better leader since he can effortlessly control
the group on the island.
It is clear that Jack is a better leader than Ralph because he is more of a demanding, manipulative
person. From the time the boys landed on the island, Jack was in control of the choir. The other boys,
led by Jack, run off in disorganized excitement to light the signal fire (Reilly, 3). This quote shows that
the boys followed in Jack s footsteps since they set foot on the island. Along with controlling the
choir, Jack challenged Ralph s opinions. We do not need the conch anymore. We know who ought to
say things (Reilly, 4). This quote demonstrates that Jack is making an attempt to control the group by
doing what is best for him, and he demands that the boys support his decisions. In addition, Jack s
main priority was to hunt and give them what they want. The point is that Jack is doing what he wants,
not what he ought (Reilly, 5). This quote illustrates that Jack is aware that he is the leader of the group,
for he is doing what he wants and not what he has to. Clearly, it is evident that Jack is the best choice

The Theory Of Corporate Social Responsibility
Historical background of the development of CSR is almost as important as the ongoing discussion on
what CSR is and how and where it should operate. Many scholars argue that these are not
interchangeable and need to be assessed in conjunction with each other. For purposes of this paper it is
pivotal to look into the past to see what stood behind the broadening of companies accountability
beyond the standard agency theory (limited liability of shareholders for the company s violations or
breach and the company s main accountability being towards its shareholders and investors only) to
the stakeholder theory (company s accountability towards a broad range of stakeholders, including
employees, environment and local communities). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This at the time was widely opposed by proponents of corporate isolation as a highly irrelevant
research topic that went in no parallel or connection with the idea of a corporate veil, charter
accountability and the sole purpose of any company to bring profits to its shareholders. This reverts us
back to the development of a stakeholder theory that gradually gained its speed in the 1970s . It soon
found its implementation in Freeman s management discipline , who promoted the expansion of firms
accountability towards a broader range of stakeholders. One of the examples of how attitude towards
CSR by multinational corporations has changed was raised by Lee, when he reviewed corporate
governance codes and practices of Ford . He used two instances in the history of corporate actions of
Ford with an interval of 80 years in between them. Keeping in mind the abovementioned Clark s
remarks on corporate accountability back in 1916, this becomes even more educational, as it shows a
dramatic change in shareholders perception of their business as a service to the broader society. There,
in 1919 Ford was faced with a lawsuit, as a result of which it agreed to grant Dodge brothers their
request to receive maximum dividends . The respective court decision was an indirect ridicule of

Metal Plater and Cruddy Creek
From the data given of the measured amounts of cadmium given at each stations along Cruddy Creek,
there were extremely higher concentration levels, 430 mg/kg dry weight total of cadmium from
stations F, G, and H, upstream in comparison to a total combined amount of 315mg/kg dry weight of
cadmium from stations A, B, C, D, E, and the reference sites. Thus, the following locations have been
identified as potential sources responsible for the distribution of cadmium into Cruddy Creek; Atlas
Batteries, Metal Plater, and Pacific Coal Electric power plant due to their relevant histories and
proximities to the increased amounts of cadmium.
Atlas Batteries has been a part of Cruddy Creek since 1970. Their main objectives were lead acid
batteries recycling and now also recycling of nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries. They are a
potential source of cadmium contamination because of their methodology of disposal of sulfuric acid
via an open, unlined pit which allows for chemicals to seep into the sediments at a much faster and
easier rate. In addition, Atlas Batteries has a direct effluent discharge into Cruddy Creek that carries
contaminants of concern such as cadmium, nickel, lead, and zinc.
Metal Plater has a long history with Cruddy Creek since its operations began in 1930. Their focus is
on different types of electroplating. Due to the complex process of electroplating the waste products

Character Of Polonius In Hamlet
How significant is the character of Polonius in the play Hamlet .
In the play Hamlet the character Polonius is a courtier to the king Claudius. He is the epitome of
everything that Hamlet hates in the court of Denmark. Polonius s character is at many points in the
play is a comic character who contradicts himself constantly and finds incredibly long winded ways to
embellish his points. Shakespeare uses the persona of Polonius, as a satirical figure and as a foil, to
show what is wrong with the court of the time. Polonius is also the father of Laertes and Ophelia who
are integral to the final downfall of the Danish kingdom. The tensions that arise from the death of

