What Is Sir Gawain Courageous
In most cases, people see that being courageous means feeling fear yet choosing to act as displayed in
the poem Sir Gawain and The Green Knight, the article Emmett Till by Jessica McBirney, and the
novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Nevertheless, other individuals may debate that being
courageous is limited to standing up for what is right, even if they have to stand alone, as shown in the
novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. For instance,
the poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight showed courageous very thoroughly when Sir Gawain was
afraid of playing a gory game but yet chose to act. Sir Gawain stated, I beseech before all here. That

The End Of The Cold War
The end of the Cold War marks more than just the end of the arms race, between the Soviet Union and
the United States, it also marks the weakening of communism. Communism, the greatest enemy to the
west during the Cold War had to be put down at any cost, this meant supporting militaristic
dictatorships that were against communism. The weakening of communism, however, ignited Global
Democratic Revolutions in which the people sought to gain the power back from the government.
These revolutions were mostly centered on the year 1989, and demonstrated the will of the people to
stop the oppression of these dictators or communist parties. The Philippines were no different,
independent organizations such as JAJA and NAMFREL rallied against the militaristic dictatorship of
Ferdinand Marcos. Additionally, the intervention of the church proved to be a powerful uniting tool
for the revolution, in a catholic predominant society. Women played no small role, Corazon Aquino
challenged Marcos politically, and many were involved in public rallies. As a result, the Philippines
peacefully defeated the oppressive rule of Marcos and entered a state of Democratic stability. To bring
about the revolution, it took the combines effort of the Aquino family, individual organizations, the
church, and individual citizens. In 1983 an exiled senator Benigno Aquino returned to the Philippines
in order to oppose Marcos. Sadly, Padriac Kenney wrote that Aquino was assassinated as he stepped
off his plane

Exposure and Behavoiral Therapies
Final Essay
Exposure and Behavioral Therapies
December 12, 2006
In psychotherapy there are many different ways that a therapist can decide how to treat a client. In my
paper I will discuss how Exposure Therapy and Behavioral Therapy work together with a client. I will
focus on the nature of the problem, the process of change, theory in practice, multicultural
considerations, and the types of clients and clinical problems.
The Nature of the Problem: In both Exposure and Behavioral Therapy the main focus is on anxiety.
These anxieties area conditioned response (Prochaska Norcross, 2005, p.238 264). In Exposure
Therapy and Behavioral Therapy the client avoids situation where there will be confrontation or fear
where it could be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Multicultural Considerations: Cultural differences may see exposure therapy as worse than the
disorder (Prochaska Norcross, 2005, p.252). Therapist should show empathy with clients instead of
using terrifying visualization scenes for the client to deal with. In Exposure therapy the therapist s
empathy is used as a more freighting scene. Trauma victims in search of sensitivity, support, and
empowerment are provided more, higher decibel pain. When there is no empathic and caring
relationship between clinician and client, psychotherapy, is not worth doing (Prochaska Norcross,
2005, p. 252). In these therapies the therapist focuses on the behavior or feared stimulus, rather than
deal with feels as much. Feelings of anxiety will be talked about while the client is going through the
process of visualization, and at the end of the visualization to rate where their anxiety is. Strengths
include a collaborative relationship between therapist and client in working toward mutually agreed
upon goals, continual assessment to determine if the techniques are suited to clients unique situation,
assisting clients in learning practical skills, an educational focus, and stress on self management
strategies (Corey. 2005, p.485). With the client and therapist on the same page about how to work
through the anxiety they can determine together would be more productive and helpful for the client.
The therapist also needs to help the client with consequences

Texas History Essay
People and Companies
The infamous Dr Pepper soft drink company originated in Dublin but operations are happening in
Waco. The Waco Dr Pepper Museum features vintage bottles, old delivery trucks, and artifacts of
original dr peppers soft drinks still in great shape. Visitors can read books and literature to learn about
the history of the company. Also, the Tex Mex style of food and traditional hamburgers originated in
Texas while the delicious Snickers candy bars are manufactured at the M M/Mars plant in Woodway, a
suburb southwest of Waco. This facility processes some of the most favorite candies in the world such
as Skittles, Twix, Starburst, and Milky Way. Texas is mostly known for its good ole southern barbecue

Another unique fact about Texas is that both John Wayne and Chuck Norris are official sworn in Texas
Rangers. Actor John Wayne played one in the 1961 western The Comancheros film, and Chuck Norris

Another person who s an important figure to Texas history is General Ignacio Zaragoza who inspired
the Cinco De Mayo celebration. This is where Mexico defeated the French in a battle over territory.
Surprisingly, there are lots of people without high school diplomas in the state contributing to high
poverty rates in certain areas, but there are many minimum wage jobs available which is why many
people travel from other places to Texas for the abundant work opportunities. The Heisman trophy is
named after John Heisman, a Rice University coach. Texas is the home of Dell, HP, NASA, and other

The Great Migration Essay
As the world moved throughout the time of 1890 1945, the United states experienced a myriad of
events that moved it closer to the founding ideals. However, the main ideal, which was supported by
plenty of actions, became evident to be opportunity . Some of the events that brought the United States
closer to the American ideals was the great migration, women in WWII, and African Americans in
WWII. Each of these happenings/positions opened doors to other people allowing them to explore
new possibilities, hence why they support the forward movement to the ideal of opportunity . The
Great Migration was a legendary movement between the years of 1920 and 1970. This could be

Another historical example that began during the beginning of the second world war would be the
Double V Campaign, and the progress that came with it. This is a campaign in which black leaders
called for all citizens to fight against racism by seeking a double victory a victory for democracy at
home and abroad. Therefore, it encouraged thousands of African Americans to line up to join the
armed forces, with the draft of 1940. Originally, many services would not accept blacks. However,
with time, the armed services started to accept more blacks. In 1941, the first black combat unit the
Tuskegee Airmen, who mainly served as bomber escorts. It brought the United States closer to the
ideal of opportunity because it brought opportunities for African Americans that would not have been
approved in the earlier times. This unit proved African Americans to be strong, willing components in
war by having the reputation of skill and courage, and being the only fighter group to never lose a
bomber to enemy planes. If the Double V Campaign was never created, then African Americans
wouldn t ve been willing to go forth towards these new opportunities. Therefore, it is obvious that the
position of African Americans in war and the Double V Campaign brought the united Sates closer to

The triangle shirt waste factory disaster On Saturday, March 5th the work day was ending at the
triangle shirt waste factory when suddenly a fire broke out. In the 30 minutes the fire raged 146
workers aged from 11 to 17 died. Due to the poor conditions of the factory allowed the fire to spread
quickly. Many girls decided to jump rather than burn to death falling 10 floors to their deaths. Many
tried for the emergency exits but they were locked and the emergency hoses had no pressure. When
the fire department arrived two girls had already jumped. They tried to extend latters but they were
two floors short and their hoses could not reach the blaze. They tried to deploy nets to catch the girls
that jumped but the rate in which they came at

