Graphic Essay
Composing an essay on the subject of a "Graphic Essay" presents a unique set of challenges, as it
demands a delicate balance between visual elements and textual content. Unlike traditional
essays that primarily rely on written expression, a graphic essay necessitates a fusion of words
and images to effectively convey ideas. This intricate interplay of visuals and text adds an extra
layer of complexity to the writing process.
Crafting a graphic essay requires a keen understanding of visual storytelling, graphic design
principles, and the ability to seamlessly integrate images with written content. Selecting
appropriate visuals to complement the narrative and ensuring they enhance rather than distract
from the text is a nuanced skill. Additionally, one must consider the layout and sequencing of
images to maintain a coherent and engaging flow throughout the essay.
Moreover, the challenge lies in striking the right balance between the visual and textual
components to convey a clear message. It demands a thoughtful approach to ensure that both
aspects align harmoniously, contributing to the overall impact of the essay. Balancing creativity
with academic rigor poses a unique difficulty, as the writer must not only convey information
effectively but also engage the audience through visual aesthetics.
Furthermore, the technical aspect of creating a graphic essay adds another layer of difficulty.
Utilizing graphic design software or traditional artistic mediums requires proficiency, and the
writer must navigate these tools with precision to bring their vision to life.
In conclusion, composing a graphic essay involves a multi-faceted approach, requiring
proficiency in both written and visual communication. It challenges the writer to think beyond
conventional essay structures and delve into the realm of graphic design. Despite its complexity,
successfully executing a graphic essay can be a rewarding endeavor, as it allows for a more
immersive and dynamic storytelling experience.

Why I Want to Attend Western Oregon University Essay
Western Oregon University Western Oregon is a standard 4 year, medium sized
college. It is located in the small, rural town of Monmouth, but only 10 miles from an
urban city. Being primarily residential, Western Oregon brings a certain family vibe,
which they claim you cannot find anywhere else. Many students say that their
favorite part of Western Oregonis the size, since it gave them more one on one time
with their professors. There are a total of eighty three majors. Before financial aid
and any scholarship money are entered the tuition is $8,274 for in state students,
while out of state student s tuition is $21,759. Western Oregon estimated total cost if
you are living on campus is $21,838, if you are off campus the expected total... Show

Examples of the intramural sports they have are normal sports such as basketball,
volleyball, softball, and even flag football; some sports that are not so average are
billiards, walleyball, racquetball, and triathlons. This year at WOU they have a total
of seventeen activities that you can take part in. These activities include campus
ministries, literary magazines, and a television station. As you can imagine the
activities provided at WOU bring in a lot of their students because it is a great
opportunity to get experience for your future job! Western Oregon s retention rate for
part time students is 36%, while their rate for full time students is 72%. This statistic
speaks loudly for the good environment, social community, and classroom
environment! The safe environment of this small liberal arts college brings many
students in to the college. The serious crime rate (per 1000 students per year) is
0.96, the drug or weapon incidents is 5.59, and as you could guess the highest rate
is alcohol encounters at 13.12. Though these statistics might seem high they are
actually very low compared to other colleges. The graduation rate for males is
33%, while the rate for females is 43%. The rate of getting a bachelor s degree
within four years is 16%, but the percentage goes all the way up to 34% after five
years of studies. After studying the ups and downs about this college I found that

Who I Am Today Essay
There s a lot we can learn from the stories of our past if we tell them in such way
that enables us to hear what they really have to say. This holds true with me and
my life. To put it simply, the life I ve lived up to this point has been nothing short
of a beautiful (and bumpy) roller coaster ride! As I have grown up there have been
many factors that have influenced me to take on or do certain things. These things,
plus some of my individual choices, have contributed into what s made me who I
am today. And with that, I m happy to say for this moment in time, I m satisfied
with the person I am and the path I m taking. Growing up as a little girl my life was
ever changing. Although I don t have many recollections of my childhood, I do...

This took her life. Even with that being said, before she passed, I made a promise
to her that I was going to grow up and be a nurse. This is something she would have
wanted for me to do as she knew how much nursing meant to me even at seventeen.
And whenever I was happy, she was happy. All of that, plus the everlasting support
of my mother, has been extremely important in shaping me (and my career
interests) into what they are today. Currently, there are many types of goals I have
for myself that are important to my career. Of the first, I want to stay here at
University of Saint Francis and get my Bachelors in Science of Nursing. I ve
transferred to and from many colleges since being out of high school and I think I
ve finally found my home at USF. This degree would help me obtain a job that is
something I enjoy doing rather than something I m forced to do. Secondly, I would
love to be on the Dean s List every semester. I m not quite sure how this fits in with
my career other than it would be something I can say I did while getting my degree.
Lastly, I plan on sticking with my job at the nursing home in hopes that someday I
can use that as resume builder and gain extra knowledge in things I wouldn t
normally be able to access in a classroom. Who knows, this might lead to further
advancement and even promotion! The results from career assessment fit well with
my understanding on what I want to as a career. The assessment
Data Analysis Methods And Analysis Essay
Data Analysis Methods
1.Summarize the methods used in the study to analyze the data or evidence what
reasoning or rationale are they using to link the evidence or data to the conclusions of
the study?
пЃ¶Population: large U.S. cities defined as more than 200,000 residents and annual
population estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.
пЃ¶Red Light Camera Programs: obtained through news reports and calls to city
police departments or public works department.
пЃ¶Calendar Years: 2004 2008 represented the latest 5 years for fatal crash rates
available of the after study period while 1992 1996 represented the before study
period.
пЃ¶Fatality Analysis Reporting System: data on fatal crashes at intersections with
signal lights extracted for 1992 1996 and 2004 2008.
пЃ¶Poisson Regression Model: examines the relationship of camera enforcement and
other variables with fatal crash rates
2.If the study uses statistical techniques what are the main purposes for using these
techniques?
пЃ¶Poisson Regression Models: accounted for the covariance structure due to
repeated measures because of each independent unit of analysis (city) had
observations (before and after periods). o population density: in thousands of
people per square mile for each study period; for example, the population density
during the before period calculated as the average annual population during 1992
1996 divided by the 1990 land area while the after period is calculated as the average
annual population of 2004 2008
Ebenezer Scrooge Doesnt Know The True Meaning Of
Business
Scrooge is a very rude and rich man. He doesn t know the true meaning of
Christmas or business , but after a few ghostly appearances, he is transformed and
has a new perspective on things. Scrooge doesn t believe in celebrating the holiday
of Christmas because it requires him to spend money when he wants to keep his
money to himself. Ebenezer Scroogedoesn t understand the true meaning of business.
He believes it only is consisting of money. Through Scrooge s development, Dickens
shows that people should make charity their business because people are way more
important than money.
Scrooge s definition of man s business is about gaining money. This impacts his life
because no one likes Scrooge because he only worries about money. For an example,

Thematic Paper on the Gospels The three synoptic gospels are almost indifferent in
relation to the major themes of concern in the bible. The only different gospel book
on how the themes are presented is the book of John. One of the major themes of
concern in the gospel books is about the Kingdom of God which is similarly
referred to as the Kingdom of Heaven . The gospel writers present how the kingdom
of god is like through the stories of Jesus Christ. Statements in the gospels affirm that
the kingdom of god is there with the people, according to Jesus teachings and that the
kingdom of god is also to come again with the second coming of Christ s coming.