His use of complex language to increase his intelligence is both farcical and comical in nature. The
most obvious example of this satirical self mockery in the play comes in Act two scene two Therefore,
since brevity is the soul of wit, And tediousness the limbs and outward flourishes, I will be brief. In
this single sentence Polonius proves to himself and the world that he his does not have the soul of wit
due to the fact that even though he is trying to talk about being short winded, Polonius cannot help
himself from embellishing his point and therefore showing that he cannot be brief. Polonius s inability
to use decisive and precise diction is a major factor in the animosity that grows between him and
Hamlet in the play and provides the basis for that particular subplot. However Polonius still manages
to make a mockery of himself when he interrupts a player claiming that the speech was too long . This
is an allusion in itself to the contradictory nature of the upper classes. Where one law applies to
everyone else and another to themselves, his clear lack of consistency is used by Shakespeare to

The Pros And Cons Of Bullying In School
What if you were terrified to go to your school every day? 160,000 students miss school everyday
because they get bullied and are scared of what will happen ( Bullying Statistics ). Bullying has been a
major problem in schools for too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is supposed
to be safe and where they can express themselves. Students that bully never get the punishment they
deserve which causes them to continue to act. When you go to school, you should know that if you are

Students who bully should be suspended from school.
The bullies in schools never think they will get severely punished, so they don t stop. They think that

The Importance Of Poverty In Education
Life in the Eyes of A Poor Child; A Light at the End of the Dark Tunnel
Where there is no struggle, there is no strength. Oprah Winfrey Oprah Winfrey displays a common
occurrence of struggle in the everyday life of each individual across the world. Struggle is a universal
obstacle everyone faces some more than others. While struggling may bring strength to some, the
hardship can take a toll on others. People all across America face some type of struggle whether it be
clearly seen or hidden underneath the surface. One of the main struggles that children in America face
today is poverty. Living in poverty can not only be detrimental to them everyday, but to their future.
Throughout history we have tried to redress this issue several ways. Rather than providing them with
handed out resources, people need to give poverty stricken children the tools to create a better life for
themselves. Childhood poverty in the United States can be ameliorated through education. 51% of
children in the United States are in poverty.(Huffington Post) This statistic displays that more than half
of the adolescents in the United States battle with the issue of poverty everyday. The number of
children facing this struggle continues to grow every year. These children due to their low economic
status set them in a disadvantaged position in their education. A child in poverty lags behind 18

The Unjust American Freedom
The Unjust Freedom The way the Americans gained independence may not be as valiant as it seems.
The war lacked just war criteria despite many arguments. The idea was foolish and unnecessary and
proved the lack of development amongst this young territory. Many factors lead to this premature
uprising and the French and Indian War is a great reason for most of those factors. The decision by the
American colonists to revolt against British rule was premature and overly aggressive. The American
plea for a Revolution did not meet the criteria of a just war. The factors for a just war are as follows:
probability of success, last resort, proportionate cause, comparative justice, competent authority, just
cause, and right intention (Keown American ). For a war to be just, the war must meet all of the
criteria for a just war. Though it s hard to name a war that met all of the just war criteria, it is just as
hard, if not harder to name a war that was justified. At the time, the probability of success would be
against the colonists. The British had the best navy in the world at the time and were a global
powerhouse (Keown American ). The fight was not a ʺlast resortʺ because independence had been
gained from Britain without raising arms (Keown ʺAmericanʺ). The colonists lacked proportionate
cause because the colonists already had financial issues and needed foreign mercenary aid to help
finance the fight (Keown ʺAmericanʺ). Transition There are various points that one could argue

Descartes Cogito It is the purpose of this essay to examine both Descartes Cogito argument and his

each other. First, I will summarize and explain the skepticism Descartes brings to bear on small and
universal elements in his first meditation. Second, I will summarize and explain the Cogito argument,

argument for his own existence). Third, I will critique the line of reasoning underlying these

