Linear Inequations
The unit we finished is called Cookies. The unit is about the system of inequalities, system of
equations, using constraints, graphing, finding the feasible region, soling for the profit/optimal line,
and finding the P.O.I. We began the unit learning about solving for ( x,y ) then subbing 0,0 to find out
if they were true or false and graphing them to find the feasible region. Then we learned how to solve
a system of equations using two different methods. In this unit we learned how to graph a system of
linear inequalities to find and use feasible region. The first step is to get variable y by itself if by
moving the variable x to the other side or if y is already alone leave it. After you solve for (y) move on
to solving for (x) and put in the (x,y) into the graph. To determine if your (x,y) are true or false you
must sub 0,0 for x and y in of your inequality. Once solve for inequalities given, you may find the
feasible region in which all inequalities are found. You can use the feasible region to find where the
inequalities would be true and where the optimal line (profit or cost line)give the max the last point
the optimal line touches and min the first point it touches. In this ... Show more content on

Inequalities are similar to equations because they both are solving for (x,y), wanting y by itself, what
is done to one side must be done to the other side and both have a variety of solutions. Inequalities are
different from equations because one uses an equal sign all the time while the other uses four different
signs ( removed HTML ) , ≤ and ≥ inequalities can have many answers while equation can only have
one answers. System of inequalities involves using different symbols such as greater than , less than ,
greater than or equal to ≥ and less than or equal to ≤ with many different answers. System of equations

Black Colleges And Universities ( Hbcus ) Essay
Introduction
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are institutions of higher education in the
United States that were established before 1964. As amended by The Higher Education Act of 1965, a
part B institution refers to any Historically Black college or university that was established prior to
1964, whose principal mission was, and is, the education of Black Americans, and that is accredited
by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or association determined by the Secretary to be a
reliable authority as to the quality of training offered or is, according to such an agency or association,
making reasonable progress toward accreditation. Though in 1837 Cheyne University of Pennsylvania
and 1854 Lincoln University (Pennsylvania) had been established for Black education, Black Colleges
and Universities became recognized by the United States Government in the 1890 s.
The second Morrill Land Grant Act specified that states using federal higher education funds must
provide an education to Black students, either by opening the doors of their public universities to those
of African descent, or by establishing schools specifically to serve them. Integration for white public
and private institutions was completely out of the question due to the substantial racial divide within
the United States so, many Southern states created a completely separate set of institutions serving
Blacks. Thus were born many public and private Black colleges. Of the 100+ HBCU s

A Review Of Adaptive Technique For Image Super Resolution
A Review of Adaptive Technique for Image Super resolution
Prof. S. P. Bhosale

A.I.S.S.M.S COE, Pune, India spbhosale@aisssmscoe.com ABSTRACT
Increase in resolution of image has been one driving factor in the development and progress of the
fields related to the capture, processing and display of digital images and video. Number of authors
has carried out research on various techniques on super resolution algorithms which are classified into
two basic categories: single frame super resolution and the more common multi frame super resolution
. Single frame super resolution is a very ill posed problem due to the lack of any new additional
information. Multi frame Super resolution on the other hand presents more information in the form of
Low Resolution (LR) frames that are displaced from each other making it a more tractable problem. A
related problem to super Resolution (SR) techniques is image restoration, which is well established
area in image processing application. An other problem related to SR reconstruction is image
interpolation that has been used to increase the size of a single image.
Keywords
Adaptive technique, super resolution technique, frequency domain method.

Midlife Crisis Essay
Mid life crisis explain as an extremity in a middle age, in people s lives. Where middle ages may face
a disappearance of identity and reduce their self confidence. Midlife crisis has been known around the
world for many years, but has not always been believed by everyone because not everyone face it.
Mid life crisis is more of a normal change period that generally happen the time of a major life event
that emphasizes getting older. A midlife crisis is something more person dependent rather than
something everyone experiences. People go through many different experiences in their lives that

heat sources such as heating pads, hot water bottles, and pot handles can hurt the skin before the elder

change that affects the elderly. However, as you age even more the speed of your decreasing height
happens at a faster pace. This is mostly due to the bones in your body that become more fragile and
also the shrinkage of your joints. Lastly, another common change is hair color. Your hair slowly starts
getting a small amount of grey hair due to follicles in your hair that do not produce as much melanin
as before. Body and facial hair also tend to change as you age, but that usually takes longer to happen.
The process of actually getting grey hair can depend be dependant on your genes. And whenever they

The Customers Revenge
The Customer s Revenge
We have all been somewhere in a store or dealership when there was an irate and unhappy customer
looming in our presence. They were obviously upset about something and generally draw a lot of
negative attention to themselves and to the company. Luckily for companies, just a few short years
ago only a few customers out of hundreds, thousands, or millions would have seen the negative effects
of the incident, but in current times almost everyone has a camera phone that records videos and it
only takes a matter of seconds for videos like that to go viral on some social media network. Because
of today s technology, everyone has free access to various social media channels such as YouTube,

When a company treats its customers with respect the products and brands tend to sell themselves
because customer satisfaction and trust in the brand rises. When customers shop where they can trust
they will be taken care of they tend to be repeat customers and give positive word of mouth. To
accompany new policy changes, the company needs to have workshops or employee meetings on the
changes for everyone involved in every aspect of customer service. These employees must know how
to handle individual customer s problems and learn that each case is different and that there can never
be one generalized way to solve someone s problem. Customer service representatives must learn to
handle each case individually and treat the customer as fairly as possible. The three main focuses of a
changed policy is to, first, make sure that the implemented policy was just and fair to both customers
and the company, secondly, notify customers of the changes and provide them with a way to have any
questions answered, and lastly, set a deadline to re evaluate the policy and make changes as needed. If
I were the Vice President of Customer Service for Atida motors I would push for a new customer
compensation policy that is more reasonable for both the company and the customers. To implement
this policy we would need to follow the three basic steps of policy making, such

Military Services Act
Essay Title: Military Services Act In 1917 during WW1, the Canadian government justified in
enacting the Military Services Act to register and conscript men for war. Almost all French Canadians
opposed conscription because they felt they had no loyalty to France and Britain. Other Canadians
were at ease with the conscription as they supported the British Empire. The farmers, union heads, and
pacifists were all opposed of the conscription like the French Canadians. I believe the Military
Services Act was not the best choice because it ripped up the relations between the English and the
French Canadians, it eliminated the freedom of the people by forcing them to go to war, and caused a
riot in Quebec City leading to a few deaths. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Quebec City mayor sent reinforcements from Ottawa to help control the rioting, which had been
going on for two days. On the Easter Monday the crowds organized against the military presence in
the city. Armed rioters started to fire at the troops and vise versa. There was an estimated four men
killed by the fire and dozens injured. These riots represent one of the most violent disturbances in
Canadian history. These riots erupted over conscription, which grew from how things were before in
French Canadian nationalism. The military crackdown that lasted in Quebec until the end of the war
resulted in an increase in state power in the growing of French Canadian nationalism. These riots over
the conscription and the French Canadians sticking to their ways lead to a many difficult and
unpleasant times in Quebec. The Military Services Act had more cons than pros as it destroyed the
relationship of the English Canadians and the French Canadians, it limited the freedom of the males
by forcing them to attend war and fight, and also caused a dangerous and damaging riot in Quebec. By
the spring of 1918, the government had amended the Military Services Act so that there were no
exemptions. This left many English Canadians opposed. The war ended within a few months but the
issue left Canadians divided and distrustful of their government. Then in 1920 Borden retired and
conservatives were shut out of Quebec for the next fifty years. The conscription crisis stuck

