Women On The Front Line
Society has built a stereotype that says women are inherently weaker than men. This has limited
women s chances to get ahead, but people are not standing idly by instead they are pushing for
women to get equal opportunity. Some of these advancements are that women now have the right
to vote, to own their property, and get jobs. However, not all jobs are available to women such as
combat positions in the military. Combat positions or chances on the front line are unavailable to
women because they are depicted as fragile and in need of protection. Women deserve the
opportunity to try to gain their placement on the front line because women can be just as strong as
men and they are willing to fight. The military is denying women the opportunity

Literature Review On Achilles Tendon
2.Literature review (on individual 4 5 pages) 2.1 Basic anatomy 2.1.1 Anatomy of Achilles tendon
The Achilles tendon is the thickest and strongest tendon in human body. It connects with the
gastrocnemius muscle proximally in the mid calf. It inserts in calcaneus in complicated manner.
There is an osteotendinous junction between Achilles tendon and calcaneum with a sesamoid
fibrocartilage above the junction. Other nearby structure includes a layer of periosteal
fibrocartilage covering the tuberosity of calcaneum and pre calcaneal fat pad. The fat pad stabilizes
the Achilles tendon proximally by the fibrous connection [1 3]. Within two layers of fibrocartilage,
a retrocalcaneal bursa presents to reduce friction. The calcaneal insertion of the Achilles tendon is
called enthesis organ and its function is to ensure an even distribution of pressure from the tendon

Although it is most prevailing in male who is between 35 to 45 years old, everyone could be
impinged by the disease regardless of age and gender [10]. Some sports such as running and
jumping require the Achilles tendon to stretch and shorten in a short period of time may induce
overuse of the tendon and tendinopathy eventually. The onset of the Achilles tendinopathy might
be chartacterized by the swelling and pain of the ankle joint. The pain can occur from the
calcaneal insertion of Achilles tendon to 5 centimeters proximally. It is usually worse after and
during physical activities especially running. Although the pain would decrease after rest, it cannot
be resolved totally. If the pathology is untreated, the swelling and pain would deteriorate. The
patient could feel a thickened a tendon and see soft tissue swelling. Besides, the pain will become
chronic and appear during daily activities like walking [11]. After quite some time, the health and
quality of life would

Problem Statement On Hallucinations
perception. People who have this psychological disorder believe that something has happened even
without happening really. This is distinguishable from dreams as dreams are something that occur
when we are in sleep. But during hallucinations, we are perfectly awake. It is a kind of illusion
that has been created which forces the brain to believe something even if it hasn t happened at all.
Hallucinations can occur in any sensory modality visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile etc. People who
are suffering from Hallucination see, smell, perceive, hear, feel some things which don t even exist.
This paper is focussed on Auditory Hallucinations.

Hearing voices and seeing things are viewed as a sign of mental illness, when in reality they are not
as uncommon as many initially assume. The word hallucination in itself has a generally negative
connotation, conjuring images of mental hospitals and schizophrenics. This paper discusses about
the causes ,types of hallucinations and also various changes that occur in our brain during
hallucinations and is finally concluded by treatments used to cure this disorder.
Symptoms :
There might be many symptoms internal which can not be detected prior. Some of the symptoms
which might lead to Hallucinations are Parkinson s disease, depression, psychosis, and epilepsy

Some others are Confusions, Alterations in consciousness, Fidgeting, Rambling speech, Hearing

An Interdisciplinary Degree With The Cognates Of...
I made a choice to pursue an interdisciplinary degree with the cognates of leadership and teaching.
My career choice is aimed at obtaining appropriate knowledge as a teacher and the desired skills
in leading people. However, while the cognate seems much different from what most people would
consider, being a professional teacher and a leader who gets in touch with young people, men, and
women are important in developing my Gospel ministry.
As a teacher who often interacts with students, some of whom have never had the opportunity to
be managed or, it is, therefore, easy for me to integrate Gospel ministry and my professional duty.
Teaching would give me the advantage of reaching a majority of people, enabling me to share the

Secondly, my study leadership option gives me the advantage of leading all the people who I
encounter in my career. When asked, I will develop the Gospel ministry while serving as a
teacher. The answer is simple: development of the ministry is based on meeting new people who
might not have heard the Gospel just like I meet several new souls almost every day, while
grocery shopping. Teaching skills that I acquire will enable me to minister the Gospel
successfully. My interdisciplinary degree is, therefore, important in developing my ministry.
Leaders and leadership entail many temptations. It is often believed that leaders are not holy and
are far from practicing ethics in their respective duties. Leadership is considered to be bound by
corruption, but from a biblical perspective, Deborah was a leader and a judge who was trusted.
The Bible notes that Deborah carried out her duties both as a prophet and judge. It is clearly
indicated that she exercised complete religious and political leadership while leading the people of
Israel.
At the same time, Deborah also practiced judicial duties and militaristic leadership upon the
individuals she was in charge. Deborah became the most important person amongst the Israelites.
She became Israel s commander in chief. The Bible notes that she was said to issue to issue her
judgments and ruling under a palm in the hills of Ephraim.

Cookmaid With Still Life Of Vegetables And Fruit
Fashion is a platform in which one can represent themselves. People are often characterized and
assessed based on what they wear and how they present their body to the world. This notion of
clothing not just being for function but also for expression dates back long before the modern
age. In the early seventeenth century, for example, an artists portrayal of apparel was used as a
symbol of wealth and status. The paintings Cookmaid with Still Life of Vegetables and Fruit
(Figure One), Probably Mary Lady Scudamore (Figure Two), and Dudley, the 3rd Baron North
(Figure Three) all depict people of different prosperity and backgrounds. The three subjects in the
paintings don distinctively different attire. In this essay, I will consider how... Show more content on

The subject of the portrait, Dudley North, is pictured wearing a knee length rich black garment
fully embroidered in silver thread, paired with an extravagant set of shoes. He also dons a white
collar and cufflinks made of lace, paralleling those depicted in the portrait of Lady Scudamore.
The color and materiality of the attire convey the elite status of Dudley. The subject of the
painting was a principle courtier of James I, a role that placed him in the heart of clothing. The
court members developed into models for the noble style of dress, with royalty spending
thousands of pounds annually for their wardrobe. In the modern world, fashion is predominately a
female dominated industry. However, in the early seventeenth century, the dress of men was of
greater importance than that of woman, as aristocratic woman often lived privatized lives whereas
men were more exposed to society. The fit of the male outfit also held a high significance, just as it
did for the female. In the portrait, Dudley s waist is highlighted through the tight tailoring of the
costume, and is enhanced by the belt that clasps his sword. The male representation of fashion was
a symbol of aristocracy in seventeenth century England and was used in portraiture in order to
express one s wealth, as seen through the painting of Dudley

The European Court Of Justice
Introduction Although the European Court of Justice (ECJ) continues to insist that national
procedural autonomy remains a key consideration, its case law shows that this principle has
enjoyed a varying amount of deference through the decades. Although the principle of equivalence
is tolerably clear, setting out clear requirements that can be easily fulfilled by national legal orders,
effectiveness has had a much more chequered history. Francovich also represents a further
incursion on the procedural autonomy of Member States. This essay will argue that the ECJ s
shifting attitudes over the years ranging from relative deference to activism ultimately spring from
non legal considerations, particularly political necessity and a desire to preserve the EC s core
competencies; such political considerations also explain why there has never been generally
applicable legislation that harmonises national remedies. Starting point: national procedural
autonomy? It is true that the ECJ has outlined the importance of national procedural autonomy in
its judgments over the years. In Comet, it held that it was for each Member State s national legal
order to lay down the procedural rules for proceedings designed to ensure the protection of [EU]
rights . Three decades later, this exhortation was repeated in Unibet, where the Court thought the
EC Treaty was not intended to create new remedies in the national law... other than those already
laid down by national law . National

The TriggerPoint GRID Foam Roller uses marketing mix techniques to successfully make the
product profitable for TriggerPoint the company. The product is a foam roller to help with
preventative care for people that are active with healthy life styles or need to improve their
mobility. This product is unfamiliar to me because I recently had back and knee issues, which I
started looking into trigger point exercises to help with mobility. The company TriggerPoint has
several products that help with care prevention, including: Massage products, foot rollers,
instructional books on trigger points, and other informational DVDs and text to help assist with the
products they sell. The TriggerPoint company uses their commercials to inform, educate, and
advertise their product to aim toward people that care about their health or need to improve their
health. TriggerPoint GRID Foam Roller uses many different marketing mixes such as segmenting,
targeting, positioning, place, price, and does not even need to promote to be a successful product
for the company and provide consumers with a product they need. Many people have become more
active during this time on earth then in the past, especially when it comes to fitness, health, and
ways to get mobility back from non preventative care. This product is segmented toward active

The Development Of Dynamic Characterization In Anthem By...
Evolution is a development of something that gradually changes them from one simple item into a
more developed, complex form. Everything in life changes; change is constant and inevitable. One,
who evolves, chooses to do it for better or for worse. In literature, a character s evolution is seen
through a term called dynamic characterization. Dynamic Characterization is clearly visible in the
novel Anthem by Ayn Rand
. In this dystopian fiction book, mankind has entered a period of
darkness regarding the government and society; a society where your job, mating partner, and
mindset has been chosen for you, and a government where individuality is forbidden. Living
amongst this dark period in time is Equality 7 2521. In Anthem, Equality is a dynamic character
through his important character traits. More specifically, Equality finds starting a movement,
using we to I , and finally finds individuality which creates his round character traits. One of the
most riveting moments in this novel, was discovery made by Equality. This society takes place in
an unknown date far in the future, where an individual was raised to call themselves we in honor
of their brothers in society. Any first person pronoun was unknown to this society because it was
seen as selfish to have an ego. Equality however, was different from the rest of his brothers. He
was the pariah in a crowd, both literally and mentally. As a six feet tall individual that was much
stronger than the rest, Equality loved

Greed In The Wolf Of Wall Street
Wall Street is known for its shady practices and greed, but no movie has portrayed the rewards of
such greed better than Martin Scorsese s The Wolf of Wall Street. The trailer alone creates an
exciting world of money and sex with its fast paced, aggressive soundtrack and Jordan Belfort
(Leonardo DiCaprio) complaining about his $49 million dollar profits. However exciting this
world may seem, Scorsese fails to condemn the greed of Jordan Belfort by glorifying the money,
drugs, and women while not fully conveying the immorality and consequences of his actions.
The glorification of money is prevalent throughout The Wolf of Wall Street
, even when it is the root
of Jordan s problems. The opening scene features Jordan narrating the wonderful things ... Show

The breakup between Jordan and his first wife is a minor scene that only serves as an
introduction to Naomi, not an emotional look at what Jordan s lust has caused. The Wolf of
Wall Street is missing one scene that could have perfectly conveyed the immorality and
consequences of his actions. This scene would be one that shows the effect of his malpractice to
his clients the naive, middle class people that were tricked and lied to in order to make a profit.
If the film included a scene where a plumber and his family couldn t pay the bills and were being
evicted as a result of Jordan s actions, the audience would have felt the true repercussions of his
crimes and would turn against Jordan because he acted

Timex Case Anaylsis
Time as an Industry
Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. For years this is the image that has been associated with
Timex watches dependable, reliable, almost indestructible. Timex s (www.timex.com) advertising
was closely associated with the Timex image. The advertising campaign featured different attempts
to destroy Timex watches that failed to stop the Timex from ticking. One memorable ad showed a
Timex watch strapped to the propeller of a motor boat before being driven across the lake. The
dripping watch was proudly displayed as the second hand swept past the face of the watch.

