Types of Attacks in Comnputer Security
This paper is presenting types of attacks in security of TCP/IP protocol and also defense to security
problems. Flaws in such system are due to attackers access over machine and due to insecurity of
machine. Paper proposed solutions to the problems and discuss problems without considering their
implementation.
Attack like TCP sequence number prediction where spoofing is allowed on host on a local network.
A variant in TCP sequence number attack exploits the netstat service where the intruder
impersonates a host that is down. If netstat is on the target host it supplies the necessary sequence
number information on another port. Defense to this is by randomizing the increment, good
logging and alerting mechanisms.
The joy of routing This is the simple attack that basically depend on routing protocols that has
been used. It is further categorized in different attacks that can be Source Routing In which target
host reverses source route in a TCP for traffic that is returning. So facilities can be exchanged
between host and attacker. The idea to protect from attacks is to put gateways into the local net for
rejection of external packets that acting as part of the local net or to do rejection of pre authorized
connections. Another attack is The Routing Information Protocol (RIP) attack is mostly used on
local networks like broadcast media. As information here sent is not checked so intruder can change
or send modified information due to which protocols that depends on

The Respect of Soldier s Rank
In the U.S. Military services, rank determines who gets to tell whom what to do. The higher one s
rank the more authority (and responsibility) they have. U.S. Military personnel fall into one of three
categories: (1) enlisted members, (2) warrant officers, and (3) commissioned officers. Warrant
officers outrank all enlisted members, and commissioned officers outrank all warrant officers and
enlisted members.
Rank and pay grade are closely associated terms, but not quite the same. Pay grade is an
administrative classification, associated with a member s pay. Rank is a title and denotes the
member s level of authority and responsibility. An E 1 is the lowest enlisted pay grade. That
person s rank is a Private in the Army and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
military for the first time in 1817, when cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.,
wore them on their sleeves. From West Point, chevrons spread to the Army and Marine Corps.
The difference then was chevrons were worn points down until 1902, when Army and Marine
Corps enlisted personnel switched to the present points up configuration.Navy and Coast Guard
petty officers trace their insignia heritage to the British. Petty officers were assistants to the
officers aboard ship. The title wasn t a permanent rank and the men served at the captain s
pleasure. Petty officers lost their rank when the crew was paid off at the end of a voyage. In
1841, Navy petty officers received their first rank insignia an eagle perched on an anchor. Ratings
job skills were incorporated into the insignia in 1866. In 1885, the Navy designated three classes
of petty officers first, second and third. They added chevrons to designate the new ranks. The rank
of chief petty officer was established in 1894.During World War II, the Army adopted technician
grades. Technicians of a given grade earned the same pay and wore the same insignia as equivalent
noncommissioned officers except for a small T centered under the chevrons. Technicians, despite
the stripes, had no command authority over troops. This evolved into the specialist ranks, pay
grades E 4 to E 7.

Research Paper On Thurgood Marshall
Thurgood Marshall Thurgood Marshall was an amazing attorney, judge, and Supreme Court
Justice. He was crucial in getting Civil Rights legislation passed and making life equal for all
races. Marshall did many great things but to appreciate those we need to understand his
background. Thoroughgood Marshall was born on July 2, 1908 in Baltimore, Maryland. His
mother, Norma, was a Kindergarten teacher and his father, William, was a club steward. In second
grade Thoroughgood shortened his name to Thurgood. His father used to listen to court cases and
come home to discuss them with his children which is where Marshall was introduced to law.
Marshall went to high school at Baltimore s Colored High and Training School where he was a

Ecotourism vs Volunteer Tourism
The discussion on ecotourism and its essence has led to over eighty different definitions of the topic
(Fennell, 2008). However, one of the most used and comprehensive definitions is reported by
Weaver (ibidem). It describes ecotourism as a form of tourism that fosters awareness, education and
enjoyment of the natural environment and the local values in a sustainable way (Weaver,
2001a:15). Hence, ecotourism, while thriving for profitability, aims to promote education and
cultural awareness of destinations without compromising their ecosystems. Eco tourists demand for
more authentic and meaningful forms of travel and; according to Orams (1996) (in Weaver, 2001a),
they can be classified in two different categories: hard and soft ones. The hard eco tourists believe
in radical self commitment with their destination, in order to ameliorate the natural environment
(give back something) through not mediated (Weaver, 2001b:106), challenging physical activities
immersed in the site s nature (ibidem). However, the soft visitors have shallower levels of
commitment to the environment than hard eco tourists. Indeed, while hard eco visitors tend to
organise independently (where high competence and time availability are required and low level of
services expected on site), soft ones rely on eco tour operators to organise less physically
demanding tours (tab. 1.1a) (ibidem). Nevertheless, further distinctions can be created between
these two categories depending on the antagonism

aflibercept with bevacizumab and ranibizumab for centre involved DMO using a standardized
follow up and retreatment regimen.17, 18 Due to there being only one study comparing
aflibercept with other anti VEGF agents, it was not included in the meta analysis. Figure 1
provides a flow diagram of the search process. In total, there were 661 patients included in this
meta analysis: 331 patients in the aflibercept group and 330 patients in the photocoagulation
group. The characteristics of the studies included and risk of bias assessment are summarized in
Tables 1 and 2. The DA VINCI study compared photocoagulation with monthly, bimonthly and as
needed or pro re nata (PRN) intravitreous aflibercept regimens. The PRN regimen was selected for
data extraction because this is the current practice with other anti VEGF drugs. The VISTA and
VIVID studies compared photocoagulation with 4 weekly intravitreous aflibercept (2q4) and a
regimen of five initial 4 weekly intravitreous aflibercept followed by 8 weekly injections (2q8).