Mark addresses his message to the romans. The message in the gospel of mark aims at
encouraging romans who had been subjected to tribulations. Mark underscores the
action of jesus. Mark also identifies jesus as the son of godwho hs come to fulfill
the will of god. Messianic secret is one of the major themes in the gospel of mark.
According to the gospel, jesus secretive nature is revealed. Jesus teaches his
disciples in secret. He performs miracles of healing to many and commands the
healed persons to tell anyone not about their miraculous healings. Jesus even
silences the demons that identify him. The gospel of luke talks about salvation as
the main aspect of inheriting the kingdom of god. The gospel asserts further that
the salvation spreads across the universe and its creatures. The kingdom of god is
purportedly shown to be emanating in the latter heavens and the earth as a whole.
The kingdom of god is shown to have started in the days of jesus ministry which
were impacted by the power of the kingdom of god. The message in the gospel
shows that initially people experienced a radical and transforming process of
salvation. Mark also emphasizes on the death of jesus as it is in the other gospels.
The death of jesus and its significance is seen to be a common theme in all the four
gospels. Mark does the same by focusing on the death and return of jesus in his
second coming to the sinfull generation in place. He suggests
Online Learning Advantages And Disadvantages
Technological evolution has obviously made our lives easier and more efficient.
With that said, it only seems fit that we should utilize online learning in our colleges
and universities. While it may seem fit that we adapt our learning style to keep up
with the technology available to us. The online course is a new phenomenon in
education that allows students to take courses online, or through a computer database
a school might offer. This manner, students can learn at their own rate, and not have
to physically answer to a professor in a typical classroom situation. This innovation
allows students who may have families, or other obligations, to get degrees from
home. However, there is little supervision that would be imparted to the student,...

One main difference is the supreme importance of independent individual
responsibility and organization to the online student. Of course, students in a
classroom also need to be organized and manage their resources well. Students who
ignore or misplace their class requirements and materials and who fail to complete
assignments and attend class regularly will have trouble but they can cover it through
online studying. However, online students must take much more independent
responsibility than students in ground classes if they are to achieve the same level of
learning. Online students must manage the given information, which is often
extensive and for the most part, is written. They must keep their materials clearly
organized, ideally in separate online folders for each class and for each assignment.
They must access the class calendar and make sure to understand and meet every
posted deadline. They must attend online class by regularly posting quality
contributions to the class s collaborative discussions as well as posting their
individual assignments quite a contrast to the classes given by teachers, where
students attend class but are often allowed to remain silent during class meetings all
semester, although arguably, contributing to the discussion is just as important class
as online. It can be difficult for students to understand written material (for a variety
of reasons, including

position of a nurse administrator has a managerial function within a medical setting.
Working on a nursing leadership post requires a strong educational background. The
most widely accepted way to become a nursing administrator is a Master of Science

management or administration (Graduatenursingedu.org, 2016). Moreover, the
unique qualification that is inherent for the nurse administrators is that they can mix

Comparing Bronte s Wuthering Heights and Dickens Coketown
Throughout British Literature, compositions created by honored literary artists
reflect current dominant lifestyles. The differences in prevailing environments are
visible when comparing Emily Bronte s Withering Heights and Charles Dickens
Coketown. Bronte reveals the wild unbinding freedom available though country
living predominate in the late 17th and early 18th century, whereas Dickens explains
the disheartening effects of industrialization, which caused massive urbanization and
numerous negative consequences. Within both works, the authors portrayed the
lifestyles their culture encouraged.

Cramped living quarters with insufficient plumbing, long work days in physically
dangerous facilities, and drinking water filled with industrial pollution were a few
of the daily obstacles each city dweller at that time had to endure (Longman 1791).
Dickens, like Bronte, wrote of his time and portrayed the environment he
experienced daily. The city Dickens wrote of in his work, Manchester, was so named
because of the coal residue that blackened it (Longman 1827).
Where Bronte characterized emotions through the weather Dickens used the
destruction of nature to describe the concerns and frustration of modernism. As
opposed to the comfortable and leisurely lifestyle of Withering Heights, Dickens
states You saw nothing in Coketown but what was severely workful (Longman
1829). This statement inferred to my subconscious the images of women and
children working tirelessly in factories. This role of women was much different
from that of Bronte s time. His descriptions invoked a worrisome and dreadful
feeling upon me; he must have felt similarly. Dickens describes a black canal
#8230; and a river that ran purple with ill smelling dye, and vast piles of building
full of windows where there was a rattling and trembling all day long, and where the
piston of the steam engine worked monotonously up and down (Longman 1829). I

for this speech to be Dream, Hopes and Plans . In this speech, I would be playing

A dream would give us a sense of direction. A dream would lighten up your future.
Leo Tolstoy has once said, Ideal is the beacon. Without ideal, there is no secure
direction; without direction, there is no life. A dream would motivate you to strive
your best. My dream and objective were clear in my mind when I was working in the
ranch. My dream was my guiding light that guided me through obstacles and brought
me to success.
Why do we need a dream? A dream would make ourselves to become more
independent. When we have a goal, we would not get influenced by the external
environment. We would only work on tasks that would help us achieve our dreams.
When I got married, I had different working experiences in various ranches. But no
matter where I work, I have only thought of owning a farm. Therefore, I have been
toiling away in the ranch and have finally earned the first barrels for opening a farm.
Why do we need a dream? A dream would provoke you with ambition. It would
enlighten you to bring in more goals to enrich your life. A dream would motivate
you to live in a better life. Thomas A Edison has once said, We shall have no better
conditions in the future if we are satisfied with all those which we have at present.
Dream is all about virtual precognition. With dreams, we would be able to shape our
future. During the Great Depression, many people got unemployed. Therefore, I had
the American Dream, a dream of owning a farm. In which now it has been attained,

