Roles And Responsibilities Of Managing Director
P1.1 Roles and responsibilities
Managing Director
The highest ranking executive of the company is the managing director. He is responsible for the
overall performance of the company and is tasked with developing and implementing a strategy that
drives the company forward with effective operation and profitable growth. He does this by building
and maintaining an effective executive team and by closely monitoring and comparing operational and
financial results to forecasts and budgets. In addition to day to day oversight, the director must
calculate an operating strategy that steers the company towards its long term objectives, taking
appropriate corrective action where deviation occurs. He is also usually the executive chosen to ...

IT In most modern companies, effective communication is supported by an IT network that
maintained by the IT team. The IT department is responsible for maintaining communication between
employees, suppliers and customers. As well as the obvious duties of installation and maintenance of a
secure computer network they are primarily there to aid computer users within the company, providing
support and training for new software and troubleshooting issues. Also attached to the network will be
printers, telephone systems, fax machines and possibly a building security system. They may also
design and maintain the company website. They may also be tasked with creating programs or
systems specific to the business such as stock control ordering inputting.
Quality The quality Department incorporates Quality Control and Quality Assurance and plays an
important role in an engineering/manufacturing company as the company succeeds by producing
goods of the highest quality for the minimum possible price. The quality department is responsible for
ongoing sampling of the product or processes to make sure it is within specification, and running as
efficiently as possible with minimal waste. They will also identify possible

Abstract
DL 2 hydroxy 4(methylthio)butanoic acid (DL HMTBA) exhibits a higher antioxidant capability in
vitro as compared to DL methionine, but the mechanism is not known. A total of 400 8 d old broilers
were allotted to a 2 [Low (14 16℃) or control temperature] × 2 (0.17% or 0.51% DL HMTBA)
factorial arrangement to investigate effects of DL HMTBA on the gene expression related to oxidative
stress in low temperature. The hepatic glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and
glutathione peroxidase (GSH Px) activities were decreased, while protein carbonyl and
malodndialdehyde content in lung were increased in low temperature (P10 fold decrease in CβS
protein levels. Therefore, it indicated that DL HMTBA supplementation may increase MAT 1A and
CβS gene expression, to enhance Met trans sulfuration to GSH, then to increase antioxidant capacity
of broilers exposed to low ambient temperature (39). Further work is needed to determine whether the

The Problems Facing The United States
We are caught in a time of our nation s history when misfortunes, mismanagement, corruption, and
leftwing ideology come together in a powerful concurrence of circumstances that leave our once
dynamic nation at risk for disaster.
Americans are a people dependent upon a meddling, incompetent government with its foot on the
necks of its citizens. As incredible as it seems, our representatives allowed dictators and corrupt
regimes around the world to control nearly everything we need for survival. Moreover, this
administration is weak and incapacitated on the world stage, making us dependent upon the very
people who wish to annihilate us.
Dozens of pressing problems challenge America today. Unquestionably, however, the two most urgent

There was a time when America rightfully boasted the greatest and most envied industrial complex
and manufacturing base in the history of mankind. However, that was before politicians decided to
over regulate, over tax, and enact never ending destructive legislation motivating business and
manufacturing to surrender and move to foreign countries offering more welcoming laws.
Further, national politicians signed unwise trade agreements with countries that placed the United
States in a subservient position on trade. Mega international corporation lobbyists became the driving
force for trade policy, and national security steadily suffered. Fair trade became a victim of an ill
conceived national policy and withered in the heat of backroom deals between money brokers and
politicians. The false narrative of free trade left our nation impotent in a world offering depressed
wages, fewer benefits, insignificant regulations, and lower taxes. Obviously, good paying jobs with
benefits vanished as we became less competitive.
International trade is an absolute necessity to a healthy U. S. economy. Unfortunately, big time money
speaks louder and more forcefully than common sense and fair economic practice. Democrats and
Republicans joined at the wallet with special interests, tragically left our national security rusting
away in hundreds of silent, inactive, and

Mesopotamia
Early civilizations from Mesopotamia to Egypt were established primarily because of the shift from
hunting and gathering to agricultural means of acquiring food. This change meant that not everyone in
a population was necessary for the group s survival and therefore, some members had free time . This
extra time allowed for advances in religion, writing, and politics, three key features of civilization. By
studying these advances, we can better learn how civilization originally looked and we can examine
the effects of their advances in today s society. With this new spare time usually allocated for hunting
and gathering, early people logically looked for reasons to explain the nature of things. These
explanations initiated the earliest forms of religion a prominent feature in the basis of both
Mesopotamian and Egyptian life.1 Mesopotamians created and actively worshiped hundreds of gods,
many of which explained different phenomena and could control how the forces of nature affected
people. The Mesopotamians, therefore, found their purpose in serving the will of the gods.2 Egyptians

wrote hieroglyphics on the inside of pyramid walls.4 These two writing styles both proved very

fragments from myths, historical annals, and magical lore and provided spells to assist the king in