The Controversial Validity And Enforceability Of Letter Of...
1. The controversial validity and enforceability of Letter of Indemnity The use of LOI can lead to
different effects and especially because of the question of the Validity and the enforceability of this
mechanism. According to Professor Tetley, a LOI used against clean B/L are usually the central
document to a fraud or an accessory of fraud , and P I Clubs agreed but decided to go deeper by
stipulating a general rule that leads to a deny of insurance cover in case of the use of a LOI against
clean B/L, delivery of cargo at a different port or against non production of a B/L . Indeed, whereas for
the last LOI, the Court estimates that the LOI is fraudulent (because of a false misrepresentation of a
material fact ), for the first one, the Court can considered it as fraudulent, especially in absence of
guarantee because it imposes an important responsibility on the carrier. According to JP Mattout, LOIs
have been the practical way chosen by the parties even if they are far from being the perfect solution .
Indeed, the United Kingdom remains a Common Law country, in which there is not a general
principle of good faith in contract, even if the principle of equity could be another solution. That is
why; the Courts and English law generally reject the use of a LOI, the Court will not help and support
an illegal act and an intentional breach of contract from the parties . The most relevant illustration of a
condemnation of this practice is the Brown Jenkinson Co. Ltd v

Pathophysiology Of Celiac Disease Of Gluten, Wheat,...
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY Celiac disease is an enteropathy mediated by an autoimmune response to
gluten, a protein complex found in the endosperm of wheat, barley, and rye.1 The immune response is
triggered by both environmental and genetic factors in individuals susceptible to the disease resulting
in elevated levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA) antibodies to tissue transglutaminase (tTG), duodenal
mucosal villi atrophy, and the inability of tight junctions to properly act as a barrier between the
gastrointestinal tract and the systemic portion of the body.1 Environmental Factors Consumption of
gluten is the root cause of the autoimmune response that initiates the cascade of reactions in the body.
Gluten proteins can be fractionated into gliadin and glutenin, which are the environmental factors that
trigger the immune response in the small intestine.2 These protein molecule complexes are normally
unable to permeate the intestinal epithelial. However, with celiac disease, the integrity of tight
junctions is compromised, allowing the protein complex to breach the intestinal lining. The regulatory
intestinal peptide zonulin is thought to be responsible for the weakened state of tight junctions.2
Genetic Factors Human leukocyte antigens (HLA) class II genes are recognized as the primary genetic
predisposition for celiac disease.3 Patients who are carriers of the HLA DQ2 allele account for 95% of
confirmed celiac disease cases.4 The majority of the remaining population with the disease are

Essay on Family Relationships in Greek Mythology
Greek Mythology originated around 775 B.C.E. It all started with Homer s Iliad and continued on with
Hesiod s Theogany. These were the first two myths to be recorded in Greek Mythology. Both of these
myths reveal to us about their understanding of the universe, and about their culture. Not only do they
talk about their various gods, and heroes, but they also talk about how they viewed the universe in
general (Rosenberg 79). Greek Mythology evolved from two early civilizations, the Mycenaean s and
the Minoans. It was the combining of these different Greek cities and Kingdoms during 10th century
B.C. that created Greek Mythology. Its Geographic isolation gave it a place for mythologies to evolve

However, Uranus was afraid that Cronus might overpower him and one day obtain all his power.
Knowing this Uranus purposely tried to kill Cronus in multiply occasions, but Gaea would always
protect him. One day Gaea and Cronus made a plan to have Cronus challenge Uranus and take over
his power. So it happened, Cronnus challenged his father and was victorious during their battle and
Uranus was left to rot (Bernard 1) Now Cronus had become king of gods by killing his father Uranus
(Bernard 3). In both Greek and Roman Mythology, the relationship between parents and children are
distorted, strained, and bizarrely transformed, because of their greediness for power and obsessiveness
to be better than the other.
To begin with, the relationship between parents and their children are distorted, because of their
greediness and obsessiveness to be better than the other. In the story of Medea, Medea poisoned her
own children, because she wanted to see her husband suffer the way she suffered after he left her. She
decided they best way to get revenge is by poisoning her children, this way both their children and
Jason s new wife will die of poisoning and Jason will be left all alone in the world with no one to love
him (Rosenberg 204). This clearly shows that the relationship between parents and children is
distorted, because Medea was willing to poison her own children to get revenge on her husband.
Someone who is even willing to do that is twisted and evil in

My Daily Life In Everyday Life
Books are essential to everyday life. They provide entertainment to the masses. They allow students to
learn without teachers. They can contain anything that someone might want to read. Books have
shaped my life and made me the person I am today. Just as Sherman Alexie found his calling as a child
in books and reading, books taught me things that teachers couldn t and were there for my learning
when no one else could be.
When I was in kindergarten, I was the only child in my class who didn t know how to read. I had
grown up listening to stories, weaved into my imagination by my parents. When I found out that I
would be able to read those stories ourselves, I was stunned. Every day in class, I would try my best to
learn and catch up with my peers. Day after day I left class feeling more and more hopeless in my
attempts. A wrong vowel. A bad pronunciation. A long word. I was nearly ready to give up, when at
last, I made a breakthrough. I finished my first book, a thin paperback copy of Dick and Jane. The fact
that the book couldn t have been more than five pages was irrelevant, I had tasted the Lotus, and
would never go without it again. From that day on, my school and home life were filled with reading.
I finished all the Dick and Jane books, so I started reading short picture books. I finished the short
picture books, and started reading Curious George. I finished Curious George and started reading
novels. The pages sang to me, painted pictures of faraway lands, heroes, and

DBQ Mongols Barbaric Dbq
The Mongols were a fearless and powerful group that dominated Asia and Eastern Europe during the
13th century. They did this through their battle tactics. The Mongols often fought on horseback and
surrounded their enemies, which was an extremely efficient way to conquer. Their battle tactics
portrayed them as barbaric and scary, enabling them to surround and conquer lands. Throughout the
13th century, the Mongols portrayed a barbaric image to the rest of the world due to their battle
tactics, severe punishments, and their ability to conquer great amount of land.
The first thing that the Mongols did that made them barbaric were their battle tactics, which included

