Hot Essay
Crafting an essay on the seemingly innocuous topic of "Hot Essay" may appear deceptively
straightforward at first glance. One might assume that a subject with such a simple title could be
effortlessly explored and dissected within the confines of a standard essay format. However,
delving into the intricacies of this theme reveals a myriad of challenges that can make the writing
process considerably more demanding than anticipated.
To begin with, the term "hot" is inherently subjective, encompassing a wide array of meanings
and interpretations. Whether approached from a literal or metaphorical standpoint, the need for
precision in defining the scope and context becomes imperative. Juggling the diverse
connotations and implications of "hot" can lead to a writing endeavor fraught with the
complexities of clarity and coherence.
Moreover, the challenge extends beyond mere semantics, as the essay would necessitate a
nuanced exploration of the chosen interpretation. Whether addressing the scorching temperatures
of a summer day, the trending nature of a particular topic, or the passionate intensity of an
argument, the writer must navigate through diverse facets, ensuring a comprehensive and
engaging discussion.
As the exploration progresses, maintaining a cohesive narrative and preventing the essay from
devolving into a disjointed compilation of ideas adds another layer of difficulty. Weaving
together the disparate threads of analysis requires a delicate balance, demanding a keen
awareness of transitions and logical progression to keep the reader tethered to the overarching
theme.
Additionally, the risk of clichГ©s and superficial analyses looms large when dealing with a topic
as seemingly commonplace as "Hot Essay." Striking a balance between originality and
accessibility becomes an art form, as the writer strives to bring fresh perspectives to a topic that
might have been explored countless times before.
In conclusion, tackling the task of writing an essay on the enigmatic theme of "Hot Essay" is no
walk in the park. Navigating through the diverse interpretations, maintaining coherence, and
avoiding clichГ©s all contribute to the intricacies of this undertaking. It is a challenge that
demands not just linguistic finesse but also intellectual acuity. For those grappling with the
complexities of essay composition, it's worth considering seeking assistance. Services like

The Influence Of Voting Laws In The United States
In 1870, five years after the end of the Civil War, the United States ratified the 15th
Amendment to the Constitution. The amendment would guarantee that newly freed
Black (male) American citizens would be granted the right to vote. Still, decades of
various discriminatory practices were and still are used to prevent minorities from
voting in elections nationwide. For years, racially charged bigotry would force
minority voters from the voting polls by requiring the use of literacy tests, ID
requests, and gerrymandering. Even now, minorities struggle with voting rights and
voter suppression year after year in local, county, and nationwide elections. Voter
suppression effects and will continue to affect minority Americans and the outcome
of elections as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the act did do amazing things for voting rights especially in the south, voter
suppression still exists today. Every year, more and more GOP officials are trying to
stop minority Americans from voting, in seemingly more legal ways than they did in
the 1960 s. For instance, in the 2016 election alone, 17 new states added new voting
restrictions. Unnecessary voting laws are just another way biased government
officials are making it even more complicated for citizens of the United States vote in
city, county, state wide or nation wide elections.
Gerrymandering is also a major way that officials are trying to stop or complicate
citizens from voting. Gerrymandering is the manipulation of boundaries of an
electoral constituency so as to favor one class or party. Gerrymandering is one of the
greatest threats to American democracy today. Officials can redraw county lines to
accommodate to their liking. If a there are five districts in a state and three are
Democratic, then the Republicans can maneuver the districts to their liking and vice
versa. Right now, with the majority GOP Congress, Senate, and House, Democratic
districts are in more danger than
Racism in Disney Movies Essay

30 March 2010 Racism in Disney During the last several decades, the media has
become a strong agent in directing and controlling social beliefs and behaviors.
Children, by nature, can be particularly susceptible to the influencing powers of the
media, opening an avenue where media created especially for children can
indoctrinate entire generations. Disney movies, like all other media are powerful
vehicles for certain notions about our culture, such as racism. (Giroux 32). Racist
scenes in Disney movies are often identified as simply being symbols of the time
when the films were produced. Furthermore, Disney racism is often passed over as

Her troubling presence was simply cropped out of the movie even though you can
still see the Aryans she used to pamper. Eliminating Sunflower from the movie may
have been intended as harmless and as an attempt to be politically correct; however,
it is cinematic decisions such as this that contributed to Disney s reputation of being
insensitive to issues of race. It was insulting enough for Disney to include the smiling
servant stereotype to begin with, but to make matters worse, they started denying
Sunflower s existence with the Fantasia re release in 1960. How does that possibly
make things better? A few angered African Americancommunities said, No, you
misunderstand. In our perfect, Fantasia world, Africans aren t servants. They don t
fucking exist (Weinman 64). A contemporary filmcritic said, What s fun though is
that Disney says they never had such a character! We re all delusional (Brunette

racist features; nevertheless, it is strange to deny its existence to audiences who
had already seen the original version. This is how we deal with our ugly past: we
deny it, trivialize it, gloss over it with pretty distractions and wishful thinking. Doing
so, we deny ourselves a glimpse of the compelling reality of naked history. The well
meaning rush to unmake evil deeds by hiding them from the critical eye of modern
sensibilities does nothing to honor the people
The Role Of Unreliable Narrator In Edgar Allan Poe s
Stories
Almost, if not all, of the narrators in Edgar Allan Poe s stories are unreliable.
Georgetown University defines an unreliable narrator as someone who typically
displays characteristics or tendencies that indicate a lack of credibility or
understanding of the story and this could depend on age, mental disability or personal
involvement . The narratorthen ends up giving the reader either incomplete or
inaccurate information as a result of these conditions . Some of the unreliable
narrators in Poe s stories are the creeper in The Telltale Heart, Montresor in The
Cask of Amontillado, and the murderer in The Black Cat. They are all clinically
insane, as they feel no remorse for any of their actions, and think nothing of what they
did. They... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

concocted the sound of the old man s heart beating in his head. It got louder and
louder as he was being interrogated by police, until it drove him so mad that he
confessed to the murder. Referring back to how he spends a lot of the story
explaining how he isn t mad, the introduction to his tale itself is him going on and

things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. How, then, am I

me mad. Madmen know nothing. But you should have seen me. You should have
seen how wisely I proceeded with what caution with what foresight with what
dissimulation I went to work! (Poe 89). In all

Political Irrectness In 1984 By George Orwell
In 1984, George Orwell demonstrates the dangers of policing thought and expression
through a fictional language called Newspeak , which is a a reduced language
created by the totalitarian state as a tool to limit free thought, and concepts that pose
a threat to the regime such as freedom, self expression, individuality, peace 1. Any
thought that is contrary to the state s construct is classified as thoughtcrime . The
NewspeakOrwell introduces is eerily similar to political correctness, which is
defined as conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend
political sensibilities (as in matters of sex or race) should be eliminated 2. Political
correctness is a plague on modern society, since it stifles social progress. By
limiting free speech and encouraging a sense of victimhood, political correctness
augments the issues of racism, sexism etc. It also stifles debate by declaring many
important issues as taboo. Therefore, the political correctness that is rampant in
modern society, although aimed at promoting inclusion and tolerance, is in fact doing
nothing but increasing the division that people experience. The politically correct
agenda that is widespread and that is pushed by mass media and the political left
limits people s freedom of though and expression. One of the primary ways in which
it does this is through redefining language and deeming certain lanugage
unacceptable, so that contrary opinions are classified as discriminatory and

Congress has prohibited the transfer of any Guantanamo detainee into the United

But what the United States failed to realize is that the government has another prison,
which is similar to Guantanamo Bay, which poses as a threat to the United States.
The prison name is ADX Supermax, which is located in Florence, Colorado .Americas