Essay on The Pros and Cons of Small Class Size
Research Paper: The Different Advantages and Disadvantages of Small Class Size
Identifying Issues Regarding Class Size
There has been a lot of controversy lately about how a decrease in the number of kids in the
classrooms and could change how well a child performs in his/her schoolwork. Many researchers
believe that a small class size will have a positive effect on class achievement, but other researchers
have found that reducing class size has no advantage at all. For example, Ivor Pritchard from the
National Institute on Student Achievement, Curriculum and Assessment says reducing class size will
increase costs without producing substantial benefits (1999). From this example, it can be seen that
there have been many sources ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Tennessee s Student Teacher Achievement Ratio (STAR) project of 1997, small class size meant
having thirteen to seventeen students in a class (National Education Association). At a national level,
the U.S. Department of Education s new Class Size Reduction Program [wanted] to reduce class size
in grades one through three to a national average of 18 students. (Hopkins, 1999). William Harms
defines a regular sized class as a class of twenty two to twenty six students(2001). Based on these
definitions, a large class can be assumed to be a class with more than twenty six students.
Advantages of Small Class Sizes
Researchers have found that there are many different advantages to having a small class. Some
researchers and teachers will even say that smaller classes are a key ingredient in student success
(Weingarten, 2003).
Research projects such as Tennessee s STAR have found that a reduction in class size will produce a
variety of benefits for teachers and students. Small classes impact not only students academic
achievements, but they also benefit students social skills and relationships with their teachers.
One example of an advantage for a small class is that struggling students can receive more individual
help from the classroom teacher. Because there will be less students in a class with one teacher, the
teacher is better able to direct her attention and help to specific students. For example, a first grade

Compare And Contrast Healthcare And Us Healthcare
How is the US health care system both similar to and different from the health care systems of Britain,
Tokyo, Germany, Taiwan, and Switzerland? The US health care system has a considerable amount of
differences when compared to these countries. British health care consists of government owned
hospitals, no medical bills for citizens due to being entirely tax paid, no medical bankruptcy, and
utilization of gatekeepers to schedule appointments with doctors. In the Japanese health care system,
social insurance is employed requiring everyone to have to have a plan, there are no scheduled
appointments walk ins only, fixed prices for procedures are decided for all hospitals by a yearly
review board, and doctors don t get paid near as much as US doctors. Some of the similarities between
the systems when comparing to the US plan include: Japanese patients paying bills however they are

The British are happy with the current plan, but there have been recent strikes in order to keep some of
the smaller hospitals from being closed due to lack of government funding. German and Taiwanese
citizens are also happy with their current systems. These countries all use universal, socialized health
care. On the other hand, some doctors have varying opinions. British doctors are happy with the
compensation, despite making less than US doctors, but some do say they see far too many patients.
Most Japanese doctors think that the system is good for the country, but they get paid little compared
to the other countries and far less when compared to the US; there are no rich private doctors in Japan.
Similar to Japanese doctors, German doctors also feel undervalued and underpaid. This is mostly due
to the fixed price

Forgiveness In I Forgive The Man Who Shot Me
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. This quote by Mahatma Gandhi
describes the character it takes to forgive an individual of wrongdoing. Forgiveness results in multiple
positive outcomes for both the forgiver and the person being pardoned. Shakespeare s The Tempest,
Keating s I Forgave the Man Who Shot Me and Bettencourt s Triumph of the Heart discuss the
importance of forgiveness in terms of moving on, freeing someone of guilt and finding happiness.
In order to move on from a terrible incident, forgiveness is necessary for both sides. For example, in
Keating s I Forgave the Man Who Shot Me Debbie Baigrie was able to move on despite being shot in
the face by Ian Manuel. People would say, stay away from him, what are you doing? says Baigrie
(with Manuel). But he s a human being. He s smart. He has a lot to contribute. Why not give the guy a
second chance? (Keating 71). Relating to the theme of forgiveness, Debbie was able to move on and
forgive this man for his wrongdoings. Without Ian apologizing and Debbie forgiving, neither one of
them would have been able to move on from this incident. That is why it is essential to forgive one for
their wrongdoings. Just like this, forgiveness is key in The Tempest. Prospero is able to pardon his
brother Antonio for his wrongdoings and plotting to kill the king, because of this, the two were able to
come to peace and move on without any violence, ... I do forgive / Thy rankest fault,

Essay on Middle Passage
INTRO Examination into the true heart of experience and meaning, Charles Johnson s Middle Passage
looks at the structures of identity and the total transformation of the self. The novel talks about the
hidden assumptions of human and literary identity and brings to view the real problems of these
assumptions through different ideas of allusion and appropriation. As the novel tells Rutherford
Calhoun s transformation of un awareness allows him to cross the sea of suffering (209) making him

confront its own contradictory claims to imagination and inaccuracy. These three different areas use

Revelation is called the book of mysteries and also the book of Saint John the Divine. However, it is
important to note that John was not the source of the revelation but the instrument used to make
known Divine revelation. The very first verse in the book reveals its source. It informs its readers that
the book and its content is all about Jesus Christ. God the Father is the source of the message of
Revelation. He gave it to Jesus to show unto his servant things which must soon come to pass. Jesus
gave the message to his angel who conveys it to his servant John. John is the instrument God used to
get the messages delivered to the seven churches. The chain of command is clearly seen in the
delivery of the heavenly message to the seven churches. This chain of command confirms the
importance of following proper leadership and organization in our lives, in our homes, in our schools,
in our plays and in our churches. John was in exile (prison) on the barren rocky island of Patmos for
preaching the word of God and telling about Jesus Christ. On the Lord s Day, while John was in the

What Is Ethical Issues In Marketing
Introduction
Business Ethics and Marketing, in this essay I will elaborate on key factors, such as, positive
outcomes and negative outcomes of marketing. I will touch on issues that are important in certain
aspects of business ethics that derives from marketing as well as the well being of the community. I
will further elaborate on the outcomes of these consequences that have an impact on the people, planet
and profit.
My judgment of marketing is the systematic series of actions between the service and product with the
consumer completing the purchase. Marketing is not all about advertising or distributing flyers. It
consists of having the right pricing objective and promotional mix to entice consumers into purchasing
the product or service at a reasonable price, and that the promotion is appealing. Ethics in marketing is
vital; it compromises on cutting and rising of prices, marketing at selective locations only, and false
information of a specific product or service that may cause a bad name to the company s associations.

