Networking Externally Personal Connections Some of our students know business owners Local Business Owners We received funding from a local bakery Other Community Members We used the internet to connect Local Non-Profits and Foundations We attended an int’l development conference
Developing Partnerships Relationships based on Common Interest Donors with a passion for business, and development will have a passion about ensuring your project and group success Think about your in-country project, and find local entrepreneurs in the US who are doing similar work Think of donors as partners Ask for their advice and expertise Keep Them informed through project reports, meeting invites and events
Sustaining Relationships Follow Through Debrief donors after each brigade, explaining the results of their donation, and the new needs that have developed They know that success is long-term, and will value it more if they feel a personal commitment Develop a structured commitment Ask for long-term commitments, and set up structured donation plans for your org. Invite them to come on a brigade!
