After this session you will be able to use of
Google Class Room.
What is Google Classroom?
• Google Classroom is designed to help teachers
effectively manage document sharing and
provide feedback to their students.
• Google Classroom works side-by-side with
Google Drive.
Google Classroom is NOT…..
•A Learning Management System (LMS)
•A Student Information System (SIS)
•A grade book
•Google Classroom is designed to fit alongside your
existing solutions (i.e. Powerschool, Aeries, Moodle, etc.)
Uses of Google Class Room
• Helps teachers create and collect assignments paperless.
• Includes time-saving features.
• Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and
begin working with just a click.
• Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and
provide direct, real-time feedback and marks from within Classroom.
Accessing Google Classroom
https://classroom.google.com
•If you are on your Google mail page, click the grid by your name in top right
corner to access apps, and scroll down.
•Google Classroom App
How to Create Your Own Class
Click on the Plus sign. by your name and click create class.
Type in your class name and section. Then click create.
Two Ways to Have Students Join
Invite students via e-mail to
join your class. They’ll get
a link to click on.
Students can go to google
classroom and type in the
code for your classroom.
Using the Classroom Code to join:
• Go to Google Classroom.
• Click on the plus sign in the right hand corner.
• Click join class.
• Then type in the
classroom code
and click join.
Parts of your Classroom
• Assignments
• Stream Option, Only teachers can use
this feature.
• Code that you give your students to join
the classroom.
