Obstructive Sleep Apnea Essay
In this day and age, nearly everyone has heard the term Sleep Apnea in one place or another,
whether it was on the news, from a friend or relative, or perhaps from their very own physician.
What is sleep apnea? Who is at risk for developing sleep apnea? Are there specific signs or
symptoms to look for? How is sleep apneadiagnosed? Can it be treated? What additional health
problems can be caused if the disorder is untreated? All of these are vital questions. Most people
have encountered sleep apnea, but many do not know the answers to these important questions,
and knowing these answers may help save their own life or the life of a loved one. Sleep apnea

Individuals of Black, Hispanic, or Pacific Island nationality as well as those over age 65 are also
at increased risk. Obstructive Sleep Apnea can be very difficult to identify without help from
another individual. Even though those who suffer from the disorder will notice differences in
their sleep patterns, or the lack of ability to sleep, the development of OSA is a gradual process,
and many of the signs are only displayed when the individual is asleep. The signs and symptoms
indicative of OSA include daytime somnolence and fatigue, loud snoring, falling asleep during
normal daily activities, being awakened by shortness of breath and or gasping, insomnia, frequent
dry mouth or sore throat upon awakening, morning headaches, and sleep walking. Others around
the individual may observe the actual periods of breathing cessation or talking while sleeping.
Sleep apnea causes many additional health problems. Some of the physical problems it can cause
are hypertension, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and edema (swelling) of the
limbs, trunk, and face, which can be severe to the point that fluid will escape through the skin. The
health issues that are caused by sleep apnea are not limited to the physical, but also include
psychological problems, such as forgetfulness, depression, impaired cognition, and shortened
attention. Research has demonstrated that people diagnosed with sleep apnea frequently

Roone Arledge s Monday Night Football
During the fall, regardless of who is playing, Monday Night Football is my favorite time of the
week. My roommates and I order a pizza, have a few beers, and listen to Jon Gruden and Mike
Tirico s commentary. Monday Night Football is great because it is something that enables my
roommates and I to get through Mondays. ESPN is also a program that is always on in my house.
It s usually being played in the background but when live sporting events are being broadcasted,
my roommates and I can usually be found watching it. When trying to figure out what to write
about in regard to this paper, I decided that I would be very interested in expounding upon the man
most responsible for the creation of Monday Night Football and ESPN. Without Roone Arledge,...

Instead of the traditional two man broadcasting team , Davies says, Arledge decided to put three
men in the booth (Davies, 2012). Together the three man team of Howard Cosell, Don Meredith,
and Frank Gifford brought contrasting styles and personalities (Davies, 2012) to the broadcast
booth. The contrasting styles of Meredith and Cosell especially delighted viewers because of their
off kilter banter and one upmanship. Cosell was especially electrifying because he was not afraid
to speak his mind and criticize players for mistakes and poor decisions. The combination of Arledge
s innovations and the commentary from the broadcast booth led to Monday Night Football

Artificial Pancreas
Pancreas is an organ in the body that secretes hormones such as insulin which is important in
keeping normal blood sugar. When the pancreas is unable to produce or produces little insulin
then one suffers from type I diabetes. When the body becomes resistant to the insulin or produces
insulin that is not enough then an individual suffers from type II diabetes. So as to be able to
control diabetes one has to fully rely on drugs and injections. This means that once diabetes sets in
there is no cure. A solution to all these problems is the artificial pancreas. Artificial pancreas is a
device that mimics the functioning of a healthy pancreas of regulating blood sugar. The tiresome of
controlling the blood sugar manually can be a risky one since as humans one must sleep and
cannot control blood sugar when asleep. Therefore this system includes a blood sugar monitoring
device that controls the blood sugar. The problems associated with the manual blood sugar control
are reduced since the blood sugar monitoring device ensures that the blood sugars are well
regulated. Therefore the purpose of the use of artificial pancreas is to ease the therapy diabetes and
to ensure safety of patients by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other purpose of this system is to reduce the severe effects of temporal stoppage in the use of
insulin at a time when the blood sugar levels fall to low glucose threshold. This is why the system
is sometimes referred to as the low glucose suspend system. It is therefore an ideal way that can
be used as a back up when the patient does not respond to low blood sugar event. The
disadvantage with this kind of artificial pancreas is that the patients have to be alert in checking
the blood sugar levels manually and give themselves insulin through eating. It is however a better
way of ensuring stability in patients who experience low blood sugar

Embracing Depression Essay
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. Oscar Wilde Perhaps I feel
compelled to write on the subject of depression because it is a selfish disease. It seeps into every
crevice of one s life; it refuses to be ignored, to be relegated to some obscure cornerof the mind.
Perhaps I m writing about it because of what I have learned about my relationship with the disease.
Perhaps the time has come when I m readyto stop cursing the depression and start embracing it.
What I m about to say is terribly unfashionable, and I hope that you will forgive any offense that it
may cause. In all truthfulness, I m glad that I have lived with depression as a companion. ... Show

On a recent episode of ER, a physician who was deaf queried, Did you ever think that being deaf
might not be so bad? She had accepted that her deafness was a part of her life, without allowing
it to define who she was. For quite a while, I wasn t able to see my depression in that way. When
it was first diagnosed, I didn t want to admit that this was something that would affect my
existence. I wanted to rid myself of the illness immediately. As the years passed, however, I let
myself become the incarnation of the disease. Lurking at the edge of my consciousness was the
thought that I should resist the attempts to heal the depression. A part of me believed that if I let
the medications and psychotherapy take the depression away from me, I would be lost. Rather than
seeing myself as a person with depression, I saw myself as a depressed person. The distinction is
subtle but significant.
I have finally reached the point where I can see both the horrors and the beauty of depression. It is
something that should be neither glorified nor reviled. I am able to hate the illness for stealing
away moments of my childhood while simultaneously appreciating the insight it has helped me to
gain. Had I not known the absolute anguish it brought, I would not now recognize supreme
happiness. Had I not experienced the heartache of personal defeat, I would not find such succor in
emotional triumph. Had there not been times when I thought of