The International Covenant On Civil And Political Rights
Section 3 Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
This article ensures the prohibition on arbitrary arrest and detention. It has been a long common
method to deprive a person of his liberty by imprisoning. The deprivation of liberty is used as
preventive measure for further offences occurring, flight or interference with material facts or
witnesses in order to fight crime and maintain internal security. Such a measure should only be
allowed if used when necessary because deprivation of personal liberty places the person affected in a
vulnerable position because he could be subjected to torture and inhuman and/or degrading treatment.
Everyone has the right to liberty and security of person , article 9(1) . The terms liberty of person
means that this provision only applies to the aspect of human liberty. Also, only in specific places can
the deprivation of liberty take place such as a prison, psychiatric facility, a re education, concentration
or work camp, or a detoxification facility for alcoholics or drug addicts and a house arrest . If the
deprivation of liberty is less severe like in a domicile or residency, an exile, a confinement to an island
or expulsion from a state territory it is within the scope of articles 12 and 13 of the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights .
The deprivation of liberty is not a contested measure in itself but if it arbitrary and unlawful it is not
acceptable. Every country have had problems

Oedipus Tragic Flaw Analysis
Oedipus the king has a temper tragic flaw it s an anger that leads him to many unknown problems due
to killing his own father, king Laius, which happened at the crossroads, however his violent temper
has a good candidate in it which is due to a tragic flaw. Furthermore, Oedipus has Pride which leads to
identifying himself as a good character. Oedipus main downfall unwillingness leads to his faithfully
fate. Many people don t like him and accuse him of many things that he hasn t done. Yet, many people
support him like Jocasta they encourage him to keep going forward and keep being open minded, not
to measure himself, and to never give up. However, due to many things he has been accused of Jocasta
comforts him by telling him that there are no truth in oracles prophets and she has plenty of proof.
Furthermore, a long time ago an oracle told Laius a story that supposedly his own son would kill him,
yet results came in and said he and Jocasta gave their monthly old son of a shepherd to leave on a
hillside to die with a pin between its ankles. However, he was killed by three robbers not by his own
son, one of Jocasta proofs that the oracle was wrong. Something about her story puts Oedipus into
trouble, she said that Laius was killed at an intersection where three roads meet, which reminds
Oedipus of an incident that happened in the past. Furthermore, when he killed a stranger at an
intersection where three roads met, he then asks her to describe Laius, and her details match his
memory. However, Jocasta tells him that the only witnesses there are to Laius s death is a herdsman,
which he swore that robbers killed him. Oedipus then witnesses and interrogates them. However,
Jocasta helps him to be the bigger and better person. While Jocasta and Oedipus wait for the man to
arrive, they ask why he seems so troubled. Oedipus then talks to her about the story of his past. When
he was young an old man he met told him that he wasn t his father s son. He then automatically and
asked his parents about that and of course they denied it. However, he still had a doubt about that and
wondered why the man told him that. Yet, he eventually went to an oracle to find out the truth to see

really thought of during the movie s time period. It really shows hard work, greed, lust, and trickery.
Overall this is a good movie, with a very slow start. It is filled with drama, mystery, and action. If you

Starting at the top of the previous page the first piece of artwork I chose to review is Max Beckmann s

been announced. This is a drawing depicting the reaction of passers by in Berlin to the news of war
being declared. I chose this piece specifically because of the sketchy style of drawing. I find that the
looseness of his lines give the piece a feeling of anxiousness or even stress that I imagine many of the
citizens depicted in the piece were feeling at the time. The second piece I chose was created by artist,

CONSERVATION OF MOMENTUM PRACTICAL WRITE UP
AIM: To investigate if momentum is conserved in two dimensional interactions within an isolated
system.
HYPOTHESIS: Without the effects of friction the momentum will be conserved in the isolated
system. In all three experiments the momentum before the interaction will equal the momentum after
the interaction.
METHOD: An air hockey table was set up and a video camera on a tripod was placed over the air
hockey table. The camera was positioned so it was directly above the air hockey table facing
downwards. The air hockey table was turned on and two near identical pucks were placed on the table,
one at one end of the table and one in the centre. The puck at the end of the table was launched by ...

This would have created friction which is regarded as an external force; therefore the pucks were no
longer in an isolated system. Another random error occurred in the first experiment where the red puck
was initially held down to prevent it from moving and released when the black puck collided with it.
Due to the person s reaction time, holding it in place may have interfered with the collision as it was
an external force and this may have impacted upon the results.
Several systematic occurred in this experiment, but the most important one would have been the fact
that the air hockey table was not completely level. This impacted upon the experiment in two ways. In
the first experiment where the red puck is initially stationary, as the table was not level it moved
around before the black puck collided with it. To overcome this the red puck had to be held in place
and as mentioned before this would have provided and external force acting upon the puck. The
unevenness of the air hockey table also meant that there was a possibility of friction acting on the
pucks while they were moving. In the third collision with the Velcro another systematic error
occurred. When the two pucks collided and stuck together they did not continue straight, instead they
rotated. This is not linear momentum but rather it is angular momentum. This is reflected in the results
as the magnitude of the initial and final momentum of the system is equal, but the