Journal Report On Journal ( Trip ) ( 2011-2012 Item No. 1
Journal (Trip to France) 2011 2012Item No. 1
The first item in my portfolio is a journal from when my family took a trip to
France. Since my dad was granted a sabbatical, our family travelled to the south of
France for a year to learn French and gain cultural experience. We took this trip
during the time I was in Grade 6; however, we had to take school in French instead,
which was probably more difficult. I chose to add this journal because it is an
accurate summary of many of the things my family did in France, and it shows my
progress throughout the year learning French.
In order to be able to communicate while my family was in France, all of us had to
learn to speak and write in French. This was a challenge, but we took lessons ... Show

However, I would make sure to keep a more detailed account of what I was doing. I
would need to keep a better journal so that I could remember all the things I did.
There are so many things to do and see that it is nearly impossible not to forget
something!
In France, I learned the value of heightened social and interpersonal skills and
awareness. I found that when speaking in French, I was much more confident than
when I spoke in English, and this led to me being less introverted. By writing a
journal, I also learned how to summarize facts concisely, and how to communicate
effectively.
This journal demonstrates that I have effective communication skills, especially in
writing. It also shows how I am always working to improve my general skill set. You
can see this throughout the journal, as my French gets better and better!
Rock (Asteroids Game) July 2013Item No. 2
As the second item in my portfolio, I chose to add a rock. Although a rock is
something very ordinary, to me it represents something very special: the time when I

the first time I had created a video game that actually looked professional; it was
also the first video game for which I developed a fully functional computerized
opponent. I chose a rock to represent part of me in my portfolio, because it is a
The History of Music Styles
Introduction:
A study of the history of music styles brings to the fore two distinct periods,
Baroque and Classical. The purpose of this essay is to provide a comparison
between the two musical eras through the exploration of two different composers and
their works, namely Antonio Vivaldi and his Four Seasons Spring in the maximized
Baroque era and the minimalist approaches of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart s
Symphony. Moreover this essay will review the unique social, cultural, technological
an musical elements of each period to determine the ways in which these factors
influenced the works and styles of their respective composers.
Paragraph 1 Social:
Baroque
The social characteristics of an era are strongly influential to the attitudes that
composers had towards composing their works and the approaches that they took
when doing so. **Maybe find a quote about how social factors can influence the
composition of music*** During the Baroque period, composers were perceived as
inferiors and treated like servants by the aristocrats, thus being expected to cater to
their musical whims, often at a moment s notice. Musical directors were paid
generously, however this came with a price. They were held responsible for a vast
variety of tasks, including not only the composition of music but also the
maintenance of instruments and music library, overseeing performances and
disciplining musicians. Court musicians often earned more and were wealthier than
Church musicians, and so many of
Medical Malpractice Lawsuits
Medical Malpractice Lawsuits I will be proving how medical malpractice lawsuits
can be avoided through advanced calibers of training and technique. Hospitals and
doctors who tend to and care for the patients that are in their vicinity daily are
obligated to aid in whatever the victims of sickness require. The last thing patients
need to undergo is another hardship, such as an additional disease because the
assigned doctor is not qualified for the position of high ranking that is demanded.
With more efficient means of practice, medical malpractice lawsuits will be greatly
diminished, sparing the wealth and licenses of both the doctors and hospitals.
Medical malpractice is a serious issue that has been occurring since the middle of the

Assess The Importance Of Phonemic Awareness
The workbooks that you use for the letter and sounds shows the phonemic awareness.
Phonemic awareness means the workbook should help your child in the learning and
being able to understand the sound of the letters that help to form words and segment
the letters in the words. Phonological awareness helps in the decoding and the child s
spelling abilities which will help in later readingand spelling. (Diane M Barone
/Marla H. Mallette, 2013). An example is a child that has phonemic awareness will
identify rhyming words in the workbook. Children can build phonemic awareness by
practicing the sounds. I like to sing an ABC rap it does the letter, sound, and a word
that starts with that sound. Making sure to have the right workbook the child can...

Children that are exposed to different types of print and books are better readers
and writers than those that have not been exposed to print and books. There
should be a lot of reading material in the child s environment, home and school.
Exposing your child to bookstores and libraries at an early age will foster the child
s interest in literature. Another way early childhood literacy can be formed is
giving your child support and encouragement for your child s progress in literacy. A
caregiver can help increase a child s literacy by reading storybooks to the child,
getting the child involved in activities that help them in reading and writing and
applying them. This is done by providing learning opportunities so the child can use
what they have learnt and making sure there is the right print materials. Having the
caregivers model literacy activities with the children enhances the child s literacy
and helps them to want to be engaged in it. (Strickland, D. S., Riley Ayers, S.
(2006, April). When a child grows up in a place where an adult shows the child
literacy behavior they will want to do the same behavior. This can be writing a letter,
reading or just writing a shopping
Rape of the Lock by Alexander Pope Essay
Rape of the Lock by Alexander Pope
Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock is not studied and admired only because of
its style and form, but also for its base content and underlying themes. Pope s ability
to manipulate text into mock heroic form, constructing a flow of satirical description
is what makes this poem one of such quality.
The piece was first published in 1712 by the request of Pope s friend, John Caryll.
It was to make peace between the Fermors and Petres, two prominent Roman
Catholic families at the time. The feud was supposedly caused by an incident at a
card game that ended with Lord Petre cutting a lock from the hair of lovely Arabella
Fermor. Caryll had hoped that Pope wrote a poem that would sooth the tempers ...

Pope s over exaggeration of Belinda s preparation accomplishes his intended goal of
revealing how worthless he believes these duties to be.
It is also necessary to discuss the fact that Pope seems to realize that the extreme
vanity is caused by his own gender. If Belinda s preparations are not for her male
acquaintances, then why? Speaking through Clarissa, Pope allows the reader to take
a step away from satire with a taste of sensibility, How vain are the Glories, all our
Pains, / Unless good sense preserve what beauty gains.... (N. 1) Here the author
seems to be pushing for a lack of shallowness in the opposite sex.
Using The Rape of the Lock, Pope has criticized and attempted to explain the
problem he himself sees in society s view of women and women s view of
themselves. It is also apparent that he has attempted to understand the situation. Pope
reveals a hint of sensitivity within the maze of critical satire:
Nature to your undoing arms mankind With strength of body, artifice of mind; But
gives your feeble sex, made up of fears, No guard but virtue, no redress but tears. Yet

likely, looking for some realization from his male peers? The Rape of the Lock can

Market Planning
What is Marketing Planning?
Formal, Informal and Behavioral Approaches to Marketing Planning.
There is no commonly accepted definition or approach to marketing planning. This is
because of a number of problems that pepper the marketing planning literature
relating to the size of an organization, the market or sector in which it exists, its
culture, and the human beings that work within it. There is a huge body of research
that has considered marketing planning and its models, structures and processes,
theory and typologies. The only one thing that is certain is that, after considering the
findings of a number of studies and as the output of many informed views, there is no

The subject of marketing planning has generated a large number of papers, books
and studies that have approached the subject in a number of ways. The earliest
references to marketing planning were made in the 1960 s. Marketing planning for
industrial products has been investigated (Ames 1960). Consumer manufacturing
companies were scrutinized by Stasch and Lanktree in the 1980 s. Hopkins (1981)
looked into 265 US companies of varying sizes. US grocery manufacturers from the
top one hundred spenders on advertising were examined in 1982 by Cosse and
Swan. From a geographical point of view, the early research was done in the United
States of America followed by research from British academics.
McDonald s 1982 PhD thesis looked at the views of mainly directors and chief
executives from UK companies, whilst Greenley (1982, 1983) investigated both
manufacturing companies and service companies, all with varying turnovers and
with differences in size. Therefore strategic versus tactical marketing planning may
be an oversimplification. As can be seen from the short series of selected examples
above, companies that adopt marketing planning come from a variety of market
sectors, different countries and cultures, from companies with a range of turnovers.
Informal Marketing Plans
Formal and informal approaches to marketing planning were investigated by Lyles
(1993). This study found that neither had any