Results: A Strategy For Modeling Salton Sea Basin Future Climate Scenarios Based On
Relationships Between Evapotranspiration And Precipitation
A comparison of the averaged weather station datasets versus the historic individual weather station
datasets was made for both precipitation and Eto. The averaged monthly dataset preserved
seasonality for both precipitation and Eto as illustrated in the figures. Notably, for the months of
February, March, and April, the average monthly precipitation volume was lower than the actual
weather station historic data. This occurred for two reasons: 1) the disparity in the number of
observations between the two weather station datasets and the average resulting in the largest
number of observations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results of the two test statistics differed at times, i.e., listing two different curves as providing
the best fit. In the fore mentioned situation, a final decision pertaining to the best fit was made
based on a visual assessment of the figures.
Precipitation Events and Eto Levels
The importance of using monthly data instead of annual data for the Salton Sea Basin. Further, the
two models: (1) (Logit Y1,..........12) Month = Constant + X1 Prcp, and (2) (Logit Y1,..........12)
Month = Constant + X1 Eto, established that some months were significantly different than others
concerning the amounts of precipitation and Eto, respectively. The relationships between the
duration of precipitation events ( CatEvent ) on the volume of precipitation ( PrcpAmt and CatVol
), and also on Eto volumes. A plot of the precipitation and Eto observations, percentage or
percentage of observations of a given magnitude, respectively, by month was also made.
The negative relationship between precipitation and Eto was tested statistically using two
multinomial logistic regression models and one binomial logistic regression model, respectively:

grew up on a farm in Fairfax County,Virginia where he was neighbors with George Washington.
Living near George Washington influenced Mason to have a keen interest in local affairs at an

The Nature Of God In The Wager By Blaise Pascal
In The Wager , Blaise Pascal makes the argument that people are either atheist or theist. Through
the use of clever transitional arguments Pascal is able to move from the nature of God to the
rational in believing in God, quickly in his paper. By comparing the benefits of theism and atheism,
Pascal is able to make the argument that it makes the most rational sense to believe in the existence
of a God, because it offers the most rewards and virtually no disadvantages. While some argue
the choice of belief, in this paper I address this concern and show that belief can be facilitated
easily through the changing of daily habits. Pascal begins his argument by explaining that
humans have boundaries and that they are able to know the nature and existence of the finite
because they are also finite, and have extensions. Pascal focusses on religion as an extension
which allow humans to know of the existence of a God. This is a very clever tactic used by
Pascal which allows the reader to see how obscure a concept God is by showing that it is
ungraspable. Yet this does not mean that because of religion God must exist, but more that
religion shows the presence of God through faith. Furthermore, Pascal writes, If there is a God, He
is infinitely incomprehensible, since, having neither parts nor limits, He has no affinity to us. We
are then incapable of knowing either what He is or if He is (pg 3). This is an important point in
Pascals paper because he is making the sub argument

The primary purpose of a story focused on the destructive impact of war on the people especially
the one who server in battle. War is in Vietnam that a Boy name Henry served. He got imprisoned
for three years in Vietnam. After that, he could come back home to his other sibling which they
were waiting for him. Henry did not have the emotional stability that he used to have before the
going to war. This is the point that Erdrich points it out very clearly is her short story. The audience
can be realized the purpose of her story while she is reading throughout the story. For instance, at
the beginning of the story, Henry with his brother Lyman bought the Red convertible. They were
a very happy family that they made a road trip with their in the summer as Erdrich wrote We d
made most of the trip, without putting up the car hood at all. We got home just in time (327). She
could have addressed that Henry was the active and happy person before going to war.
1. Is the writer trying to entertain or to educate?
Edrich entertains the audience with her book. However, the book is education people in so
many ways. She described an American Native family. The reason perhaps is that because she is
half an American Native from her mother side. She used her heritage to develop her characters so
that her characters in the books which are also Native American are also are real. Thus, when
something is real people get educated maybe not in a direct way, but it can be the indirect way.

