Ever since it has been established there has not been a team with 3 losses in the top 5. Only one
time has there been a two loss team to make it to the National Championship game. An argument
against having a playoff would be that teams would be rewarded for having an easy strength of
schedule and not scheduling difficult out of conference games. There would not be much
reason for a non power conference teams to schedule difficult games out of conference if it
means more to go undefeated. In NCAA Basketball non major conferences teams that don t
schedule may get unlucky when it comes to making NCAA tournament do to a lack of strength
of Schedule. For conferences such as the Southeastern Conference and Big 12 which the teams
are better should get rewarded by having more difficult games. A one loss team in the
Southeastern Conference shows much more than a one loss Mountain West conference. This
would be unfair to the major conferences. It was because of this reason that the BCS takes in
consideration the Strength of schedule and quality wins. In 2002 Miami was left out of the title
game even though they beat Florida State head to head and yet Florida State made it. Florida
State lost and Miami won its bowl game to take in consideration quality wins. One may say that a
problem with the playoff is that a number one ranked team can have a bad day and get knocked
out of the playoffs which would seem unfair. The BCS rankings are

Radio Network Performance For Indoor Cellular Systems
Radio Network Performance for Indoor Cellular Systems Keshav Kumar Bollu (M547X932)
Abstract Indoor wireless systems with cellular technology provides good coverage and high
capacity with great potential if a large number of small radio ports are connected to a centralized
radio network controller. Various radio network solutions are investigated based on this approach.
Architecture of a base station sub system (BSS) is presented and the proposed BSS is based on a
distributed architecture. The cost economical solution for indoor wireless deployment is presented
that meets indoor capacity need and provides good indoor coverage. Antenna hopping is done,
which transmits information continuously on different antennas. The Radio Resource... Show more

High traffic capacity is achieved with smaller cells and microcell systems which cover
downtown hotspot areas. Microcells are characterized by lower antenna heights and lower
power levels when compared with ordinary macrocells and hence offer high outdoor traffic
capacity but low indoor coverage. Thus an indoor system should supply better coverage and
high capacity simultaneously. These needs are fulfilled by using a large number of small radio
ports into the cellular system. Several solutions are available to increase the system capacity:
frequency reuse by reducing the cell size, dynamic resource allocation, slow frequency hopping,
hierarchical cells etc. The transmission link performance is a key property of a wireless
communication system as it determines the coverage of the system. An improvement of the
transmission link performance provides a cost effective way of increasing capacity by allowing
reuse of tighter channel. A method of improving the transmission link performance of a wireless
communication system is discussed here. These needs are satisfied by arranging a huge number
of small radio ports to the existing cellular system. Spot coverage is provided for those areas
which are hard or impossible to cover with the outdoor cells. The radio ports transmit with very
low power for a small coverage area and keeping the generated interference low. The reuse of traffic
channels between the small areas covered by the radio ports can possibly be very frequent

Lorenzo s Oil Ethical Theory
Lorenzo s Oil Relative to Ethic Theories Director George Miller is a great story teller of the real
life story Of Lorenzo Odone. Lorenzo s is a little boy that at a very young age is diagnosis with
adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Parents Augusto and Michaela Odone, devastated as any parents
would decide right then they would take action. They started to research in addition to seeking out
the best doctors they could find that had knowledge of this rare disease that their son inherited.

this disease, hopefully that their son will get better. With help of family as well as friends they got
through many struggles financially, personally in their marriage and over all the fight for their son

Ethical Theories Augusto and Michaela are prime examples of the teleological (outcome) theory
which they decide that what is right also maximizes some good. The right thing to do, then, is
the good thing to do (Edge Groves, 2006). Lorenzo s parents were set on trying to help their son
in any way they could even though they knew that this was an inherited disease that had no cure

Lean Production Is A Benefit For Selling Products
Lean Production In short, lean production is essentially about receiving more from less. The point
of this idea is to lessen the amount of assets or quantity, so the main focus can be utilized as a
benefit for selling products and furthering assistance to customers. All while in sync, it is about
making the association of the business or supply chain more productive, vaulable and more
importantly effective. Lean production can be characterized from various perspectives, however the
most mainstream is the elimination of all waste and continuous improvement of productivity.
(Arnold, Chapman, 2012, p.340) Waste means something besides the base measure of hardware,
parts, space, material, creation time and laborers time which make it completely important to
increase the value of the item. Lean production is built on various effective ideas such as
continuous improvement, organizing the business, and just in time production, which makes lean
production so effective in supply chains. Lean production includes wiping out what might be
wasteful and hence utilizing less energy, supplys, capacity and time. In return, this lessens costs and
helps companies, such as supply chains, excel in business. The three basic values of supply chains
are simplicity, consistency and responsibility. Lean production ties in quite well with these
qualities. For instance, supply chain stores are basic in outline and all stores are fundamentally the
same which makes them consistent, which is

Huckleberry Finn Literary Analysis
As Winston Churchill once said, Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the
same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things . This
quote could be taken into context numerous ways, one of them being social criticism. In the two
books The Adventures of Huckleberry Finnby Mark Twain and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott
Fitzgerald, social criticism is clearly an element that both authors reflected on greatly while writing
these pieces of literature. Although both novels may be seen as completely different works, Twain
and Fitzgerald use similar tools to effectively fulfill the purpose of criticizing American society.
Through the use of symbolism, themes, figurative language, diction and character choice, the
authors make it evident that these two novels are written to portray the hypocrisy of middle class

In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, many symbols could relate to Twain s criticism on
society, the river and shore being one of them. Throughout the story, Huck and Jim often find
themselves sailing away on the river or sitting on the shore. The river represents freedom for all
and the shore means to conform to the social statuses that are set in place from that specific time
period (1880s American south). Twain shows how the river is a free place for all, and the shore
not so much. On the river, Huck finds himself trusting Jim and creating some sort of friendship
with him, something that was unheard of in the time period. Twain comments on the middle class
by saying it s okay that two people from different racial backgrounds are friends; therefor, race
does not matter. In The Great Gatsby, The Valley of Ashes between the East and West Egg also
symbolizes the difference in social