Isaac Asimov I Robot Quotes
The book I, Robot is a fictional story written by Isaac Asimov. It was first published on December
2nd, 1950, but it is still a famous classic read today. In the following two paragraphs, I want to relate
two quotes from the novel to a personal connection as well as a text to text connection respectfully.
Let s start with the text to text connection. In the beginning of the novel where my first quotation is
found, we are introduced to Gloria, an innocent child, and Robbie the robot, who was Gloria s best
buddy and caregiver. During the beginning of the novel, Gloria was furious that her mother correlated
Robbie to a machine, as Gloria thought the contrary to her mother. She believed that he was a person
just like you and me and he was [her] friend (Asimov 28), and while robots are not human and are not
made of flesh and blood, Gloria believed that the robots are capable of feeling and interacting with
humans just as if humans were interacting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and how Whites didn t treat Blacks as people because of their colour. This is similar to how Gloria s
mother does not treat robots as humans, but rather as a nasty old machine (Asimov 28), and this shows
how Gloria s mother and Whites show no respect to the other species due to their own personal
judgments and beliefs, which are falsely created by themselves. Both represent isolation of a certain
species due to the mistrust, tension, and stereotypes they have between one another, and both show
that even though there is no valid reason as to why they should not trust one another, there is still
conflict between the Blacks and Whites nowadays in all parts of the world just like there is conflict

plays a role in children and young adult literature. She shows how important it is to not only show

books. She spoke on how importance of main characters that have similar backgrounds am you, but
also to be able to see people with different backgrounds doing the same everyday activities as you.

Stonewall Jackson
Thomas Stonewall Jackson was born on January 21, 1824 in Clarksburg, Virginia. His father and
younger sibling had died of typhoid fever when Jackson was very young. This left himself, his mother
and a younger sister. His mother remarried and fell into debt with her more current husband. Because
of the immense financial struggles distressing the family, Jackson was forced to go live with an uncle.
Jackson s uncle paid little to no attention to him, even when young Jackson showed an interest in
learning. As stated in the Stonewall Jackson: The Man, The Soldier, The Legend, a childhood friend
said that Jackson was by no means... brilliant, but was one of those untiring, plain, matter of fact
persons who would never give up... until he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

(Published in the Charleston Mercury on July 25, 1861). Some thought that by the Union taking over
Richmond, the head of the Confederacy, that it would end the Civil War (MacDonald 12). The
Confederate army was committed to protecting all routs to Richmond.
One year later, in 1862 Jackson blindsided the Union and defeated two Union forces. The blindside
defeat of the Union proved that Jackson was a relentless and determined military mind. Jackson did
this during the Shenandoah Valley campaign. George McClellan, commander of the Union Army,
came up with a plan to capture Richmond, the Confederate capital. McClellan was not known as the
most efficient of commanders, always seeming hesitant to commit his troops to battle. When
McClellan s troops were preparing to start their campaign, Stonewall Jackson s Confederate Army
charged through the Shenandoah Valley, making it seem as if they were going to attack Washington,
the Union s capital. This campaign that Jackson raged upon lasted from May 4th until June 9th, 1862.
This is where Jackson defeated the two Union forces.
Jackson s Shenandoah Valley campaign included battles such as Fort Royal, Winchester, Cross keys,
and Port Republic (Virginia Military Institute Archives). He defeated Union soldiers at all of these
battles. Due to Jackson s success with his Shenandoah Valley

Organizing Insurgency by Paul Staniland Essay
Organizing Insurgency by Paul Staniland, introduces the question, Do resources like diamonds, drugs,
and state sponsors turn insurgent groups into thuggish people or do they help build a more disciplined
organization? The reason this question is asked is because in some cases it suggests that resource
wealth encourages the degeneration of armed groups into greed and criminality and other evidence
shows that external sponsorship and criminal activity can help leaders build organizations in the face
of state repression (p.142). This question is being presented because with different insurgent groups
like the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and the Hizbul Mujahidden, having very similar
interactions with state sponsors, could have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within the article Staniland states The Taliban s ability to create and maintain both central and local
institutions was facilitated by its access to an overlapping social base of Islamists linked to one
another through camps and schools of western Pakistan while remaining embedded in local
communities (p.171). Within this passage, it explains that because of the basis of the Islamist religion,
the insurgent group was able to spread throughout Pakistan making the Taliban stronger. Similarly to
the Taliban, in having a strong basis, are the rebels of Darfur. Before the Darfur genocide occurred, the
conflict originally began as an insurgency group against the government. Rebel groups drew from
main African tribes of Darfur because they were being oppressed by governmental policies and were
looking for a change. The goal of theses rebels was to assert the social, economic and political rights
of all the people of Darfur; this goal was likely to resonate with the majority of the population, making
the insurgency stronger. Just like the Taliban, the rebels in Darfur had a goal in mind that represented a
basis that resonated with the majority of the population making them stronger and explaining why
they were such a threat to the government. Subsequently, the basis of the insurgency also has
something to do with the effects resources, such as diamonds,

Jeannette Walls Cooking
When I read Jeannette Walls literature regarding her cooking at such a young age, I was appalled. She
was the age of three and cooking with open flames. She could feel the heat rising from the boiling
water which engulfed her hot dogs. While she was cooking, she could smell the boiling water that
surrounded the hot dogs flaring up. She sensed the abnormally hot air in her nose as she breathed in
the warmness. Personally, I can t imagine being only three years old and cooking. First of all, why is
she cooking while her parents aren t watching? I could hear Mom in the next room singing while she
worked on one of her paintings (Walls 5). Her mother is paying no attention to her three year old
daughter cooking. It s absurd to think about it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She must have also been in charge of walking the dog down the streets alone, or maybe in charge of
lighting bonfires. The responsibilities of this three year old are unheard of compared to today s
standards for raising a child. I would never, under any circumstances, let my three year old daughter
use a stove. A big reason for this is evident when the author says, I was still standing on the chair,
swatting at the fire with the fork I had been using to stir the hot dogs (Walls 5). First of all, she was
not taught the proper way to fight a fire. Instead of the stop drop and roll method we were all taught,
she swats at the fire with a fork in panic. By swatting at the fire, she hoped the fork would damage the
entity that surrounded her and put an end to the pain. She was feeling the moisture from her skin being
drawn out from her. She smelt her dress being burned right off her as well as the fire on her bare skin
bubbling up and filling the room. In her head, she could hear the screams she wanted to say
immediately, but did not have the words ready. At the time, she could taste her saliva building up
tremendously as the fire retained its fearsome