The first example is from The Mongol Empire Map (1260 1300). The chart shows that Genghis Khan
had conquered (4,860,000 sq. miles) double what Alexander the great conquered (2,180,000). Genghis
Khan also conquered almost quadruple what Adolf Hitler conquered (1,370,000) (Doc 1). This shows
Genghis Khan s widespread conquest of lands all over Asia and eastern Europe. The fact that Genghis
Khan to this day has conquered the most land all over Asia and some of eastern Europe shows how
scary and barbaric the Mongols must have looked. The second and final examples are on the Mongols
attacks on China. From the source, Mongol Background Essay, they stated that during the first wave in
Asia it was said that, Genghis Khan launched an army of 200,000 men across the Gobi
Desert...Numerous Chinese cities fell, including the capitol where Mongol slaughter was so great the
streets were said to be greasy with human fat and flesh (DBQ 2010). Genghis Khan s army was so
powerful that they successfully conquered China, one of the strongest empires, so much so that they
covered China s capitol s streets with human blood and fat. This is yet another example of barbarity.
The final example of their barbaric acts is from Robert Marshall s Storm from the East. He stated that
a census taken from the Chin Empire in 1195 showed a population of around 50 million, but after the
Mongols dominated in 1235 the count of people was less than 9 million (Doc 15). This shows how
barbaric the Mongols were through killing over 40 million people. Through Genghis Khan s conquest
of the most land ever, and through the Mongols brutal conquest of China, this portrays how barbaric

The Acceptance of Homosexuality in South Africa Essay

For hundreds of years South Africa has endured a constant power struggle, oppression under the
apartheid government, the AIDS epidemic and homophobia. Internationally there are currently four
countries that permit same sex marriages, which include the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and Canada.
Even though homosexuality remains largely taboo in South Africa, the country is taking steps towards
overall equality and improved human rights allowing such unions to take place where this lifestyle

The increasing visibility of same sex couples and the increased visibility of homosexuality did not
necessarily mean more gay men and women were coming out. For an African coming out is a
continual process because it involves additional cultural and social factors that play a major role. The
process is more difficult because the African family structure in much more connected than that in the
United States. If something affects one person in a family it affects everyone. Coming out deals with
homophobic churches, strong family foundations and ties that emphasize heterosexuality, and the
overall negative connotation associated with the GLBT community.
In the African community your stance on homosexuality is influenced by the church, you either do not
talk about it or you condemn it completely. In 2004 Africa s Anglican archbishops vowed not to accept
any donations from Western churches that support the ordination of gay priests. Even though most
churches in Africa depend on this funding from the West they continue to deny assistance. To be gay

Essay On Asian American Stereotypes
Asian Stereotypes are everywhere in our society. Racial stereotypes often arise from fear of the
unknown. In the history of the different forms stereotypes often result from prejudice. It helps to
explain why people tend to think that Asians do not drive well. But the statistics do not show this
conclusion, also why blacks are more likely to be arrested or shot by the police. Specific racial
stereotypes tend to have cultural background, while other racial stereotypes are simply due to the
oversimplification of complex information.
Stereotypes of Asians in particular have been around for a long of time. In the late 19th century, many
Asians went to the United States to pursue their dream because they want to improve their family
quality of life. And they work so hard to make money so Americans were afraid that the Asian laborers
would invade the country and let them loose the job opportunity. So the term Chinky Chink was used
to explain the American afraid that a huge number of Asians will live in America and become

Spectrum Is a Limied and Valuable Resource Essay
Spectrum is a limited and valuable resource. The escalating requirement for wireless communication
and broadband services has augmented the attempts to improve the designs for wireless systems.
These enhanced wireless systems offer substantial increase in data throughput and link range without
the requirement of any additional bandwidth. This led to the development of MIMO Systems. In
Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology, multiple antennas are used at both the transmitter
and receiver to improve the functioning of the wireless communication system. We accomplish this
objective by exploiting the spatial domain of the transmission medium.
In this chapter, we describe the MIMO system model along with a brief discussion of its ... Show more

The detector then chooses one of the BM possible transmitted symbol vectors based on the available

3.3 MIMO System Model
The capacity of Single Input Single Output (SISO) wireless communication systems must be increased
to fulfill the ever growing demands of efficient transmission rate. This can be done by allocating
additional bandwidth which is not always feasible due to the limited spectral resources [Alamouti
1998]. Recent studies have proved that using spatial multiplexing MIMO systems can boost the
capacity of a wireless communication system significantly without the prerequisite of extra
bandwidth.
Multipath propagation is an essential component of all wireless communication system. Conventional
radio systems rely on the strong primary signal and also make use of multipath mitigation techniques
to overcome multipath propagation and interference. Beam forming technology or smart antenna
technology is used for this purpose. A smart antenna is capable of routing transmitted beam by
scheming the phase of the signal at each element of the antenna array to the receiver. Receiving
diversity, this uses numerous antennas at the receiver side and merges all the received signals to
improve the signal reliability. These techniques are used to reduce the effect of multipath propagation
on the communication systems. MIMO makes use of multipath propagation to get better throughput,
range and reliability [Berrou 1996]. In

Advantages And Disadvantages Of SCADA
SCADA
SCADA is an acronym for Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition . It can be defined as is a system
operating with coded signals over communication channels so as to provide control of remote

SCADA is one of the oldest methods to control data across a network. Unlike many other software s
used in the industry, SCADA can be used in any field, be it in electrical power control, mechanical
machinery, civil projects, data managements etc. This versatility means more than one type of system,
for example both electrical and mechanical systems can be controlled by one software from the same
place at the same time.

Comparing Frankenstein And Adam
Compare and Contrast Frankenstein and Adam There are differences and similarities in the creation
story of Adam and Victor s creature. Victor Frankenstein and God created beings and put them in the
world. Adam and the creature Victor Frankenstein created resembles each other because, they were
alone, unique, and beings created. The creation of Frankenstein s monster parallels the creation of
Adam in many ways. First of all, both Adam and the monster were created because of love. God loved
the world and He thought that he needs to create a human being who was to take care of the beautiful
earth. The bible says that, God loved humanity and that is why he created man (Adam) in His image
and put him in the Garden of Eden which had everything he needed (Gen. 2:7 9). Adam was placed in
the Garden of Eden and warned not to eat from Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil . On the

no creature like him and asked is God (his creator), to create him a companion just like him. Both
Adam and the creature felt an urge of having companions who were created just like them in their
image. The main difference between Adam and the creature is their creators. Adam was created by
God and given directions on how to live in the world. In contrast, after Victor created the monster, he
left it wandering all alone in the world without any instructions or companion. In addition, after God

Of God and Nature
Gloria Omole
1. There are two books that give me my divine stance: the one God wrote himself (scripture) and the
alternative for those who don t seek the bible (nature). Those who have not seen his teachings
firsthand know of him through his scripture. 2. The sun caused the ones that know him through
scripture to appreciate him; it was a miracle that was to be taken note of above all his other miracles 3.
The pagans knew how to read the word better than Christians themselves, although they read less into
it then those with faith do. 4. I do not forget to give God credit for nature, which is not the foundation

