1. Write An Argument Essay
Writing an argument essay can be a challenging task, demanding a careful balance of persuasion,
logic, and eloquence. Crafting a compelling argumentative essay requires not only a thorough
understanding of the chosen topic but also the ability to articulate thoughts coherently and
persuasively.
The difficulty lies not just in presenting your viewpoint but in anticipating and countering
opposing arguments. It requires thorough research to gather relevant evidence, data, and
examples to support your claims. The challenge intensifies as you strive to maintain a clear and
logical structure, ensuring that your essay flows seamlessly from introduction to conclusion.
Moreover, finding the right tone is crucial. Striking the balance between assertiveness and
respectfulness can be tricky. A successful argument essay requires a persuasive tone without
resorting to aggression, acknowledging opposing viewpoints while firmly defending your stance.
The process of refining and polishing the essay can be time-consuming. Revisions are essential to
eliminate any inconsistencies, strengthen arguments, and enhance the overall coherence of the
piece. It is not just about expressing opinions but doing so in a manner that captivates the
reader's attention and convinces them of the validity of your perspective.
In essence, writing an argument essay demands intellectual rigor, effective communication skills,
and the ability to think critically. It is a challenging yet rewarding exercise that hones one's
analytical and persuasive abilities. Success in this endeavor requires dedication, patience, and a
commitment to excellence in expression and argumentation.

Tata Motors is India s largest passenger automobile and commercial vehicle
established in 1945 Listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2004. TATA Motors
is best example that has a number of Acquisition, subsidiaries, Associate Companies
and Strategic Tie up. One can attribute the difference in the outcomes to the
differences in approaches to acquisition process. TATA employed a method which is
directly opposite to Daimler. The essence of this method lay in respecting the existing
culture rather than imposing a foreign culture. The expansion continues with the
Acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover, the world s most respectable and iconic brands.
The concept of acquisition factor that leads to successful can be understood better
with the case of Tata acquiring Jaguar and Land Rover Land Deal. The deal
basically focuses on the prime sector of automobile and the reputation of companies
at their own segment. Globally, the number and size of deals is heading toward
record levels, with cross border deals taking centre stage, as companies take
advantage of cheap financing to pursue their expansive acquisition strategies.

There are several reasons for this. The primary reason could be its decision of not
seeking to run Jaguar Land Rover operations from Tata headquarters. Instead they
decided to leave the day to day management to the executives in the England. The
deal comes out to be transformational as it moved the brand Tata Motorsfrom a
commercial vehicle and small car manufacturer to a global player with premium
brands in their list. In the fiscal year 2008, ended in March, Jaguar posted an
increase of 27 percent in retail sales, to 306,000 (Three lakh six thousand) vehicles,

6. Knight Of Labor Essay
After the civil war ended, America witnessed its rapid growth in industry,
urbanization, and capitalism. When the price of living increased, workers desired for
a better wage and working condition. Different types of worker unions appeared in
the nation, representing different interests and different groups of workers. The
Knight of Laborwanted to include all workers from different background, but it was
difficult to organize such a diverse group of workers whose demands and
bargaining power were different. The Socialist Party looked for a way to change
society fundamentally and emphasized on a class struggle of the working class
against the employer class. But they could not solve the problem of wages and
working conditions that the workers... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

urgent needs of their members (SR p.235). The federation had a rational view on
the social condition and put emphasis on the members. In local unions, AFL
organized successful strikes to get what workers wanted. In a national scale, it
could call for more general program to push the labor movement. Moreover, if its
every action was practical and adjusted to the social condition, AFL could efficiently
make a change with the employers. Labors would prefer AFL rather than other
unions because their needs can be satisfied. Unless a union satisfied its members
demand, the union could not last for a longer time and get more support to expand

patient/family involvement. Promote patient and team member understanding of
patient rights and responsibilities. Promote patient expressions of wishes pertaining

at the appropriate time manner. Patient centeredness is based on the nurse patient
relationship. The relationship between the patient and the nurse focuses on the
patient, is goal directed, and has defined parameters. (Craven, 2013, p. 78). The
nurse patient relationship has two different phases, the goal of the first phase is to
establish trust and a realistic understanding between the nurse and patient. The
second phase is the working phase, this is where the nurse and patient explore
goals and solutions to the situation. During this phase it is critical that patients are
given information that is necessary for them to make decisions (Craven, 2013, p.

Distortions of the Daniel Boone Legend and Their Impact
[1] The silent film, With Daniel Boone Thru the Wilderness, was produced in 1926: a
time of prosperity, an era without the skepticism of the modern American mind.
People were not yet questioning the stories and histories they had been taught as
children. The entertaining story told in this Robert North Bradbury film is loosely
based on the life of an American hero. However, the presence of several insidiously
inaccurate historical representations demonstrates how an entertaining film might not
be as innocent as it initially seems. This film fails to question certain key issues
concerning the Daniel Boone legend. In fact, it does quite the opposite. The creators

What is going on here?
[3] Perhaps the answer lies within a series of other, more precise questions. Who
was the real Daniel Boone? Why was this person chosen over other similar
frontiersmen by early hagiographers to be the next American hero? Who distorted
the story of Boone s life and why? What societal factors went into the making of the
Boone legend? Why was this legend still immensely popular in the 20th century?
How did With Daniel Boone Thru the Wilderness represent, or misrepresent, the story
of Daniel Boone, and why is that important? What does all of this mean to Americans
today as this nation continues to redefine itself in the early years of the new
millennium?
[4] That is a lot to consider, but with good cause. Only by asking the tough
questions and demanding accountability can a nation hope to correct its past
wrongs, learn from its mistakes, and prevent similar injustices from occurring again.
This process must begin by taking a new, more responsible look at history. Only
when the facts are gathered from every possible perspective can one begin to truly
comprehend history and its importance. What, then, are the facts behind the Daniel
Boone legend? (To learn more about Daniel Boone s life, click here to visit the

Stage six happens on days nine through thirteen. This is the stage when Fast Plants
will begin to develop the buds for flowers on its tip, or shoot meristem. Stage seven is
on days fourteen through seventeen, and in this time the Wisconsin Fast Plants
flowers will bloom, and pollination may occur.
Stage eight occurs on days eighteen through twenty. During this time, seed pods will
develop. The final stage is stage nine, which occurs on days twenty one to forty.
This will be when the Fast Plant begins to wilt and die, and its seed pods will begin
to become dry and eventually and await planting. Then the entire life cycle will begin

By this I mean that both stars and Wisconsin Fast Plants take an element that is not
solid or liquid and turn it into something else. Wisconsin Fast Plants breathe in
nitrogen and turn it into oxygen, and stars take hydrogen and turn it into helium.
Likewise is another similarity, although this one counts only for Fast Plants and
average sized stars: both will die if they run out of that element they convert, by
which I mean that if Wisconsin Fast Plants run out of nitrogen, they will die, as not
having any nitrogen is like not having any oxygen for us; they wouldn t be able to
breathe and would die due to lack of nitrogen. The same goes for average stars: if
they didn t have any hydrogen, they d die, and they convert

Portrait d une negresse (1800), by Marie Guilhelmine Benoist. The woman painted
is sitting in what seems to be a domestic setting. However, unlike many other
painted black women in the Enlightenment, she is seated alone. She is not depicted
serving a white woman or doing any labour. The white cloths wrapped around her
head and body along with the light background creates a dramatic contrast between
the light colours and her dark skin. Her breast is exposed, but she is not sexualized
like in many paintings of white women of the period. Despite her less than modest
exposure, the woman does not show any signs of embarrassment. She is not blushing
and her gaze is fixed on the viewer in neither a demure nor passionate way. In fact,
she seems nonchalant about her exposure. Portrait of Catherine Grey, Lady Manners

Enlightenment concepts of race, especially of women. The painting above is by
Thomas Lawrence, depicting a white woman. She is very pale, almost translucent,
and there is a prominent rosy blush on her cheeks. There is a clear contrast between
this painting and Benoist s painting of the black woman, as Benoist s subject shows
no pink on her skin despite showing a fair amount of skin. Uvedale Price argues that
the inability to blush places women with dark skin under women with white skin. He
calls a white woman s blush among the highest pleasures of vision that show her

12. Feminine Mystique By Betty Friedan
Strong willed, intelligent, and motivated are only some of the words we can use to
describe Betty Friedan. Credited as being the mother of the second wave of feminism,
Friedan was an influential women s right activist during the twentieth century but her
legacy has continued to strive well into the twenty first century. Friedan is the author
of a variety of books including The Feminine Mystique, which became a
phenomenon because of its powerful message to women for self exploration outside
their traditional roles. This book helped to define Friedan s role in the fight for
women empowerment and equality. It evoked emotions in many women who agreed
that they did not want to fulfil traditional roles, creating an atmosphere of change.
She was also the cofounder of the National Organization for Women(NOW), serving
as its first president and also helped to create the National Association for the Repeal
of Abortion Laws and the National Women s Political Caucus. With these
organizations, Friedan became the face of the women s movement and encouraged

and continues to be regarded as one of the most influential nonfiction books of the
20th century (Michals). It struck a nerve with all women alike, leading to a feminist
explosion (Kaplan) because of the recognition of themselves in Friedan s work
(Parry) and the familiarity shared between the women created a sense of community.
It also brought public awareness to the glamorized domestication of
13. Explain The Three Methods Of Evolving Themselves In
War...
For millions of years bacteria have been surviving to their environments and been at
war against other microorganism. This wars have lead them to creating an
unstoppable arsenal of weapons they can use to survive. Unlike virus that need a
host cell to survive, bacteria can survive anywhere since they can share their DNA
with each other. This allows bacteriato survive in places like radioactive waste, zero
oxygen environments, and even in absolute darkness. Unlike human beings who are
born with a specific genetic code, bacteria have the capability of changing that code.
Bacteria have three methods of evolving themselves in order to survive the harsh is
of conditions. The three methods are called horizontal gene transfer. The first is

So if a bacterium has a gene resistant to Penicillin dies and another bacterium picks
up that gene, now the bacterium that is alive is resistant to Penicillin. This allows
the bacteria that die to still have an influence in the colony. The second method is
called transduction or the passing of virus. Since virus are just pieces of DNA or
RNA they can latch onto genes from one bacterium and then transfer them to another
bacterium thus giving more bacteria that gene that may be resistant to a specific
antibiotic such as penicillin. The final method is called conjugation which allows
bacteria to create a gene transferring connection with each other and when they break
apart both bacteria can gain genes from each other allowing them to be resistant to
possibly two antibiotics. Horizontal gene transfer is bacteria biggest weapon against
everything we throw at them. So the question is can we evolve our own weapons,
antibiotics, fast enough to counter these methods bacteria use to survive (Hobley,

