A Short Note On B2b And B2c Marketing
Differences in eCommerce for B2B and B2C Marketing
Differences in eCommerce for B2B and B2C Marketing
Building a B2B eCommerce platform generates big differences from trying to market retail
products to consumers. Unlike B2C marketing, cultivating each potential buyer is more critical and
challenging. Most business buyers are highly educated, logical and perceptive, so they tend to
appreciate platforms that offer them conveniences for researching products and product lines,
managing complex shipping strategies and handling special needs such as winning approval from
buying committees or multiple decision makers. That s why it s important to develop a business
marketing strategy that incorporates buyer identification, expedited searches for product and, third
party information about product specifications and supply chains. B2B platforms share some
similarities with B2C websites, but there are many inherent differences that marketers need to
understand.
Traditionally, B2C versus B2B was often defined as business marketers being more sensitive to
price, customer loyalty and working business relationships while B2C marketers tried to create
excitement for their products through emotional connections. While this definition remains true,
the lines are blurred because B2B companies now use B2C techniques, social media and heightened
user experiences to nurture long term business relationships. The goal of a savvy business marketer
is to generate an emotional response for the

Factors Affecting The Generic Drug Industry
Spending growth in generic drugs has slowed considerably from 42% in 2011 to 10% currently.
IMS Health predicts the growth to maximize at 90% of the prescription market (Salazar, 2015).
Though there is not much room between generic drugs currently representing 83% of prescription
drugs and the predicted 90% maximum, the next twelve months appear a safe investment period for
the generic drugindustry when considering the currently growth rate. Many factors influence
success in the generic drug industry; among the influences is the need for an alternative to
higher priced brand name drugs. This was the original purpose of generic drugs. Initially,
generics offered a considerable price benefit over brand drugs with a reduction of at least 60%
for specialty drugs and 80% for oral prescriptions (Taylor, 2015). Recently, the rising cost of
generics has drawn much scrutiny. Many factors contribute to the increased cost of generics.
According to Salazar, increased product quality regulations, less new products entering the market,
inflation, and the increased number of former prescription drugs being offered over the counter
have all lead to higher generic drug pricing. An additional motive for the increased cost of generics
may be pure greed. Price hikes as exorbitant as 5000% have occurred in recent months in some
generic drugs. Taylor attributes the price hikes to the increased need for innovation and the lack of
competition in generic drug manufacturers. These

The Aspect Of Language Development
Introduction
Nowadays, with continuous enhancement of economy and culture globalization, bilingual or
multilingual speakers are increasing all around world. In United States, one out of five elementary
school students speak another language other than English at home. Although some parents prefer
their children exposed to monolingual environment, the mainstream trend is more and more
children in America speak one language at home but another language at school, or use both first
and second language at school. Bilingual education becomes more and more important for bilingual
children growing up in target language environment. Commonly, children learn second language
through two different sequences, one is simultaneous acquisition, and another is sequential
acquisition. Which means they can choose to learn two languages at same time, or study second
language after first language is well mastered. But for babies or toddlers under three years old,
they seem to receive language passively; lots of people wonder how could these toddlers develop
two languages and how could parents or bilingual educators guide them effectively. This paper aims
to review literature on the aspect of language development of Bilingual toddlers; the theory results
would contribute to effectively develop one to three years old bilingual toddlers language
acquisition.
Research Questions
There are two research questions:
1. What are the language development achievements of bilingual toddlers from age one

Sleep Disorders And Sleep Disorder
Every single person in the world sleeps, but why or what exactly makes us sleep? This is a very
good question because everyone does it without actually thinking about it. Knowing or even
trying to understand how one sleeps can be a very interesting topic to dissect. This also gives
researchers a wide area of study for collecting data and then interpreting that data for doctors to
help patients. It is important to learn and study sleep, especially if one has one or more sleeping
disorder(s). We can study that behavior and find ways to remedy or even cure whichever sleep
disorder(s) you may have. Not getting adequate sleep can cause many everyday tasks to be rather
difficult to accomplish and also even make every day learning and remembering more difficult.
Not only remembering during the day, but also remembering when you are sleeping. You may be
asking, remembering when you sleep? Well, when you get an insufficient amount of sleep you
become more prone to sleep disorders such as parasomnia and obstructive sleep apnea. Sleep is a
topic that many neuropsychologists would like to study in order to better understand the body in
its state of rest and even find how sleep is related to crime and in more appalling cases, murder.
First, why do we sleep? Sleep is a very complex and sometimes a very hard to understand matter of
human life. We all know that sleep is a necessity and if we don t get an adequate amount then things
start to deteriorate in our mind and body. Thomas Edison

The Effects Of European Colonization Of Africa
When we bethink the European Empire, we reminisce of an illustrious, paramount empire that had
once dominated most of the world. But, were they all as stupendous as they seemed? The Age of
Discovery was a dark, hellish era Europeans were unsurpassable, conquering and enslaving a large
miscellany of civilisations leaving them with barren fields and waterless lakes. These civilisations
ranged from small tribes to extensive continents; one of which was modern day Africa.
Unquestionably, European colonisation was the prominent factor towards underdevelopment in
Africa. The European colonisers demonstrated exploitation of local Africans and their resources, the
destruction of Africa s political system, and the subdivision of traditional ethnic... Show more

European explorers drained and controlled Africa of its people and natural resources. In the mid
1400s, European settlers implemented and utilised an intricate trading system known as Triangular
Trade . This transatlantic trading system exported African resources and deported enslaved
Africans to the Americas. Therefore, this forced the removal of millions, countless Africans,
many of which were skilled tradesmen or women with a variety of professions who could no
longer aid the African society. Hence, this weakened Africa as a whole, which also significantly
damaged its economy (The Underdevelopment of). Furthermore, the slave trading industry severely
debilitated the Gold Coast economy of West Africa. The frequent acts of slave raiding and constant
kidnapping by the Europeans made it highly dangerous to mine the land or transport and travel
with gold products. Therefore, the insistence for slaves made bringing out local Africans as
captives much more beneficial and lucrative than the industry of gold mining, and as a result,
abolished the gold trade (The Underdevelopment of). Moreover, Europeans utilised and took full
advantage of their exceptional and distinguished technology and high caliber military power to
regulate Africa s import and export

Reusable Software Development Essay
The quality and reliability of software today is expected to be extremely high. Software is being
included in engines of automobiles, robots, x ray machines at hospitals; it is no surprise that
software is expected to operate correctly almost all the time. This reliability comes at a cost of
increasing complexity. With the increase in complexity, software development teams are getting
larger and maintenance is becoming more difficult. Although developers are dealing with these
problems project dates are still very rigorous and projects can seem impossible to complete on
time. Due to these problems, software development costs are rising which is increasing the cost of
software for consumers. Without new practices to develop software... Show more content on

Reuse base software development uses a similar methodology. By using what has already been
created we can modify or improve it to make a better product then what has been previously
developed. While software reuse may not alleviate all the problems the developer faces it can
certainly help lower the demands put on the development team. Reuse based software
development requires a different methodology to create large robust systems that can be used
again and again. A traditional software development methodology isn t efficient enough to create
reusable software. While smaller systems can be reused with relative ease, larger systems have a
cost associated to developing them with reuse in mind. Project planning must include extra time
for designing, implementing and testing these reusable assets as opposed to system specific
functionality. There also may be costs associated with training people on these new tools and
assets that are required to be used with a reuse base software methodology. Therefore, companies
are usually reluctant in incorporating software reuse into their development cycle, but over the past
10 years there has been a gradual transition to reuse based development. The move to reuse based
development is in response to companies seeing their software as a valuable asset and are
promoting reuse to increase their return on software investments (Sommerville, 416). Using

Flinders Range Biome
A biome is a large area or habitat that occupies the earth. Animals, plants along with flora and
fauna occupy biome habitats. They cleverly adapt to their environment and geographical location.
The area that I have chosen to research are the Flinders Ranges. The Flinders Rangers are in
South Australia, covering 37,000 square kilometres. The biome expands from Crystal Brook in the
south to Mount Hopeless in the north. There are several main general features associated with this