Build The Wall Vs. The Reagan Essay
Build the Wall vs The Reagan Amnesty 1981. 2017. Through two different presidencies in two diverse
generations, the Trump Administration and the Reagan Administration share similar and
heterogeneous views on immigration policy through the Build the Wall campaign and the Reagan
Amnesty. Even though it is nearly a month before Donald J. Trump and his Administration are
inaugurated into office, the promises that Trump made public provide insight into his values and ideas
on immigration reform for the United States. The Reagan Administration made its stance clear on
immigration through legislation passed in the mid 1980 s regarding the increasing number of illegal
immigrants making their way into America. Through both policies, there are similarities in the desired
outcomes of the ideas; however, there are also differences that make both policies unique from one
another. Through powerful, yet varied, ideologies, Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan both establish
immigration missions, whereby Donald Trump s slogan, Make America Great Again, refers to the
Reagan Administration, aiming to revitalize the country back to the 1980 s economic prowess. The
Trump administration, taking place in the peak of the millennial generation, is part of a phenomenon
that has never been seen in American history. During the beginning of this millennial generation,
popular support was believed to shift from the Republican party to the Democratic party, yet when a

Symptoms And Treatment Of Vascular Closure
Background
Vascular closure devices following cardiac catherization through the femoral artery have been gaining
significant traction since its use in the mid 1990s. Compared to the previous gold standard of manual
compression, VCDs allow for shortened time to ambulation, decreased duration of hospitalization post
procedure, and increased patient comfort. The devices have also shown safeness comparable to
manual compression. Despite the many advantages and variety of devices available, there are still
complications to take into account. More common issues include device failure, bleeding, and
hematoma. Less common but more serious complications include infection, ischemia, limb loss, and
death.

Due to these findings patient was directly admitted to the hospital and placed on a heparin drip. On
physical exam patient had absent pulses below the right femoral artery. However, there was no
discoloration, change of temperature, or sensory as well as motor deficits of the right lower extremity.
Patient was taking a low dose aspirin and red yeast rice for cholesterol management at that time.
The following morning the patient underwent successful angioplasty of the right common femoral
artery with thrombectomy and a 6 x 20 mm balloon angioplasty, reducing a 90% stenosis to less than
30%. A spider catheter was deployed to perform the thrombectomy, however an atrial blazer catheter
failed to retrieve the spider device as it was unable to completely collapse. As a result the patient was
taken to the OR for vascular surgery. The spider basket was retrieved through the wall of the common
femoral artery with its contents.
The specimen was sent to pathology, which noted a foreign body device surrounded by soft tissue
attached to the spider device. The foreign body was noted to be a Angio Seal plug from the left heart
catheterization that had been presumed a thrombus.
Discussion
Promising results have shown that the Angio seal VCD has excellent efficacy and safety after routine
catheterization and intervention. However, clear indications of use and risk of complications need to
be evaluated and monitored.

Pros And Cons Of Reid Technique
Manipulative Procedures Elicits False Confessions
In many cases innocent people are convicted while criminals are free on the streets committing more

accusatory interviewing that leads to a development of the truth. The technique is based on science

Deception In Open Window
As I walk through the pen of colts I am very particular on the ones I choose to add to my string of

Racial Discrimination Effect on Labor Market
The earliest form of racial discrimination against Asian Americans was encountered during the
California Gold Rush. The Gold Rush attracted Chinese immigrants who came to California to fill the
high demand for laborers. However, as more and more Chinese immigrated to California and the
lower paying labor jobs were filled, the Chinese began filling higher paying positions typically held
by Whites. As a result, an anti Chinese Movement was formed followed by the enactment of the
Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 which prevented any additional Chinese immigration into the United
States. Essentially, Chinese were discriminated against by the Whites due to fear of the Chinese taking
over their jobs. After World War II, the federal government ended ... Show more content on

In most cases, the relationship between education and wages is widely accepted since lower education
level equates to lower knowledge and skills, qualifying workers for only low paying jobs. Also, the
inability to speak fluent English may have hindered Hispanic wages and employment. The inability to
communicate in English affects individuals performance especially in jobs that require close
interaction with English speaking customers (16). Latinos working on a full time basis earned
approximately $549 per week in 2011 which represented only 71% of what was earned by Whites.
This wage gap has been steady even during recession periods. However, unlike other ethnic minority
groups, the wage disparities between Whites and Latinos are also clearly attributable to differences in
education, work experience, and other demographic characteristics (Charles and Guryan 510).
According to the statistics from researchers, the effect of poor English on wages varies, with some
reports indicating 30% of the wage disparity between Hispanics and Whites is attributable to the
language barrier. Hispanics who do not speak English are relegated to positions which require little to
no customer interaction, primarily in the agricultural industry. The challenge of speaking fluent
English is common among the Hispanics. As noted in 1976, only 18% of the Hispanic workers in the
United States spoke fluent or even partially fluent English. In 1979, the overall annual earnings for

The Course of Human Events
David McCullough is an award winning author, historian and has even had his hand in television and
movies. Unlike most historians of the day, when he conducts research he emerges himself as if he
were the subject himself. Subsequently, his methods have created a very successful writing career
since the late 1960s. In short, nearly all of his works have been praised by the public and two of his
major works, biographies of John Adams and Harry Truman earned a Pulitzer, two National Book
Awards along with two Francis Park Prizes. One of his works, The Course of Human Events, was a
lecture he wrote when he achieved the honor of speaking at the Jefferson Lecture. In sum, the work
details of the importance of history and education. After an introduction about the honor it is to be
presenting at the Jefferson Lecture, McCullough first shifts his attention to the darkest memory he
possesses. He recalls when Hitler s seemingly unstoppable army had basically reached the coast of
America and the havoc it reeked on the people. Proceeding a short, but important excerpt dealing with
power of human hope or spirit; the focus is shifted to Trumbull s Declaration of Independence.
Ironically, McCullough explains, the popular painting seen by virtually every American never even
occurred. Next, the work focuses directly on the main idea and theme of how powerful, influential and
vital education is. McCullough begins by going in depth with a few of the founding fathers and

Essay on Technology in the Classroom
Technology in the Classroom
Over the years many new technologies have been key factors in the process of learning. Fifty years
ago when someone would need to research a subject the only sources were books and classes, when
someone needed to do a math problem they had their brain, paper or an abacus to use, and
interpersonal communication was limited to how loud you could talk, how detailed a letter you could
write, or how long you could afford to pay for long distance phone calls. Now we have the calculator,
internet, and computer that help children, as well as adults, learn faster and easier. The assistance of
these technologies has helped to further research beyond what many thought possible. Due to these

Solar powered calculators first came out in 1976 77. They became common in the mid 1980s and now
have become the most common. Calculators today have the time alarm feature, computations in
multiple languages, solar power, the buttons are multitasked, and overall have more functions. A cheap
calculator today is only $2 or $3 and a more functional calculator could be $90.
Computers over the past decades have gone through tremendous changes. In 1960 the first commercial
computer was introduced as the first minicomputer that only consisted of a keyboard and monitor
(Polsson, 2003). It was not until 1963 that Douglas Engelbart, of the Stanford Research Institute,
invented the mouse. Five years later he demonstrated the keyboard, keypad, mouse, and windows
together at the Fall Joint Computer Conference. Also at this conference he demonstrated word
processor, a hypertext system, and a dynamic file linking (Polsson, 2003). Honeywell in 1969 released
the Kitchen Computer, the first home computer, at the price of $10,600. IBM, also in that year, built
SCAMP, one of the world s first personal computers, now more commonly called PCs (Polsson,
2003). The first floppy disk which was an eight inch plastic disk called a memory disk was introduced
by IBM in 1967 (Brown, 2003). In 1976 the 5.25 inch floppy disk was produced; another floppy disk,
the 3.5 inch, was created in the 1980s (Brown, 2003).