Lenny s Controversy About Selling Cheap Baskets Online
Lenny s opportunity experienced a needed evolution. It is difficult for investors and participants in the
company to get excited about selling cheap caskets online. First of all, the topic of funerals is a topic
that few people want to talk about as it reminds people of their own morality. Second of all, as Randy
says, the original model for Funerals.com was a Better Faster Cheaper start up with no real sustainable
competitive advantage. This additionally makes it unattractive to investors. From a personal
standpoint, as a member of a family who has had to plan their fair share of funerals, online casket
shopping would not have even been a consideration. In my family, the look and feel of a casket played
a significant role in our ultimate casket decision. If a person had to buy a casket online, they would not

If this incident occurred, it would result in extreme customer dissatisfaction at a moment in which the
customer is already feeling vulnerable. For these reasons, when I read Lenny s original idea for
Funerals.com, I just shook my head. In his final opportunity Lenny has more passion and comes
across to Randy as less profit driven. In his second meeting with Randy, Lenny is not just spewing
information that he believes both investors and Randy want to hear, like with his first opportunity, but
he actually has passion and purpose behind his pitch. It is this passion that will help him through the
rough stages of a start up. The final opportunity offers the intersection of the Deferred Life Plan.
Lenny is doing what he has to do, by growing the business, while pursuing what he presumably loves,
helping grieving families. In his original opportunity, all Lenny wanted to do was to sell cheap
caskets, make a profit, and sell the company as soon as

Home Sweet Home
How would you feel if you went into a business, to fill out an application for a job, and had to leave
the section blank that was asking for your address? I am sure that you might feel lost, sad, or even
embarrassed. On the other hand, how would you feel if you were able to fill in the section asking for
your address, but did not feel like you could call this place home? Maybe you would have feelings of
being alone, not loved, or not even cared about.

I strongly disagree and believe that if someone cannot consider their house a home, it has a lot to do
with the attitudes of those living in it. I also believe that a house is the place where most teenagers
remain until, at least, the age of eighteen because of not being able to afford their own house. On the
other hand, they all belong to a home where, whether or not they admit it, they will always have a
loving family to welcome them into their hearts. Many of them tend to feel this way because as they
grow older they begin to only think of themselves and become very self centered or selfish. These
feelings of selfishness usually do not change until teenagers begin progressing into adulthood. If a
teenager sees how their selfishness negatively affects their family and they begin to change their ways,
while still in their teenage years, this change is usually the cause of a bad event that left them lonely
and in the dark. This event could have been something along the lines of tough love from family
members which caused this person to look back on events they regretted from the past and helped
them to look forward to changing these actions for a better future. Many of my friends complain about
not being happy at home and how much they just cannot wait to move out of the house. When I hear
them complaining about this, the first thing that comes to my mind is, igrave; How do you expect
yourself to experience the true feeling of a home if you never make the best

Dominos Pizza Case Study

What Domino s Pizza Did Wrong?
As stated in Forbes, Domino s ignored the importance of a media crisis team, the ability to follow real
time developments and the need to respond quickly (Vogt, 2009). Domino s communication team
failed by not publicly responding to the offensive video. As claimed by AdAge, during the first 24
hours, a Domino s spokesman, Tim McIntyre, refused to leave any comments about the situation. He
stated that The chain would not be posting statements on the company website for fear of alerting
more consumers to a negative story, he said, millions of people view the chain s website every day, if
only to order a pizza. (York, 2009) Although the company did not have a social media presence at that
time, they had a social media team working on the launching of the new Domino s social media
platforms, and they didn t use their own resource tools to address the crisis. Even though Domino s
took action during the first 24 hours after being warned about the videos, they did it behind closed
doors, ignoring the public. In accordance with the Wall Street Journal, Richard Levick, the president
of the PR Firm Levick Strategic Communications, gives an F to Domino s for not giving any response
during the first 24 hours. (The Wall Street Journal, 2009). Leaders of organizations need to be
prepared to face crisis and take responsibility during a crisis, and Domino s simply did not care to

Research Paper On The Alchemist

The Alchemist
1.Story
The Alchemist is a novel (book) written by Paulo Coelho in 1988.
The book tells a story of a shepherd boy, who owns a herd of sheep. His name is Santiago. In his
sleep, he has dreamt a dream at two occasions that he needs to go to the pyramids of Egypt to find
treasures.
In the beginning, he distrusts the dream; he is unsure if he has to follow and accomplish the dream.
But, later on, as he gets a prophecy from an old woman, who interprets his dream and confirms him to
follow just his dream. Despite the confirmation, he is not so interested of the dream. This is mainly
because of two reasons. One, he hasn t enough courage to sell his sheep or leave them behind. Second,

It s is through action. Everything you need to know you have learned through your journey.
Alchemist is already explained in the story as it is the ability to purify your soul, listen to your heart
and speak the language of the world. The title is, then, to show us, the readers, that anyone can achieve
his/her dream by possessing the characteristics of alchemist as exactly as the shepherd boy, Santiago.
Santiago finds his treasure at the place where he first dreamt of. The ending, then, can be interpreted
as Santiago needs to go in a difficult situation and time to gain the knowledge or wisdom.
7. Own thoughts and options
The first thing I have learned from the story is that every dream I can have doesn t only be enough to
follow them. Instead, I need to inspire myself through opening my heart and try to accomplish them.
Secondly, regardless of the time and effort requirement, it is not important to look back. Lastly, as in
the story every blessing ignored becomes a curse , have found it to be true because if you are not