The Theories Of Personality Theories

Prof. Christina Gonzalez
Many psychologists have formed important theories regarding personality. Some of these theories
are still relevant to our world today. These theories have helped form humans and they have also
changed the way we think and the way we do things. There are many different forms of personality
theories that have shaped the world for us: Biological, Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Humanist, Trait,
etc. Biological theories are based on genetics and they believe that genetics are responsible for
personality. Behavioral theories suggest that personality is the reason for interaction between
others. Psychodynamic theories are mostly based on the works of Sigmund Freud. These theories
state that the unconscious mind and childhood has effects in personality. Humanist theories believe
that the ability to be free and have experience on one s own effects personality. The final
personality theory it the Traits theories. This theory states that personality is passed along by traits.
The many personality theories still may not be just enough information for us to understand why
everyone has a different personality, but the theories do help us to have a broader understanding of
it. Famous psychologists such as Sigmund Freud, Carl Rogers, Carl Jung, etc are responsible for
making these theories understandable. They are great thinkers who have proposed many intelligent
theories and reasons for personality. Some of these theories are still

The Rise Of Christianity And Christianity
Christianity began its succession into the most dominant worldwide religion after Jesus crucifixion
and resurrection. We heard Him say, I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three
days build another made without hands. Upon Jesus death and resurrection, he completed this task
setting forth the development of Christianity. Since Jesusleft no formal authoritative power,
organization, or agreed upon scriptures, a wide variety of sects gained popularity in the
development of Christianity. Most of these sects were later deemed as heretic, one of the most
notable being Gnosticism. Gnosticism was a dualist religion believing the material world evil and
the invisible spirit realm good. This belief obligated Gnosticism to follow Docetic interpretations.
Docetism is the belief that Jesus was never truly man but rather a divine from the spirit world. All
forms of Christianity, however, believe Jesus is son of God sent as humanity s savior from
damnation. Docetism, along with other aspects of Gnosticism, drove other Christians condemn
Gnosticism as heresy. Gnosticism, however, is more comparable to Canonical Christians than
realized. Specifically, the distinction between Docetism and strict Canonical belief is not only
insignificant but also justifiable due to Canonical contradictions surrounding Jesus existence.
Canonical Christians belief on Jesus time on earth is exhibited clearly by The Gospel of John, The

The Social Issue Of Drug Trafficking In Latin America
Drug trafficking presents a social evil that has refused to go away despite numerous interventions
by governments and concerned stakeholders across the world. This problem is mostly prevalent
in America. Latin America is among the major producers of illicit drugs in the world. Besides
being a big producer, Americans are also among the biggest consumers of drugs (Dorn et al. 23).
The rise in organized crime organizations commonly known as cartels in America are in charge of
drugtrafficking. Research indicates that Americans spend over 150 billion dollars on illicit drugs.
This money could alternatively be used constructively. Drug trafficking is an issue that has
generated heated debates from policy makers, government officials as well as the members of the
public. This is because of the associated negative effects associated with drug trafficking. The
detrimental effects of drug trafficking includes increased crimes, national instability and other
economic issues among others.
The level of criminal activities especially homicides has been on the rise in Mexico. These
crimes do not only affect Mexico City but also other states due to the spillover effect. Competition
among the cartels over the control of drug territory is largely to blame for these crimes. Towards
the end of 2011, United States reported more than 50,000 deaths related to drug trafficking. This
paper seeks to propose some possible solutions to the unending problem of drug trafficking. The

Redbox is a DVD/Blu Ray rental company which utilizes kiosk machines placed in convenient,
high traffic locations. The first Redbox kiosk was opened by McDonald s in 2002. Redbox was
later purchased by Coinstar, Inc., and over the years, Redbox has rented over one billion movies
and has grown to more than 27,000 locations in restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and
convenience stores nationwide. Redbox proves to be a very unique way to rent DVD s and by the

Not only does Redbox provide a unique service, they provide it at a low cost at convenient
locations. Most movie rental stores charge $4 5 to rent a new release for approximately 3 days,
whereas Redbox provides a similar service for $1.29 per night. This is extremely cheap
considering most consumers watch their movie rental the same day they rent it. Furthermore,
Redbox gets this low cost movie rental product to the consumer through a channel of distribution
historically associated with snack foods and soda. By providing movie rentals through vending
machines called kiosks located at shopping locations where consumers already go to shop, they
have eliminated much of the costs associated with conventional movie rental stores and the need
for consumers to make an additional stop just to rent a movie. Since Redbox s inception, it has
experienced enormous growth and profit, but they will need to evolve in order to get ahead of the
curve.
Although Redbox appears to have established themselves as a formidable competitor to Netflix
and Blockbuster, they are facing a gruesome reality. The take home movie rental business is
rapidly losing ground to online streaming video directly to consumers homes via the internet.

Blockbuster are feeling the pressure. Blockbuster, Inc. has already declared

Essay on A Career as a Real Estate Agent
The most formidable aspect in real estate has to be maintaining one s career. Although there are
many agents in this career field, the competitive environment portrayed daily makes this career
one that may prove to be unsuitable for the meek. Negotiations, persuasion, debate and often a
frequent contest for supremacy in the agency are recurring tasks when trying to sell property to
clients. One could think of this as similar to the board game Monopoly , in reverse. Rather than
trying to own all the property around, these players attempt to sell as much land as they possibly
can. Those who fail to recruit an adequate amount of clients find it hard making it past go and

Real estate is a year round opportunity to help countless people realize the American dream (

financial investments, and a majority of homebuyers and sellers rely on the services and expertise
of real estate professionals to assist them with their transactions (Profile of Home Buyers and

determine what kind of property they are looking for (Richard, 2012). This means, setting up
interviews with clients to see if the agents firm possesses property that meets the client s specific
needs. Once it is apparent exactly what the client is looking for, the agent sets appointments to
show houses to clients and many times the agent physically accompanies couples while showing off
properties.
Throughout the process of showing clients houses, the agent discusses not many things about the
property itself. Because the agent must be aware of the neighborhood the property is in, they often
use their knowledge of the landscape to further convince clients as to why they should make the
investment. Some main points discussed are, distance from the nearest shopping, size of the
rooms, and various features of the house. Such things as, the fireplace, pools, the size of the garage
and even the gardens are discussed when overviewing the

Teaching Reading Comprehension
Introduction
What is reading? Reading is about understanding written texts. It is a complex activity that involves
both perception and thought. Reading consists of two related processes: word recognition and
comprehension. Word recognition refers to the process of perceiving how written symbols
correspond to one s spoken language. Comprehension is the process of making sense of words,
sentences and connected text. Readers typically make use of background knowledge, vocabulary,
grammatical knowledge, experience with text and other strategies to help them understand written
text.
Researchs and classroom practices support the use of a balanced approach in teaching reading

A person may also read for enjoyment, or to enhance knowledge of the language being read. The
purpose(s) for reading guide the reader s selection of texts.
The purpose for reading also determines the appropriate approach to reading comprehension. A
person who needs to know whether she can afford to eat at a particular restaurant needs to
comprehend the pricing information provided on the menu, but does not need to recognize the
name of every appetizer listed. A person reading poetry for enjoyment needs to recognize the
words the poet uses and the ways they are put together, but does not need to identify main idea and
supporting details. However, a person using a scientific article to support an opinion needs to know
the vocabulary that is used, understand the facts and cause effect sequences that are presented, and
recognize ideas that are presented as hypotheses and givens.