Additionally, Timex made a major change in its advertisingstrategy. Watch companies traditionally
focused their advertising campaigns in the spring and fall. In what industry executives called a first,
Timex began advertising continuously throughout the year. As a result, in 1993 Timex unit sales
rose about 30 percent, with more than half the increase attributed to Indiglo.
Given its success, it is not surprising that Timex continued to put almost its entire advertising
budget into campaigns for Indiglo in 1994. And the Indiglo is HOT. Timex was fortunate enough to
get some impressive testimonials from customers who rolled in along with sales. These stories
provided some fascinating material for potential ad campaigns. Consider the following:
* A man led a group of people down 34 unlit flights of stairs in the bombed World Trade Center in
New York City by the light of an Indiglo. * A Los Angeles couple lit their way to safety after an
earthquake with an Indiglo watch. * Four people clung to a capsized fishing boat overnight,
comforted by the reassuring blue beam of a Timex lndiglo.
The Indiglo technology is making ho hum Timex kind of hip . In fact, earlier attempts to upscale
the product line and develop more fashionable products were hampered by perceptions that the
products have got a $12.95 name on them.
Currently, Timex has 20 to 30 watch styles with

Cubism And Expressionism In The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari

Both movies have artistic elements taken from the Expressionism movement. Its grotesque
cinematic aspects and exaggerated makeup, costume, characters, and background settings display a
similar impression of the film, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Although this movie is not my cup of
tea, I did appreciate the director s effort in perfectly illustrating Expressionism in a motion

emotion of a character through a narrative and this film has addressed it well. I personally was
stultified halfway through the film because I don t like watching horror or gothic genre but
audiences with a taste of suspense and thrill would lean towards it more. However, it was a great

Aspects Of Arctic Sovereignty
Environmental Aspects of Arctic Sovereignty 1.Introduction The Arctic has the world s largest
unused source of oil and it is getting international attention because of its extremely value resources
(Crawford, Hanson Runnalls, 2008). According to Digman (2011) the Arctic s commercial interest
mostly rely on drilling, mining and transportation development. However, Arctic s development not
only will lead to economical profits but also will bring international conflicts. Due to this, a
Sovereignty by the five Arctic s coastal countries such as Canada, Denmark, Norway, Russia and
United States is essential. Moreover, Arctic s climate change is happening right now due to human
induced factors (Isted, 2009) and Arctic s development will lead to environmental damage
(Johnston, 2012). The effects of this combination will have significant global consequences and
could end in an environmental catastrophe (Crawford et al., 2008). The purpose of this report is to

Fidel Castro And The Cuban Revolution
In 1959 Fidel Castro attempted to overthrow dictator Fulgencio Batista; Castro led a revolutionary
movement in a guerrilla war against Batista s forces. As anti Batista sentiment grew, Castro took a
leading role in the Cuban Revolution which eventually ousted the president. (Stevenson 118)Once
in power, Castro nationalized American property and because of this the United States diplomatic
relations with Cubawere cut in 1961. Even prior to the break in relations, President Eisenhower
agreed to a CIA backed plan to overthrow Fidel Castro. When John F. Kennedy was elected, he
was informed of the CIA s plan. The newly elected president, unfortunately approved of the plan to
attempt an uprising in Cuba against Fidel Castro. Before the Bay of Pigs invasionwas developed;
the United States tentatively backed Castro, in hopes of keeping a good relationship with Cuba.
During the short lived time of alliance, Castro even visited the United States. President Eisenhower
refused to even meet Castro, instead he played a round of golf so not to see him at all. Before
departing for Cuba, Castro met with Vice President Richard Nixon. Privately, Nixon hoped that his
talk would push Castro in the right direction, and away from any radical policies. Nixon concluded
that Castro was either incredibly naive about communism or under communist discipline my guess
is the former. (history.com) Unfortunately, events involving Castro never again occurred in the
United States ever since. The

Establishing a Home Network

of the users in your household as well as backup options and how we will connect to the network
and the security of your network. I will be looking at developing such a network for my home
using the given budget of $1,000 and explain why my choices will meet my networking needs as
well as looking to see what changes could be made over time if given a larger budget to work with.

This cloud option allows me to have similar functionality to what online storage options would
provide; I can backup files from all of my computers and also have access to do so from my mobile
devices. My Cloud has incredibly fast upload speeds and is highly rated for its industry leading
password protection and encryption. Having 2TB of space available for storage on the cloud would
allow for sufficient file storage of all four users currently as well as allow for the eventual growth of
the network as well.
Expanding the network
Assuming that I was given an additional $1,000 to my budget to expand the network I would
look to move past the basic setup I have established for four users to have access to the network
and the file sharing/backup system I have established. I would begin expanding memory to
improve performance and would move to start including game consoles, Smart TVs, Blu Ray
players, smart phones and tablets. There are a myriad of options that are available to include in my
home network in this age of technology. The possibilities are truly limitless at this point, with new
devices and new technologies becoming available every single day.
Conclusion
This network has a solid start and has the essential components of any network which are the
computers, the router, and available storage as well as security. Truthfully, once you have these
basics in place you have solid building blocks ready to begin expanding and enhancing to create the

leading to conflicts. Access to and the use of these natural resources plays an important role in
many conflicts.
Touch Siphat in (2009) attempts to understand the impact of economic land concessions for agro
industrial production promoted by government. This promotion heavily impacts on the locals
livelihoods and obstructs decentralized natural resources management, especially in natural forest
resources. They also examined locals response to such a development scheme. The study found that
in regard to economic growth , the state has very strong control over natural resources and people.
Further, as a post war nation, the state commits to developing its economy by gathering
involvement from different stakeholders, including international donors, development agencies,
NGOs, and local people in the development process. Yet privatization of natural resources such as
land, forestry, mining and so forth can be also found in the country in favor of a globalizing
economy. In terms of economic liberalization, Cambodia has been integrated into the regional and

