Embarrassing Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of embarrassment is a challenging endeavor that forces one to
confront personal experiences, vulnerabilities, and the nuanced emotions that accompany such
moments. This topic demands a delicate balance between self-disclosure and maintaining a level
of objectivity. The difficulty lies not only in revisiting potentially uncomfortable memories but
also in translating those experiences into a coherent narrative that captivates the reader's
attention.
Embarking on such an essay requires a willingness to be introspective, diving into the depths of
one's own psyche to unravel the layers of embarrassment. It's akin to walking a tightrope
between sincerity and tact, as the writer must share enough to convey authenticity but not so
much as to alienate or discomfort the reader.
Additionally, the writer faces the challenge of ensuring the essay is relatable. While personal
stories can be powerful, they need to resonate with a broader audience. Crafting an essay that
bridges the gap between the individual and the universal can be a formidable task, requiring a
keen understanding of human emotions and a skillful use of language.
Furthermore, the writer must navigate the potential pitfalls of self-deprecation. While humor can
be a valuable tool, there is a fine line between lightheartedness and undermining the essay's
integrity. Striking the right tone is a delicate dance that involves acknowledging the
embarrassment without diminishing its impact.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of embarrassment is no small feat. It demands a
willingness to delve into personal vulnerabilities, a mastery of storytelling, and a nuanced
understanding of the emotional landscape. Navigating the complexities of this topic requires
finesse and a thoughtful approach. However, for those seeking assistance or inspiration in
tackling similar writing challenges, there are resources available. A variety of essays, on topics
both embarrassing and otherwise, can be found or even ordered on platforms like

Roger Ebert On Groundhog Day
The poetry of Rumi and the review of Chicago Sun Times writer Roger Ebert on
Groundhog Day both agree the view of human growth is determined by the heart
and not the body. Rumi believes that a person has to go through two worlds
(heaven and hell) to give up their life and become a better person. According to
page 30, lines 1 4, Rumi says, To dance is not to jump to your feet and rise
painlessly in the air like dust. To rise above both worlds is to dance in the blood of
your pain and give up your life. Rumi believes that victory is not only
accomplished when the path taken to solve a situation is the facilitated one. But,
that victory should be achieved when a person is able to get back on their feet and
improve themselves. Rumi establishes pathos when he uses words such as pain ,
blood , and life which evoke strong... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To use such words, Rumi expresses the different point of views on life. He intends
to make the reader realize that sacrifice is worth the pain and blood, because at the
end you would be dancing of joy in the blood in which you fought and succeeded.
This is shown in the review of Chicago Sun Times writer Roger Ebert on
Groundhog Day. Ebert believes that a person needs to go through something
devastatingly drastic to actually learn from the experience. According to the third
paragraph, Roger Ebert says, The movie, as everyone knows, is about a man who
finds himself living the same day over and over and over again. He is the only
person in his world who knows this is happening, and after going through periods of
dismay and bitterness, revolt and despair, suicidal self destruction and cynical
recklessness, he begins to do something that is alien to his nature. He begins to learn.
Ebert establishes pathos by including words such as suicidal self destruction, cynical
recklessness to show how people need to go through certain experiences to actually
learn, agreeing
Characteristics Of Japanese Maple Trees
Japanese Maple trees are a great edition to any yard. They are an elegant looking
tree, with soft, delicate looking leaves that can add dimensionality to your yard. To
keep your Japanese Maples in good health, you need to be aware of the three most
common tree disease that infected Japanese Maple trees as well as what to do about
these diseases.
Anthracnose Disease
Anthracnose disease is caused by fungus and generally affected Japanese Maple Trees
that are planted in areas that are warm and experience frequent humidity.
Disease Characteristics
On your Japanese maple, the most common visual sign of Anthracnose are small
spots on the leaves. These spots are usually either yellow or brown in color. The
spots start out dotting your leaves. Over time, the spots expand until they cover up
almost the entire leaf.
Yellow or brown spots can also appear on the twigs on your trees. They generally
appear on new growth.
Treatment
Prevention is the key with anthracnose. Make sure to not overwater plants. Do not
get the leaves wet when watering; use a drip sprinkler instead to water your trees.
Put compost around the base of your Japanese Maples to keep the soil healthy.
To get rid of anthracnose once it is present, usually copper based fungicides are
used to kill off the fungus. Infected branches can also be pruned off your trees. All
clippings from your Japanese Maple should be disposed of in the trash, and not left
to compost in your yard to prevent the spread of
Bertrand Russell s Arguments Against The Existence Of God
Bertrand Russell s main arguments against the existence of God and Christianity in
general, started with the definition of a Christian. He gave his opinion on several
types of argument for the existence of God. Such as, the cosmological, the natural
law, the teleological, the moral, and the argument for the remedying of injustice. He
then gave his view of the characteristic of Christ, the defects in Christ s teaching, and
how the churches have retarded progress. In the process of reading Bertrand Russell
argument, he has made some valid points, but also made some unsound judgment.
I think Bertrand Russell critique is fair in that a lot of people in today s society has
a loose definition of what a Christian is. A Christian is not just someone that lives a
good life. A Christian should portray a dogmatic nature, and believe in Godand
immortality. However his argument is contradictory in the first cause, he first claims
that if everything must have a cause, then God must have a cause. Then he opposes
his argument by stating, if there can be anything without a cause, it may just as well
be the world as God. In my opinion this is poor reasoning. ... Show more content on

On the other hand, Bertrand Russell claims that he is not a Christian, but yet he
seems to know the bible more than most professed Christians do. But it has been
said, the devil knows the bible just as good, because he was once an angel in
heaven. I have found his critique to be rather convincing, because it may either
stimulate a person to evaluate their beliefs; or it may be an awakening to a profess
Christian, that do not know the word of God, and realizes that an atheist knows more
about the Christian faith than the Christians
Cold Blood By Truman Capote
The novel, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote would be a good, diverse addition to
the ENG 3U course for many reasons, beginning with how the novel is non fiction,
but still manages to create a story line, while remaining appealing for the reason that
it differs from most novels on course syllabus to the way the author can make you
feel for the characters. In Cold Bloodis a novel written about a real life event that
happened in Holcomb, Kansas, 1959. A family of four is murdered in their house in
cold blood. While this seems intriguing enough, Truman Capotekeeps the entire novel
interesting by being descriptive in the way characters are described Marie examined
the frontВview and profile of Smith: an arrogant face, tough, yet not entirely, for there
was about it a peculiar refinementНѕ the lips and nose seemed nicely made, and she
thought the eyes, with their moist, dreamy expression, rather prettyВВrather, in an
actorish way, sensitive. Sensitive, and something more: mean. Though not as
mean, as forbiddenly criminal, as the eyes of Hickock, Richard Eugene. Marie,
transfixed by Hickock s eyes, was reminded of a childhood incident of a bobcat she
d once seen caught in a trap, and of how, though she d wanted to release it, the cat s
eyes, radiant with pain and hatred, had drained her of pity and filled her with terror.
(Capote, 164) The novel is challenging and continues on with a large vocabulary to
keep readers from becoming bored of continuous phrases, The sound of
Jesus, The Son Of Man
For numerous believers, the question remains curious of why the term Son of Man
was used by Jesus in self representation. Particularly intriguing is Jesus use of this
identification since God s attributes are not fully comprehended in scope or of nature
in their entirety, save what has been revealed to us in Scripture. Therefore it is
humbling to realize that Jesusmakes such a firm association with mankind. Combined
with Jesus humanity there still remains distinctive from His title, the means which
He uses to address (Moule, 1978) Himself.