Research Paper On John Bunyan
Books have been a form of entertainment for centuries. Authors from all over the world have
been writing books of various lengths and for various ages. In fact, many authors have become
famous because of their books. For example, C. S. Lewis has become famous because of his
Narnia series, Suzanne Collins because of her The Hunger Games trilogy, and Laura Ingalls
Wilder because of her Little House on the Prairie series. Millions upon millions of authors have
written millions upon millions of books, but not many can compare to The Pilgrim s Progress, by
the famous author, John Bunyan. John Bunyan was born on the November of 1628, in a small

themselves as brothers and sisters keepers ( USCCB Catholic Social Teaching, Web 21/02/2017).

There is a bond and equality between all persons, because all are created in the image of God ,
and because Jesus founded a new brotherly community (GS 32). In the same vein, solidarity has
a moral sense in that the bond unites all human persons in the basis of common dignity,
fundamental equality, and rights. It also has a sense of protection. Hence, solidarity could be
used as a resistance to insensitive government to achieve the required and honourable goal.
Social and distributive justice can be achieved through solidarity. There are then some obvious
links between solidarity and practical solutions in society. In solidarity, one cannot find rest while
others find no rest. It is a matter of commitment to the lots of others. The concrete experience is
that one must be involved in the lot of those who are affected. McKenna has a similar view with
the above fact when he says, Charity in truth builds community and brings all people together
without imposing barriers (31). The principle of solidarity helps to see the other whether a person,
people, or nation not just as some kind of instrument but also as a neighbour (64). The United
States Conference of Catholic Bishops also declared that greater attention must be given to the
needs of the poor, the weak, and the vulnerable in a debate often dominated by more powerful
interests ( USCCB Catholic Social Teaching , Web 21/02/2017). The bishops further emphasise that:

Poverty In Ayesha Says, By William Jaco
It s no secret that poverty affects minorities not only here in America but abroad as well. Our
inner cities see the blunt of legal system; with African American males incarcerated at a rate of
4,347 per 100,000 as of 2010(Shaefer Wu Edin 89) . Ayesha Jaco, sister to rapper Lupe fiasco,
wrote the spoken word poem Ayesha Says to shed light on injustices of a system that
overwhelmingly affects minorities. Ayesha s poem directly addresses issues that have been not
only plaguing the black community, but also compares the povertywe see here with the poverty we
seen in conflict ridden countries. Things like police brutality and the school to prison pipeline
leading to mass incarcerations of minorities overall, poverty and how it systematically affects
minorities, and how people of all races and creeds are coming together to fight these injustices. She
reflects on how these things impact communities and force a season of change among the people
afflicted.
Ayesha s starting lines Englewood or Egypt, Bedstuy or Baghdad...the west bank or the westside
of Chicago(Ayesha) , alludes to comparisons between impoverished nations overseas to
impoverished areas of our country that generally occupied by minorities. This gets the ball rolling
on the crux of problems that people in the ghetto face, poverty being one of them. One of these
results of poverty that Ayesha mentions are that of food deserts. Wright defines Food Deserts , low
income communities with a poverty rate of 20% or

Designing A Company s Long Term Economic Success
In today s markets, where consumers are face with a wide variety of product, the creative ones that
go beyond the expectation of functionality are more appealing to consumers [1]. Hence, the
important of innovation in a company s long term economic success. Consequently, a lot of effort
has been given to develop methods to promote creativityin ideageneration that allows designers to
produce a large number of ideas and explore the solution space [2]. For example, Brainstorming,
Csketch, TRIZ, biomimetic design, and design by analogy. However, besides been able to
generate creative ideas, and important aspect of the design process is to be able to select those
creative ideas. Hence, several concept selection methods (CSMs) have been developed and often
applied during the idea selection process ( e.g., the Pugh chart, utility theory, and the Analytical
Hierarchy Process) [3]. However, one limitation that some this CSMs have in common is that a
predefined set of criteria are used to evaluate the ideas under consideration (e.g., profitability,
market relevance, manufacturability) [4] and do not necessarily account for the novelty or
creativity of an idea. Consequently, creative ideas can be oversight during the selection process
[5]. In order to alleviate this problem several metrics that aim to capture the creativity of ideas have
been developed.

Agatha Christie Dysgraphia
Agatha Christie Dysgraphia It was quite true and I knew and accepted it. It did not worry or
distress me. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha
Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia.
Christie s dysgraphiacaused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from
being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three
percent of elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writingdisability.
Other names for dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math
disability (Siegel). When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process;
therefore, the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia
have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It
was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let
their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease,
there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child
with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special education
services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education services which can help
children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may
include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many
teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker.
Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use
the checkbook programs companies provide (259).
Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the
symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters,
unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page
(Richards 63). There are five different kinds of dysgraphia. The first is known as motor dysgraphia,

Pride in Young Goodman Brown and The Minister s Black Veil
Many of Hawthorne s characters wrap themselves in a pride of intellect.
The characters become victims of their pride and consequently suffer. Goodman

are two characters that suffer from a pride of intellect. Their pride causes
them similar problems and they end up living similar lives, although they came

Hooper and Goodman Brown s pride of intellect cause them to loose a loved

WomenВґs Civil Rights and Ayaan Hirsi
Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a voice for women in the Muslim diaspora. Her outspoken nature and strong
criticism of the Qur an have led to threats on her life by many religious leaders. Hirsi Ali was
born in 1969 in war torn Somalia. Her father was a prominent member of the party responsible for
the Somalian Revolution, however autonomy was a constant struggle in the early life of Ayaan
Hirsi Ali. As a child, she was subjected to Female Genital Mutilation. As a young adult, her family
tried to force her into an arranged marriage with her cousin. These struggles became the catalyst
for the film she wrote, Submission, in which she discusses the verses in the Qur an some men use
to justify supremacy over women. The compilation of these circumstances is what led to her career
in civil rights for women in the Muslim world. One passage Ayaan Hirsi Ali s film Submission
focuses on, is the menstruation of women: It is harm, so keep away from wives during
menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified
themselves, then come to them from where Allah has ordained for you. Indeed, Allah loves those
who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves (The Qur an: A New
Translation, Surat Al Baqarah Q 2:222).
The focus on ritual cleanliness denotes misogyny and a fear of menstruation in the Qur an. This