Jon Stewart Discussion On The Ferguson, Missouri Coverage
Introduction The satire option that I chose for the purpose of this assignment is the Jon Stewart
discussion on the Ferguson, Missouri coverage. Here, Jon, the satirist is an arbiter of American
political media, and as a media critic, he is also the former television host of The Daily Show
which is a satirical news program that airs on Comedy Central.
In the video, Jon Stewart critiqued topics revolving around the shooting of teenager Michael
Brown by the police. The topics ranged from police brutality, black lives matter, negative
stereotypes, double standards, white privileged and an unacceptable mentality of sheer ignorance
of some Americans towards people of color, in other words, African American in a comedic but
very real sense. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, the claims are believable as the show relies heavily on the use of various news footages,
often in a documentary way that employs archival video to show contrast and contradiction, even if
the purpose is satirical rather than reportorial. The content on the show is unburdened by
objectivity, journalistic integrity or even accuracy, nevertheless, it speaks volumes with Jon Stewart
s big unauthoritative persona as he attempts to breakdown on selective representation.
Content Reliability The reliability of the content presented in The Daily show with regards to the
Ferguson, Missouri coverage by Jon Stewart is reliable enough or fairly reliable. I say that
because as much as it is credible, it does have a real yet comedic satire spin to it. As mentioned
earlier, The Daily Show relies on various news footages and instead of solely relying on these bias
sources, Jon Snow puts his own critical spit to it. He raises controversial issues that mainstream
media coincidently neglects. With regards to the Ferguson, Missouri controversy, he filled in the
blanks and dared to say the unsaid and emphasised the existence of white supremacist and white
privilege and compare and contrasted white and black people experience and interaction with the
law enforcements agents.
Language Used Jon Stewart, when presenting the Ferguson case, like all his other shows, he uses

Developing A Healthy Organizational Culture Essay
Human Resources approach performs an extremely essential function in creating and maintaining
competitive advantage; many organizations disregard the importance of HR in creating competitive
advantage. The three priorities will require a major transformation in the organization. HR strategy
should support the conversion, and help the workforces to acclimatize in a different environment.
One major objective of the innovative HR strategy will be to create a healthy organizational culture
that supports innovation, collaboration, and intercontinental operation. Leadership plays an
enormously important role in developing a healthy organizational culture. (Dessler, 2013)
Furthermore, the innovative HR strategy will provide the workforces a platform where they can
express their opinion, thoughts, recommendations, and perspectives for the conception of a more
productive workplace. The workforces can also share their views on how to create a supportive
organizational culture. The personnel will likewise share their ideas and recommendations on
improving processes, cutting expenditure, reducing waste etc. The Availability of such platform
will improve employee satisfaction, create a sense of ownership, involve employees in decision
making, and motivate employees to achieve their individual as well as organizational objectives.
(Dessler, 2013) Additionally, the modernistic HR strategy will develop a workforce preparation
procedure that can determine the critical abilities and skills of

He was known to his audience as the Master of Suspense and what Hitchcock mastered was not
only the art of making films but also the task of taming his own mad imagination Hitchcock told
his stories through intelligent plots, witty dialogue and a spoonful of mystery and murder. In
doing so, he inspired a new generation of filmmakers and revolutionized the thriller genre, making

oversimplified as well as over analyzed. Hitchcock was eccentric, demanding, inventive,

Ideals And Controversies Of National Park Expansion
Ideals and Controversies of National Park Expansion Since the early 1920s to the 1970s, there
has been a debate regarding the perceptions and standards by which national parks should be
established and limiting the expansion of national parks, limiting access for people living in
urban areas and threatening open spaces due to urban sprawl and over population. Gradually
traditional perceptions gave way to the preservationists viewpoints which redefined and
gradually expanded federal definition of national parks. This was to include areas that may not
be extraordinarily scenic but still required environmental protection or allowed recreational
access for urban citizens, allowing for expansion and more funding. In 1872, Yellowstone
National Park in Wyoming became the first national park to be established by Congress and
President Grant with the signing of the Act of Dedication Law. It followed that any national park
established subsequently would be measured against Yellowstone s significance in American
culture. (Runte, 2010, p. 190) This is based on its impressive geological features, and majestic
and monumental scenery. By the early 1900s, there was controversy surrounding the criteria as to
what would define a national park, as President Roosevelt had signed in several tracts of lands as
national parks that did not hold scenic value, where not especially expansive tracts of land, and one
was utilized as a gaming preserve by a governmental branch. One proponent to the

The Writer s First Line Generator Summary
The Writer s First Line Generator is a website that has some computer generated assistance if you
are writing. This week wordpress has been encouraging a daily post of flash fiction and it helped
me identify a direction I could take to write my flash fiction post of two days ago.
However, yesterday I went back to the site to see if I could mine it more for inspiration. It
suggested an introduction very, very similar to my post of the twenty fifth. This is what it had for
me:
The afternoon when my brother murdered his wife, I became a millionaire s tailor.
I was unhappy that what seemed promising to get some flash fiction rolling was quickly becoming
redundant.
Frankly, this sentence seems a little strange; it was refreshing to have a jump off point two days
ago for flash fiction, but the same general composition would likely result if I went from there.
However, tonight, I m thinking about it, and suddenly I realize I can go to the Content Creation