Capotetook on this journey with his lifelong friend Harper Lee as an assignment

stay, the two murderers were caught, and Capote began an involved interview with
both. For six years, he became enmeshed in the lives of both the killers and the
townspeople, taking thousands of pages of notes (www.pbs.org). His very first

written story. Capote s first book, Other Voices, Other Rooms, was published in

15. How Is Abigail Presented In The Crucible
Abigail Williams a strikingly beautiful girl, an orphan, with an endless capacity for
dissembling (Crucible, Act 1, 8 9). She is also one of the main characters in Arthur
Miller s The Crucible. The play is set during the Salem Witch Trials in the 17th
century where innocent people had been accused of witchcraft and where punished
for it. Abigail is the character that starts the accusations and threatens other girls
into joining her. She can be considered villainous for the reasons that: she chooses
to drink a charm to kill a person, she manipulates girls to lie, and she provides false
evidence to punish people she has grudges against. One of the first villainous things
Abigail does in the play is drinking a charm to murder someone. She does this since
she is jealous of John Proctors wife, Elizabeth, seeing as she and John previously
had an affair. Abigail rudely describes her as a cold, sniveling woman (Act 1, 24)

Elizabeth s familiar spirt that had pushed it in (Act 2, 74). According to her plan, a

16. A Study On Image Detection
Chapter 3. Image Detection 1.Introduction Using right algorithm, can make image
sensor sense or detect practically anything. Image sensors are one of the important
sensors been used in robotics industry because they are so flexible, but there are
two drawbacks with these kind of sensors: 1)they output lots of data, dozens of
megabytes per second, and 2) processing this amount of data can overwhelm many
processors. And even if the processor can keep up with the data, much of its
processing power won t be available for other tasks. Pixy cmucam5 solved these
two problems by intelligent way, it faced and solved these problems by paring a
powerful dedicated processor with the image sensor. Now pixy can processes
images from the image sensor and only sends the useful information (e.g. position
of object been assigned before by giving its x and y orientation) to whatever
microcontroller you have. This microcontroller then use this data as input then
process it to the actuators. Pixy does this data analyzing and processing at rate
(50Hz). And information which processed by pixy can available through several
interfaces: UART serial, SPI, I2C, digital out, or analog out. So it is easy to
communicate with pixy with Arduino or any other microcontroller and at the same
time still have a very large or plenty of CPU available for other tasks. Fig (1) I/O

regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development,
implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies

government divided the land on Big Mountain Reservation for the purpose of

government split up the land where these tribes resided and transferred portions of
the land to private ownership. This caused many of the natives to relocate from this

18. Workers Compensation System
Workers compensation provides cash and medical benefits to workers who are
injured or become ill in the course of their employment and benefits to the
survivors of workers killed on the job. Benefits are provided without regard to fault
and are the exclusive remedy for workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths. Nearly
all workers and employers in the United States are covered by workers
compensation and each state, with the exception of Texas, has a mandatory
workers compensation system. In 2105 more than 135 million workers accounting
for more than $7.1 trillion in wages, were covered by a state or federal workers
compensation system. When a covered worker is injured becomes sick or dies as a
result of his or her employment, that worker is entitled to full medical coverage for
the injury or illness, cash benefits to replace a portion of wages lost due to inability
to work, and benefits for surviving family members in case of death. Employers are

at the beginning of the 20th century, the civil courts were the only avenue for the
adjudication of disputes over responsibility for employment related injuries, illnesses,
and deaths, and the courts could order employers to provide compensation to injured
workers or the survivors of workers killed on the job if it was determined that the
employer was negligent. Under the common law doctrine of negligence, the

Indian s Tools: Founders of Spain
When Columbus arrived to the Americas in 1492 and discovered the so called new
world , Spain transformed it roots of a country in debt into a massive empire of
hunter of the resources that the new world had. With Hernando, Cortes conquest of
the Mexica and Fernando Pizarro s conquest of the Incas Spain s eyes turned to the
Atlantic direction. Spain began to send conquistadors to the land of resources to
obtain all the resources possible. Peru as Mexico did become viceroyalty, a region
control by the direct representative of the king, a viceroy. Viceroyalty were the
places where Spain displaced most of it attention because those places provided the
material such as Gold, silver, iron, corn, potatoes, and many more, which they were
more interesting in. These specific places provided Spain with the capital that
Spaniards needed in order to achieved a status within the Spanish society.

20. Forgiveness Is The Act Of Pardoning A Person
Forgiveness is the act of pardoning a person(s) of an offense and ceasing to feel
resentment towards them. It can be argued that the day the act of forgiveness was
introduced to mankind, was when Adam and Eve first sinned in the Garden of Eden.
Although it is not written in the Bible that Adam and Eve repented from their sins,
sought forgiveness, studying the Book of Genesis further, it can be assumed that the
action of forgiveness occurred because Cain and Abel (Adam and Eve s sons) both
made sacrifices to the Lord. The practice of sacrifice was done in thanksgiving and
for the remission of sinor forgiveness, which would have been taught to them by
their parents. God provided a way to seek forgiveness in the bloodshed of an animal.
Beginning with the animals, God, himself, killed to provide the first garment to
Adam and Eve to clothe their nakedness; thus, symbolizing the covering of their sin,
as can be read in Genesis 3:21. Recognizing that the blood shed of an animal would
never be sufficient enough to forgive man s sinful nature, God provided the ultimate
sacrifice, through the His son, JesusChrist. The shedding of Christ s death and
resurrection is powerful enough to wipe away all sin and restore mankind to his
spiritual life with the Lord. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John
3:16). Throughout the Bible God teaches that true forgiveness is a merciful act