Compare And Contrast The Iphone 7 Plus Vs. Samsung Galaxy...
Compare and Contrast
Ecstatic, anxious, and thrilled are the emotions that run through seemingly every single teenager
when the newest smartphone hits the market. Yet, numerous teens run into the same debate every
time the top smartphone creators release their new devices. Teens are presented with the dilemma
of choosing which phone to buy. In order to decide teens will often rely on peer pressure,
whichever phone is released first, or the phone that their parents choose. The iPhone 7 Plus and the
Samsung Galaxy S8+ are the most recent releases that have imposed distress upon teens trying to
choose one phone over the other. However, when contrasting the iPhone 7 Plus and the Samsung
Galaxy S8+ is it undeniable that teens should prefer to buy the Samsung Galaxy S8+ due to the
fact that it is the considerably superior device.
For teens who rely on their parents to pay for their phones, or work in order to buy their own
phones the deciding factor on which phone to buy is the price. According to the Apple.com, the
iPhone 7 Plus retails for $969 with a charge port included. It is important to mention that this
does not include accessories such as earbuds. Everything else is sold separately. According to
Samsung.com, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ retails for $850 with included accessories such as
earbuds, USB cord, and a charging port. Although the difference in price may only be about
$100 this can make a significant difference. When buying new phone teens, will expectedly want
to buy accessories for it. Such as a case, earbuds, screen protector and so on. Taking all these
facts into consideration it is obvious that the SGs8+ is the better option. The Samsung
accessories retail at lower prices and some of the accessories come included when the phone is
purchased. Purchasing the iPhone 7 plus and all the desired accessories surely bring the bill to
over $1000 which few parents will want to pay for a phone. The SGS8+ is a much cheaper choice
with even more significant qualities.
In addition to the cost, customers and the companies that create smartphones, focus on the quality of
the smartphone. Quality consists of numerous factors such as the camera quality, screen resolution,
sound quality, microphone quality and so

Slavery in the North and South of the US Essay
So many people wanted slaves, especially in the South. They had more farms than they could
handle on their own. Northern owners wanted them because they would have to do less work.
Very few owners treated their slaves nicely and paid them to do work around the house. They
would not be treated like familybut would get treated a whole lot better than your typical slave.
Those kinds of circumstances occurred more in the Northern states than the Southern states.
Most slaves lost contact with their family members when they were captured to be sold and
shipped off to somewhere the families had no idea of. Slaves in the North would try their best to
keep in contact with their aunts, uncles, and children, but unfortunately for the most ... Show more

The South had ways to keep slaves under control. They would keep them in groups of three or
four. The owners woulds also not let them go anywhere after dark and if they wanted to leave
during the day they would have to have a signed paper by their owner saying they can do
whatever it is that they want to do. They would try so hard to just escape to the North and if they
could to Canada. Reason is, they were technically free, but at the same time they had no rights but
they were not as mistreated in the north as they were in the south. Also it was illegal to marry
slaves in the South so that was also a reason they would leave so they could marry.
Slaves in the North and South were terrified of the thought of being sold to some other owner.
All of the slaves, no matter the gender, had to strip down all the way in front of everyone and
would have to stand there naked to be investigated by the people that wanted to buy them. The
people selling the slaves knew buyers would examine the bodies of the slaves they wanted to buy
therefore were sneaky about covering up any scars and bruises the slaves had by puting make up
on them to cover them up, and make them appear stronger than they were. The people that went for
this to buy them were looking for men that were strong and that looked young. They wanted
attractive women for themselves or in general so they would set them up with a male to have
babies. They then could keep their

Characteristics Of The High Renaissance
This research paper looks at the High Renaissance and the artists that it had produced during this
period. During this time period there were three individuals that had dominated the art world. These
three artists are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Even though this paper discusses
about the High Renaissance and the three who dominated it, the main focus of the paper is on
Leonardo Da Vinci. Even though he mad such famous paintings, he was not a prolific painter; he
was prolific draftsman as well as a great engineer, architect, inventor, and scientist. Besides having
many famous paintings, Da Vinci also had thousands of drawings, sketches, and doodles that he is
famous for. The drawings contained many notes of what he was interested. There are drawings of
the study of the human body, of his inventions and just things he see is interesting. In art history,
the High Renaissance period refers to a short period in which there was an exceptional artistic
production in the Italian states. The reason why this part of the Reniasance period is called the
High Renaissance is because it has been seen as the time in which the artistic aim and goals of the
Renaissance has reached their greatest application (n.d.). The High Renaissance style was the
dominant art style during 16th century Italy. Many historians believe that three individuals
dominated this time period of art. These individuals are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and
Raphael. The oldest of the three was Leonardo Da Vinci
Leonardo Da Vinci was a universal genius. He was not only just the best painter of the world at the
time, but he was also known as a great inventor, architect, engineer and scientist. Even though he
was great in many fields, he is mostly known from his achievements as the painter of many famous
Renaissance art masterpieces.
Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 near the village of Vinci, which is 25 miles away from
Florence. Da Vinci was the illegitimate son of a local of Florence and a prominent notary
Florence, Ser Piero Da Vinci. Not much of his childhood is known, but as a teen he became an
apprentice of Andrea del Verrochio, the leading artist of Florence and the early Reniassance (2017).

Problems Of Traditional American Education
Antonia Darder sets a language in Culture and Power in the Classroom that critiques the traditional
American educational system while challenging teachers to a new thinking of culture and diversity
in the classroom. Using the groundings from several theories, theory and resistance, regimes of
truth, and theory of hegemony, she set the platform of the hidden curriculum that is valued in
traditional public education. She seeks to use several theoretical frameworks to create a bicultural
critical pedagogical approach, which links education to impactful politics. In Culture and Power in
the Classroom, Antonia Darder makes is clear that education matters, but yet more importantly that
all students matter in their educational experience. As educators there needs to be awareness and
consciousness of the hegemonic forces of race, class, culture, ethnicity, gender, and/or ability shape
that inferiority within students. Cultural hegemony is so natural, that even in the classroom
students are immune to the shoddiness of living within the realms of the dominant culture. Darder
exposes the problems of traditional American pedagogy. The conventional liberal and conservative
discourse of nature versus nature do not challenge the structural underachievement of bicultural
students. The use of meritocracy, intelligence testing, track and ability grouping, curriculum, and
expectations of teachers perpetuate the blame of students rather than the structure of traditional

The National Broadcasting Company (NBC) is a popular American broadcast network. Founded in
1926 (Fletcher), NBC has grown to feature many segments, one of which is Saturday Night Live

actor portraying Donald Trump as he transitions to the White House is seen having brief
conversations with various political characters such as Mitt Romney, Republican campaign
manager Kellyanne Conway, and future vice president Mike Pence. Through the use of satire
within the segment NBC aims to emphasize a popular Democratic opinion that Trump is most

Once again this was done to retroactively confirm the opinions the predominantly Democratic
audience held, but in this instance towards Trump supporters. The demographic of white voters
without a college degree heavily favour Donald Trump, constituting for the majority of those
supporting Trump (Mcgill). Within a brief conversation between Trump and one of his
supporters, the supporter said, It is an honor sir... I ve been out of work for two years now, rough
times but then you came and said that you were gonna bring every single job back to our town
(YouTube). NBC effectively personified the stereotypes of the demographic targeted within their
showcase, including the perceptions that the audience had towards Trump supporters. By scripting
that the worker has been unemployed for 2 years and that he believes all jobs will return to
America in the aftermath of Trumps presidency, NBC portrays Trump supporters as being lethargic,
superficial, and oblivious. Once again this adheres to the opinions that the Democratic audience
held towards Trump supporters, and humorously satisfies the audience as they perceive NBC as
validating their pre existing opinions that Trump supporters are indeed lethargic, superficial, and
oblivious. In result this bolsters the reputation of NBC in the eyes of the Democratic audience, thus
effectively gaining a larger audience due to the marketing concept above. NBC retroactively
confirms the opinions the majority of its audience already had on Trump supporters, effecting their
outlook on NBC in a positive way, and thus effectively portraying Trump supporters as lethargic,

Rappaccini s Daughter Discussion Questions
I think these questions can best be answered through Hawthorne s Rappaccini s Daughter. Before
I answer those questions by using that particular story, I do want to say a couple of things about
The Minister s Black Veil. I know there s supposed to be some sadness and a great message to
this story, but I can t help it it made me laugh a lot. The gossiping, the speculation, the way that a
stupid piece of material could totally change who someone was to everyone even though nothing
about him really changed all of that made me laugh. One of the funniest things, and maybe it s
not supposed to be funny but was to me, was when Mr. Hooper s sermon style or plea to his
parishioners, was one of mild persuasive influences. That description really made me laugh, and so

Hooper was funny to me. The story just didn t affect me in the way that maybe it affects some
people, and it s hard for me to answer these questions through that story, because the humor in it
kept me from determining whether it was cryptic or straightforward. I guess I didn t find that
story to be tragic, but Rappaccini s Daughter is quite the opposite for me. While I thought it was
straightforward and not cryptic, I did find Rappaccini s Daughter to be completely depressing. I
believe the meaning is very clear at the end. To me, it was saying that selfish intentions of wanting
more often lead to the destruction of the really truly important things in life of the simple and
beautiful things. Rappaccini was so obsessed with his experiments and his own genius that he
didn t seem to mind risking his own simple yet beautiful daughter. During her entire life, he did
this! Eventually, it hit him what he had done to his own daughter. He realized he was the reason
she lived a life of loneliness and seclusion. Sadly, he realized too late