Compare And Contrast Safavid And Mughal Empires
Safavid and Mughal Empires The decline of the Mongol Empire laid ground for the Ottoman,
Safavid, and Mughal empires. These three empires all had military strength, Sovereign Pride,
Religious commitment, and Aesthetic sophistication in common to varying degrees. The Safavid
and Ottoman empires are usually compared because of the wars that broke out between them and
their similar attributes. However, this will be a comparison of the Safavid and Mughal Empires.
The Mughal empirewas founded by leader Zahir al Din Muhammad, known as Babur (the tiger)
in 1526. When he defeated Ibrahim Lodi, the last of the Afghan Lodi Sultans at the First Battle
of Panipat, where they used gunpowder for the first time in India. The Mughal Empire is known
as a gunpowder empire. With the help of gunpowder weapons Babur took Delhi in 1526. When
Babur died in 1530 he left a loosely knit empire he called Mughal. The word Mughal was the
Persian term for Mongol. The Safavid Empire s founder was the Persian mystic Sheikh Safi al
Din (1254 1334), after whom the order was named. The Safavid Empire was based in what is
today Iran. This Islamic Empire was strong enough to challenge the Ottomans in the west and the
Mughals in the east. The Mughal Empire ruled most of India and Pakistan in the 16th and 17th

Demonstrate Ethical Conduct

Joining the military at a young age, I became reliant on my leadership. I looked at anyone that
was higher rank to me, to be a leader. I became aware really fast, that just because you have rank
or a title, it does not make you a good leader. When you are brand new to an organization, you look
to your peers and leaders to guide you through the transition period. Some of us unfortunately fall

The values that Herbert brought to the organization ensure that work ethics encompass the whole

Characteristically paired with cognitive biases were anchoring effects which are the tendencies to

He theorized experienced well being compared to remembered well being which is the way that
most researchers relied on to explain happiness. From this he discovered that experienced happiness
was caused by different things that caused remembered happiness. The main component in
remembered happiness dealt with the duration. Commonly in memory a person can remember a
situation in which they were supposedly happy in that moment when it turns out when they
remember it they were not. For example a surprise guest shows up to a person s house that day. In
the moment they are delighted to see that person. But later on when reflecting on that day the

The human body has different mechanisms to maintain homeostasis, a condition that sustains
equilibrium within the internal environment of the body; which the immune system plays a key
role in. The immune system protects the human body from any foreign invaders through a series
of steps. The system consists of cells, tissues, and organs, one of the main cells are known as
Leukocytes or white blood cells (WBC). Leukocytes are produced and stored in different areas of
the body, such as the thymus, the spleen, and the bone marrow. Moreover, there are two types of
leukocytes; phagocytes, cells that fight invading pathogens and lymphocytes, cells that allow the
body to recognized previous pathogens. (5) Lymphocytes that help to activate the antibodies... Show

For instance, cancer treated with radiotherapy that consists of gamma radiation and x radiation.
The main difference between gamma rays and X rays is the production leading to the intensity.
Gamma rays being able to penetrate better are produced when atomic nuclei decay, and X rays
are produced when electrons hit a target or when they are rearranged within an atom. 39.6% of
the men and women in the United States will be diagnosed with cancer and 50% of all the
patients with cancer will be treated with radiotherapy (3). Radiotherapy is a precise method used
to fight cancer compared to other methods, it is designed to more accurately target and destroy
cancer cells, but that doesn t necessarily mean that it gets rid of all of the cancer cells within say a
tumor or cancerous growth.(18). Another drawback is that radiotherapy doesn t necessarily have
the best precision because the radiation can also hit the surrounding organs or cells that do not have
cancer, which may debilitate structure and function of those areas. When radiotherapy is used in
the abdominal area of the body it can affect the spleen, potentially causing irreversible damage. Two
point three percent of the cancer patients have cancer in their abdominal area. This includes

Creating Space
Creating Space: Resolving the Problem of National Identity in English Canadian Literary History
1867 1967
Abstract: In 1967, Canada celebrated her centennial as a country unified outwardly, but inwardly
divided. Within Canadian letters both French and English Canadian literary historians had spent a
hundred years unsuccessfully attempting to create a unified narrative to explain the shared story of
their origins. This paper will focus primarily on English Canadian literary histories, and the part
they played in resolving the problem of creating the nation of Canada. I will argue that it took a full
century to solve the problem , and was achieved by Northrup Frye s when he moving English
Canadian literature outside the realm of socio politics and entirely into the mythopoeic sphere.
However, this conclusion , relied on a modernist understanding of the role of meta narratives in the
shared story of nationhood, without which assumption, such a conclusion risks becoming little
more than a rhetorical contortion. I will conclude by suggesting that it was only when Canadian
letters moved beyond centralized meta narratives, and started to embrace (in Robert Kroetsch s
words) Disunity in Unity that a true Canadian literature and a more balanced literary history could
begin emerge.