The Semantic Phenomena Of The Human Language Essay
Introduction
Semantics is the study of meaning that is used to understand people s words and linguistic theories
developed in modeling human language to understand the pragmatic semantic relations that exist
between the words. Sense relations have been the interest of philosophers, psychologists, linguists
and language teacher and each of them provided theories about lexicon relations related to their
own field and some approaches were made in order to study sense relations and they were 1
Pragmatic: the linguistics phenomena are focused on the use of sense relations and their position in
the human mind2 Psycholinguistic: providing a psychological model of the information and
procedures involved in the semantic phenomena of the human language. Sense relations are
considered with the meaning of the words, how they man what they suppose to mean, how they
happen inside the human mind and how they are used in writing and speaking. This can be helpful
for linguists, translators, teacher and lexicographers when they are compiling and revising a
dictionary. Also sense relations are considered an open set items, which means there s no restriction
on the richness of their meaning because they belong to a huge substitution sets and they are
constantly updated on the syntactic and semantic levels. Chaffin and Herrmann (1988) noted that
sense relations have characteristics of concepts and they tend to be abstract ones, which means that
these sense relations don t come out of

The Characteristics Of Artificial Intelligence
One must truly understand what artificial intelligence is in order to assess its usefulness in society.
In the article Artificial Intelligence by Paul Norvig, it states The field of artificial intelligence (AI)
is the science and engineering of machines that act intelligently. (Herzfeld 509). So, what does
Norvig mean when these machines act intelligently? This means that Artificial Intelligencemimics
human intelligence as if it had its own consciousness. Consider this, whenever you perform a
task, for example, sorting colored objects into their matching containers, programmers who
design these Artificial Intelligent machines go through the logical process we do as humans.
So, if someone had a red cube and was looking for its container, one would go through a logical
chronological process. First, one would define the color of the object, red. Then, one would find
out what type of object he or she is holding, cube. Finally, in order to complete the task, sorting
colored objects into their matching containers, one would identify the container that was for red
cubes. This is an example of the logical process regarding Artificial Intelligence. Artificial
Intelligence is difficult to define. There are so many areas in which intelligent machines could
benefit life, a single definition wouldn t fully encompass its capabilities. Noreen L. Herzfeld,
Professor of Theology and Computer Science at College of Saint Benedict, provides an interesting
perspective on what Artificial

The Enlightenment Of People On Identity By Judith Ortiz Cofer
The Enlightenment Of People On Identity The identities of an individual may differ from how
they see themselves to how others see them, and this is known as a personal and a social
identity. People are often misinformed about another person s, or group of people s social
identities through stereotypes or bad experiences. For some people such as Brent Staples and
Judith Ortiz Cofer, this has led to many awkward and potentially dangerous situations. Brent
Staples is an African American journalist for the New York Times and was a professor of
psychology. During his graduate years at the University of Chicago, he found many situations that
were potentially dangerous because of people who had either stereotyped him or categorized him

Cofer found out about the difference in culture one day at school in New Jersey. The way that
our teachers and classmates looked at us that day in school was just a taste of the culture clash
that awaited us in the real world, where prospective employers and men on the street would often
misinterpret our tight skirts and jiggly bracelets as a come on. (Ortiz Cofer 205) During the 1970
s the over sexualization of latinas were commonplace in the media and through stereotypes which
labeled them in terms of their preconceived sexuality. As with the situation with the man who
sang Maria , Cofer realized that misinformation about her culture and stereotypes would cause
people, specifically male, to approach her and others like her as sexual objects. On the other hand,
Staples had the opposite effect on those in the community. I could cross in front of a car stopped
at a traffic light and elicit the thunk, thunk, thunk. thunk of the driver black, white, male, or female
hammering down the door locks. On less traveled streets after dark, I grew accustomed to but
never comfortable with people crossing to the other side of the street rather than pass me (Staples

control over his community. This fear created a social identity of

Homeschooling Advantages
Is homeschooling the better option? Sure, it may not be for everyone. Maybe the disadvantages
intimidate you. However, each decision we make, as parents, has at least one disadvantage. We
must decide whether the advantages outweigh the cost. Therefore, before you jump to conclusions,
let s take into consideration some of the benefits homeschoolingcan offer. Homeschooling is more
cost effective. Homeschooling provides many benefits such as the elimination of bullying, better
test scores, children can work at their own pace, and families have more time together.
Homeschooling is more cost effective than sending children to public schools. In my area for
students who do not qualify for free or reduced lunch, the price for each school year, per child, is
$423 based on a 180 day school year. School supplies aren t cheap; according to the article
Mommy Edition, schools usually send home a list of mandatory supplies that will be kept at the
end of the year (2017). The cost of school pictures and year books can be anywhere between $25
and $100 per child. Then there are activities such as sports, clubs, and field trips. My parents
despised the day I brought home a fundraiser packet. Public schools push this on parents because
children see the prizes not the prices. One year I sold candy for a school fundraiser. My brother
and I ended up eating more than I sold, and this left my parents having to pay $156 for what was
missing. Otherwise, my grade card would have been withheld.

The Importance Of Secondary Characters In Shakespeare s As...
As You Like It: The Importance of the Secondary Characters
As You Like It, by William Shakespeare, is a radiant blend of fantasy, romance, wit and humor. In
this delightful romp, Rosalind stands out as the most robust, multidimensional and lovable
character, so much so that she tends to overshadow the other characters in an audience s memory,
making them seem, by comparison, just stock dramatic types . Yet, As You Like It is not a stock
romance that just happens to have Shakespeare s greatest female role. The other members of the
cast provide a well balanced supporting role, and are not just stereotypes. Characters whom
Shakespeare uses to illustrate his main theme of the variations of love are all more than one use ...

