1861~ Wilhelm I succeeded
Frederick William for the throne
1864~ Prussia and Austria
became an alliance and won two
provinces from Denmark
1866~ seven weeks war
1871~ King Wilhelm I was
crowned “Kaiser” (emperor)
1914~ 99 years of peace ends
Enemies
France
Declared war on Prussia in
1870
Prussia used France to make
them look stronger when
defeating them in battle
Denmark
Prussia expanded into
Denmark in 1864
The expansion was possible
with help from Austria

Was a constant ally and
would help gain territory