Introduction
Business intelligence and analytics (BIA), a term coined in 1989, has gained much
reaction in the IT practitioner community and academia over the past two decades.
BIA refers to: (1) the technologies, systems, practices, and applications that (2)
analyze critical business data to (3) help an enterprise better understand its business
and market (research paper).
Traditionally, business intelligence (BI) has been used as an umbrella term to
describe the concepts and methods to improve business decision making by using
fact based decision support systems. BI also includes the underlying architectures,
tools, databases, applications, and methodologies. BI s major objectives are to
enable interactive and easy access to diverse data, enable manipulation and
transformation of these data, and provide business managers and analysts the ability
to conduct appropriate analyses and perform the actions [Turban et al. 2008; Wixom
et al. 2011]. Successful BI initiatives have been reported for major industries, from
healthcare and airlines, to major IT and telecommunication firms [Anderson Lehman
et al. 2004; Carte et al. 2005; Turban et al. 2008].
As a datacentric approach, BI heavily relies on the various advanced data collection,

A Hero As A Hero
Inspirational would be the one and only word that can define a hero. Heroes, are
not the kind of people who have to be asked to either help someone or something.
A hero is someone who takes the time to help without even being asked. That
person would be inspirational to so many due to he or she s actions. Heroes thrive
from what s given to do what s best for our society, allowing our generation to
become a hero. And we must allow our generation to strive for virtue, instead of
ridiculing it. The author Oliver Stone said trying to explain, the importance of
what a hero is and can be. By letting kids find what they can do what their life will
allow them to find how they stand up and help. And, that s exactly what a hero
would convey for those characteristics. People who have the hope for motivating
themselves for the existence of others, just like the soldier in afghanistan. In the

Investigate how PH Affects the Ability of Raw Meat to Absorb Water
I am planning an experiment to investigate how PH affects the ability of raw meat to
absorb water.
В· Independent Variable
The independent variable for this experiment is the PH of the solution the steak is
marinated in. I will achieve a range of different PH values by using buffers set at
PH 1, 3, 5, 7, 9. I predict that there will be an optimum PH where the steak will
absorb the most water.
The amount of water absorbed by the raw meat will increase as you increase the PH
up to the optimum and then decrease the PH as the PH increases past the optimum.
В· Dependent Variable
The dependent variable for this experiment is the amount of water absorbed by the
diced steak by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of calculating the difference in mass, I will calculate percentage change in
mass to account for any small differences in mass.
Also a constant surface area of the diced steak is important, otherwise there would be
a larger area for the solution to act on causing more tenderisation therefore altering the
overall results.
The temperature at which the meat is marinated at would need to remain constant. At
a higher temperature, molecules are moving faster therefore osmosis is more likely to
occur. The experiment will be conducted at room temperature, although a more
scientific method would be the use of an
incubator. I will conduct the experiment in the same place so that each test is
experiencing the same temperature changes.
The time allowed for marination, each steak should be in the buffer solution for 12
hours all getting the same length of time otherwise a longer time could provide an
opportunity for more water to be absorbed. Drying of the steak pieces, dab twice on
each side. If some are dabbed more than the other it would alter the end percentage
change in mass.
В· Method
В® Divide the diced steak into five equally sized piles.
В® Using electronic scales weigh each pile to make the masses as similar as possible.
Record the masses.
В® Add 50ml of buffer solution PH1 to a beaker and repeat the process for the other
buffer solutions.
В® Put one set of diced steak into each beaker.
В® Leave the 5 beakers for 12hours allowing the raw meat to

Among the many fabulous pieces of art housed at the DMA, there lies a hidden gem
that has yet to be on display. The Album of La Revue Blanche, a collection of prints
commissioned by the late 19th century Parisian anarchist journal, provides not only
an insight into popular fin de siГЁcle French print culture, but also a beautiful case
study in the techniques developed by leading artists in the realm of fine art
lithography. It is the goal of this exhibit to explore the place of the graphic arts in
early modern art through the example of this journal, and to examine more closely
the stylistic hallmarks of the lithograph in a more detailed way.
Lithography: Method
Lithography is planographic printing process that makes use of the immiscibility of
grease and water. In the lithographic process, ink is applied to a grease treated
image on the flat printing surface. Non image areas hold moisture and repel the
lithographic ink. This inked surface is then printed by means of a special press as in
most fine art printmaking . The earliest though no longer the only method of
creating lithographs involved the use of a block of porous limestone. An image is
drawn with tusche a carbon pigment in liquid form, and litho crayon a type of
grease pencil before the printing surface is fixed, moistened, and inked in
preparation for printing. The printing itself is done on a press that exerts a sliding
pressure, and because it undergoes virtually no wear in
Development Of Domino Cmos Technology For The Design

Abstract This Paper includes the development of domino CMOS technology for
the design of XOR gate. Low power dissipation is one of the main design
considerations for high level performance circuits. The leakage power dissipation is
controlled by the factor gate oxide leakage and threshold leakage and thus the overall
leakage of domino XOR circuits. To show the efficiency of the proposed model, a
simple example like implementing of XOR gate with P type domino XOR, N type

The third source of power dissipation is leakage power dissipation. In the
MOSFET, the leakage current comprised of six short channel mechanisms.
Reverse bias PN junction leakage, sub threshold leakage, gate oxide leakage, gate
current due to hot carrier injection. Gate includes drain leakage and channel punch
through current. Among these components the two main contributes of leakage
are reversed biased PN junction current and sub threshold current . Dynamic power

the most effective way to achieve low power performance VDD is directly
proportional to the leakage power. If the supply voltage reduced and keeping the
constant threshold voltage at its original value results in drastic degrading in
speed because as the supply voltage is reduced the gate drive voltage (VDD VT)
reduces and thus the delay increases since propagation delay in a CMOS.To
overcome the delay degradation threshold voltage (VT) is to be reduced. Reduction
in threshold voltage causes an exponential increase in sub threshold leakage current.
As one continues to scale down supply voltage and threshold voltage . In this paper,
a low leakage domino XOR circuit is proposed. Proposed circuit employed mixed N

Happiness In Abilene Texas
Happiness is one of the most significant dimensions of human experience. Many
people can argue that happiness is a meaningful and desirable entity. Studies
indicate that everyone pursues happiness in various aspects of their life. Our four
fathers saw happiness as a need, so they made the pursuit of happiness as one of the
three unalienable rights branded in the Declaration of Independence. There is a
sense of complexity behind the meaning of happiness; its definition is not definite.
Think of happiness as a rope; there are many thin fiber strands bonded together to
become the strength of the rope. Like the analogy of the rope, there are numerous
factors that can contribute to an individual s overall happiness in life. This study is

a complete disregard for gender. The gap between whites and blacks neared to a

own definitions of happiness. One of these constructs was called eudaimonia which

Paris Bordone During The Italian Renaissance
During the Italian Renaissance, societal changes allowed for the introduction of high
class pieces of artwork into the elite community. Artists such as Michelangelo, and
Botticelli flourished during this era, creating masterpieces that continue to relevant in
this day, and age. One such painter, Paris Bordone played a very influential role in
the renaissanceand produced numerous works such as Annunciation, the Baptism of
Christ, Bathsheba Bathing, with an African Servant, Chess Player, and A Portrait of
a Lady. Born on July 5th, 1500, Bordone lived in Treviso before moving to Venice
in
his late adolescence. He applied for a brief apprenticeship with Renaissance giant
Titian, and branched out as a painter by the 1520 s. There he began his career
painting biblical portraits in Italy. Somewhere between 1534 1535, Bordone first
gained recognition as an maestro for painting a canvas of the The Fisherman
Presenting the Ring to Doge Gradenigo. This boosted his career, but also
showcased his limitations as his usage of perspective in his painting created
dwarfed backgrounds. However, this didn t detract his fame as he became a
famous name in Venetian cultural achievement. Bordone use of Mannerism lead to
his crowning achievement, the Portrait of Giovanni Jacopo Caraglio in 1552. This
piece of art embodies the four ideals of the Renaissance, as well as providing a critic
of society. The Portrait of Giovanni Jacopo Caraglio was fabricated for master
goldsmith Giovanni Jacopo
Trial of Socrates
Socrates was a great philosopher of the Greek world. He was quite an atypical and
distinctive person. Being different from all the other philosophers of the land,
Socrates was teaching his students ideas totally out of the ordinary from what the
society believed was right. As a result, he displeased many people so much that they
decided to get rid of him. Socrateswas put to trial, accused of spoiling the youth of
Athens, tried and sentenced to death. His personal defense is described in works two
of his students: Xenophon and Plato. Both of them wrote papers called Apology,
which is the Greek word for defense . In this essay I used Apology by Plato as the
main resource, since it contents a more full account of the trial of Socrates and...