Firewalls will be placed between the web servers and the outer edge of the network, facing the
Internet. Such a configuration, called a demilitarized zone (DMZ), will provide an additional
layer of defense from a network breach. If the web servers are compromised, there will be an
additional barrier between them and the intranet. The firewalls will be configured to deny
everything, and then the ports that are needed for the functioning of the network will be

In certain religions and cultures, cancer is considered taboo and unspoken of, but spirituality is an
important component that serves as a bridge between the religion/culture and cancer. Spirituality is
an important addition to cultural considerations to curating a successive EOLC plan for children
with cancer. The concept of spirituality can be defined as how an individual seeks and expresses
meaning and purpose (Foster et al., 2010). It also involves how they connect to the moment, self,
others, and the sacred (Foster et al., 2010). Spiritual care is important because it can foster an
environment where children and their families can continue to grow even through the illness
experience. Spirituality is often neglected and overlooked by physicians who focus mainly on
eliminating visible symptoms. While health care providers may not necessarily see the benefits of
attending to the spirituality of a cancer patient, spiritual care and EOLC can help make life more
meaningful for the individual. In this population (children with cancer), it is especially important to
involve the patient, this translates to actively asking and listening patient about their values and
feelings. The expression of spirituality is an important developmental milestone in children, because
it centers on the child s understanding of life and death

Essay on The Hours by Michael Cunningham
In his novel The Hours, Michael Cunningham creates a dazzling fabric of queer references
managing to intertwine the lives of three different women into one smooth narrative. In this essay,
I will discuss what makes The Hours queer literature, how the novel has contributed to the queer
genre, the cultural significance of the novel, and I will discuss several points made in Jeanette
McVicker s critical article Gaps and Absences in The Hours. My aim, however, is not to say that
Michael Cunningham s The Hours is strictly a queer novel, but to highlight what makes the novel
queer and to discuss Cunningham s idea of sexual orientationas a fluid entity. To begin my analysis

It is considerably easier to identify the queerness of the novel s characters and author than its
political purpose. Michael Cunningham, the novel s author, is a gay male and openly
acknowledges that his sexual orientation influences his work as can be seen by the fact that many
of his novels involve gay characters and gay experiences. In particular, The Hours features three
women who each have same sex experiences Virginia Woolf
, Laura Brown, and Clarissa Vaughn.
Virginia Woolf is a married woman who had public affairs with women and who shares a chaste
kiss with her sister during her narrative. Woolf is also the author of Mrs. Dalloway, a novel that
centers on Clarissa Dalloway, a woman who feels the same way as men feel (Woolf 36) about
women, yet marries a man as society dictates.
Laura Brown is also a married woman, like both Woolf and Dalloway, but rather than having
affairs with women, she, like Clarissa Dalloway, feels bound by her role in society and is greatly
unhappy with her situation. For a brief moment, she breaks away from her heteronormative life
and seems to truly desire to break free from the gender roles forced upon her while sharing a kiss
with her neighbor s wife, Kitty.
The question has been silently asked and silently answered, it seems. They are both afflicted and

The Conservation Of Wildlife Conservation
Planet Earth is home to millions of species with different forms of life. Due to habitat loss and
destruction, hunting, climate change, agriculture, pollution, and deforestation, many animal and
plant species have been decreasing significantly. Wildlife conservation, management plans, and
acts have been passed in order to help preserve the diverse wildlife habitat An example of wildlife
conservation is the Cosumnes River Preserve which is the largest river in central California with
natural and unregulated stream flows. It consists of approximately 45,859 acres of wildlife habitat
and agricultural lands such as rivers, wetlands, floodplains, savannah, farmland, and forest. With a
diverse habitat, the Cosumes River Preserve was established as a reconciled ecosystem in order to
maintain new habitats to conserve speciesdiversity and to protect and restore Central Valley
Wetlands, however improvements can be made in order to prevent threats.
When people invaded California in the nineteenth century, freshwater seasonal marshland in the
Central Valley has declined by over 95% from its original acreage. The Cosumnes River Preserve
was first established as a project in 1987 as The Natural Conservancy (TNC) which was an
international organization that supports conserving habitats and managing these areas in order to
allow native species to thrive. The goal of this project was to encourage wildlife, practice
sustainable farming techniques, build a positive relationship with local

The Ford And His Creation Of The First Mainstream Car
In this work we look at the past of the motor vehicle. We recognize Henry Ford and his creation
of the first mainstream car. We praise his pricing strategy used to make this car a household
product. We dig to find out which manufacturer brought us the conventional car control layout.
Then we jump ahead to our modern age of cars and look at the ways engineers are finding ways
to replace mechanical systems with electric ones. We then delve into the world of alternative
power methods, primarily the hybrid, hydrogen, and electric options. Lastly we touch base on the
enthusiasts concern that the car scene is dying. For many people cars are just ways of
transportation, a tool to get them from point A to point B. To others they are a way... Show more

Being priced this economically took cars from being toys owned by the more fortunate to tools
for the everyday middle class. Many have gone as far as giving Henry Ford credit for allowing
people to leave their immediate surroundings. The Model T was sold until 1927, ending its run at
an astounding 15 million units sold (Automobiles).
Many would assume then that a car that sold as well as the Model T must have the same layout
as our modern vehicles, but quite the contrary can be found. Top Gear reports that the first motor
vehicle to have a modern layout, with the steering wheel in front of the driver, the gas on the
right, the brake in the center, and the clutch on the left was the Cadillac Type 53 (Top Gear). The
Type 53 had a short run at only one year, but the ideas its engineers presented to the world forever
changed the motor industry. However, this was done not through the sales of the Type 53, as it was
always overshadowed by the Model T and never gained popularity. The layout we have become
accustomed to was noticed by a British company: Austin Motors. Austin took this layout and based
their well selling Austin 7 around it. The Austin 7 then was the first mainstream automobilewith a
modern layout.
The auto market continued to grow at a rapid pace after this. It progressed to the point where at
one time at least one in six jobs were auto related. However, as

