Screencasting is a free, easy way of making recordings in your classroom. Whether your students create screencasts for project-based learning or you create them for flipping your classroom, you'll love these relevant ideas and free tools for enhancing your classroom.
Screencasting is an easy (and FREE) way of making recordings in your classroom. Whether your students create them as they do project-based learning or you create them as you flip your classroom, you’ll love these relevant ideas and free tools to take screencasting to your classroom.
Attendees should be able to answer these questions after attending this session:
1. What is screencasting?
2. What tools can my students use to create screencasts and what is the process?
3. What are some example ideas for student creations and teacher creations?
Flipping Learning: the Good, the Bad, and the UglyStaci Trekles
A look at the various options and tools for flipping the classroom, why this approach can work, and how it can backfire on even the best teachers.

EMMA webinar series: Capturing and delivering effective video as part of your MOOC including the innovative use of video to enrich your learning offer
MOOCs have always been associated with intensive use of video, early MOOCs were based almost entirely on video recordings of lectures, discussions, talking heads or interviews, and even though the production value may be modest, video still remains one of the highest costs on a MOOC budget. Increasingly the question is raised which kinds of videos lead to the best student learning outcomes in a MOOC? And which production techniques and methods provide a higher learning efficiency. In this webinar, we provide an overview of both production techniques and pedagogical approaches related to the use of video in MOOCs. This webinar aims at encouraging MOOC authors to explore new ways of using video.

Create Mr & Mrs Potato Head on screen in French. Useful for body parts, clothes, colours, size and creating phrases and sentences with adjectival agreement.
Although can't see from Slideshare, last four slides have various body parts and clothes to drag onto slides so children can create own versions and describe them. Should work correctly if you download PPT.

Example slides from a Hyperlinked True/False PPT for use with IWB or by pupils in ICT suite. Duplicate slides and customise them for the structures/vocabulary you are practising.
Written in French but could be adapted for any language.
Based on the brilliant Word Tennis game by Mark Purves at www.souffler.co.uk
Timed ping pong game for practising vocabulary. Give a topic, then 2 teams have 15 seconds to answer on their turn. If answer in time click to bat ping pong ball across to other team. If the team cannot answer, opponents win a point. Add as many slides as you need and amend timers as required. This timer and others available free from Dave Foord's site at http://www.a6training.co.uk/index.php
NB - Timers and animation will work when PPT is downloaded!
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
1. Getting started with Screencasting Jackie Berry – ICT Links into Languages Conference Southampton - Feb 2011
2.
3.
4.
5. How many apps do you use with your pupils as part of your teaching? How confident (or competent) are they when using them?
6. ...or support them when you have set a task for homework? Wouldn’t it be great if you could remind them how without repeating yourself...
7. Tutorial for Voki recorded using Jing Which applications might you want to create tutorials for?
8. but screencasts can be more than just a useful way to demonstrate computer and web tools...
9. ... you can also use them as reminders of your lesson content... ... or to address specific difficulties from the lesson – e.g. grammar points or vocabulary.
19. A Fantastic resource for languages teaching, however... ... you can’t embed sound files, so it’s not easy for non-specialists to read a story to the class.
20. But if you use a screencasting tool after creating your story...
31. Got an Interactive whiteboard? There’s in-built software on many Smart &promethean boards... http://www.whiteboardblog.co.uk/2010/12/screencasting-with-iwb-software
32. So, once I’ve made them, How do I save and share my screencasts?
33. Save them to your computer... ...or online. avi, mpeg, mp4, wmv, swf... Jing gives 2MB free storage at www.screencast.com I use RealPlayer to convert between formats. Free download http://uk.real.com/realplayer
34. I share them on our vle... ... but you can also embed them into websites & wikis or send email links to online content.