Graffiti Vandalistic Art
Walking down the streets of New York City, on the left the entire wall is covered in
art, with a wide spectrum of graffiti, ranging from the word New York to drawings
of the Statue of Liberty and many more pieces such as gang related phrases and
drawings, the feeling of amazement is present. Graffiti, being a freelance way of
expressing good and bad emotions through art, is often frowned upon due to
vandalistic nature of most graffiti. Graffiti has been around since the late 1900 s
and it is said that The first modern graffiti writer is widely considered to be
Cornbread... who in Philadelphia, started tagging city walls to get the attention of
a girl (De Melker). Graffiti has become more commonly found in big towns and
cities. In today s, time graffiti is beginning to be more than just gangs marking
territory and evolving into its own art form. From subway cars to the sides of walls
and sometimes in art galleries, graffiti can be found anywhere. Graffiti can be
beautiful yet is very controversial form of art and is used for many different reasons.
According to Eldridge, graffiti is an ancient form of human communication and can
be found in ruins dated to early civilizations. Graffiti has transformed from people
just tagging things to a way of art. Graffiti writing eventually became bigger and
more stylized, developing from tags to pieces, short masterpieces. Piecing demands
decorative expression, artistic skill, and understanding of aerosol paint control
(Eldridge). Over the years, the way graffiti has been viewed has also changed.
Although most still see it as vandalism, those who actually like draw and are
interested in art see graffiti as its own form of art developing just like other forms
of art, like music. Although graffiti is viewed as vandalism to most there are some
cases where graffiti is used as a way of self expression. In the T.V. series Switched at
Birth, Bay
Kennish puts her art on walls, billboards, and on her car as a way of wanting her
art to be known to others. She uses graffiti and drawing as a form of self expression.

Is there a point in your life that you have to work with someone you just hate? And
the only thing you can do is embrace yourself and work with that person? Well, the
films Coach Carter and Remember the Titans both demonstrated acceptance.
Something you have to deal with throughout your life. Both movies are based on a
real story, and both having the same theme, acceptance. It is represented in many
ways, such as signing contracts with terms that the players are not willing to obey,
respecting each other, and how the players and coaches are uniting as a team. I
will explain them in the following paragraphs. Both movies had the players sign
contracts, with terms that the players couldn t accept. In the movie Coach Carter,
Coach Ken Carter made his players sign contracts stating they would maintain a
certain grade average, sit in the front row of the classes, and they have to wear ties
and jackets on game days. The players refused to sign the contracts at first, but they

How West Side Story Misrepresents Puerto Ricans
The west side story is a story about two gangs, the Sharks, who represent the Puerto
Ricans and Jets, representing the real Americans . The two gangs are ever at
loggerheads, with hatred and constant confrontations best describing their
relationship. Many critics have shot down the praise of this film, by openly stating
that, it falsely represented Puerto Ricans, by how it depicted them. The story itself is
based in the 1950s, in one of the neighborhoods in New York City. (HernГ
Ўndez
Vazquez 2002, 371). The neighborhood is a hard place to live in and from the start
we are introduced to two warring groups fighting for the control of the
neighborhood. This neighborhood is a place where ethnic and racial profiling are
strife (Sandoval Sanchez 1999, 72). This paper discusses how the west side story,
silences some of the historical injustices associated with the united states colonialism
of Puerto Rico and then try to bring out how the Puerto Ricans characters are
stereotypically portrayed in the film.
The west side story tries to silence the historical injustices associated with United
States colonialism of Puerto Rico in a number of ways. In the beginning, we are
introduced to Puerto Ricans who are referred to as the sharks, to portray them as the

For the past years, global warming and climate change became important issues of
science and the environment. However, with the realization of the possible threats it
poses to humankind in general, global warming gained international significance.
Climate change is a global problem that requires a global response embracing the
needs and interests of all countries (Boer, 2008). Countries around the world,
convinced by the threats of the global warming, choose to act hand in hand to face to
the issue. United Nations, the pioneering organization that resolves international
conflicts, organized the United Nations Conference on Environment and
Development (UNCED) in July 1992. The conference, organized a series of talks to
create a treaty whose goal is to stabilize greenhouse gasconcentrations in the
atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with
the climate system . It resulted in the creation of the United Nations Framework on
Climate Change Commission (UNFCCC), the first step of the international
community in mitigating greenhouse gas (GHG) emission. The Convention enjoys
near universal membership, participated by 195 states. By considering global
warming as a multilateral issue that knows no territorial boundaries, the treaty asks
the cooperation of the participating states in combating the issue. The framework,
although a very significant step in mitigating global warming, failed to accomplish its
targets because of its inadequate

multimedia big data analysis framework for semantic information management and

semantic representation, multimedia concept classification and summarization, and
multimedia temporal semantics analysis and ensemble learning. These three
components are seamlessly integrated and act as a coherent entity to provide
essential functionalities in the proposed information management and retrieval
framework. More specifically: egin{itemize} item A novel correlation based feature
analysis method is presented to derive HCFGs for multimedia semantic retrieval on
mobile devices. The proposed framework explores the mutual information from
multiple modalities by performing correlation analysis for each feature pair and
separating the original feature set into different HCFGs by using the affinity
propagation algorithm at the feature level. Then, a novel fusion scheme is proposed
to fuse the testing scores from selected HCFGs to obtain optimal performance.
Finally, an iPad application is developed based on our proposed system with a user
feedback processing system to refine the retrieval results. item A hierarchical disaster