Descartes attacks the possibility of certainty with regards to the existence of small and universal
elements with the possibility of our thoughts being altered by an omnipotent deceiver. In paragraph
nine, he states, How do I know that he did not bring it about that there be no Earth at all, no heavens,
no extended thing, no figure, no size, no place, and yet all these things should seem to me to exist
precisely as they appear to do now. His point is that this omnipotent evil deceiver could create in our
minds an understanding of mathematics and logic that is at odds with reality, causing us to construe
everything wrongly. Thus Descartes ends this final and devastating doubt with the preliminary
conclusion that everything he perceives can be called into doubt. Descartes answers his seemingly
hopeless skepticism from the first meditation with the Cogito. The basic point of his Cogito argument
is that for me to either perceive awry, or even to doubt my own existence, I must exist. It is, as
Descartes says, I am, I exist is necessarily true every time it is uttered by me or conceived in my mind

the Cogito through the notion of an omnipotent deceiver actually. He starts to question his own

Essay about The Cost Of Buying A Used Car
The Cost Of Buying A Used Car
This project has been put together to show the cost of buying and using a used car for one year. To
show the different costs for cars I have made a chart on a later page. First, though, It probably would
be good to tell a little about used cars.
Used cars are, for some, a good investment. The used car is good for cheap transportation, and fun.
Used cars also have many different uses besides just driving around. Some people buy used cars so
they can restore them, while other people buy used cars for their children to drive. While still others
get used cars for spare parts. The point is that used cars are good for many different people, for many

Do they think that it is in good driving condition? Do you think it is in good driving condition?
3. Look at the car s paint job. Is it what you would want? are there any rust spots, dings, or scratches?
4. Finally one must ask themself if the total car is what they wanted.
If there is any doubt then they might want to rethink whether they really want this car.
The chart below is a comparison of five cars each with a different set of options, price, and look.
Make Price Options 1986 Ford Taurus Wagon
$ 3,500 AC, AM/FM Cassette, PS 1969 VW Bug $ 2,000
Convertible, AM/FM Stereo, Dual Exhaust 1965 Pontiac GTO $ 8,500
Convertible, 4speed, PB,PS,New Top 1979 Mercedes benz450slc $11,000 Garaged,
51,000 mi. sunroof, AC, V8 1975 Ford Maverick $700 New Valve job,
3 speed Manual, Steel Wheels
Am Fm Cassette
As one can see from the chart above you cannot always judge a car from it s price. Now it is time to
calculate the price of using the car for one year using set values for gas and insurance.
The average gas consumption for these cars should be about three tanks of gas every two weeks. At 52
weeks a year we get 78 tanks of gas a year. Then we need to multiply by the amount it costs for a tank
of gas. In our case that gas is about $13.00 a tank. That comes to about $1014 dollars a year on gas.

Obstacles Of Phoenix Jackson In A Worn Path
Everyday people are faced with obstacles that stand in their way of where they are trying to go. This is
shown in the story, A Worn Path. Phoenix Jackson is the main character and she is an old, black
woman who resides in the countryside of Mississippi. She is on a journey to reach a town called
Natchez, so that she can get her grandson medicine. But, along the way she is faced with obstacles.
These obstacles do not stop her from where she is trying to go, because through all and all, love
inspires bravery. Through the many obstacles that Phoenix Jackson faced along her journey to town,
not once did she show fear or give up because she was on a mission, and that mission was inspired by
love. Phoenix Jackson is very old, small, and she uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He knocks her over, and a hunter comes to help her up. Even though the hunter is helpful, he is
somewhat threatening. He then drops a nickel in which Phoenix picks it up without him noticing.
Then he points a gun at her, and she stood straight and faced him when he did so. When he asked if
she was afraid of the gun, she replied, No, sir, I seen plenty go off closer by, in my day, and for less
than what I done (DiYanni). The hunter even replied that she is scared of nothing, and she goes on her
way. Her perception of these obstacles emphasizes her intense physical, mental, and moral effort to
complete this journey (Heller). Phoenix is brave physically because she had to climb over logs,
through thorn bushes, and a barbed wire fence. She is brave mentally, because she can stay calm while
in stressful situations like having a gun pointed to her face. She really cares about her grandson, and
that motivates her to stay strong for him and to make it through these rough

