Solution A) The cambarian explosion is misleading because- Cambarian is considered as \"explosive\" and during this period the count of many animal phyla such as athropods,mollusks and vertebrates became increased and they became species rich. B) (1) CONVERGENT EVOLUTION : This occurs when the two species donot share common ancestors though they have similar characteristics. Here there is a small problem with this evolution that is,we should able to analyse clearly the difference between the species because we may be mistaken by seeing the features of both species. Ex: Humming bird and Humming bird moth are the best examples because though they look similar in size,sucking nector etc... they differ from each other. (2) DIVERGENT EVOLUTION : In this evolution, the species share similar characteristics from thier ancestors but they differ in similar characteristics.Darwins finches are the best example for this evolution. (3) Without mutation,there is no evolution because mutation is the only way that new alles and regulatoy regions are created. That is the reason why mutations are very most important in evolution. C) The imortant point for prezygotic isolating mechanism compared to post zygotic is it prevents hybrid from even happening in the first place and there is an overlap of habitat called the hybridization zone where the mating and interaction occurs. While coming to other isolation mechanism which is post zygotic, it is failed in keeping the species in reproductive isolation from each other and in this isolation,hybrids are produced but not tend to viable.The main drawback of postzygotic evvolution is they must relay on natural selection to correct the convergence of species..

change in the frequency of alleles in a population. These changes in the allele frequency in a
population occur randomly. One very common example to describe the genetic drift would be
that most of the human families have different number of boys and girls, as the X or Y alleles
have been passed differently into the new generation from the parents. Although the X and Y
alleles do not really contribute for the evolution, the frequency changes in other alleles would
have a considerable effect for evolution.
Gene flow is a process of evolution that takes place when genes or alleles move from one
population to another. It is also known as the Gene Migration, and that could cause changes in
the allele frequency as well as some variations in the gene pool of both populations. There are
some good examples to support this phenomenon from humans regarding a developed immunity
for malaria among new Western Africans after their parents mated with Europeans who initially
had the immunity. It is interesting to notice that gene flow could take place between two species,
as well.

in evolutionary changes seen in species.

force of evolution, which influences the population’s gene pool.The change in the genetic
makeup of organism which favors the life of species makes it the fittest to survive!

establishes a new one in a geographically isolated region.It occurs in a large population and helps
the population to survive.
c)Natural selection-This happens when populations of organisms are subjected to the
environment. The fittest creatures are more likely to survive and pass their genes to their
offspring, producing a population that is better adapted to the environment.
2.MicroEvolution-Microevolution is defined as changes in gene frequency in a population from
one generation to the next.These small changes in species occur by recombining existing genetic
material within the group of same species.
Micro Evolution is caused due to Mutation, Migration or Gene Flow, Genetic Drift and Selection
(natural and artificial).
Macro Evolution: It refers to major evolutionary changes over time, the origin of new types of
organisms from previously existing, but different, ancestral types.It is an evolution on a larger

The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

- 1. How is the term Cambrian explosion misleading? Distinguish between convergent evolution and divergent evolution. Which type of selection would you expect to be the major factor in convergent evolution? In divergent evolution? Why are mutations important in evolution? Natural selection can lead to the evolution of prezygotic isolating mechanisms, but not postzygotic isolating mechanisms? Explain. Solution A) The cambarian explosion is misleading because- Cambarian is considered as "explosive" and during this period the count of many animal phyla such as athropods,mollusks and vertebrates became increased and they became species rich. B) (1) CONVERGENT EVOLUTION : This occurs when the two species donot share common ancestors though they have similar characteristics. Here there is a small problem with this evolution that is,we should able to analyse clearly the difference between the species because we may be mistaken by seeing the features of both species. Ex: Humming bird and Humming bird moth are the best examples because though they look similar in size,sucking nector etc... they differ from each other. (2) DIVERGENT EVOLUTION : In this evolution, the species share similar characteristics from thier ancestors but they differ in similar characteristics.Darwins finches are the best example for this evolution. (3) Without mutation,there is no evolution because mutation is the only way that new alles and regulatoy regions are created. That is the reason why mutations are very most important in evolution. C) The imortant point for prezygotic isolating mechanism compared to post zygotic is it prevents hybrid from even happening in the first place and there is an overlap of habitat called the hybridization zone where the mating and interaction occurs. While coming to other isolation mechanism which is post zygotic, it is failed in keeping the species in reproductive isolation from each other and in this isolation,hybrids are produced but not tend to viable.The main drawback of postzygotic evvolution is they must relay on natural selection to correct the convergence of species.