Dionysian Influence In Gwen Stefani s Rich Girl
I chose to analyze Rich Girl performed by Gwen Stefani. She is one of my favorite singer. Her
rebellion temper and colorful style is capturing along with her outstanding voice. Stefani was
born (1969) in Fullerton, California and begun her musical carrier at age 17 (Billboard,.2017). I
would consider Stefani a performer with Dionysian influence. Her music has always been
passionate and reflecting her life experiences and views on current issues. Stefani s life could be
described as a rollocoster, ups and downs that provide plenty of inspiration for her music. The
song Rich Girl from the Love. Angel. Music. Baby. Music album, performed by Gwen Stefani

Bearded Hercules
Throughout history, many civilizations have risen and fallen carrying along with them their
perspectives and beliefs manifested in works of art. All civilizations have erected monuments to not
only prove they existed, but because they believed they would remain permanently. The Ancient
Greeks were no different, portraying their ideal standards of beauty and proportion into their
sculptures. Their ideal perception of adulation represented the highest form of perfection,
comparable to the infinite impeccability of their gods and goddesses ( ). Evidently, the Ancient
Greeksideals served as a prerequisite that transcended into the ideals of their successors, the Ancient
Romans. The Marble Statue of a Bearded Hercules exemplifies the emergence of unique Roman
standards intertwined with the praised idealism of the Ancient Greeks.
The Romans were heavily influenced by the Greeks, as Greek art was engrossed by the Romans
resulting in the development of new standards of beauty and proportion, from creating numerous
copies of Greek sculptures. The Marble Statue of a Bearded Hercules, dating back to 68 98 A.D., is

Chapman s article explains the truth behind coerced false confessions, which involves suspects
admitting to a crime they did not commit. With true examples and specific explanations and
descriptions, Chapman shows just how suspects feel their only option is a fabricated confession.
Through interrogations, police can involve threats, manipulation, persuasion, and several other
methods to make a person confess. Factors such as stress and fear can also cause suspects to
confess. In some cases, innocent suspects even come to believe they are guilty due to incorrect
interrogation methods. This article is not all about police forcing people to confess though, it also
explains how police are put under a tremendous amount of pressure to get a confession out of

Star Wars Effects
One of the reasons creating Star Wars was so hard was because of the technology available, or
lack thereof. Even Lucas said, There was no special effects companies in those days and the
studios special effects department had been disbanded. Part of the was because of the expense,
and part of it was that the American taste, the culture had gone toward very realistic looking
films. (Empire of Dreams) But Lucas was determined and In many cases, the equipment and
techniques to realize what Lucas envisioned did not exist yet; they would have to be invented.
(Clark 43) So in 1975, Lucas created a visual effects company and hired John Dykstra, a talented
special effects artist, to head the company which he named ILM, or Industrial Light Magic. ILM

the industry. One of the things they created was called the Dystraflex, The world s first digital
computer controlled camera system, it was capable of precise and repeatable movement, giving the
filmmakers far more control in, among other areas, their work with miniatures. (Elhefnawy 52) Or,

examples the importance of recognizing and responding to concerns about children and young
people s development. It is essential that anyone working with children can identify if a child is
having problems and might need extra support, this can be achieved through careful observation in
the classroom and playground. If, a teaching assistant or adult in school, were to have any concerns
about a particular child they should initially go to the class teacher and share their thoughts but it is
important that they maintain as much confidentiality as possible and would need to find an
appropriate time to discuss this. This should then be brought up with the pupil s parents in a
sensitive way and at an appropriate time, e.g. parent s evening. Assessment Task TDA 2.1 Child and

The Tyger Religion
The Lamb and The Tyger Religion had a powerful influence on William Blake during the

nature. He placed his voice through the words of his poems. In The Lamb he displays the teachings
of Christianity. William Blakestrives for the reader to embrace the Creator outlooks of innocence

underling why God created the beautiful lamb and the ferocious tyger. He wanted people to
know that the world is filled with tranquility and disturbance. God himself wants people to

Although, nature acts as a warrior. Nature quickly placed on its armor to attack the dangerous

man himself on Earth is not aware of what the tyger can do. The purpose of the tyger is to be our
weapon to destroy injustice and cruel activities in the world. The tyger is our inner strength to
ward off evil. God himself is the tyger because he is the one that helps his devotees in the time of
hardships. He does not let his devotees suffer or be faced with degradation.William Blake depicted

Analysis Of The Lost Colony Of Roanoke
The colony of Roanoke is generally known as England s first attempt to begin a civilized and
stable colony in the unexplored parts of earth known as the New World. Sadly, the plan to
colonize Roanoke Island didn t go exactly as the British planned. The colonists had high hopes to
find new things to take back to England to make profit off of and be the first to obtain life in the
New World. Things started off well for the new colony, but the colonists began to have issues
with the new people they had discovered on the island known as the Croatan and Secotan Indian

colony of Roanoke failed to exist when John White returned to the colony in 1590 and found not
a single soul on the island. No one to this day is quite sure what happened to the remaining

that had once lived there. The article I selected, America s Lost Colony: Can New Dig Solve