the fact that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is some dispute over the nature of Jesus mission with how (Van Aarde, 2005)
future events would be shaped by Christ.
Scholars have divided themselves into three camps. Some say Jesus was a wisdom
teacher and, according to these scholars understanding 5, it seems that wisdom
excludes an apocalyptic mind set. Others disagree 6. But there is also a third option 7.
According to these scholars, both presence (immanence) and future (eschatology)
exist within the spectrum of Jesus vision. This complexity is interwoven with the
problem pertaining to the continuity and/or discontinuity of the son of man sayings
by Jesus and those by the Jesus groups after his death.
I believe that the Daniel 7 linkage to Jesus use of Son of Man will justify an
apocalyptic inclusion, these facts do not disbar Jesus present or future activities.
Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek?
The case of whether or not Hebrew or Aramaic was used by Jesus in the utterance
of Son of Man is difficult to ascertain since Hebrew was used simultaneously in
worship while Aramaic was used in other daily living areas. Aramaic is considered
the common language evidenced by the findings of documents or fragments which
proved to be items of textual contracts plus other written documents of everyday life.
Consequently, all of these findings have been found to be written
The Environment And Its Effects On The Natural Carbon
Cycle
Adam, Caroline, John
Part I
1. One sustainability issue would be that growing one type of food species can
disrupt the natural carbon cycle. Like in the biosphere 2 where the residents ended up
growing just sweet potatoes, it is thought that the sweet potatoes and the plants in the
area disrupted the carbon cycle and this ended up overpowering the atmosphere
dropping the Biosphere oxygen levels from 21% to 14%. This does not create a
sustainable environment. Another problem would be biodiversity, and the lack of
different plant species. The more diversity there is in terms of plant species, the
more resilient they become. Since there wouldn t be very many plants on Mars, the
plants would be prone to harm that would ruin its sustainability. Reduced diet
diversity will be a challenge while astro farming on Martian soil. To keep the area
small and combat this issue, an efficient Mars diet should be strictly vegan and will
not include fruits or nuts from trees.
2. The two challenges would be time and space limitations. For time limitations,
you can t wait an extended period of time to have a crop grow. You need food as
soon as possible in the most sustainable way possible, so time in not on our side. In
terms of space, growing all the crops in a cluttered, enclosed environment probably
isn t something that is beneficial for the crops. Obviously on Mars, you work with
what you got, but not having space to spread out the crops and use techniques that
are typically used to grow

The authors concluded that while increasing gastroenterology capacity is important
(i.e., capital and funding availability, plus searching the local labor market for
gastroenterology physicians, nurses, and physician assistants), it may not be as
beneficial as redirecting the focus on healthcare system process changes. Access
limitations may be due to suboptimal management of current capacity rather than
inadequate levels of capacity (Powell et al., 2009). As the largest healthcare system
in the world, the VHA cannot rely solely on hiring and training more
gastroenterology staff when process management is also in urgent need of
simultaneous, coordinated improvement. As a response to this colossal demand to
expand gastroenterology trained and credentialed providers to perform colonoscopy,
a small number of VHA facilities and gastroenterology departments sought new and
innovative ways to build provider and space capacity to mitigate this challenging,
unmet need. Dr. Jason Dominitz, National Program Director for Gastroenterology
Patient Care Services, reported there are at least a half dozen or more credentialed
nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) performing colonoscopy at
various VHA facilities. The non physician endoscopists have collectively provided
safe, quality driven procedural care and high patient satisfaction survey
Flint Cragleys Adventure
Get Ready to narrate, Brah! Monzo exclaimed. Monzo turned on the camera.
Cragley HO! for all of you watching Flint Cragley, Crag trotter on Crag vision. Flint
Cragley read his legendary phrase. This week we will be exploring the Flora caves
just south of The Downtown of Crag. Where the dangerous Flora King lives. Flint
spoke in the primitive microphone. This week he was wearing his leopard skin
skirt (Like his normal clothes. After all, he does live his life like a normal
Cragnon.) Here we go! Were are going behind the scenes of the recent Crag
Nappings. Flint walked in with his cameraman Hornfels and his Microphone guy,
Monzo Are you sure you want to go in there, Brah? Hornfels asked. Yeah, Hornfels
right, Brah. Monzo says. It looks kind of like the Flora King, Brah. Hornfels spoke
with confidence. But with my power and strength I will get through without pain!
Flint exclaimed. CUT! Flint Ended the video. Yucky! This place is the gross! Flint
said to the crew. The Crags will like this, Brah, Do it! Hornfels said. Yeah, If you
fake this one, it will be, like, your 200,000,000,000th one! Monzo exclaimed. Fine,
I guess I will. Flint knew the danger but he wanted to make the Cragnon race
happy, his ratings would go down if he didn t. That means that he will flop and his
workers would get more money than him. Job of Monzo lame. Monzo cried.
Mommy said not to apply for this job, she said Its the worst job in Crag. Monzo cried

The Invention Of The Printing Press
You can t stop people from printing what they want to print. Alan Sugar
The Printing Press, a 15th century invention, allowed scholars to print and distribute
their work throughout Europe. Church authority denounced the spread of scientific
ideas encouraged by the invention of the printing press. They banned scientific
works, like Galileo s Sidereus Nuncius, as academics published their research. Roman
Catholic Church authority advocated for biblical ideas, which opposed scientific
studies like the heliocentric theory and the study of kinetics. Ecclesiastical doctrine
contested the heliocentric theory, Galileo s research, and Newton s laws of motion,
demonstrating the incompatibility between scientific studies and theology.
Copernicus challenged the Roman Catholic Church with his Heliocentric Theory. In
his book De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium Libri VI, he explained his theory: the
hypothesis that planets revolved around the sun rather than the Earth (Williams,
L.Pearce). His proposition contradicted Bartolomeu Velho s geocentric theory, a view
more compatible with church doctrine, suggesting that all motion centered around
Earth (Velho Bartolomeu). The Bible established that [God] set the earth on its
foundation, therefore [Earth] can never be moved (Psalm 104:5). By claiming that
Earth remains stationary rather than revolving around the sun, the Church sided with
Bartolomeu Velho. In contrast, Copernicus questioned the Church, asking why we

CASE ONE: Mrs. L. Windermere is a 73 year old woman under your care for more
than a decade. She has no chronic medical conditions and comes in once a year in
the spring just to catch up. In this visit her only complaint is a cough. It started a
month or two ago following a cold. She hadn t been very ill just some congestion and
rhinorrhea. After those symptoms mostly resolved, she developed this cough. She
asks, Is there something you can give me for this cough?
1. How is cough categorized? Is this a chronic cough?

with members of his congregation three to four days a week. On physical exam her
oral pharynx is slightly erythematous but there is no cobblestoning and her nasal
turbinates are neither pale nor inflamed. She has no lymphadenopathy, and her lungs
sound clear without any wheezing or crackles.
3. Do you want an X ray? How are you going to treat this cough?
Yes I would order a chest x ray due to the duration of her cough, the fact that it is
post infectious, her age, and to evaluate for pneumonia and masses. Due to the
duration of the cough and the fact that her cough is becoming productive with
yellow sputum, I would tell the patient she probably started out with a viral
bronchitis that now could be transitioning into a bacterial bronchitis and/or
Pertussis and I would prescribe an antibiotic that will cover both: Azithromycin
500mg PO day 1, then 250mg PO Daily X 4 days. I would instruct her to buy over
the counter mucinex take as directed on box, and drink plenty of fluids. If the cough
does not improve in 3 weeks have her follow up.
CASE ONE CONTINUED: She returns in three weeks. Her chest X ray was normal.
Her symptoms are unchanged.
4. Now what? What is Upper Airway Cough Syndrome?
Now further evaluation is needed and a change in treatment. According to Tofts,