Explain The Key Features Of Classic Welfare State
1 Identify and Explain the Key Feature of the Classic Welfare State Abstract
Welfare State is a government concept that describes the role of the state in promoting and
protecting the economic as well as every citizen s social well being. In Marcus Danver s map 2013,
Classic Welfare Stateis linked to several key features which include Education, Housing, Health
Care, Social Security, Personal Social Services, Full employment, and Churchill s Response to the
New Dear. The theory behind the welfare states key features encompass the equality in providing

One of these is the Regime Approach. the ideology behind this approach has different versions,
one supports universal access, the other one is supporting the responsibility of every private
citizen, and support as well as provide social support only those who are poor. Another approach
is the Institutional approach where it supports social policies such as pensions, policies for work
accidents, unemployment benefits, as well as sickness pay. Expenditure is the third welfare state
approach that focuses in providing and spending generously for the social protection as well as
social services.
The Key Features of Classic Social Welfare (Marc Denvers 2014)
Based from the Mind Map which was created and published by Marcus Denvers (2013) titled
New Deal Classic Welfare State , included in its key features is the Churchill s Response to the

Dueling In Germany Essay
Dueling may sound familiar among aristocratic men in 19th Century Germany, but is it a must to
be done when one men feel offended by another? Whether with bloodshed or not, dueling was
seen by society as the only way to ensure harmonious reconciliation between the men involved in
a dispute with each other (Frevet, 167). However, it is questionable as to whether dueling would
result in the superficial reconciliation if the cause was a serious provocation like adultery (Frevet,
176). In addition, dueling was seen as a way to prevent war, promote self discipline as well as
masculinity. As the outcome, only those intellectually educated, or commonly distinguished as

Drawing from the case of the duel in Kessin, Innstetten s settlement on his challenge to Crampas
weighed more on the substantial cultural norm at the time. This is evident when he conversed

must constantly have regard for that larger whole, we re dependent on it, beyond a doubt. If it

honor and loyalty, for Innstetten, the thought of ignoring society worried him more as it was
seemingly unacceptable to live against what is supposed to be done (Fontane Chapter 27 ). Also,
by challenging Crampas to a duel, Innstetten showed respect to the man that may not deserve it, as
he put the both of them on the principle of equality and so called fair chance, which was an
existential guarantee for society s satisfaction (Frevet 168). Consequently, the duel was not a result

The Importance of Class in American Discourse, and the...
Americans avoid broaching the subject of class in America, notes Mantsios (2006). To support
his claim, Mantsios (2006) states that most poor people in the United States identify first with
their racial heritage, ethnic heritage, or geographic location. Members of the working class do
not consider themselves part of a collective of workers, but rather as employees of a specific
company. References to a middle class are, according to Mantsios (2006), usually done by
politicians to pander to the broadest possible constituency, (p. 183). When relative wealth or
poverty is addressed in the mainstream media, it is done so without reference to the structural
issues that cause income disparity. Mantsios (2006) proceeds to outline several myths, including
the overarching myth that America is a classless society (p. 183). The second of his four main
myths related to class in America is that Despite some variations in economic status, most
Americans have achieved relative affluence in what is widely recognized as a consumer society,
(p. 184). Certainly, to a villager in Zimbabwe a poor American might seem to have relative
affluence. Yet within the broader scheme of American society, it seems insulting to claim validity to
this myth. Mantsios (2006) offers some hypothetical case studies to highlight the importance of
class in American discourse, and the falsehood of the myth of universal affluence. Bob Farrell s

Endocrine Systems And The Endocrine System
Introduction: When speaking about each of the diverse systems in the body, the endocrine system
is much of the time overlooked and is easily confused with the excretory system. The endocrine
system works with the nervous system in order to maintain homeostasis in the body. Independently
the endocrine system is a small group of glandslocated throughout the body, which include the
pineal, adrenal, and thymus glands. Each gland in the endocrine systemproduces, stores, and
releases hormones so when working properly the endocrine system plays an important role in the
body functioning correctly and staying healthy. The glands of the endocrine system work through a
feedback structure. For example, the hypothalamuswill send a signal in the form of a hormone to the
pituitary gland that stimulates the pituitary gland to release a hormone into circulation. The
hormone secreted by the pituitary gland will then stimulate a target gland which will then in turn
secrete its own hormone. When the levels of this target gland get higher the hypothalamus and
pituitary glands will slow down or completely stop secreting each of their hormones. This type of
regulated feedback system results in a stable blood concentration of the hormones that are regulated
by those glands responsible. (Derrickson 2012)

Discussion: Each of the labeled glands has a specific function. When a person is put under extreme

surprise, Gatsby did own a horse and he claimed it to be the fastest horse in the East. Gatsby
would ride in the army and since then has grown very fond of horseback riding. Tom, being a

Tom s horse felt a restraint and Gatsby pulled up easily and took the win. Wolsheim had made an

Jay Z: The power of perception The human experience in general is essentially the same for every
individual. Us or We humans as a whole undergo similar life events such as birth, after that we
experience growth and then finally death (Seger 386). These individual experiences (and more)
when combined tend to form a story line. Although the storylines tend to differ from person to
person, one thing, which is consistent in every storyline, are the characters. In these storylines the
characters are modeled after specific archetypes, which Kent Wertime describes as Invisible

Jay Z is effectively able to utilize not just one but three different archetypes the gangster, the
businessman/ruler and the reformer in order to build a large following, achieve massive success
in the music industry and become the de facto leader for the black community. Throughout his
extensive career, Jay Z was continuously able to rebrand and mold himself in to different
archetypes. When he first stepped in to the public scene, the rapper established himself as the ex
drug dealer by fully utilizing the gangster archetype. This archetype was quite popular among the
rappers at the time because the hip hop community and fans alike stressed on the importance of
having street credibility . Generally speaking a gangster is defined as someone who participates in
organized crime and racketeering whether it be drugs, theft, murder etc. Archetype expert Matthew
Sorrento describes the gangster as an assertive, self made man [who] in trying times, went against
the law to make the world his own (9). Although the reasons as to why people chose this criminal
path is sometimes unknown, the most logical reason is that many of these individuals come from
poor and impoverished backgrounds (Sorrento 9). As a result these individuals resort to criminal
activities as a way of earning an income and securing themselves, their partners and their loved ones
financially. To be a gangster one must have

The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The treaty that ended the...
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which came into effect on 2 February 1848, ended the Mexican
American war and formally resolved territorial disputes resulting from that conflict. The treaty
required the U.S. government to pay the Mexican government $15 million dollars, this in return for
an expanse of territory that later became the states of Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of Utah,
Nevada, and Colorado. I intend to argue that the treaty benefitted the people who inhabited, and
later came to inhabit, that territory. I also propose that, as a result of the transfer of territory from a
dictatorial regime to one that was based on democratic principles, both Mexico and the United
Statesultimately benefitted in several ways.
The Treaty of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was, at the time, one of the most populous cities in Northern Mexico, having a population of
of nearly fifteen thousand inhabitants. (The Mexican War 33). About the same time, Taylor and
his army won the battle of Buena Vista. The terrain in northern Mexico is difficult, and water
scarce. Perhaps this is why, after a number of arduous campaigns in the north, Taylor seemed to
lose interest in fighting. Instead of pressing south towards the Mexican capital, he was content to
remain in the north. Because of his lack of fighting spirit, Pres. James Polk lost faith in him as a
leader. Instead, he turned to General Winfield Scott, who lost no time in making for the Mexican
capital. The American army and generals proved significantly superior to the Mexican forces and
in less than a year and a half the American army had captured Mexico City and the Mexican
Republic had to sue for an unfavorable peace. (The Mexican American War).
The treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo contained twenty articles. The most important of these were the
payment of $15 million already mentioned, and the transfer of territory. The U.S. pledged to
withdraw its troops from the Mexican capital, cease its blockading of Mexican ports, and to
withdraw all of its forces from Mexico within three months of the signing of the treaty.
In the territories ceded to the United States, the Mexicans there resident were allowed to