However, I do feel quite a bit of compassion for his accusers. Socrates was changing
their sons minds by making them question the supremacy and intelligence of the
people whose wisdom was recognized in the state. He made young people question
even the intelligence of their fathers. It should not have been easy for the fathers to
stay put and listen to him philosophizing about his ideas of the world. No wonder
Socrates had to beg them to listen to the end and not to interrupt at least three times
throughout the Apology.
Despite the fact that I do not quite approve Socrates attitude and the way he was
defending himself, I would not be able to give him any advice on doing it
differently. This man had a very insightful, logical and genuine mind. He was
teaching his disciples his beliefs. It was his beliefs he spoke about in the court. In
order to defend himself and make a positive impression on the jury, Socrates would
have had to mask his convictions and pretend to be something he was not at all.
Besides, I do not think the he would be able to apologize and promise not to
challenge people on their wisdom ever again. He just would not be able to keep the
promise! This was his life and Socrates was already seventy years of age too late to
change and start forming his ideas and opinions all over again. If I could speak to
the famous Greek now, I would beg him not to provoke the jury and apologize to
them, but there is no way
Aristotle Segregates
Aristotle segregates virtues into two categories and they are moral and intellectual.
Aristotle believes that moral virtues is a product of habits, while intellectual
virtues come from learning or life experience. He stated that since nothing...can
form a habit contrary to its nature (Book II, 1), virtues are only possible to form by
habits. For intellectual virtues, it can only be perfected over a period of a time, as
well with experience. A more concrete point that will solidify this conclusion is that
virtues are first learnt, then it will be presented, and the everyday life experience of
the virtueis in diversified position and situations will lead a way for development.

The show will be a magnificent, opulent, tremendous, stupendous, gargantuan
bedazzlement. A sensual ravishment. It will be spectacular, spectacular. No words in
the vernacular can describe this great event, you ll be dumb with wonderment... And
on top of your fee, you ll be involved artistically.
It is with these words that
Harold Zidler the owner of the titular nightclub in Baz Luhrmann s Moulin Rouge!
describes a theatre play to his financier, and at the same time, fittingly describes not
only the key features of Moulin Rouge!, but also the defining characteristics of
Luhrmann s signature genre, Red Curtain Cinema , to the audience of the film. The
term, coined by the director himself, is distinguished by films that follow a simple,
recognisable narrative set in a world of heightened reality : Luhrmann describes the
central parameters as a simple, even naГЇve story based on a primary myth...set in a
heightened interpretation of a world that is at once familiar yet distant and exotic .
The use of music, set, costumes, as well as more technical features such as rapid
cuts and editing are employed to make the simple story more dramatic, amplifying
the movie experience to a degree that viewers are made wholly aware of the artistry
and technology involved. In contrast to naturalistic cinematography which typically
aims to mimic reality as if the film could genuinely be taking place somewhere in the
world, Red Curtain films keep the audience engaged at all
The Battle Of San Jacinto
The Battle of San Jacinto
The Battle of San Jacinto was a decisive battle that helped to secure the
independence of Texas. The Battle occurred on the 21st of April, 1836 in which the
Texan Army led by General Sam Houston defeated the Mexican Army led by General
Santa Anna. Despite the Mexican Army having a superior number of troops and
equipment, they were not able to defeat the Texan Army, and thus led to the eventual
capture of General Santa Anna and the withdraw of Mexican Forces from Texas
(Hardin, 1994). The one key element that aided the victory of the Texan Army was the
patience and terrain knowledge that General Houston had. What if General Santa
Anna had sent a scout element to recon the terrain? What if General Santa Anna...

General Cos established a headquarters in San Antonio, Texas and for two months
tried to repel the Texan forces from taking his position. On December 11, 1835,
General Cos signed a surrender and removed all Mexican forces in Texas (de Cos,
2015).
On February 15 and 16, 1836, General Santa Anna and his men crossed the Rio
Grande to put down the uprising and prevent Texas from becoming its own state. The
Mexican Army successfully won multiple skirmishes and battles, to include the
Alamo and Goliad (Hardin, 2004).
On March 1, 1836, the Convention of 1836 met at Washington on the Brazos and
signed the Texas Declaration of Independence (Hardin, 1994). On March 4, 1836,
General Houston was given military authority of all land forces to include regular,
volunteer, and militia forces (Moore, 2004).
Operational Environment. The Battle of San Jacinto took place in Harris County,
Texas near the Buffalo Bayou. The battlefield is a coastal prairie bordered on one
side by the Buffalo Bayou and the other side by the San Jacinto River. Marshland
and a lake enclose the third side. The fourth side opened onto a grassland that
stretched for miles until it ends with another river with one bridge to cross it. The
Texans made camp in a wooded area along the bank of the bayou which provided
good cover and concealment. It also helped hide their strength, but did not leave them
with a retreat route. The Mexican Army made camp in a plain near the San Jacinto
Alzheimer s Disease And Its Effects On The Lives Of...
Introduction
Neurodegenerative diseases continue to affect the lives of millions Americans each
year, with incidence and prevalence rates ever increasing. These diseases cause
degeneration or death of nerve cells in the brain. These diseases can cause a financial
and emotional burden on not only patients themselves, but also family members and
care givers as well. Molecular mechanisms that underlie these diseases have remained
relatively unclear, despite much research. Understanding the mechanisms of these
diseases are facilitated by utilizing model organisms to study pathways involved in
neurodegenerative diseases. One such model organism is the Caenorhabditis elegans
nematode. The C. elegans roundworm has displayed usefulness as a template to study
neurodegenerative diseases in humans, including Parkinson s disease and Alzheimer s
disease.
C. elegans has shown to be a useful model for the study of Alzheimer s disease.
Sydney Brenner first introduced the nematode as a model organism in 1963
(Brenner, 1974). The small, transparent roundworm is easy for manipulation, with
a life cycle of 3 days from egg to adult at 25 degrees Celsius (Brenner, 1974). It is
hermaphroditic and self fertilizing allowing for rapid production of offspring. Its
lifespan is between 2 to 3 weeks, which is another beneficial feature for scientific
research due to its relatively short timeframe. The C. elegans genome was completed
in 1998 and showed that about 38% of worm genes have human

Christianity Protestant Reformer Research Paper
Christianity: Protestant Reformer Martin Luther
Martin Luther, born into the Catholic Church in 1483, is considered to be the
father of Protestantism. 1 Luther was a devout man who dedicated himself to the
study of the bible; in addition to being a Professor of Biblical Studies at the
University of Wittenberg, he was also a priest and a monk. He spent a lot of his
time focusing on what one could do to earn eternal salvation as it was written about
in the Bible. This was especially troubling to him given the actions of his colleagues
at the University of Wittenberg and his fellow priests and monks. He felt the actions
of many of those in the Church that he loved were both immoral and corrupt, and
especially in the midst of his own struggles with the idea of salvation, these actions
troubled him deeply. 2 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had issues with abuses of power amongst clergy, especially with regard to
church finances. He disliked the idea of indulgences, which involved members of
the congregations paying priests and other leaders for abolition of their sins,
effectively bribing church leaders for their own salvation. More than this, spiritual
merit was attached to donations made to the church, and masses were able to be
purchased for the dead. The University of Whittenberg held many sacred relics,
including hairs said to have been from the Virgin Mary and the crown of thorns
placed on Jesus head during crucifixion. Rather than cherishing these items for their
religious worth, they were sold. 3
Because of these things, Martin Luther was raged with a fierce and agitated
conscience . 4 After intense study, Luther followed the traditional method of
protesting within the Catholic church he nailed his complaints to the Church door and
invited them to meet with him. Because of his refusal to take back these complaints,
and despite his intention to stay in the church, he was excommunicated in 1521.