Advantages and Disadvantages of Smart TV
Advantages
When we say that there is nothing on TV often we mean nothing we can find that
we want to see but this will not be the case with a smart TV. You can watch
YouTube videos or play games and as long as you don t mind others knowing what
you are up to, you can check your e mail and see what your friends are up to by
logging on to your social media account. Netflix and Hula are included so there is
more of an option regarding what to watch. Disadvantages
As with other devices that take you online there are fears surrounding security and
there is a point some of the time. There have been issues, but work is being carried
out to minimize this. In the future it may be the case that Firewalls will cover TVs
as well. There are also fears about theft of date and loss of privacy and most
worryingly the camera and sound equipment getting pictures and recordings of what
is happening in the room. Facial recognition has also been muted as a risk to

Slasher Horror Movies Vs Psychological Horror Movies Horror movies are the

Horror movies scare you and give you thrills; thus, it can be split into categories
because horror movies can be completely each other. Slasher and psychological are
sub genres in horror movies. Both of the genre s goals are to scare you, but they do
it in different ways. To understand the differences, you need a general
understanding of the sub genres. Slasher movies tend to be following around a
masked murderer and a group of people. For instance, Every slasher has a killer. He
s usually male, and his identity is often concealed either by a mask or by creative
lighting and camerawork. (Harris.) Slasher is usually always with the killing of
each person one at a time. On the other side, psychological horror movies tend to
trigger things in your brain to make you scared. For instance, Psychological horror
is a sub genre that focuses on the darker side of the human psyche that s often
repressed. It also explores emotional and psychological vulnerabilities over primal
survival fears, (Lofberg.) Instead of making people jump, psychological horror
movies can make you feel exposed and even start second guessing things. Examples
of slasher movies are Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The Uses Of Tube Feeding
The use of tube feeding is done when a patient is no longer or unable to feed
themselves orally. When tube feeding is required for just a short period of time an
enteral tube feeding can be placed nasally. Incidences that require NG tube feeding
would be prolonged bleeding, facial trauma, upper GI blockage and cancer. The
NG tube catheter tip normally resides inside the stomach or in the small intestine
past the pylorus. The number one complication involved with the use of NG tubal
feeding is incorrect placement. A nurse can inadvertently place an NG catheter into
the lungs, most notably when a patient has little to no gag reflex. As a result
testing for gastric contents, pH or performing a chest x ray are required once an
NG tube has been inserted. Another major complication when using NG tubal
feeding is aspiration within the lungs due to gastric contents enter the trachea and
into the bronchial spaces of the lungs. Keeping the head of the bed elevated greater
than 30 degrees will reduce aspiration at minimum . The use of a gastrostomy or
jejunostomy tube can used for enteral feedings when an NG tube cannot be tolerated
of interferes with therapy. The gastrostomy tube, PEG, tip is placed in the stomach
and exits the body through the left upper quadrant of the abdomen where a bumper
holds it into location. This can only be placed internally by a doctor during an
endoscopy, radiology or surgery. A jejunostomy tube can be placed while in surgery,

suicide. Fun Home, is about the famous cartoonist Alison Bechdel s early childhood
days and through her college days. Fun Home is a pun, as her father work at a
funeral home, which the Alison nicknames Fun Home , but it also parallels her real
home, where the house looks beautiful As she realizes, that she is a lesbian in
college, she does the difficult thing in the 1980s to come out to her parents. However,

Bechdel plays around the expectations of storytelling of Fun Home. That we see,
the child Allison uses vocabulary that an adult would use. We see that Bechdel has
a lot of letters written from her family, especially her father. We see that the
narrator Allison knows this and even play into it, as we see Alison s childhood
journal accounts, we know that child Alison did not talk like a proper adult. That
the narrator is deciphering, what child Alison, was pretending and lying about in
her journal. She even recalls early on, that with her father she I remember most
clearly and partially because bar is lower for fathers than mothers . That she is
acknowledging in her own written work, that her perception might be flawed and
biased. So we as the audience, are trying to decipher what is real and what is a
memory of a memory. She explores the idea of remembering a memory and how
much we can remember and recall the past. She does this, so we know what we are

Jane Eyre
While some have argued that jane Eyre is about class issues I would argue that it s
about the lifestyles of the upper class women and the situations and standard that they
had to face.as women of the victorian era. Much was expected of women at this time
in history. It was somewhat considered strange for a young woman to be independent
in this era.
In the victorian era, the roles of genders took a turn. from women helping out their
husbands with their work and also taking care of domestic affairs to basically
becoming full time housewives to the men they were married to . as the victorian era

until marriage others had to seek another medium of relieving themselves. So many
fo the engaged and married many would resort to using prostitutes. Most major
cities in victorian England had wat you call red light districts where it was not
difficult to find a woman who you could pay for sexual pleasure. These are some
things a woman had to deal with in the victorian era. much like jane had to deal
with many of these same problems. She was sent to a boarding school to learn
how to be a lady. She worked as a governess to teach a girl how to be a lady. She
was expected to find a husband. And like most women in the victorian era, she was
destined to feel a life of emotional torment at the hands of society. Like being
criticized for not having a husband or haveing a love interest who was not very
faithful and played games with her heart. there sis proof of this when in the book
when Rochester meets jane for the first time he asks her what is her tale of woe.
He states that all governance have some sort of tale of sadness to tale. The thing is
most governance were women who were mistreated bu their society and as a
result, they failed to follow its rules and ended up alone and looking for
employment in the only place they could . or should I say the only place that was
accepted for women to work. Witch was in taking care of and teaching a child and

Dating Vs Real Dating Research
Nowadays there is this thing called couple goals, but what people don t always
remember each relationship or hookup is different (Wiest). Most people don t
even know what dating or being in a relationship really is (Borg). If someone is in
a real relationship with real dating then they have survived all odds (Past). People
shouldn t just ignore someone until they get to the point of leaving. They should
just tell them how they feel if they like the other person or don t like them or even
if they just came at a bad time in life (Moeller). Many people dream of the day where
they answer the door to a guy holding flowers or something and ask to go on a date
or something (Past).
One major role on dating is technology. With all the dating
Traditional Terrorists
Terrorists
When I think of the word terrorism, the first thing that pops into my mind is 9/11. A
day I will never forget, as I am sure countless other Americans will not as well. I
never took the time to truly think about a terrorist, what they are thinking, what their
motives are, or whom they are trying to hurt or even why they are terrorist. In doing
this research, I have acquired knowledge about not only the traditional terrorist but
also the cyberterrorist. In some ways these criminals are similar, and the reasons
behinds their actions sometimes overlap, yet they also are different. Although some
people, including myself, could get the two of them confused, they are not the same.
In looking at both a traditional terrorist and a cyberterrorist, a clear definition is not
universal which could account for the reason that some people get them confused or
overlap them. Once cyberterrorism terms are determinable, we would have a clear
view on how to deal with such malicious acts. The only way to avoid that ... Show

The traditional terrorist had to find their followers or incite them to follow them by
means of printed literature. Cyberterrorist hide behind a computer screen, this group