The Crime Of Organized Crime
When I hear the term organized crime, I associate it with The Mafia , Scarface , and Cartels .
Organized crime can be defined in a variety of ways. It is an ongoing criminal enterprise that is
wisely working to generate profit engaging in illegal activities depending on demand, where its
presence is preserve through force, intimidations, and corruption. According to the FBI, organized
crimeis basically a group of transnational, national, or local alliances of highly centralized
enterprises run by crooks who make illicit profit or money through illegal and often violent
activities (Abadinsky, 1981, p. 2).
The Task Force on Organized crime states that, the core of organized crime activity is the
supplying of illegal goods and services gambling, loan sharking, narcotics and other forms of vice
to countless numbers of citizen customers (Abadinsky, 1981, p. 267). However, the business of
organized frequently consists of activities that are neither services nor goods, instead they are
undoubtedly scrounging. The connection among illicit business and organized crime can take one
of three following forms: first we have the parasitic form, where associates of a criminal
organization extract money from illegal businesspersons by intimidating them with violence
(Abadinsky, 1981, p. 267). The second from is reciprocal: members of a criminal organization
require genuine or illegal entrepreneurs to pay a secure or percentage sum, then in return they

Communication, by my own means, is a way to for two or more people to interact or influence

millions. Communication is the single most important aspect in our human society, that without it,
the chances of survival are finite. There are about five key elements of communication and the each

After seeing the torment Glass is putting himself through his colleagues simultaneously agree to
help him. This shows how Glass would not take no for an answer, and until he gets a response that
is in his favor, he is willing to behave in ways that strongly touch people s emotions, causing an
immediate feedback.
The second element example is source (sender), where the sender attempts to replicate his or her
internal thoughts or feelings into someone else by some type of external messaging medium.
Every time you would hear a word come out of Glass s mouth his main intent would be to
influence some kind of relationship or loyalty. For example in the beginning of the scene when
he tells Gloria (an employee at The New Republic ) that she has a nice necklace, or the scene where
he is telling his college how he feels as if Chuck Lane (the new head editor of The New Republic )
is trying to remove everyone loyal to Michael Kelly ( the former well loved head editor ) by
firing him, are all ways of him building a relationship or loyalty by using common interest
between he colleagues even if he has no interest at all. This is his attempt to build an army so
when he is ever being chastised he would always have someone there to back him up.
Now the last element example is channel, which is the medium of communication in which the
message is transferred. In this movie the use of phones and the internet was in constant use for

Enlightened Despots Enlightened despots believed that political change could best come from
above; from the ruler. However, they were encouraged by the philosophers to make good laws to
promote human happiness. How did these monarchs differ from earlier unenlightened monarchs of
the past? The difference lay in tempo. These new despots acted abruptly and desired quicker
results. They were impatient with all that stood in the way of their reforms. In addition, they
justified their authority on the grounds of usefulness, not divine right. These new monarchs were
rational and reformist and they regarded political change as possible and desirable. Frederick the

Catherine the Great was the German wife of Peter III. She corresponded actively with Voltaire
and other prominent eighteenth century thinkers, and paid lip service to their liberal ideas; but
she did little to reform or modernize Russia. She introduced such western ideas as pleased her, at
the same time increasing Russian autocracy and military power. In addition, she extended Russia
s boundaries southward and westward. Catherine joined with Austria and Prussia in three
partitions that completely eliminated independent Poland. On the death of Charles VI (1740),
the Habsburg dominions passed to his twenty three year old daughter Maria Theresa. The
German princes ignored the Pragmatic Sanction (1713) guaranteeing her succession, and looked
forward to partitioning the Habsburg s lands. Frederick the Great, who had just inherited the
Prussian throne, was first to strike. He invaded Silesia and won solid victories. Maria Theresa
soon demonstrated that she had a strong mind and will of her own. She went to Hungary s
Magyar nobles and appealed for support. In exchange for her promise of sovereignty within the
Habsburg Empire, the Magyars offered her loyalty and the troops necessary to resist the invaders.
With Hungarian troops and British and Dutch financial aide she was able to fight Prussia to a

Resendiz Introduction A topic of great importance to all scientists is the identification of
compounds, which is relevant in all aspects of their work in some way shape or form. Weather it
may be determining what is causing sickness or what is polluting the air, it is very prevalent in the
science world. In project 2, identification of cations and anions was preformed through a series of
confirmation and elimination tests that ultimately led to identifying an unknown ionic compound
made of cations and anions. Materials and Methods Part 1 Cation Tests To begin, 5 centrifuge

The mixture was then transferred to a clean centrifuge tube via pipet, carefully not wetting the
upper walls of the tube. Zinc granules were then added and the tube was immediately plugged
with cotton 1/3 of the way into the tube. The tube was then warmed in a hot water bath for about
5 minutes, the folded red litmus paper was inserted at the top of the tube with a wet crease. After
a few minutes, nitrate is indicated on the wet crease of the litmus paper, turning it blue. For the
Carbonate test, 25 mg of carbonate sample was added to a centrifuge tube and 3 drops of 6 M
H2SO4 was added. A disposable pipet was used to transfer a drop of Ba(OH)2, that hung directly
from the pipet over the carbonate solution, and the observations of the drop were recorded. Part
3 Cation and Anion Analysis For the cation analysis, 0.566 g of an unknown compound was

as a stock solution. A flame test was performed on the stock solution to give a general idea of
what test was to e preformed on the stock solution deriving the information from our logic trees

What Is A Tent Foot
What is a tent foot? What you need to know.
Have you ever struggled to understand what a tent footprint is? Or have you ever struggled to
understand why people need tent foots?
We ll I m here to answer that. I think that it is important to know what a tent foot is because it is
such a useful tool when camping, that it can save the underneath of your tent from damage while
you are camping.
So what is a tent footprint, really?
Think of a tent footprint like the foundation of the tent. What this tent foot does is it protects the
underneath of your tent from any wear and tear.
Normally, tent foot s come attached to the tent itself so you don t necessarily have to worry about
buying a new one. However, many tents are waterproof underneath. ... Show more content on

Believe it or not, when you are doing the tossing and turning, you are causing abrasions on the
ground material of the tent.
Over time, the friction from those abrasions will tear the underneath of the tent apart.
Are there any other uses for the tent foot?
Tent footprints can be used as a form of insulation underneath your tent. When the tent foot is
underneath your tent, the tent foot will trap warm air underneath your tent to provide you warmth
for as long as possible.
The tent footprint also makes sure that packing up the tent is as easy as possible. Since the tent
itself will be on top of the tent footprint, the tent will stay dry underneath. That means that you don t
have to spend as much time cleaning the tent before packing up.
One other way that tent footprints can help, other than protecting the tent from damage, is by
helping you place your corners of the tent. When you buy your tent, the tent foot will nearly be the
exact dimension as the tent footprint.
As for the waterproofing; just because some tents are waterproof, doesn t mean that a tent footprint
cannot add an extra waterproofing layer underneath the tent. It is generally a good idea to have as
many extra layers of water

How Democratic Was Andrew Jackson Dbq
Was Andrew Jackson the democratic figure our great nation needed in the mid 1800 s? From
1828 to 1836, Andrew Jackson served as president in the United States of America. During that
time, the country was torn in half due to controversies such as the eviction of the national bank,
the Indian Removal, and the spoils system. Although some people believed Jackson was fair to
the common man, Jackson acted undemocratically during his presidency because he was not fair

of his actions against the national bank. On July 10th, 1832, Jackson sent a bank veto message to

Argumentative Essay Zoos
Do zoos benefit and improve the lives of animals, or are they catastrophic and disastrous to all
these creatures? This has been a huge debate ever since zoos have been created. Numerous people
believe they are horrid and an issue to animals. In reality, zoos benefit and improve the lives of
these animals for a great amount of reasons.
To illustrate, zoos promote animal conservation. Most animals that have lived in a zoo never
experienced the wild. According to the Conversation, it implies, Everyone believes the wild is a
safer habitat than in zoos, despite drastic threats of climate change, increased poaching, and
destruction of animal s habitats for palm oil. Other examples of how zoos promote animal

The Canon of Scripture Essay
Most Christians do not think about the canon of scripture or know what it is or means in
theology. Most take for granted the Bible they have and never question how it came into being.
Today, we have 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament. There was a
time, however, that we did not have a canon. Bruce defines canon as books of the Biblethat were
recognized to be considered scripture (p. 17). The importance of the canon and how it was
developed was intriguing to professor and author F.F. Bruce. He dedicated his book The Canon of
Scripture to explore and explain the formulation of the canon we have today. Bruce taught in

views of other writings defined as Gnostic writing. Bruce explains the spoken words of the
apostles carried as much authority as their written words and gives an in depth explanation how
the Gospels and Pauline writings were viewed by the Church Fathers. The rest of the section
demonstrates the Church Fathers and their views of what was to be considered scripture and the
councils that affirmed the inspired scripture. Bruce concludes by explaining the criteria used for
writings to be considered canon. He goes into more depth on the inspiration of the scriptures an
integral part of how the canon came together. The close of the book is appended by two lectures
that explore the secret gospel of Mark and the Primary Sense and Plenary Sense of scripture. Bruce
offers a solid explanation of the formation of the canon chronologically starting with the Hebrew
scriptures (p. 21) until the 4th century where church councils started to present the first spoken
finished canon (p. 97). Bruce shows the importance of the Old Testament scriptures, but writes most
about the New Testament. He not only shows how the New Testament came to be a canon but
offers a deep analysis of non canonical scripture called the Apocrypha (pp. 48, 90 93). Bruce offers

limitations in 3 or more of the following activities of daily living: self care, receptive and
expressive language, learning, mobility, self direction, capacity for independent living, and