Because they are highly concentrated, many can cause harmful effects to the skin.
Instead, they should be combined with a carrier oil that is an oil based vegetable
product. Essential oils can also be combined with waxes, butters, and alcohols.
Not Patentable
The fact that essential oils cannot be patented is a real shame, because large drug
companies will not spend money studying a product that they cannot patent, the many
wonderful effects of essential oils may never be truly understood. It also means that
the amount of scientific studies that are conducted on essential oils is extremely
limited because researchers cannot get money to study them. Additionally, the lack of
research means that most mainstream practitioners will never recommend that you
use them, even though many of them may use them themselves.
Avoid Plastics
When cleaning with essential oils, always make sure to use a sponge or mop that
contains no plastic. Combining essential oils with plastic can create toxic fumes.
Likewise, never store essential oils in a plastic

What affects interest in politics? Education, Age, and Party ID play a huge roll in
political interest. Education of the political process can determine the interest of
voters. Voters that are not informed of the political process are least likely to vote or
keep in check with political campaigns or elections without a common ground
understanding. The Age of voters also determines their political interest. At a
younger age where voters aren t fully committed with an income or support and
provide for themselves are more likely to not be affected with the policies and
issues that are put into place by politicians. With not being affected by this they
have less interest, but with the younger generation being the one commonly over
using and blowing up social media, they are easily influenced by political advocate
blogs, campaign advertising, in order to feel part of a group or wanting to be
within the popular vote. How does social media/Internet affect interest in politics?
With the internet and social media rising exponentially every second this has lead to
mass media and news coverage to a 24/7 level where the news is always on, and
always reporting. With this constant flow of current events and news it informs the

it has his spirit. Mom really did care about her husband and son. All she wanted

However, there was a significant differentiation between Starbucks and the
independent specialty coffeehouses. The brand image of Starbucks also had some
rough edges. More customers were beginning to agree with the fact the Starbucks
cared primarily about making money and building more stores. Also, despite the high
customer snapshot scores customer satisfaction scores were declining. It was
believed that there was a service gap between Starbucks scores on key attributes and
customer satisfaction. In polls by customers improvements to service, particularly
speed of service, was most mentioned for improvement.
Has the company s service declined or is it simply measuring satisfaction the wrong
way?
Customer behavior and shift in customer base are major factors for this decline in
servive satisfaction. The company didn t follow the changing trend and continued
doing the same things which clearly were not working anymore, leading to
unsatisfied customers. Demographics changes means these people value other
aspects more than others. The behaviour also, as most customers visit the store only 5
times a month.
The overall company service has not necessarily declined. Overall, customers are
pleased with the cleanliness, atmosphere, and product quality. However, wait time is
steadily increasing. This is the main problem. While some people go to Starbucks for
the experience, many people get their coffee and are out the door. Therefore, wait
time is exceedingly

The Globalization of the International Space Station
Abstract
Space exploration was born out of the intense competition between the two great
superpowers of the 20th century. The space race was a byproduct of the arms race
between the United States and the Soviet Union. Both sides devoted immense
resources and manpower to attempt to surpass the other in astronautical achievement.
With the dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991, the approach towards
space exploration changed dramatically. What began as a fierce competition between
major powers became a partnership involving many nations working together. Space
exploration projects, like the International Space Station, are only feasible through
international joint effort, and because of this have helped to foster more cooperative
relations between countries not only diplomatically, but also economically.
Introduction
In 1986, the USSR launched its space station Mir in orbit. NASA proposed to
construct a permanently manned orbiting space station in response. The US began
building the space station Freedom, working with Canada, several European
countries, and Japan as partners in the endeavor. Just as work on Freedom began,
however, the Soviet Union collapsed. This presented an opportunity for the US to
work with Russia in space rather than compete with them. Freedom was reengineered
into the new International

identity, Hercules and April realized that they had to find it on their own. This is
because you can t have people help you to find out who you really are. Another thing
that Hercules and April have in common is that they had a lot of obstacles to face

9th Street Children Park Problem
Kids thrive off interaction with each other and playing . They need this interaction to
grow socially, physically, and mentally. When there playgrounds get torn down,
mistreated, and rundown it presents problems for these kids lives. The problem I am
focusing on is the 9th Street Childrens Park. The problem with it is that it s getting
worn down and becoming a small hazard.
This problem has been becoming worse and worse over the past decade. Concerns
have grown with it as well. Parents are concerned about their children s safety, and I
would have to both agree and disagree. The main problem with the park is the main
structure. The wood is untreated and the bolts are well past starting to rust. Rust can
turn metal sharp and increase the risk of injury and could cause a serious
emergency. The park is over 20 years old and in my lifetime I don t know of any
attempts to fix the problem until recently.
First and foremost the safety of our children must come first, and anything done
must be done in the best interest of them. But we should also be keeping a city
treasure intact for them to enjoy and for their kids to enjoy. My three part solution
to the problem is to move ahead with temporary closing of the park, but for the
purpose of a renovation. The second part of the solution is to ... Show more content

