We planned our sequence on a storyboard but didn't have it while filming, which caused issues. We had to improvise to try and match our filmed sequence as closely as possible to the storyboard.
We used an HD camera, battery, tape and tripod to film. I learned different shot types like close-ups, long shots, and over-the-shoulder shots. Factors like applicable shots and positioning equipment were considered during planning, shooting and editing.

How to prepare for a film shoot
- 1. HOW TO PREPARE FOR A FILM SHOOT
- 2. Preparation is important There are 5 key creative processes that go into making a film these are: Script writing The storyboard Practice/test shooting Shooting Editing
- 3. Step1: The Script For the script it should be written down as it is the only way to remember what your ideas were. The script does not have to be over complicated but it should be descriptive outlining the story. This help us and the actors know what is going to happen and also informs the actors of there dialogue.
- 4. Step 2 As the script has been created, we walked through it and acted it out to make sure that there weren’t any problems which would occur during the final filming we also decided to act it out in the actual location in order to see if there would be anything wrong with the location. This step was really important as it saved a lot of time while actually film
- 5. Step 3: Location Recce We done a location recce in order to diagnose any problems with the locations that would occur during filming. We made notes on what will work and what we will have to change. This helped us think of what shots we would be able to use and where the camera should be placed. This gave us a visual idea and understanding of where the actors should be while filming.
- 6. Step 4: Storyboard Before going off to film we had created a story board to help us with what we should be doing at each scene and what should be happening at the scene. This was done by combining the walk through of the script and the location recce which built the storyboard. Which was decided upon using a variety of angles, shots and movements within the frame.
- 7. Step 5: Shooting Script The shooting script is a vital component while filming as is allows you to plan out the shots, angles and movements before actually filming also planning this on you script will help indicate where each of the shots and movements should be in the film.
- 8. Step 6:Test Shooting We had done a test shooting in order to help improve our final plans for the film. We improved the script and the shots that we had taken through we had found some problems with our original idea. The test shoot helped us get familiar with the equipment and te actors which we would use during the production of the film. This saved us time and helped us the improve the film.
- 9. Step 7: Film Schedule The film schedule was the final stage before we began the shooting of our film the schedule was used to help us become more organised as a group and help save time overall. With the film schedule we where also able to determine how much time we would be using during our filming and how much time left if we were to improve something in the final stages of the production.