Study and Comparison Groups
Two mutually exclusive populations were constructed, (1) individuals with DD and (2)
individuals without DD, which were further subdivided based on age. Children were defined as
0 18 years, HCT as 19 30 years, adulthood as 31 64 years, and older adults as 65 years or older.
Because this study investigates people with and without DD, CSHCN and adults with special
healthcare needs (SHCN) were excluded from both the DD and non DD groups. This led to the
exclusion of 2,002 children and 7,133 adults. HCT is more difficult for youth with disabilities than
youth without disabilities. Furthermore, youth with DD are less likely to receive adequate HCT

Sexual Education Is Important Today
Sexuality plays a major role in everyone s life, and it is a part of being human regardless of the
gender, age, race, or religion. Everyone has their way of expressing their sexuality, either with
thoughts and fantasy, or with their sexual partners. Sexuality could be controlled or ruled by the
person s desires, and whatever they fantasize is what fits their hidden personality. Also, religion
and education could control their thoughts into disliking some acts of the sexual activities, like
anal or oral sex, some religions or parents try to put them in the X zone; which make the person

culture (Perse). The mediacontinues to become more and more relevant in our culture. Many
people in our society today use the media daily. Also, there are many studies about social media
and its effects on us. The media affects the way we view body image in a negative way. The
media has affected people for many years. It has been around since people have been printing
newspapers and broadcasting on the radio. Particularly, the media has an effecton youth and there
are many studies and articles that research how the media affects youth. One example is, in the
article, Social Media and Body Image Concerns: Further Considerations and Broader Perspectives
written by Robert J. Williams and Lina A. Ricciardelli:
Social media are the main form of mass media being used by the youth of today, and researchers in
the U.S. and Australia have commenced studying how these may be affecting body image
concerns. However, the processes underlying how social media may influence young people s
body image appear to be no different from underlying other forms of mass media. Research is
needed to more fully evaluate youth s experiences of online appearance culture and how this may
foster both negative and positive peer interactions (Williams and Ricciardelli 389).
This quote discusses how youth today is affected by the media and their body image. Media has
a direct effect on body image because the media projects unrealistic body goals. This then can
result in people developing anxiety or depression. Also, in some cases, people could develop
eating disorders in order to look like how people in the media are broadcasted. The media has such
a strong influence on people every day since we are always around it. In another article, it states,
Diana Vancura argues that the media emphasize appearance over talent, which negatively affects
the body image

Selecting A Strategy Is A Key Foundation
Selecting a strategy is a key foundation in negotiation. Depending on the situation between your
position and that of the other party, different negotiation strategies may be used. Picking the right
strategy could improve the odds of a successful outcome. Chapter 1.3 of our book demonstrates
five basic strategies to use during negotiations. Each strategy has its own set of advantages and
disadvantages depending on the circumstances, and in most instances, a mixture of strategies will
be used. There are two key factors that will determine which of the five strategies you will use.
These factors will depend on your preferences of: the relationship with the other negotiator and the
outcome of the negotiation itself. When different levels... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
5.Compromising (split the difference) this is the middle area called satisficing a combination
approach that is used in many approaches. A combination of these strategies can be used at any
time. It is important to remember that the other party will also be choosing a strategy.
Negotiations would go smoother if both parties could decide on a single strategy to use. However,
in the real world, parties may start off with different negotiation tactics. Most importantly, it is to
your benefit to know each of these five negotiation strategies in depth so you can be prepared,
should the negotiation go differently than anticipated. After becoming comfortable with the five
different negotiation strategies, the next step is to decide which of the five strategies to use in a
negotiation. To decide this, there are two key factors to consider: 1.How important is the outcome
to be gained from this negotiation? 2.How important is the past, present, and future relationship
with the opponent? There are several main factors to consider when deciding how to answer the
two questions above. The first factor is to look at the situation to gage what strategy will fit best
given your set of circumstances. Analyze your personal preferences for different strategies. Picking
a strategy that you are most comfortable with will help with having a successful negotiation. Next,
consider your experience with using different strategies. The greater your experience with using a

A Number Of Learning Style Theories Exist
A number of learning style theories exist. Learning style theorists according to Csapo and Hayen
(2006) have identified specific characteristics of learning and have organized these characteristics
into specific classifications of learners. Learning styles are individual differences in learning and an
individual s learning style is the way he or she concentrates on, processes, internalizes, and
remembers new and difficult academic information or skills.
According to GГјlbahar and Alper (2011) learning styles can be described as the means of
perceiving, processing, storing, and recalling attempts in the learning process. In GГјlbahar and
Alper (2011) research, various cognitive and learning style theories and models have been
proposed over the course of many years, identifying and categorizing individual differences like
Hill s Cognitive Style Mapping (1976), Dunn and Dunn Learning Styles (1978), Howard Gardner s
Multiple Intelligence Theory (1983), Kolb s Learning Styles (1984), Gregorc Learning Styles
(1985), Felder Silverman Learning Model (1988), Grasha Reichmann Learning Style Scales
(1996), and Hermann Brain Dominance Models (1996). These models of learning styles are
currently being used in today s society.
One approach is Kolb s (1984) Experiential Learning Theory, which is based on the works of Kurt
Lewin, John Dewey, Lev Vygotsky, and Jean Piaget. Kolb has described four basic learning styles:
accommodative, assimilative, divergent, and convergent which are based

Everyday Life
Everyday life can be a difficult and amorphous concept to grapple with. This essay will consider
the various aspects of Scott s definition of what Everyday life is and to what extent I agree with
it. In its most simplistic and stripped down form, Scott s suggests that it s a study of people
doing little things in local places or more succinctly the wider picture (Scott, 2009, p1).
Everyday life can also be viewed as a person seeking solace in the familiarity of repetitive and
rhythmic routines (Scott, 2009). Scott s final assertion is that everyday life exists in the realm of a
person s individual and private choices, which have a bearing on that person s patterns of behaviour
(Scott, 2009). Scott specifically touches on seven... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scott also makes the point that a person s so called private life, has an impact on everyday life
and should be studied to find linkages in a broader sense, on larger public issue s (Scott, 2009).
The distinction which Scott makes here and I agree with, is that mundane things people do in
the privacy of their own homes, while obviously having no social connotations, are still
reflective upon that person s everyday life (Scott, 2009). This is reflected by Moran, perhaps
spuriously as; everyone coming home after work, nuking a TV dinner, brainlessly watching the
idiot box and tucking themselves into bed (Moran, 2008). Maybe a more scandalous example is
that of sexual betrayal s, and what can be a rapid expansion from a micro issue in a person s
private life to a broader issue that impacts on families and broader society (Bennett, 1994).
Jacobsen briefly touches on this in support of Scott, by describing everyday life in terms of
having; a place, space, location, domain connotation, a temporal dimension i.e. relating to time and
as having an attitude, mentality or state of consciousness , so when deconstructed it speaks to
where everyday life happens, with what regularity and the scrutinization that takes places
(Jacobsen, 2009, p14). To conclude, I premised this essay on everyday life being an almost
intangible concept, in Scott s words

Crisis Management Examples
Crisis Management Crisis management is the management of operations during the actual crisis (in
the midst of the event) and the management of the business before, during, and after the crisis. Most
crises require management from the outside in and the inside out by the management team (Nykiel,
2005). A crisis whether internal and or external can occur at any moment in a hospitality industry.
For example internal crisis in the hospitality industry include a breakout of a food borne illness in a
restaurant, infestation of rodents in a hotel and an outbreak of the flu on a cruise line (L. Pullium,
personal communication, September 11, 2008). Some examples of external crisis are terrorism,