Macomber Gender Roles
Nobody truly wants to live alone in their lives, and many pursue marriage to secure those means. The
problem is that the relationship requires more than simply two people coming together. Ultimately
they bring out the darker parts of their nature and the insecurities they hide within. The short story The
Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber by Ernest Hemingway depicts the struggles between people
caused by their weaknesses, yet are built upon the inner workings of gender roles, and how losing
their fears could have let them break away from their cycle. The story starts with the wife, Margot
Macomber, trying to join the men, Francis and Wilson, in conversation but they both quickly kick her
from her wants in the discussion. She leaves in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her only means of empowering herself is by sleeping with Wilson. When she comes that night back he
says to her you think that I ll take anything I know you will, sweet (12) because she feels that she can
at least have power because of his weakness. She knows that she can t get even by doing her acts in
plain sight because that would be disrupting the calm, complacency of a wife s place. She was smart
enough to know that she won t be mistreated without at least standing up for herself. The story seems
to make it clear that American Females have cruelty and that is why men take a domineering role to
ensure they remain respectful . Wilson represents this sort of manly and domineering personality. He
makes sure that he owns the situation when he says to Margot I say, you wouldn t like to drop my
beauty as a topic, would you? and she says I ve just started it and just coyly responds with Let s chuck
it (2). With just that being said it isn t overly disrespectful if he truly didn t want to talk about his
beauty , but she complains about how conversation was difficult and he merely replies saying No

lion , but he doesn t care nor does he care if she doesn t get to talk because that s not what the men
were talking about. Wilson also gets annoyed when Margot cries about being excluded from their
conversation and Wilson tells Francis

Persuasive Essay On Clean Water
A watershed is the area of land where all of the water that falls in it drains off or goes to a common
outlet (USGS, 2016). Unknown to many, a watershed could be as small as a footprint, but also as large
as a lake. The word watershed is interchangeable with drainage basins or catchment (USGS, 2016).
Watersheds are important because it controls the flow of rivers and the water that gets to a certain
place and this is how we get our fresh water. If the watershed is ruined or destroyed, then the price of
water and clean water will then get worse, the prices will become higher to fix damages and the water
could be unsafe to drink. When I say ruined it means that water flow and clean rivers will change path
or dry up. Since the major issue is that the bodies of water emptying into our watershed are polluted,
the plan we have come up with is to make the rivers clean by putting nets up and down the major
rivers in Colorado and collecting garbage. To be specific, a problem faced by our watershed t is the
buildup of plastics and Styrofoam. In fact, out of 50 billion bottles sold every year only 20% are
recycled (Scholtus, 2009). This number is stunning due to the recycling programs we have and all the
proper ways to get rid of plastic water bottles (Scholtus 2009). With the excess amount of plastics and
Styrofoam that end up in our watershed, areas might end up getting clogged and thus changing the
path of a stream. Not to mention, such change in the flow of water is also

The Human Factor of Global Warming
The Human Factor of Global Warming
The Human Factor of Global Warming
Global warming has been a growing concern for many over the last several decades. The effects of
global warming are evident and broad, with historical research dating the first global warming crisis
back 56 million years ago, better known as the Paleocene Eocene Thermal Maximum, or PETM
(Jardine, 2011). Research from the composition of sediments of fossils shells of marine organisms
conclude that carbon dioxide trapped within our atmosphere, increased global temperatures by more
than 5 degrees in just a few thousand years (Jardine, 2011). While global warming may not be in
question, many scientists have questioned the actual global warming effect theory due to ... Show

* While humans might not be solely to blame for global warming, we definitely have a major role.
Most are familiar with the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas) as a major contributor to the
overall C02, although, just as equally important is that of deforestation. It was realized that
conversions of land use, primarily deforestation in the tropics, induce substantial terrestrial carbon
losses to the atmosphere, approximately 1.6 billion tons annually (Broadmeadow, Freer Smith, amp; J.
Lynch, 2007). While the cause of deforestation varies in different regions, the key contributors are
cutting down tree to open up more land for agriculture, urban sprawl (Turk amp; Bensel, 2011).
Forests work like filters to remove CO2 from the air and store it in the trees. When the trees are felled
or burned, huge amounts of CO2 are released into the atmosphere at a rapid pace. Urban Sprawl, a
result of deforestation releases significant amounts of green house gases such as CO2. Not only do
you have carbon dioxide being release from burning or cutting of forests, it is coupled by urban
sprawl. It just so happens one of the effects of urban sprawl is that Concrete production contributes 5
percent of annual anthropogenic global CO2 production, mainly because such vast

Zimbabwe Satire
Satire Reflection
The president of zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe is my main satire target. He was the prime minister of
Zimbabwe since 1980 after Zimbabwe became independent from Britain. He then became president of
Zimbabwe in1987 and still is by using fraud, voter indentation, and violence to silence the people. He
is also the head of state in the world. Zimbabwe has been declining over the years. Currently, 72.3%
percent of the population are under poverty line. Life expectancy in zimbabwe is only 58 and 95
percent of the population is unemployed. Even though the country is near complete ruined he still not
willing to step down.

This past rainy season there has been numerous floods mainly in southern zimbabwe. Since this past
December, 249 people have died and thousands are homeless. Many of the victims are waiting for any
international or government aid. The president has not sent any form of aid to the people or hospitals.
All he has mentioned so far was that it was a National disaster. This is not suspicious as there are still
many victims of 2014 flood who are still homeless and unable to go back to normal life due to not
receiving aids. In the past, Mugabe has given people aid that did not benefit them such as a few bread
and water or a couple of tshirts. I used situational irony, hyperbole, understatement and sarcasm I
exaggerated how useless his aids are by showing how him dancing for them is the same as the aid he
provides. Also the quote, We have said we will never collapse, never ever. We may have our droughts,
our poverty, but as a people, we shall never collapse, never ever. is what he actually said about the
people of zimbabwe, but in reality, the people are collapsing and as time pass the rate of the country
and its people falling is increasing. Emmerson Mnangagwa, the vice president of Zimbabwe wants to
be the president and due to his background it is most certain he does not agree with Robert Mugabe
ideas, but he publicly says he supports the president s corrupt ideas in hopes of getting closer

Tillie Olsen s Yonnondio
In contrast to many other Depression era novels, in which the teamwork of the common man is seen as
society s glue, Tillie Olsen s Yonnondio looks with great admiration at one family s struggle to keep
above water. Through the travails of a coal mining/farming family, Anna Holbrook becomes the one
constant in a society that turns man against himself, and where fortune is evanescent.
The thirst for something stable is evident as the children show their awe of the physical world. As an
adult explains the stars to Mazie, Olsen writes: As his words misted into the night and disappeared,
she scarcely listened‹only the aura over them of timelessness, of vastness, of eternal things that had ...

With his comment, Olsen shows how the two worlds, country and city, are fundamentally separated.
This is further emphasized when the teacher scolds Mazie: Perhaps you indulged in rough play of this
nature where you come from, but we do not permit it here, nor does it go unpunished. (50 1)
The lack of cooperation between men is shown as Jim s young, single work partner quits in protest of
unfair conditions. Jim is keeps his fury silent: Alright for him to talk, alright with nothing more
important to worry about than getting canned up and stepping out a floosieŠhe couldn t see what was
really around and he believed the bull about freedomofopportunityŠand something about pursuit of
happiness. (62) Olsen s condensation of the maxims of our country shows their value as clichés and
their disconnection with the Holbrooks. The proper method living lies with the ants Erina observes:
Watch the little antsŠDont hurt their houses. They have to hurry and work so hard and carry heavy
things and I sees them carry each other sometime. (120)

During pregnancy, there are so many vitamins and minerals your doctor recommends you take that it
can make anyone feel overwhelmed. Luckily for people like me, they ve made these wonderful things
called pre natal vitamins that can make anyone s life easier by not having to track how much of what
you ve taken and when. Pre natal vitamins give you the vitamins and minerals one needs during
pregnancy in order to meet the mother s and the fetus needs and can have added nutrients you may
need because you may not consume enough of a certain nutrient in your diet. One of the nutrients your
pre natal vitamins can contain is choline.

One reasons is that children born with the benefits of choline intake during pregnancy also have
negative side effects. In Choline Baby, Prenatal Choline News and Discussions, Choline During

kids, and states that these choline kids have a higher thresholds for fear, meaning that it takes a lot
more for a choline kid to be afraid of a situation than a non choline kid. The writer states that this is a
positive thing, however because research is now showing that the less fear a child has tends to put him
or her at a higher risk for aggressive behavior, which the writer has states he or she (sex of the writer
is not revealed in the article) has witnessed in his or her children. Additionally, this site refers to a
study, which found that taking 800 milligrams a day during pregnancy does nothing to improve a child
s memory or language. However, the study provided the pregnant mothers with a type of choline, not
the actual choline supplement and only tested the children at 10 and 12 months for language skills,
general development, and long and short term memory, so there were no additional test to test the
theory or any long term follow ups to match the results from the study on pregnant rats previously
mentioned. It must be said, that Cholinebaby.com was the only website I found with something

Essay on The Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights is a list of limitations on the power of the government. Firstly, the Bill of Rights is
successful in assuring the adoption of the Constitution. Secondly, the Bill of Rights did not address
every foreseeable situation. Thirdly, the Bill of Rights has assured the safety of the people of the
nation. Successes, failures, and consequences are what made the Bill of Rights what they are today.
Firstly, the Bill of Rights has guaranteed the adoption of the Constitution. James Madison proposed
the Bill of Rights to the First Federal Congress on June 8, 1789 (Primary Documents 1). The First
Federal Congress then proposed the twelve amendments to the constitution to the state legislatures
(Constitutional Politics in Ohio 1). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An agreement was finally made to create the Bill of Rights to help secure ratification of the
Constitution itself. Secondly, the Bill of Rights did not address every foreseeable situation. One failure
of the Bill of Rights was the first amendment of the original Bill of Rights. The amendment concerned
the number of constituents for each Representative and was never ratified. It said that once the House
has one hundred members, it should not go below one hundred, and once it reached two hundred, it
should not go below two hundred (Mount 1). Another failure was The Anti Title Amendment. This
amendment said that any citizen who accepted or received any title of nobility from a foreign power,
or who accepted without the consent of Congress any gift from a foreign power, by would no longer
be a citizen (Mount 1). Basically, this said that if someone received or accepted something from a
foreign power, that person would no longer be a citizen. The Anti Title Amendment was submitted to
the States in 1810 and was ratified by only twelve states, the last being in 1812 (Mount 1). Thirty eight
states are required to ratify to add an amendment. The Slavery Amendment was another failure of the
Bill of Rights. This amendment was not ratified because the House did not want any amendment to be
made to the Constitution which would authorize or give to Congress the power to abolish or interfere,
within any state, with the domestic institutions thereof, including that of

Strip Searches Persuasive Essay
Strip Searches Should Be Illegal Ontario police officers often search civilians for evidence of a crime
and they employ various methods to do so. However the method of using a strip search has become
outdated and unnecessary in modern society. It is time for the practice of strip searching people to be
stopped by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), even if it is a justified search. The people of Canada
should be protected from these searches as they have the right to privacy and protection from invasive
search practices. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms even has a section on protecting against
unreasonable searches , found in section 7 of the charter. If that is the case, why should the OPP be
allowed to infringe on our rights through strip searches? The fact that in a modern society an illegal
method of searching civilians is still being used is ridiculous. We have the technology to find and use
less invasive methods of searching people that also abide by the law. The strip search, being such an
invasive form of searching someone is humiliating and subjecting people to it should be stopped.
There was a ruling in 2001 by the Supreme Court of Canada, which said that it was humiliating. The
exact quote was Strip searching is inherently humiliating and degrading, the Supreme Court of Canada
ruled in a landmark case 15 years ago, and should only be done when there are reasonable grounds

Egypt Supreme Trial Essay
After death, an Ancient Egyptian s Akh, or complete soul, goes through many tests to prove it
deserves a final resting place in the afterlife. The ultimate trial is the judgement of the heart. It s
verdict determined your existence and whether or not you made it into the peaceful afterlife. This
common belief for Ancient polytheists in Egypt played a huge role in the decisions they made, as a
heart proved heavy in the final judgement would limit your existence furthermore. While a heart that
was found to be light and pure with good deeds would be granted an eternal afterlife. Many gods,
goddesses, and tools were involved with this process, each playing a different and crucial part for this
supreme trial.
The weighing of the heart was a well known belief in Ancient Egypt. Taking place in the hall of Ma at,
the Egyptian soul, also known as the Akh, had it s heart weighed against the feather of truth. If their
heart proved to be lighter than the feather, then it showed a life of worthiness and great deeds.

Extrinsic Motivation And Intrinsic Motivation
Each of the jobs requires a great amount of hard work, dedication, and varying skills and abilities
depending on the tasks they are performing. Each of the different jobs conducted within our charitable
organization include task identity, each worker must complete their specific portion of work from
beginning to end, to then pass it on to the next employee so in the end they are all able to see a
tangible result. Each of the jobs within our charitable ogranization include the first three core job
characteristics, having skill variety, task identity, as well as a high level of task significance.
The five employees working at our charitable agency have the ability to affect the lives of many
families, and even the ability to change people s lives and get them the help that they need. Our
agency has the ability to affect the lives of other people in a positive way, which leads to intrinsic
motivation. Intrinsic motivation occurs when the employees have positive internal feelings that are
generated by doing well, rather than being dependent on external factors like incentive pay or
compliments from the boss, leading to motivation to work effectively.

employees at our charitable agency for the most part have a high level of skill variety, task identity,

wide range of conflicts that people experience in organizations.
Conflicts are usually caused by poor communication, lack of openness and failure to respond to
employee needs. Human Relations View Conflict as the belief that conflict is a natural and inevitable
outcome in any group. While Interactionist View Conflict as the belief that conflict is not only a
positive force in a group but that it is absolutely necessary for a group to perform effectively.

Southern Cone History
Throughout the United States of America the Southern Cone and its history may be an unknown.
However, two countries located in Latin America s Southern Cone have important histories that are
relevant to the America. Argentina and Paraguay are major nations of the southern cone that
participated in an undercover operation called Operation Condor which connects many countries of
the Southern Cone. Argentina is the biggest country of the southern cone and has a unique history with
penguins. The Magellanic penguins call Argentina home. These penguins have an interesting take on
the relationship between the mother and father during a mother penguin s pregnancy. After laying the
eggs the father goes and eats for forty days while the mother sits ... Show more content on

Paraguayans do not have many historical happy times in their past. Their history leading up to
Operation Condor involves three men that led the country to a government based on military
dictatorships. After Jose Francia and Carlos Lopez, two of the first leaders of Paraguay after winning
independence from Spain, Francisco Lopez is in power in 1862 (Resnick). Lopez was interested in not
being a country of isolation and forced everyone to be part of the military unless one was a priest or
could pay the price to not be in the military. While he signs a treaty with Uruguay a war is about to
begin over who is in power in Uruguay. Lopez runs into trouble with bringing Paraguay into the War
of the Triple Alliance. Paraguay falls on the wrong side having to fight against Brazil, Argentina, and
the Colorado Party of Uruguay (Resnick). Paraguayans are forced with two options that both end in
death: not fight and be executed by Lopez or go to war and be killed by Brazilians, Argentinians, or
Uruguayans. Paraguay eventually has to even send their children to fight due to the loss of many
people. After Paraguay loses the war, Brazil takes the country over. The next known leader that
Paraguay has after Brazil leaves is Alfredo Stroessner. This man starts the process of Operation
Condor in 1975 (Resnick). Stroessner becomes leader of Paraguay in 1954 due to his planned military
coup taking over the nation. He was the Commander in Chief of the military in Paraguay controlling
all parts of the military. Stroessner put conditions in place like Argentina with additions including
secret police, censorship, prison camps, torture, no freedom of speech, banning unions, curfew,
dissolving Congress, and suspending the Constitution. His reason for the military coup and the new
conditions put in place in Paraguay was due to the fear of

Brave New World Essay
Brave New World Aldous Huxley s Brave New World is a fictitious story about a future utopian
society where people are mass produced in laboratories. People have no emotions in this world where
drugs and promiscuous sex are greatly encouraged. People are given labels according to their pre natal
intelligence assignment. These different classes all have specific roles within society and nobody is
unhappy with their place. The Brave New World he was a fictitious story that sets up a symbolic
mirror to our world that shows the reader what our world is slowly evolving to.
As young children, the utopians are conditioned to practice certain rituals, to later benefit society as a

There are already certain American cities in which the number of divorces is equal to the number of
marriages (Huxley forward).
Huxley is saying that although our society would like to think that it is sexually stable, there is a lack
of monogamy among the general population.
Another aspect of the Brave New World culture that is symbolically similar to our own culture, is the
very distinct caste system. People of the Brave New
World are born with a specified intelligence level. This level of superiority (or inferiority) is group
into different castes. For example, Alphas are the smart superior individuals, where as the Gammas are
among the lower castes that are mass produced to be almost identical. This is their way of classifying
people according to each individual s biological makeup. Huxley comments on the biological caste
system in his forward, the equivalents of... the scientific caste system [of the Brave New World] are
probably not more than three or four generations away. Looking at our society today, we can see many
ways in which biology determines personal worth. Many of today s highest paying jobs go to those of
biological superiority. Biologically superior supermodels receive millions of dollars because they were
born with a pretty face. Athletes get respect and money for playing sports. Biology helps the football

A Brief Note On The Rio Grande Basin
A Scarcity of Water is Occurring in The Rio Grande Basin.
What is the source that more than six million people rely for drinking water and irrigation? What river
did Will Rodgers describe as the only river I know that is in need of irrigating? It is the Rio Grande.
With the help of hours of research, this paper will discuss some information about The Rio Grande
Basin, why The Rio Grande Basin has been declining and why, the effect that this occurrence has on
the environment as well as the economy, and to sum it all up a few ideas of what can be done to help
the situation. According to International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) (1), The Rio
Grande is the fifth longest river in the United States and among the top twenty in the world. The
watershed of The Rio Grande includes the Rio Bravo. This watershed is located between Mexico and
The US and covers over 1,900 miles. The Rio Grande is a source of drinking water for more than six
million people and is used for irrigation on more than two million acres of land. The increase of
population along both borders increases this number as well as increasing the amount of pollution in
the water. Due to the fact that both The United States and Mexico discharge pollution into this river,
with differing pollution standards, some places throughout The Rio Grande is considered out of the
boundaries for pollution levels, by US standards. The largest factor for the decline of the Rio Grande
is water extraction. A

Lay Magistrates In The Legal System Of England And Wales
LL4181/LL5181 ELSM Second Formative Coursework
Explain and critically consider the use of lay magistrates in the legal system of England and Wales.
Lay magistrates are very important to the legal system in England and wales. Lay magistrate s also
known as Justices of the peace are volunteers in Magistrates courts as judicial officers. There are
21,500 lay magistrates currently in England and wales. Combined with professional magistrates in a
magistrate s court they take up to 95% of cases involving criminal charges . This essay will be
investigating the actual importance of them as well as recommendations on diversifying the bench for
the Lord Chancellor.
Lay magistrates take on a lot of cases in England and wales in magistrate s courts as well as
sentencing on most cases. Magistrate s courts hear cases involving prosecutions of young offenders
and children family cases. Lay magistrates also attend Family cases; this is due to change in 2014,
where these types of hearings will be passed to the Family Court . In general Lay magistrates only
take on minor criminal offences. With the use of lay magistrate s a lot of time is spared to parliament
and higher courts to concentrate on more serious offences within the law as well as problems
concerning the country in general, such as the Scottish referendum. This makes the use of Lay
Magistrates essential in the English legal system.
The recruitment process to become a lay magistrate has not changed much. The applicant will

Alienation As The Reason For Berenger s Resistance
Differing from Kafka, Ionesco uses the theme of alienation as the reason for Berenger s resistance, in
Rhinoceros. Alcoholism is a major cause of his alienation, in Act Three, Berenger considers alcohol as
the reason for his isolation and subsequent inability to transform. When conversing with Dudard, he
says [A]lcohol is good for epidemics. It immunizes you ... Jean never touched alcohol. He just
pretended to. Maybe that s why he... perhaps that explains his attitude (Ionesco 1960: 76). This
insinuates that Berenger understands why he does not transform into rhinoceros, identifying his own
alienation. Only his drinking serves to inoculate him from this epidemic and from the side effect of
this epidemic, the powerful loneliness inherent in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ionesco blamed the world around him for giving him nightmares, thus suggesting that his fiction was
inspired by reality. He went on to say that the very act of denouncing the nightmare may free the
world of them (Lupas 2014: 87). Berenger attempts to actively resist the nightmare of transforming,
but fails, leaving him alone in a world of rhinoceros. Thus, Ionesco represents the rhinoceros as
history s ultimate nightmare.
The relationship between Berenger and Jean is also important in highlighting the protagonist s
alienation. In the opening of the play, Berenger is described as unshaven and hatless, with unkempt
hair and creased clothes; everything about him indicates negligence (Ionesco 1960: 4). He is compared
to the character of Jean, who arrives very fastidiously dressed: brown suit, red tie, stiff collar, brown
hat (4). Jean s appearance sets him as a stereotypical man of the time, contrasting with Berenger, who
is an untidy, alcoholic that cannot conform to social expectations. From the outset we find little in
Berenger s life that would appear to be worth defending (Danner 1979: 209). The absence of hope in
Berenger, at the beginning, immediately alienates him from the rest of the characters. Ionesco s
emphasis on work as a duty to society runs throughout the play. Berenger is consistently late for work
at a publisher s shop. He resists the conformity of punching a time clock (Davies 2002: 646). Berenger
s apathy towards work is what makes him

Transportation And Warehouse Management Essay
Transportation and Warehouse Management
SUMMARY
The report is on how transportation and warehouse management plays a vital role in the supply chain,
different modes of transports that involve in the freight movement from one location to another. The
amount of time to deliver a product to customers will show the effect on company s future, so the
company has to follow some steps to have a better mode of transportation for less cost and delivery
time. The primary objective of this project is to show how the transportation and warehouse
management systems are used to overcome the problems that are faced in transportation and storage
quickly and some of the key elements in WMS and TMS.
Transportation management:
Globalization has increased the importance and role of transportation in supply chain management.
Transportation plays a vital role in increasing the Gross Domestic product. It involves the movement
of the manufactured product from one location to the another location or the customer safely.
Transportation plays a vital role in the supply chain because the probability of using the produced
product on the same site is almost negligible. Now, transportation is one of the primary factors which
can affect the economy of the company when it is not efficient, safe and reliable. Delivering the
products on time directly to the customers has been increasing significantly in these recent years
which can be accomplished only with transportation management, resulting

Southern Colonies Economy Analysis
Out of each colonial region, the southern region was undoubtedly the most significant. Their economy
was the most prosperous, and their social and political aspects set precedents for other colonies and
other people. Other colonies began to be cognizant of the way their economy was run, the things that
happened in society, and the laws that were passed, and gained inspiration. As prosperous and
influential the southern colonies were, there are negative contributions the south made that get
overlooked such as slavery. The southern colonies were economically prosperous, as well as socially
and politically precedential, but their contributions of slavery had a detrimental effect that is still felt
today. In the 16th and 17th centuries the southern colonies had one of the most prosperous economies
in the world. The southern colonies prosperous economy was based on agriculture, cash crops, and
slavery. Out of each colonial group the southern colony had the largest slave population. These slaves
tirelessly worked mainly on cotton, tobacco, grains, and vegetables. Slaves allowed the southern
colonies to acquire wealth without much hard work. The triangle trade along with the indentured

The Gods In Geoffrey Philp s The Cattle Of The Sun God
As the suitors, Odysseus and most of the people in the Greek world could tell you it is a lot better to
have the gods on your side than as your enemy. Odysseus journey home in the Odyssey was a great
example of how the gods can affect your life. One the reasons his journey took so long was because of
the gods intervening. Although without the help of a few gods, he would not have gotten home at all.
In the image, it shows a ship far away from home. It also shows waves that signify Poseidon not
letting Odysseus go home. The image is very good at showing the hopelessness the ship in. Also,
Geoffrey Philp, in his poem The Cattle of the Sun God shows a similar point of the power and what
can happen if the gods are betrayed. In Philip s writing, it shows only how awful the gods can be. It is
about Odysseus s crew making a dumb decision and the gods acting as their own system of Karma. In
the poem, Philip uses the consequences of the mortals mistake to demonstrate the power of the gods.
The mortals in Greek world have learned about how awful it is to have a god as your enemy. In the
Odyssey the main character, Odysseus makes a brutal mistake that got a god to be his enemy. In book
9 after, Odysseus blinds Poseidon s son Polyphemus and tricks him to think his name is nobody. But
after he escapes, he shows hubris and starts to taunt, he mockingly gloats, Cyclops if any man on earth

Solar Walls(Thermal Storage Walls)
According to Architecture 2030, the key to preventing the impending loss of our polar ice caps is to
reduce our use of coal, which is used to generate electricity. Mazria, the founder of Architecture 2030,
recommends we reduce our use of coal first by using passive solar solutions, and then by
supplementing those solutions with active eco friendly technologies to get us to cut emissions.

The installation costs differ according to variations in the construction and detailing of the solar wall,
as well as the exterior glazing and insulated panel materials. Operating costs for solar walls are zero

glare from the direct sunlight to workable levels. Therefore ultra violet damage to goods and
furnishing is avoided. This characteristic of water has significant advantage in commercial buildings.

Water Wall
There has been a lot of research on water walls with the use of water s thermal mass for passively
heating/ cooling the environment. Water is a valuable resource for thermal mass. Storing water and not
benefiting from its heating and cooling abilities is only seeing half the picture. [By David Bainbridge,

A passive system is a non mechanical heating or cooling system. The system will use building
components windows, walls, roofs or floors to capture, store and distribute the energy gained from
various natural processes.
There are two approaches to passive wall systems direct gain and indirect gain.

Crooked Nose Research Paper
Crooked Nose
There are two procedures which are usually involved in the correction of a crooked nose. These
procedures include septoplasty, which is performed to improve or alleviate an airway obstruction, and
rhinoplasty, which is done to improve the external appearance of the nose. These two procedures may
be done individually, or together, depending on the needs and desires of the patient. Then the
physician can, if necessary, surgically realign the nasal septum to improve the air flow, and, if desired
by the patient also improve the cosmetic appearance of the nose.
The surgery, which may take anywhere from one to three hours, is usually performed on an outpatient
basis under local or general anesthesia. A small splint will be attached to the outside of the nose and
should be worn for approximately one week. The final appearance of the nose is not apparent for six
to twelve months because normal healing takes place gradually. Generally, insurance will cover a
procedure to improve or alleviate an airway obstruction, but not a procedure to improve the external
appearance of the nose. For a patient who has both septoplasty ... Show more content on

more and more people openly identified as gay, even in Cairns.

1. Shift marketing research focus
TiVo s market research efforts were put on understanding current clients while it was not clear the
total number of still available clients in the market as well as other important factors regarding buying
behavior were not being considered.
We cannot assume that everyone with a TV enjoys it as much as current clients do and feel the
necessity to record their TV shows. The focus in current clients behavior and the lack of information
about the rest of the market considering client s cultural, social and personal factors does not allow us
to clearly see the potential for this product and more effort must be put on that rather than simple sales
effort.
Furthermore, it should be noticed that the results of the marketing research carried out by TiVo could
be influenced by a set of other biases: non response bias; web users bias; reward bias; questionnaire
length bias and formulation bias (the bi annual survey asks directly about satisfaction , which makes
respondents typically score high).

being settled with plea bargains. In the United States, up to ninety five percent of cases resulting in
felony convictions never reach a jury trial (Frontline, 2004). I for one can fully relate to this, I have
had times in my IT work where even well planned upgrades have totally failed, causing very low
spirits. You just try not to think of all the wasted hours of work. With digital forensics, it would be
much worse. When a case is plea bargained, you would really feel the enormous numbers of hours
expended have been wasted. Lastly, your co workers and managers may not fully comprehend the

Jorge Lima s Ted Talk Speech
The circle of life has continued. Something has died, and now something new must take its place. In
this case, that something is the ancient metaphor of the tree, but what is the something new? Manuel
Lima believes that he has discovered a new metaphor that is on the horizon. In Lima s TED Talk
speech A Visual History of Human Knowledge, Lima discusses the metaphor of the tree of knowledge
and how it connects all things. Lima s primary concern is that this picture is outdated and offers a new
alternative: the network. Lima is correct that the metaphor of the tree is outdated; however, the
network is not a sufficient replacement. The metaphor is lacking in many areas ranging from
showcasing accurate connections to fulfilling the basic purposes of a metaphor. Lima begins his
speech by analyzing the ways humans have been organizing information throughout the centuries. He
discusses the origins of the tree metaphor to describe the wealth of information that was being
discovered at that time and how the metaphor essentially took the world by storm. He provided
examples of the tree in instances ranging from family lineage to Darwin s Tree of Life ; however,
Lima has come to the conclusion that the tree is outdated, and society is begging for a new, more
accurate representation of knowledge and being. He states that nowadays we are really facing new
complex, intricate challenges that cannot be understood by simply employing a simple tree diagram
(Lima). With all

Persuasive Speech About Courage
Courage Do you want to know what the saddest thing in schools today is? Too many kids are being
bullied, and there are too many kids just standing there watching it happen. Most kids just watch
because they re afraid that if they do anything that the bully will target them. I think that if you stand
up and encourage other students, then bullying could be stopped in its tracks. First, what most kids
don t have is the ability to stand up for each other. One way to stop that is to help the victim.Talk to
them if they re getting bullied; have their back. There s only 1 way to stop bullies, and that s having
the courage to stand up and say stop. There is a story about these kids who saw someone getting

about these kids who saw someone getting bullied because they were wearing a pink shirt, so the boys
went and bought a bunch of pink shirts and told everyone to wear pink and the next day the school

Summary Of Weekly Grocery Trip
I was going to name this post weekly grocery trip, but then I realized that most food itemI buy is from
TJ s, so I reworked it. My obsession with Trader Joe s might seem pretty apparent here by now. A
reader asked me what I buy on a weekly basis at the store, and I thought it would be a good post to
share with you. A little bit more about my grocery shopping habit before we get started.... I like to do a
big trip for the week on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I tend to have more time these days to drive, shop
and unload and I don t like feeling rushed during a trip. I always make a list of all the items I need
before hand, which means I take inventory of our fridge, freezer and pantry. Every couple weeks I like
to mix things up, so I ll dive into my Trader Joe s Cookbook or Cravings Cookbook and pick a new
recipe or 2 to try. Once I m in the store, I like to shop the perimeter of the store first. Fruit, veggies,
meat and all the good food that fuels your body is normally stored here. By grabbing the good stuff
first, when I see the pint of frozen ice cream, and look down to a cart already packed, I am more likely
to opt out. I only eat out 1 4 meals a week, and it is usually lunch or dinner on the weekend, so making
sure I have wholesome food is important for a healthy diet. unnamedAlthough my grocery list changes
each week, these are the items that are staples in my cart. Produce 4 bags of spinach. That is a lot of
spinach, but I make a green drink some mornings

Informative Paper on Weight Watchers
The Ideal Diet No one is happy with their body; there is always something that they would like to tone
up or slim down. Americans spend billions of dollars a year on weight loss programs, not to mention
the food that these programs require you to eat. With most of these diets, one cannot continue on with
them because the diet just would not be healthy to do so. It would be amazing for a diet to let you eat
things you eat now, but still lose weight; to be able to go out and enjoy dinner with family and friends
without fearing a diet choice that has already been made. Well, Weight Watchers lets a person do all
this and so much more. Weight Watchers lets a person eat anything that they normally would. When a
person gets weighed at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Weight Watchers was designed so that people can take charge of their lives and their weight without
having to suffer with horrible tasting food or having a constant rumbling stomach. Not only does it
help people lose weight but it helps them be conscious about what they eat and how healthy something
really is. Once they start to see pounds shedding off and their waist size shrinking, they will begin to
eat better and change their life styles. This is not just a diet for when someone is over weight. This is a
diet for a life time. It will continue to help a person achieve and maintain a healthy weight without
having to cut out some of their favorite foods, fattening or not. Weight Watchers has activity points
just like they do regular food point. This also comes with a nifty slider so that when someone goes to
the gym or even goes for a walk, they can calculate how intense it was to how long they participated
in this activity for and gain activity points which give people all the more motivation to get out there
and be active. They can then turn around and trade these points in for food points. In conclusion, this
is by far the best diet program out there. They do not try to put products or medications in your body
that can in the long run be dangerous for you. Even once someone pays for

Spider Man Anthropology
With the recent announcement of Tom Holland having been casted as the MCU s new Spider Man,
many fans
were left wondering how Marvel Studios would tell the story of an iconic superhero known to the
world without sounding repetitive or tiresome.
Marvel revealed they would not do another origin story to fans pleasure because they felt it would be
repetitive at this point. Back in April, Collider had reported that Spider Man would be returning back
to high school which influenced the casting of a younger actor for the franchise. Collider spoke with
Kevin Feige on his decision, with him explaining, We want to play with Spider Man in the high school
years because frankly there ve been five Spider Man films and the amazing thing about it is, even
though there ve been five Spider Man films, there are so many things from the comics that haven t
been done yet. Not just characters or villains or supporting characters, but sides to his character. The
most obvious being the young, doesn t quite fit in kid before his powers, and then the fella that puts on
a mask and swings around and fights bad guys and doesn t shut up, which is something we want to
play with and we re excited about. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

would fill the void that Spider Man played, as it was significant in the storyline. At that time, it was

Bowling Towel Research Paper
If you have a birthday coming up for a friend or family member that just loves to bowl, here are a few
bowling accessories that any expert bowler would enjoy owning. However, before you purchase any
of these presents, do a little investigative work and discover what equipment they already have and
which of these items they have been pinning for.
Grip Tape
Every serious bowler needs grip tape. Bowlers wrap grip tape around their thumb in order to help
them more easily release the ball. Even if your loved on already has some grip tape, they can always
use some more.
Customized Bowling Towel
Bowling balls easily pick up grease and oil from the lanes and from people s hands. In order to ensure

Improvement Of Technology And Its Use Has Been The...
Improvement of technology and its use has been the foundation for American economics. Although
such innovation does create jobs, customs, and cultures that contribute to the American lifestyle, it can
also create pollution that harms the environment and brings about environmental injustice. People
focus on outcome effects of a certain project. Whether its main goal is for economic gains, to help
improve the way American people live, or even if it is harming the ecosystem in any way, they will
intervene. However, what people don t pay attention to is the tool that is being used to accomplish
such goals that can produce complications as it relates to the environment and injustice that comes
with the utilization of technology. This creates a selective exposure mentality in the sense that if the
tool being used has been here before the person was born or even if the tool is used to support daily
activities within the American household and lifestyle, then in no way should it be harmful to humans
or the environment. There must be a different way in which American citizens can identify such
potential dangers so that disaster can be avoided. One approach is to have professionals in the related
field expose such technologies that people believe are helping them but instead are causing damage to
the environment. As a previous low voltage linemen with seven years of experience, alongside my
father who has been a low voltage linemen for twenty plus years, one tool that must be

Comparing The Signalman by Dickens and The Withered Arm by...
Comparing The Signalman by Dickens and The Withered Arm by Hardy The Signalman and The
Withered Arm , are two short stories showing supernatural events. Authors, Dickens, and Hardy
intrigue readers by using certain techniques. These techniques add suspense and mystery to the story,
which makes the reader, want to read further on. The openings in both narratives begin with a short
dialogue. The dialogue in The Signalman begins with the narrator talking to the Signalman: Halloa!
Below there! This throws the readers into action and engages them into the story. It introduces them to
the characters. The setting of the place is one of an eerie atmosphere. It hints that something unnatural

