This document provides an overview of the Grade 1 curriculum for the 2011-2012 school year. It is organized by units of inquiry covering 6 transdisciplinary themes: Who We Are, Where We Are in Place and Time, How We Express Ourselves, How the World Works, Sharing the Planet, and How We Organize Ourselves. Each unit includes the central idea, lines of inquiry, learner profile focus, attitudes, and concepts as well as integration with other subject areas like mathematics, literacy, science, social studies, personal and social education, information literacy, and technology. There are also summaries of the units in each subject area along with examples of assessments, special events, and field trips related to the curriculum.