Cultural Diversity In Australia Essay
Australia has a strong cultural diversity, I will start of by explaining Australia s culture, Australia is
one of the most ethnically diverse societies of the world today, Australia has the lowest population
density per square kilometre than any other country, The Aboriginal and Torres Strait people were
the first to inhibit the land of Australia, In Australia wearing your national dress for religious or
customary purposes is widely accepted, Australian dress code can change regarding different
jobs, events or environments, but in general public there is no law on dress codes, people dress
to suit their own style or in a way to express themselves, In Australia it is polite to shake someone
s hand when you first meet them, regardless of sex, it has also become quite common to kiss
someone hello on the cheek, but this is usually if you know them quite well and it is usually
between friends, it is also social custom to look someone in the eye if you are talking to them.
Australian culture tends to be informal in their everyday interactions, most people address other
people by their first names, unless otherwise instructed, it is also customary to say please and thank
you and excuse me and sorry in most situations.
Australians celebrate all kinds of different holidays, some recognised days hold national meanings
or to commemorate a past event, which in Australia we call a public holiday, on a public holiday

The Impacts of the War on Drugs
The War On Drugs has lasted many years, including before it was officially called War On
Drugs. The prohibition of drugs first got its start in the late 1800 s with anti opium laws,
focusing on chinese immigrants. This was common with the first anti drug laws. It entirely about
scientific based facts on what the effects or risks of the drugs, rather who was associated with the
use of the specific drugs. For example, the anti cocaine laws in the early 1900 s were directed at
black men, and the anti marijuana laws in the mid 1900 s into the 21st century, directed at Mexican
migrants and Mexican Americans. Today, black and latino communities are susceptible to being
profiled as heavy drugusing neighborhoods.
The 60 s are associated with being the era of experimentation. Also full of hippies and non
conformist, Make Love Not War protesters. Which caused youthful rebellion and political
differences to become the symbols of drugs. In June of 1971, President nixon officially declared the
War on Drugs causing an increase of federal drug control agencies throughout the nation and created
no knock warrants. Along with the war on drugs he placed marijuana into the most restrictive
category of drugs, called Schedule One. The committee that was appointed to putting marijuana
there suggested to decriminalize the possession of marijuana for personal use, but Nixon ignored
and rejected their recommendations. Despite Nixon s efforts, eleven states decriminalized marijuana

When this client centered approach is used, it promotes patient confidence in medical personnel and
ensures that when the patient leaves the Emergency department (ED) they have a firm
understanding of their follow up care and plan. This makes the patient more likely to be compliant
with follow up care, and self management of their chronic issues. (Cheryle Moss, 2014)
We should all be striving to provide this holistic approach that leaves the patient not only treated
competently and completely, but also leaves them feeling as though they understand what has been
done, and what needs to be done to improve their health and well being. This will not only lead to
better outcomes, but less waste because the patient will be more involved and informed of their
healthcare needs and decisions.
The next category of experience that the article identifies is: consistent duty of care . This level of
care describes a caregiver who is competent and efficient, but does not base the care on a patient
centered model. The article identified a higher percentage of care scenarios that matched this
description at 37%. Many of these patients were acutely ill patients that required immediate
stabilization and efficient treatment. Some of the patients fitting this category may have had an
altered level of consciousness during treatment as well, but they recall the efficacy of their care and
are appreciative. The patients that typically receive this type of care have trust that

% What is smouldering combustion?
Smouldering is defined as a self sustaining exothermic reaction in which the heat released by
surface oxidation causes pyrolysis of the unaffected fuel adjacent to the reaction zone, which in turn
yields a rigid char which will subsequently undergo surface oxidation citep{smith2006springer}.
The initiation of furniture fires by weak heat sources, such as, a cigarette or a short circuited wire,
and the flaming combustion of biomass occurring in bushfires behind the flaming front are two
common examples of smouldering combustion citep{rein2009smouldering}. extcolor{red}{$%$

% What are differences among gasification, thermal degradation and smouldering?
When referring to smouldering, it is important to understand the differences between smouldering
and other non flaming reactions which involve external heat flux, such as gasification and thermal
decomposition. Gasification and thermal decomposition typically involve little or no oxidation
reaction and hence are endothermic; while smouldering involves both endothermic and exothermic
reactions citep{ohlemiller2002chapter}. If smouldering reaction is self sustained, then the
endothermic reactions are the driving force for the smouldering. Char oxidation is the principle
heat source in most of self sustained smouldering; therefore, any material that forms char during
thermal decomposition has the potential for

Le Corbusier and Mies van de Rohe were two architects influenced by the contemporary
movements of their time period. Le Corbusier s architectural ideology was derived from the
multiple techniques and styles he had previously encountered through study. His early designs were
expressive of the youth style which was introduced to him by his instructor, L Eplattenier. New
technologies, however, began to influence his philosophies. Le Corbusier saw potential in concrete
building systems and desired to experiment with its structural abilities through his designs. The
modern industry, as well as the political disorder which came about following the First World War,

Style, he described, was defined by the time period in which architects practiced like building
techniques and philosophies. Michael Speaks would have attributed the lack of new in the
architecture of Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier s era to cohesion to general manifestoes
produce outside their time period. Architects from later time periods cannot pursue the same
manifesto because technological advances in design must be considered. His arguments reveal that
following a general manifesto from start to finish will produce an unchanging architecture.
Michael Speaks wrote, I do not believe we need another manifesto in architecture, even of the
incomplete, aborted or personal variety. Architecture, it seems has suffered enough from the
illusion that manifestoes matter (except insofar as they stifle creativity) and it is time we found
other ways of developing experimental practices ... Vanguards, with their five points, seven
principles and ten theses for a new architecture, draw a line that leads straight from the manifesto
to the new. And because the completion of this line is best that can be hoped for, there is nothing
new about the new. If architects followed the same lines to solve the same problems, a new
architecture could not be actualized. A separation from the lines between manifesto and solution
made way for discovery of design and methods of creating new architecture. Mies van der Rohe and

