3. A business card I was asked to
design.
This was the first commissioned
project I ever did, when I was
12 years old (year 7). I was very
new to designing then and was
just putting images together
and layering text onto.
If I could go back now I would
have sketched lots of ideas
before doing a computer
version and done a couple of
version too.
Since then the way I design is
much more different and I
actually do a little bit of
planning – where as then I
didn’t at all and just
experimented straight away.
4. A website I was asked to
design.
I was asked by the same
person who asked for the
business to create a website
for the musician for a mean of
promotion.
I did have a very old version
however that has since been
long gone. I created the
website when I was very young
and didn’t know lots about
creating them. The original has
no banner, a very distracting
background and colours that
didn’t complement each
other.
To the right is more up-to-ate
version I did last year so I have
already improved this project.

6. This is when I created my
business cards and website.
I decided on the telegram
idea from looking at vintage
things and I wanted my design
to be original and my own. I
have changed the email since
and a few stamps to keep the
design fresh. I was very pleased
with how it tuned out and what
I like about it being mine is that
I can change it whenever I
want to fit my imagination and
style of the business.
In addition to the cards I also
created my own website at
the same time. The screen shot
to the left is a much more
recent photograph as my very
first website has been lost
since. I do remember it being a
lot less stylish however allowed
me to experiment and my
knowledge grow about design.

8. This was the second commission I have
had – a lot more money than my first –
and it was to take photographs for a
production so they could use them as
the backdrop to a ‘Wind in the
Willows’ production at The Roses
Theatre.
I was given a few shot lists on what
they wanted and I did a few different
version of each one so the director
could have more choice. For example
I took three photos of ‘A tree lined
road’.
I then had a meeting with the director
and she chose the ones for each
scene that she wanted to use and I
placed them in a PowerPoint ready for
the show.
If I were to change anything I did with
this project it would have been the
technical aspects with using the
camera. Back then I was sill relatively
new to the camera so could have
done some more research of how to
get the best out of my photographs.
9. This brochure was given out at the
viewings. It incudes four of my images
and a mention, from the Take Part
Director, of me. .
10. In addition to the performance
backgrounds, I also had a stall set up
so I could sell some of my photographs
of the children at the rehearsals which
I had done a shoot a few weeks back.
I has a large board set up where each
photo was printed and numbered
making them visually noticeable.
I sold them for £1 each and earned
£35 from 15 minutes. Each person filled
out the short form which I had created
so it was simple to order them. I then
organized them together and used
part of the revenue to pay for the
printing of the images – as I don’t have
the facilities.
I then placed them all in envelopes
addressed to those who ordered them
, along with my business card and the
order form.
If I were to do this again I would create a offer of some sort (4 for £3) so try and
entice people. As I have the equipment to do it now I would also print the images
myself saving hassle when going to a dark room to get it done.
11. I was approached by someone who wanted photograph to print, frame and give it to their friend
for a gift. The only description they gave me was ‘t needs to have Chosen Hill in it’. To improve this
I could have taken photographs from different sides and angles of the hill for the client to have
much more choice.
12. This is still a live project and involves my
bands website and business card. I
have the power to change the style
whenever however the reasoning to
the first design was the gunge effect
and gritty street quality me and my
band mate were looking for as it
reflect the independent aspect in our
music.
There are always going to be updates
in the future however if I was to do
anything more when I first started this
in August I would have created more
versions of the card to consult with
other people and ask for their
opinions.
13.
14. I crated all my icons and logos for
Graphikal in January of 2014 as a fresh
new look to my website and designs.
I spent a long time on them and put a
lot of thought into them.
If I were to re-create them I would use
the knowledge and design skills I've
leant in this past year to create vectors
of the logos that could be used
professionally on much larger scale.
It’s an ongoing process so hopefully in
the future I will be able to create
similar logos, or even new ones, to use
instead.
15. I was asked by ‘Churchdown Online’ if
they could use some of my
photographs of Churchdown for their
website.
As they were all photos I had already
taken I was a little limited in
preparation (there was non needed).
In the future however I will ask if they
need anything specific and plan a
shoot with shot lists and the ideas in my
mind.
16. In February I was commissioned to
make a birthday invitation for their
use to send out to family members.
The client and I had a few meetings
and discussed the ideas she had liked
and played around with. She
mentioned what typeface and font
she would like and what it would say
and even where on the page it could
be. It was very structured so I was able
to snap up quite a quick idea within a
few hours.
If I were to do it now I would have
increased the canvas size I created
the graphic on so the best quality was
shown when printed.
17. In April I was send a years free card to
attend Adams farm whenever I
wanted. This was so I could take
photographs for their website and
social media sites.
I would defiantly have liked to have
visited more times than I did and
regret this hugely. Next time I will make
the most out of the opportunity if this is
to come up again.
18.
19. In January I was approached by the
head teacher from Hingham Primary
Academy and asked if I could spend
an afternoon taking some promotional
images of the school.
It went very smoothly however it
occurred very rapidly with no time to
suggest any shots of even create a
shot list. This is what I would have one
and would do next time if given more
time. This way I would have been more
prepared with ideas already in my
head.
