The study investigates the radiation levels around electric power lines in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, revealing that these levels exceed the International Atomic Energy Agency's health hazard threshold. Measurements taken from various high tension power lines (330kV, 132kV, 33kV, and 0.415kV) showed radiation levels ranging from 0.08 to 0.48 μSv/hr, indicating potential long-term health risks. Conclusions suggest that residents near power lines may experience negative health effects, including headaches and dizziness, due to cumulative exposure over time.