The Spanish American War Was A Conflict Between Spain
And...
The Spanish American war was a conflict between Spain and America. It ended
Spanish ruling in the Americas and resulted in the expansion of territories in the
Pacific and Latin America for the US. During this period of imperialism, there were
many influences driving the U.S. government. The war started with Cubastruggling to
gain their independence from Spain. However, Spain rejected their notions by
brutally stopping the Cuban rebellion. Newspapers began portraying Spain as
spiteful and the sympathy for the Cuban rebels rose in America. William Randolph
Hearst was responsible for exaggerating the truth in the papers about the fight for
independence from Spain. Hearst invented a term called yellow journalism , which
exploits, distorts, or exaggerates the news to attract readers. A truce was called and
Spain allowed Cuba to have limited power of self government. Nevertheless, the
demand for the US to intervene with the conflict grew and it resulted in the sinking
of the USS Mainein the Havana Harbor in Cuba. The battleship had an explosion
that resulted in 260 sailors dead. The explosion was thought to have been caused
by the Spanish even though it was never proven. This led to the start of the war.
Spain declared war on the US on April 24, 1898. No American favored Cuban
independence like Roosevelt. Teddy Roosevelt was one of the most conspicuous
heroes during the Spanish American war. It is apparent that Teddy favored the Navy.
He believed that a strong navy in the
Diego VelГЎzquez s Impact On The Painting Industry
Over the years, Spain has produced many significant figures. From sports, to politics,
many renowned people have had their meager beginnings in this eastern European
country. Some of the greatest, however, were the artists. Not only did Spaniards
create beautiful paintings, but they also birthed entirely new sects in the art culture.
Although innumerable world famous painters have been Spanish, Diego de
VelГЎzquez, Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso, and Salvador Dali have made some of
the greatest impacts on the painting industry. The first of these great painters was
Diego VelГЎzquez. Born in Seville, Spain, in 1599, VelГЎzquez possessed great

The Debated and Hated SUV Essay
The Debated and Hated SUV
Since the early 1990s, the car market has become saturated with sport utility
vehicles. While SUV s have been enthusiastically received by a wide spectrum of the
demographic everyone from teenagers to soccer moms not all are excited by its
arrival. Some of the current complaints with SUVs have to do with their ridiculous
size and relative fuel inefficiency. Others criticize the vehicles as being unsafe, and
certainly unnecessary, for the tasks for which they are commonly used. But even with
the recent campaigns to educate the public on the possible physical and
environmental risks posed by the automobiles, SUV purchases continue to be on the

It is apparent that safety is on the minds of SUV and car drivers alike. The anti SUV
argument gives statistics that show SUVs high center of gravity that makes them
prone to flipping. These statistics also show that rollovers account for a large
portion of vehicle deaths (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) . A
solid argument is made by showing that lots of deaths are due to vehicle rollovers
because SUV s account for the majority of these types of crashes. Other stats show
that in crashes containing both SUVs and cars the car generally loses. There are
some problems with the statistics used by anti SUV groups. Some statistics are
not brought up when discussing personal safety because they would weaken the
argument being made. By only telling part of the statistics the argument is flawed
because it is built on numbers that are slanted. The anti SUV arguments are not
lying when they say that SUVs are less safe than cars; as a general rule, this is true.
However, in the case of a SUV versus car crash, the SUV is safer: The occupant death
rate in SUVs is 6 percent higher than it is for cars 8 percent higher in the largest
SUVs. The main reason is that SUVs carry a high risk of rollover; 62 percent of SUV
deaths in 2000 occurred in rollover accidents. (Mencimer)
Personal safety is very important to most people; using this pathos base, a logos
argument is built by showing how driving a SUV is not as safe for the
Silver Essay In Chemistry
1.Ancestry
Discovered in approximately 3000 BC, silver is one of the oldest elements known
to man. Why was it so easy for miners in Turkey and Greece to discover, one may
ask? Silver is also one of the most abundant elements found on earth and was not
difficult to come across when mining mountains and rocks. (Silver, 1)
The exploration of silver mines in Laurium, Greece is significantly responsible for the
rise of Athens in 600 BC. Additionally, in medieval times, German mines became
the main source of silver in Europe, allowing the country to flourish and become
what it is today. Silver proved to be an important part of the successes of many
civilizations, including the ancient civilizations of Central and South America, who
were rich deposits of silver in countries such as Peru, Bolivia and Mexico. (Silver, 1)
The element of silver is known to have a symbol of Ag. While this may surprise
some due to its lack of resemblance to the actual name, this character has an
explanation. Silver was originally known as seolfor : an Anglo Saxon name, and
while this is how its name came to be, silver possesses the symbol Ag because of the
fact that it is an abbreviation of the Latin word for silver, argentum. (The Element

The Father Of String Quartets
Known primarily as the father of string quartets , Joseph Haydn played an extremely
important role in the development of the string quartet. When the composer first
arrived on the scene, the usual name given to a string quartet composition was
actually considered a divertimento . This title was a general term to describe any one
on a part type instrumental music that was compatible with a variety of different
music scorings, styles and character. It wasn t until about 1780 that modern titles
/terms such as the quartet and quintet become common for serious chamber musicin
the now standard scoring. (Eisen, Grove, String Quartet ) This change of
terminology that happens during Haydn s career does not imply that there was
nothing serious being performed on strings prior to terminology change. In fact,
examples of serious works can be found during Haydn s op.9 (1769 70) early
divertimentos, with a cello playing the bass line. This serious work of Haydn also
incorporated a new idea within the world of string quartets, a four movement scheme.
Throughout the four movements the textures were varied, having moments of a
possible elaborated homophonic trio sonata style , paired with a more contrapuntal
polyphonic style.
Another characteristic that encouraged stylistic growth were the various fugal
moments being introduced throughout string quartet music during this time. The
Viennese set k168 73 (1773) by Mozart illustrates an irregular phrase construction,
Growing Up In Poverty In The United States
Poverty is the condition of being without adequate food or money. American
Psychological Association (MLA): Poverty is not having enough money to have the
basic necessities in life. It is an issue within the United States and the world. There
are many children that grow up in poverty and the effects can last throughout the life.
When growing up in povertythere can be high risk of teen pregnancy, poor heath,
crime, Drug use and a lack of education. (Boyden)
Poverty and poor health worldwide are inseparably related. Poor health is a direct
effect of growing up in poverty; as children living in low economic families may not
have access to adequate medical health coverage. Which means the child will not
have proper immunization and checkup that they need to ensure good health. Studies
show when a child grows up in poverty the child can be underweight (Boyden). Poor
under lined illness may also lead to issues throughout a lifespan. Poverty increases
neglect of health issues. That causes more health problems which ends in death.
Statistics also show that living in poor rule areas, with low quality schools. Even if

At the trial the perpetrator claims that the prosecutor erroneously declared a particular

reasonable man in Goetz s situation. The court determined that the examination
should be completely subjective and dismissed because Goetz s self defense was

Rosenberg s Category Analysis
Title: An analysis of how children s identity develops over time: using Rosenberg s
study of self descriptions (1979).
Abstract
This report is an analysis of two semi structured interviews investigating the ways
individual children give self descriptions, and how these change with age. An 8 year
old girl and a 16 year old boy were interviewed separately in a familiar environment.
They first wrote down their chosen self descriptions which were then discussed with
the interviewer. These were followed by a series of questions relating to self
evaluation, self and others, ideal self and the locus of self knowledge. The results
were coded using the same methodology the researcher Rosenberg used to analyse
children s self descriptions in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(b) Participants
One primary and one secondary school in Milton Keynes were approached by the
Open University to help the team find willing participants for their research. The
younger participant was Annie, selected from three 8 year olds that were
interviewed by Kieron Sheehy. The older participant was Adam, selected from three
16 year olds interviewed by Peter Barnes. The participants were told at the start of the
interview they could stop the recording and withdraw participation any time if they
wished.
(C) Materials
A consent form of participation and use of audio recording was signed by the
parents of the children prior to the interviews. In both venues the sound recordist
and the producer were present, and the 8 year olds also had a classroom assistant in
attendance. There was an unobtrusive microphone, a pen, and a sheet of paper for the