Literature Review Of M M Theorem
Literature review
The collaboration between the university professors and Nobel Prize winners, Franco Modigliani
and Merton Miller in 1958 have resulted the first and one of the most important theories in the
field of capital structure. Franco Modigliani and Merton Miller (MM) have developed a theory that
helps us to understand how taxes and financial distress affect a company s capital structure
decision. There were different unclear issues that M M theorem used their basis in building their
assumption. For instance, would a change in financing mix increase the value of a company. There
were many other issues taken into consideration which result the two main assumptions as well as

flows. Once the company decides to finance its assets, by selecting a certain proportion of debt and
equity, all it does is to split the cash flows between investors. Based on the assumption taken into
consideration by Modigliani and Miller that the investors and firm have equal access to financial
markets, which allows them for homemade leverage. The authors also pointed out that the investor
can create any leverage they wanted but not offered or the investor can get rid of any leverage that
the firm took on but was not wanted. This theory was proposed under perfect capital market
conditions (without taxes, transaction costs and information asymmetry) value of any firm is
independent of its financing decisions (Modigliani and Miller 1958). In a simplified context, the
value of the firm will not be affected by the leverage of the

Food Is A Way Of Life
Food has essentially become a way of life in our world. People identify by what kind of food they
grew up eating. People from the south feel that barbecue food is a way of life, while people in
Italy can t live without pasta. We can learn a lot about where are ancestors are from when we look
at what kind of food we eat, but we can also see the change that the culturewe live in has put upon
us. Since America is this beautiful melting pot of many different cultures we can see the blended in
all of us, but still know our heritage form the secret familyrecipes we have learned from our
parents, and grandparents. Food in essence is a part of our culture that shows us where we our
ancestors are from, where we currently live, where we grew up, what religion we partake in,
and just who we are as people. When my Grandparents immigrated to America from Italy, they
held on tightly to their Italian culture. One of the things they will not let go of is the prestigious
Italian food they grew up having. They wanted to pass on their love of Italian dishes onto their
children, who would then pass it down to their grandchildren. Make no mistake about it they
passed down their extreme love of Italian food down to us, but due to the fact that we grew up in
the heart of Texas our food preferences are a little different. My brother and I not only love the
sweet Italian food we grew up having at grandma s house growing up, we also love us some Tex

The Work Of Marina Abramovic
In this essay I will be looking into the work of Marina Abramovic in relation to the Feminist
movement. By looking at her work, I aim to emphasise her influence on this movement. In this
essay, I shall also briefly examine the works of Abramovic, particularly Art is Beautiful, Artist
must be Beautiful (1975) and four of her performances from her Rhythm series (10 (1973), 0
(1974), 2 (1974), and 5 (1974)). I shall describe the history of the Feminist movement and its
influence in order to develop an understanding of Abramovic s influence.
Marina Abramovic, was born on 30th November 1946 in Belgrade, Serbia (former Yugoslavia),
from an early age she was interested in art and as a teenager she felt the need to define herself and
her own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Abramovic s performances can be read as feminist works, even though she has expressed that she
was not particularly concerning herself with womens issues (Richards, 2010:19). This could be
due to her upbringing in Yugoslavia, where as a Communist country, there is less gender
inequality than that which is experienced by many women in the Western world (Richards,
2010:19). Also, as a woman, Abramovic was given the freedom to perform pieces such as her
Rhythm series, as she was seen as less of a threat than other artists in the 1970 s (Richards,
2010:2). This is problematic in itself, as it shows that as a female artist, Abramovic was not
expected to create much of an impact on the political world, perhaps suggesting that even in a
country where women have more gender equality with men, they are still subjected to the
ideologies that women belong in the private sphere, whereas men are thought to belong in the
public sphere, meaning that they are taken more seriously in political issues and are thought to have
more influence in these.
Abramovic s performances can be contextually analysed in terms of Ecriture Feminine, The Abject
Body and Feminism. Bell Hooks defines feminism as a movement to end sexism and sexist
domination and oppression, a struggle that includes efforts to end gender discrimination and create
equality (Hooks, 2000: 113). Feminism is also a political position (Barry, 2002:22). The term

Rules for pricing your home correctly within the current market and getting listed so realtors and
potential buyers know it s on the market.

I suggest that you compare at least 2 other resources besides San Jose MLS for pricing comps,
and at least the past 6 months, just to be sure you re in the right neighborhood for pricing. Look
at the homes that have sold, not the ones still listed for sale. Closed sales give you an idea of
what the buyers are willing to spend to own a home like yours.
Buyers
Getting an accurate read on the market so you have a price listing that will interest buyers is the
objective. Somethings you can do on your own and others, you need a professional. You did the
research and now you need to get an appraisal of your home. The costs vary depending on where
you live, but normally it falls around $200 $300. This task is essential, when appraisers look at
your home; they also use comps and do the market research to establish a price for the property in
the current market. Based on what you found and what report and compare, if you re both playing
in the same park it s a confirmation of the potential pricing. I say potential because, professionals
tend to be conservative without the emotional attachment you have to your homes.
Stats
Here are some recent stats on the San Jose market. The median sales price for homes through
January 2016 was $730,000. According to the past history of this market, this is a 1.4% decline

Before the earthquake, the RiГ±ihue Lake used the San Pedro River to discharge the water which

The Debate Surrounding Universalism And Cultural Relativism
1 Discuss the pitfalls of the debate surrounding universalism and cultural relativism. Which seems
to be stronger in Law and in Humanities and the Social Sciences. You can give some of your
personal experiences if you wish.
Answer:
Cultural relativism is the perspective according to which every culture has its norms, standards,
values, traditions, culture and custom. No culture is superior to any other culture. In this way, the
entire moral codes of the world going to be grounded because everyone seems to behave according
to their cultures. According to the cultural relativist approach, culture is an exclusive source of the
legitimacy of a moral rule and right. On the other hand, Universalism proposed that an entire world
is belong to one culture that is why culture or society is irrelevant to the legitimacy of moral rules
and rights (Arat, 2006).
According to the proponents of the postmodernism and feminism, there is also some distinctions in
the basis of the relativism. They strongly condemn the discrimination in the society on the basis of
race and ethnicity. They contend that subjective relativism is more superior to the cultural relativism
. According to this perspective, life has more value than any other cultural norms of the society.
Since, society become more progressive and developed if there is more value of life than anything
else.

force independent of the ground forces (ix). Not agreeing with your boss is not a new concept,
especially in the military, but Billy Mitchell seemed to want to make an art form of it. Being a
bit outspoken, he attacked the War and Navy Department for being insufficiently farsighted
regarding airpower (Meilinger). He believed that surface fleets were obsolete and proved the
point, to at least him, with the sinking of several battleships during bombing test held in 1921
and 1923. His flamboyant actions, like his disregard for the rule of engagement in the sinking of
the German battleship Ostfriesland (and the dropping of a bomb on the still churning spot were
the ship slipped beneath the waves to add injury to insult) brought attention to his ultimate goal
of an independent air force, but his inability to keep his mouth shut finally lead to his undoing.