The Wastebasket of The Sea
The Tiger shark, also known as the wastebasket of the sea (National Geographic), is the fourth
largest predatory shark in the ocean, measuring between twenty and twenty five feet long and can
weigh more than 2000 pounds. They have dark, vertical stripes on their bodies which is the reason
they are named tiger sharks. According to National Geographic, these stripes fade lighter as the
shark grows older, and eventually disappears with age. The head of the tiger shark is somewhat
wedge shaped which greatly helps the shark to turn quickly from one side to the other. Like other
sharks, they have small pits on the side of their upper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the egg is hatched within the mother, it stays within the mothers body for up to sixteen

tiger sharks have become such a threat to humans in Hawaii, between 1959 and 1976, 4668 tiger
sharks were hunted and killed, but who is to say it is all their fault? Popular movies incorporating
shark attacks such as Jaws sent frightened sun bathers running from the ocean, and as every beach
lifeguard knows, there s nothing like a gruesome shark attack to provoke a giant hysteria of public
paranoia. Theses shark attacks upon swimmers and surfers off the coast of mainly Hawaii and
Florida s Atlantic coast has left the public seeking and demanding an explanation for the high
number of attacks. The truth?
The one thing that s affecting shark attacks more than anything else is human activity, said Dr
George Burgess of Florida University, a shark expert who maintains the database. As the
population continues to rise, so does the number of people in the water for recreation. And as long
as we have an increase in human hours in the water, we will have an increase in shark bites.
(Richard Luscombe)

The Theory of Absolutism Essay
The Theory of Absolutism Absolute monarchy or absolutism meant that the sovereign power or
ultimate authority in the state rested in the hands of a king who claimed to rule by divine right.
But what did sovereignty mean? Late sixteenth century political theorists believed that sovereign
power consisted of the authority to make laws, tax, administer justice, control the state s
administrative system, and determine foreign policy. These powers made a ruler sovereign. One
of the chief theorists of divine right monarchy in the seventeenth century was the French
theologian and court preacher Bishop Jacques Bossuet (1627 1704), who expressed his ideas in a

Versailles (see Daily Life at the Court of Versailles later in the chapter). Consequently, Louis and
his court came to set the standard for monar chies and aristocracies all over Europe. Less than fifty

What Is The Theme Of Girl By Jamaica Kincaid Essay
Olivia Blanda
English 101
Professor Grace Hughes
24 October 2017
A Girl and her Mother There are several responsibilities a girl should learn about before going off
on her own and it is usually the mother s job to teach their daughter these life lessons. In the prose
poem Girl, by Jamaica Kincaid, a mother writes out a guide her daughter must follow in order to
succeed in her adult years. This poem that the mother has written for her daughter is better seen
as a guide to adulthood due to her use of an extremely long run on sentence and choice of diction.
The run on sentence consists of a list of commands like this is how you sweep a corner; this is
how you sweep a whole house; this is how you sweep a yard (22 24). Not only does the run on
sentence depict that this is a guide, but so does the constant repetition of this is how and don t ...

Nigg Meaning The African-American Culture
Nigga:
Some people will call this a term of endearment, others will call it the abbreviated way of calling
someone my Nigger . The thing about this commonly used term, however, is that it is really just
fueling a fire that needs to finally be extinguished. How can WE as African Americans be
expecting a change in others perceptions if we ourselves are feeding into this fire of hatred.
Giving unbridled permission to those who wish to use this term in ways of demeaning the African
American culture! Wise up and see that by referring to yourself, and others as Nigga , you are
simply placing those chains of slavery back upon your neck and wrists, this time they just happen to