I have been in a situation where a man approached me at a Cabelas (sporting goods store) and we
were talking about guns. This man said I was a very charismatic individual and he would like to
talk to me about a job opportunity. To make a long story short, this man was trying to sell me on
a pyramid scheme. I told the man I would have to think his offer over and never called the man
back. He tried to contact me many times, and I ignored his calls and text messages until he finally
stopped perusing the business venture. It was a cowardly way of dealing with the situation, but it
worked.
I would definitely visit the countryside in different countries looking for business. I believe that in
more rural areas, most of the time, businesses care more about the people they serve. With fewer
people to cater to they can focus on their consumers. Rural areas, to me, seem to have more
interpersonal communications and can be more attentive to their consumer s needs.
In an event like the one told in the story the only way I prepare myself is by making sure the
doors are locked. Otherwise, if you are in an unknown location, it is kind of hard to prepare for an
unknown situation like street vendors pestering you. And if I was in the situation that the Deputy
Mayor of New Delhi was I would have more than likely done the same thing, hopefully without the
tragic ending. When monkeys attack I would do one of two things, fight the attackers or throw

Women are usually obsessed with their legs and breasts, while men are obsessed with muscle
size and genitals. Body dysmorphic disorder also shows up in other countries. BDD is a
common disorder among individuals seeking aesthetic surgery in Iran. In Brazil, prevalence of
the disorder in dermatologic patients was evaluated in a sample of 150 patients in a cosmetic
group, 150 in a general dermatology group, and 50 control subjects. Prevalence in the cosmetic
group was 14%, compared with 6.7% for the general group, and 2% for the control group.
CAUSES Exact causes of the condition have not been verified, though there are plenty theories that
exist. Heredity may have a big impact on the development of body dysmorphic disorder. Prevalence
of the disorder is four times higher in first degree relatives of individuals that already have the
condition than in relatives that do not have it. Brain anomalies may be important causes. Functional
abnormalities in visual processing and limbic systems have been documented. A study found
disturbances in whole brain structural topologic organization in subjects with body dysmorphic
disorder. Another study investigating the potential role of early life sexual, physical, or emotional
abuse in the development of body dysmorphic disorder found that subjects with the condition had
more retrospective experiences of sexual and physical abuse during childhood or adolescence

The Concept Of Self Identity
The concept of Self Identity, and the theories that relate to it, are ever present in Mary Shelley s
Frankenstein. The concept of Self Identity is a Psychological concept that many famous
Psychologists have spent years studying. The main theories of self identity that relate to the story of
Frankenstein are those by Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and Jean Jacques Rousseau. The ideas of
Sigmund Freud s concept of Superego, Id, and Ego are represented by Victor s father, the
creation, and Victor with their actions in the novel. Carl Jung s theory of shadow and self is
represented by Victor and his creation. The theory of tabula rasa and nature versus nurture are
shown by Victor and his relationship with his creation. In Frankenstein, several psychological
concepts based on self identity are showcased by Victor and his relationships with other beings.
Victor s own creation becomes representative of his Id, through the creatures reliance on instinct
and lack of ability to accept his own isolation. Freud describes the Id as the instinctual part of our
personality, and this includes sleeping, eating, and procreating. The monster catches up with
Victor and has a request for Victor, I am alone, and miserable; man will not associate with me; but
one as deformed and horrible as myself would not deny herself to me... This being you must create

Leisure as a concept is not easy to define, and is subject to differing opinions and class structure.
Where a working class person may define leisure as a way to display wealth, conversely, the upper

Greek Philosopher Xenophanes
Xenophanes was a Greek philosopher before the Socratic era whose conception of God was
different from other philosophers of his time. Before the evolution of God as a non human entity
the ancient Greeks believed that Gods and Goddesses were similar to that of humans and the only
distinction was that Gods were immortal and humans were mortal. He challenged openly the
concept of divinity proposed by Homer and put forward his ideas of Godthrough his poetic
approach. He noticed the corrupt behavior of humans and realized that if human are going to
worship any being it must be worthy of such an honor. He argued that ancient Greek Gods of
Olympia had experienced downfall similar to humans and thus are not worthy of being worshipped.
Xenophanes declared the idea of unity of God. This notion was very unusual for Greek culture and
society. He suggested that different poets and writers have induced the idea of multiple Gods in
the minds of Greeks. But the character of these Gods was against the very idea of a divine entity.
Xenophanes attacked the Greek mythology of his time by defining the unexplained deepness of
nature of divinity. He declined to accept the idea that Gods were just like human, they were born,
required cloths and are dependant on their body.
Discussion
There were two angles from which Xenophanes viewed God. One is that Homeric Gods showed
behaviors that were quite similar to the behaviors of humans. As per the definition, God had to be

Forgiveness In The Crucible
The Crucible In The Crucible by Arthur Miller, a tale of the witchcraft trials in Salem, the theme
of forgiveness was a reoccurring subject throughout the characters moral hardships. Elizabeth
Proctor, John Proctor, and God are all the subjects of giving or receiving forgiveness. Miller
portrays this theme by having all the characters be affected by the sins of themselves and others.
In the Bible, the Greek word translated forgiveness literally means to let go, according to JW.org.
Throughout the play, each character was uniquely affected by how they chose to forgive others.