Over 50% of leaders and managers fail. There are many factors leading to these failures, with poor

positive outcomes in employees and abusive supervision and monitoring to negative outcomes in
employee performance. According to them, to achieve the former and eliminate the later, leaders need
to strive to create a culture that is fair, ethical and equitable in order for employees to be respectful and

The Tale of Youth
The Tale of Youth
Chaucer s Squire s tale has often been disregarded by critics as fragmentary, incoherent, and a
rambling narrative. (Lawton 106) These characteristics shed a malevolent light on the tale, and raise
questions on the unfinished status in the Canterbury Tales. The argument presents itself due to the
interruption of the narrative by the Franklin leaving it without the ending, which has been
foreshadowed earlier in the tale. The answer to this enigma is pure speculation. (Lawton 123) In order
to examine the congruity of the tale with its teller, it is imperative to set aside the argument and let
these be faults of the narrator, not the author, [with] attention duly shifting to Chaucer s creature, the

His lack of education in literary forms would have left him less than perfect in the realm of rhetoric.
He knows the tropes, and is quite familiar with occupatio, as it guilefully takes almost as long to
refuse to do something as it would to do it... (Lawton 122) It must however, be remembered that he is
not an experienced story teller. It can be taken, due to the incoherence of the tale, that not only are the

The Potential Causes And Possible Treatment Of Exercise...
The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction
Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while exercising
on a regular basis results in many benefits. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of sport, many
experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the unfavourable areas within
sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction. The predominance of
exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting consequences can be calamitous
(De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007).
Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling withdrawal
than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of individuals
may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise addiction between
an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar levels of training; the
difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The individual addicted to
exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is resolute in pursuing his sport
despite it being against his best interest.
The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise addiction:
mood modification, salience, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal conflict (Brown,
1993; Griffiths, 2005).

Is Burnout A Serious Problem That Impacts An Organization...
Methods
By recognizing that burnout is a serious problem that impacts an organization s viability, an assembly
of staff nurses, nursing supervisors, human resource staff, social services, nurse administrators, and a
physician champion will be arranged to construct mission, objectives and strategies to help ameliorate
the issues at hand. Researching literature on nursing burnout is essential so that the members of the
task force has a solid grasp on potential underlying hardships contributing to nursing burnout within
the facility as well as the financial effects on the organization. Furthermore, in order to determine a
solution, the nurse s work environment should be assessed (Nedd, 2006) and measured using the 26
item Brisbane Practice Environment Measure (B PEM) (Flint, Farrugia, Courtney, Webster, 2010).
The B PEM instrument was developed to measure nursing satisfaction within the work environment
and the perceived facilities inadequacies (Flint et al. 2010; Hayes et al., 2014; Nedd, 2006). Next, the
Conditions of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire II (CWEQ II) will also be utilized to measure the
nurses perceived access to the four job related empowerment structures: opportunity, information,
support, and resources will be administered (Laschinger et al., 2003). Then nursing burnout will be
assessed and analyzed by using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) which is a widely used

Malcolm (Shameik Moore) and his friends, Diggy (Kiersey Clemons) and Jib (Tony Revolori), come

These shot often occur whenever Malcolm encounters a very pretty girl, we switch into Malcolm s
point of view as he looks and watches whatever that girl is doing. For example, we see his point of
view as he watches Nakia (Zoë Kravitz) erase something in her notebook with her pencil to which he
then helps her solve the problem she was working on. Also, later on, we see through Malcolm s eyes,
Lily (Chanel Iman) swimming topless in the pool as she too stares back at Malcolm. Whenever
Malcolm faces possible danger, we also then switch to his viewpoint. Like when Malcolm and his
friends look around for the guy in the red El Camino that wants the drugs, we use Malcolm s line of
sight and see his eyes search the curb for the car. Also, we jump into Malcolm s viewpoint when he is

Another time when we are shifted into Malcolm s perspective is when is attempting to figure

Strategic Behavior And Game Theory
Introduction
Strategic behavior and game theory coincide together in many ways. Strategic behavior plans happen
within the confines of game theory. Silva, Mota, and Gril (2015) describe game theory and all that is
involved with it as one of the most powerful tools within social science in general and economics (p.
421). With this statement, a deeper look into the measures that sum up strategic behavior and game
theory is essential for an understanding of a firm s decision in the global economy.
Strategic Behavior
Definition
As oligopolists compete for advantages in their market, they must make decisions about the approach
they take. Strategic behavior is the plan the oligopolist takes after understanding all of the measures
that will go into the plan as well as the opportunity costs by not choosing other plans (Salvatore,
2015). These actions are taken into consideration by the competitors in the industry as well. They then
must arrange or manipulate their plan in order to compete.
Role in Economics Strategic behavior is what drives a company into a competitive market with the
tools to be successful. If the leaders in a company do not take into account all of the criteria that
establishes a strategic behavioral plan, they will not be able to compete in the industry at their highest
potential. Ursacescu and Cioc (2015) describe the criteria that is incorporated into making strategic
behavioral decisions such as operational intelligence, informational intelligence,

expensive and wast of their time also money. It is also very difficult to make a clear Breakeven
analysis.
This situations are usually loss is greater than profit.
(C) One of the advantage of the coffee shop have a customer who spend A$5 in the shop it is profit.
Those customers are still spend $5 in the shops it make a profit for their business.
One of the disadvantage that when we use Breakeven analysis on this case, If some customer usually
spends Australian $5 in the coffee shop, it does not mean every customer spends $5 in same shop. It is
very difficult to make BEA clearly because coffee shop sells many products and each products are

