As a child, I always struggled in the area reading and writing. I was in the first

were in my class, they all seemed to thrive more and more each day in the subject.
I didn t, and nothing the teacher was doing with the subject would stick with me
nor did it make me understand better. I felt out of place and different from
everyone else in class because I couldn t do what seemed to be easy for the rest of
them. Struggling wasn t an option for me, I was determined to find a way to catch up
with all the others. I wanted to excel and understand reading and writingclearly
because I realized that this was very important to have for myself later in the
future. By my determination then I changed the way I see reading and writing
now. During my first year of elementary school, I came to realize that reading and
writing were a challenge for me. Understanding how these skills were was making

Safety Board (DSB) and the Trilateral Contact Group. The purpose of this report is
to provide the reader with a clear view of the events that unfolded during and after

consequences on the industry. All the information presented has been collected
through credible sources, including news archives, ICAO and government
publications. First, the crash will be outlined with all major details known at this

March 29, 1998 was just another typical day for headline news in Sioux Falls. The
Argus Leader was filled with your everyday politics, sports, entertainment, weather,
and life news. Eight inmates serving life sentence in the South Dakota State
Penitentiary met to discuss better living conditions for all prisoners (Steen). On a
more positive note, the annual Sioux Empire water festival was held at the
University of Sioux Falls. Around 2,200 fourth graders, from surrounding
communities, gather to learn more about the abundance of their natural resources,
and how to preserve them. Thirty booths were set up at the site displaying how to
make snow, how to snorkel, and how to make bubbles the size of humans (Olson).
As far as youth sports, nothing was more popular than the tri state basketball
tournament held every year in Sioux Falls. The event attracted over 2,900 athletes

Growing up, children were most likely told to always finish all the food on their
plates because somewhere else in the world, another child was starving. Most kids
never really understand how serious the matter actually is and it is expected for
adults to know better but here we are in 2016 where roughly one third of food
produced is wasted every year. The problem with this is that about 21,000 people die
per day from starvation, but where is that food they need to live? It s rotting in the
fridge, it s being used for contests to see who can eat the fastest, or it s simply been
thrown away because the sun has gone down and people refuse to buy it the
following day if it s not new. What s even more depressing is that most starvation
deaths are of children.
The first problem here is poverty. How can someone work when they re so hungry
and sick? How can someone get a job they re too sick to work? It s bad enough that
a child would die of starvation, but if the father or mother dies of starvation, then
the whole family could die too due to the fact that there s no one to go to work. Not
many people step up to help the hungry child because they have their own family to
think about. This isn t to say that no one notices starving countries because it s more
than likely that everyone has seen the commercials on tv of children in different
countries running around while the narrator explains how anyone can help by simply
donating maybe five dollars.