Teaching Is The Easiest Job
Teaching is one of the most well known careers known to man; it has existed for centuries and
probably has existed since the beginning of humanity. Thus, many may think it is very simple
to get in front of a group (class) and lecture about a certain topic. When in actuality it is not, it is
very complicated having to get up in front of a class especially if you re a shy person not used to
the concept of talking in front of a large group of people; I have faced a similar challenge, and
steadily overcoming the fears associated with teaching.
Over the summer I worked with students at a local school called Hanley International Academy, I
taught ladies that were older than me, and are ESL; I honestly thought it was the easiest job ever
prior to starting. However, I started to understand that teaching needs time and explaining within the
time I worked I took everything serious. Before beginning any teaching, I had to assist each student
s ability to understand English. Then, I started off with very simple assignments. When teaching
ESL students the first step is to explain what the alphabet, how much are letters are in the alphabets,
and how to use them. Then you have to teach them how to write them when they have understood
how to read and write then you must move on to the next concept. That doesn t mean to forget
about it completely. Next, you say the alphabets and let them read after you until they have
pronounced it perfectly. Then start with the next step I made

in American society during this time period. The cast was composed of fifteen actors, in which
some of the actors performed multiple characters such as Ayla Sullivan who portrayed Daisy and

when the ensemble delivered their lines together loudly and articulately. The choreography was also
synchronized and intricately placed to symbolize how a machine functions and reinforce this idea
of a mechanized, industrial society that has robbed each worker of their humanity, more explicitly
their individualistic personalities. Although there were several characters present, the absence of
individualism was further depicted through the sequenced names of Zero, One, Two Three, Four,

The Running Record of Oral reading is series of assessments administered over a number of weeks

while the student reads the selected text. It is scored when the number of correctly read words is

Pursuing A Career In School Psychology
The authors begin chapter three by explaining that there are commonly discrepancies among raters
and their ratings of child behavior. Moreover, these differences stem from the different
perceptions of the parents, teachers, children, and even the school psychologist. The differences
can also be attributed to the differences in the child s behavior across contexts. This information
is important to acknowledge and understand for many reasons. We are different. What a parent
might constitute as a poor behavior, might be seen as an acceptable behavior by the teacher. It all
goes back to culture and what each person truly believes to be important and/or meaningful. This
also made me think of other courses that we have taken where we were required to observe a child,
as well as operationally define a target behavior. The operational definition of the behavior helps to
ensure that anyone can observe the same behavior without confusion.... Show more content on

The Importance Of Arts Integration
Arts Integration
The Arts are an important part of education. It allows students to express themselves and enriches
their learning experience. By integrating the arts into everyday education it makes school a place
students look forward to coming to. They can get excited about assignments and events that involve
the arts. Not only does the integration of arts fun for students but also but also helps meet the needs
of many learning styles.
A sense of community is formed among students when arts integration is involver. This is because
there are many opportunities for students to collaborate. While working together on projects,
students will encourage in intense social interaction (Crawford 2004).
Studies have found that when arts integration is implemented in the classroom, students are
affected positively academically and cognitively. Academic outcomes are the achievements students
make in the core academic subjects, including the arts. When literacy and language development
has drama integrated into the lessons, research has found that it helps students with reading and
writing by increasing and refining oral language skills and story understanding. The positive impact
of arts integrated instruction on literacy development is especially strong for English language
learners at the elementary and middle school levels (Anon 2017). Research has also found that
math skills are improved when connections between art study are drawn. Music and dance have

How Did John Locke Influence The American Revolution

John Locke John Locke is a well known enlightenment philosopher. He is known for writing Two
Treatises of Civil Government and Thomas Jefferson is known for using his ideas in the
Declaration of Independence. His Treatises heavily influenced the United States and numerous
other republics (A republic is a form of government in which power is held by the people and their
elected representatives instead of a monarch) to form. The United States of America and its allies
(who are mostly republics) are the strongest countries on Earth and all of them are heavily
influenced by his ideas. The Enlightenment was a time during the 18th century that stressed the
belief that science and logic give people more knowledge and understanding than tradition and
religion. [2] In essence it was a time of self government and logical reasoning instead of relying on
religion and the Roman Catholic Church. These ideas caused much turmoil and revolutions in many

War between Charles I and the Parliamentary forces occurred. It was probably at this point in his
life that he rejected the concept of a king s divine right to rule. John Locke was a highly
educated man. He went to Westminster school when he was a young boy. [1] He later went to
Christ Church which is a subdivision of the University of Oxford. [1] [4] He later went onto be a
member of the Royal Society and censor in Christ Church. [1] [4] He was influenced by Boyle s
Mechanical Philosophy and Sir Isaac Newton. [1] His ideas were widely respected, so much in fact
that George Washington, the first President of the United States, said that Locke was The
greatest man who ever lived . [4] He died at the old age of 72. His death in Essex on October 28,
1704 was a blow to the world and the

Children Of The Fundamentalist Church Of Jesus Christ Of...
I might have finally figured out why I experienced such mixed feelings while watching on
television the authorities take into protective custody 416 or so children of the Fundamentalist
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who lived on the Yearning for Zion ranch in west
Texas. Once again, we may have done more harm than good by treating a chronic problem as
though it were an acute crisis.
Not everyone agrees that polygamy is a problem. University of Chicago economist and Nobel
laureate Gary S. Benson commented on this issue in 2006. In the United States and similar nations,
he wrote:
Women choose their partners, and refuse to marry men who [sic] they do not want to marry,
regardless of their parents feelings or the ardor of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea is that these tendencies are not perplexing happenstances; they are built into the very
dynamics of polygamous unions.
The more wives a man has the less power they have. A home with, let s say, six wives and twenty
four children, is likely to function more like a monarchy than a democracy in order to prevent
unworkable chaos. Even an oligarchy is likely to need a very strong Enforcer, and almost always
this will be the man. Polygamy is almost impossible without extreme patriarchy.
But this is only one part of the equation. Another is that husbands and wives in monogamous
unions often foster more desirable behavior in their spouses by providing all kinds of positive and
negative inducements. But a patriarch in a polygamous union rarely has to cope with such
frustrating complexities. If one wife is upset about something, instead trying to understand and
correct what is troubling her, he can easily turn to another. This robs all the wives of much power.
They would do well to join forces and engage in collective bargaining; but apparently this rarely
happens. Extreme patriarchy easily becomes tyranny against women.
Many say that polygamous households are especially dangerous places for children. Although their
mothers appear to take excellent care of them when they are young, their vulnerability often spikes
once the girls become sexual targets and the

Abstract: A hybrid generation is a part of large power system in which number of sources usually
attached to a power electronic converter and loads are clustered can operate independent of the
main power system. The protection scheme is crucial against faults based on traditional over
current protection since there are adequate problems due to fault currents in the mode of operation.
This paper adopts a new approach for detection, discrimination of the faults for multi terminal
transmission line protection in presence of hybrid generation. Transient current based protection
scheme is developed with discrete wavelet transform. Fault indices of all phase currents at all
terminals are obtained by analyzing the detail coefficients of current signals using bior 1.5 mother
wavelet. This scheme is tested for different types of faults and is found effective for detection and
discrimination of fault with various fault inception angle and fault impedance.
Keywords: Multi terminal transmission System, Wavelets, Hybrid energysources.