Ethical Framework In Teleological Framework
A case study was done on the closing of a textile manufacturing company in North Carolina, which
decided to relocate the business to another country. The decision to transfer was based on the fact that
the company would generate more revenue at a lower cost. However, the proponents of such a move
were based on an ethical teleological framework decision. However, an ethical leader has certain
qualities that are needed to build trust and develop sustainable relationships amongst numerous
stakeholders (Eisenbeils Brodbeck, 2014). According to the reading in Unit V, the proponents and
decision to move the textile company to Southeast Asia are based on the teleological framework.
Also, to understand why this move is considered to be ethical, we must look at the meaning of
teleological framework. Teleological is based on one s consequences of action; nevertheless, these
results of interests are those that affect the individuals directly. Additionally, teleological ethics
determines the value of a moral action or a moral life result from that action or life; consequently,
philosophies within teleological ethics are also known as consequentialist ethical theories (Kocyigit
Karadag, 2016). Further, the leader is also in favor of utilitarianism, whereas they can find themselves
confronting undecidable dilemmas for which making a particular decision becomes almost random
(Farmer, 2015). Although, moving to Southeast Asia can be seen as a good and assessable magnitude,

Dorian Gray Symbolism
In The Picture of Dorian Gray Basil Hallward, the painter who made Dorian s portrait introduces the
reader to the idea that art reveals more about people than about art itself. In both works we are
introduced to two very significant artistic symbols: Dorian Gray s portrait and the painting made by
Kurtz. Both are described as sinister, and they both provide an insight into the characters souls, in their
own unique way. With Dorian we refer to a more literal view into his soul, as his portrait is a magical
symbol that portrays it. This is perhaps the biggest symbol in Wilde s novel. The portrait allows him to
stay young but reflects all of his being into a single picture. One noteworthy reflection is that of the

His painting is that of a draped, blindfolded woman carrying a lighted torch in the darkness. There
have been many interpretations to his painting. Some critics argue that the blindfolded woman
represents justice; others say that it represents a blind Europe trying to bring the light of civilization
into the African continent. While I do not disagree with these ideas, I do have an interpretation of my
own. I believe that the painting represents humanity as a whole. We are surrounded by darkness but
because we carry a light we believe that it is not there, thus we wear a blindfold either because we don
t believe that darkness is there or because we are simply too afraid to see ourselves surrounded by it.
We need to consider that Kurtz painted this before he went down his dark path, therefore this is a view
into his soul before it was touched by darkness. Perhaps the painting represents how he viewed
himself: surrounded by darkness but unable to see it because he was blindfolded, and that blindfold
was society trying to hide the very concept of darkness and light, or good and evil, from man in order

Persuasive Essay On Bathroom Laws
For several years now the topic of bathroom regulations have filled the news and social media. Their
are people for and against the changes in bathroom laws. Conservatives hold to the mandate that each
gender should use their appropriate bathrooms. But when you come to the issue of people who are
transgender using the bathroom of their choice therein lies the rub.
The gay rights movement has used the demonstrations and tactics of those who marched with Dr. King
to support their stance on bathroom rights and other litigations. As time goes by states have developed
their own laws regarding gay rights. Several states have changed policies by where people who are
transgender can change their original documentation to include their new gender specific identity.
(Time| U.S.) However, despite the changes in law and the countless conversations about this topic,
there are still many people who are opposed to the law and desires of those who identify as being gay

bathroom they identified with, what safety would exist against those people who are predators? As
protest and debates continue regarding this issue, lawmakers working alongside the courts to clarify

Cost and Reasonable Rental Value
I. Purposes of the Brief
This brief amicus curiae does not address the merits of the predatory pricing allegation against
BuyGasCo Corporation ( BuyGasCo ). It speaks only to the nature of the cost accounting system that
we, as students of accounting, think to be appropriate for addressing the issues presented by cases of
this general type.
We offer our views on this subject out of concern about the allocation of indirect costs used in
assessing the appropriate gasoline cost value in State of Florida v. BuyGasCo Corporation, 2003
05143 (D. FL. 2003). We regard the allocation system employed in that opinion to be inconsistent
with systems in common practice. Use of that system has a potential adverse effect on both the motor

This system is often imprecise as it distributes costs on the basis of a single variable when there are
typically several factors involved, particularly when there are multiple end products sold.
To address this imprecision, we offer a refined costing system which reduces the use of generalized
averages in the allocation of costs. In general, this is accomplished by first dividing the indirect costs
into homogeneous pools so that we can more appropriately distribute them. Second, these cost pools
are allocated on the basis of the driver of that cost segment which ensures that costs are more
accurately tied to their source. Thus, a refined costing system is preferable as it ultimately delivers a
more correct cause and effect relationship between costs and their sources.
Although this system is preferable, it has some disadvantages. First, refined costing systems require
more information about the nature of the costs involved, and often gathering this information results in
additional costs for the firm. Second, even with a broad range of data available, some averaging and
estimations are still necessary. So, without outside motivation, such as the MFMPA, small firms retain
simple costing systems.

analysis shows that the mean of debt/equity ratio is 825.2% which indicates that the debt of banks are
8.25 times more than the total equity which is abnormal in the market as 2 times is perceived to be the
maximum ratio for other sectors if the firm is to maintain a safe position. This shows that banks in Sri
Lanka depend heavily on debt rather than equity. This can also be seen from the mean value of debt to
total fund ratio which is 89% which indicates that banks capital structure is made up of 89% of
leverage and only 11% of

Hamlet And J Alfred Prufrock Comparison
Who wakes up sad, confused, and always contemplating life? While some people may or may not, J.
Alfred Prufrock in the poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T.S Eliot and Prince Hamlet
from the play, Hamlet by William Shakespeare do. While some cannot relate to the two, they are
actually heavily interrelated to each other. Their lives revolve around: important decisions, secrets and
hidden things, as well as, women, love, and seduction. This lifestyle can be lived by most or not, but it
is still interesting to see how that life could end up becoming. The choices made throughout a life may
or may not end up defining a person. Hamlet and J Alfred Prufrock are two characters defined by the
decisions they make, and, in one case, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Persuasive Essay On Road Biking
Road biking is an awesome way to amplify your fitness should you decide to add it to your training.
First and foremost I have always been a mountain biker, with cyclocross being a close second. I much
prefer dirt, dust, mud, and rocks in contrast to smooth black tar of the roads. Playing amongst the trees
and bushes is a frivolity that I enjoy often. Wheels flicking through the loose terrain, sliding left,
sliding right, barely in control of your machine but yet always somehow making it to the bottom of the
trail in one piece.
Mountain biking is about battling against yourself and what nature may throw at you. A big storm
could bring change to a familiar trail. For example, a driving rain throughout the night might create a
giant rut down the center of a fireroad. However, a sandy or dusty trail will wash away leaving a huge
hole unseen until you are almost upon it. Then and only then you have split second decision to make:
should I jump the hole or is an out of control brake slam my only alternative? Mishaps are generally
due to rider error when mountain biking. Comparatively, you may navigate a rock garden too slowly
or careen into a corner too quickly thus landing in the brush. Or probably slide out on a sand patch or
lose speed on a technical climb falling backward (which I have done). As a mountain biker, we have
less external influences when navigating the terrain so any mistakes you may experience can be
chalked up to rider error.