injuring children and causing bigger problems than a playground. We as a community
can do what we feel is right for our children. We owe it to our children to keep this
park intact and safe to play on. We need to think of more solutions to fix this problem
and go to city meetings to peacefully protest our opinion on this
Healthcare Challenges Of Health Care
GMFCs Health Care Challenges Health care costs in America have been on the
rise for quite some time. Majority of employees obtain some level of health care
insurance through their employees. Despite 15.7% of the U.S. population not
having any source of health care, accessibility and accessibility continues to rise
due to soaring health care costs (Cole McCullough, 2006). Private sector company
s, such as GMFC, are faced with making harsh financial decisions on benefits
impacting their employees. As a multidivisional company, GMFC employs over
50,000 employees and is faced with the same rising cost expenditures many other
corporations are faced with. This paper will address and describe GMFCs currently
state of health benefits and concerns, compare and contrast the benefits of using
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) benefits on future health care
alternative benefits at GMFC to commence bargaining renegotiations with the Local
385 union, to ensure the overall financial posture of GMFC. Health Care Benefits
GMFC s current health care coverage with Vesuvius Health Care (VCA) is
considered one of the largest health care insurance companies in the United States.
Currently VCA has been utilized for procedures and negotiating payment levels with
various health care providers across the U.S. As a result of rising costs, PPACA is
now requiring GMFC to accommodate new benefits, which now have age restrictions,
and increased
The Notebook And The Last Song Essay
The famous Nicholas Sparks novels The Notebook and The Last Song are based on
non fictional events, while Rapunzel is a fictional short story fully based on
fairytale. Although these are two different genres, all three pieces share a common
story line and even the same themes. The story line, like any princess fairytale or
romantic novel involves two people who fall in lovebut go through many obstacles to
be together. However, in the end, they live happily ever after. The two themes that
these three pieces of literature have in common are determination and fate.
Throughout this paper you will see this story line and those themes unfold.
We hear determination in our everyday lives, no matter our age nor our location.
Although we may hear this constantly, determination is something very hard to
obtain. For these stories, the word determination is nothing but known and relived
constantly through the character s lives. In addition to determination, we hear the
word fate constantly. We ve heard this growing up through watching any and every
Disney movie out there, including Rapunzel . The definition, according to
Wikipedia, is as followed: be destined to happen, turn out, or act in a particular
way. Everyone is born with a fate, we are all here on this earth for a different
purpose and fate. We just don t know our fate as we go through life, just like these
characters.
Rapunzel is a short story by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. The plot of the story is the
same as the Disney
How To Write An Enzyme Lab Report
Before the experiment a theory was made and information that was learned before
was accounted for in the observations and questions and answers. The information
included background information and basic information needed to understand and to
conduct the experiment. The theory was that the canned pineapple and the fresh
pineapple would dissolve the jello, because they both have enzymes called bromelain
that was supposed to dissolve the jello and at the time it was unknown that heat was
applied to the canned pineapple. This concludes that the theory was disproved
because the background information on enzymes shows that the enzyme functions
can be stopped by using heat, which changes the structure of the amino acids making
them unfold causing them to denature. Which is why the canned pineapple enzymes
are inactive and cannot get the jello and break it down. In conclusion the original
hypothesiswas incorrect and so was the theory about the enzymes being in both types
of pineapple.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reactants were the fresh pineapple and the jello with the fresh pineapple and the
canned pineapple. The reason why the fresh and the jello in with the fresh pineapple
are the reactants are because they both start an enzymatic reaction when they interact
with each other the jello turned liquid because of the active enzymes in the fresh
pineapple. While the canned pineapple is a reactant, because it the enzymes had a
reaction when they denatured when they were heated. The constants of the
experiment are the petri dishes because they aren t affected by any of the enzyme
because the plastic is not a substrate that the enzyme can break down or join to make
it into a bigger molecule making it a constant. The other constant is the jello with the
canned pineapple. The canned pineapple enzymes are not active and can not alter the
jello at all. Which makes the jello with the canned pineapple a
Hyperthyroidism Occurs When The Thyroid Gland
Hyperthyroid Disease Hyperthyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland, a butterfly
shape in front of the neck, overproduces thyroid hormone. The thyroid gland is
abundant with blood vessels and it secretes thyroid hormone (Kumar 22). Thyroid
hormone influences many different internal body functions such as, metabolism,
growth, development, turning food into energy, and increases body temperature.
Thyroidhormone is very important for brain development and normal growth during
infancy; furthermore, a newborn s blood drawn from their heel and sent for screening
determines of level of thyroid stimulating hormone (Samuels 2). However, when the
thyroid gland over produces thyroid hormonea lot of things in the body development
can go wrong. The over produced thyroid hormone forces the body to expedite. It is
important to know that one has hyperthyroidism, because it can result in heart, bone
problems, and thyroid storm; which heart rate, blood pressure, and the increase in
body temperature can be fatal. Hyperthyroidism is more common in females than
males and the older a person is the more likely they will have it. Around 27 millions
of American have thyroid disease, however only 14 million receive treatment. Also,
stress is the main aspect that affects the thyroid gland in either over producing or
under producing thyroid hormone (Kumar 22). There are many causes of
hyperthyroidism, such as Grave s disease, hyperfunctioning thyroid nodules, and
thyroiditis. Graves disease is
National Identification Card Won’t Work Essay
National Identification Card Won t Work
The debate on National Identification card has restarted since the terrorists attacked
the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. The issue of
introducing the National Identification Card came into people s view after a long
time hoping that it would reduce the danger of terrorism in the future. United States
is not the only one country who is introducing the National Identification Card. There
are other hundreds of countries that have already had National Identification Card in
use in order to improve security in the country, assist law enforcement and make a
delivery of services more efficiently to all the citizens of the nation. People think that

Introduced new license could alert the authorities about each and every action of the
suspected terrorist.
But the National Identification card will have some biometrics data like finger
print, retinal Scan, iris scanning which people thinks that it would be hard to forge.
Using biometrics data such as fingerprints and retina scan can help in verifying that
the card actually belongs to the cardholder (Clement). More likely people are
thinking about introducing the smart card which when swiped will show all the
information like where you are and what you are doing while smart cards are among
the most secure technologies available.
National ID card could combine the functions of a driver s license, social security
registration, immigration documents, and other government issued identification
so that it would be easier to carry just one card instead of all these form of
identification. Once the card is issued then every individual is required to carry
and present an officially issued ID card when asked, and it would also be required
to get particular services. If the card cannot be presented on demand then that person
would be regarded with suspension. If the person who forgot or lost the card falls
under the minority group then the person becomes a suspect and might get some
kind of charges or might even go to jail.
National security is good but not at the cost of personal freedom (Dye). Demanding
ID card at any time will be considered as the freedom

The On The Hook Up Culture
Imagine yourself as a 19 year old college student; fast asleep as it is midnight on a
Tuesday night, and all of a sudden you hear a buzzing sound coming from your
phone, which is placed, on your night stand. You are groggy but reach for your
phone to see whom it could possibly be, upon opening the message you see it is
from that cute guy Connor from the party Saturday. The message reads: What s
up. Now in earlier decades this message would cause quite the confusion, however
you are from the hook up culture. This type of interaction is far too common and
you receive way too many of these booty call texts to think anything of it. This
paper will be written in a form that analyzes two articles on The Hook up Culture in
college and dating in college. One is written by a college student herself and the
other is written by a professional who studied the topic. The articles provide
evidence that dating has become a thing of the past for college students with proof
that negative outcomes will follow. Allie Bukatman s popular press article The Hook
Up Culture Has Killed The Possibility Of Dating In College, examines what precisely
the hook up culture is and why it s not necessarily a good thing. Bukatman focuses on
the expectations of the hook up culture, explanations for this casual sex phenomenon,
causes for why commitment is an intimidating thing, and power in relationships, all
the while providing her perspective on this matter. In the professional book Hooking
Up,

Hot Essay

  • 1. Hot Essay Crafting an essay on the seemingly innocuous topic of "Hot Essay" may appear deceptively straightforward at first glance. One might assume that a subject with such a simple title could be effortlessly explored and dissected within the confines of a standard essay format. However, delving into the intricacies of this theme reveals a myriad of challenges that can make the writing process considerably more demanding than anticipated. To begin with, the term "hot" is inherently subjective, encompassing a wide array of meanings and interpretations. Whether approached from a literal or metaphorical standpoint, the need for precision in defining the scope and context becomes imperative. Juggling the diverse connotations and implications of "hot" can lead to a writing endeavor fraught with the complexities of clarity and coherence. Moreover, the challenge extends beyond mere semantics, as the essay would necessitate a nuanced exploration of the chosen interpretation. Whether addressing the scorching temperatures of a summer day, the trending nature of a particular topic, or the passionate intensity of an argument, the writer must navigate through diverse facets, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging discussion. As the exploration progresses, maintaining a cohesive narrative and preventing the essay from devolving into a disjointed compilation of ideas adds another layer of difficulty. Weaving together the disparate threads of analysis requires a delicate balance, demanding a keen awareness of transitions and logical progression to keep the reader tethered to the overarching theme. • 2. The Influence Of Voting Laws In The United States In 1870, five years after the end of the Civil War, the United States ratified the 15th Amendment to the Constitution. The amendment would guarantee that newly freed Black (male) American citizens would be granted the right to vote. Still, decades of various discriminatory practices were and still are used to prevent minorities from voting in elections nationwide. For years, racially charged bigotry would force minority voters from the voting polls by requiring the use of literacy tests, ID requests, and gerrymandering. Even now, minorities struggle with voting rights and voter suppression year after year in local, county, and nationwide elections. Voter suppression effects and will continue to affect minority Americans and the outcome of elections as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the act did do amazing things for voting rights especially in the south, voter suppression still exists today. Every year, more and more GOP officials are trying to stop minority Americans from voting, in seemingly more legal ways than they did in the 1960 s. For instance, in the 2016 election alone, 17 new states added new voting restrictions. Unnecessary voting laws are just another way biased government officials are making it even more complicated for citizens of the United States vote in city, county, state wide or nation wide elections. Gerrymandering is also a major way that officials are trying to stop or complicate citizens from voting. Gerrymandering is the manipulation of boundaries of an electoral constituency so as to favor one class or party. Gerrymandering is one of the greatest threats to American democracy today. Officials can redraw county lines to accommodate to their liking. If a there are five districts in a state and three are Democratic, then the Republicans can maneuver the districts to their liking and vice versa. Right now, with the majority GOP Congress, Senate, and House, Democratic districts are in more danger than

Racism in Disney Movies Essay Anastasia Trus WRTG 3020 Professor Pat Sullivan 30 March 2010 Racism in Disney During the last several decades, the media has become a strong agent in directing and controlling social beliefs and behaviors. Children, by nature, can be particularly susceptible to the influencing powers of the media, opening an avenue where media created especially for children can indoctrinate entire generations. Disney movies, like all other media are powerful vehicles for certain notions about our culture, such as racism. (Giroux 32). Eliminating Sunflower from the movie may have been intended as harmless and as an attempt to be politically correct; however, it is cinematic decisions such as this that contributed to Disney s reputation of being insensitive to issues of race. It was insulting enough for Disney to include the smiling servant stereotype to begin with, but to make matters worse, they started denying Sunflower s existence with the Fantasia re release in 1960. How does that possibly make things better? A few angered African Americancommunities said, No, you misunderstand. In our perfect, Fantasia world, Africans aren t servants. They don t fucking exist (Weinman 64). A contemporary filmcritic said, What s fun though is that Disney says they never had such a character! We re all delusional (Brunette 123). Maybe it was acceptable in the past to portray characters that had such blatant racist features; nevertheless, it is strange to deny its existence to audiences who had already seen the original version. This is how we deal with our ugly past: we deny it, trivialize it, gloss over it with pretty distractions and wishful thinking. Doing so, we deny ourselves a glimpse of the compelling reality of naked history. The well meaning rush to unmake evil deeds by hiding them from the critical eye of modern sensibilities does nothing to honor the people

Any thought that is contrary to the state s construct is classified as thoughtcrime . The NewspeakOrwell introduces is eerily similar to political correctness, which is defined as conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities (as in matters of sex or race) should be eliminated 2. Political correctness is a plague on modern society, since it stifles social progress. By limiting free speech and encouraging a sense of victimhood, political correctness augments the issues of racism, sexism etc. It also stifles debate by declaring many important issues as taboo. Therefore, the political correctness that is rampant in modern society, although aimed at promoting inclusion and tolerance, is in fact doing nothing but increasing the division that people experience. The politically correct agenda that is widespread and that is pushed by mass media and the political left limits people s freedom of though and expression. One of the primary ways in which it does this is through redefining language and deeming certain lanugage unacceptable, so that contrary opinions are classified as discriminatory and

The purpose of this essay is to provide a comparison between the two musical eras through the exploration of two different composers and their works, namely Antonio Vivaldi and his Four Seasons Spring in the maximized Baroque era and the minimalist approaches of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart s Symphony. Moreover this essay will review the unique social, cultural, technological an musical elements of each period to determine the ways in which these factors influenced the works and styles of their respective composers. Paragraph 1 Social: Baroque The social characteristics of an era are strongly influential to the attitudes that composers had towards composing their works and the approaches that they took when doing so. **Maybe find a quote about how social factors can influence the composition of music*** During the Baroque period, composers were perceived as inferiors and treated like servants by the aristocrats, thus being expected to cater to their musical whims, often at a moment s notice. Musical directors were paid generously, however this came with a price. They were held responsible for a vast variety of tasks, including not only the composition of music but also the maintenance of instruments and music library, overseeing performances and disciplining musicians. Court musicians often earned more and were wealthier than Church musicians, and so many of

Another way early childhood literacy can be formed is giving your child support and encouragement for your child s progress in literacy. Pope s ability to manipulate text into mock heroic form, constructing a flow of satirical description is what makes this poem one of such quality. The piece was first published in 1712 by the request of Pope s friend, John Caryll. It was to make peace between the Fermors and Petres, two prominent Roman Catholic families at the time. The earliest references to marketing planning were made in the 1960 s. Marketing planning for industrial products has been investigated (Ames 1960). Consumer manufacturing companies were scrutinized by Stasch and Lanktree in the 1980 s. Hopkins (1981) looked into 265 US companies of varying sizes. US grocery manufacturers from the top one hundred spenders on advertising were examined in 1982 by Cosse and Swan. From a geographical point of view, the early research was done in the United States of America followed by research from British academics. Pat Roche, Vice President of Engineering, Noetix Products Introduction Business intelligence and analytics (BIA), a term coined in 1989, has gained much reaction in the IT practitioner community and academia over the past two decades. BIA refers to: (1) the technologies, systems, practices, and applications that (2) analyze critical business data to (3) help an enterprise better understand its business and market (research paper). Traditionally, business intelligence (BI) has been used as an umbrella term to describe the concepts and methods to improve business decision making by using fact based decision support systems. BI also includes the underlying architectures, tools, databases, applications, and methodologies. BI s major objectives are to enable interactive and easy access to diverse data, enable manipulation and transformation of these data, and provide business managers and analysts the ability to conduct appropriate analyses and perform the actions [Turban et al. 2008; Wixom et al. 2011]. Successful BI initiatives have been reported for major industries, from healthcare and airlines, to major IT and telecommunication firms [Anderson Lehman et al. 2004; Carte et al. 2005; Turban et al. 2008]. Also a constant surface area of the diced steak is important, otherwise there would be a larger area for the solution to act on causing more tenderisation therefore altering the overall results. The temperature at which the meat is marinated at would need to remain constant. At a higher temperature, molecules are moving faster therefore osmosis is more likely to occur. The experiment will be conducted at room temperature, although a more scientific method would be the use of an incubator. I will conduct the experiment in the same place so that each test is experiencing the same temperature changes. The Album of La Revue Blanche, a collection of prints commissioned by the late 19th century Parisian anarchist journal, provides not only an insight into popular fin de siГЁcle French print culture, but also a beautiful case study in the techniques developed by leading artists in the realm of fine art lithography. It is the goal of this exhibit to explore the place of the graphic arts in early modern art through the example of this journal, and to examine more closely the stylistic hallmarks of the lithograph in a more detailed way. Lithography: Method Lithography is planographic printing process that makes use of the immiscibility of grease and water. In the lithographic process, ink is applied to a grease treated image on the flat printing surface. Non image areas hold moisture and repel the lithographic ink. This inked surface is then printed by means of a special press as in most fine art printmaking . The earliest though no longer the only method of creating lithographs involved the use of a block of porous limestone. An image is drawn with tusche a carbon pigment in liquid form, and litho crayon a type of grease pencil before the printing surface is fixed, moistened, and inked in preparation for printing. The printing itself is done on a press that exerts a sliding pressure, and because it undergoes virtually no wear in