The purpose of Hidden Figures was to open the public s eyes to real contributions
made by people unrecognized to society because of discrimination, a fact that was
shown through the untold story line. The movie s setting is very realistic with strong
segregation in schools, at water fountains, and the workplace. On the streets, a protest
breaks out that surprisingly, African Americanmen and women did not want a part of
because they preferred to stay distant from the trouble and potential violence.
Similarly, a run in with a policeman depicts the stereotypes of both sides being put
into action as does a library scene in which Dorothy Vaughan could not legally get the
material she needed because of the segregated literature sections. Painting
31. A Relationship Based On Paternalism And Condescension...
What was once a relationship based on paternalism and condescension between
Ashkenazi and Mizrahi Jews has gradually transformed into a more leveled
socioeconomic platform between the two ethnic groups. The Jews of Ashkenazi
descent, mainly from Eastern European countries and Britain, arrived in the decades
before the creation of the State of Israeland were able to rapidly create a new society.
Shortly after Israel s independence, massive waves of Jewish immigrants flooded the
country, of which a large part were Mizrahim Jewsfrom North Africa and the Middle
East fleeing discrimination in Arab lands. The dominant Ashkenazim viewed the
incoming Mizrahi Jews as backwards and burdensome to the newly founded country s
cultural and economic image and took measures to make them conform to their
customs. This process of conditioning ultimately led to a wide socioeconomic gap
between the two groups that prompted political clashes and riots. Recent trends and
changes in the country s political structure have narrowed the gap and point toward
equal opportunities between Mizrahi Jews and Ashkenazi Jews.
Originating in Europe, Zionism was embedded with Western leaning principles that
aimed at coalescing the Jews of the Diaspora into one unified and modernized Jewish
identity within Israel. When it was introduced to the old Yishuv, it reflected the
Ashkenazim political and cultural values, including liberal democracy and national
self determination and therefore assured their success

The book The Devil And Miss Prym by Paulo Coelho and the movie Hero starring
Jet Li even though in different languages, share a plethora of similarities. The
Devil And Miss Prym tells the story of a young woman from the village of Visco,
Chantal Prym. Her life was very simple and seemed so innocent, until the devil
walked into Visco and offered her something she so strongly felt she deserved a
way out of Visco. Of course there was a small price to pay, somebody had to die.
After this day Chantal lived with a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other,
constantly fighting to win her over. In the end Gods light shined brighter and Chantal
was able to make the right decisions. The movie, saving herself and her village. Hero
by Jet Liwas about an orphaned, nameless, assassin who blamed the King for the
death of his family, and wanted revenge. He was able to get within 10 paces of the
restless King making him believe he killed the 3 assassins that had been after him.
The king soon realized that Nameless s story did not add up and he had to be an
assassin. Even so, he chose a different fate, because of what broken sword had taught
to him. This was his highest ideal, and with that knowledge the desire to killno longer
existed, only peace, not revenge. When not blinded by hate he was able to see the

Stories had common archetypes with some playing the innocent and others the Sage,
and both stories share a philosophy and that is utilitarianism.
In both of these stories the biggest battle of all was fought within the mind of the
main character. Chantal faced this throughout much of the story as she questioned
should she steal the gold? Should she tell the villagers of the message the devil
shared with her? Should she help Berta? It was a tough battle between her morals,
her ego and what she felt she deserved after living her whole life in Visco, even
though she was different than everyone else there. In the end she ended up realizing
she wasn t so different from them after all. She was able to fight the temptation, even

The Deeper Meaning
An American poet once stated, Great literature is simply language charged with
meaning to the utmost possible degree (Pound). Every piece of literature has an
impactful underlying meaning and can be interpreted into universal symbols,
motifs, and patterns. Archetypal Criticism is a theory based off common myths,
images, and symbols in literature. The definition of an archetype can be defined as
a very typical example of a certain person or thing (Davidson). With that being said,
readers can apply Archetypal Criticism to In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia
Alvarez. Alvarez uses common character types, like the hero and the villain, and also

7. What three IT assets have been identified as more important in today s Internet age,
and why?
[Note: The three assets are presented in Figure 1.2]
Technology Assets, Relationship Assets, and Human Assets must all be managed
effectively by IT leaders in modern IT organizations.
The Technology Assets are becoming more complex and businesses are increasingly
dependent upon these resources. It is important for IT managers to help business
managers understand the value of standard IT platforms across the organization to
ensure reliable computer and communications operations.
In addition to effectively managing the technological assets, IT managers must
continually evaluate the Relationship Assets: how well the IS department is working
with business managers so that IT investment and implementation decisions are made
that benefit the organization. IT leaders who partner well with business managers are
most likely to implement IT solutions that provide value to the business organization.

was that an auditor accredited by the EPA would sign off the completed
decontamination.
A consultant issued a report to Caltex stating that the former service station site was
suitable for residential use, and the sale of the service station was completed relying
on the report. The contract of sale contained a condition that the site would be
suitable for purposes permitted by its current business zoning (in which residential
flats were also permitted). However, the council then rejected the consultants report,
as an EPA accredited auditor had not signed it off.
The purchaser engaged its own accredited auditor, who recommended reporting to the
authority that the site posed significant risk of harm to human health and the
environment because of contaminated groundwater, off site migration, vapors and the
presence of residential units down slope. Work stopped for 10 months, with the
council instituting proceedings in the land and environment court to restrain work
until an accredited auditor had validated the site, as required by its development
consent.