Duddy Kravitz Quotes
In the novel The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, Mordecai Richler tells a coming of age story about
a young boy named Duddy Kravitz. During Kravitz s time in highschool he is a boy driven by the
want to get everything so he can sell it for money. His greed for multiple things throughout his teenage
and adult years becomes an ideology for Duddy and he will not stop at getting what he wants until he
is satisfied. His desire for wealth and fortune throughout the novel becomes a dominant theme and
affects everyone that he is around. Kravitz s greed results in the makeup of some of the most
significant parts of the novel including his downfall.
In the period of the novel where Duddy attends high school, he is introduced as someone who will

Virgil gets into a car accident on his first night out on the truck. The cause of this was an accident but
Duddy took advantage of Virgil even when he knew the job was dangerous (251). Duddy s actions are
starting to affect people on a major level but the greed for money still overpowers his decision and he
moves on to get more money. Yvette distances herself from Duddy and takes over a fulltime job
helping Virgil live his everyday life. These events are all the consequences of Duddy s greed, just so
that he can buy his land. Throughout his coming of age his greed increases and as the novel progresses
he loses more personal things just for money. After he loses his workplace Duddy s greed has already
resulted in a major downfall because it changed the way he acted towards his peers, and after they left
his businesses began to crumble. Ironically Duddy goes back to work the taxi for money, trying to
rebuild himself, and still trying to get money for the lake. His relentless work is both good and bad, as
he is trying to good things but ultimately his greed gets the better of him and he makes a bad decision.
These decisions continue into the final part of the novel where Duddy becomes a man but is so close
to his goal that his greed for money becomes

Summary Of The Jungle By Upton Sinclair
In the Labor Union, many workers advocated for improvements of working conditions. In an excerpt
by Upton Sinclair s The Jungle describes the disgustingness of meatpacking industry and the
horrendous conditions the workers had to be in. Workers had to work at least 16 hours of labor a day
under dreadful working conditions, while being paid low wages. On top of that, many workers would
lose limbs while working; workers would lose their lives at work. The majority of the workers would
be children, due to children not asking for high wages and they are able to get into the machines to
work or fix them. Moreover, an important figure, Albert Parsons, came into the issue by fighting
against the terrible working conditions and demanding less working hour days with a higher wages for
workers. Thus, by the turn of the 20th century late 1800 and early 1900s, labor unions created
restrictions for successful businesses by placing rules that punish the rich on account of striking
against the conditions of work, Albert Parsons actions for less hours and higher wages and Anarchist
rioting. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of striking suggests that strikes punish the rich because it stops production and it is
campaigning to congress that puts on stress. Strikes become a form of restriction for businesses and
the rich by preventing the wealthy from being successful; without workers the businesses can not
succeed. Samuel Gompers introduces the belief of the need to sacrifice for change which is that the
workers are willing to stop working for their rights of better conditions, which can impact their

Rejection of Existentialism Essays
In his defense of existentialism, Sartre first defines the unifying factor of existentialism, (for both
atheist and deist alike), as the belief that existence precedes essence. To help illustrate his point he
presents the example of a paper knife, an object that possess a set of qualities that enable it to carry out
its purpose. He states that it would not have been created without a particular purpose, therefore its
essence precedes its existence. (Sartre) Sartre rejects this idea when it comes to mankind and declares
that humans in themselves have no nature and define themselves after coming into existence. This
stems from his atheistic worldview, in which the rejection of a higher power leads him to accept the
fact that humans are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This theory opposes Sartre by stating that humans were not the first to exist, nonetheless the first
higher functioning organism. If the human essence follows its existence and then gives meaning to
life, this is to say that every life form that existed before humanity was of no meaning or had no
purpose. If everything in the world is defined by the meaning humanity ascribes to it, then the world
pre humanity, by default would be meaningless or nonexistent.
From a creationist stand point, existentialism is challenged in a similar aspect. It begs us to ask the
question where did humanity come from? . It is foolish to deny the fact that biologically, humans are
incredibly complex and had to have originated from somewhere, whether that be a higher power or a
series of mutations. Sartre s claim that humans were the first to exist leads us to accept that humans
are in a sense god or the first to exist without being bound by limits of time, space or reason. This in
itself is a contradiction seeing as how humans are mortal and definitely held within certain boundaries.
While existentialism is often closely associated with the idea of free will, I believe that humans can
have free will without believing that existence precedes essence. This brings me back to Sartre s paper
knife argument. While holistically, it is a simple object, it can be divided into thousands of
subcategories, from its physical properties to its molecular

Capitalism, Racism, Exploitation, And War
Capitalism, I assert is a domineering worldwide system that has allowed for the cultivation of racism,
exploitation and war to exceed through the economic and ideologies of capitalism. The emergence is
compassed through relations and mode of production and projected onto the superstructures of politics
and constructing mental production for accomplishing the aims of the system. The accomplishment
comes at ease through globalisation to expand ideas of labour theory value and division of labour and
hence allows for the firm grip on granting generations of exploitation, war and racism.
Political economist like Adam Smith and Karl Marx have investigated the capitalist system and both
have demonstrated the links to exploitation, racism and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For Marx he states From each according to his ability,to each according to his need is conceptually
related to the concept of a division of labour allows for specialisation as an intrinsic part of the
economic system and the concept is associated with the capitalist system. For Smith categorising
individual skills is the greatest potential for economic growth and he is interested in a free economic
system.
With this categorisation of states and individuals there is a silent rupture of racism, and the
categorisation is placed through into the economic system. Third world countries are not poor because
they have lagged behind the transformation or the enlightenment values of the European state. Its due
to the colonial expansion, countries were integrated into European economic system as producers of
raw materials and serve as cheap labourers and through the tools of power and globalisation it is still
continued. The power during colonialism was the weapons that forced large populations to adapt a
new way of life depicting western culture and values and yet is still placed at the bottom of the
societal pyramid. The idea of degrading positions in the social economic system has developed
throughout the world and is reflected in state apparatus structures and the global capitalist structure by
making racism a by product. Even in western nations certain historical skills are associated with the
race and creates hierarchy, so for instance the

Business Letter To Taco Bell
Hello. I am a student at a high school in Ohio. Recently, our teacher gave us an assignment of writing
a business letter to a food company that makes a product we really enjoy eating or drinking. I
immediately thought of you Taco Bell. Whether it be eating you 12 box of tacos to eat your cinnamon
bites, I happily enjoy eating your food makes my day. Having been around you a lot in my life, i ve
grown to love more and more of your food. When taking a nice big bite out of your Volcano Nachos or
having the cheese sauce hit my lip of all your nachos my taste buds go wild. To have eaten at Taco