Usa And Peru Compare And Contrast
Christmas Time: U.S. and Peru Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Season s
Greetings! These are phrases a person will hear during the Christmas holiday season
in the United States. The season of giving and spending time with family is not only
celebrated in the United States, but in countries all over the world. A particular
country located in South America, also celebrates Christmasas one of their most
significant holidays of the year. In Peru, one may hear Peruvians shouting out Feliz

Due to the strong Christian beliefs in America and Peru, the commemoration of the
Christmas season and some of their respective traditions are similar; but differences
do exist in the way they celebrate the season. [add three points] In preparation for
such a significant holiday, people of the U.S. are often found decorating immediately

The Struggle Over Kashmir, By Mohandas Gandhi
Introduction
The name Kashmir has become synonymous with slaying, destruction and religious
massacre in South Asia. Ever since the partition of India in 1947, when Britain
dismantled its Indian empire, India and Pakistan have been archrivals. What makes
this conflict interesting, conversely, is how much they hate one another. The hostility
between these two has been rooted not only in religion and history, but is exemplified
by the long running battle over the control of Jammu and Kashmir. Which has
recently intensified into a treacherous nuclear arms race.
How the conflict arose?
In order to completely understand the struggle over Kashmir, it is important to
understand the history of this longtime conflict. During the early 1900 s ... Show more

In just a period of four days over 5,000 people were killed during religious riots in
the Indian city of Calcutta. After the partition of India and Pakistan, to stop Kashmir
from being a part of India, Pakistan invaded them and tried to gain control. The
Maharaja of Kashmir at the time fled to India and offered a deal to let Kashmir be
under Indian control if India would defend Kashmir from further invasion. India
agreed and immediately sent out troops to fight off the Pakistani invaders. Per the
agreement, the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir makes up about 45% of
Kashmir. Pakistan controls three areas known as Azad Kashmir, Gilgit and
Baltistan, which make up about 35% of Kashmir. Finally, China controls one area
called Aksai Chin equaling to 20% of Kashmir. The people of Kashmir have the
same rights and privileges as any Indian citizen. The government of India has built
schools, hospitals and police stations for the Kashmiri people. But, the people of
Kashmir preferred to be a part of Pakistan due to their Islamic beliefs. Pakistan does
not acknowledge the control of Kashmir by India and still considers it their land.
Conflict
The most significant issue that divides these longtime rivals is not just nuclear arms
or religious beliefs. But also with the two most essential human needs: water and
protection. The water that
Erectile Dysfunction Medications
Medications That Can Cause Erectile Dysfunction Erectile dysfunction is a more
common condition than many like to think, and it can be caused by a whole host of
things. Even alcohol can temporarily disrupt a healthy person s sex life. If you re
concerned about your sexual functioning, take a look inside your medicine cabinet.
Many medications can cause erectile dysfunction, but the following are the most
common culprits. Antidepressants Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)
like Prozac and Zoloft have long been associated with sexual dysfunction, but the
relationship has never been clear. It s hypothesized that the raised levels of serotonin
caused by the medications result in inhibition of dopamine, norepinephrine, and nitric
oxide.
What Is A New Unknown Place Essay
Life in a new, unknown place can seem scary. It might be somewhere you have

suddenly found yourself due to unavoidable circumstances. No matter where you are

For me, I was nervous about how I might mesh in this little country of Belize. But I

It s just a smile. You may want to add a good morning, good afternoon, or good

American Red Cross Analysis
It s amazing how far United States have come along when it comes to caring for an
individual that you don t know, yet you are doing everything in your power to save
someone s life. American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton on May 21,
1881, but before the American Red Cross came into America it was and
international movement that was founded by a young Swiss man named Henry
Dunant. To know that 40,000 men are laying dead or alive and wounded from a
war that soldiers fought for us in the civil war, yet there were no medical attempts
to save lives, made Dunant organize local people to help wounded soldiers. The
locals helped with wounded soldiers by feeding, and comforting them when in need.
In October 1868 the International Red Cross Movement was created in Geneva,
Switzerland and their duty was to provide non partisan care to the wounded soldiers

Persuasive Essay On Social Justice
Eliezer Yudkowsky once said, You are personally responsible for becoming more
ethical than the society you grew up in. This exact quote represents the initiative I
plan on taking to promote social justice. Though I have yet to make a humongous
contribution to the progress of society, I am steadily working towards it. The need
for social justice is everywhere due to the acts of injustice that people, primarily
minorities, face everyday. This includes police brutality, racism, and discrimination.
That being said, action must be taken and I will do my part by starting in my own
community Atlanta,GA. On July 7th, 2016, Michael George Smith Jr. was found
hanging from a tree in Piedmont Park. Policeruled his death as a suicide, but of
course everyone, including myself, suspected foul play. In addition to Michael s
death, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were both killed earlier that week. Both
whom were unarmed and not disturbing any peace, yet were still shot and killed by
the police. In response to all three of their deaths, protests erupted throughout
downtown Atlanta. The day of the protest, my grandma and I were both watching the
news, seeing everything that was happening. In the midst of us watching the news,
she mumbled damn, 50 years later and ain t none changed . It then began to dwell on
me that when it comes to police brutality, protesting has not changed anything. Even
back in 1992, when the LA riots occurred after the Rodney Kingbeating, all of
The Main Four Factors And Components Of Social
Perception
Social Perception Social perception is the process of interpreting information and
making assumptions about others in order to attach meanings based on what we can
observe. Social perception also refers to using social cues and available information to
evaluate others. People rely on social context when judging others as it strongly
influence how we label people and their behaviors. Social perceptions can also be
flawed because observers can misinterpret others and come to the wrong conclusion.
It is important to understand the concept of social perception because it allows
individuals to recognize their own bias when forming impressions about others.
Understanding social perception may even help individuals overcome these
challenges by responding appropriately in certain situations. Moreover, it is innate for
people to try to predict and understand the behavior of others around them. People
tend to evaluate others based on various things and how we perceive people and
situations can influence our attitude and behavior as a result. The main four
components that influence the social perception of others include observation,
attribution, integration, and confirmation. The first component of social perception
is observation, which is associated with three factors including the person, situation,
and behavior. People normally focus on the physical characteristics, context from
prior experiences, and nonverbal communication of others when collecting evidence
to support their
Essay on The Sophistication of the Brain
To what extent is it true that the brain is a sophisticated information processor?
The human brain is the most important part of the nervous system. The brain along
with the spinal cord makes up the central nervous system and together they control all
of the body s important functions, such as motor functions, speech, vision, hearing
and also involuntary functions like breathing. Many of these functions are localised
to a specific area of the cerebrum. The cerebrum is split into four lobes; the frontal,
parietal, temporal and occipital lobes, which are specialised to carry out their
different roles. The cortex is divided into two hemispheres; the left hemisphere is
associated with motor control, speech and language functions and logic; ... Show

They both transmit information by using electricity; however, the brain uses chemical
messages as well as electrical impulses. A computer can process information much
faster than the brain can; for example mathematical calculations can be carried out
immediately on a computer rather than having to work out the answer logically like
the brain would have to. However, the brain is capable of emotion, imagination and
creativity, whereas a computer can only follow the instructions given to it. Another
important comparison between the brain and a computer is the fact that the brain
cannot be turned off unlike a computer. If any part of a computer gets damaged, it
is easily replaceable. However, if an important part of the brain is in any way
damaged, it can be difficult to regain normal function and near impossible to replace
it.
The brain is given the analogy of the hardware and software of a computer. The
brain is seen as the hardware as it is the physical structure and the mind is viewed
as the software. This is because software is not physical and somewhat controls what
processes can be carried out on a computer. A computer has a hard disk which can
store a large volume of information, which is similar to the long term memory store in
the brain. Short term memory is stored in the brain, much like RAM in a computer
(Lytton, 2002). Information processing
Heinrich Himmler s Role In The Holocaust
When people are talking about who were the most evil people that were a part of
Nazi Germany and the Holocaust, Heinrich Himmler should be the first person that
comes to mind. Heinrich Himmler was one of the leading members of the German
National Socialist party, or widely known as the German Nazis. Himmler was the
leader of many operations during his time in Nazi Germany, with the Final Solution
during the Holocaustbeing his most well known. Three reasons why people should
learn about Heinrich Himmler when talking about the Holocaust is his role in the
Final Solution, the SS (elite soldiers and officers), and in the invasion of Poland and
the Soviet Union. Firstly, Heinrich Himmler is important to the Holocaust because of

This point shows that Himmler also devised the buildings that were used for the
Final Solution. It shows that he was the creator of one the most deadliest killers of
Jews and people during World War II, Auschwitz Birkenau. Heinrich Himmler s role
in the Final Solution s implementation, arrangement, and leadership over it makes
Himmler an important learning point during the Holocaust. The second reason why
Heinrich Himmler is important to the Holocaust is his role with the SS. The article
called Heinrich Himmler by UXL Biographies states that Hitler assigned Himmler
the special task of building the SS into an organization of carefully selected men
who would become the leaders of a new German race ( Heinrich Himmler UXL

with the idea behind the Holocaust. It also reveals when the beginning thoughts of
the Final Solution started. Next, the same article states that Himmler had SS men act
as his agents in a reign of terror that swept through country after country after World
War II began in 1939...rampaged through ghettos full of Jews, raping, robbing,
murdering, and rounding up people to send to concentration camps ( Heinrich

rounded up most of the Jews in Germany that were killed in the concentration camps

During the early 60 s in the Viet Nam war, Viet Cong soldiers used the protection of
the forest canopy and mangroves to move troops and for ambushes against United
States and Allied troops. To stop this, the US Air Force began Operation Ranch Hand

Manhood And Masculinity
What this discourse about gender has revealed is that there can be no stable definition
of masculinity as gender is a structure of social practice, which means that masculinity
as a concept is man made and thus changes with society. Different times value
different concepts of masculinity. For this, R. W. Connell coined the term hegemonic
masculinity, which means that at any given time, one form of masculinity rather than
others is culturally exalted. Connell goes on to describe this concept as the
configuration of genderpractice which embodies the currently accepted answer to the
problem of the legitimacy of patriarchy, which guaranties (or is taken to guarantee)
the dominant position of men and the subordination of women (1995, 77).

When masculinity is normal everything else becomes deviant. As a consequence,
masculinity sustains itself by abjecting that which is polluting and blurs the boundary
between the natural and unnatural. Thus to define masculinity, both the female and
the homosexual are abjected from within itself. The state of being unmarked is not
rewarded to women by definition of gender and homosexual men by definition of
sexuality. If an individual is threatening the natural boundaries of masculinity by
exhibiting either too feminine traits or a different sexuality, they are considered a
danger to the whole group of men. As Berkenkamp remarks: Durch Praxen des Ein
oder AusschlieГџens, des EinschГјchterns oder Ausbeutens weist die hegemoniale
Männlichkeit neben Frauen auch anderen Männern einen untergeordneten Status
zu (2014, 15). The homosexual man is widely considered the most dangerous
threat to hegemonic masculinity as he generally resembles a proper man, but in
sexual practices he can be said to resemble the female (because of the act of
penetration which is generally only said to be reserved for females). Thus, the
homosexual male can be seen as an extreme condition of abjection. Homophobia
directed by men against men can therefore be defined as misogynistic, and
transhistoricaly so. This means not only that it is oppressive of the so called feminine

The Miller s Tale Essay
The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer consists of several characters from
various social classes. Together, these characters go on a pilgrimage to Canterbury
and along the journey they all tell different tales. In order to write this book,
Chaucer decided to go on his own pilgrimage and to also observe people in his
everyday life in order to make the characters and the book itself realistic. Many
authors like Chaucer will take real life experiences and incorporate them into their
novels. In The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer uses the characters in order to reveal his
inner most opinions of his past. Chaucer s solicitous portrayal of contrary women
in The Miller s Tale can be traced back to his tolerance of the affair between his
wife and his best friend. For example, Alison from The Miller s Tale is having an
affair with Nicholas and warns him that My husband is so full of jealousy, unless
you watch your step and hold your breath I know for certain it will be my death
(Chaucer 91). This evidence suggests that Alison was aware of her wrong doing and

This having been his second and possibly third time visiting Italy, the Italian

who are fighting for the love of one woman. This tale contains the exact characters

Palace Theif Character Analysis
The story, Palace Theif, is a somewhat short story about a teacher s point of view of
how deeply students can affect those around them. Others would disagree with
how I would summarize the story but this I how truly felt after reading it.
Sedgewick, and those related to him, had a huge impact on our narrator, Mr.
Hundert. Even despite how after his student graduated he was still reminded by all
of the experiences he shared with him. The first relationship would of course be
Mr. Sedgewick himself. He is complicated boy with high status relations behind
him, as he is related to the Senator, his father. During the first interaction with
Sedgewick, Mr. Hundert was most likely aware that he was going to be a
troublemaker of his class. However seemed shocked once he received Sedgewick s
first exams. How poorly he did on it seemed surprising to him as it states, He was a
poor student and on his first exam could not even tell me who it was that Mark
Antony and Octavian had routed at Philippi, nor who Octavian later became,
although an average wood beetle in the floor of my classroom could have done so
with ease. (Line 12) This show exactly how he felt about Mr. Sedgewick. A simple
no brainer. As Sedgewick s grades get lower and lower, Mr Hundert decides to have
a meeting with his father. However during the meeting, which will be discussed later
on, things went the in a direction Mr. Hundert was not expecting. He learns how

Phineas Gage Dualism
In the discussion of the human mind and how it actually works, there are a few
distinct philosophical concepts that many believe to be an accurate diagnosis. Three
of these views are Dualism, Physicalism, and Functionalism. They each portray a
different view on how the mind functions in some cases physically or even mentally
and separate from the actual human brain. perfect way to exam these approaches is
to take an in depth look at the interesting case of Phineas Gage. Gage, born in 1823,

These three Body Mind views present possible ways to examine the accident that
Phineas Gage suffered an entire change in personality from. Physicalism presents
the best argument for explaining the Gage case. If everything is physical it is
certainly logical for the personality and thought processes of a human to change
after enduring an entirely physical injury. Physicalism suggests that everything
about human beings can be explained just by looking at the pure physical processes
of the body and specifically the brain, so clearly it presents a sound argument for
why Gage endured such a drastic change in who he actually was. Gage according to
dualism may have had the same mind, but according the physicalism certainly did not
have the same brain and therefore, to quote his coworkers, was no longer

The Blanding s Turtle
There are many species worldwide whose habitats are threatened daily by loss of
habitat due to global warming, pollution, and the spread of human populations that
may need to undergo experimental management in order to figure out a way to keep
the species populations in a healthy status as well as protect fragile ecosystems. One
such species, the Blanding s turtle (Emydoidea blandingii), was placed on the
threatened list in New York state due to the large loss of habitat and low population
numbers especially in the female gender of the species. The article Experimental
Management of Nesting Habitat for the Blanding s Turtle (Emydoidea blandingii)

Anna killed. While Anna held on to that relationship, Elsa had shut herself out in fear
of hurting someone. Things got worse as their parents, the king and the queen died
in a shipwreck, leaving the sisters more alone than ever. Years later, Elsa is forced to
interact with others during her coronation, the build up of emotions and feelings...