Biological Theories Of Crime Essay
Critically examine research into biological and psychological theories of crime.
It is apparent that still in today s society s it is exemplified that despite the guidelines of social
norms, boundaries and laws on how people act should accordingly, certain aspects of criminal
deviant behaviour continue to stay. Although some researcher s characteristic human aggression to
human nature as part of a natural innate instinct which they have no control other, that can make
one prone to deviant behaviour, while the others are more likely to commit crimes. While others
tend to look at other factors which all amount to crime and deviant behaviour. This essay aims to
look at in depth at how biological and physiological theories explain crime.
According to biological theories of crime, deviant behaviour is an innate thing. It assumes that some

All the theories are based on the idea that biological markers foreordain deviant behaviour. The
base of all these theories is that genetic factors or any abnormalities that are inherited or acquired
throughout life, predispose individuals to the criminal behaviour. Initially it was claimed by
Lombroso s (1876) that people were prone to participate in deviant behaviour and that these
specific people all displayed physiognomic features or abnormalities. He suggested that all
criminals shared common facial features for example; asymmetry of one s face, the shape of their
skulls, big ears eyes and lips and a twisted nose (SimplyPyschology, 2016). Although Lombroso s
theory was deemed relevant at the time, it today appears to be slightly absurd, and his theory is
evidentially extremely flawed. Firstly, many convicted criminals have perfectly symmetrical faces,

The Sphere Of Women In The Anebellum Era
In the antebellum era of America, which is the time before America s civil war, there was a call
for justice and liberty. The American Revolution had ended a few years ago, the new Constitution
was in place, and arguments about slavery began. Abolitionists were demanding that slaves be
freed while most of the American population could not decide what to do or said no. This sparked
another argument and fight, women s rights. Religious reasons were being tossed back and forth
between the fight of elevating a womans status or keeping her where she is. Women of this time
wanted to elevate their status, or change their sphere, from being domestic, pretty, obedient women
to being equal as man. Historians though have different thoughts about the sphere of women. By
evaluating secondary sources and primary sources during and about this time, I can conclude that
women did want to change their sphere and that depending who the woman was determined what
sphere she may be in.
Catherine Clinton is a historian who wrote The Ties that Bind which is about the sphere women
were in in the antebellum era. She proposed that the nineteenth century ushered in a social as well
as an economic revolution for American women. Catherine focuses on the middle class women of
this time and how their spheres impacted them. She believes that due to these spheres women
wanted to rise up and elevate her status to being equal to men. Women of this time had no way of
changing laws or standards due to the

