The document presents CartoService, a web-based system for automated cartographic visualization of geospatial data. It consists of loosely coupled services that implement tasks in the map design process like data integration, filtering, generalization and symbolization. These services are arranged in a workflow to generate quality maps from web-based inputs. A map configurator scenario demonstrates how users can customize maps by modifying visualization parameters, which are processed by CartoService to update the map design. The system aims to make expert cartographic knowledge available online to facilitate effective map visualization.
Geographic Information Systems Based Quantity Takeoffs in Buildings ConstructionIDES Editor
Paper presents a Geographic Information System
(GIS) based quantity takeoffs methodology, which is helpful
in increasing the productivity of quantity estimator by reducing
the manual work in quantity takeoffs. Proposed methodology
also reduces the missing or duplication of various items of
work by visualizing each components corresponding to the
items in space. Several scripts developed within ArcView3.2
were used to extract the necessary dimensions from the
drawings and to perform various calculations for quantity
takeoffs. Accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) may be generated
on the basis of dimensions of various data themes in GIS.

The urban transportation systems are very complex in nature, they combine different modes of transportation over a limited space in high density areas with increasing transport demand.
With variety of information needed in the field of Transportation, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is used as a valuable tool for the representation and analysis of transportation systems.

High Resolution satellite Imagery is an important source for road network extraction for
roads database creation, refinement and updating. Various sources of imagery are known for their
differences in spectral, spatial, radioactive and temporal characteristics and thus are suitable for
different purposes of vegetation mapping. A number of shape descriptors are computed to reduce
the misclassification between road and other spectrally similar objects. The detected road segments
are further refined using morphological operations to form final road network, which is then
evaluated for its completeness, correctness and quality. The proposed methodology has been tested
on updating on road extraction from remotely-sensed imagery.

An estimated 80% of all data in many form based applications can be mapped. Most of finance systems are disconnected from the GIS resulting in an incomplete view of the data.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