This became a dilemma because the community did not know which decision God would want.
They believed lying was a sin and even if they lived when they eventually die they would be sent

not fighting for their lives. Excellency, I have signed seventy two death warrants; I am a minister
of the Lord, and I dare not take a life without there be a proof so immaculate so slightest qualm of

their lives.
In the Crucible, Miller exemplifies forgiveness and how it can affect everyone. Elizabeth Proctor,
John Proctor, and God are all the subjects of giving or receiving forgiveness. The characters also
dealt with the mental overcoming of shame and forgiving themselves for the wrongs they had done.
The witchcraft trials were a more politically than religiously influenced. This made it difficult to
decipher who was truly innocent and who was guilty, which no one was. Forgiveness led to a new

what their kids do on the internet. According to Coben, there are two reasons to put spyware on
your child s computer. One, parents need to protect their kids from cyberbullying and secondly,
everyone already can see what your children do on the internet. Coben also says that children will
find other ways to avoid the spyware such as using cellphones; but, Coben says, cell phones are
better than computers. Coben deems that parents should tell their kids that they have installed a
spyware in the computer. Coben makes some great arguments, but I do not agree with him. Cyber

Crisis Intervention Chapter 1 Summary
Chapter 1 discussed the concepts, theories, strategies, and skills needed for crisis intervention. It
was interesting to read about how government agencies like FEMA and the Red Cross have been
around for years; however they really do not focus on intervention from a mental health
perspective. The chapter briefly touched on the Cocoanut Grove fire. After research I learned that it
is the deadliest known night club fire in the world, killing 492 people, and sending 166 to hospitals.

clients are ideal or perfect. This chapter also stressed the importance of assessment. From onset to
resolution of the crisis, assessment is a continuous process. I learned that just because crisis appears
on the surface to have been resolved, it should not be assumed that assessment is no longer

Descriptive Essay About Interview
It is a nice day in the late afternoon. I sit with my uncle in the dining room. The warm, soothing
lights hang above us in the wooden chairs. He sits ready and prepared for the interview. Chad
Krumbach grew up in Osceola, Nebraska, a small, quiet town west of Lincoln. He went to the
Osceola High school and was the punter for their football team. He then graduated and chose to go
to UNL, where he majored in biology and nutrition. He then stayed in Nebraskauntil he moved to
Arizona in 2000, He is now an accountant who works at home. He lives with his wife and two
daughters. Chad applied to Wayne State College, University of NebraskaOmaha, and University of
Nebraska Lincoln. He chose to go to University of Nebraska Lincoln, because it was close enough
to home but not too close, he also got a scholarship to UNL as well. He also said It not
necessarily a dream college, but it was a college everyone knew about who lived in Nebraska .
He wasn t sure what he wanted to do, but he was interested in the field of biology so he went in
that direction. When Chad went to UNL, he always surrounded himself with positive and good
people. He knew people from Osceola and met new friends in college. He liked his friends and
always hung out with them when he had the time. He also liked his professors that he had. There
was one that he liked fairly well, The professors did a lot for me though. he said, My physics
professor made me want to learn and take me to the next step. She had a way