Internet to help commit or assist with the crime, they physically do the damage.
Cyberterrorist destroy their targets as well, they just do through the Internet. One
primary difference between a cyberterrorist and a traditional terrorist is that the
former would have a sophisticated knowledge of hacking and information
technology vulnerabilities or would have the funds to employ people skilled in those
areas (Poremba, 2011). Cyberterrorist are smart individuals, they have the knowledge
or training to be a master at destroying any infrastructure with a few key
Hybrid Automobiles vs. Fuel-efficient Automobiles
Whether for ecological or economic reasons, consumers are feeling a pressing
need to purchase a fuel efficient automobile. However, the array of choices on the
market are staggering. Not only do consumers have the choice between different
brands of automobile manufactures; manufacturers are also offering different
types of fuel efficient cars. Some fuel efficient cars use traditional internal
combustion engines alone; others offer the option to use alternative fuel sources
like diesel and biodiesel; and others yet offer the opportunity to drive a car with an
electric or a hybrid engine. The decision of which fuel efficient car to purchase
depends on several lifestyle factors. Price sensitivity and prestige are issues to be
considered when making the choice between fuel efficient or hybrid car. Concern
for the environment and for reducing dependence on fossil fuel might be an
impetus for choosing hybrid over a fuel efficient traditional car. Moreover, driving
and usage patterns are among the most salient issues impacting the choice between
a standard fuel efficient car versus a hybrid electric car. Generally, standard fuel
efficient automobiles are better for drivers who are price sensitive and who drive
longer distances less often, whereas hybrid electric automobiles will be more
attractive to drivers who commute relatively short distances to work every day. Price,
politics, and driving patterns are the most important points of reference when
comparing a hybrid with a
Craig Morgan Teicher
In the poem To Keep Love Blurry, Mother by Craig Morgan Teicher the speaker is a
spirit who is already dead and wants to let it clear. On line 2,5, 14 the speaker says
You wear my death like a birthmark/ But is my death enough to motor all your days
/ This is you talking to you I m dead. This lets us know that the speakeris someone
who is already dead a spirit . Therefore, Teicher lets us know how he or she feels the
fact of being someone s obsess. For example, in line 12 it says But obsessing over
me I m afraid it keeps you slighter. Throughout this sentence it proves that the speaker
is a spirit talking after the death.
In the theme Teicher Mother poem is that we should not worry about death because
we are dead. At the last few lines in the poem ( Lines 13 and 14) the poet says that

I found some examples of alliteration, assonance, and repetition. An example of
alliteration that I found in the poem is in line 11, it states, so nothing s shocking
there, and you even make some money! The letter that is repeated is the S sound.
Another example of alliteration that I found is in line 3 it says, It s not what I
intended, but I do let it go to my head occasionally . It demonstrates that the sound
of I is being repeated. In the poem To Keep Love Blurry, Mother by craig Morgan
Teicher there are two examples of assonance the first one is in line 1 and 2 where it
shares the ea sound. In line 1 it states, I m dead I m dead I m dead, I m dead and in
line 2 it states, You wear my death like a birthmark . The next example is in line 9
where the ou sound is repeated, it states, a little man for yourself, and you re funny .
And my last example is repetition in line 2 where it states, so so many times the

How Art Improves Our Lives
Art is a deliberate recreation of a new and special reality that grows from one s
response to life. It improves our existence by enhancing, changing and perpetuating
our cultural composition. The great artist knows how to impose their particular
illusion on the rest of mankind, proclaimed Guy de Mauspassant. Art improves our
lives by directly and indirectly lift the morale of individuals, creating unity and
social solidarity. Art creates awareness of social issues. Art may express and reflect
the religious, political, and economical aspects of cultures. Art is and can be what
ever a culture says it is or what ever they want it to be. It involves all people, those
who conceive the idea of the work, execute it, provide necessary equipment... Show

Students must be taught to understand the principles of art as they are understood by
the cultural group in which they belong in order to truly achieve global awareness
and appreciation for art. Obviously, teachers must gain this awareness themselves
before they can impart it to their students. Travel, physically or intellectually, is
necessary for teachers who truly aspire to instill a devotion to open mindedness and
tolerance in their students. Furthermore, teachers themselves must be open to
teaching about culturally diverse art, and learning the history and meaning of behind
such pieces. As teachers, we must constantly be open to expanding our base of
knowledge and learning new information to share with our students. It is important to
note that teaching art requires more than just looking at pictures, listening to music or
watching a dance. To teach art in a truly meaningful way, principles of art history,
production, criticism and aesthetics must be explored. Students must be taught to
value not only the beauty of art, but also the meaning, elements and the history of art.
Students do not naturally look at a painting and know the principles contained in it,
who created it and for what purpose. Students must learn how to view and critique art
in order to understand it. This understanding can come from being immersed in an
environment in which art is an essential component to learning. If art is integrated
throughout the curriculum,
The Role Of The Spirit In The Ministry Of Jesus Christ
The role of the Spirit in the ministry of Jesus in the Gospel
The Spirit of God plays significant role in person Jesus Christ from conception to
resurrection. He is the one who speaks about the coming messiah before as well. In
this paper we will analyse the role of the Spirit in the ministry of Jesus Christ
especially in the Gospels. For our study we divide the Gospels in two parts: the
Synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) and Johannine.
I.The role of the Spirit in the ministry of Jesus in the Synoptic Gospels.
The synoptic Gospels describe more similar events about the role of Spirit in the
ministry of Jesus Christ. The Pnumatological emphasis of these gospels in the life
and ministry of Jesus Christ is the major theme. They both generally allude from the

As we analyse the gospel of Luke, it immersed with the significance of Holy Spirit
role in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ more than others. As Matthew recorded:
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to
be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child
through the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18).
The Spirit is the one who enabled Marry to miraculously conceive as it s told in
prophecy. The Same Spirit is enabled some poise people at a time to announce the
birth by giving the spirit to prophecy (Luke 1: 42 45). As it recorded Simon moved
by the Spirit , and found the infant Jesus, the Christ, with his parents in the temple
and identified Him as God s salvation; no one can do without the work and pointing
of Holy Spirit (Luke 2: 25 32). In addition Anna, the prophetess, presumably moved
by the Spirit recognized the baby Messiah (Luke 2: 36 38).
Moreover; especially Luke describes how the Spirit has significant role in Jesus s
growth.

