For the patients who do not pay for a certain period of time, the records of the patients with bad credit are sent to a collection agency. The collection agency is specialized for collecting the fee and enforcing relevant laws. In addition to the routine treatments, the hospital also provides emergency care. For an emergency care, patients do not need to make appointments. Emergency patients are seen by emergency specialized doctors, and later patients may be handed over to an appropriate doctor for further treatments. Background
You have just been brought in to manage a portfolio of several specialty clinics in a large multi-physician group practice in an academic medical center. The clinics reside in a multi-clinic facility that houses primary care and specialty practices as well as a satellite laboratory and radiology and pharmacy services. The practice provides the following centralized services for each of its clinics: registration, payer interface (e.g., authorization), and billing. The CEO of the practice has asked you to initially devote your attention to Clinic X to improve its efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Access Process
A primary care physician (or member of the office staff), patient, or family member calls the receptionist at Clinic X to request an appointment. If the receptionist is in the middle of helping a patient in person, the caller is asked to hold. The receptionist then asks the caller, “How may I help you?” If the caller is requesting an appointment within the next month, the appointment date and time is made and given verbally to the caller. If the caller asks additional questions, the receptionist provides answers. The caller is then given the toll-free preregistration phone number and asked to preregister before the date of the scheduled appointment. If the requested appointment is beyond a 30-day period, the caller’s name and address are put in a “future file” because physician availability is given only one month in advance. Every month, the receptionist reviews the future file and schedules an appointment for each person on the list, and a confirmation is automatically mailed to the caller.
When a patient preregisters, the financial office is automatically notified and performs the necessary insurance checks and authorizations for the appropriate insurance plan. If the patient does not preregister, when the patient arrives in the clinic on the day of the appointment and checks in with the specialty clinic receptionist, she is asked to first go to the central registration area to register. Any obvious problems with authorization are corrected before the patient returns to the specialty clinic waiting room.

Transitional Care is a moderate to long term facility that focuses on therapy, wound care, and medical
management of chronic diseases. Individuals within transitional care can range from low need or minimal
care to individuals who are total care patients need 24 hour nursing assistance. These facilities are often
known as Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing Facility or Subacute Rehab.
Patients who do not return home directly from the hospital are transferred to a lower level of care. Transi-
tional care can take place in many different types of health care settings, such as a skilled nursing facility,
long-term care facility, or subacute unit specializing in rehabilitation therapy, wound care, IV therapy, and/
or postacute cardiac care. There are various staff arrangements based on the focus of care, but gen-
erally there is a registered nurse (RN) in charge, who may only work the day shift with the assistance of
licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and a medical director who may
visit the facility daily (or 2-3 days per week) but who is on call for emergencies.
This specific transitional care unit consists of a 35-bed unit located within a 300-bed skilled nursing
facility and is generally close to the patient’s home. There are RNs (staff) on duty 24/7 with a physician
or nurse practitioner 7 days per week. The facility is a nonprofit, community-affiliated organization with a
community board of directors that oversees the operations of the facility. The facility has a strong history
of delivering quality services and high patient satisfaction. The facility is known for the implementation
of the latest electronic medical record (EMR) technology. It has a five-star rating from the Department of
Health and Commission on Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) with The Joint Commission Certification.
You have just been notified of a situation that has occurred in the facility. A patient was admitted to the
transitional care unit and was assessed by both nursing staff and physical therapy staff in order to de-
velop a plan of care for the patient to return home. It was initially anticipated that following IV therapy the
patient would be discharged home in 5 days (this is the standard stay, including the staffing ratios, in the