A total of 400 8 d old broilers were allotted to a 2 [Low (14 16℃) or control temperature] × 2 (0.17% or 0.51% DL HMTBA) factorial arrangement to investigate effects of DL HMTBA on the gene expression related to oxidative stress in low temperature. The hepatic glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH Px) activities were decreased, while protein carbonyl and malodndialdehyde content in lung were increased in low temperature (P10 fold decrease in CβS protein levels. The Problems Facing The United States We are caught in a time of our nation s history when misfortunes, mismanagement, corruption, and leftwing ideology come together in a powerful concurrence of circumstances that leave our once dynamic nation at risk for disaster. Americans are a people dependent upon a meddling, incompetent government with its foot on the necks of its citizens. As incredible as it seems, our representatives allowed dictators and corrupt regimes around the world to control nearly everything we need for survival. Moreover, this administration is weak and incapacitated on the world stage, making us dependent upon the very people who wish to annihilate us. Dozens of pressing problems challenge America today. There was a time when America rightfully boasted the greatest and most envied industrial complex and manufacturing base in the history of mankind. However, that was before politicians decided to over regulate, over tax, and enact never ending destructive legislation motivating business and manufacturing to surrender and move to foreign countries offering more welcoming laws. Further, national politicians signed unwise trade agreements with countries that placed the United States in a subservient position on trade. Mega international corporation lobbyists became the driving force for trade policy, and national security steadily suffered. Fair trade became a victim of an ill conceived national policy and withered in the heat of backroom deals between money brokers and politicians. The false narrative of free trade left our nation impotent in a world offering depressed wages, fewer benefits, insignificant regulations, and lower taxes. Obviously, good paying jobs with benefits vanished as we became less competitive. International trade is an absolute necessity to a healthy U. S. economy. Unfortunately, big time money speaks louder and more forcefully than common sense and fair economic practice. Democrats and Republicans joined at the wallet with special interests, tragically left our national security rusting away in hundreds of silent, inactive, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Mesopotamia Early civilizations from Mesopotamia to Egypt were established primarily because of the shift from hunting and gathering to agricultural means of acquiring food. This change meant that not everyone in a population was necessary for the group s survival and therefore, some members had free time . This extra time allowed for advances in religion, writing, and politics, three key features of civilization. By studying these advances, we can better learn how civilization originally looked and we can examine the effects of their advances in today s society. With this new spare time usually allocated for hunting and gathering, early people logically looked for reasons to explain the nature of things. These explanations initiated the earliest forms of religion a prominent feature in the basis of both Mesopotamian and Egyptian life.1 Mesopotamians created and actively worshiped hundreds of gods, many of which explained different phenomena and could control how the forces of nature affected people. Essay on The Pros and Cons of Small Class Size Research Paper: The Different Advantages and Disadvantages of Small Class Size Identifying Issues Regarding Class Size There has been a lot of controversy lately about how a decrease in the number of kids in the classrooms and could change how well a child performs in his/her schoolwork. Many researchers believe that a small class size will have a positive effect on class achievement, but other researchers have found that reducing class size has no advantage at all. For example, Ivor Pritchard from the National Institute on Student Achievement, Curriculum and Assessment says reducing class size will increase costs without producing substantial benefits (1999). From this example, it can be seen that there have been many sources ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Tennessee s Student Teacher Achievement Ratio (STAR) project of 1997, small class size meant having thirteen to seventeen students in a class (National Education Association). At a national level, the U.S. Department of Education s new Class Size Reduction Program [wanted] to reduce class size in grades one through three to a national average of 18 students. (Hopkins, 1999). William Harms defines a regular sized class as a class of twenty two to twenty six students(2001). Based on these definitions, a large class can be assumed to be a class with more than twenty six students. Advantages of Small Class Sizes Researchers have found that there are many different advantages to having a small class. Some researchers and teachers will even say that smaller classes are a key ingredient in student success (Weingarten, 2003). Research projects such as Tennessee s STAR have found that a reduction in class size will produce a variety of benefits for teachers and students. Small classes impact not only students academic achievements, but they also benefit students social skills and relationships with their teachers. One example of an advantage for a small class is that struggling students can receive more individual help from the classroom teacher. Because there will be less students in a class with one teacher, the teacher is better able to direct her attention and help to specific students. For example, a first grade ... The US health care system has a considerable amount of differences when compared to these countries. In the Japanese health care system, social insurance is employed requiring everyone to have to have a plan, there are no scheduled appointments walk ins only, fixed prices for procedures are decided for all hospitals by a yearly review board, and doctors don t get paid near as much as US doctors. • 8. Forgiveness In I Forgive The Man Who Shot Me The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. This quote by Mahatma Gandhi describes the character it takes to forgive an individual of wrongdoing. Forgiveness results in multiple positive outcomes for both the forgiver and the person being pardoned. Shakespeare s The Tempest, Keating s I Forgave the Man Who Shot Me and Bettencourt s Triumph of the Heart discuss the importance of forgiveness in terms of moving on, freeing someone of guilt and finding happiness. In order to move on from a terrible incident, forgiveness is necessary for both sides. For example, in Keating s I Forgave the Man Who Shot Me Debbie Baigrie was able to move on despite being shot in the face by Ian Manuel. People would say, stay away from him, what are you doing? says Baigrie (with Manuel). But he s a human being. He s smart. He has a lot to contribute. Why not give the guy a second chance? (Keating 71). Relating to the theme of forgiveness, Debbie was able to move on and forgive this man for his wrongdoings. Without Ian apologizing and Debbie forgiving, neither one of them would have been able to move on from this incident. That is why it is essential to forgive one for their wrongdoings. Just like this, forgiveness is key in The Tempest. I will touch on issues that are important in certain aspects of business ethics that derives from marketing as well as the well being