Though the range of her acting sub roles alone would make the other characters look pale, the depth
of each of her many parts outshines many. As a woman in love she demonstrates a range of
emotion and action that far exceeds that of Celia, Phoebe or Audrey. It is her romance with
Orlando that is the focus of the play, and the one held up as the ideal, and therefore the one that
gets most of Shakespeare s attention as a playwright. Rosalind s gushing first meeting with
Orlando, a stark contrast to her masterly handling of Le Beau just before, shows a more
vulnerable Rosalind. Rosalind s playful fantasizing about Orlando after the wrestling match and
after verses start appearing on trees shows a depth of infatuation not explored with the other
characters, except Phoebe, though Phoebe is shown up to have a more stock kind of silly
infatuation rather than Rosalind s more courtly lovesickness. Rosalind s momentary drops of her
guise as Ganymede playing Rosalind, such as when she faints at seeing the bloody handkerchief,
show that Rosalind is human, and these involuntary glimpses of the true lover forced out by sheer
emotion place Rosalind on a higher level of love than the more ordinary, stereotypical posturing of
Phoebe.
As wit and philosopher Rosalind plays a dominant role, though here Celia, Touchstone and Jaques
are less flat in comparison to Rosalind. Celia and Rosalind both show indomitable tongues when
mocking Le Beau and confusing

In handling bilateral relationships, the Government often claims to have adopted an integrated
approach taking into account the totality of Australian interests. But, a closer analyses of this claim
reveals it would be almost impossible to meet the totality of Australia s interests in any bilateral
relationship and this is especially true of China which has such a different socio political system.
This close relationship continues to raise political questions for Australia to grapple with, such as
her relations with Taiwan, Tibet and Chinese human rights issues. In some instances Australias
interests will be confined mainly to trade and investment; in the more substantial bilateral

Descriptive Essay On A Water Park
The wet and wild idea
The sun was bright and there was warmth in the air so it was a great day to go to a water park
with my friend Darcy. We were going to be the first ones down the huge water slide. We had
been waiting all night and day to go down this exciting ride. There needs to be four people to go
down this water slide but there are just the two of us so we will just need to try and get a lot of
speed up at the start and hope that we can get to the end of the water slide. We want to be the
first ones down it but we look to our right and there are hundreds of people waiting to go down it.
We need to think of a plan to get around the huge line of people.
There s a lifeguard blocking the only way to get up to the water slide so we will have to be
careful there so they won t catch us sneaking past the line. We will have to distract the lifeguard.
Darcy you will need to tell the lifeguard that someone is stealing his car. Then we can crab a raft
and run up the stairs to the top of the water slide. We can quickly jump onto the raft and go down
the water slide. When we get to the end of the waterslide we will run to the busiest pool and jump
into the busiest pool so that the lifeguards can t spot us. Ok that s the plan now we have to do that,
Darcy muttered.
Ok the water slide jets turn on in five minutes so we have five minutes to find a hiding spot. It
would be a good idea to hide near the rafts so that we can grab one straight away and run up the
stairs Darcy said .

Abstract : Due to recent improvement technologies in wireless communication ,there has been a
fastest growth in wireless sensor networks technologies during the past few years. Many different
architectures as well as algorithms and applications have been determined and implemented. The
efficiency of these wireless sensor networks is as much as dependent on routing protocol directly
affecting the network life and in wireless sensor network every sensor has a limited transmission
range of every sensor node to obtain the sensing data. Due to this limitation of wireless sensor
network Clustering of node is most popular techniques preferred in routing operations. In this paper,
cluster based energy efficient clustering technique based on artificial bee colony algorithm and
genetic algorithm is presented to increase the network lifetime. The name of artificial bee colony
algorithm is come from bees cause It has been inspired by collective behavior of Bees as seeking

After the motor car was invented the world thought they could do just about anything. Men had
always dreamed of taking to the sky and soaring like birds, now they could. On December171903
in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina this dream became a reality when the Wright Brothers, Orville and
Wilbur, discovered a way to fly, making the world a little bigger. With the invention of the first
flying machine and their investigation into aeronautics, the Wright Brothers, paved the way for the
future of flight. During their investigation the Wright Brothers faced many problems, but they

Their father was afraid of losing them both in a plane crash and made them promise that they would
never fly together. However, on May251910, the brothers flew a 6 minute flight together. Orville
piloted this momentous flight. After they landed, Orville took his 82 year old father on his first and
last flight. While Orville gained elevation, Milton cried out, After their successful flight, the Wright
brothers approached the governments of England, France, Germany, Russia, and the United States
War Department. After a few private sales, the War Department commissioned a plane in 1907.
With this purchase, the Brothers opened up a school to teach pilots about the airplane. The first
of these schools was established in Montgomery, Alabama on March151910. After receiving the
schooling, these pilots were then able to instruct future pilots. In 1909, the French government
also bought a plane with the condition that could have one that could carry a passenger. The
brothers quickly went to work and added an additional seat and increased the power of the motor.
Aviation was beginning to take flight! Flight has expanded the world s horizon. Through flight
we can now travel in a matter of minutes what used to take days. We are able to reach
destinations which were once unreachable. During the first trip to the moon, Neil Armstrong
carried a piece of the Wright Flyer with him, symbolizing the enormous impact that the Brothers
had as pioneers of flight to him and those that would follow. The Wright Brothers were ordinary
people who followed their dream. They never gave up and laid the foundation for aviation.

The Seven Years War And Florida s Independence
Florida
Ponce de Leon, who led the first European voyage to Florida in 1513, claimed Florida as Spain s
territory but the French were also interested in the territory, which led them to build Fort
Caroline in 1564. Because Spain wanted to show France that they owned the territory, they
destroyed Fort Caroline in 1565 while building their own: St. Augustine. Not only were the
French interested but England as well. This resulted to the Seven Years War and the French and

Life and Work of Sam Shepard
Student Name Professor Name Class/Section 11 December 2012 Sam Shepard A Review
Summary Sam Shepard has undoubtedly established himself as one of the greatest living
American playwrights of this time, if not for the duration of American history. His upbringing
and experiences, both before and since his stardom erupted, have shaped his work and how he is
perceived and there is a litany of examples of this that can be easily culled and analyzed. This
report has several sections. The first section looks at what has shaped Mr. Shepard and what he
has become as it pertains to theater and the American lexicon. Second, Mr. Shepard s work
known as Buried Child will be compared to another one of Mr. Shepard s works. Third, a look at
the script of Buried Child will be under taken. Fourth, the production of Buried Child will be
assessed. The report will conclude with a character analysis of a character from Buried Child
and this will include some visual research of the same character assessed on the rest of this
section. Life of Sam Shepard In looking at what Mr. Shepard experienced growing up, it is not
hard to ascertain why he has such a unique and atypical perspective of life and America in
general. A son in a military family, he (like most military brats ) moved around a lot. However,
the common moves from place to place were fused with an alcoholic father that no doubt
intimidated him and made him anxious as a child. The juxtaposition of his dad s career as a military

The Different Adaptations of Dracula
Ever since Bram Stoker wrote his entrancing novel people have been adapting it, and the story is
one of the most reproduced ideas in history. Each innovation of the novel influences the story for
the creators own purpose, and in doing so generates another version of Dracula. Count Dracula has
become an infamous character in history, and has been captured in many different mediums, such
as the Japanese anime and manga series Vampire Hunter D, which follows Draculas son D in his
adventures (Kikuchi). However, one of the adaptations that endures in modern minds is the 1992
film by Francis Ford Coppola, Bram Stoker s Dracula. This version of Draculawas meant to be loyal
to the novel, but it diverged from the original in many ways.

Indeed Mina s attraction to Dracula in the film leads to one of the defining alterations between the
film and movie adaption, the humanization of Dracula. The subtitle of the 1992 film is Love

spitting image of Mina, and is also represented by Winona Ryder. Throughout the film Dracula
tries to win over Mina in order to regain his love with Elisabeta, who commits suicide after false
rumours of Draculas death are feed to her by priest. The betrayal by the priest and his wife s death,
makes Dracula curse god, and therefore become a vampire. The background story of the character
Dracula makes the monster almost understandable, and the audience begins to sympathize with
Dracula. (0:33 5:38)

charming young Gary Oldman. Although Coppola starts the film with a brilliant representation of
Stoker s monster, he seems to embellish on the younger Dracula (12:44 13:00). In the novel
Dracula becomes younger by gorging himself with blood, but Jonathan Harker describes him like
a filthy leech, exhausted with his repletion (83). Coppola makes the monster more of a human, and
the audience can feel for his and Mina s love affair. Also, Jonathan seems distant from Mina, and

Personal Financial Plan Part II
Running Head: PERSONAL FINANCIAL PLAN PART II 1 Personal Financial Plan Part II
Zeinab Bazzi Baker College Personal Financial Plan Part II Daily economic activities have an
important influence on personal financial planning. In our society, the forces of supply and
demand play an important role in setting prices. Economics is the study of how wealth is
created and distributed. By doing my research, I found that each economic situation would
affect me at a personal level. During the financial crisis of 2008, there was a deflation in home
prices and inflation in gas prices. The houses lost 31% of its value while the cost of gas head for
$5 a gallon. Driving to work became even more expensive, and stressful, at a time when I was
worried about even keeping my job. Inflation was the main reason behind my debt. I relied on
my credit cards to purchase items I couldn t afford at that time. The fact that my income didn t
increase made me fall behind on my credit card payments which led to late fee charges. Role of
government The economy can be impacted by the U.S.government through two major types of
economic policy. The first type is called fiscal policy, which is economic policy instigated by the
President or by Congress. The fundamental tools at the disposal of these branches of government
are taxation law and government spending. By changing tax laws, the government can effectively
affect my personal finance by modifying the amount of disposable

Success Is The Most Misunderstood Driver Of Performance
Some popular theories claim that the amount a person is paid determines how well that person
produces and performs. However, new research suggests that there are more variables at play
pertaining to peak performance and link an employee s happiness to his or her productivity and a
company s success. Research indicates that performance on nearly every level productivity,
creativity, and engagement improves when people cultivate and work with a positive mind set.
According to Shawn Achor, the author of The HappinessAdvantage, Happiness is perhaps the
most misunderstood driver of performance. For one, most people believe that success precedes
happiness. Once I get a promotion, I ll be happy, they think. Or, Once I hit my sales target, I ll
feel great. But because success is a moving target as soon as you hit your target, you raise it again
the happiness that results from success is fleeting. Achor explains that when employees develop a
positive mind set, they become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and
productive at work. He has observed this effect in his role as a researcher and lecturer in 48
countries on the connection between employee happiness and success.
In a study at the University of Warwick, economists discovered employees who were happy
increased their productivity by 12%, while unhappy workers were 10% less productive. The
Warwick research team stated: We find that human happiness has large and positive causal effects on

Landing the Helicopter of Hovering Moms Essay
Parents usually have the best intentions like protecting their children from life s hardships and
preparing them for adulthood. However as with many other aspects of parenting, the results do not
always match the intentions. Overprotective parents generally want to protect their children from
harm, hurt, pain, failure, unhappiness, bad experiences, rejection, and disappointment (Lindsey 1).
However, parents must realize that overprotective parentinghas certain side effects. Parents believe
that they are doing a favor for their children by keeping them safe without realizing that this
parenting style can have severe effects on children such as robbing children of the essential life
skills that they need in order to have a healthy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an adult, he might find it hard to take care of himself because he never developed coping skills
to deal with life s challenges (Agadoni 3). This causes a child to be dependent on his or her parents;
it creates the illusion that no matter what the situation, mommy or daddy will be there to fix it. This
mind set is extremely crippling because eventually children leave the nest and venture out in life
without the capability dealing with situations by themselves.
Helicopter parents often send the unintentional message to their child saying that they are
incompetent of doing things on their own like the things they attempt to accomplish independently
are wrong. Instead of letting their children experience a sense of autonomy by allowing them to
accomplish things on their own, an overprotective parent would step in and take control; again
promoting dependency. A lot of times, such dependency carries on into adulthood (Sade 1). Instead
of being a mature, responsible adult and taking things into their own hands; they call on their
parents whenever things get strenuous in their lives. Likewise, adults who still depend on their
parents for everything do not mature mentally and sometimes do not have the skills needed to
become successful on their own.
For statistical understanding, the graph above shows the percentage of parents who admitted to
helping their adolescent and

Analysis Of The Thinking Out Loud Video
After watching the three videos, I had a very differing opinions about all of them. The one that
stuck out to me the most, and certainly not in a good way, was the Thinking Out Loud video.
Obviously, the interpreter was not qualified to be doing that type of work. After watching the
video, the first time with the sound on, I watched it again with the sound off to see if I could
understand her signing. Unfortunately, I did not understand what she was saying. In terms of
ethical considerations, or in this case lack thereof, there is absolutely no regard toward assuring
equal access to her consumers. I do not recall her even completing one full sentence or thought

Essay on A Theater of My Own
A Theater of My Own
My grandmother, Annie was a seanchai, an Irish storyteller. She was the only great actor I have
known intimately. Her stage was the kitchen of her cottage in the West of Ireland and her stories
were about her friends and neighbors. She recreated their trials and triumphs and with her talent
for mimicry accorded each a speaking part. Her one woman show held me spellbound. She
commanded my tears and fits of laughter depending on the content of her story or dictated by a
whim. It was she who made me stage struck years before I even saw a stage.

The self deprecating wit prevalent throughout his works was reminiscent of the Irish sense of
humor. I read every one of his books available in our school library and then moved on to the
Boston Public Library where I discovered the story telling gifts of his brother I.J. Singer and his
contemporary, Chaim Grade. Having exhausted the English language collection of Yiddish writers,
I became determined to explore their works in their original form.
Upon entering university, I decided to concentrate my studies on the language and literature of
Yiddish. Although no Yiddish courses were offered at Boston University, the University Professor
s Program allowed me to design my own course of study. I studied Yiddish and Hebrew at Hebrew
College, the National Yiddish Book Center, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Harvard

It was Yiddish and another dynamic teacher that pointed me again toward the theater. Last year in
what was to be the most exciting and challenging course of my college career, I studied Yiddish
theater with Professor Ruth Wisse. My deepest understanding of the Yiddish languageand literature
came from her class. She began her lecture by putting a play in context and placing its author in
world literature. The second half of class was devoted to reading carefully prepared works aloud
with each student playing a different role. She pushed and prodded us until we came up with an

Examples Of Human Errors In The Workplace
In this report the main errors that happen in a workplace are mentioned. The main factors that affect
the performance and the prevention techniques for the errors have been discussed. An example of a
disaster that occurred due to human error have been studied. Humans have a crucial role in
designing, installing, manufacturing and maintenance fields in industries. Humanerrors occur when
a person fails to perform a task that could lead to the stoppage or slowing down of work. It also
happens when there is a damage to equipment or property as a result of a person not doing their
tasks correctly. Human errors can be caused due to numerous factors and some of them are
mentioned below.
Poor lighting on work floor.
Lack of skill and training for the work force.
Problems with the design of the machines.
High levels of noise.
Unplanned layout of work.
Malfunctioning of tools.
Poorly maintained machines and operating procedures.
Generally human errors are divided into six different categories according to the different functions
carried out in an industry and they are:
Errors during operation.
Errors during assembly.
Errors during design.
Errors during inspection.
Errors during installation.
Errors during maintenance.
The errors that can happen in all of the above mentioned fields can again be categorised into:
Errors during action
Errors during checking.
Errors during information receival.
Errors during information transmission.

Business Model Analysis On The Management Of The...
For a company to achieve maximum impact on their strategies whether marketing, financial or

business activities ensures smooth operation for maximum profit (Brinkman, 2). The business
model strategy enhances the management of the enterprise and operational design to conform
to profit making goals by implementing the segmentation of business activities. The research
report will employ the business model canvas to study and perform data analysis on the quickly
growing taxi company Uber Company. Data analysis is the deliberate activity of collecting and
presenting data in a form that highlights useful information that is helpful in decision making
(Boyd, 18). Data analysis can be described as the implied process of taking the whole of the
collected data and identifying trends to determine direction, meaning and implications, in
addition to asking questions about the received data and making comparisons within it to
expand concepts from it (Warner, 13). Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp founded Uber Company
back in 2009. The company s objective was to come up with a mobile app that was to dominate in
the transportation sector (Reilly Williams 32). The Uber app is known to allow users to make their

Crucial Roles Of Women And Children During The Romantic Era
The Crucial Role of Women and Children in the Romantic Era During the Romantic era, the role
of women and children were both crucial to society. Their individual roles were portrayed in
numerous poems during this time frame. The children and women were property of the male
figure in their life. William Blake is an advocate for children s rights, Mary Wollstone Craft is an
advocate for equal rights of women, and William Wordsworth portrays the women s role, if they
were no male figure. William Blake is a Romantic poet who advocated heavily for children s
rights. At the time, there were no child labor laws, meaning any child could be placed in a
factory or any environment regardless of age. In The Chimney Sweeper, Blake demonstrates
children s innocence. The speaker is a young male child who was sold before he could speak (51).

Review Of No Art Passes Our Conscience On The Way Film
Chapter 1 | INTRODUCTION TO TASK No art passes our conscience in the way film does, and
goes directly to our feelings, deep down into the dark rooms of our souls. Ingmar Bergman1
Making motion pictures is business from over a century. Though, this field is considered as the
most expensive form of Art. To execute a perfect scene, there are hundreds of people working
behind the camera, holding and managing equipments. Equipments are for enhancing the beauty of
film. Now a day this art is not limited for film theatres or multiplexes. We live in an era of Internet
and have plenty of platforms like YouTube and Vimeo and Netflix to showcase this art. But for
small production house, it s impossible to have the same equipments as the mighty film makers has.
This project work is to help out those productions which cannot afford the advance technology
named Motion control. The technique is commonly used when duplication of an element which
cannot be physically duplicated is required; motion control is the primary method of featuring
multiple shots of the same actor in a scene that consist of camera movement. For this method, the
camera typically films exactly the same motion in exactly the same location while the actor
performs different parts. With the help of engineering we will make such a product that can be used
by small budget film makers out there. Under 7th Semester Project, we talked with emerging

It Is The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
It s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
Throughout the year, there are many occasions that bring my family together to celebrate. We
celebrate birthdays, baptisms, and generally when the sun is shining bright. However, there is one
holiday that stands out as my favorite, Christmas. It is a time of year with lots of fun and cheer.
Although this statement is clichГ©, it is also true. It is the time of year when the world is kinder;
joy and good will are spread through the world. In my family, Christmas brings us together to
celebrate each other in love at the end of the year. It is a time when we show a little more kindness
to a stranger, laugh and commune with each other, and fill our bellies with food.
Christmas is the time of year when the best of human nature shines through. People spend more
time saying hello and goodbye. We show gratitude for little things that we would normally ignore.
One tends to reflect on the blessings they received throughout the year.
They reflect on the things that are most important like family and friendship, good health, and well
being. Generally even the shrewdest and grouchiest person, is slightly nicer during this time of year.
Strangers give to charities and homeless shelters. People give their time by volunteering in soup
kitchens and hospitals. Although these random acts of kindness should be displayed more
throughout the year, it is nice to observe during Christmas.

The Ethics Of Drilling Mud
5.The functions of drilling mud, and how their properties are modified to suit downhole
conditions Discussion of the problems the mud engineer has in selecting a mud for a HPHT
well. Introduction The drilling mud plays a critical role in any successful drilling operation. It
must be carefully optimised and managed to ensure the safety of the drilling operation and to
minimise hole problems. A failure in the mud design can lead to significant losses in terms of
time and cost as a result of problems such as stuckpipe, kicks and blowouts. Depending on the
continuous phase, drilling mud can be classified into water based and oil based. Drilling mud has
the following functions: i.The drilling mud is used in controlling the hydrostatic pressure by
keeping it higher that the formation pressure. ii. The mud is used to extract cuttings from the
hole. The effectiveness of this function is contingent on the yield point (YP) property of the mud.
iii. A lot of heat is generated during drilling due to friction and the mud works to cool and also
lubricate the drill bit and drillpipe iv. To keep the integrity of the hold by preventing caving. The
drilling mud forms a mud cake on the walls of the formation which stabilises it. v.Helps to release
the drilled cuttings at the surface vi. Help minimise formation damage by maintaining a low fluid
loss into the formation vii. Assisting in formation evaluation viii. Keeps cuttings in suspension

importance in overall (saving or protecting someone from sin or harm)History.
While the dominant trend in Old Testamenttheology has been either to neglect wisdom literature
or to consider it to be outside the mainstream of Israelite faith, some scholars have offered
important insights into both the theology of the sages and how it relates to the larger biblical
theology. We begin with the place of wisdom in several of the leading presentations of Old
Testament Theology since the Second World War, and then move on to the different approaches to
understanding the theology of the sages by contemporary wisdom scholars.
According to an Old Testament scholar, Wright (1969:70 96)

Rudyard Kipling s The Jungle Laws
Throughout The Jungle Books, by Rudyard Kipling, various laws were shown to create order in
society. The order that originated from the laws create harmony and structure that can affect the
range of simple populations to diverse ecosystems. Mowgli, the main character, encounters all of
the vital laws and observes that each law has a different outcome, yet all of the results are
beneficial to society. Without those laws, order corrupts and violence may break out, for those
laws are meant to keep everyone and everything in place. As a result, Kipling manifests the law of
the Jungle, the Beach, and of Man so that one can understand how order is formed in a society.

As Mowgli discovers, the man are afraid of the jungle animals just like the jungle animals are
afraid of them. Another law man has is to destroy things that they don t understand. Although
there is cruelty involved with this act, it certainly creates order and simplicity within the society
of man. Without order, man would freely roam and have no worries, causing their own village
and society to corrupt due to their foolishness. The Bandar log are a close relative to man, yet
they have no laws in their way of living, which causes consequences from their actions. They
have no law and live swinging around in the jungle, but they are hated by other society and are
left solitary. They are easily afraid and have many enemies, due to their personality and actions.
Because of this, the Bandar log is a perfect example of no order in a society. Thus, the law of Man
live an isolated life, yet they can keep their order and peace within their

Comparing Slaughterhouse-Five And The Things They Carried

Fragments of Destructions That Causes War Violence can only be concealed by a lie, and the lie
can only be maintained by violence. As said by the russian activist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn,
showing that violence feeds into lies and vice versa. Meaning that they don t help solve issues such
as war, but rather feed them. The war based novels Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegutand The
Things They Carried by Tim O Brien both authors portrays unique styles to develop similar and
different themes of war through protest, society, and humanity. In the novel, Slaughterhouse Five,

Tim O Brien discusses the literal Things They Carried and also the heartache and internal things
that men had to experience and go through during the war. The novel focuses on chaos and the
trauma, and by reproducing these realities in a fragmented, chaotic narrative. Tim O Brien
demonstrates tragedy of war and death. In one of the short stories Notes it states, By telling
stories, you objectify your own experience. You separate it from yourself. You pin down certain
truths. You make up others. You start sometimes with an incident that truly happened, like the
night in the shit field, and you carry it forward by inventing incidents that did not in fact occur
but that nonetheless help to clarify and explain. (152) This shows the guilt about Kiowa s death
and the feelings after the war by telling a story, it shows how he carries these on and are a burden
on his mind. Also shows the corruption in one s mind during war by showing how soldiers start to
believe false events and shift the truth. Therefore the novel The Things They Carried is form of
protest against