The Use Of Sexual Gratification On College Campuses
Hookups are a type of brief sexual relationship that typically occur on only one
occasion between two people who are usually strangers or have briefly become
acquainted (Paul, McManus Hayes, 2000). Hooking up may be considered to be
the contemporary term for the older phrase one night stand which also implies a no
strings attached interlude. In this sort of association, sexual gratification can be the
primary goal, with companionship being a distant consideration. This variety of
alliance can certainly involve both heterosexual and homosexual couples and can
be facilitated through friends or like minded individuals. According to one study,
this casual and non committal sexual encounter based form of interaction now
finds itself as the predominating heterosexual relationship on college campuses
(Stinson, 2010). It may be easy to see why this is the case as the lifestyles of
students are busy ones and often little time is available to devote to what is
necessary to maintain a more serious involvement. Friends with Benefits Friends
with benefits relationships are generally considered to be a relationship that occurs
between friends of the opposite sex who participate in sexual practices but view their
bond as being non romantic (Hughes, Morrison, Asada, 2007). However, there is no
reason to believe that this type of strictly platonic relationship cannot have its
equivalent parallel with members of the same sex. There are advantages to this type
of arrangement that are

Such practice contributes to prosperity of inertia and conservatism. Another negative
effect of ritualization is that there is much attention to external protocol aspects of
ritual. Of course, ceremonity during official events is not an element of only Korean
culture, however, it is quite noticeable that Korean pay a lot of attention to such kind
of elements. The combination of hierarchy and formalism generates a developed
system of many conventional symbols that indicate to which particular system and
status a certain person belongs. For many Korean schools, institutions and even
private firms it is normal to have uniforms as a special form of belongingness. The
combination of formalism and authoritarianism puts very strict requirements towards
appearance of employees and lifestyle making it more
Psycho, By Alfred Hitchcock
We all go a little mad sometimes, and that could possibly be exactly how many feel
after watching Psycho, released in 1960, and directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
Hitchcock took a different route in terms of plot and structure for the typical
Hollywood style. Psycho, like a young child never stops asking questions, it leaves
us in a state of doubt and unbelief. It is classic horror, with the numerous jump
scares leaving us at the edge of our seat, as every moment passes. Yet in the
beginning, it s seems to portray a rather classic form in a sense, a near Aristotelian
story. A woman who appears to be the main character in love, who is then faced with
a problem, not enough money to marry her love, who then steals money to help build
a future... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Let s get this clear about the only certainty that was in Psycho, was the first couple
seconds of the movie when it displayed the location and the date. Everything else
known to be true later on ended in a twist. For example, take the cover of Psycho, at
first glance many may assume that Marian Crane, the woman on the cover, is
ultimately the main character, the protagonist, the hero. If the cover didn t help out
the opening scene was revealed two characters a man (Sam) and a woman
(Marian) who appear to be in love. We have identified the main character Marian
and we have identified the problem or goal a protagonist must achieve in a movie,
obtain money so Marian and Sam can get married. Then we see Marian at work,
where a rude, self pleasing, arrogant, rich man enters bargaining about himself and
his daughter s wedding. Marian is then presented with a task deliver the money to
the bank. Hitchcock has successfully set the bait and hooked the audience into
backing Marian in any decision. She s doing it for love right, and the jerk has plenty
of money anyway. After watching the entire movie I began to realize the true
brilliance of Alfred Hitchcock, because, of course everyone loves a hero good, let s
kill her 40 minutes into the movie and this is where things became interesting the
structure of the film. Doubt begins to creep into the minds of the
Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood
The Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood
The Muslim Brotherhood is the largest Islamist organization in Egypt. It was
founded in the 1920s by Hassan Al Banna. The movement was a model of political
activism combined with Islamic charity work. At first, it only aimed to spread
Islamic morals, but soon became involved in politics. While the Muslim Brotherhood
claims that it supports democratic principles, it aims to create a state ruled by Al
Shariaa. Al Shariaa is the Islamic law stated in the Quran. The Brotherhood s
mostly used slogan is Islam is the solution , and it is known worldwide. It officially
opposes violence to achieve goals; however, some of the movement s members were

The movement is currently seeking to avoid full authority. It is, however, focusing
on the longer term. The Brotherhood is aiming for a leading role in the process of
writing a new constitution. Indeed, it is not clear if the old strategies of the Muslim
Brotherhood will guide their actions through the coming days (Brown). Another
cause to the success of the Muslim Brotherhood is that its offices acted as social
service agencies. During winter people used to drop in asking for blankets, which
the party handed them out along with their brochures. They as well helped several
people in paying their medical bills (Kristof).
According to interviews I have conducted with different Freedom and Justice Party s
supporters, I have discovered some of the reasons why they voted for them in the
elections. Some people believe that Islam is the only solution for building a new,
better and safer Egypt after the 25th of January revolution. They believe that if the
candidates are God fearing and obeying they won t be corrupt. Another reason is
that some members of the Freedom and Justice Party offered financial help for
those who would vote for them. Most of the people I interviewed were from a low
social standard; therefore, they were in need of this help. In fact, the Muslim
Brotherhood exploited poor people to gain more votes. That is mostly how they
attempted to win most of

Ruth Character Analysis
Ruth: A Woman of Noble Character
Ruth is one of the women favored by God to have her own book in the Bible. She
is a woman that has given inspiration to millions of women and men alike in the
world. In this paper I will be highlighting Ruth s characteristics of faith, obedience,
loyalty, humility and love that led her transformation to follow a true and living God.
Secondly, I will be examining Ruth s redemption through Boaz in contrast with Jesus
redemption for sinners dying on the cross. Thirdly, how she became to be the great
grandmother to King David a kingdom connection to the savior of the world.

Haugh, depicts the characters in Ruth to have a swirl of characteristics that range
from openness to prejudice and from altruism to selfishness. He thinks, the most
likely reason for this story is to challenge the conventional understanding of how to
treat outsiders. Consequently, without each character s pursuit of his or her self
interest, the story would not work at all. Without Naomi s decision to return home,
without Ruth committing to Naomi, without Ruth s hunger and decision to look for
food, without the dangerous scheme that connects Ruth to Boaz, without Boaz s
desire for Ruth without all of those self interested acts, we would never get the
subversive message that speaks of justice for all of God s community, including those
who are typically excluded. (Haugh,
Translation As An Easy Task Essay
Taduttore Traditore
Translation is often portrayed as being an easy task, a simple transfer of words and
sentences from a language to another. Because some people are bilingual or polyglots
it doesn t mean they can be translators. Translation is a very hard and difficult task to
accomplish. In this essay, the focus will be on the maxim Taduttore Traditore (from
the Italian to translate is to betray ), trying to understand and analyse its meanings
and implications. And then, try to consider whether it is or not an accurate statement
regarding translation work.
According to the Bible, before the Tower of Babel, everyone spoke one language. Yet
because mankind decided to build a tower that would reach the Heavens, God
punished his people by making them speak different languages and by splitting them
into different parts of the world. That is when translation begins.
At that time, there was no internet, no computers, no automatic translations nor even
bilingual dictionaries. Nowadays, with the growth of the technologies, access to
nearly every kind of information is possible. The translator s task is facilitated
thanks to the many tools that the new technologies can provide such as MA Tools
like Linguee, Reverso, Word Reference, Bab.la and many more. Although they are
not one hundred percent accurate, they are a great assistance for a translator,
especially for a word by word translation. Yet translated expressions or sentences are
still very hard to deal with for a computer
The Strengths Of Weaknesses
We are all full of weakness and errors; let us mutually pardon each other our follies it
is the first law of nature. Voltaire
We have been in so many situations, either you are a young or old man or woman,
but it is always different. In this situation, we saw how we handle our lives. And
when we handle those we always analyze it first and how our ability to solve the
situation. Once we solved it we saw what our capabilities are; our strength that we
admire and the weakness we snub because it s just one of our flaw but is it?
I have many weaknesses and if I evaluate myself, I would think that I have more
weakness than strength. But I think for me my biggest weakness is how I am very in
control of my life that how once I thought this was a good trait came out to be the
one that can break me. Very control in the sense that I do everything that people