Frozen easily fills this requirement because who hasn t ever felt alone or different?
Anyone who is different, like Elsa, would be feared, mistreated, labeled, and
honestly, who s the same?Everyone is unique and different in their own way. In
society, people who are different are made fun of, excluded, judged, etc. Watching
Elsa go from fearing herself and isolating herself to accepting and loving herself
showed us who cares what others think? Who never felt shy or nervous like Anna
did before the ball. Everyone should be able to relate to at least one of the
characters in this movies and therefore Frozen would be deemed realistic. In the
eyes of Franzen and Groen, the movie Frozen would be considered quality art as it
contains realistic characters, realistic scenarios as life is tragic , and realistic and
relatable in general. Aside for that, Frozen is a top rated movie that everyone, not

Masculinity And Style In Hemingway And Carver
Masculinity and Style in Hemingway and Carver. The following will present the
themes of masculinity in relation to style in Raymond Carver and Ernest
Hemingway. Both are major figures of 20th century US fiction, and both write about

also externalized toward others and this will be examined with specific author
selections. It will be argued in the following that there is a minimalism recognized at
many levels of the style for both authors, but this essay will explore the minimal...

There is workplace degradation that happens to male characters in Carver stories, and
these characters are in turn, viewed as expressing these personal frustrations on those

examined in the following named Nick Adams, and their own biographical parallel is
a First World War experience that results in a dynamic that gets played over and
over. The character of Nick Adams like the figure of Hemingway, had to return to a
world after a shattering emotional war experience, and a good dimension of that
world is defined by the male expectations of it. The following will examine the theme
of masculinity in relation to style using two specific RC short stories. Cathedral
and Why Don t you dance? are very similar in structure and are useful for
comparison. Both characters involve the dynamic of a couple with a challenged
relationship who encounter another male. In both stories, it is a younger couple,
and in both stories, the older male is partially defined by some eccentric and
important features. In Cathedral , the blind friend of a wife and her husband meet
for the first time and there is a tension between the couple over a few differences of
expectations. In Why Don t you dance? , a young couple walking along together
encounter an older man who has

Embarrassing Essay. Embarrassing experience essay topics - kingessays.web.fc2.com

  • 1. Embarrassing Essay Crafting an essay on the theme of embarrassment is a challenging endeavor that forces one to confront personal experiences, vulnerabilities, and the nuanced emotions that accompany such moments. This topic demands a delicate balance between self-disclosure and maintaining a level of objectivity. The difficulty lies not only in revisiting potentially uncomfortable memories but also in translating those experiences into a coherent narrative that captivates the reader's attention. Embarking on such an essay requires a willingness to be introspective, diving into the depths of one's own psyche to unravel the layers of embarrassment. It's akin to walking a tightrope between sincerity and tact, as the writer must share enough to convey authenticity but not so much as to alienate or discomfort the reader. Additionally, the writer faces the challenge of ensuring the essay is relatable. While personal stories can be powerful, they need to resonate with a broader audience. Crafting an essay that bridges the gap between the individual and the universal can be a formidable task, requiring a keen understanding of human emotions and a skillful use of language. Furthermore, the writer must navigate the potential pitfalls of self-deprecation. While humor can be a valuable tool, there is a fine line between lightheartedness and undermining the essay's integrity. Striking the right tone is a delicate dance that involves acknowledging the embarrassment without diminishing its impact. In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of embarrassment is no small feat. It demands a willingness to delve into personal vulnerabilities, a mastery of storytelling, and a nuanced understanding of the emotional landscape. Navigating the complexities of this topic requires finesse and a thoughtful approach. However, for those seeking assistance or inspiration in tackling similar writing challenges, there are resources available. A variety of essays, on topics both embarrassing and otherwise, can be found or even ordered on platforms like HelpWriting.net. These services offer support and guidance for individuals navigating the intricate art of essay writing. Embarrassing EssayEmbarrassing Essay
  • 2. Roger Ebert On Groundhog Day The poetry of Rumi and the review of Chicago Sun Times writer Roger Ebert on Groundhog Day both agree the view of human growth is determined by the heart and not the body. Rumi believes that a person has to go through two worlds (heaven and hell) to give up their life and become a better person. According to page 30, lines 1 4, Rumi says, To dance is not to jump to your feet and rise painlessly in the air like dust. To rise above both worlds is to dance in the blood of your pain and give up your life. Rumi believes that victory is not only accomplished when the path taken to solve a situation is the facilitated one. But, that victory should be achieved when a person is able to get back on their feet and improve themselves. Rumi establishes pathos when he uses words such as pain , blood , and life which evoke strong... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To use such words, Rumi expresses the different point of views on life. He intends to make the reader realize that sacrifice is worth the pain and blood, because at the end you would be dancing of joy in the blood in which you fought and succeeded. This is shown in the review of Chicago Sun Times writer Roger Ebert on Groundhog Day. Ebert believes that a person needs to go through something devastatingly drastic to actually learn from the experience. According to the third paragraph, Roger Ebert says, The movie, as everyone knows, is about a man who finds himself living the same day over and over and over again. He is the only person in his world who knows this is happening, and after going through periods of dismay and bitterness, revolt and despair, suicidal self destruction and cynical recklessness, he begins to do something that is alien to his nature. He begins to learn. Ebert establishes pathos by including words such as suicidal self destruction, cynical recklessness to show how people need to go through certain experiences to actually learn, agreeing
  • 3. Characteristics Of Japanese Maple Trees Japanese Maple trees are a great edition to any yard. They are an elegant looking tree, with soft, delicate looking leaves that can add dimensionality to your yard. To keep your Japanese Maples in good health, you need to be aware of the three most common tree disease that infected Japanese Maple trees as well as what to do about these diseases. Anthracnose Disease Anthracnose disease is caused by fungus and generally affected Japanese Maple Trees that are planted in areas that are warm and experience frequent humidity. Disease Characteristics On your Japanese maple, the most common visual sign of Anthracnose are small spots on the leaves. These spots are usually either yellow or brown in color. The spots start out dotting your leaves. Over time, the spots expand until they cover up almost the entire leaf. Yellow or brown spots can also appear on the twigs on your trees. They generally appear on new growth. Treatment Prevention is the key with anthracnose. Make sure to not overwater plants. Do not get the leaves wet when watering; use a drip sprinkler instead to water your trees. Put compost around the base of your Japanese Maples to keep the soil healthy. To get rid of anthracnose once it is present, usually copper based fungicides are used to kill off the fungus. Infected branches can also be pruned off your trees. Bertrand Russell s Arguments Against The Existence Of God Bertrand Russell s main arguments against the existence of God and Christianity in general, started with the definition of a Christian. He gave his opinion on several types of argument for the existence of God. Such as, the cosmological, the natural law, the teleological, the moral, and the argument for the remedying of injustice. He then gave his view of the characteristic of Christ, the defects in Christ s teaching, and how the churches have retarded progress. In the process of reading Bertrand Russell argument, he has made some valid points, but also made some unsound judgment. I think Bertrand Russell critique is fair in that a lot of people in today s society has a loose definition of what a Christian is. A Christian is not just someone that lives a good life. A Christian should portray a dogmatic nature, and believe in Godand immortality. However his argument is contradictory in the first cause, he first claims that if everything must have a cause, then God must have a cause. Then he opposes his argument by stating, if there can be anything without a cause, it may just as well be the world as God. In my opinion this is poor reasoning. ... But it has been said, the devil knows the bible just as good, because he was once an angel in heaven. I have found his critique to be rather convincing, because it may either stimulate a person to evaluate their beliefs; or it may be an awakening to a profess Christian, that do not know the word of God, and realizes that an atheist knows more about the Christian faith than the Christians

