The Copenhagen Agreement is a document that delegates at the 15th session of the Conference of Parties (COP 15) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change agreed to "take note of" at the final plenary on 18 December 2009.
The Accord, drafted by, on the one hand, the United States and on the other, in a united position as the BASIC countries (China, India, South Africa, and Brazil), is not legally binding and does not commit countries to agree to a binding successor to the Kyoto Protocol, whose round ended in 2012.

Secretary of State John Kerry will be in India this week and India should lend its support on priority for HFC phase down under the Montreal Protocol. Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Washington DC later this year can seal the deal to demonstrate that three largest economies of the world working shoulder to shoulder to take action on climate change would be good omen and a strong signal.
Socio-emotional Development (Social and Emotional development from childhood ...ArnaldoLegaspi
Social-emotional development includes the child's experience, expression, and management of emotions and the ability to establish positive and rewarding relationships with others (Cohen and others 2005).
Social and emotional development means how children start to understand who they are, what they are feeling and what to expect when interacting with others. It is the development of being able to:
Form and sustain positive relationships.
Experience, manage and express emotions.
Explore and engage with the environment.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
1. Global Policies to answer the impact of
Climate Change and Save the Biodiversity
Global Call to Climate Action of United Nation
As a campaign to fight and lessen the impact of Climate Change the United Nations include it to their
seventeen sustainable development goals on number thirteen to fifteen which are: To take urgent action
to combat Climate Change and its impact; Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine
resources for sustainable development; and Protect, restore sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystem,
sustainably manage forest, combat desertification and halt and reverse land degradation and halt
biodiversity loss.
Some of the International Climate Policies are:
United Nations Framework Conventions on Climate Change (UNFCC)
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
Montreal Protocol
Kyoto Protocol
Paris Treaty Agreement
2. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
Consist of 196 parties
Parent Treaty of 1997 Kyoto Protocol
Objective: is to stabilize green house gas concentration in the atmosphere at a level that will
prevent dangerous human inference with the climate system.
Philippines is one of its member but not part of Annex I and Annex II signatory countries.
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
Currently consist of 195 members
The leading international body for the assessment of Climate Change
Established by United Nations Environmental program (UNEP) and the World Meteorological
Organization (WMO) in 1988.
Objective : is to provide the world with clear scientific view on the current state of knowledge in
Climate Change and its potential environment and socioeconomic impacts
Philippines is one of its member
Montreal Protocol
Adopted in 1987
A protocol on substances that depletes the Ozone Layer.
The Montreal Protocol also makes important contributions to the realization of the UN Sustainable
Development Goals.
Legally enforces the phase-out of the production and use of ozone depleting substances - chemicals
often used in refrigeration, air-conditioning, foam manufacturing, aerosol production, and fire
extinguishing.
has funded the incremental costs of compliance in developing countries since 1991, a task
complemented by the Global Environment Facility in countries with economies in transition.
The Montreal Protocol has, contributed to a significant drop in total global production and
consumption of ozone depleting substances used in agricultural, consumer and industrial sectors
around the world.
Since 2010, the agenda of the Protocol has focused on the phase-out of hydrochlorofluorocarbon
(HCFCs), an ozone-depleting substance mainly used in cooling and refrigeration applications, and in
the manufacture of foam products.
Without this treaty, ozone depletion would have increased tenfold by 2050 compared to current
levels, and resulted in millions of additional cases of melanoma, other cancers and eye cataracts.
To date, the Parties to the Protocol have phased out 98% of ODS globally compared to 1990 levels.
Because most of these substances are potent greenhouse gases, the Montreal Protocol is also
contributing significantly to the protection of the global climate system.
Kyoto Protocol
It was founded during the convention in Japan
The Protocol’s first commitment period started in 2008 and ended in 2012
legally binds developed country Parties to emission reduction targets.
The second commitment period began on 1 January 2013 and will end in 2020.
There are now 197 Parties to the Convention and 192 Parties to the Kyoto Protocol.
Paris Treaty Agreement
At the Paris climate conference ) in December 2015, all participating countries adopted the
first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal.
The agreement entered into force on 4 November 2016 following its ratification by 100 of the 197
Parties to the Convention.
3. The Paris Agreement aims to be a bridge between today s policies and climate-neutrality before the
end of the century With regard to mitigation, the governments agreed:
- a long-term goal of keeping the increase in global average temperature to well below 2 °C
compared with pre-industrial levels;
- to pursue efforts to limit the increase to 1.5 °C compared with pre-industrial levels, as this
would significantly reduce risks and the impacts of climate change;
- on the need for global emissions to peak as soon as possible, recognising that this will take
longer for developing countries;
- to undertake rapid reductions thereafter, in accordance with the best available science.
Before and during the 2015 Paris conference, countries submitted comprehensive national climate
action plans (so-called intended nationally determined contributions). These are not yet enough to keep
global warming below a 2 °C increase, but the agreement outlines the way to achieve this target. Even if
the limit of a 2 °C increase (of the average global surface temperature) is adhered to, many places on
Earth will experience a higher temperature increase and climate change will have many impacts across
the globe. Adaptation to climate change has thus been recognized within the UNFCCC as an important
policy pillar (with a primary focus on vulnerable developing countries), which is complementary to the
mitigation of climate change.