  • 2. A Short Note On B2b And B2c Marketing Differences in eCommerce for B2B and B2C Marketing Differences in eCommerce for B2B and B2C Marketing Building a B2B eCommerce platform generates big differences from trying to market retail products to consumers. Unlike B2C marketing, cultivating each potential buyer is more critical and challenging. Most business buyers are highly educated, logical and perceptive, so they tend to appreciate platforms that offer them conveniences for researching products and product lines, managing complex shipping strategies and handling special needs such as winning approval from buying committees or multiple decision makers. That s why it s important to develop a business marketing strategy that incorporates buyer identification, expedited searches for product and, third party information about product specifications and supply chains. B2B platforms share some similarities with B2C websites, but there are many inherent differences that marketers need to understand. Traditionally, B2C versus B2B was often defined as business marketers being more sensitive to price, customer loyalty and working business relationships while B2C marketers tried to create excitement for their products through emotional connections. While this definition remains true, the lines are blurred because B2B companies now use B2C techniques, social media and heightened user experiences to nurture long term business relationships. The goal of a savvy business marketer is to generate an emotional response for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Factors Affecting The Generic Drug Industry Spending growth in generic drugs has slowed considerably from 42% in 2011 to 10% currently. IMS Health predicts the growth to maximize at 90% of the prescription market (Salazar, 2015). Though there is not much room between generic drugs currently representing 83% of prescription drugs and the predicted 90% maximum, the next twelve months appear a safe investment period for the generic drugindustry when considering the currently growth rate. Many factors influence success in the generic drug industry; among the influences is the need for an alternative to higher priced brand name drugs. This was the original purpose of generic drugs. Initially, generics offered a considerable price benefit over brand drugs with a reduction of at least 60% for specialty drugs and 80% for oral prescriptions (Taylor, 2015). Recently, the rising cost of generics has drawn much scrutiny. Many factors contribute to the increased cost of generics. According to Salazar, increased product quality regulations, less new products entering the market, inflation, and the increased number of former prescription drugs being offered over the counter have all lead to higher generic drug pricing. An additional motive for the increased cost of generics may be pure greed. Price hikes as exorbitant as 5000% have occurred in recent months in some generic drugs. Taylor attributes the price hikes to the increased need for innovation and the lack of competition in generic drug manufacturers. These ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Aspect Of Language Development Introduction Nowadays, with continuous enhancement of economy and culture globalization, bilingual or multilingual speakers are increasing all around world. In United States, one out of five elementary school students speak another language other than English at home. Although some parents prefer their children exposed to monolingual environment, the mainstream trend is more and more children in America speak one language at home but another language at school, or use both first and second language at school. Bilingual education becomes more and more important for bilingual children growing up in target language environment. Commonly, children learn second language through two different sequences, one is simultaneous acquisition, and another is sequential acquisition. Which means they can choose to learn two languages at same time, or study second language after first language is well mastered. But for babies or toddlers under three years old, they seem to receive language passively; lots of people wonder how could these toddlers develop two languages and how could parents or bilingual educators guide them effectively. This paper aims to review literature on the aspect of language development of Bilingual toddlers; the theory results would contribute to effectively develop one to three years old bilingual toddlers language acquisition. Research Questions There are two research questions: 1. What are the language development achievements of bilingual toddlers from age one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Sleep Disorders And Sleep Disorder Every single person in the world sleeps, but why or what exactly makes us sleep? This is a very good question because everyone does it without actually thinking about it. Knowing or even trying to understand how one sleeps can be a very interesting topic to dissect. This also gives researchers a wide area of study for collecting data and then interpreting that data for doctors to help patients. It is important to learn and study sleep, especially if one has one or more sleeping disorder(s). We can study that behavior and find ways to remedy or even cure whichever sleep disorder(s) you may have. Not getting adequate sleep can cause many everyday tasks to be rather difficult to accomplish and also even make every day learning and remembering more difficult. Not only remembering during the day, but also remembering when you are sleeping. You may be asking, remembering when you sleep? Well, when you get an insufficient amount of sleep you become more prone to sleep disorders such as parasomnia and obstructive sleep apnea. Sleep is a topic that many neuropsychologists would like to study in order to better understand the body in its state of rest and even find how sleep is related to crime and in more appalling cases, murder. First, why do we sleep? Sleep is a very complex and sometimes a very hard to understand matter of human life. We all know that sleep is a necessity and if we don t get an adequate amount then things start to deteriorate in our mind and body. Thomas Edison ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Effects Of European Colonization Of Africa When we bethink the European Empire, we reminisce of an illustrious, paramount empire that had once dominated most of the world. But, were they all as stupendous as they seemed? The Age of Discovery was a dark, hellish era Europeans were unsurpassable, conquering and enslaving a large miscellany of civilisations leaving them with barren fields and waterless lakes. These civilisations ranged from small tribes to extensive continents; one of which was modern day Africa. Unquestionably, European colonisation was the prominent factor towards underdevelopment in Africa. The European colonisers demonstrated exploitation of local Africans and their resources, the destruction of Africa s political system, and the subdivision of traditional ethnic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... European explorers drained and controlled Africa of its people and natural resources. In the mid 1400s, European settlers implemented and utilised an intricate trading system known as Triangular Trade . This transatlantic trading system exported African resources and deported enslaved Africans to the Americas. Therefore, this forced the removal of millions, countless Africans, many of which were skilled tradesmen or women with a variety of professions who could no longer aid the African society. Hence, this weakened Africa as a whole, which also significantly damaged its economy (The Underdevelopment of). Furthermore, the slave trading industry severely debilitated the Gold Coast economy of West Africa. The frequent acts of slave raiding and constant kidnapping by the Europeans made it highly dangerous to mine the land or transport and travel with gold products. Therefore, the insistence for slaves made bringing out local Africans as captives much more beneficial and lucrative than the industry of gold mining, and as a result, abolished the gold trade (The Underdevelopment of). Moreover, Europeans utilised and took full advantage of their exceptional and distinguished technology and high caliber military power to regulate Africa s import and export ... • 7. Reusable Software Development Essay The quality and reliability of software today is expected to be extremely high. Software is being included in engines of automobiles, robots, x ray machines at hospitals; it is no surprise that software is expected to operate correctly almost all the time. This reliability comes at a cost of increasing complexity. With the increase in complexity, software development teams are getting larger and maintenance is becoming more difficult. Although developers are dealing with these problems project dates are still very rigorous and projects can seem impossible to complete on time. Due to these problems, software development costs are rising which is increasing the cost of software for consumers. Without new practices to develop software... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reuse base software development uses a similar methodology. By using what has already been created we can modify or improve it to make a better product then what has been previously developed. While software reuse may not alleviate all the problems the developer faces it can certainly help lower the demands put on the development team. Reuse based software development requires a different methodology to create large robust systems that can be used again and again. A traditional software development methodology isn t efficient enough to create reusable software. While smaller systems can be reused with relative ease, larger systems have a cost associated to developing them with reuse in mind. Project planning must include extra time for designing, implementing and testing these reusable assets as opposed to system specific functionality. There also may be costs associated with training people on these new tools and assets that are required to be used with a reuse base software methodology. Therefore, companies are usually reluctant in incorporating software reuse into their development cycle, but over the past 10 years there has been a gradual transition to reuse based development. The move to reuse based development is in response to companies seeing their software as a valuable asset and are promoting reuse to increase their return on software investments (Sommerville, 416). • 9. Compare And Contrast The Iphone 7 Plus Vs. Samsung Galaxy... Compare and Contrast Ecstatic, anxious, and thrilled are the emotions that run through seemingly every single teenager when the newest smartphone hits the market. Yet, numerous teens run into the same debate every time the top smartphone creators release their new devices. Teens are presented with the dilemma of choosing which phone to buy. In order to decide teens will often rely on peer pressure, whichever phone is released first, or the phone that their parents choose. The iPhone 7 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S8+ are the most recent releases that have imposed distress upon teens trying to choose one phone over the other. However, when contrasting the iPhone 7 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy S8+ is it undeniable that teens should prefer to buy the Samsung Galaxy S8+ due to the fact that it is the considerably superior device. For teens who rely on their parents to pay for their phones, or work in order to buy their own phones the deciding factor on which phone to buy is the price. According to the Apple.com, the iPhone 7 Plus retails for $969 with a charge port included. It is important to mention that this does not include accessories such as earbuds. Everything else is sold separately. According to Samsung.com, the Samsung Galaxy S8+ retails for $850 with included accessories such as earbuds, USB cord, and a charging port. Although the difference in price may only be about $100 this can make a significant difference. When buying new phone teens, will expectedly want to buy accessories for it. Such as a case, earbuds, screen protector and so on. Taking all these facts into consideration it is obvious that the SGs8+ is the better option. The Samsung accessories retail at lower prices and some of the accessories come included when the phone is purchased. Purchasing the iPhone 7 plus and all the desired accessories surely bring the bill to over $1000 which few parents will want to pay for a phone. The SGS8+ is a much cheaper choice with even more significant qualities. In addition to the cost, customers and the companies that create smartphones, focus on the quality of the smartphone. Quality consists of numerous factors such as the camera quality, screen resolution, sound quality, microphone quality and so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Slavery in the North and South of the US Essay So many people wanted slaves, especially in the South. They had more farms than they could handle on their own. Northern owners wanted them because they would have to do less work. Very few owners treated their slaves nicely and paid them to do work around the house. They would not be treated like familybut would get treated a whole lot better than your typical slave. Those kinds of circumstances occurred more in the Northern states than the Southern states. Most slaves lost contact with their family members when they were captured to be sold and shipped off to somewhere the families had no idea of. The owners woulds also not let them go anywhere after dark and if they wanted to leave during the day they would have to have a signed paper by their owner saying they can do whatever it is that they want to do. They would try so hard to just escape to the North and if they could to Canada. Reason is, they were technically free, but at the same time they had no rights but they were not as mistreated in the north as they were in the south. Also it was illegal to marry slaves in the South so that was also a reason they would leave so they could marry. Slaves in the North and South were terrified of the thought of being sold to some other owner. All of the slaves, no matter the gender, had to strip down all the way in front of everyone and would have to stand there naked to be investigated by the people that wanted to buy them. The people selling the slaves knew buyers would examine the bodies of the slaves they wanted to buy therefore were sneaky about covering up any scars and bruises the slaves had by puting make up on them to cover them up, and make them appear stronger than they were. • 11. Characteristics Of The High Renaissance This research paper looks at the High Renaissance and the artists that it had produced during this period. During this time period there were three individuals that had dominated the art world. These three artists are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Even though this paper discusses about the High Renaissance and the three who dominated it, the main focus of the paper is on Leonardo Da Vinci. Even though he mad such famous paintings, he was not a prolific painter; he was prolific draftsman as well as a great engineer, architect, inventor, and scientist. Besides having many famous paintings, Da Vinci also had thousands of drawings, sketches, and doodles that he is famous for. The drawings contained many notes of what he was interested. There are drawings of the study of the human body, of his inventions and just things he see is interesting. In art history, the High Renaissance period refers to a short period in which there was an exceptional artistic production in the Italian states. The reason why this part of the Reniasance period is called the High Renaissance is because it has been seen as the time in which the artistic aim and goals of the Renaissance has reached their greatest application (n.d.). The High Renaissance style was the dominant art style during 16th century Italy. Many historians believe that three individuals dominated this time period of art. These individuals are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. The oldest of the three was Leonardo Da Vinci Leonardo Da Vinci was a universal genius. He was not only just the best painter of the world at the time, but he was also known as a great inventor, architect, engineer and scientist. Even though he was great in many fields, he is mostly known from his achievements as the painter of many famous Renaissance art masterpieces. Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 near the village of Vinci, which is 25 miles away from Florence. Da Vinci was the illegitimate son of a local of Florence and a prominent notary Florence, Ser Piero Da Vinci. Not much of his childhood is known, but as a teen he became an apprentice of Andrea del Verrochio, the leading artist of Florence and the early Reniassance (2017). Later on Leonardo ... • 12. Problems Of Traditional American Education Antonia Darder sets a language in Culture and Power in the Classroom that critiques the traditional American educational system while challenging teachers to a new thinking of culture and diversity in the classroom. Using the groundings from several theories, theory and resistance, regimes of truth, and theory of hegemony, she set the platform of the hidden curriculum that is valued in traditional public education. She seeks to use several theoretical frameworks to create a bicultural critical pedagogical approach, which links education to impactful politics. In Culture and Power in the Classroom, Antonia Darder makes is clear that education matters, but yet more importantly that all students matter in their educational experience. As educators there needs to be awareness and consciousness of the hegemonic forces of race, class, culture, ethnicity, gender, and/or ability shape that inferiority within students. Cultural hegemony is so natural, that even in the classroom students are immune to the shoddiness of living within the realms of the dominant culture. Darder exposes the problems of traditional American pedagogy. The conventional liberal and conservative discourse of nature versus nature do not challenge the structural underachievement of bicultural students. The use of meritocracy, intelligence testing, track and ability grouping, curriculum, and expectations of teachers perpetuate the blame of students rather than the structure of traditional American educational ... Before I answer those questions by using that particular story, I do want to say a couple of things about The Minister s Black Veil. While I thought it was straightforward and not cryptic, I did find Rappaccini s Daughter to be completely depressing. I believe the meaning is very clear at the end. To me, it was saying that selfish intentions of wanting more often lead to the destruction of the really truly important things in life of the simple and beautiful things. Rappaccini was so obsessed with his experiments and his own genius that he didn t seem to mind risking his own simple yet beautiful daughter. During her entire life, he did this! Whether with bloodshed or not, dueling was seen by society as the only way to ensure harmonious reconciliation between the men involved in a dispute with each other (Frevet, 167). However, it is questionable as to whether dueling would result in the superficial reconciliation if the cause was a serious provocation like adultery (Frevet, 176). To support his claim, Mantsios (2006) states that most poor people in the United States identify first with their racial heritage, ethnic heritage, or geographic location. Members of the working class do not consider themselves part of a collective of workers, but rather as employees of a specific company. References to a middle class are, according to Mantsios (2006), usually done by politicians to pander to the broadest possible constituency, (p. 183). When relative wealth or poverty is addressed in the mainstream media, it is done so without reference to the structural issues that cause income disparity. Mantsios (2006) proceeds to outline several myths, including the overarching myth that America is a classless society (p. 183). The second of his four main myths related to class in America is that Despite some variations in economic status, most Americans have achieved relative affluence in what is widely recognized as a consumer society, (p. 184). Certainly, to a villager in Zimbabwe a poor American might seem to have relative affluence. Yet within the broader scheme of American society, it seems insulting to claim validity to this myth. • 20. Endocrine Systems And The Endocrine System Introduction: When speaking about each of the diverse systems in the body, the endocrine system is much of the time overlooked and is easily confused with the excretory system. The endocrine system works with the nervous system in order to maintain homeostasis in the body. Independently the endocrine system is a small group of glandslocated throughout the body, which include the pineal, adrenal, and thymus glands. Each gland in the endocrine systemproduces, stores, and releases hormones so when working properly the endocrine system plays an important role in the body functioning correctly and staying healthy. The glands of the endocrine system work through a feedback structure. For example, the hypothalamuswill send a signal in the form of a hormone to the pituitary gland that stimulates the pituitary gland to release a hormone into circulation. The hormone secreted by the pituitary gland will then stimulate a target gland which will then in turn secrete its own hormone. When the levels of this target gland get higher the hypothalamus and pituitary glands will slow down or completely stop secreting each of their hormones. This type of regulated feedback system results in a stable blood concentration of the hormones that are regulated by those glands responsible. (Derrickson 2012) Graphics: Discussion: Each of the labeled glands has a specific function. Catherine joined with Austria and Prussia in three partitions that completely eliminated independent Poland. The German princes ignored the Pragmatic Sanction (1713) guaranteeing her succession, and looked forward to partitioning the Habsburg s lands. Chem 112 Technical Abstract Determination of Cations and Anions through Elimination and Confirmation Tests By: Symantha Resendiz Introduction A topic of great importance to all scientists is the identification of compounds, which is relevant in all aspects of their work in some way shape or form. Weather it may be determining what is causing sickness or what is polluting the air, it is very prevalent in the science world. In project 2, identification of cations and anions was preformed through a series of confirmation and elimination tests that ultimately led to identifying an unknown ionic compound made of cations and anions. Materials and Methods Part 1 Cation Tests To begin, 5 centrifuge tubes were added 10 drops of one cation and labeled... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The mixture was then transferred to a clean centrifuge tube via pipet, carefully not wetting the upper walls of the tube. Zinc granules were then added and the tube was immediately plugged with cotton 1/3 of the way into the tube. After a few minutes, nitrate is indicated on the wet crease of the litmus paper, turning it blue. For the Carbonate test, 25 mg of carbonate sample was added to a centrifuge tube and 3 drops of 6 M H2SO4 was added. A disposable pipet was used to transfer a drop of Ba(OH)2, that hung directly from the pipet over the carbonate solution, and the observations of the drop were recorded. Part 3 Cation and Anion Analysis For the cation analysis, 0.566 g of an unknown compound was dissolved completely in 5mL of distilled water in a centrifuge tube, thus confirming this solution as a stock solution. A flame test was performed on the stock solution to give a general idea of what test was to e preformed on the stock solution deriving the information from our logic trees in part 1. The logic tree from part 1 and the flame test confirmed that we needed to conduct an ammonia test on the stock solution. • 33. What Is A Tent Foot What is a tent foot? What you need to know. Have you ever struggled to understand what a tent footprint is? Or have you ever struggled to understand why people need tent foots? We ll I m here to answer that. I think that it is important to know what a tent foot is because it is such a useful tool when camping, that it can save the underneath of your tent from damage while you are camping. So what is a tent footprint, really? Think of a tent footprint like the foundation of the tent. What this tent foot does is it protects the underneath of your tent from any wear and tear. Normally, tent foot s come attached to the tent itself so you don t necessarily have to worry about buying a new one. However, many tents are waterproof underneath. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Believe it or not, when you are doing the tossing and turning, you are causing abrasions on the ground material of the tent. Over time, the friction from those abrasions will tear the underneath of the tent apart. Are there any other uses for the tent foot? Tent footprints can be used as a form of insulation underneath your tent. When the tent foot is underneath your tent, the tent foot will trap warm air underneath your tent to provide you warmth for as long as possible. The tent footprint also makes sure that packing up the tent is as easy as possible. Since the tent itself will be on top of the tent footprint, the tent will stay dry underneath. That means that you don t have to spend as much time cleaning the tent before packing up. One other way that tent footprints can help, other than protecting the tent from damage, is by helping you place your corners of the tent. When you buy your tent, the tent foot will nearly be the exact dimension as the tent footprint. As for the waterproofing; just because some tents are waterproof, doesn t mean that a tent footprint cannot add an extra waterproofing layer underneath the tent. It is generally a good idea to have as many extra layers of water

