Unit 22: Task Two
Generate ideas and plan the script for a media product, in response to a client brief.
SCRIPT TITLE:
Italian
WHAT IS THE SCRIPT FOR?
My script is for crime/drama genre movie.
Film4 is company which script is created for.
Script is fiction because none of the situations had place.
BRIEF & WHAT YOU WILL PRODUCE
Channel 4 is looking for a script for a new movie, wide audience production. Following the Crime
/ Drama genre I need to create script 6/10 minutes long, for scene which will be part of movie.
CONTENT
Vintage mood of criminal movie, with little bit of Italian aesthetic.
dark scenery
More Males than Females,
Main Character will be male person with Italian blood, old fashion person who is building his
empire and meets everyday businessman of mafia family situations. That can interest male
audience. People are interested in how someone is getting success.
The Movie is based in 80/90s in UK And Italy, also in Europe that targets also American as
European audience In Movie. We can also find some interesting, rare cars, what will be
interesting for fans of motorsport, which would be another niche for the potential audience.
GENRE
The Crime Drama genre will be represented by high production values, a strong narrative, a good
range of characters, and by focusing on illegal actions, investigations, and the drama that
surrounds them. Themes like crime, law enforcement, justice, and the psychological drivers of
criminals and detectives are frequently explored. Main protagonist Is strongly representing
typical for this genre character values and `
LANGUAGE TO BE USED & WHY
Unit 22: Task Two
Generate ideas and plan the script for a media product, in response to a client brief.
Italian’s script in certain moments will contain Elaborate code, in this type of movie genre
Elaborate code is very important as I kind of part of good Crime/Drama movie. Usually,
Characters who are deeply connected, for years and are coming from the same culture or place
are going to use words less known for wider audience, which have meanings. That will give the
audience questions which they can research and get deeper into the topic of the script. When
heard by a specific group of people they would know deeper meanings. Depending on situations
mode of address would be different, there are several moments when used language will be
informal, very relatable for most of audience, specific language and accent characteristic for
Crime Drama. My script is going to be entertaining
NARRATIVE STRUCTURE
The Structure of my script is going to be divided to 3 parts, which makes it a three-act structure
for narratives that includes setup, conflict, and resolution. The world, conflict, and characters are
introduced in the setup. The conflict is developed during the confrontation, and the characters are
faced with challenges. The conflict is resolved, and the story reaches its culmination in the very
end but leaves space for continuation.
This type of Narrative structure is very characteristic for Crime drama genre and will be also used
in my case.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Main character: j
Long dark blond hair, old fashion swept back hair
Tall – around 185 cm (about 6.07 ft), build men
Very elegant person
His inspiration is Robert de Niro from Casino
His life Is strongly connecting with nightlife and business
Quiet but charismatic, very strong character who decides for himself.
He wears suits and Golden watches, additionally with Ring with stone
In the car, he drives with gloves. He loves old cars.
He is a protagonist who Prioritize family and people who are close to him, Aswell as love.
ANGLE OF ARTICLE
To most accurately target my audience of Crime Drama genre, I will try to get most characteristic
ways of scenes forming, and narrative explanation of situations. Drastic scenes done in a smart
way are an important part of this genre, that is going to be one of the unique selling points among
the others. To make Audience be able to Dark scenery in the background is going to add a little
touch to the whole feeling of the story.
Unit 22: Task Two
Generate ideas and plan the script for a media product, in response to a client brief.
FORMAT & LAYOUT CONVENTIONS
The script includes title page which will include Title and screenwriter. It will include slug line
which will tell crew that scene is indoor or outdoor, and what time It is. Brackets will be used to
identify when character speaks after their line has finished. The characters' names are in capital
letters. Each page should have 55 lines. Page numbers are positioned in the top right corner with
a 0.5-inch margin from the top of the page.
TYPEFACE
The font is courier, and the size is 12
TARGET AUDIENCE
Crime drama characteristics have very strong writing of story line, very old school type of genre
which will target especially older audience and new crime drama lovers, people who would like
to explore genre for first time. Both genre characters are going to attract both audiences. There
will be an female character with strong beliefs and impendence, to interest female an audience,
woman who is watching movie can appeal to that character. I will use one of the niches which are
cars to interest more wider audience connected with that niche
