INTRODUCTION
 It is concept of conversion of sound energy
into electrical energy.
 According to law 3rd law of
thermodynamics mechanical energy could be
converted into electricity.
 It could be used in lightning the street light
using noise pollution.

SOUND ENERGY
 It is a mechanical energy which travels in the form of
wave, mechanical wave that is oscillation of pressure
which need medium to travel.
 Through liquid and gas state
sound is transmitted as
longitudinal wave.
 Whereas through solid
it could be transmitted as
Longitudinal wave and
transverse wave.

DIAPHAGRAM METHOD
 A very thin curtain like diaphagram which will
get fluctuated by the oscillation and pressure
created by sound wave.
 A conductor will be attached to it which will be
placed between the magnetic bar.

LIMITATION
It is efficient only in place where high decibel of
sound is available e.g. nuclear power plant.

HEAT ENERGY INTO ELECTRIC
ENERGY
 Firstly sound energy is converted into heat energy as
sound wave travel by oscillating the particle of medium.
 When sound energy travel through the medium it will
disturbs the particle of medium.
 These disturbance created by sound will be used to
convert it into heat energy.

LIMITATION
This method is less efficient due to more energy
losses taking place while conversion of sound
energy to heat energy and then electric energy.

TRANSDUCER
A electric or electronic device that converts a
signal in one form of energy into another form of
energy.
Piezoelectric transducer is a device which can be
used to convert sound energy into electrical
energy .

PIEZOELECRIC TRANSDUCER
These are transducer its crystals could convert
mechanical strain to electricity.
 When the crystal is deformed by the application of
external stress electric charge appear on the crystal
surfaces.

CIRCUIT FOR PIEZOELCTRICC
SYSTEM
 When the sound energy is applied to piezo
electric materials it creates strain in the crystal
then it reverse it and the strain is converted into
electric energy.

ITS SCOPE
 It could help us to reduce the scarcity of electric
energy .
 Noise pollution in the road would be able to
convert electric energy.
 The noise in runway could be used to produce
electricity.
 The electricity in nuclear power station could
increase.
 The noise pollution in industries could be able
to produce electricity.

CONCLUSION
 As sound has enormous amount energy with it,
it could be used by converting it into electric
energy for various purposes.
 Sound energy is mechanical energy so it can be
converted into electric energy.
 It could solve energy problem .

DEMERITS
 Lots of work to be done in this field.
 Its efficiency is not that good so improvement is
being required.
 It is bit costlier.
 It could not be used in the places where decibel
of sound is very low.

  • 3. INTRODUCTION  It is concept of conversion of sound energy into electrical energy.  According to law 3rd law of thermodynamics mechanical energy could be converted into electricity.  It could be used in lightning the street light using noise pollution. 10 November 2015 3 MAHANT BACHITTAR SINGH COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

HEAT ENERGY INTO ELECTRIC ENERGY  Firstly sound energy is converted into heat energy as sound wave travel by oscillating the particle of medium.  When sound energy travel through the medium it will disturbs the particle of medium.  These disturbance created by sound will be used to convert it into heat energy. 10 November 2015 9 MAHANT BACHITTAR SINGH COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

ITS SCOPE  It could help us to reduce the scarcity of electric energy .  Noise pollution in the road would be able to convert electric energy.  The noise in runway could be used to produce electricity.  The electricity in nuclear power station could increase.  The noise pollution in industries could be able to produce electricity. 10 November 2015 15 MAHANT BACHITTAR SINGH COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

CONCLUSION  As sound has enormous amount energy with it, it could be used by converting it into electric energy for various purposes.  Sound energy is mechanical energy so it can be converted into electric energy.  It could solve energy problem . 10 November 2015 16 MAHANT BACHITTAR SINGH COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
  • 17. DEMERITS  Lots of work to be done in this field.  Its efficiency is not that good so improvement is being required.  It is bit costlier.  It could not be used in the places where decibel of sound is very low. 10 November 2015 17 MAHANT BACHITTAR SINGH COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY
