Morgan knew that militia might try to retreat, so he made it to where they cannot
run. Behind him and the men was the Broad River, which cut off an escape route.
This made it so the militia would have to choose to fight or die. The battle in the
movie did not show any kind of river around the area. Morgan put his rawest
militiamen in the front line, backing them up with seasoned men from Virginia and
his veteran Continental troops (Phillips). Even the British pointed out in The
Patriot how the militia was front and center of the troops. What the British didn t
know was that Morgan also had many more troops behind them. Each line of
troops was spread about 150 yards away from each other and had a larger number
of troops who were more trained the further it went back. Martin had a similar setup

The first example of negativity occurred over the course of the dress rehearsals
and performances of Borne Back, the Brenau University Dance Department s
Senior Thesis and Faculty Concert. I designed and constructed the costumes for
two pieces in the show, but I experienced an issue with one of the dancers in The
Word Shaker. The costumes for this piece involved arm bands, which were strips
of mesh that were tied and wrapped around the dancers arms. I asked the dancers to
completely untie the strips when they are removed after the piece, rather than
simply slipping them off with the knots intact; leaving the strips tied made it
difficult and time consuming to put them on again for the next run, as the knots
had to be untied before they could be wrapped around the dancers arms. Even
when asked multiple times, one dancer refused to untie the knots. Therefore, I
spent 3 4 of the rehearsals/performances trying to hurriedly untie the strips, which
took up unnecessary time when the dancers only had one dance to get ready for

family. Gandhi s mother, Putlibai Gandhi, gave what they had to the poor and
spent most of her time nursing the sick. He went to school in Porbander until he
was seven years old and then he attended a public school in Rajkot until he was 10
years old. Then at seventeen he went to high school at Katyavar. Then after high
school he went to the University of Ahmedabad. At the age of nineteen he was sent
to England to continue Uni. in London. Gandhi married to Kasturba Gandhi in the
year of 1883 due to an arranged marriage. She ended up having two heart attacks
and spent most of her time in bed. Then in late February she died in the year of
1944. Gandhi and his wife ended up having four children. All of them being boys,

52. The Effects Of Inequality On Sex Roles In Society
In its early years socialization theory was use by Talcott Parsons (1942) to explain
how early childhood behaviors are shaped to fit the sex roles later expect from
them by society. These masculine and feminine roles and tasks are put in place to
accomplish all market, non market and forced work. However, I question if other
social statuses ascribed to members of a society can be modified or even eliminate
the expected portrayal of these sex roles . Coined by Kimberle Crenshaw (1993),
intersectionality is the way in which multiple forms of inequality intersect; such as
race, class, gendersexuality and disability. It is my belief that we best see the effects
of intersectionality on sex roles in institutions of home, work and school.
Within my lifetime, I have unconsciously subscribed to the roles considered natural
of my gender but my culture (urbanity) and ethnicity (African American) has allowed
me to break or reshape how I efficiently do gender. Equating characteristics of my
femininity are thought to be physical attractiveness and nurturing. Due to my
affiliation with both a minority culture and ethnicity I fall into a structure of society,
which is often oppressed through the embossment of society s dominant group
privileging their own interests. Through cognitive development theory in the home,
school and work I took part in active roles to develop my gender identity. It was
superiors and caretakers who behaviors gave me competency of my femininity with