A Report Of The National Association Of Realtors ( U.s.
Introduction to the E Series
This is the forth book in the E Series How to Beat Your Competition Selling Real Estate to Foreign
Buyers. The E Series will eventually summarize All You Have to Know to successfully market and
sell real estate to international buyers.
Why would you need the real estate buyers from abroad?
All real estate is local as the old saying goes, but buyers are not! In today s internet times you can sell
goods, services and real estate to anybody in the world without borders. The 2015 report of the
National Association of Realtors (U.S.) states that 8% of all home sales across the country were
attributed to the foreign buyers; at the same time, according to the Florida Association of Realtors the
number of the international buyers was 21% of all the home sales in the state. Then California
followed with 16% of the foreign buyers. In some other countries and cities according to some internet
sources: 17% of all real estate buyers in Spain were coming from abroad, up to 60% in Greece, up to
85% (!) in London, England, etc.
The information provided in the E Series in general and in this e book How to Plan and Budget for
Success in International Property Sales in particular is highly useful for any real estate sellers in any
country who want to expand the buyers market for their residential or commercial properties all over
the world: From a private owner of a small condo or a historic mansion or a hotel for sale, to a realtor
offering just one

Music Programs In Schools
Music programs are not in all schools. (What percentages of schools have music programs?) Music
can help students in so many aspects of life, but schools aren t investing in the music program. (How
much on average is a music program cost?) All high schools need to have elective music programs in
order to see benefit their grade averages, to create career preparation, to build teamwork skills, and to
boost student participation in school. Schools are so focused on grade improvement and getting better
scores on state mandated tests each year that they are not taking the time to think about the benefit that
music programs could achieve in this aspect. It has been proven that music students score higher on
standardized tests than non music students. (What percentage?) (Where else, how else do we see grade
improvement?) (What is the average scores received?) Because of higher grades and classes offered in
a music program, students become more prepared to start a career. Music students become passionate

Teamwork is established by the need to blend together and be on time with each other, as well as the
director. If one is not correct in the timing, all will fall apart and phasing or ripples will happen. This
will cause things to sound or look horrendous. If someone is off pitch, it will be noticed, and the
audience will not enjoy that performance. (What more can I say about friendship?) There are also
many team building exercises that are done when training in order for a successful show. In marching
band when the drum majors are selected, they are sent to a camp for a week where they learn different
activities that can be done with their classmates to build that sense of teamwork even more. Not only
does this camp bring together the drum majors, it brings together the entire unit that performs on the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dentistry
Dentistry and Types of Oral Surgery: What You Need to Know
In dentistry, there are several conditions that may necessitate oral surgery, including the following:
1. Tooth Loss
In case of tooth loss due to an infection or accident, dentistry offers an option called dental implants
which make great alternatives to dentures and bridges. These are tooth root replacements that are
surgically secured in place in the jawbone. An ideal candidate for these implants must have suitable
bone density and level, should be willing to commit to a good oral hygiene and should not be prone to
infections.
2. Impacted Teeth
In dentistry, impacted teeth are also commonly referred to as third molars. They are the last of teeth to
develop. There are times when these teeth erupt from the gum line and the jaw is big enough to have
room for them; however, in most cases, one of these teeth is unable to erupt in proper alignment ...

majority of dental fillings were mainly composed of amalgam, gold or other substances that may leave
dark staining on the teeth.
Current Trends
Advancements in technology make today s dental techniques more predictable ad durable than in the
previous years. In addition to this, dentists are currently using more conservative procedures to
conserve as much of the natural tooth structure, based on the patient s particular clinical situation.
Dentists may also utilize advanced technology such as lasers to conduct certain procedures that are
needed for cosmetic treatments in their own clinics. This makes cosmetic dental techniques such as
smile enhancements more convenient and comfortable for patients. This also helps lessen the time
needed for recovery.