40. Skepticism On The Search For The Truth Of Our
Knowledge
Skepticism in the Search for the Truth of Our Knowledge
How many times have you said, No way, I do not believe it! It is our natural
tendency not to believe in something that we have not seen with our own eyes or
experienced it personally. There is a saying, seeing is believing which has led us to a
world full of skeptics. We want proof so we are not gullible fools. Skepticism, or
scepticism, as it was spelled back in the ancient times, was pondered by
philosophers who tried unsuccessfully to figure out the thought process and how
we gain knowledge. Philosophers gave deep thought to determine how we arrive
at such true beliefs and knowledge of the external world. Three such philosophers
were Rene Descartes, David Hume and Christopher Grau. Rene Descartes was a
French philosopher in the early 1600 s; David Hume was a Scottish Philosopher in
the 1700 s, and Grau an American philosopher Professor born in 1970. The
timeline s important because philosophical views have evolved over time. All three
men were from different eras, but they each explored, argued, and addressed the
topic of skepticism from their philosophical view. This proves that they take the
subject of skepticism seriously, just as we should too. There is good reason to
believe that a human s knowledge of the external world results from both a posteriori
knowledge acquired through sensory experience and a priori knowledge which is
innate. Descartes, Hume, and Grau through their personal views and skeptical
41. Short Essay On Snapshot Analysis
Today I am going to be talking about how to take beautiful and excellent looking
snapshots. All photographers strive to get the best picture they possibly can, and they
want it to look perfect. There are many ways and aspects to getting your snapshot
looking excellent, professional, and vivid.
I am going to be talking about each of the traits and their qualities. Some people
may not realize it, but there is so much more to just snapping a picture. That s not
what it s all about. One of the aspects of a picture is the focus. The focus is probably
the most important facet to taking a good snapshot. You need to make sure your
camera is focused, or else the picture is going to come out very blurry, messy, and
not looking great at all. To... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lighting is also extremely significant. It is better to take your pictures outside, but
if you cannot take a picture outdoors and have to take it inside, then make sure you
find a good area in the building that has pleasant lighting. I recommend if it is light
out, to take a picture near the window with the light coming through. Make sure it
isn t giving off too much sunlight that will make you look white and pale, but
make sure it gives you natural lighting. Natural light is the best. If you do not have
access to that, I recommend going to a room that has many lights, including
anything such as lamps or studio lights as needed. You want to face away from the
light, not towards it, or your picture will have a blurry light in the back. The thing
you are taking a picture of might not even appear in the picture if you take it
towards the light because of all the exposure, so you should keep the sun behind
you. If you are taking a picture of a person, the farther they back up from the light,
the more soft they will look. So, there is so much more to taking a picture than just
clicking the button. There are so many details and features included. All of the
attributes will make your picture come
42. The Public Life of Monuments
Part One: Notes on The Public Life of Monuments: The Summi Viri of the Forum of
Augustus
Introduction: Monuments and Memory
Simple definition for monument: a structure created to commemorate a person or
event. Monuments are used to recreate/reconstruct the past, providing a simplified
meaning to complex events. Highly selective nature of society s collective memory.
Monuments preserve the past, making one particular historical interpretation or
meaning of past events fixed or concrete. This creates the illusion of one shared
belief within a society.
However, the meaning of monuments evolve with the viewer. The authority of
monuments derived from their public s willingness to make their monuments and the

43. Chillingworth s Transformation In The Scarlet Letter
One of the sole purposes in works of literature is to follow the novel s characters
through psychological, physical, and emotional change. However, such
transformations can occasionally become fatal to the protagonist s mental and
physical state. Shown especially in The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the
author conveys the idea of destructive transformation through the embodiment of
Roger Chillingworth as seen in his relationships with others and his symbol as a
leech. Altering through such a hostile transformation thus led to the deterioration of
his morality and his ultimate demise. As one of the most renowned novel of its time,
The Scarlet Letterbrilliantly focuses on its character development and growth,

Described as intelligent, scholarly, and aged, Chillingworth was a man of
knowledge and pure reasoning. Though a flat character in the novel unlike the
complexities shown in Hester or Reverend Dimmesdale, Chillingworth gradually
deteriorated from a studious man to a symbol who carried out the devil s deeds.
Thus in his plot for revenge, Chillingworth sought to find out the man to blame for
his wife s pregnancy by taking advantage of his studies in alchemy and becoming
Reverend Dimmesdale s personal physician in his time of need. With his weakening
relationship with his wife and others, Chillingworth was thus compared to a leech
for feeding off the vivacity of his victim to accomplish his vengeance. His constant
presence became a reminder to Dimmesdale s looming fate, psychologically torturing
the poor minister s guilt stricken soul. Chillingworth s glimpse of the scarlet letter
over his victim s chest only contributed to his profound satisfaction. However, unlike
Hester Prynne s and Arthur Dimmesdale s sin as a result of love, the physician had
the intentions of pure hate and destruction. Once a man of knowledge morphed into a
creature whose soul were on fire, and

