• GOONJ, formed in 1999 by Anshu Gupta.
• Initiated over 1500 developmental activities under ‘ Cloth for work’.
• GOONJ started with 67 clothes and now deals with over 3000 tones of material.
• In 2007 it started the 'Not Just a Piece of Cloth' (NJPC) campaign, after the 2004
tsunami.
• In 2009, it joined the Joy of Giving Week, later renamed Daan Utsav.
• In 2011 supported thousands of children under its initiative ‘School to School’ with basic
school material.
• In 2017 it started ‘RAAHAT’ to work on relief & rehabilitation in a series of disasters.

9. ACTIVITIES UNDER TAKEN:
Donated urban school material which acted as motivation to get rural children to school.
Turned massive disaster wastage into resource for development of Gujrat earthquake to
tsunami, Bihar floods, Andra Pradesh floods, UK floods, J & K floods and Chennai floods.
Donated clothes were disinfected, washed, and recycled into over 3.0 million sanitary
pads which were then placed in cotton bags to make sanitary napkins called "My Pads".
Shiped over 70,000 kgs of material a month and had also converted 1,000 tones of used
clothes, household goods and other urban discards into usable resources for the poor.
Annually initiates over 1500 development activities under its flagship initiative Cloth for
work'(CFW): from repairing roads, recharging water ponds, building bamboo bridges to
digging wells.