Pros And Cons Of Interracial Relations
Have you ever thought about what the race of the future will be? What race your grandchildren
will be? Well believe it or not it s mixed. Although not often spoke about there is still a debate on
whether mixed race children are a good or bad thing. This isn t just fathers not wanting their
daughters to date outside their race, there are people who view interracial relations as a genocide of
both races involved.
What I want to bring to your attention is the mass murder of a nation of people through the process
of giving birth. the author of the article this quote is from is referring to interracial relations. The
destruction of God s Children (and ALL RACES of people) through integration. the author talks

there s a simple solution, love. Think about the cops shooting unarmed black people, if those
cops had a black wife or husband it probably would ve ended very differently. As Beatty said in a
recent interview, there s a simple solution to the race problem: It s called love.
Because if we all saw both sides of the coin in front of us there wouldn t be such thing as racial
tension, and being a person with both white and black parents I can give you a honest outlook
saying I see both sides of the coin. The people who have a problem with interracial unions see the
future that is likely for all of us, a country made majorly of multiracial people. Scared of white
christian americans being made the minority in a country they were never the majority in. the
same article from the second paragraph justifies keeping races separate with biblical reasons,
When God created the different races of the world, He intended for them to remain separate.
Those who marry across racial lines are breaking the laws that God made explicit in the Bible. The
mixing of the races is responsible for the corruption of America and will eventually lead to the
extinction of the Whiterace. ( The Bible Prohibits Interracial

What Is Bharatnatyam Essay
BHARATNATYAM A REVIVED SPECTACLE
By Aishwarya Deshpande (1411)
Tap. Swirl. Pirouette. Move like your body is free from all shackles. With a burning desire in your
heart, dance, like your life depends on it. Dance, like nobody is watching.
When your mind wants to express something, you speak. When your heart wants to express
something, your face does the talking. Similarly, dance is the body s way of expressing itself.
India, with its rich cultural heritage, has plenty to offer. One of the most famous forms of culture
that depicts Indian tradition, are the classical dance forms. The mother of classical dance forms is
Bharatnatyam.
HISTORY
Bharatnatyam is presumably the oldest classical dance heritage of India. Conventionally a solo
dance performed only by women, it initiated in the Hindu temples of Tamil Nadu. Eventually, it
flourished in South India. The theoretical base for this dance form is the Natya Shastra , an ancient
Hindu text about the performing arts. Bharatnatyam depicts Hindu religious themes and spiritual
ideas, by way of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nattuvanar can also play the cymbals or any other instrument. Bharatnatyam is mostly
associated with Carnatic music. The instruments that complement a Bharatnatyam performance
consist of cymbals, the flute, a long pipe horn called nagaswaram, a drum called the mridangam,
and the veena. The verses recited during a performance are usually in Sanskrit, Tamil, Kannada and
Telugu.
Bharatnatyam is a highly revered, and the most difficult dance form to perfect. The poise, grace
and precision one learns from this art form, cannot be matched by any other. If you can master
Bharatnatyam, you can master any dance form in the world!
Let us read, and let us dance; these two amusements will never do any harm to the world.

Privacy And Privacy In Architecture
This thesis is tending to illustrate and understand how privacy affects the arrangement of spaces in
the modern architecture of Pakistan from time to time. This study will lead us further to a timeline
of the need of privacy and modernity in the architecture of Pakistan. Architecture movements
always originated from the social environment. Life of today is different from life 100 years
before which shows the new form of the shelter according to human needs and necessity. Life
nowadays is more fast and dynamic than before we move from one place to another, city to suburb,

Modernization in industries developed a modern architecture which enlarges the possibilities of
building and construction. Large windows, freedom on ground floor plans, walls no longer
bearing the load. It feels more like the free and flexible design then fixed and inflexible as it was
before. The equation which makes modern architecture more unique was form follows function
which was derived by Luis Sullivan which gives more realistic approach in architecture. His
experiments in design give new direction to architecture, especially after WANG RIGH building.
His disciple Frank Loyed Wright brought principles of his master and develop new forms to
architecture. His plans threw aside all adherence to the traditional concept of balance and symmetry.
Much more than this, the concept of organic architecture which influence can be seen in Germany

How Does Senator Bob Corkr Use Ethos Pathos Logos
Senator Bob Corker strongly uses Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. All three are used strongly throughout
his many interviews. In the first interview excerpt, Corker used Ethos heavily with a few examples
of Logos. Throughout the interview, Corker gives many examples of President Trump urging him
to campaign, and how the President would endorse him. Corker also gives examples of many
things he s done to provide Ethosthat show his credibility as a political figure. To tie into the
Ethos, Corker also used Logos when providing the dates of his meetings with other political
figures. In the second interview excerpt, Corker uses Ethos and Pathos with a small amount of
Logos. Ethos is shown in the statements given about his part in the Iran deal and the President s
urging for him to run. It is also shown when Corker tells of the President inviting him to a private
dinner and the other multiple occasions where the two have met. Similar to the first excerpt, these
Ethos examples show his credibility to be a political figure. Corker uses Pathos when he talks
about growing up, ...not using the L word, and how he doesn t understand why the President

Reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission, particularly from industrial production, to combat
global climate change is one of the biggest sustainable development challenge for the international
community. Countries are adopting Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs), low
carbon development strategies and climate changepolicies to tackle issues of climate change and at
the same time meet their development goals. At the global level, United Nations Framework
Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Kyoto Protocol, have paved ways for voluntary
GHG emission reduction targets. To facilitate the mitigation actions, carbon intensities of