45. Social Regression Analysis Paper
Introduction: The ecosystems around us in nature provide us with many services that
humans benefit from, such as water filtration and clean air. However, these benefits
are not something many people think about how we benefit from these services since
they typically aren t something we are used to paying for. Still, people benefit from
the services offered by ecosystems everyday. Within cities, urban parks can be found
throughout the USA. Some are home to forests, wetlands, grasslands, while others
are manicured parks where plants and animals have adapted to form novel
ecosystems. Nevertheless, measuring the economic valueof those services, whether
they are from novel or natural has always been a challenge. Some services such as
air and water filtration are relatively simple to quantify, while other services like a
parks biodiversity are not. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first three regressions use a similar dependent variable as Blomquist, while the
last regression uses data only on renters. In the first 3 regressions in the sign for
the coefficients change for renter, sunshine, sewer, and number of bedrooms.
However, in the last regression only signs on the coefficients for crime, lot size,
and sewer change. Most of these changes make little sense except for the change
that relates to crime. For the second regression in Table 1 state fixed effects were
added to help account for some of the missing climate variables in the model.
Nonetheless, this did little to clear up the confusion from the regression model used
in Table 1. The results largely the same except that the coefficient for park space
has gone from 1.804% to 0.751%, and population growth went from negative to
positive. The change for the park space coefficient is likely because of how
ecosystems can vary based on the climate within a

While it is possible that the two parts could operate independently (e.g., if the cart
moving line required maintenance, people could still take the people moving line),
they were part of the same system and indeed, it would be virtually impossible to
replace one without the other because of their shared physical proximity/connections.
I am not aware of any Vermaport (or similar system manufactured by a competitor)
being installed/replaced without the people moving part being concurrently installed

Similar To A People Moving Escalator? The mechanics of the cart moving escalator

47. Relationships In The Book Of Ruth
Human relationships are found in many areas of the Bible. In the book of Ruth, a
relationship involving Ruth and Naomi shows the bond between a woman and her
daughter in law. Naomi and Ruth did not have the typical mother/daughter in law
relationship as it is portrayed in current times. Their relationship was built on loyalty,
kindness, and generosity.
The story of Naomi and Ruth began as Naomi and her family leave Bethlehem due to
a famine and ultimately settle in Moab. In Moab, one of Naomi s sons married a
Moab woman named Ruth. After some time, Naomi s husband died followed by
both of her sons. Naomi decided to go back to her family in Bethlehem after hearing
that the famine was improving. Naomi asked that her daughter in laws (Ruth and ...

Ruth worked hard in questionable environments to ensure that Naomi was taken care
of and had enough to eat. Generosity shows someone that you care for them and that
you put your needs ahead of theirs. Generosity originates in the heart without
expecting anything in return.
The Naomi and Ruth story does not have any overtly negative relationship aspects
although there is one area that is questionable. It could be seen that Naomi was
controlling as she directed Ruth s every move, especially when advising Ruth in her
relationship with Boaz. I feel, on the other hand, that Naomi was counseling Ruth in
her relationship with Boaz out of love. Controlling behavior, although not a factor in
this relationship, could be detrimental to building an effective relationship.
The Naomi and Ruth story goes much deeper than just a mother/daughter in law
story. Their relationship shows us that relationships come in many different forms
and when we find a relationship worth modeling, we should do so. Ruth and Naomi s
relationship had several themes that would render it an effective relationship by today
s measure. The loyalty, kindness and generosity shown by these two women shows us
how to build better relationships that are centered on

The Purisima Formation is extensively allocated in central California from coastal
exposures at Point Reyes in Marin County to more extensive exposures in the Santa
Cruz Mountains from the coast in San Mateo and Santa Cruz Counties inland to the
San Andreas Fault. These scattered visible rock formations are part of the Purisima
Formation because they all share a few specific characteristics: They all have
interbedded mudstone, siltstones, and very fine grained sandstones, with abundant
shell debris. The Purisima formation was created about 3 to 7 million years ago
during the late Miocene and the Pliocene through a 4 million year period of
deposition: The deposited rocks record a shift from deeper offshore conditions

I sat patiently in the 2015 Toyota Corolla, while the minutes ticked by without a
quiver of my lips. The quiet air gave me time to think about what I was soon going
to see. My excitement transcended the awkwardness and I was left with a smile,
telling Bill I was thrilled to have this opportunity. Bill is Esther s wife, whom is
second in command at the DEA. As we approached the building, I could feel the
butterflies dancing in my stomach. We passed security and were cleared to enter
the building. I grabbed my pen and paper and pushed past the doors, greeting Esther
with a warm smile. Upon entering, I noticed the giant DEA sign plastered on the
wall. I wondered why I hadn t seen any signs noting my location prior to this one.

large crystals, which was soon identified by Esther as crystal meth. I observed the
beaker for a short while, until the realization that I was holding meth sank in. I
returned it to the inside of the hood and closed the window. Esther continued to
describe each machine and its purpose then led me to the end of the lab. She
introduced me to two young chemists, Jayson and Daniel, and asked them to
explain what they do. Jayson excitedly brought over a huge bag filled with cocaine.
Noticing my curiosity, he told me I could feel the bag. Daniel then approached me
with a bag filled with what looked like volcanic rock. I poked the hard substance as
he introduced it as black tar heroin. After a long conversation with the two
chemists, Esther guided me to another room. This was the evidence room. Inside
were isles labeled A F, containing drugs dating back to the 1980s. I walked through
a couple isles, seeing bags of drugs everywhere I turned. There was a very small sent

