- How did u feel when you heard the music? When we enter a formal restaurant, you will hear the soothing soft music that brings peace to those who eat here.
- How did you feel when you heard the music? On the other hand, when we attend a bday party, we notice the loud and lively music that excites the visitors
- Which version did you like best? Is it the first, 2nd or the last one? Why?

- That is the importance of the different soft and loud sounds of music .. and this element of music that refers to the loud and soft sound is called Dynamics. The different softness and loudness of sound in a piece of music express the Freedom and emotion that wants to be conveyed to its listener.
- Dynamics help music to convey movement, expression, and emotion. To help us better understand, here is an example.
- Listen to the second movement of Haydn's "Surprise" Symphony, and see how the composer used dynamics to wake up the listeners. Q1. What do you observe about the symphony? Q2. Does the symphony have a loud sound until the ending? Does the symphony have a soft sound? Q3. Why do you think the composer chose that dynamic level for that part of the song? This is because Haydn's use of different dynamics in this symphony and make this symphony a remarkable one. If a song lacks dynamics, it may be drowsy or not attention-grabbing.
- The word dynamics means moving, as opposed to static which means no motion. Through dynamics, a piece of music can create mood, feelings, and emotions. For example:
- Sing the song titled “Sana ngayong pasko” with a monotone voice. it is not pleasant to listen to and we feel bored and drowsy while listening to the example of _________'s singing this is because he did not use dynamics in his singing.
- 1. 2. 3. --Sometimes a piece will have very few dynamics and others will have many changes. 4. In music today we still use Italian terms for musical dynamics, because there were many Italian composers during the periods when these terms became familiar. In playing a musical composition, it is not only rhythm and tone that are important, the right loudness and softness of sound are also an important part of the music.
- Therefore, in a musical composition, there are symbols that express the right loudness and softness in playing it.
- Here are the symbols I am talking about. Let's find out what these dynamic symbols mean.
- When you were in grade 4, we all know that in dynamics P means piano and F means Forte/ When you see this symbol which means piano, in a musical composition, it means, to play it softly. On the other hand, when you see this symbol which means forte, it means to play it loudly.
- Now, lets talk about the dynamics that belong to the soft levels.
- Now let us moved on to the dynamics that belonged to loud levels.
- Now kids, here’s another song that will show us the dynamics that belong to the loud level. An example of this is a german composition that is entitled as Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. It means a little night music by Mozart. This part will be played on the dynamics…. Watch it change from moderately loud to very loud. That’s so easy, isn't it? Now You know the loud dynamics. But apart from these, there are other symbolic dynamics that you must learn.
- This symbol dictates that the corresponding note must be played gradually becoming loud. The symbol, on the other hand, says that the corresponding note must gradually become quieter.
- Whether you are a composer, performer, or listener, dynamics are important in creating a "moving" musical experience. Dynamics are like emojis: they help us communicate feelings and emotions
- In real life, our feelings can be soft (P), loud (F), very soft (PP), very loud (FF), or gradually increasing ( ) or decreasing ( ) in intensity.
- Soft feelings and things that make you feel quiet (a hug, a smile, a memory, teddy bear, contentment, cozy blanket, shyness, fear, sleepiness, wonder, watching clouds, etc.).
- Loud feelings (excitement, fun, jumping, running, scary sounds, anger, etc.)
- Feelings that gradually get louder: like growing from anxious to stark terror, or from minor aggravation to raging fury!