GHG Reporting Programme
In simple terms, accounting and reporting of GHG programme begins with identification of
programme objectives. These objectives may range from voluntary action like tracking progress
towards GHG reduction targets; supporting national climate change strategies; supporting GHG
trading programs; facilitating GHG mitigation activities; to provide information to shareholders and
investors.
Once the objectives are decided, the programme decides on which GHG accounting principles to
adopt. Such process implements basic principles like relevance, completeness, consistency,
transparency, and accuracy of data. After the base year has been selected the process follows
internationally accepted GHG accounting methodologies (see available protocols and standards
below), which can be modified to suit the requirement of the country or company.
After the objectives and the methodologies are agreed upon, the programme design will decide on
sectors, sources and gases that the programme covers. Generally, major economic sectors such as
energy, industrial processes, land use change, agriculture, and waste disposal are considered for the
GHG emission. Similarly, the

As a Fortune 1000 enterprise, and an industry leader in the field of plastic injection molding,
Riordan Manufacturing, offers state of the art plastics design capabilities through its facilities in
San Jose, California; Albany, Georgia; Pontiac, Michigan; and Hang Zhou, China. Currently,
Riordan s COO, Hugh McCauley, and the executive team have requested changes to the current

The current process takes too many hours to complete the required tasks, so the new updated
system must be fast and efficient. All of Riordan Enterprise s locations will move to the new
accounting and inventory system; therefore, it must also comply with the existing technology.
Companies are recognizing that not only is the aftermarket profitable, but it also can drive
significant competitive advantage as a customer service differentiator (Kevin O Brian 2005)
An initial evaluation of accounting and inventory systems for all the Riordan Enterprise locations
is required. We need to know what software is currently in use and how effective it is. If our
evaluation determines that, the existing software is not performing all of the needed requirements
it will be necessary to upgrade them as well. Next, we will need to evaluate their existing hardware
to determine its integrity. If the hardware is also outdated, another evaluation will be necessary to
determine what will replace it. If the evaluation of the hardware determines that the existing
equipment is adequate, then we can proceed with the software upgrade. The request specifically
asks for a complete system that is faster and interrelated into all of the locations. After the
evaluations are complete a list of additional hardware will be generated and a timeline of what to
be installed / upgraded where.
The timeline will be a critical part

Synopsis and Objectives
Suggested complementary case in investment management and financial performance: Warren E.
Buffett, 2005 (Case 1) Set in the autumn of 2005, the case recounts the remarkable performance
record of Value Trust, a mutual fundmanaged by William H. (Bill) Miller III at Legg Mason, Inc.
The case describes the investment style of Miller, whose record with Value Trust had beaten the S
P 500 fourteen years in a row. The tasks for the student are to assess the performance of the fund,
consider the sources of that success, and to decide on the sustainability of Miller s performance.

Malkiel finds some evidence of hot hands and cold hands, but concludes that the evidence
provides no reason to abandon the theory of capital market efficiency. Another excellent book by
Malkiel, A Random Walk down Wall Street (New York: W.W. Norton Co., 2003), surveys the
evidence for an efficient market in prose accessible to the novice.
Students who are new to the subject of finance may also find it useful to refer to one or more
dictionaries of financial terms, such as Barron s Dictionary of Finance and Investment Terms,6th
ed., by John Downes and Jordan Elliot Goodman (Hauppauge, New York: Barron s Educational
Series, Inc., 2002), or The New Palgrave Dictionary of Money and Finance, ed. Newman, Milgate,
and Eatwell (New York: Stockton Press, 1992).
Hypothetical Teaching Plan
Assuming the case is taught early in an introductory finance course, the teacher s classroom
strategy can begin with the coin flipping exercise suggested by Malkiel. All students are asked to
stand up and to prepare to flip a coin. At the first and subsequent rounds, those who get tails are
asked to sit down. Usually cheers and humor accompany the final rounds.
1.Question for the student who won the coin tossing game: The case mentions that Burton Malkiel

Patriotism And Blind Patriotism
Introduction
In the United States, it is not uncommon to see an American flag in someone s yard or on a
bumper sticker on a car. Americans are patriotic and this is evident throughout the year and
especially on Independence Day. The American flag, the pledge of allegiance, and the national
anthem are all national symbols. To many Americans, these symbols represent what the country
stands for which is freedom and justice for all. Patriotism is common in the United States and it is
this love of nation, the pride that one feels, and the loyalty to the country that many believe is what
being an American is all about. Patriotism is ingrained in this nation since its founding and
continues to be important today. Moreover, I will examine not only patriotism but also religion and
party identification. Although people in the United States are attending Church at lower rates; I
believe that religion has an effect on party identification and patriotism. I am especially interested
in the relationship between blind patriotism and party identification and how much influence
religious beliefs have on both. I hypothesize that if a person identifies as an Evangelical Christian,
then they are more likely to be Republicans and that there will be a positive relationship between
blind patriotism and Christianity. Meaning that if a person identifies as an Evangelical Christian,
then they are more likely to be Republicans and engage in blind patriotism. I think that this will be
the case

Research Methods in Sociology and Anthropology
By
Western Governors University
Abstract
Sociology and Anthropology rely upon investigational and research techniques. While some of
these may be similar they also differ. Each discipline has its own philosophical justification for
their method but any and all approaches to study the society s culture require some degree of
fieldwork.
A. Research Methods in Sociology Scientifically studying human society s development, origins
and organizations/institutions is defined as Sociology. (Wikipedia, 2013). The methods of analysis

Experimental research concentrates on how and why something happens. It is the evaluation of
how an independent variable (a manipulated factor) affects a dependent variable (an observed
factor). The outcome can be affected by a number of elements; obtaining random and representative
samples of the study population, experimenter bias and extraneous variables.
Bias as defined by the expectations of the researcher of what should or should not happen
influencing the results. Lack of control on extraneous variables may interfere with the results; only
with careful control on extraneous variables can valid conclusions about the effects of specific
variables on other variables be drawn. (CliffNotes). The philosophical justification for survey
research is cost containment with a large volume of research. It is also one of the most efficient
and quick methods to gather large amounts of information. Data analysis can be completed in a
short period of time and generalization is better, particularly when the representative sample is of a
population. It also helps elimination of bias in result interpretation as subjects have the ability to
remain anonymous.
B. Research methods in Cultural Anthropology The study of cultural variation among humans and
collecting data regarding the impact of global economic and political processes on local cultural
realities is the cultural anthropology branch of anthropology. (Wikipedia, 2013).

  • 2. Obstructive Sleep Apnea Essay In this day and age, nearly everyone has heard the term Sleep Apnea in one place or another, whether it was on the news, from a friend or relative, or perhaps from their very own physician. What is sleep apnea? Who is at risk for developing sleep apnea? Are there specific signs or symptoms to look for? How is sleep apneadiagnosed? Can it be treated? What additional health problems can be caused if the disorder is untreated? All of these are vital questions. Most people have encountered sleep apnea, but many do not know the answers to these important questions, and knowing these answers may help save their own life or the life of a loved one. Sleep apnea syndrome is a sleeping disorder marked by repetitive episodes of cessation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Individuals of Black, Hispanic, or Pacific Island nationality as well as those over age 65 are also at increased risk. Obstructive Sleep Apnea can be very difficult to identify without help from another individual. Even though those who suffer from the disorder will notice differences in their sleep patterns, or the lack of ability to sleep, the development of OSA is a gradual process, and many of the signs are only displayed when the individual is asleep. The signs and symptoms indicative of OSA include daytime somnolence and fatigue, loud snoring, falling asleep during normal daily activities, being awakened by shortness of breath and or gasping, insomnia, frequent dry mouth or sore throat upon awakening, morning headaches, and sleep walking. Others around the individual may observe the actual periods of breathing cessation or talking while sleeping. Sleep apnea causes many additional health problems. Some of the physical problems it can cause are hypertension, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and edema (swelling) of the limbs, trunk, and face, which can be severe to the point that fluid will escape through the skin. The health issues that are caused by sleep apnea are not limited to the physical, but also include psychological problems, such as forgetfulness, depression, impaired cognition, and shortened attention. Research has demonstrated that people diagnosed with sleep apnea frequently ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Roone Arledge s Monday Night Football During the fall, regardless of who is playing, Monday Night Football is my favorite time of the week. My roommates and I order a pizza, have a few beers, and listen to Jon Gruden and Mike Tirico s commentary. Monday Night Football is great because it is something that enables my roommates and I to get through Mondays. ESPN is also a program that is always on in my house. It s usually being played in the background but when live sporting events are being broadcasted, my roommates and I can usually be found watching it. When trying to figure out what to write about in regard to this paper, I decided that I would be very interested in expounding upon the man most responsible for the creation of Monday Night Football and ESPN. Without Roone Arledge,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of the traditional two man broadcasting team , Davies says, Arledge decided to put three men in the booth (Davies, 2012). Together the three man team of Howard Cosell, Don Meredith, and Frank Gifford brought contrasting styles and personalities (Davies, 2012) to the broadcast booth. The contrasting styles of Meredith and Cosell especially delighted viewers because of their off kilter banter and one upmanship. Cosell was especially electrifying because he was not afraid to speak his mind and criticize players for mistakes and poor decisions. The combination of Arledge s innovations and the commentary from the broadcast booth led to Monday Night Football becoming a national institution and one of the most profitable and longest running programs in television history (Davies, ... • 6. Artificial Pancreas Pancreas is an organ in the body that secretes hormones such as insulin which is important in keeping normal blood sugar. When the pancreas is unable to produce or produces little insulin then one suffers from type I diabetes. When the body becomes resistant to the insulin or produces insulin that is not enough then an individual suffers from type II diabetes. So as to be able to control diabetes one has to fully rely on drugs and injections. This means that once diabetes sets in there is no cure. A solution to all these problems is the artificial pancreas. Artificial pancreas is a device that mimics the functioning of a healthy pancreas of regulating blood sugar. The tiresome of controlling the blood sugar manually can be a risky one since as humans one must sleep and cannot control blood sugar when asleep. Therefore this system includes a blood sugar monitoring device that controls the blood sugar. Oscar Wilde Perhaps I feel compelled to write on the subject of depression because it is a selfish disease. It seeps into every crevice of one s life; it refuses to be ignored, to be relegated to some obscure cornerof the mind. Perhaps I m writing about it because of what I have learned about my relationship with the disease. Perhaps the time has come when I m readyto stop cursing the depression and start embracing it. What I m about to say is terribly unfashionable, and I hope that you will forgive any offense that it may cause. In all truthfulness, I m glad that I have lived with depression as a companion. ... She had accepted that her deafness was a part of her life, without allowing it to define who she was. For quite a while, I wasn t able to see my depression in that way. When it was first diagnosed, I didn t want to admit that this was something that would affect my existence. I wanted to rid myself of the illness immediately. As the years passed, however, I let myself become the incarnation of the disease. Lurking at the edge of my consciousness was the thought that I should resist the attempts to heal the depression. A part of me believed that if I let the medications and psychotherapy take the depression away from me, I would be lost. Rather than seeing myself as a person with depression, I saw myself as a depressed person. The distinction is subtle but significant. I have finally reached the point where I can see both the horrors and the beauty of depression. It is something that should be neither glorified nor reviled. I am able to hate the illness for stealing away moments of my childhood while simultaneously appreciating the insight it has helped me to gain. • 8. The Theories Of Personality Theories Diana Maxwell BEH /225 6/19/2015 Prof. Christina Gonzalez Many psychologists have formed important theories regarding personality. Some of these theories are still relevant to our world today. These theories have helped form humans and they have also changed the way we think and the way we do things. There are many different forms of personality theories that have shaped the world for us: Biological, Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Humanist, Trait, etc. Biological theories are based on genetics and they believe that genetics are responsible for personality. Behavioral theories suggest that personality is the reason for interaction between others. Psychodynamic theories are mostly based on the works of Sigmund Freud. These theories state that the unconscious mind and childhood has effects in personality. Humanist theories believe that the ability to be free and have experience on one s own effects personality. The final personality theory it the Traits theories. This theory states that personality is passed along by traits. The many personality theories still may not be just enough information for us to understand why everyone has a different personality, but the theories do help us to have a broader understanding of it. Famous psychologists such as Sigmund Freud, Carl Rogers, Carl Jung, etc are responsible for making these theories understandable. • 9. The Rise Of Christianity And Christianity Christianity began its succession into the most dominant worldwide religion after Jesus crucifixion and resurrection. We heard Him say, I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three days build another made without hands. Upon Jesus death and resurrection, he completed this task setting forth the development of Christianity. Since Jesusleft no formal authoritative power, organization, or agreed upon scriptures, a wide variety of sects gained popularity in the development of Christianity. Most of these sects were later deemed as heretic, one of the most notable being Gnosticism. Gnosticism was a dualist religion believing the material world evil and the invisible spirit realm good. This belief obligated Gnosticism to follow Docetic interpretations. Docetism is the belief that Jesus was never truly man but rather a divine from the spirit world. All forms of Christianity, however, believe Jesus is son of God sent as humanity s savior from damnation. Docetism, along with other aspects of Gnosticism, drove other Christians condemn Gnosticism as heresy. Gnosticism, however, is more comparable to Canonical Christians than realized. The Social Issue Of Drug