50. The New York City s Government
New York City Government
New York City is the largest and one of the oldest cities in the United States, having
been rediscovered by Henry Hudson in 1609 while working for the Dutch East
Indies Company. New Amsterdam, as it was then known, was settled in 1614 by
Dutch fur traders and became the most important port in America. (Reed, 2011)
The two rivers flowing on each side of Manhattan grant easy access to the ocean,
and Henry Hudson remarked that the harbor was the best natural harbor he had ever
seen in the world. For hundreds of years the city has been at the epicenter of world
trade, and immigration to the new world. Millions of immigrants have filled the
streets of New York, from Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, and elsewhere.
The city of New York has not always had as positive of a city government as the
city s history may suggest, however. It has had a mixed political system since its
beginning, with its democratic principles in question as corruption has taken hold of
the city from time to time. Boss Tweed, a notorious mayor from the 1860s, was so
corrupt he was openly the mastermind of the city for thirty years. His huge profit
margins as a result of his control over the streetcar transportation system in that time
prevented the New York subway from being built until 1910. The Italian immigrants
who came from Sicily maintained traditional family ties, which soon became the
American Mafia, which controlled crime in the city from the 1920s until the
51. Faden Vs Disney Essay
The purpose of copyright law is to protect a creator and their original work from
being used without appropriate reasoning falling under fair use, as well as being
used without permission from the creator. Fair use can be defined as a doctrine that
allows portions of a copyrighted work to be used without the creator s permission as
long as it is only for commentary, parody, criticization, or educational purposes.
In the fictional case of Professor Faden versus Walt Disney Studios, I have decided to
take the side of Professor Faden. Professor Faden claims fair use in this case. He
claims the purpose of his video, containing small portions of Disney s copyrighted
movies, to be a display of education and remix. Those two, do, in fact, fall under ...

To determine a case of fair use, all of those factors must be taken into consideration
before the judge may make a final ruling.
When looking into the first factor of fair use, purpose and character used, Faden
states his point that his video is used for educational purposes. When you actually
go back and watch the video for yourself, you see immediately that the video is
clearly made in good character with good intentions, as well as that the nature of the
work is educationally based, which brings us to the second factor in determining the
fair use of a copyright case.
The second factor in the determination of fair use is indeed the nature of the
copyrighted work, as mentioned previously. As Professor Fade stated, the nature
of his video was for educational purposes, which can be observed rather obviously.
He also stated that his video could fall into the category of remix. A remix is a new
version or rendition of a previously existing work, most common in the music
industry. Professor Faden s Fair(y) Use Tale, may comprehensively be seen to be a
remix, proving to obey the second factor of fair use
52. Analysis Of Little Red Cap By Carol Ann Duffy
In Carol Ann Duffy s Little Red Cap, taken from her collection The Worlds Wife,
Duffy incorporates her feminist views on life to help develop Red Cap s character
into an independent woman. In her work, Duffy intends to illuminate for the
audience that woman are more powerful than they are perceived by society. In the
poem, she writes about a young girl at the peak of her childhood, who is about to
enter into the next phase of her life. The young, inexperienced girl describes the
beginning of her transformation into adulthood after losing her innocence to The
Wolf. The loss of her innocence contributes to the realization that she no longer
needs an old, no good wolf. She gains the courage and reflects on how her life
changes dramatically after her departure from the wolf. The poem Little Red Cap,
written in The World s Wife, closely relates to certain aspects of the original fairy
tales written by The Grimm Brother and Charles Perrault. Duffy s version of Little
Red Cap is a rewrite of the original fairy taleLittle Red Riding Hood. Duffy
incorporates her strong feminist views by allowing Red Cap to initiate her
encounter with the wolf and to use him for gaining knowledge for her career and
sexual desires. These aspects contribute to the development of Red Cap s character
into a more independent woman to contradict the oppression of women in the past
and present generations, and allowing her to offer suggestions for women in the
future. In the beginning, Red Cap s character undergoes a transition from
childhood to adulthood when she initiates her initial introduction with the wolf.
Red Cap suggests that most men do not realize the amount of power women
possess to be equal to men. She leaves her childhood behind from the very
beginning when she approaches the edge of the woods. At the edge of the forest,
Little Red Cap exclaims It was there that I first clapped eyes on the wolf (line 6).
Duffy wants the reader to realize that, in contrast to the stereotypical approach of a
male initiating a relationship, Red Cap initiates her encounter with the wolf. In the
Grimm Brothers and Charles Perrault s versions, the wolf stumbles upon a young,
naive girl who is walking all alone, and he takes this as an
53. The Conceptual Framework Of Quantity Theory Of Money
Essay
2.2 Conceptual Framework of Quantity Theory of Money
A number of frameworks have been introduced by the economists regarding the
concept of Quantity Theory of Money. Ajuzie Immanuel, et.al. (2008) opines as
The concept of the Quantity Theory of Money (QTM) was introduced in the
economic theory in the 16th century. Jean Boldin in his book reprinted in 1924
argued that the reasons for the rise in French prices were abundance of gold and
silver, monopolies, scarcity, the pleasure of princes, and devaluation of the
currency. He asserted that prices had increased higher than they were fifty years
back in France. He was primarily interested in determining the causes of the price
rise in France. According to Boldin, gold and silver were used as currency in France
and due to the over use of such items prices had increased. It was one of the first
statements that linked price movement to movements in money stock (Klein, 1970).
He noted that the increase in the supply of gold and silver used as money caused
an increase in demand for French goods, resulting in the increase of prices at home
abroad. In the 1690s, John Locke developed monetary theory and elaborated the
discussion by examining the effects of money on trade, the role of the demand for
money, and the importance of interest rate on the economy. He believed that money
is a medium of exchange in trade (Klein, 1970) and that the amount needed
depended on the quickness of circulation , which we today refer to as velocity of