The Purpose Of Copyright Laws
The purpose of copyright laws in modern society, as confirmed by Darrell Panethiere
(2005) is to protect the creative rights of authors, performers, publishers,
broadcasters, and many others whose livelihoods depend upon the recognition of
rights (p. 1, par. 1) for their intellectual properties. In the contemporary business
world, most companies that sell products of some kind depend on other firms for the
design, production, and distribution of the product to make it available for selling.
Such sales are often either wholesale to retailers or retail to consumers. Violations of
the copyrights of intellectual property(IP), destroys the chain of commerce reflected
in these different industries; which also includes the loss of employment to workers
in each industry. In short, copyrightlaws protect the motivation of creativity, the
investment of commerce, plus the employment of a labor force.
WHY COPYRIGHT LAWS?
As recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO, n.d.), in the
Protection of Industrial Property (p. 4, par. 2) during the Paris Convention of 1883
as well as in the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (p. 4, par. 2) during the
Berne Convention of 1886, both acknowledges the valuation developed and emerging
societies attribute to intellectual properties. Therefore, the protection of these values
is justified with laws.
Intellectual property is identified as mental conceptions in fixed form which are
perceptible by human

Both epidemiological and experimental studies have shown that indoor air pollution

Conditions such as acute lower respiratory infection, particularly pneumonia in
children, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer and cataract
are the major illnesses associated with or caused by indoor air pollution (World

approximately threefold in adults, and the risk is much higher in women who do the
cooking (Kurmi et al, 2010). Worldwide, indoor air pollution accounts for 2 million
deaths annually
(United Nations Development Programme, 2009) and
2.7% of the loss of disability adjusted life years (DALYs;
World Health Organization, 2002). In developing countries, 44% of these deaths
occur in children, and 60% of the adult deaths occur in women (United
Nations Development Programme, 2009).
Apart from the local health effects, the burning of solid fuels can also have a much
wider impact on the environment. Although
Stalin s The Dominant Leader Of The Soviet Union
How did Stalin come to be the dominant leader of the Soviet Union?
It is undeniable that Stalin had a profound impact on the Soviet Union following
Lenin s death. His rise to power within the Soviet Union has provided historians with
a hotbed of political intrigue for many years. He was an opportunist, coming to
dominance by manipulating party politics and influential figures in the politburo to
eliminate his opposition by recognising and exploiting their weaknesses thus
becoming the dominant leader of the Soviet Union. He was severely underestimated
by other members of the Politburo about his potential within the party, leading to
missed opportunities to ally and stand against him a mistake that Stalin never made.
He gained support from the public by exploiting the idea of the Cult of Lenin in
1924 at Lenin s funeral, and then adopting this concept for himself, thereby likening
himself to Lenin; and, more importantly, gained support from other party members
by following the wishes of Lenin, for example, initially supporting the continuation
of the NEP and supporting the idea of factionalism. This essay will also argue that
he was ideologically flexible as he was able to change his ideas for the party
according to who he needed as an ally, in order to achieve dominant status in the
party. He sought out which individual was the biggest threat, and eliminated them
before they could stand against him.
The events which led to Stalin s rise to power were not simple and it was
The History Of Wine Production
The history of wine production traces back thousands of years, with the earliest
evidence of a wine like drink located in China circa and estimated to be of at 7000
BC. Wine was the center of the agricultural culture of many civilizations like the
Romans, the Phoenicians and the Greeks, who considered winea divine drink of the
gods. Wine remains until today one of the largest components of the agricultural
production in the Western civilization (Appendix 1).
Grapevine is one of the most economically and socially important crops around the
globe. Grapes are used for the production of raising, grape juice, jams and vinegar,
but the main end product is wine. It was estimated in 2005 that 65.7% of the
production of grapes is being used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The past few years however, groups have been trying to address the cultivation
techniques from another perspective; by genetically modifying grapevines.
Realizing the global significance of wine, scientists specializing in plant biology,
viticulture and enology from the major wine producing areas (USA, Australia,
France, Canada, Chile, Italy, Germany, Spain and South Africa) launched the
International Grape Genome Program (IGGP) in the beginning of the century. It
involves a cooperative genome sequence analysis of the species Vitis Vinifera, one of
the most common grapevine species.
The goal of the IGGP is to provide insights into the molecular biology of the species.
Using genetic tools, scientists are attempting to modify specific parts of the Vitis
genome to produce higher quality wine, disease resistant crops and provide a
database for producers to plant the right species with respect to the specific
environment of their production site. According to data collected in 2007, half of the
grape genome has been mapped, which includes more than 22800 nucleotide
sequences and the project is expected to grow even more the next years. The data has
been placed in the public databases of the National Center for Biotechnology
Information (NCBI).

Leading Causes Of Death
After completing the Inventories (1 4) I gain more knowledge about how I feel
about death, and also the United States statistics on dying. I believe that technology
advancements have been a curse and a blessing to make life shorter or longer. Motor
vehicles accidents, heart disease, and homicide are the top leading causes of deathin
today s society. (Kastenbaum, 2012). Technology advancements have contributed to
this increase tremendously. The hydra fish is considered immortal because of its
ability to reproduce endless stem cells (Boehm, 2012). As people get older, more
and more of their stem cells lose the ability to proliferate, (in other words form new
cells). That also means that aging tissues are unable to regenerate, which explains...