ABSTRACT In this paper we are going to illustrate a way to cluster similar news articles based on
their term frequency. We will using python and nltk to recognize keywords and subsequently using
hierarchical clustering algorithm. This method can be used to build news aggregation backends.
Aggregation means clustering like documents from different sources. There is fast moving data and
heterogeneity of sources in news aggregation scenarios. We need to remove the duplicates arising
due to heterogeneous sources. General Terms Hierarchical clustering, algorithms, aggregation,
news, text mining et al. Keywords Python, nltk, feedparser, news aggregation. 1.
INTRODUCTION News Aggregators can be considered a multilateral platform of interconnection
[1]. In principle, news aggregators can be a substitute or a complement to the news outlets who
invest in the creation of news stories. A policy debate centers around the decrease in the incentives
for news creation that results if readers choose to consume their news through aggregators without
clicking through to the news websites or generating any revenue for the outlets [2]. Getting these
two ideas in perspective our ideas is to get a small script in python which anyone can run on their

Ever since it has been established there has not been a team with 3 losses in the top 5. Only one time has there been a two loss team to make it to the National Championship game. An argument against having a playoff would be that teams would be rewarded for having an easy strength of schedule and not scheduling difficult out of conference games. There would not be much reason for a non power conference teams to schedule difficult games out of conference if it means more to go undefeated. In NCAA Basketball non major conferences teams that don t schedule may get unlucky when it comes to making NCAA tournament do to a lack of strength of Schedule. For conferences such as the Southeastern Conference and Big 12 which the teams are better should get rewarded by having more difficult games. A one loss team in the Southeastern Conference shows much more than a one loss Mountain West conference. This would be unfair to the major conferences. It was because of this reason that the BCS takes in consideration the Strength of schedule and quality wins. In 2002 Miami was left out of the title game even though they beat Florida State head to head and yet Florida State made it. Florida State lost and Miami won its bowl game to take in consideration quality wins. Radio Network Performance For Indoor Cellular Systems Radio Network Performance for Indoor Cellular Systems Keshav Kumar Bollu (M547X932) Abstract Indoor wireless systems with cellular technology provides good coverage and high capacity with great potential if a large number of small radio ports are connected to a centralized radio network controller. Various radio network solutions are investigated based on this approach. Architecture of a base station sub system (BSS) is presented and the proposed BSS is based on a distributed architecture. The cost economical solution for indoor wireless deployment is presented that meets indoor capacity need and provides good indoor coverage. Antenna hopping is done, which transmits information continuously on different antennas. The Radio Resource... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... High traffic capacity is achieved with smaller cells and microcell systems which cover downtown hotspot areas. Microcells are characterized by lower antenna heights and lower power levels when compared with ordinary macrocells and hence offer high outdoor traffic capacity but low indoor coverage. Thus an indoor system should supply better coverage and high capacity simultaneously. These needs are fulfilled by using a large number of small radio ports into the cellular system. Several solutions are available to increase the system capacity: frequency reuse by reducing the cell size, dynamic resource allocation, slow frequency hopping, hierarchical cells etc. The transmission link performance is a key property of a wireless communication system as it determines the coverage of the system. An improvement of the transmission link performance provides a cost effective way of increasing capacity by allowing reuse of tighter channel. A method of improving the transmission link performance of a wireless communication system is discussed here. These needs are satisfied by arranging a huge number of small radio ports to the existing cellular system. Spot coverage is provided for those areas which are hard or impossible to cover with the outdoor cells. The radio ports transmit with very low power for a small coverage area and keeping the generated interference low. The reuse of traffic channels between the small areas covered by the radio ports can possibly be very frequent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Lean Production Is A Benefit For Selling Products Lean Production In short, lean production is essentially about receiving more from less. The point of this idea is to lessen the amount of assets or quantity, so the main focus can be utilized as a benefit for selling products and furthering assistance to customers. All while in sync, it is about making the association of the business or supply chain more productive, vaulable and more importantly effective. Lean production can be characterized from various perspectives, however the most mainstream is the elimination of all waste and continuous improvement of productivity. (Arnold, Chapman, 2012, p.340) Waste means something besides the base measure of hardware, parts, space, material, creation time and laborers time which make it completely important to increase the value of the item. Lean production is built on various effective ideas such as continuous improvement, organizing the business, and just in time production, which makes lean production so effective in supply chains. Lean production includes wiping out what might be wasteful and hence utilizing less energy, supplys, capacity and time. In return, this lessens costs and helps companies, such as supply chains, excel in business. The three basic values of supply chains are simplicity, consistency and responsibility. Lean production ties in quite well with these qualities. For instance, supply chain stores are basic in outline and all stores are fundamentally the same which makes them consistent, which is ... • 6. Huckleberry Finn Literary Analysis As Winston Churchill once said, Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things . This quote could be taken into context numerous ways, one of them being social criticism. In the two books The Adventures of Huckleberry Finnby Mark Twain and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, social criticism is clearly an element that both authors reflected on greatly while writing these pieces of literature. Although both novels may be seen as completely different works, Twain and Fitzgerald use similar tools to effectively fulfill the purpose of criticizing American society. Through the use of symbolism, themes, figurative language, diction and character choice, the authors make it evident that these two novels are written to portray the hypocrisy of middle class America.