Cold Blood By Truman Capote The novel, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote would be a good, diverse addition to the ENG 3U course for many reasons, beginning with how the novel is non fiction, but still manages to create a story line, while remaining appealing for the reason that it differs from most novels on course syllabus to the way the author can make you feel for the characters. In Cold Bloodis a novel written about a real life event that happened in Holcomb, Kansas, 1959. A family of four is murdered in their house in cold blood. While this seems intriguing enough, Truman Capotekeeps the entire novel interesting by being descriptive in the way characters are described Marie examined the frontВview and profile of Smith: an arrogant face, tough, yet not entirely, for there was about it a peculiar refinementНѕ the lips and nose seemed nicely made, and she thought the eyes, with their moist, dreamy expression, rather prettyВВrather, in an actorish way, sensitive. Sensitive, and something more: mean. Though not as mean, as forbiddenly criminal, as the eyes of Hickock, Richard Eugene. Marie, transfixed by Hickock s eyes, was reminded of a childhood incident of a bobcat she d once seen caught in a trap, and of how, though she d wanted to release it, the cat s eyes, radiant with pain and hatred, had drained her of pity and filled her with terror. • 6. Jesus, The Son Of Man For numerous believers, the question remains curious of why the term Son of Man was used by Jesus in self representation. Particularly intriguing is Jesus use of this identification since God s attributes are not fully comprehended in scope or of nature in their entirety, save what has been revealed to us in Scripture. Therefore it is humbling to realize that Jesusmakes such a firm association with mankind. Combined with Jesus humanity there still remains distinctive from His title, the means which He uses to address (Moule, 1978) Himself. 1 among those who still believe that it is Dan. 7 that gives it, in the Gospel tradition. it s decisive colour. There is some dispute over the nature of Jesus mission with how (Van Aarde, 2005) future events would be shaped by Christ. Scholars have divided themselves into three camps. Some say Jesus was a wisdom teacher and, according to these scholars understanding 5, it seems that wisdom excludes an apocalyptic mind set. Others disagree 6. But there is also a third option 7. According to these scholars, both presence (immanence) and future (eschatology) exist within the spectrum of Jesus vision. This complexity is interwoven with the problem pertaining to the continuity and/or discontinuity of the son of man sayings by Jesus and those by the Jesus groups after his death. I believe that the Daniel 7 linkage to Jesus use of Son of Man will justify an apocalyptic inclusion, these facts do not disbar Jesus present or future activities. Aramaic, Hebrew or Greek? The case of whether or not Hebrew or Aramaic was used by Jesus in the utterance of Son of Man is difficult to ascertain since Hebrew was used simultaneously in worship while Aramaic was used in other daily living areas. Aramaic is considered the common language evidenced by the findings of documents or fragments which proved to be items of textual contracts plus other written documents of everyday life. Consequently, all of these findings have been found to be written
  • 7. The Environment And Its Effects On The Natural Carbon Cycle Adam, Caroline, John Part I 1. One sustainability issue would be that growing one type of food species can disrupt the natural carbon cycle. Like in the biosphere 2 where the residents ended up growing just sweet potatoes, it is thought that the sweet potatoes and the plants in the area disrupted the carbon cycle and this ended up overpowering the atmosphere dropping the Biosphere oxygen levels from 21% to 14%. This does not create a sustainable environment. Another problem would be biodiversity, and the lack of different plant species. The more diversity there is in terms of plant species, the more resilient they become. Since there wouldn t be very many plants on Mars, the plants would be prone to harm that would ruin its sustainability. Reduced diet diversity will be a challenge while astro farming on Martian soil. To keep the area small and combat this issue, an efficient Mars diet should be strictly vegan and will not include fruits or nuts from trees. 2. The two challenges would be time and space limitations. For time limitations, you can t wait an extended period of time to have a crop grow. You need food as soon as possible in the most sustainable way possible, so time in not on our side. In terms of space, growing all the crops in a cluttered, enclosed environment probably isn t something that is beneficial for the crops. Obviously on Mars, you work with what you got, but not having space to spread out the crops and use techniques that are typically used to grow

The authors concluded that while increasing gastroenterology capacity is important (i.e., capital and funding availability, plus searching the local labor market for gastroenterology physicians, nurses, and physician assistants), it may not be as beneficial as redirecting the focus on healthcare system process changes. Access limitations may be due to suboptimal management of current capacity rather than inadequate levels of capacity (Powell et al., 2009). As the largest healthcare system in the world, the VHA cannot rely solely on hiring and training more gastroenterology staff when process management is also in urgent need of simultaneous, coordinated improvement. As a response to this colossal demand to expand gastroenterology trained and credentialed providers to perform colonoscopy, a small number of VHA facilities and gastroenterology departments sought new and innovative ways to build provider and space capacity to mitigate this challenging, unmet need. Dr. Jason Dominitz, National Program Director for Gastroenterology Patient Care Services, reported there are at least a half dozen or more credentialed nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) performing colonoscopy at various VHA facilities. Alan Sugar The Printing Press, a 15th century invention, allowed scholars to print and distribute their work throughout Europe. Church authority denounced the spread of scientific ideas encouraged by the invention of the printing press. They banned scientific works, like Galileo s Sidereus Nuncius, as academics published their research. Roman Catholic Church authority advocated for biblical ideas, which opposed scientific studies like the heliocentric theory and the study of kinetics. Ecclesiastical doctrine contested the heliocentric theory, Galileo s research, and Newton s laws of motion, demonstrating the incompatibility between scientific studies and theology. Copernicus challenged the Roman Catholic Church with his Heliocentric Theory. In his book De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium Libri VI, he explained his theory: the hypothesis that planets revolved around the sun rather than the Earth (Williams, L.Pearce). His proposition contradicted Bartolomeu Velho s geocentric theory, a view more compatible with church doctrine, suggesting that all motion centered around Earth (Velho Bartolomeu). The Bible established that [God] set the earth on its foundation, therefore [Earth] can never be moved (Psalm 104:5). By claiming that Earth remains stationary rather than revolving around the sun, the Church sided with Bartolomeu Velho. In contrast, Copernicus questioned the Church, asking why we [do] not admit, with

It ended Spanish ruling in the Americas and resulted in the expansion of territories in the Pacific and Latin America for the US. During this period of imperialism, there were many influences driving the U.S. government. The war started with Cubastruggling to gain their independence from Spain. However, Spain rejected their notions by brutally stopping the Cuban rebellion. Newspapers began portraying Spain as spiteful and the sympathy for the Cuban rebels rose in America. William Randolph Hearst was responsible for exaggerating the truth in the papers about the fight for independence from Spain. Hearst invented a term called yellow journalism , which exploits, distorts, or exaggerates the news to attract readers. A truce was called and Spain allowed Cuba to have limited power of self government. Nevertheless, the demand for the US to intervene with the conflict grew and it resulted in the sinking of the USS Mainein the Havana Harbor in Cuba. The battleship had an explosion that resulted in 260 sailors dead. The explosion was thought to have been caused by the Spanish even though it was never proven. This led to the start of the war. A solid argument is made by showing that lots of deaths are due to vehicle rollovers because SUV s account for the majority of these types of crashes. When the composer first arrived on the scene, the usual name given to a string quartet composition was actually considered a divertimento . This title was a general term to describe any one on a part type instrumental music that was compatible with a variety of different music scorings, styles and character. It wasn t until about 1780 that modern titles /terms such as the quartet and quintet become common for serious chamber musicin the now standard scoring. In fact, examples of serious works can be found during Haydn s op.9 (1769 70) early divertimentos, with a cello playing the bass line. This serious work of Haydn also incorporated a new idea within the world of string quartets, a four movement scheme. Throughout the four movements the textures were varied, having moments of a possible elaborated homophonic trio sonata style , paired with a more contrapuntal polyphonic style. Another characteristic that encouraged stylistic growth were the various fugal moments being introduced throughout string quartet music during this time. The Viennese set k168 73 (1773) by Mozart illustrates an irregular phrase construction,