Contract law is defined as lawfully enforceable agreement between two or more people to a contract.
An agreement also known as a promise consists of an offer and an acceptance. An offer is defined as
indication of the terms upon which an individual is ready to be obligated. On the other hand, an

Margaret attracted a lot of negative publicity for her impetuous actions. Due to frustration with then Prime Minister Edward Heath and his contrasting ideas, she ironically announced, I don t think there will be a woman prime minister in my lifetime in 1973. Eating Disorders In Adolescent Girls Introduction of Eating Disorders Eating disorders, a range of psychological disorders characterized by abnormal or disturbed eating habits is a growing problem. After binging, some will even result in taking types of medications in order to prevent any type of weight gain. Furthermore, when attempting to hold off the weight using laxatives or self induced vomiting it s known as the purging type. Guys and girls dressing up androgynously, or wearing the most bizzare pieces of clothing ranging from sky high platforms to mixing unlikely prints together. Some even wear their hair and makeup in the most avant garde way. Japan for a while has been displaying fashion that intrigues us and influences us in many ways and what people don t know is that of these fashions there are different communities and subcultures of fashion that these people in the pictures conform to. Japan has a vast array of street fashion styles and trends. They are all mixed with elements of traditional, foreign and/or local styles. Their street fashion cultures vary from the tan skinned Ganguro girls to the victorian styled Lolitas. One of the most popular and biggest Japanese fashion influencers were the high school girls of Kogyaru. What exactly did these schoolgirls do to become one of the biggest trendsetters of Japan? The answers are within their signature style, Japan s popular magazines, and ability to popularize certain products. Kogyaru style was started by and became very popular among high school girls. That s what the name literally means: ko means little but it could also stand for high school and gyaru means girl. An innocent creature now has been shocked with electric prods, had its throat cut, and has bled out to death. Pigs are not the only creatures to suffer such a despicable death. Animals like sheep, cows, chickens, and goats are slaughtered for their meat. The animals are all butchered in a place called a slaughterhouse. Slaughterhouses are horrible places where humans believe they have the right to treat animals any way they want as long as they get the meat they need. People who eat meat need to understand what happens to an animal before it winds up on a plate.Animals can not defend themselves against humans. Therefore, someone else must defend the animals. Slaughterhouses must be stopped. Slaughterhouses are the cheapest ways for humans to get meat. Rather than paying large sums of money to put the animals down humanely, they are just murdered. Animals are separated in slaughterhouses from their families after being with them for weeks. Imagine one never getting to know his mother, then being ripped away from their child, while trying to manage to survive.Animals should have rights just like humans do. Table #1 shows that the length of the sample of magnesium ribbon given was 1.67 cm (to 3 significant numbers), the barometric pressure (total pressure) was 95.81 kPa, the room temperature was 24.9 °C, and the measured gas volume converted from 24.72 mL to L was 0.02472 L. Then, the pressure of H2 was found by using Dalton s Law of Partial Pressure, using the equation Ptotal = PH2+ PH20., found on Table #2 Part A. The pressure of H2O, 4 kPa, was determined by using Table H Vapor Pressure of Four Liquids on the Reference Table for Chemistry. Then, the pressure of H2O, 4 kPa, was subtracted from the total pressure, 95.81 kPa, to find the pressure of H2, 91.81 kPa. Next the mass of the sample of magnesium was found, shown on Table #2 Part B, given that the mass of Mg = 0.0100 g/cm. It was calculated that the mass of Mg per length found was 0.0167 g. Afterwards, the mass of Mg was converted to moles, using 3 significant numbers, shown in Table #2 Part C. The calculations shows that the number of moles of Mg found was 0.000687. The Shortcomings of the Articles of Confederation The years following the American Revolution, better known as the Critical Period, were some of the most vulnerable moments in the extensive history of the United States. The Critical Period is infamous for a post war recession, disorganization and competition of states, as well as a total lack of unity about the nation. The Articles of Confederation, ratified during the onset of this tumultuous period, added new dimension to early Americans idea of national government. The Articles formed a loosely united country under a highly restricted federal government. This apparent aversion of strong central government was rooted in the former colonists fear of a sequel to their monarchial horror that was England. Some believe that the Articles ... This letter speaks to the injustices of taxation, and taxation was the main reason for Shays s Rebellion. The media therefore has a strong influence over the information of social and individual opinions. Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their home because of war, natural disasters or persecution. The media represents this category of people using a narrow group of information, presenting a particular skew of opinion, which is passed onto the individuals who place trust in these sources. Through the media interpreting the typical Australian, generally not showing the reality of immigrants it allows society to disregard refugees or asylum seekers as they do not fit this ideal Australian. This ideology of the Australian has caused a history of social categorization and discrimination, often based in a racial or religious difference between the British Australian settlers, and a variety of groups, including: the Indigenous community, Chinese gold rush settlers, and Mediterranean immigrants. Recently, these social categorizations have been strongly targeted toward those seeking asylum on Australia s shores. The rapid evolution of technology and the media has caused dramatic changes in the way that society, and the individuals within it have understood and approached these issues. The company had introduced a new customized Chino program in 2001 with a further addition edition of shirts in the following year. This was done to take advantage of the web based service it was already providing and to make more efficient and profitable sales. This helped an increase in sales of 40% as compared to previous years and what was interesting to note that at that time, none of the company s competitor were offering this service, showing that technology was giving Lands End a competitive advantage. Therefore it was hard to believe that Lands End could maintain its competitive advantage through just use of superior technology. Maturing growth in the USA and abroad had forced the company to reduce its number of catalog pages and mail fewer books. Lands End was reaching logical limitations of what the catalog could do for them The last key issue was the company s decision to be acquired by Sears at $1.9 billion where it had the exclusive right to sell Lands End product in its retail stores. This new horizontal integration had left a big question on whether Lands End will be able to earn profits under this new organization and whether any conflict will arise with this new establishment. At that time the company was facing declining sales in catalogs and already was in talks with Sears in the previous years believing that the retail stores would be a key addition to the platform for selling its products. The retail stores would be used to showcase the Lands End products and if any product found unsatisfactory through catalog and online purchase could be returned through these stores as well. There were a number of key decisions that were needed to be made in order to ensure a successful future of Lands End. • 31. Lord Of The Flies Jack Is A Leader Analysis A powerful leader is one who knows how to lead with control and has strong leader characteristics. In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, some readers support the fact that Jack was a better leader than Ralph, but others feel that Ralph was the better leader. Although several supporters feel that Ralph is the best leader, it is evident that Jack is the better leader since he can effortlessly control the group on the island. It is clear that Jack is a better leader than Ralph because he is more of a demanding, manipulative person. From the time the boys landed on the island, Jack was in control of the choir. The other boys, led by Jack, run off in disorganized excitement to light the signal fire (Reilly, 3). This quote shows that the boys followed in Jack s footsteps since they set foot on the island. Along with controlling the choir, Jack challenged Ralph s opinions. We do not need the conch anymore. We know who ought to say things (Reilly, 4). This quote demonstrates that Jack is making an attempt to control the group by doing what is best for him, and he demands that the boys support his decisions. In addition, Jack s main priority was to hunt and give them what they want. The point is that Jack is doing what he wants, not what he ought (Reilly, 5). This quote illustrates that Jack is aware that he is the leader of the group, for he is doing what he wants and not what he has to. The Theory Of Corporate Social Responsibility Historical background of the development of CSR is almost as important as the ongoing discussion on what CSR is and how and where it should operate. Many scholars argue that these are not interchangeable and need to be assessed in conjunction with each other. For purposes of this paper it is pivotal to look into the past to see what stood behind the broadening of companies accountability beyond the standard agency theory (limited liability of shareholders for the company s violations or breach and the company s main accountability being towards its shareholders and investors only) to the stakeholder theory (company s accountability towards a broad range of stakeholders, including employees, environment and local communities). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This at the time was widely opposed by proponents of corporate isolation as a highly irrelevant research topic that went in no parallel or connection with the idea of a corporate veil, charter accountability and the sole purpose of any company to bring profits to its shareholders. It soon found its implementation in Freeman s management discipline , who promoted the expansion of firms accountability towards a broader range of stakeholders. One of the examples of how attitude towards CSR by multinational corporations has changed was raised by Lee, when he reviewed corporate governance codes and practices of Ford . He used two instances in the history of corporate actions of Ford with an interval of 80 years in between them. Keeping in mind the abovementioned Clark s remarks on corporate accountability back in 1916, this becomes even more educational, as it shows a dramatic change in shareholders perception of their business as a service to the broader society. Metal Plater and Cruddy Creek From the data given of the measured amounts of cadmium given at each stations along Cruddy Creek, there were extremely higher concentration levels, 430 mg/kg dry weight total of cadmium from stations F, G, and H, upstream in comparison to a total combined amount of 315mg/kg dry weight of cadmium from stations A, B, C, D, E, and the reference sites. Thus, the following locations have been identified as potential sources responsible for the distribution of cadmium into Cruddy Creek; Atlas Batteries, Metal Plater, and Pacific Coal Electric power plant due to their relevant histories and proximities to the increased amounts of cadmium. Atlas Batteries has been a part of Cruddy Creek since 1970. Their main objectives were lead acid batteries recycling and now also recycling of nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries. They are a potential source of cadmium contamination because of their methodology of disposal of sulfuric acid via an open, unlined pit which allows for chemicals to seep into the sediments at a much faster and easier rate. In addition, Atlas Batteries has a direct effluent discharge into Cruddy Creek that carries contaminants of concern such as cadmium, nickel, lead, and zinc. In this single sentence Polonius proves to himself and the world that he his does not have the soul of wit due to the fact that even though he is trying to talk about being short winded, Polonius cannot help himself from embellishing his point and therefore showing that he cannot be brief. Bullying has been a major problem in schools for too long. Students should not be scared to go to a place that is supposed to be safe and where they can express themselves. The idea was foolish and unnecessary and proved the lack of development amongst this young territory. Many factors lead to this premature uprising and the French and Indian War is a great reason for most of those factors. The decision by the American colonists to revolt against British rule was premature and overly aggressive. The American plea for a Revolution did not meet the criteria of a just war. The factors for a just war are as follows: probability of success, last resort, proportionate cause, comparative justice, competent authority, just cause, and right intention (Keown American ). For a war to be just, the war must meet all of the criteria for a just war. Though it s hard to name a war that met all of the just war criteria, it is just as hard, if not harder to name a war that was justified. At the time, the probability of success would be against the colonists. The British had the best navy in the world at the time and were a global powerhouse (Keown American ). The fight was not a ʺlast resortʺ because independence had been gained from Britain without raising arms (Keown ʺAmericanʺ). Second, I will summarize and explain the Cogito argument, Descartes famous I think, therefore I am (it should be noted that this famous implication is not actually something ever said or written by Descartes, but instead, an implication taken from his argument for his own existence). Descartes attacks the possibility of certainty with regards to the existence of small and universal elements with the possibility of our thoughts being altered by an omnipotent deceiver. In paragraph nine, he states, How do I know that he did not bring it about that there be no Earth at all, no heavens, no extended thing, no figure, no size, no place, and yet all these things should seem to me to exist precisely as they appear to do now. His point is that this omnipotent evil deceiver could create in our minds an understanding of mathematics and logic that is at odds with reality, causing us to construe everything wrongly. Thus Descartes ends this final and devastating doubt with the preliminary conclusion that everything he perceives can be called into doubt. Descartes answers his seemingly hopeless skepticism from the first meditation with the Cogito. The basic point of his Cogito argument is that for me to either perceive awry, or even to doubt my own existence, I must exist. It is, as Descartes says, I am, I exist is necessarily true every time it is uttered by me or conceived in my mind (Med2, par3). He makes two arguments for the Cogito in his second meditation.
