Autism the link between the inside world and the outside world<br />Submitted by: Mario Perez <br />Date: March 3, 2010 <br /> <br />I choose this topic because in many ways we have no recollection as professionals, parents and society how to work and help a child with autism. As a professional I am very aware of the programs implemented when acquiring a child with autism under your wings and trying to help the family as a whole to succumb and face the always changing lifestyle autism has. I begin with the introduction when a child having autism, the beginning of challenging life begins when the child one day happy and learning the world around and the nest day not even knowing its name. Autism has brought many researchers and professionals to halt of the drastic changes in a child. <br />Unfortunately, the only age where Autism is fully evaluated is at age 3 when the child’s brain is fully develop and have no time to recollect all the data stored for the two years of the child’s life. Another issue is the not enough funds to research the problem, now we have a problematic with funds since most regional centers are not qualifying all children with autism. Families are left with a burden that they don’t understand and cannot cope on their own. Overall, the challenge here is the need, the right people for the research and patience to see the type of therapies and medication a child or even a person can use having autism.<br />The main argument is the ideas and prevention to become more aware when an individual has autism. In order to make a productive lifestyle with a person who has autism there should be intense research to make a preventable cause of any disorder specially one like autism. Research should be made in many levels of environment where the person resides. There should be research done in schools, homes, parks anywhere a person can be so the research could be valid. <br />There is no link now between what a person with autism can do and is willing to do since we lack the formality of the disorder and validity is weak to many researchers, there are many assumptions whether this is caused by a vaccine or inherited but both don’t seem valid since if it was a vaccine then it would have spread vastly as to inherited cannot either because then it should have been exposed centuries ago.<br />There is a need of educating people and communities of the many types of disorders and what to expect when the disorder is being develop. There should be trainings for anyone who is in the field of human development and growth because many people do not understand the challenges autism has and what the person will face in the future as the disorder develops. <br />Our government should take more responsibility in the reality of the future of this country where many children are being raised with autism yet no help can come due to lack of funds and people without the right experience. Overall the amount of research is lacking now and as years come if there is not enough help our society will have to lower their standards because as Freud said this is survival of the fittest and if having so many people to help will not be a survival yet it will be more of a survival of living. <br />After reading all references it point out that there are variations of disorders that network with autism. <br />1. In a journal I found out that there are low rates among certain races where we see this autism as a specific target race which was mostly Hispanics yet in other state we see that its non-Hispanics are among the least in having autism, in Texas, there was research made about children who researchers assume the disorder was being projected at then it figures out that it’s another race that has the majority of it and some have the least of it.<br />2. Other researchers assume it was because of socioeconomic status and parents of children with good health insurance might be less likely to have autism yet that hypothesis was incorrect.<br />3. Other research talked about early detection which steps to take if the infant has a disorder, yet the study didn’t really explain well the cause and the beginning of the disorder.<br />4. Another journal explain about the many types of curriculum you can acquire with a child who has a disorder and what types of professional can help them yet in all of the research it found that professionals themselves don’t really have enough education or either experience with children that have disorders. <br />5. One researched autism in adults where it notes about the length in time where the adults catch autism and the amount of time it takes an adult to reach a slight potential but it’s proven that people of age 18 or older have a harder time to work and have independent life skills having autism. <br />Overall, there are variations of autism in that research has to develop, there are many assumptions on what causes autism yet one this is valid the disorder is there and we need to stop it sooner before it is too late. <br />This hypothesis will be set as “Autism the link between the inside world and the outside world”. <br /> <br />References:<br />(2010).