Beliefs refer to our worldview. Fatalism is one type of belief feelings provide us
with qualitative information, a status report on our sense of being. It is also
defined as a doctrine that events are fixed in advance so that human beings are
powerless to change them. I am a Nondenominational Christian. I believe in God,
Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I also believe that when we die I spirits will lay to rest
until my Savior s return. I also believe in God, and those who in God follow the
commandments in the best capabilities, and ask for forgiveness when fall short to
the glory of God, will go to a higher element in life (Heaven). My parents are
Muslim. I am in the military and I have personal relationships with people who
have different attitudes and beliefs about religion life in general. I do not like to
think about death. Reality is death is the only guarantee in life. Thinking about my
own old age I want to die peacefully, and be satisfied with the things that I have
accomplished in life. Considering Heaven peace and happiness, sometimes I think
why we look at death to be a bad thing. The bible states that death is a celebration of
a person transitioning from a savage world to Heaven. I fear the unknowing the
most. My attitudes about life is to pray through good times and bad times, and I will
prosper and overcome every aspect and obstacles in

  • 1. Graphic Essay Composing an essay on the subject of a "Graphic Essay" presents a unique set of challenges, as it demands a delicate balance between visual elements and textual content. Unlike traditional essays that primarily rely on written expression, a graphic essay necessitates a fusion of words and images to effectively convey ideas. This intricate interplay of visuals and text adds an extra layer of complexity to the writing process. Crafting a graphic essay requires a keen understanding of visual storytelling, graphic design principles, and the ability to seamlessly integrate images with written content. Selecting appropriate visuals to complement the narrative and ensuring they enhance rather than distract from the text is a nuanced skill. Additionally, one must consider the layout and sequencing of images to maintain a coherent and engaging flow throughout the essay. Moreover, the challenge lies in striking the right balance between the visual and textual components to convey a clear message. It demands a thoughtful approach to ensure that both aspects align harmoniously, contributing to the overall impact of the essay. Balancing creativity with academic rigor poses a unique difficulty, as the writer must not only convey information effectively but also engage the audience through visual aesthetics. Furthermore, the technical aspect of creating a graphic essay adds another layer of difficulty. Utilizing graphic design software or traditional artistic mediums requires proficiency, and the writer must navigate these tools with precision to bring their vision to life. In conclusion, composing a graphic essay involves a multi-faceted approach, requiring proficiency in both written and visual communication. It challenges the writer to think beyond conventional essay structures and delve into the realm of graphic design. • 2. Why I Want to Attend Western Oregon University Essay Western Oregon University Western Oregon is a standard 4 year, medium sized college. It is located in the small, rural town of Monmouth, but only 10 miles from an urban city. Being primarily residential, Western Oregon brings a certain family vibe, which they claim you cannot find anywhere else. Many students say that their favorite part of Western Oregonis the size, since it gave them more one on one time with their professors. There are a total of eighty three majors. Before financial aid and any scholarship money are entered the tuition is $8,274 for in state students, while out of state student s tuition is $21,759. Western Oregon estimated total cost if you are living on campus is $21,838, if you are off campus the expected total... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Examples of the intramural sports they have are normal sports such as basketball, volleyball, softball, and even flag football; some sports that are not so average are billiards, walleyball, racquetball, and triathlons. This year at WOU they have a total of seventeen activities that you can take part in. These activities include campus ministries, literary magazines, and a television station. As you can imagine the activities provided at WOU bring in a lot of their students because it is a great opportunity to get experience for your future job! Western Oregon s retention rate for part time students is 36%, while their rate for full time students is 72%. This statistic speaks loudly for the good environment, social community, and classroom environment! The safe environment of this small liberal arts college brings many students in to the college. The serious crime rate (per 1000 students per year) is 0.96, the drug or weapon incidents is 5.59, and as you could guess the highest rate is alcohol encounters at 13.12. Though these statistics might seem high they are actually very low compared to other colleges. The graduation rate for males is 33%, while the rate for females is 43%. The rate of getting a bachelor s degree within four years is 16%, but the percentage goes all the way up to 34% after five years of studies. After studying the ups and downs about this college I found that there are
  • 3. Who I Am Today Essay There s a lot we can learn from the stories of our past if we tell them in such way that enables us to hear what they really have to say. This holds true with me and my life. To put it simply, the life I ve lived up to this point has been nothing short of a beautiful (and bumpy) roller coaster ride! As I have grown up there have been many factors that have influenced me to take on or do certain things. These things, plus some of my individual choices, have contributed into what s made me who I am today. And with that, I m happy to say for this moment in time, I m satisfied with the person I am and the path I m taking. Growing up as a little girl my life was ever changing. Although I don t have many recollections of my childhood, I do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This took her life. Even with that being said, before she passed, I made a promise to her that I was going to grow up and be a nurse. This is something she would have wanted for me to do as she knew how much nursing meant to me even at seventeen. And whenever I was happy, she was happy. All of that, plus the everlasting support of my mother, has been extremely important in shaping me (and my career interests) into what they are today. Currently, there are many types of goals I have for myself that are important to my career. Of the first, I want to stay here at University of Saint Francis and get my Bachelors in Science of Nursing. I ve transferred to and from many colleges since being out of high school and I think I ve finally found my home at USF. This degree would help me obtain a job that is something I enjoy doing rather than something I m forced to do. Secondly, I would love to be on the Dean s List every semester. I m not quite sure how this fits in with my career other than it would be something I can say I did while getting my degree. Lastly, I plan on sticking with my job at the nursing home in hopes that someday I can use that as resume builder and gain extra knowledge in things I wouldn t normally be able to access in a classroom. Who knows, this might lead to further advancement and even promotion! The results from career assessment fit well with my understanding on what I want to as a career. The assessment

The city Dickens wrote of in his work, Manchester, was so named because of the coal residue that blackened it (Longman 1827). Where Bronte characterized emotions through the weather Dickens used the destruction of nature to describe the concerns and frustration of modernism. As opposed to the comfortable and leisurely lifestyle of Withering Heights, Dickens states You saw nothing in Coketown but what was severely workful (Longman 1829). It improves our existence by enhancing, changing and perpetuating our cultural composition. Art improves our lives by directly and indirectly lift the morale of individuals, creating unity and social solidarity. Art creates awareness of social issues. Students must be taught to understand the principles of art as they are understood by the cultural group in which they belong in order to truly achieve global awareness and appreciation for art. Obviously, teachers must gain this awareness themselves before they can impart it to their students. Travel, physically or intellectually, is necessary for teachers who truly aspire to instill a devotion to open mindedness and tolerance in their students. Furthermore, teachers themselves must be open to teaching about culturally diverse art, and learning the history and meaning of behind such pieces. As teachers, we must constantly be open to expanding our base of knowledge and learning new information to share with our students. It is important to note that teaching art requires more than just looking at pictures, listening to music or watching a dance. To teach art in a truly meaningful way, principles of art history, production, criticism and aesthetics must be explored. Students must be taught to value not only the beauty of art, but also the meaning, elements and the history of art. Students do not naturally look at a painting and know the principles contained in it, who created it and for what purpose. Students must learn how to view and critique art in order to understand it. This understanding can come from being immersed in an environment in which art is an essential component to learning. If art is integrated throughout the curriculum,