Dynamic power P=CLV2DDfc Leakage power Pleakage=VDDllarge Lowering the supply voltage is the most effective way to achieve low power performance VDD is directly proportional to the leakage power. If the supply voltage reduced and keeping the constant threshold voltage at its original value results in drastic degrading in speed because as the supply voltage is reduced the gate drive voltage (VDD VT) reduces and thus the delay increases since propagation delay in a CMOS.To overcome the delay degradation threshold voltage (VT) is to be reduced. Reduction in threshold voltage causes an exponential increase in sub threshold leakage current. As one continues to scale down supply voltage and threshold voltage . In this paper, a low leakage domino XOR circuit is proposed. Proposed circuit employed mixed N and P type
  • 24. Happiness In Abilene Texas Happiness is one of the most significant dimensions of human experience. Many people can argue that happiness is a meaningful and desirable entity. Studies indicate that everyone pursues happiness in various aspects of their life. Our four fathers saw happiness as a need, so they made the pursuit of happiness as one of the three unalienable rights branded in the Declaration of Independence. There is a sense of complexity behind the meaning of happiness; its definition is not definite. Think of happiness as a rope; there are many thin fiber strands bonded together to become the strength of the rope. Like the analogy of the rope, there are numerous factors that can contribute to an individual s overall happiness in life. This study is going to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 25. Paris Bordone During The Italian Renaissance During the Italian Renaissance, societal changes allowed for the introduction of high class pieces of artwork into the elite community. Artists such as Michelangelo, and Botticelli flourished during this era, creating masterpieces that continue to relevant in this day, and age. One such painter, Paris Bordone played a very influential role in the renaissanceand produced numerous works such as Annunciation, the Baptism of Christ, Bathsheba Bathing, with an African Servant, Chess Player, and A Portrait of a Lady. Born on July 5th, 1500, Bordone lived in Treviso before moving to Venice in his late adolescence. He applied for a brief apprenticeship with Renaissance giant Titian, and branched out as a painter by the 1520 s. There he began his career painting biblical portraits in Italy. Somewhere between 1534 1535, Bordone first gained recognition as an maestro for painting a canvas of the The Fisherman Presenting the Ring to Doge Gradenigo. This boosted his career, but also showcased his limitations as his usage of perspective in his painting created dwarfed backgrounds. However, this didn t detract his fame as he became a famous name in Venetian cultural achievement. Bordone use of Mannerism lead to his crowning achievement, the Portrait of Giovanni Jacopo Caraglio in 1552. This piece of art embodies the four ideals of the Renaissance, as well as providing a critic of society. The Portrait of Giovanni Jacopo Caraglio was fabricated for master goldsmith Giovanni Jacopo

However, I do feel quite a bit of compassion for his accusers. Socrates was changing their sons minds by making them question the supremacy and intelligence of the people whose wisdom was recognized in the state. He made young people question even the intelligence of their fathers. It should not have been easy for the fathers to stay put and listen to him philosophizing about his ideas of the world. No wonder Socrates had to beg them to listen to the end and not to interrupt at least three times throughout the Apology. Despite the fact that I do not quite approve Socrates attitude and the way he was defending himself, I would not be able to give him any advice on doing it differently. This man had a very insightful, logical and genuine mind. He was teaching his disciples his beliefs. It was his beliefs he spoke about in the court. In order to defend himself and make a positive impression on the jury, Socrates would have had to mask his convictions and pretend to be something he was not at all. Besides, I do not think the he would be able to apologize and promise not to challenge people on their wisdom ever again. He just would not be able to keep the promise! This was his life and Socrates was already seventy years of age too late to change and start forming his ideas and opinions all over again. If I could speak to the famous Greek now, I would beg him not to provoke the jury and apologize to them, but there is no way

Introduction Neurodegenerative diseases continue to affect the lives of millions Americans each year, with incidence and prevalence rates ever increasing. These diseases cause degeneration or death of nerve cells in the brain. These diseases can cause a financial and emotional burden on not only patients themselves, but also family members and care givers as well. Molecular mechanisms that underlie these diseases have remained relatively unclear, despite much research. Understanding the mechanisms of these diseases are facilitated by utilizing model organisms to study pathways involved in neurodegenerative diseases. One such model organism is the Caenorhabditis elegans nematode. The C. elegans roundworm has displayed usefulness as a template to study neurodegenerative diseases in humans, including Parkinson s disease and Alzheimer s disease. C. elegans has shown to be a useful model for the study of Alzheimer s disease. Sydney Brenner first introduced the nematode as a model organism in 1963 (Brenner, 1974). The small, transparent roundworm is easy for manipulation, with a life cycle of 3 days from egg to adult at 25 degrees Celsius (Brenner, 1974). It is hermaphroditic and self fertilizing allowing for rapid production of offspring. Its lifespan is between 2 to 3 weeks, which is another beneficial feature for scientific research due to its relatively short timeframe. The C. elegans genome was completed in 1998 and showed that about 38% of worm genes have human

Christianity Protestant Reformer Research Paper Christianity: Protestant Reformer Martin Luther Martin Luther, born into the Catholic Church in 1483, is considered to be the father of Protestantism. 1 Luther was a devout man who dedicated himself to the study of the bible; in addition to being a Professor of Biblical Studies at the University of Wittenberg, he was also a priest and a monk. He spent a lot of his time focusing on what one could do to earn eternal salvation as it was written about in the Bible. This was especially troubling to him given the actions of his colleagues at the University of Wittenberg and his fellow priests and monks. He felt the actions of many of those in the Church that he loved were both immoral and corrupt, and especially in the midst of his own struggles with the idea of salvation, these actions troubled him deeply. 2 ... He disliked the idea of indulgences, which involved members of the congregations paying priests and other leaders for abolition of their sins, effectively bribing church leaders for their own salvation. More than this, spiritual merit was attached to donations made to the church, and masses were able to be purchased for the dead. The University of Whittenberg held many sacred relics, including hairs said to have been from the Virgin Mary and the crown of thorns placed on Jesus head during crucifixion. Rather than cherishing these items for their religious worth, they were sold. 3 Because of these things, Martin Luther was raged with a fierce and agitated conscience . 4 After intense study, Luther followed the traditional method of protesting within the Catholic church he nailed his complaints to the Church door and invited them to meet with him. Because of his refusal to take back these complaints, and despite his intention to stay in the church, he was excommunicated in 1521.

Education, Age, and Party ID play a huge roll in political interest. Education of the political process can determine the interest of voters. Voters that are not informed of the political process are least likely to vote or keep in check with political campaigns or elections without a common ground understanding. The Age of voters also determines their political interest. At a younger age where voters aren t fully committed with an income or support and provide for themselves are more likely to not be affected with the policies and issues that are put into place by politicians. With not being affected by this they have less interest, but with the younger generation being the one commonly over using and blowing up social media, they are easily influenced by political advocate blogs, campaign advertising, in order to feel part of a group or wanting to be within the popular vote. The Globalization Of The International Space Station Kai Allen Donicht Globalization and International Business June 18 July 7 Arunjana Das 7/27/15 The Globalization of the International Space Station Abstract Space exploration was born out of the intense competition between the two great superpowers of the 20th century. The space race was a byproduct of the arms race between the United States and the Soviet Union. Both sides devoted immense resources and manpower to attempt to surpass the other in astronautical achievement. With the dissolution of the Soviet Union in December 1991, the approach towards space exploration changed dramatically. What began as a fierce competition between major powers became a partnership involving many nations working together. Space exploration projects, like the International Space Station, are only feasible through international joint effort, and because of this have helped to foster more cooperative relations between countries not only diplomatically, but also economically. Introduction In 1986, the USSR launched its space station Mir in orbit. NASA proposed to construct a permanently manned orbiting space station in response. The US began building the space station Freedom, working with Canada, several European countries, and Japan as partners in the endeavor. Just as work on Freedom began, however, the Soviet Union collapsed. This presented an opportunity for the US to work with Russia in space rather than compete with them. Freedom was reengineered into the new International

The theory was that the canned pineapple and the fresh pineapple would dissolve the jello, because they both have enzymes called bromelain that was supposed to dissolve the jello and at the time it was unknown that heat was applied to the canned pineapple. This concludes that the theory was disproved because the background information on enzymes shows that the enzyme functions can be stopped by using heat, which changes the structure of the amino acids making them unfold causing them to denature. Which is why the canned pineapple enzymes are inactive and cannot get the jello and break it down.