A primary care physician (or member of the office staff), patient, or family member calls the receptionist at Clinic X to request an appointment. If the receptionist is in the middle of helping a patient in person, the caller is asked to hold. The receptionist then asks the caller, “How may I help you?” If the caller is requesting an appointment within the next month, the appointment date and time is made and given verbally to the caller. If the caller asks additional questions, the receptionist provides answers. The caller is then given the toll-free preregistration phone number and asked to preregister before the date of the scheduled appointment. If the requested appointment is beyond a 30-day period, the caller’s name and address are put in a “future file” because physician availability is given only one month in advance. 1. Imperfect (or unisexual) flowers and monoecy.
The separation of the male sexual part (stamen) and the female part (pistil) into two separate
flowers eliminates intrafloral pollination and favors outcrossing. In monoecy (adj. monoecious),
or monoecism, both imperfect flowers are borne on the same plant.e.g. pumpkin and squash,
melons
2. Imperfect flowers and dioecy.
The natural occurence of individual plants bearing either staminate or pistillate flowers ensures
cross-pollination. This phenomenon is called dioecy (adj. dioecious). e.g. papaya
3. Dichogamy.
Opposite of homogamy, the stamen and the pistil mature at different periods. There are two
main types: protandry and protogyny.
In protandry, the stamens or anthers develop ahead and the pollen grains mature and are shed
before the pistils or the stigma become mature and receptive. Eg: Asteraceae
In protogyny, the pistils or stigma mature ahead of the stamens or anthers. e.g. Suaeda; Simpson
4. Chasmogamy.
Opposite of cleistogamy, pollen is shed, the stigma becomes receptive, and pollination occurs
when the flower opens The opening of the flower exposes the stigma to pollen from other
flowers.
5. Hercogamy (or herkogamy).
This is the spatial separation of the male (stamens) and female (stigma) sexual organs within a
flower. In one type of hercogamy called heterostyly, the heights of stigmas relative to the
stamens vary from flower to flower.
6. Self-sterility or self-incompatibility.
Self-sterility is the inability of a plant to form functional gametes or sexual structures while self-
incompatibility is a condition in which fertilization fails to occur between gametes from the same
individual. In both cases, self-pollination does not form a seed and thus seeds that are formed
necessarily arise from cross-pollination.

- 1. Hospital Management Project "Simple Scenario" We want to develop a comprehensive software product for XY Hospital, where several doctors are working together. There are several departments in the hospital, but a central administrationoffice is handling the patient appointment tasks. Most patients make an appointment before their visit. However, patients can walk in and can be treated if an appropriate doctor is available. On events, patients may change their visit schedule by calling. A patient who made an appointment but cannot appear should cancel his/her appointment in order to avoid a ‘no-show’ penalty. The appointment clerks in the administration office are handling all the appointments and the scheduling clerks generate ‘daily treatment schedules’ for doctors based on the appointment. The ‘daily treatment schedules’ include doctor’s name, patient’s information, nurses and treatment rooms for each treatment. Hence, doctors are seeing patients according to the daily treatment schedule. Once patients are treated by the doctors, the accounting office in the hospital is responsible for calculating the medical fee, mailing bills and receiving the payments. For the patients who do not pay for a certain period of time, the records of the patients with bad credit are sent to a collection agency. The collection agency is specialized for collecting the fee and enforcing relevant laws. In addition to the routine treatments, the hospital also provides emergency care. For an emergency care, patients do not need to make appointments. Emergency patients are seen by emergency specialized doctors, and later patients may be handed over to an appropriate doctor for further treatments. Solution 1.This project is related to a hospital management system.it maintains records of all the operationsthat occur at any of the medical center in public institutions.it maintains two level of users,administrator level and the user level.the administrator lever encompasses the nurses andthe doctors while the user level includes the receptionist. The administrators are able to perfomoperations on more sensitive and confidential documents /modules that contains differentinformation about students and staff to ensure confidentiality. The modules includelaboratory,treatment,consultation and medicine stock modules.The user level is able to manageother modules such as registration and report generation for stock of medicine and staff reports.To identify the current technology that is used to develop the registry system.To design and develop a database to contain details of the students,nurses,doctors and staff within the

Implement a system that will perform the tasks in the medical centre. 2.Central Administrative Office who are hanling patients oppointments, Appointment clerks, Collection Agency, Scheduling clerks. 3.The main functions of project are Patient appointments, Visit schedule by calling, cancel appointment, daily treatment schedules include doctor’s name, Patient’s information, Collection agency is specialized for collecting the fee and enforcing relevant laws, Emergency care. 4.Conditions/constrains that the project are there are several departments in the hospital, patients has to make an appointment before their visit, appointment clerks in the administration office have to handle all the appointments, scheduling clerks have to generate daily treatment schedules for doctors based on the appointment,doctors must have to see patients according to the daily treatment schedule, once patients are treated by the doctors, the accounting office in the hospital is responsible for calculating the medical fee, mailing bills and receiving the payments. The collection agency is specialized for collecting the fee and enforcing relevant laws. For an emergency care, patients do not need to make appointments. Emergency patients are seen by emergency specialized doctors, and later patients may be handed over to an appropriate doctor for further treatments.