  • 29. The Use Of Sexual Gratification On College Campuses Hookups are a type of brief sexual relationship that typically occur on only one occasion between two people who are usually strangers or have briefly become acquainted (Paul, McManus Hayes, 2000). Hooking up may be considered to be the contemporary term for the older phrase one night stand which also implies a no strings attached interlude. In this sort of association, sexual gratification can be the primary goal, with companionship being a distant consideration. This variety of alliance can certainly involve both heterosexual and homosexual couples and can be facilitated through friends or like minded individuals. According to one study, this casual and non committal sexual encounter based form of interaction now finds itself as the predominating heterosexual relationship on college campuses (Stinson, 2010). It may be easy to see why this is the case as the lifestyles of students are busy ones and often little time is available to devote to what is necessary to maintain a more serious involvement. Friends with Benefits Friends with benefits relationships are generally considered to be a relationship that occurs between friends of the opposite sex who participate in sexual practices but view their bond as being non romantic (Hughes, Morrison, Asada, 2007). However, there is no reason to believe that this type of strictly platonic relationship cannot have its equivalent parallel with members of the same sex. There are advantages to this type of arrangement that are

Hitchcock took a different route in terms of plot and structure for the typical Hollywood style. Psycho, like a young child never stops asking questions, it leaves us in a state of doubt and unbelief. It is classic horror, with the numerous jump scares leaving us at the edge of our seat, as every moment passes. Yet in the beginning, it s seems to portray a rather classic form in a sense, a near Aristotelian story. A woman who appears to be the main character in love, who is then faced with a problem, not enough money to marry her love, who then steals money to help build a future... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let s get this clear about the only certainty that was in Psycho, was the first couple seconds of the movie when it displayed the location and the date. Everything else known to be true later on ended in a twist. For example, take the cover of Psycho, at first glance many may assume that Marian Crane, the woman on the cover, is ultimately the main character, the protagonist, the hero. If the cover didn t help out the opening scene was revealed two characters a man (Sam) and a woman (Marian) who appear to be in love. We have identified the main character Marian and we have identified the problem or goal a protagonist must achieve in a movie, obtain money so Marian and Sam can get married. Then we see Marian at work, where a rude, self pleasing, arrogant, rich man enters bargaining about himself and his daughter s wedding. Marian is then presented with a task deliver the money to the bank. Hitchcock has successfully set the bait and hooked the audience into backing Marian in any decision. She s doing it for love right, and the jerk has plenty of money anyway. After watching the entire movie I began to realize the true brilliance of Alfred Hitchcock, because, of course everyone loves a hero good, let s kill her 40 minutes into the movie and this is where things became interesting the structure of the film. Doubt begins to creep into the minds of the

Another cause to the success of the Muslim Brotherhood is that its offices acted as social service agencies. During winter people used to drop in asking for blankets, which the party handed them out along with their brochures. They as well helped several people in paying their medical bills (Kristof). According to interviews I have conducted with different Freedom and Justice Party s supporters, I have discovered some of the reasons why they voted for them in the elections. Some people believe that Islam is the only solution for building a new, better and safer Egypt after the 25th of January revolution. They believe that if the candidates are God fearing and obeying they won t be corrupt. Another reason is that some members of the Freedom and Justice Party offered financial help for those who would vote for them. Most of the people I interviewed were from a low social standard; therefore, they were in need of this help. In fact, the Muslim Brotherhood exploited poor people to gain more votes. Because some people are bilingual or polyglots it doesn t mean they can be translators. Translation is a very hard and difficult task to accomplish. In this essay, the focus will be on the maxim Taduttore Traditore (from the Italian to translate is to betray ), trying to understand and analyse its meanings and implications. And then, try to consider whether it is or not an accurate statement regarding translation work. According to the Bible, before the Tower of Babel, everyone spoke one language. Yet because mankind decided to build a tower that would reach the Heavens, God punished his people by making them speak different languages and by splitting them into different parts of the world. That is when translation begins. At that time, there was no internet, no computers, no automatic translations nor even bilingual dictionaries. Nowadays, with the growth of the technologies, access to nearly every kind of information is possible. The translator s task is facilitated thanks to the many tools that the new technologies can provide such as MA Tools like Linguee, Reverso, Word Reference, Bab.la and many more. Although they are not one hundred percent accurate, they are a great assistance for a translator, especially for a word by word translation. Yet translated expressions or sentences are still very hard to deal with for a computer

  • 37. The Purpose Of Copyright Laws The purpose of copyright laws in modern society, as confirmed by Darrell Panethiere (2005) is to protect the creative rights of authors, performers, publishers, broadcasters, and many others whose livelihoods depend upon the recognition of rights (p. 1, par. 1) for their intellectual properties. In the contemporary business world, most companies that sell products of some kind depend on other firms for the design, production, and distribution of the product to make it available for selling. Such sales are often either wholesale to retailers or retail to consumers. Violations of the copyrights of intellectual property(IP), destroys the chain of commerce reflected in these different industries; which also includes the loss of employment to workers in each industry. In short, copyrightlaws protect the motivation of creativity, the investment of commerce, plus the employment of a labor force. WHY COPYRIGHT LAWS? As recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO, n.d.), in the Protection of Industrial Property (p. 4, par. 2) during the Paris Convention of 1883 as well as in the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (p. 4, par. 2) during the Berne Convention of 1886, both acknowledges the valuation developed and emerging societies attribute to intellectual properties. Therefore, the protection of these values is justified with laws. Intellectual property is identified as mental conceptions in fixed form which are perceptible by human

  • 41. Stalin s The Dominant Leader Of The Soviet Union How did Stalin come to be the dominant leader of the Soviet Union? It is undeniable that Stalin had a profound impact on the Soviet Union following Lenin s death. His rise to power within the Soviet Union has provided historians with a hotbed of political intrigue for many years. He was an opportunist, coming to dominance by manipulating party politics and influential figures in the politburo to eliminate his opposition by recognising and exploiting their weaknesses thus becoming the dominant leader of the Soviet Union. He was severely underestimated by other members of the Politburo about his potential within the party, leading to missed opportunities to ally and stand against him a mistake that Stalin never made. He gained support from the public by exploiting the idea of the Cult of Lenin in 1924 at Lenin s funeral, and then adopting this concept for himself, thereby likening himself to Lenin; and, more importantly, gained support from other party members by following the wishes of Lenin, for example, initially supporting the continuation of the NEP and supporting the idea of factionalism. This essay will also argue that he was ideologically flexible as he was able to change his ideas for the party according to who he needed as an ally, in order to achieve dominant status in the party. He sought out which individual was the biggest threat, and eliminated them before they could stand against him. The events which led to Stalin s rise to power were not simple and it was
