The document introduces Helping Society Nepal, an organization established in 2007 to assist those affected by HIV/AIDS in Nepal. It aims to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and provide support services like education, healthcare, counseling, and job training. The organization operates in Kathmandu but plans to expand rural outreach. It has 12 volunteers and successfully organizes awareness campaigns, clinical services, counseling, and support for orphans and victims of disasters. The goal is to offer compassionate care, advocate for equal treatment, and train communities to support those living with HIV/AIDS.
AMOS Health and Hope is a non-profit Christian organization dedicated to improving the health of poor and marginalized rural populations. We use the strategy of community based primary health care to increase health care coverage in areas with limited services. We train lay health workers in rural communities to manage and run their own community clinic, prevent and treat the most common illnesses, and work in community development to address the root causes of poor health such as access to safe water and sanitation.
We currently serve a population of over 13,000 people in 27 communities in four departments in Nicaragua – Boaco, Chinandega, Matagalpa, and the RAAS. We have two medical teams that accompany, supervise and monitor the health work being done in rural communities. We are committed to implementing interventions that are evidence-based, compassionate and empowering for communities.

Introduction of Helping Society Nepal (HIV/AIDS) social NGOs since 9 year
1. INTRODUCTION OF HELPING SOCIETY NEPAL:
Speaking in terms of HIV&AIDS which is a universal concern and has tremendously
effected in our global communities has alarmed the human beings. As such there are
approximately about 75 million people living worldwide with HIV&AIDS, most of them
who are helpless and unenthusiastic. Hence, to assist and pass on the awareness
message in preventing from such diseases, finally, “Helping Society Nepal" was
established in the year 2007 by GANESH Bahadur Gurung, founder Chairperson with
the assisting hands of some infected/affected people, and who he, himself happens also
to be HIV infected. The present movement of this organization mainly working and
focusing in Kathmandu, but in later phase we are planning to reach the rural areas of
Nepal where the people those who are infected/affected do not have access to such
kind of assessment. This organization is registered officially at Kathmandu District
Administration Office, and is affiliated with Social Welfare Council and National
Association of People Living with HIV&AIDS in Nepal (NAP+N), NARCOTIC
Control (under the Ministry of Home Affairs) and District AIDS Coordinating
Committee, Teku Kathmandu (Ministry of Health). In the beginning we felt very
dejected due to not having sound financial set-up; nevertheless, we kept on Moving in
our principles without loosing the courage bearing in mind "where there is a will
there is a way". As a result at present this organization has 12 volunteers
skilled/dedicated, experienced and capable HIV positive team to meet our purpose.
With their dedication and endeavor this organization is running smoothly in its 9 years.

VISION:
This epidemic has been widely understood among the countries in the world and has
taken intensive step in order to educate the literate and illiterate people who do or don’t
understood about HIV&AIDS. Keeping this in view we strive to communicate among
the communities concerned.
MISSION:
Our mission is to organize awareness programs to such besieged youth groups between
the ages of 15 to 25 years who are considered to be vulnerable and irresponsible at this
stage. We believe to bring them the confidence so that they themselves can take part
in such awareness campaign.
Goal:
Goal of the Helping Society Nepal is to offer compassionate care to PLHIV, advocate the
equal treatment provision within hospitals, and train communities to provide a
continuum of care to PLHIV, enabling them to live a productive and dignified life.
OBJECTIVES:
We intend to provide free accommodation, food and useful medicines to the
HIV & AIDS infected persons;
Establish Care and Support Center for HIV & AIDS infected persons, orphans,
widows and elderly homeless people;
Provide free education up to Higher Secondary Level to the children of
infected and affected persons;
Expand its program to other neighboring remote areas within Nepal;
Try to bring the existing alarming situation to average as possible as we can;
Try to raise awareness and protect the natural environment in order to live
their life positively;
Organize to develop their leadership so that they can share the past
experience and knowledge within the community.
Bring awareness and provide reproductive health services to youths, men,
women and children in the remote areas;
Survey and research on HIV & AIDS infected/affected persons;
Awareness and counseling in regard to reproductive health//HIV&AIDS, STI
and DRUG;
Establish relationship with International level social-oriented groups.
METHOD:
HSN facilitates the public involvement in program implementation with equal
participation of men, women and children so that they can bring their positive attitudes
altered. The activities undertaken should not favor any political parties and should be
exclusively for non-party by type.
3. STRATEGY:
a. Sensitization and development of Gender/sex
b. Mobilization for precaution and control of HIV&AIDS, STI and DRUG
c. Research on effected and infected people living in the community
d. Assist the orphans of positive parents
e. Service entrée program for helpless and disabled people
f. Women and children empowerment program
g. Special educational program for the positive children
h. Rehabilitation program for HIV&AIDS infected persons
i. Training on Community Home Based Care (CHBC)
j. Care and support center for HIV/AIDS infected people
k. Skill Development programs for infected and affected people
l. Job opportunity would be given first priority to the positive people and needy
LOCATION:
The main office of HSN is located in Gairidhara, Kathmandu, and has logistics to
implement in the new method of developing awareness among the sex workers and
Drug Addict in the community.
FINANCIAL STATUS:
As mentioned above, the organization is conducting its projects on its own financial
resources, and hence it seems more costly and beyond the capacity to meet the
objectives, therefore we are looking forward to such socially motivated
groups/organizations that can help us financially (partly or fully) to make our endeavor
a success.