However, one of the most used and comprehensive definitions is reported by Weaver (ibidem). It describes ecotourism as a form of tourism that fosters awareness, education and enjoyment of the natural environment and the local values in a sustainable way (Weaver, 2001a:15). Hence, ecotourism, while thriving for profitability, aims to promote education and cultural awareness of destinations without compromising their ecosystems. Eco tourists demand for more authentic and meaningful forms of travel and; according to Orams (1996) (in Weaver, 2001a), they can be classified in two different categories: hard and soft ones. The hard eco tourists believe in radical self commitment with their destination, in order to ameliorate the natural environment (give back something) through not mediated (Weaver, 2001b:106), challenging physical activities immersed in the site s nature (ibidem). However, the soft visitors have shallower levels of commitment to the environment than hard eco tourists. Indeed, while hard eco visitors tend to organise independently (where high competence and time availability are required and low level of services expected on site), soft ones rely on eco tour operators to organise less physically demanding tours (tab. 1.1a) (ibidem). Nevertheless, further distinctions can be created between these two categories depending on the antagonism ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Results: A Strategy For Modeling Salton Sea Basin Future Climate Scenarios Based On Relationships Between Evapotranspiration And Precipitation A comparison of the averaged weather station datasets versus the historic individual weather station datasets was made for both precipitation and Eto. The averaged monthly dataset preserved seasonality for both precipitation and Eto as illustrated in the figures. Notably, for the months of February, March, and April, the average monthly precipitation volume was lower than the actual weather station historic data. • 9. The Nature Of God In The Wager By Blaise Pascal In The Wager , Blaise Pascal makes the argument that people are either atheist or theist. Through the use of clever transitional arguments Pascal is able to move from the nature of God to the rational in believing in God, quickly in his paper. By comparing the benefits of theism and atheism, Pascal is able to make the argument that it makes the most rational sense to believe in the existence of a God, because it offers the most rewards and virtually no disadvantages. While some argue the choice of belief, in this paper I address this concern and show that belief can be facilitated easily through the changing of daily habits. Pascal begins his argument by explaining that humans have boundaries and that they are able to know the nature and existence of the finite because they are also finite, and have extensions. Pascal focusses on religion as an extension which allow humans to know of the existence of a God. This is a very clever tactic used by Pascal which allows the reader to see how obscure a concept God is by showing that it is ungraspable. Yet this does not mean that because of religion God must exist, but more that religion shows the presence of God through faith. Furthermore, Pascal writes, If there is a God, He is infinitely incomprehensible, since, having neither parts nor limits, He has no affinity to us. We are then incapable of knowing either what He is or if He is (pg 3). This is an important point in Pascals paper because he is making the sub argument ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gradually traditional perceptions gave way to the preservationists viewpoints which redefined and gradually expanded federal definition of national parks. This was to include areas that may not be extraordinarily scenic but still required environmental protection or allowed recreational access for urban citizens, allowing for expansion and more funding. In 1872, Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming became the first national park to be established by Congress and President Grant with the signing of the Act of Dedication Law. It followed that any national park established subsequently would be measured against Yellowstone s significance in American culture. Within Canadian letters both French and English Canadian literary historians had spent a hundred years unsuccessfully attempting to create a unified narrative to explain the shared story of their origins. This paper will focus primarily on English Canadian literary histories, and the part they played in resolving the problem of creating the nation of Canada. The prohibition of drugs first got its start in the late 1800 s with anti opium laws, focusing on chinese immigrants. This was common with the first anti drug laws. It entirely about scientific based facts on what the effects or risks of the drugs, rather who was associated with the use of the specific drugs. For example, the anti cocaine laws in the early 1900 s were directed at black men, and the anti marijuana laws in the mid 1900 s into the 21st century, directed at Mexican migrants and Mexican Americans. Today, black and latino communities are susceptible to being profiled as heavy drugusing neighborhoods. The 60 s are associated with being the era of experimentation. (Cheryle Moss, 2014) We should all be striving to provide this holistic approach that leaves the patient not only treated competently and completely, but also leaves them feeling as though they understand what has been done, and what needs to be done to improve their health and well being. Smouldering is defined as a self sustaining exothermic reaction in which the heat released by surface oxidation causes pyrolysis of the unaffected fuel adjacent to the reaction zone, which in turn yields a rigid char which will subsequently undergo surface oxidation citep{smith2006springer}. The initiation of furniture fires by weak heat sources, such as, a cigarette or a short circuited wire, and the flaming combustion of biomass occurring in bushfires behind the flaming front are two common examples of smouldering combustion citep{rein2009smouldering}. extcolor{red}{$%$ What are differences among gasification, thermal degradation and smouldering?} % What are differences among gasification, thermal degradation and smouldering? When referring to smouldering, it is important to understand the differences between smouldering and other non flaming reactions which involve external heat flux, such as gasification and thermal decomposition. Gasification and thermal decomposition typically involve little or no oxidation reaction and hence are endothermic; while smouldering involves both endothermic and exothermic reactions citep{ohlemiller2002chapter}. If smouldering reaction is self sustained, then the endothermic reactions are the driving force for the smouldering. Char oxidation is the principle heat source in most of self sustained smouldering; therefore, any material that forms char during thermal decomposition has the potential for ... • 39. Greek Philosopher Xenophanes Xenophanes was a Greek philosopher before the Socratic era whose conception of God was different from other philosophers of his time. Before the evolution of God as a non human entity the ancient Greeks believed that Gods and Goddesses were similar to that of humans and the only distinction was that Gods were immortal and humans were mortal. He challenged openly the concept of divinity proposed by Homer and put forward his ideas of Godthrough his poetic approach. He noticed the corrupt behavior of humans and realized that if human are going to worship any being it must be worthy of such an honor. He argued that ancient Greek Gods of Olympia had experienced downfall similar to humans and thus are not worthy of being worshipped. Xenophanes declared the idea of unity of God. This notion was very unusual for Greek culture and society. He suggested that different poets and writers have induced the idea of multiple Gods in the minds of Greeks. But the character of these Gods was against the very idea of a divine entity. Xenophanes attacked the Greek mythology of his time by defining the unexplained deepness of nature of divinity. He declined to accept the idea that Gods were just like human, they were born, required cloths and are dependant on their body. Discussion There were two angles from which Xenophanes viewed God. One is that Homeric Gods showed behaviors that were quite similar to the behaviors of humans. As per the definition, God had to be someone much greater than ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
