Spreading awareness on taboo menstrual hygiene issue and reaching
essential ‘My- Pads’, clean cloth for this basic..
Road Ahead ..
Work extensively in 8 affected districts of Bihar. Aim to reach over 400 villages.
- Livelihood; launch ‘VAAPSI’ in a big way to boost local employment by
providing agricultural & other livelihood tools to people . 25 local professions
identified . Goonj supported over 20,000 people under this initiative after Kosi
floods of 2008 in Bihar.
- Sujni; Engage women in Purnea & West Champarn to make Sujni (created out
of waste cloth) as a major income generation activity for the women.
- Education; Reach out to over 400 schools & aganwadies to provide basic
support in terms of material and improvement in infrasturcture
- Sanitation & Water; Major focus on these two issues under CFW in hundreds
of villages
- Repair of existing structures & reviving of water channels.
- Menstrual hygiene; Regular awareness sessions around menstrual hygiene.