Essay on The Consolation of Philosophy
In book III of The Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius establishes the fact that God is the world s
helmsman, the divine reason, the supreme good, the origin of all things. He demonstrates that God is
omnipotent and omniscient. Nothing more superior can even be conceived of. Through the concept of
unity, through which things basically become good, Boethius shows that God and happiness are one,
the divine goodness. He concludes, quot;God is the essence of happiness. quot; (70)
Book IV is the turning point in the theodicy, in the first chapter Boethius is truly puzzled by the
presence of evil in the world. quot; But the greatest cause of my sadness is really this the fact that in
spite of a good helmsman to guide the world, evil can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In regard to the wicked, quot;just as goodness is its own reward, so the punishment of the wicked is
their very wickedness. quot; (93 94) Therefore, the bad actually never escapes punishment, the same
way as the good never goes without reward. Boethius associates wicked people with animals, even
though they take on a physical appearance of a human, their state of mind becomes animal like.
Boethius claims that bad things do happen, and they happen to both good and bad people. However, in
both cases they occur in order to ultimately achieve a greater good. Is it just that people that are
otherwise virtuous, receive bad things? According to Boethius, the answer would be yes, it is just,
because the function of bad things is to make one stronger. quot; What does not kill me, makes me
stronger. quot; (_______) When bad things happen to righteous people, it is to teach them, to remind
them what good is (change) to make sure they remember the most important concepts in life. When
bad things happen to bad people it is to punish them. God governs bad things in order to bring about
good. That leads Boethius to question the fact that criminals often escape punishment, consequently
being rewarded for their wrongdoing.
To further explain the idea that vice is often rewarded is only an appearance, Philosophy begins
discussing punishment. She states that when criminals get punished, they receive something good.
Punishment is rehabilitation, it turns someone bad to see