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, many symbols could relate to Twain s criticism on society, the river and shore being one of them. Throughout the story, Huck and Jim often find themselves sailing away on the river or sitting on the shore. Twain shows how the river is a free place for all, and the shore not so much. On the river, Huck finds himself trusting Jim and creating some sort of friendship with him, something that was unheard of in the time period. Twain comments on the middle class by saying it s okay that two people from different racial backgrounds are friends; therefor, race does not matter. • 8. The Characteristics Of Artificial Intelligence One must truly understand what artificial intelligence is in order to assess its usefulness in society. In the article Artificial Intelligence by Paul Norvig, it states The field of artificial intelligence (AI) is the science and engineering of machines that act intelligently. (Herzfeld 509). So, what does Norvig mean when these machines act intelligently? This means that Artificial Intelligencemimics human intelligence as if it had its own consciousness. Consider this, whenever you perform a task, for example, sorting colored objects into their matching containers, programmers who design these Artificial Intelligent machines go through the logical process we do as humans. So, if someone had a red cube and was looking for its container, one would go through a logical chronological process. First, one would define the color of the object, red. Then, one would find out what type of object he or she is holding, cube. Finally, in order to complete the task, sorting colored objects into their matching containers, one would identify the container that was for red cubes. This is an example of the logical process regarding Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence is difficult to define. There are so many areas in which intelligent machines could benefit life, a single definition wouldn t fully encompass its capabilities. Noreen L. Herzfeld, Professor of Theology and Computer Science at College of Saint Benedict, provides an interesting perspective on what Artificial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The way that our teachers and classmates looked at us that day in school was just a taste of the culture clash that awaited us in the real world, where prospective employers and men on the street would often misinterpret our tight skirts and jiggly bracelets as a come on. (Ortiz Cofer 205) During the 1970 s the over sexualization of latinas were commonplace in the media and through stereotypes which labeled them in terms of their preconceived sexuality. As with the situation with the man who sang Maria , Cofer realized that misinformation about her culture and stereotypes would cause people, specifically male, to approach her and others like her as sexual objects. However, each decision we make, as parents, has at least one disadvantage. We must decide whether the advantages outweigh the cost. Therefore, before you jump to conclusions, let s take into consideration some of the benefits homeschoolingcan offer. Homeschooling is more cost effective. Homeschooling provides many benefits such as the elimination of bullying, better test scores, children can work at their own pace, and families have more time together. Homeschooling is more cost effective than sending children to public schools. In my area for students who do not qualify for free or reduced lunch, the price for each school year, per child, is $423 based on a 180 day school year. School supplies aren t cheap; according to the article Mommy Edition, schools usually send home a list of mandatory supplies that will be kept at the end of the year (2017). The cost of school pictures and year books can be anywhere between $25 and $100 per child. Then there are activities such as sports, clubs, and field trips. My parents despised the day I brought home a fundraiser packet. Public schools push this on parents because children see the prizes not the prices. One year I sold candy for a school fundraiser. My brother and I ended up eating more than I sold, and this left my parents having to pay $156 for what was missing. Otherwise, my grade card would have been withheld. ... As You Like It: The Importance of the Secondary Characters As You Like It, by William Shakespeare, is a radiant blend of fantasy, romance, wit and humor. In this delightful romp, Rosalind stands out as the most robust, multidimensional and lovable character, so much so that she tends to overshadow the other characters in an audience s memory, making them seem, by comparison, just stock dramatic types . Yet, As You Like It is not a stock romance that just happens to have Shakespeare s greatest female role. Though the range of her acting sub roles alone would make the other characters look pale, the depth of each of her many parts outshines many. As a woman in love she demonstrates a range of emotion and action that far exceeds that of Celia, Phoebe or Audrey. It is her romance with Orlando that is the focus of the play, and the one held up as the ideal, and therefore the one that gets most of Shakespeare s attention as a playwright. Rosalind s gushing first meeting with Orlando, a stark contrast to her masterly handling of Le Beau just before, shows a more vulnerable Rosalind. Rosalind s playful fantasizing about Orlando after the wrestling match and after verses start appearing on trees shows a depth of infatuation not explored with the other characters, except Phoebe, though Phoebe is shown up to have a more stock kind of silly infatuation rather than Rosalind s more courtly lovesickness. Rosalind s momentary drops of her guise as Ganymede playing Rosalind, such as when she faints at seeing the bloody handkerchief, show that Rosalind is human, and these involuntary glimpses of the true lover forced out by sheer emotion place Rosalind on a higher level of love than the more ordinary, stereotypical posturing of Phoebe. As wit and philosopher Rosalind plays a dominant role, though here Celia, Touchstone and Jaques are less flat in comparison to Rosalind. However, new research suggests that there are more variables at play pertaining to peak performance and link an employee s happiness to his or her productivity and a company s success. Research indicates that performance on nearly every level productivity, creativity, and engagement improves when people cultivate and work with a positive mind set. According to Shawn Achor, the author of The HappinessAdvantage, Happiness is perhaps the most misunderstood driver of performance. For one, most people believe that success precedes happiness. Once I get a promotion, I ll be happy, they think. Or, Once I hit my sales target, I ll feel great. But because success is a moving target as soon as you hit your target, you raise it again the happiness that results from success is fleeting. Achor explains that when employees develop a positive mind set, they become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work. He has observed this effect in his role as a researcher and lecturer in 48 countries on the connection between employee happiness and success. The Ethics Of Drilling Mud 5.The functions of drilling mud, and how their properties are modified to suit downhole conditions Discussion of the problems the mud engineer has in selecting a mud for a HPHT well. Introduction The drilling mud plays a critical role in any successful drilling operation. It must be carefully optimised and managed to ensure the safety of the drilling operation and to minimise hole problems. A failure in the mud design can lead to significant losses in terms of time and cost as a result of problems such as stuckpipe, kicks and blowouts. Drilling mud has the following functions: i.The drilling mud is used in controlling the hydrostatic pressure by keeping it higher that the formation pressure. ii. The mud is used to extract cuttings from the hole. The effectiveness of this function is contingent on the yield point (YP) property of the mud. iii. A lot of heat is generated during drilling due to friction and the mud works to cool and also lubricate the drill bit and drillpipe iv. To keep the integrity of the hold by preventing caving. The drilling mud forms a mud cake on the walls of the formation which stabilises it. v.Helps to release the drilled cuttings at the surface vi.