During the introduction to the story, there is also a brief description of the setting. This creates a sense
of direction, as we know the atmosphere of the narrative. Hardy creates ambiguity by leaving
unresolved questions in chapter one. Some of these questions are, who is farmer Lodge s wife, and
why Rhoda Brooks is thin and fading when she is not very old. We as readers, want to find out the
situation to why she is isolated from other employees and why there is no contact between Farmer
Lodge and Rhoda and her son. The author of The Withered Arm creates unresolved questions at the
beginning of the plot because he wants to leave readers guessing future plots. Unresolved questions in
the story make the reader more involved as they too can speculate what events will occur. The author
uses this technique effectively as suspense is added to the story. We are shown dramatic and
unpredictable events. This causes tension and adds to the excitement that occurs when it is read. The
openings of the two short stories are very similar to each other. Both authors write the introductions
expressively to catch the reader s eye. The techniques used make it more intriguing for us to read. The
similar techniques applied to the beginning of the story are adding dialogue, introduction to the main
characters and a short but concise description of the

  • 2. What Is Sir Gawain Courageous In most cases, people see that being courageous means feeling fear yet choosing to act as displayed in the poem Sir Gawain and The Green Knight, the article Emmett Till by Jessica McBirney, and the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Nevertheless, other individuals may debate that being courageous is limited to standing up for what is right, even if they have to stand alone, as shown in the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. For instance, the poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight showed courageous very thoroughly when Sir Gawain was afraid of playing a gory game but yet chose to act. • 3. The End Of The Cold War The end of the Cold War marks more than just the end of the arms race, between the Soviet Union and the United States, it also marks the weakening of communism. Communism, the greatest enemy to the west during the Cold War had to be put down at any cost, this meant supporting militaristic dictatorships that were against communism. The weakening of communism, however, ignited Global Democratic Revolutions in which the people sought to gain the power back from the government. These revolutions were mostly centered on the year 1989, and demonstrated the will of the people to stop the oppression of these dictators or communist parties. The Philippines were no different, independent organizations such as JAJA and NAMFREL rallied against the militaristic dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos. Additionally, the intervention of the church proved to be a powerful uniting tool for the revolution, in a catholic predominant society. Women played no small role, Corazon Aquino challenged Marcos politically, and many were involved in public rallies. As a result, the Philippines peacefully defeated the oppressive rule of Marcos and entered a state of Democratic stability. To bring about the revolution, it took the combines effort of the Aquino family, individual organizations, the church, and individual citizens. In 1983 an exiled senator Benigno Aquino returned to the Philippines in order to oppose Marcos. Sadly, Padriac Kenney wrote that Aquino was assassinated as he stepped off his plane ... • 5. Exposure and Behavoiral Therapies Final Essay Exposure and Behavioral Therapies December 12, 2006 In psychotherapy there are many different ways that a therapist can decide how to treat a client. In my paper I will discuss how Exposure Therapy and Behavioral Therapy work together with a client. I will focus on the nature of the problem, the process of change, theory in practice, multicultural considerations, and the types of clients and clinical problems. The Nature of the Problem: In both Exposure and Behavioral Therapy the main focus is on anxiety. These anxieties area conditioned response (Prochaska Norcross, 2005, p.238 264). In Exposure therapy the therapist s empathy is used as a more freighting scene. Trauma victims in search of sensitivity, support, and empowerment are provided more, higher decibel pain. When there is no empathic and caring relationship between clinician and client, psychotherapy, is not worth doing (Prochaska Norcross, 2005, p. 252). In these therapies the therapist focuses on the behavior or feared stimulus, rather than deal with feels as much. Feelings of anxiety will be talked about while the client is going through the process of visualization, and at the end of the visualization to rate where their anxiety is. Strengths include a collaborative relationship between therapist and client in working toward mutually agreed upon goals, continual assessment to determine if the techniques are suited to clients unique situation, assisting clients in learning practical skills, an educational focus, and stress on self management strategies (Corey. 2005, p.485). • 10. Persuasive Essay On Clean Water A watershed is the area of land where all of the water that falls in it drains off or goes to a common outlet (USGS, 2016). Unknown to many, a watershed could be as small as a footprint, but also as large as a lake. The word watershed is interchangeable with drainage basins or catchment (USGS, 2016). Watersheds are important because it controls the flow of rivers and the water that gets to a certain place and this is how we get our fresh water. If the watershed is ruined or destroyed, then the price of water and clean water will then get worse, the prices will become higher to fix damages and the water could be unsafe to drink. When I say ruined it means that water flow and clean rivers will change path or dry up. Since the major issue is that the bodies of water emptying into our watershed are polluted, the plan we have come up with is to make the rivers clean by putting nets up and down the major rivers in Colorado and collecting garbage. To be specific, a problem faced by our watershed t is the buildup of plastics and Styrofoam. In fact, out of 50 billion bottles sold every year only 20% are recycled (Scholtus, 2009). This number is stunning due to the recycling programs we have and all the proper ways to get rid of plastic water bottles (Scholtus 2009). With the excess amount of plastics and Styrofoam that end up in our watershed, areas might end up getting clogged and thus changing the path of a stream. Not to mention, such change in the flow of water is also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... * While humans might not be solely to blame for global warming, we definitely have a major role. Most are familiar with the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas) as a major contributor to the overall C02, although, just as equally important is that of deforestation. It was realized that conversions of land use, primarily deforestation in the tropics, induce substantial terrestrial carbon losses to the atmosphere, approximately 1.6 billion tons annually (Broadmeadow, Freer Smith, amp; J. Lynch, 2007). While the cause of deforestation varies in different regions, the key contributors are cutting down tree to open up more land for agriculture, urban sprawl (Turk amp; Bensel, 2011). Forests work like filters to remove CO2 from the air and store it in the trees. When the trees are felled or burned, huge amounts of CO2 are released into the atmosphere at a rapid pace. Urban Sprawl, a result of deforestation releases significant amounts of green house gases such as CO2. Not only do you have carbon dioxide being release from burning or cutting of forests, it is coupled by urban sprawl. It just so happens one of the effects of urban sprawl is that Concrete production contributes 5 percent of annual anthropogenic global CO2 production, mainly because such vast ... • 16. Strip Searches Persuasive Essay Strip Searches Should Be Illegal Ontario police officers often search civilians for evidence of a crime and they employ various methods to do so. However the method of using a strip search has become outdated and unnecessary in modern society. It is time for the practice of strip searching people to be stopped by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), even if it is a justified search. The people of Canada should be protected from these searches as they have the right to privacy and protection from invasive search practices. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms even has a section on protecting against unreasonable searches , found in section 7 of the charter. If that is the case, why should the OPP be allowed to infringe on our rights through strip searches? The fact that in a modern society an illegal method of searching civilians is still being used is ridiculous. We have the technology to find and use less invasive methods of searching people that also abide by the law. The strip search, being such an invasive form of searching someone is humiliating and subjecting people to it should be stopped. The ultimate trial is the judgement of the heart. It s verdict determined your existence and whether or not you made it into the peaceful afterlife. Each of the different jobs conducted within our charitable organization include task identity, each worker must complete their specific portion of work from beginning to end, to then pass it on to the next employee so in the end they are all able to see a tangible result. Our agency has the ability to affect the lives of other people in a positive way, which leads to intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation occurs when the employees have positive internal feelings that are generated by doing well, rather than being dependent on external factors like incentive pay or compliments from the boss, leading to motivation to work effectively. Lopez was interested in not being a country of isolation and forced everyone to be part of the military unless one was a priest or could pay the price to not be in the military. While he signs a treaty with Uruguay a war is about to begin over who is in power in Uruguay. Lopez runs into trouble with bringing Paraguay into the War of the Triple Alliance. Paraguay falls on the wrong side having to fight against Brazil, Argentina, and the Colorado Party of Uruguay (Resnick). Paraguayans are forced with two options that both end in death: not fight and be executed by Lopez or go to war and be killed by Brazilians, Argentinians, or Uruguayans. What river did Will Rodgers describe as the only river I know that is in need of irrigating? It is the Rio Grande. With the help of hours of research, this paper will discuss some information about The Rio Grande Basin, why The Rio Grande Basin has been declining and why, the effect that this occurrence has on the environment as well as the economy, and to sum it all up a few ideas of what can be done to help the situation. According to International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) (1), The Rio Grande is the fifth longest river in the United States and among the top twenty in the world. The watershed of The Rio Grande includes the Rio Bravo. This watershed is located between Mexico and The US and covers over 1,900 miles. The Rio Grande is a source of drinking water for more than six million people and is used for irrigation on more than two million acres of land. The increase of population along both borders increases this number as well as increasing the amount of pollution in the water. Due to the fact that both The United States and Mexico discharge pollution into this river, with differing pollution standards, some places throughout The Rio Grande is considered out of the boundaries for pollution levels, by US standards. When conversing with Dudard, he says [A]lcohol is good for epidemics. It immunizes you ... Jean never touched alcohol. He just pretended to. Maybe that s why he... perhaps that explains his attitude (Ionesco 1960: 76). This insinuates that Berenger understands why he does not transform into rhinoceros, identifying his own alienation. Ionesco blamed the world around him for giving him nightmares, thus suggesting that his fiction was inspired by reality. He went on to say that the very act of denouncing the nightmare may free the world of them (Lupas 2014: 87). Berenger attempts to actively resist the nightmare of transforming, but fails, leaving him alone in a world of rhinoceros. Thus, Ionesco represents the rhinoceros as history s ultimate nightmare. The relationship between Berenger and Jean is also important in highlighting the protagonist s alienation. In the opening of the play, Berenger is described as unshaven and hatless, with unkempt hair and creased clothes; everything about him indicates negligence (Ionesco 1960: 4). He is compared to the character of Jean, who arrives very fastidiously dressed: brown suit, red tie, stiff collar, brown hat (4). Jean s appearance sets him as a stereotypical man of the time, contrasting with Berenger, who is an untidy, alcoholic that cannot conform to social expectations. From the outset we find little in Berenger s life that would appear to be worth defending (Danner 1979: 209). The absence of hope in Berenger, at the beginning, immediately alienates him from the rest of the characters. Ionesco s emphasis on work as a duty to society runs throughout the play. Berenger is consistently late for work at a publisher s shop. He resists the conformity of punching a time clock (Davies 2002: 646). Berenger s apathy towards work is what makes him ... The Gods In Geoffrey Philp s The Cattle Of The Sun God As the suitors, Odysseus and most of the people in the Greek world could tell you it is a lot better to have the gods on your side than as your enemy. Odysseus journey home in the Odyssey was a great example of how the gods can affect your life. One the reasons his journey took so long was because of the gods intervening. Although without the help of a few gods, he would not have gotten home at all. In the image, it shows a ship far away from home. It also shows waves that signify Poseidon not letting Odysseus go home. The image is very good at showing the hopelessness the ship in. Also, Geoffrey Philp, in his poem The Cattle of the Sun God shows a similar point of the power and what can happen if the gods are betrayed. In Philip s writing, it shows only how awful the gods can be. It is about Odysseus s crew making a dumb decision and the gods acting as their own system of Karma. In the poem, Philip uses the consequences of the mortals mistake to demonstrate the power of the gods. The mortals in Greek world have learned about how awful it is to have a god as your enemy. In Lima s TED Talk speech A Visual History of Human Knowledge, Lima discusses the metaphor of the tree of knowledge and how it connects all things. Lima s primary concern is that this picture is outdated and offers a new alternative: the network. Lima is correct that the metaphor of the tree is outdated; however, the network is not a sufficient replacement. The metaphor is lacking in many areas ranging from showcasing accurate connections to fulfilling the basic purposes of a metaphor. Lima begins his speech by analyzing the ways humans have been organizing information throughout the centuries. He discusses the origins of the tree metaphor to describe the wealth of information that was being discovered at that time and how the metaphor essentially took the world by storm. He provided examples of the tree in instances ranging from family lineage to Darwin s Tree of Life ; however, Lima has come to the conclusion that the tree is outdated, and society is begging for a new, more accurate representation of knowledge and being. He states that nowadays we are really facing new complex, intricate challenges that cannot be understood by simply employing a simple tree diagram (Lima). With all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Summary Of Weekly Grocery Trip I was going to name this post weekly grocery trip, but then I realized that most food itemI buy is from TJ s, so I reworked it. My obsession with Trader Joe s might seem pretty apparent here by now. A reader asked me what I buy on a weekly basis at the store, and I thought it would be a good post to share with you. A little bit more about my grocery shopping habit before we get started.... I like to do a big trip for the week on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I tend to have more time these days to drive, shop and unload and I don t like feeling rushed during a trip. I always make a list of all the items I need before hand, which means I take inventory of our fridge, freezer and pantry. Every couple weeks I like to mix things up, so I ll dive into my Trader Joe s Cookbook or Cravings Cookbook and pick a new recipe or 2 to try. Once I m in the store, I like to shop the perimeter of the store first. Fruit, veggies, meat and all the good food that fuels your body is normally stored here. By grabbing the good stuff first, when I see the pint of frozen ice cream, and look down to a cart already packed, I am more likely to opt out. I only eat out 1 4 meals a week, and it is usually lunch or dinner on the weekend, so making sure I have wholesome food is important for a healthy diet. unnamedAlthough my grocery list changes each week, these are the items that are staples in my cart. Produce 4 bags of spinach. That is a lot of spinach, but I make a green drink some mornings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Spider Man Anthropology With the recent announcement of Tom Holland having been casted as the MCU s new Spider Man, many fans were left wondering how Marvel Studios would tell the story of an iconic superhero known to the world without sounding repetitive or tiresome. Marvel revealed they would not do another origin story to fans pleasure because they felt it would be repetitive at this point. Back in April, Collider had reported that Spider Man would be returning back to high school which influenced the casting of a younger actor for the franchise. Collider spoke with Kevin Feige on his decision, with him explaining, We want to play with Spider Man in the high school years because frankly there ve been five Spider Man films and the amazing thing about it is, even though there ve been five Spider Man films, there are so many things from the comics that haven t been done yet. Not just characters or villains or supporting characters, but sides to his character. • 52. Improvement Of Technology And Its Use Has Been The... Improvement of technology and its use has been the foundation for American economics. Although such innovation does create jobs, customs, and cultures that contribute to the American lifestyle, it can also create pollution that harms the environment and brings about environmental injustice. People focus on outcome effects of a certain project. Whether its main goal is for economic gains, to help improve the way American people live, or even if it is harming the ecosystem in any way, they will intervene. However, what people don t pay attention to is the tool that is being used to accomplish such goals that can produce complications as it relates to the environment and injustice that comes with the utilization of technology. This creates a selective exposure mentality in the sense that if the tool being used has been here before the person was born or even if the tool is used to support daily activities within the American household and lifestyle, then in no way should it be harmful to humans or the environment. There must be a different way in which American citizens can identify such potential dangers so that disaster can be avoided. One approach is to have professionals in the related field expose such technologies that people believe are helping them but instead are causing damage to the environment.