The unit is about the system of inequalities, system of equations, using constraints, graphing, finding the feasible region, soling for the profit/optimal line, and finding the P.O.I. We began the unit learning about solving for ( x,y ) then subbing 0,0 to find out if they were true or false and graphing them to find the feasible region. Then we learned how to solve a system of equations using two different methods. In this unit we learned how to graph a system of linear inequalities to find and use feasible region. The first step is to get variable y by itself if by moving the variable x to the other side or if y is already alone leave it. After you solve for (y) move on to solving for (x) and put in the (x,y) into the graph. To determine if your (x,y) are true or false you must sub 0,0 for x and y in of your inequality. Once solve for inequalities given, you may find the feasible region in which all inequalities are found. • 4. Black Colleges And Universities ( Hbcus ) Essay Introduction Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) are institutions of higher education in the United States that were established before 1964. As amended by The Higher Education Act of 1965, a part B institution refers to any Historically Black college or university that was established prior to 1964, whose principal mission was, and is, the education of Black Americans, and that is accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or association determined by the Secretary to be a reliable authority as to the quality of training offered or is, according to such an agency or association, making reasonable progress toward accreditation. Though in 1837 Cheyne University of Pennsylvania and 1854 Lincoln University (Pennsylvania) had been established for Black education, Black Colleges and Universities became recognized by the United States Government in the 1890 s. The second Morrill Land Grant Act specified that states using federal higher education funds must provide an education to Black students, either by opening the doors of their public universities to those of African descent, or by establishing schools specifically to serve them. Integration for white public and private institutions was completely out of the question due to the substantial racial divide within the United States so, many Southern states created a completely separate set of institutions serving Blacks. Thus were born many public and private Black colleges. Of the 100+ HBCU s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bhosale Assistant Professor , Department of electronics, A.I.S.S.M.S COE, Pune, India spbhosale@aisssmscoe.com ABSTRACT Increase in resolution of image has been one driving factor in the development and progress of the fields related to the capture, processing and display of digital images and video. Number of authors has carried out research on various techniques on super resolution algorithms which are classified into two basic categories: single frame super resolution and the more common multi frame super resolution . Single frame super resolution is a very ill posed problem due to the lack of any new additional information. Multi frame Super resolution on the other hand presents more information in the form of Low Resolution (LR) frames that are displaced from each other making it a more tractable problem. A related problem to super Resolution (SR) techniques is image restoration, which is well established area in image processing application. Almost all French Canadians opposed conscription because they felt they had no loyalty to France and Britain. Other Canadians were at ease with the conscription as they supported the British Empire. The farmers, union heads, and pacifists were all opposed of the conscription like the French Canadians. These riots erupted over conscription, which grew from how things were before in French Canadian nationalism. The military crackdown that lasted in Quebec until the end of the war resulted in an increase in state power in the growing of French Canadian nationalism. These riots over the conscription and the French Canadians sticking to their ways lead to a many difficult and unpleasant times in Quebec. The Military Services Act had more cons than pros as it destroyed the relationship of the English Canadians and the French Canadians, it limited the freedom of the males by forcing them to attend war and fight, and also caused a dangerous and damaging riot in Quebec. The controversial validity and enforceability of Letter of Indemnity The use of LOI can lead to different effects and especially because of the question of the Validity and the enforceability of this mechanism. According to Professor Tetley, a LOI used against clean B/L are usually the central document to a fraud or an accessory of fraud , and P I Clubs agreed but decided to go deeper by stipulating a general rule that leads to a deny of insurance cover in case of the use of a LOI against clean B/L, delivery of cargo at a different port or against non production of a B/L . Indeed, whereas for the last LOI, the Court estimates that the LOI is fraudulent (because of a false misrepresentation of a material fact ), for the first one, the Court can considered it as fraudulent, especially in absence of guarantee because it imposes an important responsibility on the carrier. According to JP Mattout, LOIs have been the practical way chosen by the parties even if they are far from being the perfect solution . Indeed, the United Kingdom remains a Common Law country, in which there is not a general principle of good faith in contract, even if the principle of equity could be another solution. • 10. Pathophysiology Of Celiac Disease Of Gluten, Wheat,... PATHOPHYSIOLOGY Celiac disease is an enteropathy mediated by an autoimmune response to gluten, a protein complex found in the endosperm of wheat, barley, and rye.1 The immune response is triggered by both environmental and genetic factors in individuals susceptible to the disease resulting in elevated levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA) antibodies to tissue transglutaminase (tTG), duodenal mucosal villi atrophy, and the inability of tight junctions to properly act as a barrier between the gastrointestinal tract and the systemic portion of the body.1 Environmental Factors Consumption of gluten is the root cause of the autoimmune response that initiates the cascade of reactions in the body. Gluten proteins can be fractionated into gliadin and glutenin, which are the environmental factors that trigger the immune response in the small intestine.2 These protein molecule complexes are normally unable to permeate the intestinal epithelial. However, with celiac disease, the integrity of tight junctions is compromised, allowing the protein complex to breach the intestinal lining. The regulatory intestinal peptide zonulin is thought to be responsible for the weakened state of tight junctions.2 Genetic Factors Human leukocyte antigens (HLA) class II genes are recognized as the primary genetic predisposition for celiac disease.3 Patients who are carriers of the HLA DQ2 allele account for 95% of confirmed celiac disease cases.4 The majority of the remaining population with the disease are ... The escalating requirement for wireless communication and broadband services has augmented the attempts to improve the designs for wireless systems. These enhanced wireless systems offer substantial increase in data throughput and link range without the requirement of any additional bandwidth. This led to the development of MIMO Systems. In Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology, multiple antennas are used at both the transmitter and receiver to improve the functioning of the wireless communication system. This can be done by allocating additional bandwidth which is not always feasible due to the limited spectral resources [Alamouti 1998]. Recent studies have proved that using spatial multiplexing MIMO systems can boost the capacity of a wireless communication system significantly without the prerequisite of extra bandwidth. Multipath propagation is an essential component of all wireless communication system. Conventional radio systems rely on the strong primary signal and also make use of multipath mitigation techniques to overcome multipath propagation and interference. Beam forming technology or smart antenna technology is used for this purpose. A smart antenna is capable of routing transmitted beam by scheming the phase of the signal at each element of the antenna array to the receiver. Receiving diversity, this uses numerous antennas at the receiver side and merges all the received signals to improve the signal reliability. These techniques are used to reduce the effect of multipath propagation on the communication systems. The Gold Rush attracted Chinese immigrants who came to California to fill the high demand for laborers. As a result, an anti Chinese Movement was formed followed by the enactment of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 which prevented any additional Chinese immigration into the United States. In short, nearly all of his works have been praised by the public and two of his major works, biographies of John Adams and Harry Truman earned a Pulitzer, two National Book Awards along with two Francis Park Prizes. Ethical Framework In Teleological Framework A case study was done on the closing of a textile manufacturing company in North Carolina, which decided to relocate the business to another country. The decision to transfer was based on the fact that the company would generate more revenue at a lower cost. However, the proponents of such a move were based on an ethical teleological framework decision. However, an ethical leader has certain qualities that are needed to build trust and develop sustainable relationships amongst numerous stakeholders (Eisenbeils Brodbeck, 2014). According to the reading in Unit V, the proponents and decision to move the textile company to Southeast Asia are based on the teleological framework. Teleological is based on one s consequences of action; nevertheless, these results of interests are those that affect the individuals directly. Additionally, teleological ethics determines the value of a moral action or a moral life result from that action or life; consequently, philosophies within teleological ethics are also known as consequentialist ethical theories (Kocyigit Karadag, 2016). With Dorian we refer to a more literal view into his soul, as his portrait is a magical symbol that portrays it. This is perhaps the biggest symbol in Wilde s novel. While I do not disagree with these ideas, I do have an interpretation of my own. I believe that the painting represents humanity as a whole. We are surrounded by darkness but because we carry a light we believe that it is not there, thus we wear a blindfold either because we don t believe that darkness is there or because we are simply too afraid to see ourselves surrounded by it. We need to consider that Kurtz painted this before he went down his dark path, therefore this is a view into his soul before it was touched by darkness. This system is often imprecise as it distributes costs on the basis of a single variable when there are typically several factors involved, particularly when there are multiple end products sold. To address this imprecision, we offer a refined costing system which reduces the use of generalized averages in the allocation of costs. In general, this is accomplished by first dividing the indirect costs into homogeneous pools so that we can more appropriately distribute them. Second, these cost pools are allocated on the basis of the driver of that cost segment which ensures that costs are more accurately tied to their source. Thus, a refined costing system is preferable as it ultimately delivers a more correct cause and effect relationship between costs and their sources. Although this system is preferable, it has some disadvantages. First, refined costing systems require more information about the nature of the costs involved, and often gathering this information results in additional costs for the firm. Second, even with a broad range of data available, some averaging and estimations are still necessary. So, without outside motivation, such as the MFMPA, small firms retain simple costing systems. First and foremost I have always been a mountain biker, with cyclocross being a close second. I much prefer dirt, dust, mud, and rocks in contrast to smooth black tar of the roads. Playing amongst the trees and bushes is a frivolity that I enjoy often. Wheels flicking through the loose terrain, sliding left, sliding right, barely in control of your machine but yet always somehow making it to the bottom of the trail in one piece. Mountain biking is about battling against yourself and what nature may throw at you. A big storm could bring change to a familiar trail. For example, a driving rain throughout the night might create a giant rut down the center of a fireroad. However, a sandy or dusty trail will wash away leaving a huge hole unseen until you are almost upon it. Then and only then you have split second decision to make: should I jump the hole or is an out of control brake slam my only alternative? Mishaps are generally due to rider error when mountain biking. Comparatively, you may navigate a rock garden too slowly or careen into a corner too quickly thus landing in the brush. Or probably slide out on a sand patch or lose speed on a technical climb falling backward (which I have done). In an excerpt by Upton Sinclair s The Jungle describes the disgustingness of meatpacking industry and the horrendous conditions the workers had to be in. Workers had to work at least 16 hours of labor a day under dreadful working conditions, while being paid low wages. On top of that, many workers would lose limbs while working; workers would lose their lives at work. The majority of the workers would be children, due to children not asking for high wages and they are able to get into the machines to work or fix them. Moreover, an important figure, Albert Parsons, came into the issue by fighting against the terrible working conditions and demanding less working hour days with a higher wages for workers. Thus, by the turn of the 20th century late 1800 and early 1900s, labor unions created restrictions for successful businesses by placing rules that punish the rich on account of striking against the conditions of work, Albert Parsons actions for less hours and higher wages and Anarchist rioting. ... • 43. Rejection of Existentialism Essays In his defense of existentialism, Sartre first defines the unifying factor of existentialism, (for both atheist and deist alike), as the belief that existence precedes essence. To help illustrate his point he presents the example of a paper knife, an object that possess a set of qualities that enable it to carry out its purpose. He states that it would not have been created without a particular purpose, therefore its essence precedes its existence. This theory opposes Sartre by stating that humans were not the first to exist, nonetheless the first higher functioning organism. If the human essence follows its existence and then gives meaning to life, this is to say that every life form that existed before humanity was of no meaning or had no purpose. If everything in the world is defined by the meaning humanity ascribes to it, then the world pre humanity, by default would be meaningless or nonexistent. From a creationist stand point, existentialism is challenged in a similar aspect. It begs us to ask the question where did humanity come from? . It is foolish to deny the fact that biologically, humans are incredibly complex and had to have originated from somewhere, whether that be a higher power or a series of mutations. Sartre s claim that humans were the first to exist leads us to accept that humans are in a sense god or the first to exist without being bound by limits of time, space or reason. This in itself is a contradiction seeing as how humans are mortal and definitely held within certain boundaries. While existentialism is often closely associated with the idea of free will, I believe that humans can have free will without believing that existence precedes essence. This brings me back to Sartre s paper knife argument. While holistically, it is a simple object, it can be divided into thousands of subcategories, from its physical properties to its molecular ...
