I decided to choose the Unified Science Center at Stockton for my project because it
is easily accessible to me, it is fairly new and as a business major student, I found the
building to be very impressive. We business majors don t have a place to hang out or

in the hallway and if we have to do schoolwork we just go to a computer lab.

workforce of America, these incarcerated peoples should become proficient in the
reading and writing of the English language. This in turn will help reduce the tax
rates of the Federal Bureau of Prisons by lessening the amount of people imprisoned.
According to the article Educated Prisoners are Less Likely to Return to Prisonfound
in the Journal of Correctional Education, the prisoners who undergo an educational
program during their incarceration are far less likely to return than prisoners who
did not received any education during their confinement. In the state of Ohio, the
total rate of recidivism (an inmate s relapse back into criminal behavior after they
received sanctions or underwent an intervention for a previous crime) was 40 percent
while the prisoners who had completed an academic program during imprisonment
had an overall rate of 18 percent. When the recidivism rate is lowered, these
aforementioned correctional education programs produce hundreds of millions of

The year was 1989 it was the 4th of july and my father was having a great time with

Let the game begin Jared said and so it did. Immediately both teams ran to the
boundary where they would wait for someone to cross. This time is Danny to make
the same move as my dad did but Danny was to confident. The greatest thing for my
dad was that Danny was the one that my dad needed to get back at. So as Danny
sprinted up the hill to the deck where the flag was, my dad chased after him. When
Danny got into range my dad lit the firework taped onto his hand and let it go. The
firework flew out of his hand like a bullet out of a gun. My dad got what he wanted
and a lot more. The firework struck Danny right in the middle of his back. Not only
did it burn Danny s back it melted his shirt to it! Poor Danny just dropped to the
ground crying and bawling his eyes out. When they heard the crying the parents all
rush out of the house to see what was going on they say Danny laying on the
ground with his shirt melted to his back. They started yelling at my dad, especially
my Grandpa Blake who said some colorful things. My dad also started to cry
because only being ten and all he was still a little kid. Well at least one good thing
came out of it, Trent oblivious to what had just happened ran and grabbed the flag

Break of Day in the Trenches is by one of the First World War s leading war poets,
Isaac Rosenberg. Many often remember Rosenberg as a Jewish English poet, or a
poet of war, but there is more to his writing than what meets the eye. Rosenberg
died at the age of twenty eight in World War I on April 1, 1918. Critics often say that
Isaac was an impressive young poet and that his future was bright in the poetryworld.
It can be seen throughout his poems that Isaac incorporates a large amount of
symbolism and feeling into his pieces.
A primary focus for Rosenberg s poems is centered around the hardship and
struggle in war. For example, a few of his most famous poems including Dead Man
s Dump, On Receiving News of the War, Soldier: Twentieth Century and Break of
Day in the Trenches all incorporate the mentality of a soldier facing battle. It is easy
for an individual to talk about the thought of war and the struggle that a soldier
may face. Furthermore, Rosenberg wrote from his experience as a young man
going through such a horrific event, which allowed his readers to see what he saw,
feel what he felt, and undergo what he went through. He mastered this art form in
the early years of his life and shared his work with the world. In many cases, he
describes an object or occurrence and lets the description do most of the work.
Instead of using the rhyming schemes or more structural outlines of poetry, Isaac
approaches more of a free verse technique of writing in in his work. For example, in
