This document provides an introduction to the study of history. It defines history as the study of people and past events, how they are viewed and recorded over time. A historian studies history by answering who, what, when, where, why and how questions about the past. Primary sources that come directly from the time period are most reliable, but also need to be supported by additional evidence due to potential biases or inaccuracies. The document also defines what heritage is, why it is studied, and provides examples of important heritage sites in Namibia that preserve the country's culture and history.