Trafficking In Latin America Drug trafficking presents a social evil that has refused to go away despite numerous interventions by governments and concerned stakeholders across the world. This problem is mostly prevalent in America. Latin America is among the major producers of illicit drugs in the world. Besides being a big producer, Americans are also among the biggest consumers of drugs (Dorn et al. 23). The rise in organized crime organizations commonly known as cartels in America are in charge of drugtrafficking. Research indicates that Americans spend over 150 billion dollars on illicit drugs. This money could alternatively be used constructively. Drug trafficking is an issue that has generated heated debates from policy makers, government officials as well as the members of the public. This is because of the associated negative effects associated with drug trafficking. The detrimental effects of drug trafficking includes increased crimes, national instability and other economic issues among others. The level of criminal activities especially homicides has been on the rise in Mexico. These crimes do not only affect Mexico City but also other states due to the spillover effect. Competition among the cartels over the control of drug territory is largely to blame for these crimes. Towards the end of 2011, United States reported more than 50,000 deaths related to drug trafficking. This paper seeks to propose some possible solutions to the unending problem of drug trafficking. Not only does Redbox provide a unique service, they provide it at a low cost at convenient locations. Most movie rental stores charge $4 5 to rent a new release for approximately 3 days, whereas Redbox provides a similar service for $1.29 per night. This is extremely cheap considering most consumers watch their movie rental the same day they rent it. Furthermore, Redbox gets this low cost movie rental product to the consumer through a channel of distribution historically associated with snack foods and soda. By providing movie rentals through vending machines called kiosks located at shopping locations where consumers already go to shop, they have eliminated much of the costs associated with conventional movie rental stores and the need for consumers to make an additional stop just to rent a movie. Since Redbox s inception, it has experienced enormous growth and profit, but they will need to evolve in order to get ahead of the curve. Although Redbox appears to have established themselves as a formidable competitor to Netflix and Blockbuster, they are facing a gruesome reality. Although there are many agents in this career field, the competitive environment portrayed daily makes this career one that may prove to be unsuitable for the meek. Negotiations, persuasion, debate and often a frequent contest for supremacy in the agency are recurring tasks when trying to sell property to clients. One could think of this as similar to the board game Monopoly , in reverse. Rather than trying to own all the property around, these players attempt to sell as much land as they possibly can. In fact, many authors have become famous because of their books. For example, C. S. Millions upon millions of authors have written millions upon millions of books, but not many can compare to The Pilgrim s Progress, by the famous author, John Bunyan. There is a bond and equality between all persons, because all are created in the image of God , and because Jesus founded a new brotherly community (GS 32). In the same vein, solidarity has a moral sense in that the bond unites all human persons in the basis of common dignity, fundamental equality, and rights. It also has a sense of protection. Hence, solidarity could be used as a resistance to insensitive government to achieve the required and honourable goal. Social and distributive justice can be achieved through solidarity. There are then some obvious links between solidarity and practical solutions in society. In solidarity, one cannot find rest while others find no rest. It is a matter of commitment to the lots of others. The concrete experience is that one must be involved in the lot of those who are affected. McKenna has a similar view with the above fact when he says, Charity in truth builds community and brings all people together without imposing barriers (31). The principle of solidarity helps to see the other whether a person, people, or nation not just as some kind of instrument but also as a neighbour (64). Our inner cities see the blunt of legal system; with African American males incarcerated at a rate of 4,347 per 100,000 as of 2010(Shaefer Wu Edin 89) . Ayesha Jaco, sister to rapper Lupe fiasco, wrote the spoken word poem Ayesha Says to shed light on injustices of a system that overwhelmingly affects minorities. Ayesha s poem directly addresses issues that have been not only plaguing the black community, but also compares the povertywe see here with the poverty we seen in conflict ridden countries. Things like police brutality and the school to prison pipeline leading to mass incarcerations of minorities overall, poverty and how it systematically affects minorities, and how people of all races and creeds are coming together to fight these injustices. She reflects on how these things impact communities and force a season of change among the people afflicted. Ayesha s starting lines Englewood or Egypt, Bedstuy or Baghdad...the west bank or the westside of Chicago(Ayesha) , alludes to comparisons between impoverished nations overseas to impoverished areas of our country that generally occupied by minorities. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia. Christie s dysgraphiacaused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three percent of elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writingdisability. Other names for dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math disability (Siegel). When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process; therefore, the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease, there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special education services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education services which can help children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker. Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use the checkbook programs companies provide (259). Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters, unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page (Richards 63). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Abramovic s performances can be read as feminist works, even though she has expressed that she was not particularly concerning herself with womens issues (Richards, 2010:19). This could be due to her upbringing in Yugoslavia, where as a Communist country, there is less gender inequality than that which is experienced by many women in the Western world (Richards, 2010:19). Also, as a woman, Abramovic was given the freedom to perform pieces such as her Rhythm series, as she was seen as less of a threat than other artists in the 1970 s (Richards, 2010:2). This is problematic in itself, as it shows that as a female artist, Abramovic was not expected to create much of an impact on the political world, perhaps suggesting that even in a country where women have more gender equality with men, they are still subjected to the ideologies that women belong in the private sphere, whereas men are thought to belong in the public sphere, meaning that they are taken more seriously in political issues and are thought to have more influence in these. Abramovic s performances can be contextually analysed in terms of Ecriture Feminine, The Abject Body and Feminism. Bell Hooks defines feminism as a movement to end sexism and sexist domination and oppression, a struggle that includes efforts to end gender discrimination and create equality (Hooks, 2000: 113). Which seems to be stronger in Law and in Humanities and the Social Sciences. You can give some of your personal experiences if you wish. Answer: Cultural relativism is the perspective according to which every culture has its norms, standards, values, traditions, culture and custom. No culture is superior to any other culture. In this way, the entire moral codes of the world going to be grounded because everyone seems to behave according to their cultures. According to the cultural relativist approach, culture is an exclusive source of the legitimacy of a moral rule and right. On the other hand, Universalism proposed that an entire world is belong to one culture that is why culture or society is irrelevant to the legitimacy of moral rules and rights (Arat, 2006). According to the proponents of the postmodernism and feminism, there is also some distinctions in the basis of the relativism. They strongly condemn the discrimination in the society on the basis of race and ethnicity. They contend that subjective relativism is more superior to the cultural relativism . According to this perspective, life has more value than any other cultural norms of the society. Since, society become more progressive and developed if there is more value of life than anything else.
