In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. The most loving thing I can do is to save someone from Hell. Begin with demonstratable love. Attitude of love. Act of love. We aren’t co signing their backslidden lifestyle but you are moving on a mission and with a plan.
We are too casual about wanders. Here’s what Peter has to say about them.

Christ’s doctrine-2 John 9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.
The 2 John 1–2 The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all who know the truth, 2 because of the truth that abides in us and will be with us forever:

Got this! There are those out there who are a good example of doing nothing because they are separated from the vine.

Process- unfruitful, nothing helps, they are pruned and don’t respond. They are separated from the vine and begin to dry out. They have a fate to be thrown into the fire. Hell
God gives a message of warning for us in the book of Hebrews. Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.
Drift from what we heard and believed. Pay attention means to put into action not just be aware. It is harder to drift if you are actively going in a positive direction.

Neglect. Unused, not active. Notice spiritual gifts are mentioned. The purpose of our salvation is not just to make it to heaven but to do the will of the Lord. You are called to be a city on a hill

tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are
crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.
Disgrace in public. Contempt for what Christ has done by not being fruitful. It is impossible for man but all things are possible with God. This person has been enlighten, filled with the Spirit, heard form God and use the power of the Spirit.
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.
Judgement- Willful sinning.
We see the seriousness of the backslider be need to rescue him at all costs. Jude 20–21 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