of the community. I will further elaborate on the outcomes of these consequences that have an impact on the people, planet and profit. My judgment of marketing is the systematic series of actions between the service and product with the consumer completing the purchase. Marketing is not all about advertising or distributing flyers. It consists of having the right pricing objective and promotional mix to entice consumers into purchasing the product or service at a reasonable price, and that the promotion is appealing. Furthermore, a long time ago an oracle told Laius a story that supposedly his own son would kill him, yet results came in and said he and Jocasta gave their monthly old son of a shepherd to leave on a hillside to die with a pin between its ankles. However, he was killed by three robbers not by his own son, one of Jocasta proofs that the oracle was wrong. Something about her story puts Oedipus into trouble, she said that Laius was killed at an intersection where three roads meet, which reminds Oedipus of an incident that happened in the past. Furthermore, when he killed a stranger at an intersection where three roads met, he then asks her to describe Laius, and her details match his memory. However, Jocasta tells him that the only witnesses there are to Laius s death is a herdsman, which he swore that robbers killed him. Oedipus then witnesses and interrogates them. However, Jocasta helps him to be the bigger and better person. While Jocasta and Oedipus wait for the man to arrive, they ask why he seems so troubled. Oedipus then talks to her about the story of his past. When he was young an old man he met told him that he wasn t his father s son. METHOD: An air hockey table was set up and a video camera on a tripod was placed over the air hockey table. The camera was positioned so it was directly above the air hockey table facing downwards. Another random error occurred in the first experiment where the red puck was initially held down to prevent it from moving and released when the black puck collided with it. Due to the person s reaction time, holding it in place may have interfered with the collision as it was an external force and this may have impacted upon the results. Several systematic occurred in this experiment, but the most important one would have been the fact that the air hockey table was not completely level. This impacted upon the experiment in two ways. In the first experiment where the red puck is initially stationary, as the table was not level it moved around before the black puck collided with it. To overcome this the red puck had to be held in place and as mentioned before this would have provided and external force acting upon the puck. The unevenness of the air hockey table also meant that there was a possibility of friction acting on the pucks while they were moving. In the third collision with the Velcro another systematic error occurred. When the two pucks collided and stuck together they did not continue straight, instead they rotated. This is not linear momentum but rather it is angular momentum. This is reflected in the results as the magnitude of the initial and final momentum of the system is equal, but the ... • 33. The Tale of Youth The Tale of Youth Chaucer s Squire s tale has often been disregarded by critics as fragmentary, incoherent, and a rambling narrative. (Lawton 106) These characteristics shed a malevolent light on the tale, and raise questions on the unfinished status in the Canterbury Tales. The argument presents itself due to the interruption of the narrative by the Franklin leaving it without the ending, which has been foreshadowed earlier in the tale. • 34. The Potential Causes And Possible Treatment Of Exercise... The potential causes and possible treatment of exercise addiction Unquestionably, physical activity complements the quality of life for an individual, while exercising on a regular basis results in many benefits. Nevertheless despite the great benefit of sport, many experts commonly agree that physical activity may be harmful. One of the unfavourable areas within sport, which is frequently examined by researchers, is exercise addiction. The predominance of exercise addiction is quite rare in reality, but when present conflicting consequences can be calamitous (De Coverley Veale, 1987; Szabo, 2007). Szabo (1998) proposed that those addicted to exercise will experience a more compelling withdrawal than dedicated exercisers. A comprehensive manner to distinguish between both sets of individuals may be through the actions and intentions for exercise of the individuals. Exercise addiction between an athlete which is healthy and an exercise addict may be sharing very similar levels of training; the difference is the mental approach and attitude taken by each individual. The individual addicted to exercise is unable to see the real value in unnecessary exercise and is resolute in pursuing his sport despite it being against his best interest. The definition of exercise addiction is complemented by six common symptoms of exercise addiction: mood modification, salience, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, tolerance and personal conflict (Brown, 1993; Griffiths, 2005). ... Researching literature on nursing burnout is essential so that the members of the task force has a solid grasp on potential underlying hardships contributing to nursing burnout within the facility as well as the financial effects on the organization. Furthermore, in order to determine a solution, the nurse s work environment should be assessed (Nedd, 2006) and measured using the 26 item Brisbane Practice Environment Measure (B PEM) (Flint, Farrugia, Courtney, Webster, 2010). The B PEM instrument was developed to measure nursing satisfaction within the work environment and the perceived facilities inadequacies (Flint et al. 2010; Hayes et al., 2014; Nedd, 2006). Next, the Conditions of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire II (CWEQ II) will also be utilized to measure the nurses perceived access to the four job related empowerment structures: opportunity, information, support, and resources will be administered (Laschinger et al., 2003). • 40. Strategic Behavior And Game Theory Introduction Strategic behavior and game theory coincide together in many ways. Strategic behavior plans happen within the confines of game theory. Silva, Mota, and Gril (2015) describe game theory and all that is involved with it as one of the most powerful tools within social science in general and economics (p. 421). With this statement, a deeper look into the measures that sum up strategic behavior and game theory is essential for an understanding of a firm s decision in the global economy. Strategic Behavior Definition As oligopolists compete for advantages in their market, they must make decisions about the approach they take. Strategic behavior is the plan the oligopolist takes after understanding all of the measures that will go into the plan as well as the opportunity costs by not choosing other plans (Salvatore, 2015). These actions are taken into consideration by the competitors in the industry as well. They then must arrange or manipulate their plan in order to compete. Role in Economics Strategic behavior is what drives a company into a competitive market with the tools to be successful. If the leaders in a company do not take into account all of the criteria that establishes a strategic behavioral plan, they will not be able to compete in the industry at their highest potential. Ursacescu and Cioc (2015) describe the criteria that is incorporated into making strategic behavioral decisions such as operational intelligence, informational intelligence, ...