The Maharaja of Kashmir at the time fled to India and offered a deal to let Kashmir be under Indian control if India would defend Kashmir from further invasion. India agreed and immediately sent out troops to fight off the Pakistani invaders. Per the agreement, the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir makes up about 45% of Kashmir. Pakistan controls three areas known as Azad Kashmir, Gilgit and Baltistan, which make up about 35% of Kashmir. Finally, China controls one area called Aksai Chin equaling to 20% of Kashmir. The people of Kashmir have the same rights and privileges as any Indian citizen. The government of India has built schools, hospitals and police stations for the Kashmiri people. But, the people of Kashmir preferred to be a part of Pakistan due to their Islamic beliefs. Pakistan does not acknowledge the control of Kashmir by India and still considers it their land. Many medications can cause erectile dysfunction, but the following are the most common culprits. Antidepressants Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) like Prozac and Zoloft have long been associated with sexual dysfunction, but the relationship has never been clear. American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton on May 21, 1881, but before the American Red Cross came into America it was and international movement that was founded by a young Swiss man named Henry Dunant. To know that 40,000 men are laying dead or alive and wounded from a war that soldiers fought for us in the civil war, yet there were no medical attempts to save lives, made Dunant organize local people to help wounded soldiers. The locals helped with wounded soldiers by feeding, and comforting them when in need. This exact quote represents the initiative I plan on taking to promote social justice. Though I have yet to make a humongous contribution to the progress of society, I am steadily working towards it. The need for social justice is everywhere due to the acts of injustice that people, primarily minorities, face everyday. This includes police brutality, racism, and discrimination. That being said, action must be taken and I will do my part by starting in my own community Atlanta,GA. On July 7th, 2016, Michael George Smith Jr. was found hanging from a tree in Piedmont Park. In addition to Michael s death, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were both killed earlier that week. Both whom were unarmed and not disturbing any peace, yet were still shot and killed by the police. In response to all three of their deaths, protests erupted throughout downtown Atlanta. The day of the protest, my grandma and I were both watching the news, seeing everything that was happening. In the midst of us watching the news, she mumbled damn, 50 years later and ain t none changed . It then began to dwell on me that when it comes to police brutality, protesting has not changed anything. Even back in 1992, when the LA riots occurred after the Rodney Kingbeating, all of

The Main Four Factors And Components Of Social Perception Social Perception Social perception is the process of interpreting information and making assumptions about others in order to attach meanings based on what we can observe. Social perception also refers to using social cues and available information to evaluate others. People rely on social context when judging others as it strongly influence how we label people and their behaviors. Social perceptions can also be flawed because observers can misinterpret others and come to the wrong conclusion. It is important to understand the concept of social perception because it allows individuals to recognize their own bias when forming impressions about others. Understanding social perception may even help individuals overcome these challenges by responding appropriately in certain situations. Moreover, it is innate for people to try to predict and understand the behavior of others around them. People tend to evaluate others based on various things and how we perceive people and situations can influence our attitude and behavior as a result. The main four components that influence the social perception of others include observation, attribution, integration, and confirmation. The first component of social perception is observation, which is associated with three factors including the person, situation, and behavior. People normally focus on the physical characteristics, context from prior experiences, and nonverbal communication of others when collecting evidence to support their
  • 31. Essay on The Sophistication of the Brain To what extent is it true that the brain is a sophisticated information processor? The human brain is the most important part of the nervous system. The brain along with the spinal cord makes up the central nervous system and together they control all of the body s important functions, such as motor functions, speech, vision, hearing and also involuntary functions like breathing. Many of these functions are localised to a specific area of the cerebrum. The cerebrum is split into four lobes; the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital lobes, which are specialised to carry out their different roles. The cortex is divided into two hemispheres; the left hemisphere is associated with motor control, speech and language functions and logic; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They both transmit information by using electricity; however, the brain uses chemical messages as well as electrical impulses. A computer can process information much faster than the brain can; for example mathematical calculations can be carried out immediately on a computer rather than having to work out the answer logically like the brain would have to. However, the brain is capable of emotion, imagination and creativity, whereas a computer can only follow the instructions given to it. Another important comparison between the brain and a computer is the fact that the brain cannot be turned off unlike a computer. If any part of a computer gets damaged, it is easily replaceable. However, if an important part of the brain is in any way damaged, it can be difficult to regain normal function and near impossible to replace it. The brain is given the analogy of the hardware and software of a computer. The brain is seen as the hardware as it is the physical structure and the mind is viewed as the software. This is because software is not physical and somewhat controls what processes can be carried out on a computer. A computer has a hard disk which can store a large volume of information, which is similar to the long term memory store in the brain. Short term memory is stored in the brain, much like RAM in a computer (Lytton, 2002). Information processing

Manhood And Masculinity What this discourse about gender has revealed is that there can be no stable definition of masculinity as gender is a structure of social practice, which means that masculinity as a concept is man made and thus changes with society. Different times value different concepts of masculinity. For this, R. W. Connell coined the term hegemonic masculinity, which means that at any given time, one form of masculinity rather than others is culturally exalted. Connell goes on to describe this concept as the configuration of genderpractice which embodies the currently accepted answer to the problem of the legitimacy of patriarchy, which guaranties (or is taken to guarantee) the dominant position of men and the subordination of women (1995, 77). If ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When masculinity is normal everything else becomes deviant. As a consequence, masculinity sustains itself by abjecting that which is polluting and blurs the boundary between the natural and unnatural. Thus to define masculinity, both the female and the homosexual are abjected from within itself. The state of being unmarked is not rewarded to women by definition of gender and homosexual men by definition of sexuality. If an individual is threatening the natural boundaries of masculinity by exhibiting either too feminine traits or a different sexuality, they are considered a danger to the whole group of men. As Berkenkamp remarks: Durch Praxen des Ein oder Ausschließens, des Einschüchterns oder Ausbeutens weist die hegemoniale Männlichkeit neben Frauen auch anderen Männern einen untergeordneten Status zu (2014, 15). The homosexual man is widely considered the most dangerous threat to hegemonic masculinity as he generally resembles a proper man, but in sexual practices he can be said to resemble the female (because of the act of penetration which is generally only said to be reserved for females). Thus, the homosexual male can be seen as an extreme condition of abjection. Homophobia directed by men against men can therefore be defined as misogynistic, and transhistoricaly so. This means not only that it is oppressive of the so called feminine in men,

Together, these characters go on a pilgrimage to Canterbury and along the journey they all tell different tales. In order to write this book, Chaucer decided to go on his own pilgrimage and to also observe people in his everyday life in order to make the characters and the book itself realistic. Many authors like Chaucer will take real life experiences and incorporate them into their novels. In The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer uses the characters in order to reveal his inner most opinions of his past. Chaucer s solicitous portrayal of contrary women in The Miller s Tale can be traced back to his tolerance of the affair between his wife and his best friend. For example, Alison from The Miller s Tale is having an affair with Nicholas and warns him that My husband is so full of jealousy, unless you watch your step and hold your breath I know for certain it will be my death (Chaucer 91).
