This document discusses the disruption happening in the global university system and whether this represents a threat or opportunity for XAMK campus investment plans. It notes that the current university model is like a landline in a smartphone world. Alternative disruptive education programs and concepts from around the world are presented, as well as insights from interviews with innovators and students about future learning environments. A 21UNI prototype is proposed for a 3-week entrepreneurship and design thinking program in Kotka, to help scale results and the model for the future XAMK campus. The document concludes this is a chance for XAMK to become a disruptive higher education institution and revolutionize the way learning is done in Finland.

Driving business growth through Innovation. employee engagement, and academic/community/NGO strategic cooperation:
1. The need for proactive and intentional innovation, the critical importance of the role of the leader in setting Innovation as a enterprise priority/formal strategy, creating/maintaining an "innovation culture," having an innovation system, and executing both exploitive and exploration innovation
2. Making "employee engagement" a key priority and component of enterprise Human Capital strategy and to be included in the overall company strategy -- knowing the drivers, and having metrics (Global employee engagement is 13%: "engaged employees are involved in, enthusiastic about, and committed to their work and workplace" )
3. Working and partnering with Business Management Academics and private/public partnerships to collaborate on business and community growth objectives, and for business professionals to better leverage "evidence-based" management data (e.g. the Academy of Management in US)

Philanthropy’s Essential Role in K-12 Edtech and Strategies for ImpactShauntel Poulson
Although “Record Levels of Edtech Funding” has been a recurring headline, there hasn’t been a focus on the role of philanthropy as the majority of funding is coming from the private sector. From our front line view as an active edtech seed investor, we see the need for diverse forms of capital to realize the full potential of technology to differentiate instruction and drive improved learning outcomes.
With their long view of the market and a focus on student achievement, foundations are uniquely positioned to fill existing gaps in edtech funding. For example, additional sources of capital are needed to provide high quality technology tools for students with specialized needs and underserved backgrounds.
So what is preventing foundations from funding edtech? How much money have foundations recently contributed to edtech? Which foundations are leading the way and what innovative approaches are they taking? Find out in Philanthropy’s Essential Role in K-12 Edtech and Strategies for Impact, an analysis of the current state of major foundations and K-12 edtech funding.
We hope foundations will use this research to find ways to support the K-12 edtech ecosystem given their mission and capacity.

National Innovation Council (NInC) was setup under the Chairmanship of Mr. Sam Pitroda, Adviser to the PM on PIII to discuss, to analyse and help implement strategies for inclusive innovation in India and prepare a Roadmap for Innovation 2010-2020. NInC would be the first step in creating a crosscutting system which will provide mutually reinforcing policies, recommendations and methodologies to implement and boost innovation performance in the country.
This book highlights some of the key initiatives that NInC has taken in last four years to promote innovations in the country.

A road map for leading change. How do I build engagement and motivation across our whole organisation?
Why yesterdays approach to innovation wont help us in the future slide shareTheThinkingHotel
Thought-provocative and inspiring presentation by John Boult, at "the Moon" the evening before Change Play Business started. Great examples of what is changing, was unthinkable for established businesses, and caused deep shifts in our world...
Thank you John Boult for such inspiration, and thank you viewer for exploring ideas with us!
Studying designers and change makers, I found several attitudes that it condensed into two mindsets: leap and craft. Those two mindsets allow organizations and individuals to be more aware of the present situation and agiler in developing meaningful solutions. Based on several cases studies I will discuss this concept and how it is positively impacting groups and organizations today.
The maker revolution is here. Everyone can be a maker. Children are creating all sorts of STEAM projects. Teachers from all levels are being trained to integrate maker-based projects in their classrooms. It is the Gold Rush of micro-prototyping technologies, robotics, 3D printing, laser cutting, electronic embroidery and embedded wearables. This is partly driven by the open-source electronic market emerging from Shenzhen, online DYI communities, data sharing over the Internet, but mostly by the worldwide movement driven by the 4th industrial revolution.
The next workforce will be faced with the new demands of a ubiquitous, mobile and ambient Internet of connected objects fed by AI and machine learning (Schwab, 2016). By 2025, the World Economic Forum (2015) predicts several technological tipping points, namely 10% of people wearing clothes connected to the internet, 1 trillion sensors also connected to the internet, the first robotic pharmacist, the first 3D printed car in production, and the first implantable mobile phone available commercially. This will bring unprecedented changes because they will arrive at a speed that will affect all our systems in all continents. They will force us to revise the nature of how we live, how we interact with each other and how we work.
Maker education is part of the solution to prepare the next generation workforce because it confronts learners to programming languages, robotics, additive manufacturing, prototyping, the internet of things and the sensing environment. More than just knowledge about these topics, learners have to develop competencies that will prepare them for a complex and ever-changing world that even experts cannot yet imagine. In this talk, I will present the global context for maker education and an operationalized definition of how to develop competencies in this context. I will also present results of several studies on this topic. More specifically, I will discuss fundamental maker knowledge, attitudes, resources, and how to design activities to mobilize competencies to complete multi-faceted projects or solve complex problems.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