  • 2. Women On The Front Line Society has built a stereotype that says women are inherently weaker than men. This has limited women s chances to get ahead, but people are not standing idly by instead they are pushing for women to get equal opportunity. Some of these advancements are that women now have the right to vote, to own their property, and get jobs. However, not all jobs are available to women such as combat positions in the military. Combat positions or chances on the front line are unavailable to women because they are depicted as fragile and in need of protection. Women deserve the opportunity to try to gain their placement on the front line because women can be just as strong as men and they are willing to fight. It connects with the gastrocnemius muscle proximally in the mid calf. It inserts in calcaneus in complicated manner. There is an osteotendinous junction between Achilles tendon and calcaneum with a sesamoid fibrocartilage above the junction. Other nearby structure includes a layer of periosteal fibrocartilage covering the tuberosity of calcaneum and pre calcaneal fat pad. The fat pad stabilizes the Achilles tendon proximally by the fibrous connection [1 3]. Within two layers of fibrocartilage, a retrocalcaneal bursa presents to reduce friction. The onset of the Achilles tendinopathy might be chartacterized by the swelling and pain of the ankle joint. The pain can occur from the calcaneal insertion of Achilles tendon to 5 centimeters proximally. It is usually worse after and during physical activities especially running. Although the pain would decrease after rest, it cannot be resolved totally. If the pathology is untreated, the swelling and pain would deteriorate. The patient could feel a thickened a tendon and see soft tissue swelling. Besides, the pain will become chronic and appear during daily activities like walking [11]. Teaching skills that I acquire will enable me to minister the Gospel successfully. My interdisciplinary degree is, therefore, important in developing my ministry. Leaders and leadership entail many temptations. It is often believed that leaders are not holy and are far from practicing ethics in their respective duties. Leadership is considered to be bound by corruption, but from a biblical perspective, Deborah was a leader and a judge who was trusted. The Bible notes that Deborah carried out her duties both as a prophet and judge. It is clearly indicated that she exercised complete religious and political leadership while leading the people of Israel. At the same time, Deborah also practiced judicial duties and militaristic leadership upon the individuals she was in charge. Deborah became the most important person amongst the Israelites. • 7. Cookmaid With Still Life Of Vegetables And Fruit Fashion is a platform in which one can represent themselves. People are often characterized and assessed based on what they wear and how they present their body to the world. This notion of clothing not just being for function but also for expression dates back long before the modern age. In the early seventeenth century, for example, an artists portrayal of apparel was used as a symbol of wealth and status. The paintings Cookmaid with Still Life of Vegetables and Fruit (Figure One), Probably Mary Lady Scudamore (Figure Two), and Dudley, the 3rd Baron North (Figure Three) all depict people of different prosperity and backgrounds. The subject of the portrait, Dudley North, is pictured wearing a knee length rich black garment fully embroidered in silver thread, paired with an extravagant set of shoes. He also dons a white collar and cufflinks made of lace, paralleling those depicted in the portrait of Lady Scudamore. The color and materiality of the attire convey the elite status of Dudley. The subject of the painting was a principle courtier of James I, a role that placed him in the heart of clothing. The court members developed into models for the noble style of dress, with royalty spending thousands of pounds annually for their wardrobe. In the modern world, fashion is predominately a female dominated industry. However, in the early seventeenth century, the dress of men was of greater importance than that of woman, as aristocratic woman often lived privatized lives whereas men were more exposed to society. The fit of the male outfit also held a high significance, just as it did for the female. In the portrait, Dudley s waist is highlighted through the tight tailoring of the costume, and is enhanced by the belt that clasps his sword. • 8. The European Court Of Justice Introduction Although the European Court of Justice (ECJ) continues to insist that national procedural autonomy remains a key consideration, its case law shows that this principle has enjoyed a varying amount of deference through the decades. Although the principle of equivalence is tolerably clear, setting out clear requirements that can be easily fulfilled by national legal orders, effectiveness has had a much more chequered history. Francovich also represents a further incursion on the procedural autonomy of Member States. This essay will argue that the ECJ s shifting attitudes over the years ranging from relative deference to activism ultimately spring from non legal considerations, particularly political necessity and a desire to preserve the EC s core competencies; such political considerations also explain why there has never been generally applicable legislation that harmonises national remedies. Starting point: national procedural autonomy? It is true that the ECJ has outlined the importance of national procedural autonomy in its judgments over the years. In Comet, it held that it was for each Member State s national legal order to lay down the procedural rules for proceedings designed to ensure the protection of [EU] rights . Three decades later, this exhortation was repeated in Unibet, where the Court thought the EC Treaty was not intended to create new remedies in the national law... other than those already laid down by national law . Everything in life changes; change is constant and inevitable. One, who evolves, chooses to do it for better or for worse. In literature, a character s evolution is seen through a term called dynamic characterization. Dynamic Characterization is clearly visible in the novel Anthem by Ayn Rand . In this dystopian fiction book, mankind has entered a period of darkness regarding the government and society; a society where your job, mating partner, and mindset has been chosen for you, and a government where individuality is forbidden. Living amongst this dark period in time is Equality 7 2521. In Anthem, Equality is a dynamic character through his important character traits. All civilizations have erected monuments to not only prove they existed, but because they believed they would remain permanently. The Ancient Greeks were no different, portraying their ideal standards of beauty and proportion into their sculptures. Their ideal perception of adulation represented the highest form of perfection, comparable to the infinite impeccability of their gods and goddesses ( ). Evidently, the Ancient Greeksideals served as a prerequisite that transcended into the ideals of their successors, the Ancient Romans. The Marble Statue of a Bearded Hercules exemplifies the emergence of unique Roman standards intertwined with the praised idealism of the Ancient Greeks. The Romans were heavily influenced by the Greeks, as Greek art was engrossed by the Romans resulting in the development of new standards of beauty and proportion, from creating numerous copies of Greek sculptures. The colonists had high hopes to find new things to take back to England to make profit off of and be the first to obtain life in the New World. Things started off well for the new colony, but the colonists began to have issues with the new people they had discovered on the island known as the Croatan and Secotan Indian s. Before beginning any teaching, I had to assist each student s ability to understand English. Then, I started off with very simple assignments. Then you have to teach them how to write them when they have understood how to read and write then you must move on to the next concept. That doesn t mean to forget about it completely. He is known for writing Two Treatises of Civil Government and Thomas Jefferson is known for using his ideas in the Declaration of Independence. His Treatises heavily influenced the United States and numerous other republics (A republic is a form of government in which power is held by the people and their elected representatives instead of a monarch) to form. The United States of America and its allies (who are mostly republics) are the strongest countries on Earth and all of them are heavily influenced by his ideas. The Enlightenment was a time during the 18th century that stressed the belief that science and logic give people more knowledge and understanding than tradition and religion. Once again, we may have done more harm than good by treating a chronic problem as though it were an acute crisis. Not everyone agrees that polygamy is a problem. University of Chicago economist and Nobel laureate Gary S. Benson commented on this issue in 2006. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The idea is that these tendencies are not perplexing happenstances; they are built into the very dynamics of polygamous unions. The more wives a man has the less power they have. A home with, let s say, six wives and twenty four children, is likely to function more like a monarchy than a democracy in order to prevent unworkable chaos. Even an oligarchy is likely to need a very strong Enforcer, and almost always this will be the man. Polygamy is almost impossible without extreme patriarchy. But this is only one part of the equation. Another is that husbands and wives in monogamous unions often foster more desirable behavior in their spouses by providing all kinds of positive and negative inducements. But a patriarch in a polygamous union rarely has to cope with such frustrating complexities. If one wife is upset about something, instead trying to understand and correct what is troubling her, he can easily turn to another. This robs all the wives of much power. They would do well to join forces and engage in collective bargaining; but apparently this rarely happens. Extreme patriarchy easily becomes tyranny against women. The American Revolution had ended a few years ago, the new Constitution was in place, and arguments about slavery began. Abolitionists were demanding that slaves be freed while most of the American population could not decide what to do or said no. This sparked another argument and fight, women s rights. Religious reasons were being tossed back and forth between the fight of elevating a womans status or keeping her where she is. Women of this time wanted to elevate their status, or change their sphere, from being domestic, pretty, obedient women to being equal as man. Historians though have different thoughts about the sphere of women. By evaluating secondary sources and primary sources during and about this time, I can conclude that women did want to change their sphere and that depending who the woman was determined what sphere she may be in.