From 1828 to 1836, Andrew Jackson served as president in the United States of America. Although some people believed Jackson was fair to the common man, Jackson acted undemocratically during his presidency because he was not fair to everyone and only listened to his supporters. This has been a huge debate ever since zoos have been created. Numerous people believe they are horrid and an issue to animals. There was a time, however, that we did not have a canon. Bruce defines canon as books of the Biblethat were recognized to be considered scripture (p. 17). It has been around since people have been printing newspapers and broadcasting on the radio. Particularly, the media has an effecton youth and there are many studies and articles that research how the media affects youth. One example is, in the article, Social Media and Body Image Concerns: Further Considerations and Broader Perspectives written by Robert J. Williams and Lina A. Ricciardelli: Social media are the main form of mass media being used by the youth of today, and researchers in the U.S. and Australia have commenced studying how these may be affecting body image concerns. However, the processes underlying how social media may influence young people s body image appear to be no different from underlying other forms of mass media. Research is needed to more fully evaluate youth s experiences of online appearance culture and how this may foster both negative and positive peer interactions (Williams and Ricciardelli 389). This quote discusses how youth today is affected by the media and their body image. Media has a direct effect on body image because the media projects unrealistic body goals. This then can result in people developing anxiety or depression. Also, in some cases, people could develop eating disorders in order to look like how people in the media are broadcasted. Learning style theorists according to Csapo and Hayen (2006) have identified specific characteristics of learning and have organized these characteristics into specific classifications of learners. Learning styles are individual differences in learning and an individual s learning style is the way he or she concentrates on, processes, internalizes, and remembers new and difficult academic information or skills. According to GГјlbahar and Alper (2011) learning styles can be described as the means of perceiving, processing, storing, and recalling attempts in the learning process. In GГјlbahar and Alper (2011) research, various cognitive and learning style theories and models have been proposed over the course of many years, identifying and categorizing individual differences like Hill s Cognitive Style Mapping (1976), Dunn and Dunn Learning Styles (1978), Howard Gardner s Multiple Intelligence Theory (1983), Kolb s Learning Styles (1984), Gregorc Learning Styles (1985), Felder Silverman Learning Model (1988), Grasha Reichmann Learning Style Scales (1996), and Hermann Brain Dominance Models (1996). In its most simplistic and stripped down form, Scott s suggests that it s a study of people doing little things in local places or more succinctly the wider picture (Scott, 2009, p1). Everyday life can also be viewed as a person seeking solace in the familiarity of repetitive and rhythmic routines (Scott, 2009). Scott also makes the point that a person s so called private life, has an impact on everyday life and should be studied to find linkages in a broader sense, on larger public issue s (Scott, 2009). The distinction which Scott makes here and I agree with, is that mundane things people do in the privacy of their own homes, while obviously having no social connotations, are still reflective upon that person s everyday life (Scott, 2009). This is reflected by Moran, perhaps spuriously as; everyone coming home after work, nuking a TV dinner, brainlessly watching the idiot box and tucking themselves into bed (Moran, 2008). Maybe a more scandalous example is that of sexual betrayal s, and what can be a rapid expansion from a micro issue in a person s private life to a broader issue that impacts on families and broader society (Bennett, 1994). Jacobsen briefly touches on this in support of Scott, by describing everyday life in terms of having; a place, space, location, domain connotation, a temporal dimension i.e. relating to time and as having an attitude, mentality or state of consciousness , so when deconstructed it speaks to where everyday life happens, with what regularity and the scrutinization that takes places (Jacobsen, 2009, p14).
